Lunar is away on royal business and Celestia is stuck in the castle within her chambers. All seems well till Lunar receives a letter from Luna stating to return to Canterlot with all do haste. It would seem that something is happening in Canterlot that would require the stallion to be there immediately.

Lunar flew with all the speed he could muster back towards Canterlot. He was in Ponyville discussing the town’s budget with the mayor before receiving a a floating scroll before his face from his younger sister-in-law Luna. It was word that his mare Celestia had gone into labor. The day was rather chilly for an early winter morning and the cold did not bode well for the stallion’s muscles but he pushed through it and soon arrived in Canterlot in record time. Upon landing within the castle’s outer courtyard he galloped inside and bolted through the corridors, narrowing missing soldier and servant alike in his bid to reach where his mare was foaling.

“Lunar!” Luna had called out to the stallion as he zipped past the corridor that lead to their bed chambers. Hearing Luna call out to him as he ran past made him skid across the floor in an attempt to stop but only made him slam into a statue of armor which caused a loud crash. Guards from nearby rush to help their liege from beneath the fallen armor. “Are you alright your majesty?” Lunar just shook the daze from his head and nodded to them as he once more rushed around the corner and down the hall towards where the screams of his wife could be heard coming from behind the closed doors.

“Thank goodness thou are’t unmarred by that accident. I do not think Tia would take kindly were she to know of it.” Luna sat just outside the door along with Twilight by her side.

“I left as soon as I got your letter. Needless to say I may have left the mayor in Ponyville a bit confused when I left so abruptly and in haste.” Lunar looked to the door with the screams of his mare and other voices echoed from. “Is it safe to go in?”

“I would be careful. Young Twilight here tried and was met with a very hormonal alicorn.” She looked to the younger alicorn who’s head was still hung, her mane hiding her eyes.

“I would not worry to much about it Twilight. Right now Celestia is in a bit of pain and is not thinking clearly.”

“That’s putting it mildly.” The lavender alicorn responded.

Lunar took a deep breath before drawing close to the doors of their chambers. “Wish me luck.” No sooner then did her open the doors that he was blasted with the Royal Canterlot Voice from a very hormonal and in pain mare.

“GET OUT!!”

The force in which Celestia used to project her voice was enough to throw her stallion against the opposing wall of the hallway. That was twice in one day he had such ‘accidents’. Still he rose to his hooves and shook the daze off from his head before walking in and closing the door behind him.

“We believe we will summon a nurse.” Luna rose to her hooves.

“But the Princess already has some.”

Luna looked back at Twilight and smirked. “Not for our sister but for Lunar. We believe that our sister my very well burn his fur off before her foal is born.” With that she trotted around the corner and down the adjacent hall, leaving Twilight to ponder just what she meant.

Back within the bed room things were anything but peaceful. Celestia, guardian of the sun and one of the rulers of Equestria was in pain. Even as she tried to breath the way she was told, nothing in her long life could have prepared her for this.

“You are doing great you highness. Now I need you to take another deep breath and push.”

Celestia breathed in slowly and with a strained grunt she leaned forward on her bed and push with all her might. Lunar for his part was slowly approching her from the side before stopping in his tracks once the solar princess caught sight of him from the corner of her eye. A golden aura surrounded his horn and he yelped as he was pulled to the side of the bed.

“You! You did this to me! How could you!? I thought you loved me?!”

Lunar shook his head and smiled, looking upon her. “But I do Celestia. I always have and I forever will.”

“I need you push once more your highness.” Celestia for her part groans in pain once more as she pushed with all her strength.

“I can see it. Once more your highness.”

Celestia was tired and nearly exhausted as she shook her head. “I can’t.”

Lunar was quick to turn her head with his hoof to face him. “Yes you can. You must.”

The white mare smiled and nodded before taking one deep breath and with the last ounce of her strength, she pushed and pushed hard. “I see the head, here it comes.” With her will fading and last of her reserves drained a faint and audible cry echoed through the room. Celestia and Lunar looked to the nurses that were at the foot of their bed, one with scissors and the other with a blanket. With a quick snip the nurses wrapped up the crying foal in a warm blanket and moved over to other side of the bed opposite Lunar.

“Your daughter your majesties.”

Celestia gently took the crying bundle into her hooves and held her close. The little filly was of the purest white like her mother and had a mane of the purest silver like her father. Her sapphire eyes beheld both her parents and soon her cries we slowly silenced in to soft coo’s.

“Congratulation your highnesses.”

Celestia looked to stallion, tear streaming down her face. Lunar for his part was also tearing up and light leaned his head to that of his mare. “What name have you choosen?”

Both Celestia and Lunar looked to the nurses before looking to each other. “I... I am not certain.” To this Lunar simply smiled.

“I am... her name shall be Silvaris Platinum Snow. But to those that know her, Silver Snow.”

“It is a wonderful name Lunar.” Celestia looked down to their daughter and lightly nosed the little foal. “Hello there little one. I’m your mommy and this big goof ball is your father.”

Lunar chuckled deeply before leaning his muzzle into the small bundle and nuzzled the filly’s tummy which made her giggle softly and clutch his muzzle in her hooves. Lunar closed his eyes as tears ran off his face. In all his years this is the happiest he has ever been since the day he and Celestia were married, no scratch that this was way better.

“Is... is it safe to come in now?” Twilight and Luna peeked into the room only now they were joined by the rest of Twilight’s friends.

“Yes you can come in.” Celestia spoke softly. The entire ordeal left her weak but happy all the same. Twilight, Luna as well as all of Twilight’s friends walked into the room and as the nurses were finishing up, they circled the bed.

“Awww she’s so cute!” Pinkie started to bounce in place.

“Ah reckon she’s even cuter then Applebloom when she was that small and that’s saying something.”

“What’s her name?” Twilight looked up to the stallion she now called her brother.

“Silvaris Platinum Snow but you all can call her Silver Snow.”

“Truly a most splendid and befitting name you highness. I honestly can not wait to see the kind of outfits I would be able to make for her.”

“Quite the fine addition beloved sister, honored brother.” Lunar was quick to nuzzle Luna’s forehead in thanks.

“Ha you think dresses are going be neat, I can’t wait to teach her to fly.”

The normally timid pegasus quietly spoke up. “Well...well I think teaching her about all the little creature would be a lot of fun.”

“And I’m sure I can teach her all there is to know about magic.”

Lunar and Celestia smiled to each other then to everypony before them. “We thank you all for your support in this. We are sure with the guidance of everypony here, Silvaris will grow up to be a very wise and loved princess like her mother before her.”

The little filly softly yawned before she looked at her parents and those around her once more with droopy eyes before falling slowly into the welcoming arms of sleep. Celestia nuzzled her daughter. “Sweet dreams my little snowflake.”
