Chapter one - The letter

It was a normal morning in Ponyville. One cyan Pegasus was sleeping on a lonely cloud in the clear, blue sky. It was her usual routine to sleep after training. She trained to enter Wonderbolts, of course. It was her dream, but also her promise. While she was still small, she promised her father before his death that she'll make him proud by becoming a part of Wonderbolts. And she is trying to accomplish that promise.

She slept peacefully and quietly until something poked her side. She woke up and yawned. At first, she didn't see anything, but when she blinked a few times, she saw the flying stick. Suddenly, she heard voice from the earth. She slowly went on the edge of the cloud and looked down. She saw Lavander alicorn with a letter in her hoof. She rolled her eyes and flew down to see what she want.

"What is it, Twilight? I want to sleep!" She groaned and fell to the floor. Twilight rolled her eyes and lifted her up with her magic and poured a bucket of cold water what was taken from Celestia-knows-where. Rainbow Dash woke up and gave her death glare.

"Hey! What was that for?" She asked angrily. Twilight slowly lowered her to the ground and gave her a letter.

"This is for you." She gave her the letter. Rainbow Dash looked at it and saw the seal of Princess Celestia. Rainbow Dash raised eyebrow.

"But, why you didn't read that? I mean, you're her faithful student or whatever. Wouldn't it also make you concerned?" She asked. Twilight shrugged.

"I don't know. This letter is especially for you. Now, please excuse me. Gotta get back to learning." Twilight gave her a small smile and went back home. Rainbow Dash looked back at the letter and opened it.

Dear Rainbow Dash.

I need you to come at Canterlot. I have quite important things to discuss with you. I know you're probably confused now, but you really need to come and I can't explain everything by letter. Please, come as soon as you can. Meet me on my balcony.

Princess Celestia.

Rainbow Dash didn't want to wait for a second. She jumped high into the air and flew towards the castle. She flew as fast as she could. Although she still felt tired, she didn't want to give up just because of that. She was flying for about fifteen minutes until she crashed into someone. They fell on the cloud, which is fortunately located just below them. Rainbow Dash stood up and began to yell angrily.

"Hey! What's your problem? I could-" she stopped when she saw at who was she actually yelling. Her eyes widened and she gasped.

"OhmygoshI'msosorryIdidn'tmeantto." ( Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to.) She burbled out. She was terribly upset with herself.
'Great! I mean, just great! I bumped into Wonderbolt. Not just any Wonderbolt, but co-captain! And I yelled at him, of course! You're so smart, Rainbow Dash! Now I ruined my chances to enter the Wonderbolts! Gah!' She mentally slapped herself. They both stood up.

"Nah, it's ok." He said with big, goofy smile. Rainbow Dash was not sure about it.

"Are you sure? I mean you-" she was cut of by him.

"No, really, it's ok." He said, still smiling. Then he stared at her. She looked very familiar to him. He thought for a second. Suddenly, he remembered who she was. A smile returned on his face.

"Aren't you mare from Best Young Flying Competition? And from the gala?" He asked. Rainbow lifted her head and faced him. Her smile couldn't be bigger.

"You remember me?" She asked, surprised. He nodded. Her eyes sparkled with joy and happiness.
'EEEEP! He remembers me!' She was screaming happily in herself.

"Of course I do. Everypony do." He answered. Rainbow Dash was so exited that she could make three Sonic rainbooms at once.

'Okay. Play it cool, Rainbow Dash. As always.' She thought. She took a big breath.

"Yea ... So... what's up?" She asked. He shrugged.

"Well. Nothing special. What about you? Where are you hurrying?" He asked. Rainbow's eyes widened.
'Ow! I'm so stupid. I need to go to Princess. But, I can't leave a Wonderbolt! Man what to do?' She thought. Suddenly, she saw hoof waving in front of her face. She blinked a few times.

"Are you ok? You didn't answer me." He said with a confused look on his face. Rainbow Dash gave him nervous grin in what probably no pony would have believed.

"Oh... yeah, about that... I need to go... You see... I'm sorry about that, heh." She said nervously, looking at him and waiting for an answer. He again gave her sweet smile.

"Nah, it's ok. I have to go too. So... I guess I'll see you later... Bye!" He waved goodbye and flew ask-Celestia-where.

'So... that means I'll see him again? And maybe all of them! EEEEP!' She happily flew towards the castle.

When she got to the door, she saw the two guards who stood motionless in front of the door. When she was spotted, they turned toward her with the spear what was pointing at her face.

"What do you want?" One guard asked in a deep voice.

"Princess Celestia needs me. Name is Rainbow Dash." Rainbow Dash answered. The guard nodded and let her in. Rainbow Dash flew to Celestia's balcony. She took a look around and then she saw Princess Celestia.

"Hello, Rainbow Dash. How was your flight?" Princess asked. Rainbow Dash shrugged.

"Um. Awesome, I guess... What you need me for?" She asked. She immediately wanted to know for what was she called for. Princess Celestia sighed.

"Rainbow Dash, listen to me carefully. I need you to do something important for me-" Celestia didn't get to finish her sentence because Rainbow Dash cut her off.

"I'm sorry for interrupting, but Why am I here? Twilight is the one who you usually give assignments and she's the one who usually resolves all. Why did you call me?" She asked. Celestia is once more sighed.

"Rainbow Dash, listen to me, please! This is very important. You're the only one who can solve this!" She said, raising her voice. Then she closed her eyes to calm down.

"Rainbow Dash, I need you to do..."
