> Pre-emptive Strike > by Ponyess > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue: 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently Luna had been with me an hour ago. She gave me one of these visions of hers. In the dream, it all made sense. It always does, doesn't it? I had seen it all pay out, as if I had been there in person myself. I could have been, I could still go there and see it all play out, but I don't have the time. If I wait until it happened as it did when she told me, it would all be too late. If it is a dream or a nightmare, but the board meeting had been real and they had chosen to cancel our show. If they were real and were free to act as they pleased, it would all be over. I can't allow it to happen. This had been but one image in a long line if imageries. I had seen them all clearly. I had been there and seen the acts myself. I can stop it, I could go back and prevent it from happening. There is but the one catch. I had to leave Ponyville in order to do, what I had to do. Thankfully I don't really need much. Just like last time I had left Ponyville, that is. Most of what I really need is only too easy to carry and conceal. I am the master of it. I had what I need right here. The first part is the blade I had copied in the Royal castle, the second is my trusty Party Canon. You could take neither away from me. There is the third item, the one none other could hold. The key to entrance and escape. Actually, I guess it is amusing, if you just look at it from the right perspective. I have the Canon right here, I can pull it out as I please. This blade isn't anything you could take from me, and to the rest, it's kind of merely a trick of the light? I may be comfortable with who and what I am, but my looks would be a dead give-away? Actually, it doesn't matter. There will be no surviving witnesses. Just as I had no time to wait, I still do have enough time to grab a quick bite on my way out, it is in the workings of time, as it were. It is what Twilight would have told you. Actually, Luna had been kind enough to bring me that part with her. Just a plate of yesterday's Muffins and a large can of juice. At least she had been considerate enough to think ahead. As an Alicorn, it had been a simple trick. They are all piled up, ready to go. I had taken them one at the time, chewing carefully and swallowing with a mouthful of the juice, not so bad. I guess she has a taste for the finer things in life, since she is a Royal Princess after all. With that out of the way, I'm ready to go. Just as I had done the other time, I simply unzipped and stepped through. The time and place is right, just as it had been back then. As I had washed down the last of my early breakfast she had brought me, she had left the room. Maybe she didn't like to see what I was about to do? For she was sure to know. The first part is no secret. I just opened up the rift, and slipped through. On the other side, I found a large white room. Apparently they like large bedrooms. I had to cut this short, but that is no problem on my part. Once in his room, I moved up quietly to his fairly large bed. It looks as if it is large enough for both our royal sisters. Which is a shame, all on its own. What made him deserve such a large and comfortable bed. As I approached the off white bed, he still lay sleeping. Thankfully he is alone. I just stared at the man for a moment. This was the one who was supposedly responsible. He was about to bring our nation to an end. I just couldn't allow it. First I merely placed my front forehoof on his face, pressing it down so he couldn't breathe. This should wake him up, or I was to spill his beans for him. “Wake up, time to die!” I pronounced. If it was my statement, or my hoof on his face that woke him, I guess I really did not care. He is awake, so I can give him his verdict. “How nice of you to wake up, at this time? Sadly, you are not to suffer this life for much longer. You see, I know what you are about to do. I can't allow you to do it. Oh, and I know you don't recognise me either. That is of no consequence!” I just pointed out. Now I brought up my blade, demonstrated it to him, I even showed him just how sharp the blade is. “I have no intention to go down. Is I had not been told, I probably would have picked up on it anyway.!” I then hissed in his ear. Hi finally star5ted to stir enough to struggle, at least a bit. Oh no, you don't!” I just proclaimed. Now I simply pressed the blade up against his throat. Slowly increasing the pressure. I just couldn't have him escape now, not after this. Even if some may take him for an insane lunatic? No, I couldn't afford the luxury of any of his kind ever knowing, or believing now. “This is the very last moment of your very last day!” I just stated as I pressed the blade through the skin. First he started to bleed. Then I pressed the blade further and noticed I had cut off the windpipe. A very fragile spices. What are they possibly good for? Once I had cut the head clear off of the body, I left the lifeless form in the huge bead. I had a final detail to deal with. With that I moved out of the room. From there I moved to the outer door. I simply stop, a yard from the door, leaving it closed and locked. Now I brought forth my Canon, only this time it isn't loaded with a cake, balloons, confetti or streamers. As fun as these should have been, I couldn't waste them on him, or would it be the perfect idea. I had a few minutes to spare, so I went back into his room and fetched his watch. With that, my idea clicked, this should be something to remember? I slipped the heavy metal object into the barrel, then as many balloons, as much streamers and confetti as I could muster with the watch. From there the final conclusion was obvious, I push the Canon all the way to the door, before I fired it at point blanc range. It went off and the content blew a whole with much noise. Balloons, confetti and streamers all over the path from the door and out onto the street. I had concluded this deal and went back to his room Canon in tow. I pushed the Canon through, before I followed it back home. Once back in my room, I sipped it up, closing the rift, thus leaving no trace as to where I had come from. All they had to go on is a dead man and the blown out door.
