> Life In Ponyville: Sightseeing > by TheWriter7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Sightseeing > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ponyville has so much more depth than I can ever imagine! Twilight tells me one of her friend's grandmother was even one of the first settlers to come to Ponyville. Applejack, I believe her friend's name was, says she works in an apple farm. Anyway, as we stroll through the town, she tells me every last detail of each building's architecture. I am deeply fascinated with how much she really knows about this town. It's quite refreshing being around some pony who actually has so much interesting factoids. In Manehatten, most pony's seemed more dumb than a stack of hay, but that could just the specific area I lived in. Even so, this shouldn't go on without a compliment. "You sure know a lot about this place, I'm really quite impressed." Her ears fell back, and a faint blush appeared on her face. "It's really not that big of a deal, I do live in a library after all." She then turned her head away, as if she was embarrassed. "Still, it's amazing knowing a pony who has so much knowledge, and intellect about so many topics." I retorted, as I walked around to her other side, trying to make eye contact. "It's nothing to feel embarrassed about." "Really?" She asked, her ears then perking up. "Well, I guess it is nice having some pony to really get to share this knowledge with." "There we go!" I exclaimed, as we continue to walk through the town. .A few minutes pass by as we walk, when shes asks me "You know, we could get you a new cloak." Pointing to my old, brown cloak. "My friend Rarity is an expert in fashion, she could fix you up a new one. It's the least I could do to make your stay a little bit more comfortable." I waved my hoof to her. "Nah, I'm fine with the cloak as it is, it doesn't need any changes." She rolled her eyes toward me, and sighed "I guess not, but I still want to do something to make you more welcomed here." I rolled my eyes back to her, and laughed "Fine." After another fifteen minutes of walking, and Twilight giving me more interesting factoids about each building we crossed. A voice called out, from seemingly out of nowhere. "Hey Twilight, wait up!", Before I could turn to see who the voice belonged to, a flash of rainbow zoomed over our heads and in front of our faces. It was the same cyan-colored pony I asked for directions, a few days ago. "Hey Twilight, who's your friend?" Twilight quickly answered the pony, "Oh, hi Rainbow. This is Ryder." She then turned to me. "Ryder, this is Rainbow Dash." I then waved my hoof to her, as form of greeting her. "I see..." She said suspiciously. She then turned to me, and asked me a very off putting question. "So Ryder, how much is she paying you to be spending the day with her." Me, And Twilight both blushed at the question, which caused Rainbow to burst into laughter. Though it didn't last long, as Twilight then whacked Rainbow on the back of her head with her hoof. "Rainbow!" She exclaimed, still blushing. "It's nothing like that!" I didn't respond to the question, I was still stunned and still blushing over the whole ordeal. "Ow!" Rainbow exclaimed rubbing the back of her head. "Chill out Twilight, take a joke once in a while." "Anyway, what were you two doing?" "Well" Twilight started, "We were talking about the architecture of Ponyville, and it's history." Rainbow then made a rather huge yawn, expressing her boredom. "Why do you always talk about stuff that's boring to other ponies." She the looked, and pointed at me. "I'm sure he doesn't want spend his time listening to some pony talk about walls all day." I then stepped forward, and spoke up. "Actually, I was the one who wanted her to talk about the whole thing in the first place." She gave me a confused look, not expecting me to be the one to talk about such a thing. She then groaned, "Whatever, anyway I've got things to do, so I'll see you to later." She then quickly flew off before any of us could respond. Twilight turned to me, still angry over the whole thing, and began to speak. "You see, that's why I don't share my knowledge with others. They act so uninterested, and rude whenever I do." She then sighed. "Anyway, I've got to go too, Pinkie Pie, needs me to help her set up a welcoming party for some pony." She may have not known who, but me and pinkie both knew it was for me. "How about you come over to the library tomorrow, and we can discuss more on the subject matter?' "Sure thing." I said, she then nodded, than began to trot off. Once again, this town seems to always keep surprising me with it's history, and the ponies who live here. It's funny really, for a town that seems so simple it's actually more layered than I thought. Even more than Manehatten possibly, which is extremely surprising. I guess that's the reason I like this place so much, for a small package, it certainly has big things stored inside of it. Which makes me even more grateful to know some pony like Twilight. Having all that knowledge can certainly help me learn more about this town. Also, she seems to have quite a collection of varied friends, which can always help make a town seem more lively.
