Chapter 1: night 1

It was a night like any other in the crescents for the queen and her grandson. Both were enjoying each other’s company, when Frozen broke the silence.

“What is the matter Hanna? Something is obviously bothering you.” He gave her a look of concern. He knows that she worries over the simplest of things, but this silence is unlike her.

“I have been experiencing reoccurring dreams. The only way to get them off of my chest is to talk about them,” She said fiddling with one of the books on the table.

He put his hand on her shoulder for comfort. “I am here to listen to you.” He took out his quill and book and began to write in it.

She began to cast a spell to put the two to sleep. “It would be better to show you what I have been experiencing instead of talking. My dreams are very detailed and if anything is confusing I will explain.”

*Within the dreams*

Frozen opened his eyes to see a younger, more childlike Hanna. She was clutching her sister tightly and crying.

“Leave my sister alone Drake!” Her aura was slowly becoming unstable, forcing her backwards into a vulnerable position. Drake just smiled as he got what he wanted.

“Dear daughter, please do not resist me. You know, your punishment is only worse if you resist.”
She spread her arms in an effort to protect her sister. “You can abuse me all you want, but Blanca does not need to experience this.” He smiled cruelly and pet her hair.

“That’s a good girl, always obedient to her master. Blanca will watch.” He punched her chest, knocking the wind out of her. She had become accustomed to his sick games, but this time he was much rougher.

“Grandma, you must stop this man!” He was horrified at the poor child getting beaten for no reason.

“I am sorry but I cannot undo any of the pain. This is all a nightmare, nothing more. This is all a misunderstanding. You will see in a later dream.” She stroked his hair gently to comfort him.

The scene faded to show a teen practicing magic. “I must get stronger if I want to protect my sister from him!” the young magician proclaimed. A loud bang could be heard as a field of light surrounded her, forcing her backwards.

The younger sister woke up and groggily stared at her sister. “Hanna give it a rest already, you have been trying to learn this pretty light show for three hours now!”

The young magician sighed and yawned. She knew her sister was right, but something kept nagging at her. “Will you let go of me? I want to sleep with you.” The apprentice smiled at her sister. Something about her sister made her feel strange. Could it be that she loved her, or simply that they were sisters?

The two got into bed and kissed each other before passing out. A few hours later, Hanna felt a hot breath on her lips, jolting her body awake and her tongue slipping into her sister’s mouth. “What do you think you are doing to me?” Hanna blushed and kissed her sister back in confusion.

The young boy turned to his grandmother and made a face. “Hanna, did you love your sister more than you should have?” He blushed brightly, knowing that she was going to mention his sister.

“Frozen, you love your sister. I was still inexperienced with the feeling of love. I am a half-breed of changeling and pony, unable to absorb emotions lest they make me ill.” She pointed at her younger self and told Frozen to watch.

Blanca was panicking after tasting blood on her sister. “Hanna you are bleeding! Let me get you a handkerchief and a glass of water!” She rushed to the kitchen and got the supplies.

Hanna, still being in a love-struck mood didn’t feel anything except her sister’s touch. “Hanna drink up and allow me to take care of you.” Unintentionally Hanna reverted to her changeling self. This occurs on a few occasions and she is lucky that Blanca has not noticed her changeling identity.

A few minutes passed by before Blanca realized that there was a changeling in her sister’s place. “What the hell are you?! You are not my sister, what have you done to her?” She punched her sister, pushing her back onto the bedpost.

“Sis it is me, Hanna Lovelace. Why do you not know me?” Hanna wished she did not need to show her sister this side of herself.

“Sis, it is about time you knew what I was. I am a changeling. The odd part is that I should be able to absorb emotions like normal changelings, but I cannot. That’s why I was bleeding.”

Blanca didn’t trust this imposter, but a few more minutes passed and she began to feel horrible that she hurt her sister. She hugged her sister and wiped the tears away from her eyes.

“Hanna, I do not care what you are or what you will be. I love you. As long as you do not turn out to be like our father, I will love you forever.”

The bittersweet moment was interrupted by the sound of the door falling off its hinges and the marching of hooves into the home.

“We are here because of an attempted assassination of Princess Celestia. If you try to resist, we will use deadly force!” a few guards surrounded the building and one came close to Blanca.

“You would never do that to Celestia would you?” Frozen said.

“At the time, no. I did kill her later after what she had done. I think our time here is done, I am feeling weak despite us being asleep.” As the dream faded away, the queen looked at her grandson, hugging him gently.

“I am glad to see that you are awake. You have been out for three days now Hanna.” A voice whispered into her ear, scaring her. She forced the intruder away with a flick of her hand.

“Angel? How did you get into my private chambers?” She asked her dazed husband and helped him up.

“I entered with the key because the door was locked. Which leads me to my next question; what exactly were you two doing in there?

Hanna blushed and hid her face with her fan. “It isn’t what you are thinking Angel! I did not touch him that way.” He laughed at her and fell on the floor. Her patience was wearing thin. Upset by how her husband viewed her, she teleported off to the top of one of the towers and sat down to admire the view.

“I know my morals have been off lately, but really I am a nice lady.”

She sighed and started to fall asleep before Angel whispered in her ear. “Don’t forget about Morning Glory, and my pet phoenix. Oh, also our daughter.”

She jolted awake and frowned. “I did Morning a favor because she was in heat. I wouldn’t advise it under any other terms. Blaze was just evil. I got stabbed in the stomach with my own dagger and nearly died! Although he was good at what he did, and a tasty meal too. As for Aurora, she came to me and asked for love.”

Her face blushed hard remembering the fun times she had. Although she liked the feeling of being a filly and needed to try it more often. She disliked the notion that the town viewed their queen as a slut, mainly because of the whole changeling incident.

“Hanna, I am only teasing you. You do not need to take it seriously.” He frowned and put his arm around his wife.

She often worried over simple matters and it nearly cost the two their relationship. She finally broke the silence with a kiss.

“I did not marry you to become the queen of a nation, nor did I marry you because you were handsome. I married you because I knew you had a good heart, because I could tame the beast inside you. Never forget that you saved me from living my life at the bottom of a bottle.”

Her thoughts went back to her days as an assistant for Professor Soaking Wet. The days when she was naive and a drunkard. Well… she still was a drinker, but not as much as she had been. She needed to get to Frozen. and finish the dreams to show him more of her past.

“I am sorry sweetie, but I need to get back to Frozen. We are almost caught up to where the nightmares end.” She gave him a peck on the cheek, fell backwards off the spire, and teleported off into the room where Frozen was.

“My wife seriously needs to learn that magic and flying do not mix.” He heard a crash and laughed.

The queen tried to get up from the brief mess she made of their room. “I am terribly sorry for the sudden interruption, but if you could meet me at dusk I would appreciate it.” She blushed at the scene before her.
