"W-What?"

"ah said a-ah think ah l-love ya Star."

Starburst was standing there, mouth agape, a blush already forming on her face. She had just been told by Golden Delicious, a very good friend of hers, her best friend even, that he loved her. She had no idea what to say or what to do. So she thought back to the events of that day. Gold and Her had just been told by Prism that their friend Crystal Clarity had set something in town on fire, and now she was in big trouble. They were galloping/flying towards townsquare and...

~Flashback~

"Okay, where is she being held at?" asked Star, who was flying above Gold and Candy alongside her friends Prism and Whirlwind.

"Last we saw her waaaaasssss at, uhhhh....oh yeah! she was by Golden Harvest's stand," replied Candy.

"Okay, then that's where we're going then."

With a powerful flap of her wings, Star sped up past Prism and the rest of her friends.

"HEEEEEEEEEY! WAIT FOR UUUUUUUUUUUSSS!" Candy screamed at the top of her lungs, much like her mother, and sped off after her. The rest soon followed after them, picking up the pace.

"Okay sir, I understand she burned down her stand, but it was just an accident. I'm sure if she just apologized to the owner of the stand and helped rebuild it, it should be fine."

"She is charged with arson. She burned down the stand trying to get rid of an insect that was bugging her by breathing fire at it. She knew full well that there was a stand in the direction she was pointing when she made that decision."

Prism started chuckling at the pegasus guard who just accidentally made a joke without knowing it, but was quickly silenced by a hoof to his ribs from Whirlwind.

"Ow!" He hissed out.

"Shhh! Be quiet!" Whirlwind said in a hushed voice.

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

Meanwhile the negotiations between Star and the guard were going nowhere fast, so Star decided to bust out her trump card.

"*sigh* Look, I'm just trying to avoid having a good friend of mine getting into trouble over nothing. Now, I'm sure my mother wouldn't want to have to pull herself away from any important business that she may be attending to at the moment to come down and tell you the same thing, right?"

The guard stiffened and began sweating nervously. With a slight stutter he said, "U-Uh n-no, I uhhh, don't t-think that would b-be n-necessary."

Star always hated to have to pull the "My mom is a Princess" card on ponies, but that guard wasn't backing down from his argument. What else was she supposed to do? Very satisfied with her wit at resolving the situation, she proceeded to speak to the guard.

"Very well, you're dismissed."

"O-Of course, your highness."

Normally she would remind the guard about not calling her "your highness," but at this point it didn't bother her. The guard turned and took off into the air, heading for his previous post in the town.

Star turned around to see Claire having the restraint ring on her horn removed, returning her magic to her, and her cuffs removed.

"Sorry about that Claire. You know they are only doing their jobs, right?"

"Yeah, I know. I told the guy that it was an accident, but nooooooo, of course they have to get physical. I am a still a lady."

"Yeah, a big OLD dragon lady!"

Claire gave Prism an unamused look before her attention was brought back to the burnt down stand, the sound of a mare clearing her throat made her look to her right.

"First off, I would like to say that I'm sorry I blew up at you like that. It's just that having my stand burned down was soooo not part of how I planned my day. Secondly, I'll forgive you if you help me rebuild it, okay?"

Claire trotted up to Carrot Top, took a deep breath and said, "I promise, I'll help rebuild it. It was an accident and I'm willing to make up for it by by helping repair your stand for you...I'll even have my younger brother help me, and if you would, could you keep this incident between us, I'd rather not have my parents knowing I burnt down somepony's stand, they'd scale me alive if they found out." she said rather bashfully at the end.

Star and the rest giggle and chuckle as she apologizes to the stand owner.

"Well Claire, now you know wood is flammable."

"Yeah, and bugs love you."

Claire glared at Prism before grinning evilly.

"Hey, I wonder how roasted Pegasus tastes?"

"Meep!"

Prism hid behind Whirlwind and peeked from behind her head.

"Y-Yeah, ummmm funny joke there Claire, hehe uhhhhh, right?"

"Why don't you stick around and find out."

Prism Bolt glanced around nervously before blurting out, "Uhhhh, I just remembered I have to, uhhhh, go to that thing, later dubz!"

And he zoomed off.

Claire couldn't help it, but seeing her friend Prism flying away somewhat terrified of being burnt was too funny for her, and she started laughing. Her laughter was infectious because everypony else started laughing too.

"Oh man," Whirlwind was holding her sides laughing historically. "That was funny, that was nice Claire.

"Hehe, oh silly Priz, he'll be back," said a chuckling Candy.

"Okay, okay, let's get going before more ponies decide to check out what happened here."

"Yeah, and there will be less of a chance for my parents to find out about this."

Claire glanced around a bit checking to see if any of their parents were around, just in case.

"Yeah, okay, let's just all go our separate ways for now."

"Alright, i'mma go look for Priz, see if he's still hiding from Claire the "pony eater," haha. Okay, bye guys!"

"Bye Windy!"

They all called out as she flew away. After she left, they all went their separate ways, all except for Golden and Star Burst. They stayed behind.

Gold turned to Star, thinking for a bit before opening his mouth.

"Hey, do ya want ta come back ta the farm with me?"

Star look down at the ground for a bit before looking back up at him with a hint of a blush on her muzzle.

"S-sure," she stuttered out. Quickly trotting up to his side, they both made there way to Sweet Apple Acres.

~End Flashback~

And those were the events that led up to this moment, Star standing there with a blush on her face, completely speechless in the middle of the path leading to the farm.

Finally finding her voice again, she spoke.

"S-So you l-like me?" she stammered out shakily.

"No Star, ah don't like ya...a-ah love you. *sigh* What ah was going ta say back at the farmhouse, I'm saying right now."

Gold gulped from being so nervous, but he looked into Star's deep purple eyes.

"You're really pretty, prettier then any shining star in the night sky."

Star was blushing like mad now, her face bright crimson in color. Her knees felt weak and her head was spinning from her mind going a mile a minute. The pony who was always level headed. Was at a loss for words. Much like how her mother used to react she did the only thing sensible. She began panicking in her head.

Oh my gosh, h-he really likes me like that? What do I do? What do I say? H-He's still waiting for me to answer him, I should say something. Star looked back at Golden and replied with a shaky voice.

"I-I-I, ummm, t-thank y-you." Star's blush was still as strong as ever. "I, ummm, do you really mean that, Gold?"

Gold had a blush across his muzzle as well now.

"Yeah, ah do, ah have fer quite a while now. I was wonderin', maybe, ya know, if ya want ta I mean, g-go get a bite to eat with me, for lunch ya know?"

Star's eyes widened a bit. 'He's asking me to lunch? L-Like a date!?' Star thought in her head. Of course she already knew the answer to his question.

"Y-Yeah, sure. I'd love to."

"O-Okay."

Star giggled into her hoof.

They walked Side by side to the diner, Gold taking the occasional glance at Star. They reached the outskirts of Ponyville when they realized That they didn't have any bits with them.

"Hehe, silly me, I don't have any bits with me."

Gold chuckled too.

"Yeah, me neither."

"We should go and get some before we go eat, huh?"

"Yeah, that would probably be for the best."

"So, I'll meet you by the fountain?"

"Yeah, okay sure."

"Okay, see ya in a bit Gold."

"See ya, Star."

Both ponies went their separate ways for now. Each going home and retrieving their bits before coming back to the fountain in the square, where they would meet up and go to lunch together. This was just the start of something golden, the start of their lives bursting with happiness.
