What? You thought that Celestia would be a princess forever? Please...

Celestia has been a princess for over a millennium; she fought against Discord, discovered the Elements of Harmony, banished her sister, saved all ponykind several times and made Twilight an alicorn. And now she's leaving!

Why?

Well, because she wants, and because she can!

Bye!

I'm leaving, see ya'

Another beautiful day starts in Equestria. Oh, but what a nice and adorable morning! The birds joyfully chirped at the castle gardens, flowers were blooming under the sun, and a delicious smell of freshly baked bread filled the hallways-

*Cof Cof*

Well, not that delicious...

"Hasten young Twilight! Thy bakery is in flames!"

Never mind, forget everything I said before - This isn't an adorable morning, and there's no delicious smell anymore. Just for the record; is that a bird dying out there?

"Oh my god Princess! Do something, my entire research is inside those breads!" Twilight desperately burst into the kitchen, coughing strongly due to the smoke, Luna confusedly watched the younger alicorn fight mindlessly against the fire.

"Prepare thee to our rage vile flames of Tartarus! For thou shalt never consume my dear Twilight bakery within your flames-"

"Princess it's over." Twilight sighed as she removed a carbonized platter of fuming charcoals breads, from the oven.

"... shall never return to-" Luna finally noticed Twilight's face. "Ah... What did you say?"

"It's over Luna. I've lost it all. Almost an entire month of research about ancient Equestrian bakers, lost in a heartbeat." She rested the tray over a counter, her head hanging low.

"Do not be so sad little one, there must be some hope for these- Erm... Loaves." Luna tried to levitate one of the few remaining breads - only to fail miserably - for it turned into ashes instantly.

"Well... We tried!" She awkwardly smiled.

"Don't worry Princess. It's not your fault at all, I shouldn't have left it on the oven while looking for Princess Celestia." Throwing her 'research' remnants inside a trash can, Twilight turned around to leave the kitchen, but stopped in her tracks when she noticed that the morning sun was already shining.

"By the way, have you seen Celestia today? She's been acting strangely since yesterday." Twilight frowned thoughtfully.

"Now that thou speak about it; I haven't! We believe she must be readying something-"

THUMP

The two mares cocked their heads at the strange sound

"You hear that?" Twilight asked.

"We did-"

... this damned baggage- if at least only one of those worthless guards moved their flanks to help me-

BLAM!

The kitchen door burst open, the large wooden frame broke free from the wall and landed a few hooves ahead. And Princess Celestia, Queen of the Sun, and co-ruler of all Equestria, was responsible for this.

"Finally!" The princess grumbled to herself, still not noticing the two gaping ponies right across the room.

"P-princess C-celestia??" Twilight was the first one to break the silence, followed by Luna.

"Sister, what's happening?"

Celestia was carrying two huge suitcases under her magical grasp, a small one was dragged with a hoof - she immediately froze in place; the floating bags fell on the ground, its contents scattered all over the floor.

"Wha-what are you t-two doing here??" Her pupils shrunk to tiny dots as if she had seen a ghost.

"Shouldn't we be here?"

"I... I-I raised the sun ten minutes ago! Almost everypony is sleeping. What are you doing in the castle kitchens at this time of the morning- And what is this smell I'm scenting?" Ever so discretely, the princess gathered her belongings and placed them back inside the suitcases.

"I was going to collect some fresh water to our jar, when we stumbled against Twilight Sparkle and her experiment." Luna pointed to a small water pitcher over the table.

"I see..." Celestia said "And this smell-"

"Sparkle's research." She held a giggle.

"Princess, what's happening? What's the purpose of these suitcases? Are we going to travel?" Twilight eagerly inquired. She loved traveling, and the princess always took her to amazing places.

Maybe she was planning a surprise! That must be it! All those strange letters, the baggage, her face when she found Twilight in the kitchen.

"Thou will leave on an expedition , and don't even invite us??" Luna frowned. "Are you going to visit that griffon again?" She teased her.

"Luna I don't-"

"Can I go with you Princess? Please please please, I've always dreamed about visiting the griffons kingdom!" Twilight jumped excitedly.

"Twilight, I'm not going to-"

"What about your own sister? Why Sparkle can go with you while we have to stay here?" Luna stomped her hoof on the ground.

"I never said I was-"

"Oh come on Princess, tell me!"

"Thou shall let us go too!"

"Oh my god, oh my god, I'm gonna see griffons!"

"I'M LEAVING!" For the first time in years, Celestia used her Royal Canterlot Voice - not that she cared about that anymore.

"Alone"

Astonished by Celestia's words, Twilight and Luna stayed silent. For a while

"L-leaving? Whiter?" The night princess asked.

"For how long?" Added Twilight.

Come on Celestia, you can't hide this anymore. They would have noticed either way...

But they shouldn't be here! Not when we were just about to escape!

Yes, yes... But I can't undone my plans! What shall we do now? Postpone the whole operation?'

Definitely not! Celly, the truth will come out soon or later!"

You're right, but how are we supposed to tell them?'

Just tell the truth! They must know.

Ending her telepathic debate, Celestia sighed. Right in front of her, stood Luna and Twilight - her sister, and her apprentice. Also the cause of most of her problems.

"Very well..." She began.

"I'm leaving for- I don't know. Forever? That's a long time huh?" She giggled, unlike the other princesses, who just blankly stared at her.

"Thou say what?" Luna cocked an eyebrow.

"Yes Lulu, you heard that. I'm leaving forever and ever and ever! Ha!!" Celestia laughed as if she had said the best joke of all times.

"Princess are you okay? I mean, we have excellent psychologists here in Canterlot, It would be no shame for you to visit one of them." Twilight worriedly suggested. Fearing for her mentor sanity.

"Okay? I'm way more than just okay! I'm more 'okay' than ever, in fact, I don't feel so good since I sent Luna to the moon!" Now it was the night princess turn to gape.

"W-what?? I thought you... You said from the depths of thine heart that you immensely regretted about that incident!"

"Are you kidding? Those were the greatest days of my life! No little sister to teach, and no other princess to share the throne. Of course that by the time you returned, I didn't cared about this silly princess thing anymore - and that's the reason of why you're here, and not on a space rock." She started to walk towards a window, only to be barred by one of Twilight's wings.

"Hahaha, very funny of you Princess, but can we stop this joke now? I'm not very comfortable with it..."

"I-I'm sorry, but- joke?" Celestia asked.

"Surely this must be just one of thine jests; even though, April Fools was a week ago." The night princess remarked.

"Well, I'm sorry for disappointing you Lulu, but this is no 'jest'. I was about to leave by the back door, when I found you two here." Always in her usual serene tone she continued with the explanation;

"I've lived for over three thousand years, do you two have any idea of how it feels like to somepony like me, to rule an entire nation for millenniums?" Twilight and Luna just silently shook their heads negatively.

"I thought so..."

"But Princess, this is madness! A-and all your kind, all your subjects??" Twilight desperately stated.

"Well, I'm sure they will be fine- after all, you and Luna will be there to take care of them."

"WE WHAT?" The two said in unison.

"Of course it has to be you two! Who else would rule Equestria? Blueblood? I don't want the country to turn into a hard cider distillery." She chuckled.

"But that's impossible! You are the Sun Queen, you're irreplaceable! Who will raise the sun if you leave?" Twilight uncontrollably paced around the kitchen, her lungs hyperventilating.

"Am I?" Celestia asked.

PUFF

After a small cloud of pinkish smoke dissipated, the two younger princesses could observe in awe as the ancient shape of the sun princess walked out from the mist.

An alicorn, about Luna's size, long and pale pink mane, with a sun-

"Sister! Where is thy Cutie Mark?" Luna pointed to Celestia's blank flank. Before she could hear the answer, a scream echoed through the castle.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what have you done to my body??"

Twilight hopelessly collapsed on the ground, looking to her now long and slender legs and hooves.

"My- M-my... MY CUTIE MARK!"

As Luna saw Twilight Sparkle, she instantly noticed the reason of her screams.

"You turned Sparkle into a Sunbutt!?"

As the now 'Sunny' Twilight raised from her whining fur ball, Luna couldn't help but laugh at her face. The dismayed alicorn was tall as the old Celestia, in fact, you could even say she looked like a lavender tinted sun princess.

"Why?? Why me?"

"Congratulations Twilight! I, Princess Celestia, declare you, the new and formidable; Princess Twilight of the Sun! Now you don't have to worry about my absence anymore."

"Oh, and before I forget-" She threw Twilight's old crown through the window, and placed her own personal jewelry on her.

"Now now... Look at you!" She smiled "Isn't she a gorgeous sun princess?" Luna awkwardly nodded.

"I have to say Twilight, when I released Discord to test you, I've never expected you to last 'till the end! But well... You survived huh?" She patted her shoulder. "I mean, of course that I made up a beautiful story about the 'Elements of Harmony' and how you defeated him with your friends and all."

"Y-you you you- But the e-elements, they're a-ancient artifacts!" Twilight justified.

"Yes yes, they truly are! However, they're nothing but some pretty crystals I used to entertain Luna." Their jaws dropped. "What? You really thought the 'magic of friendship' was responsible for all those rainbows and multicolored light shows?" She snorted

"What's the purpose of this 'Tia??"

"Lulu, I don't want any more lies in my life. If I'm gonna leave, at least I can left the truth behind." She thought for a while then continued. "Oh, and I slept with your coltfriend a thousand years ago... I'm sorry."

"We knew it was your fault!!" Luna hissed at her.

"Princess, If all you're saying is truth; where are you going?" Finally managing to speak, Twilight Sunbutt asked.

"Oh, I was just awaiting for this question!" Searching for something inside her bags, Celestia retrieved a small booklet and gave to her.

'Multidimensional Spa for Immortal Beings'

"A spa?" Twilight raised her head from the paper. "You're leaving Equestria... To live in a Spa???"

"Sure, why not? I'm immortal, I'm tired of you all, and I have a free spa!"

"But Sister! I'm immortal too! Why do we have to stay here with Sparkle??"

"Luna!" Twilight cried.

"I'm sorry Luna, but the Spa is restricted to beings with at least three thousand years. You're just a baby with your one and a half millennium; maybe in the future?" Celestia's horn blinked on a pale yellow light.

"Oh my! I'm sorry 'princesses', our little chat was really interesting, but you know... I have a dimensional travel to do, and eternal wonders to enjoy!" She grabbed her suitcases and walked to a side balcony. "Are you coming Discord?"

CLICK!

As ever, Discord spawned in mid air, wearing sunglasses and a white towel around his neck.

"Of course! I was just waiting for- Hahahahahahahaha" He pointed and laughed at Twilight.

"Isn't she adorable like that?" He wiped a tear from his eye.

"Yes she is!" Celestia chuckled. "I'm sure she will become a great princess; nothing compared to me of course..."

Twilight and Luna were completely dumbfounded, not saying a word. Merely observing the most unexpected development ever thinkable.

"No. But she'll find a way!" Celestia added. .

"Of course she will!" Discord said. "Now- shall we go? I'm sure that Wolverine guy must be awaiting for us!"

"Sure... Well, my best wishes for you two! Hope we'll see again in the future, or well- Better not."

"Anyway, I'm leaving, see ya'!"

It was all in a blur - a few seconds later, the Princess and Discord were gone. Forever

The two ponies stayed there staring at the ground, the smell of burnt bread still in the air. The facts slowly sinking into their brains.

A creepy grin started to form on Luna's face.

"Well..." She said, drawing Twilight out of her trance.

"Now that she's gone..."

"THE NIGHT, SHALL LAST FOREVER"

And that's it - Twilight had her first heart attack! Or was it an aneurysm? I don't really know. But don't worry, she's fine; and Luna? Well, she was just kidding. I think so.

After all, It's all about friendship and immortality isn't it?
