two dark figures were watching a monitor, observing as some "events" were unfolding in a grassy clearing. the event in question was pinkish-white alicorn and a purple unicorn being in distress over a crazed looking griffin assaulting a human.

which was very, VERY odd. as humans aren't native to this particular world.

the woman sitting in her chair chortled lightly as the alicorn screaming bloody murder at the griffin, and, the unicorn was in tears. the human looked severely injured, barely even conscience. the griffin looked ready to kill him.

"is this LIVE?" questioned the woman

"yes, my lady." replied the other female

"then, I've seen enough."

the second female eyed the woman. "Ma'am??"

"set coordinates, and engage warp..it's time to make ourselves known to the locals."

the second female nodded. "yes, mistress..as you command."

Never before had Celestia been so distressed in her hundred years of life.

she had thought that today would be a 'perfect day' to take a stroll in the park with her apprenctice, and her dear son.
to spend some time with Onyx, and come to terms with the apparent relationship that he was sharing with Twilight.

..but, she was WRONG. somehow, the griffin emperor who "kidnapped" her son so many years ago, and tortured him for ten years had breached Canterlot.

his attack came without warning..so fast, that neither her, nor Twilight had time to react.


Now, her son..her most precious treasure was unconscious, and at the mercy of a true sadist who made no secret of wanting his head as a trophy.

and, she was powerless to do anything about it, as the emperor had the foresight to his guards with stones that nullified her magic.


the normally calm and controlled princess..was at wit's end.



 "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM!!!" shouted Celestia, angry tears in her eyes


the griffin emperor just smirked, Celestia's threat doing little to intimidate him. "now, celestia..you should know by now that I 'always' get what I want."


the griffin then drew out a talon and gently scratched Onyx's cheek, bleeding it. "and, what I want..is PAYBACK."


Twilight grinded her teeth, her horn sparking. "let. him. GO!!, you BUCKING BAS-!!" Twilight was cut off by a griffin guard striking her across the face


"SILENCE, Grass Eater!!" snapped the griffin


"If she does that again..cut her throat open." said the Emperor, grinning evilly


Celestia glared hatefully at the griffin. "d*mn you, gryffin..d*mn your wretched soul to tartarus."


almost as if he heard her, the griffin emperor held up Onyx's limp head..showing Celestia her son. the sun princess felt her heart stop as the place the sharp end of his talon against his throat, puncturing his skin slightly. "say goodbye to your "little boy", celestia."

tears fell from Celestia's face, a look of shock frozen upon it. "no." Gryffin punctured Onyx flesh 'harder', bleeding him a bit. "NO!!"


Celestia had to shut her eyes, refusing to watch the imminent death of the one she loved most. in a flash, her whole life with Onyx played in her mind like a play.

the night she found him in those bushes as a baby..and, the love she felt for him. how she watched him grow from a "foal", to a "Stallion"..and, the pride she felt at what he became.

she then mentally cursed herself for ever falling for Gryffin's earlier deception..a deception that robbed her son of a happy childhood, and made her hate herself MORE than when she had to banish her sister one-thousand years ago.

now..it was all going to end. part of her wished, HOPED this was all a horrible nightmare..but, it wasn't.


"onyx..i'm sorry." choked Celestia. deep in her heart, she prayed for a miracle..some way to spare her son of this cruel, undeserved fate.


then, miraculously..her prayers were answered.



 WHIRRRRRRRRRR-CRAAASH!!



Celesia, Twilight (and, even Gryffin) gasped at a blinding flash of light in the sky..as a tremendous shadow loomed over them, they looked up..and, their jaws dropped at what they saw.


"by faust.." said Celestia, stunned


High up in the sky..was a SHIP. but, it was unlike any ship any of them had ever seen. for one thing, the ship was made of metal, instead of wood. and, it's shape confused both Pony and Griffin alike.

it's sheer size was so massive, it made dragons seem like sparrows in comparison. it almost seemed..ALIVE.

Gryffin was flabbergasted. so shocked was he, that he dropped Onyx as he stared at the object.


"wha-WHAT TRICKERY IS THIS!!?" exclaimed Gryffin, his eyes glued to the massive airship.


Twilight also stared, her mind racing at what this could possibly be. "p-princess celestia..what. IS THAT!!?"

Celestia touched her mouth with her hoove. "i..i don't know."

Suddenly, an intense beam of light shined down upon the group. the light was coming from the ship, meaning whoever (or, WHATever) captained it..could SEE them.

at this moment Onyx began to regain consciousness..and, saw the colossal ship himself.


a hatch then opened up underneath the ship..and, something began to lower down from it. as it grew closer, the group could see that it was a smaller aircraft. no larger than a carriage.

it landed gently on the ground before them all. Celestia tried to see inside of it, but the red tinted window made it impossible to see the pilot.

she didn't have to wonder who was inside for very long..with a loud HISS, the strange aircraft opened up. a dense, misty fog that was red in color spilled out. concealing the true form of whoever was inside even further.


they saw movement..a figure was stepping out of the vehicle. they heard footsteps..which approached them. they all froze completely still. unsure just who or what was approaching them (and, wary on whether it was a threat or not.)

but, once the mist faded..they all gasped in shock. Onyx was the most shocked.


"it..it CAN'T be." stuttered Onyx, stunned


standing before them..was a bipedal creature with hairless Caucasian skin. it was a creature just like Onyx: a HUMAN.

even stranger was that this creature looked nearly exactly like Onyx: Same "mane" as black as coal, same eyes as blue as the brightest sapphire. but, this creature was FEMALE, unlike Onyx.


the human female approached, then stopped. she looked right at the stunned Onyx (who was still on the ground) she looked at him with a very plain, unreadable expression..then, a smile slowly formed on her face.

at last, Onyx found his voice. "yo-, your..You're just like ME."

the human woman said nothing. she just continued to stare at Onyx, her eyes casting an almost hypnotizing gaze.

Celestia was also shocked at this. while she loved Onyx unconditionally..She was stunned to see another of his species.
up until recently, she thought Onyx was the only one of his kind.

of course, looking at the airship again..she guess that she (and, technically Onyx) weren't native to Equestria.

Part of her felt relieved, overjoyed even that Onyx wasn't the only..whatever he was that exists. BUT, she was also wary of this woman: While the same species as Onyx..she was NOT Onyx, and could very well be just as dangerous was Gryffin.


..Speaking of which.


"YOU!!. Woman!!" shouted the Griffin Emperor, as he approached the two


the woman eyed Gryffin, her expression that of annoyance.


"i don't know who or WHAT you are..but, that CREATURE belong to m-GAAAAAAAHHH!!!!" Gryffin was immediately silenced by the strange woman, whose hand glowed with a "red magic" and fired a beam at the Griffin, knocking him several feet away.

THIS made both Celestia and Twilight shocked and confused: If the strange woman truly is of the same species as Onyx..then, HOW can she use Magic!?: Onyx can't use magic, he NEVER could!!

none had time to think of this, however..as Gryffin's guards reacted immediately to their king being attacked.


 "B*TCH!!" "WH*RE!!" cursed the guards, as they abandoned their equine hostages, and advanced towards the human

the woman, however..show no fear as the griffin's advanced. she only smirked, and muttered what sounded like "fools."

she then charged both her hands with "magic". This time, it crackled and sparked like lightning. as the griffins closed in on her..she launched crimsom lightning at the two, halting their advanced.

as electrical energy surged through their bodies, the griffins let out the most bloodcurdling screams Celestia had EVER heard. they were suffering. the woman jerked her hands swiftly. sending the two flying, their paralyzed bodied skidding across the grass.

Twilight's mouth gaped open, totally in shock and awe at what she just witnessed. SOMEHOW, this "female onyx" single handedly brought down the Griffin Ruler, and two of his best guards. and, without even blinking an eye.

the woman then looked back at Onyx..who stared wide eyed at her, equally shocked. she then smiled..and, reached out an open hand to him. accepting this offer of kindness, Onyx took her hand and was helped back to his feet.


"I hope I didn't startle you." said the woman, at last


"uhh.." Onyx was at a loss for words. he at last pulls his hand away, letting out a breath. "um..th-thank you."


at last, Celestia found the nerve to approach the stranger. Twilight did so as well. putting her shock and confusion aside, Celestia tried to regain her diplomatic composure and spoke to the stranger softly.


"Miss..y-you have my thanks for saving my son, my student AND myself."

the woman looked at the Alicorn..and, smiled. "of course. it was no problem at all."

"who ARE you?!" said Twilight, her tone sounding rather forceful

the woman grinned. "I am called 'Helix', and as you have probably guessed: I am of the same species as..umm. DEAR ME, I never caught your name."

Onyx was only too eager to speak. "I-I am ONYX. Prince Onyx Sol, son of Princess Celestia."

Helix eyed Celestia. "I assume YOU are Princess Celestia, then."

"I am." replied Celestia "and, this is Twilight Sparkle..my most faithful student."

Twilight raised her hoove, smiling. "I'm Prince Onyx's marefriend."

 THIS made Helix raise an eyebrow. "i'm sorry..What?!"

"I'm his Marefriend. we're dating." Helix remained dumbfounded at this..but, eventually regained a calmer composure. "hmm..how very interesting."

Onyx spoke again. "Apologies if I seem..over-enthusiastic. but, I have so many questions."

Helix looked at the young man. "What..ARE we!?, what are you..WHAT AM I!!?"

"You mean you don't know?!" inquired Helix

"no..he does not." began Celestia, facing Helix "I found him when he was only a baby. I do not know the name of his species, nor do I know his origin..or, how he came to be in my domain. All I knew was that he was a motherless child..one who I have raised and nurtured as my own.

but, as YOU appear to be of the same species as my son..you may answer the question that has hung over both our heads for decades."

Onyx faced Helix again."can you PLEASE tell me..I have to know."

"The only thing YOU will know is AGONY, You little b*stard!!"

the group looked, and saw Gryffin had recovered from Helix attack. struggling to get up. while the others had a mix of fear and anger on their faces..Helix looked more annoyed.

"Do you MIND!!?" snapped Helix, her fists on her hips "I'm trying to have a conversation here. and, it's RUDE to butt in unannounced."

"RAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!!" Gryffin pounced, his talons reaching out for his new prey.

Helix merely scoffed at this. charging her hand with "magic" again, she struck her hand out just as the Griffin King was about to tackle her..sending a surge of crimson lightning through his body, and repulsing him away once more.

as he wringled in pain, Helix took a few steps towards him. "Normally I am a patient woman. hardly anything gets under my skin..but, YOU are beginning to annoy me, Beast!!"

"he is far lower than a Beast." growled Onyx, his tone dark and hateful "he kidnapped me as a child, tortured me..tried to turn me into a weapon."

"He's a MONSTER!!!" snapped Twilight, angry tears in her eyes

Helix grinned at this. "is he, now??"

Celestia nodded, trying to repress her own tears. "he IS..he is practically the "Spawn of Tirek."

Helix continued to grin wickedly. "well..it's a good thing I brought my OWN monster."

before Celestia could inquire this, Helix turned to her aircraft. "SCARLETT!! TO ME!!"

without warning, another figure leapt from out of the vehicle, did a somersault in midair, and finally dropped down before them with perfect grace and finesse.

as she rose up..they all saw it was a female human like Helix. BUT, she looked different. her skin tone was darker than Helix, her "mane" was red like fire and frizzy like a bear, and her eyes..her dark eyes were green like emeralds. and, staring into them was like staring into an empty pit for Twilight.

"yes, lady helix??" said Scarlett, her voice monotoned and accented

Helix pointed at the downed Gryffin. "see that creature??..I want you to "teach him some respect."

Scarlett's deadpanned face slowly turned into a sadistic smile (it disturbed Onyx, as it was the SAME face that Gryffin gave him during his "combat training")

"as you command." said Scarlett, who casually walked towards the Griffin King

Helix crossed her arms as she watched. the other looked confused, but decided to stay quiet and watch too.

Scarlett stopped and faced Gryffin..who looked up at her. Scarlett grinned and toothy grin, then flexed out her hands like claws. "time to BLEED." said Scarlett, with sadistic glee

before Gryffin could react..Scarlett slash as his face, sending blood flying from it. blinded, and in pain, Gryffin could hardly react as Scarlett proceeded to slash at him with lightning fast movement.

SOMEHOW, the human was cutting away at his body as if she had talons..and, the redness of her hands indicated she was indeed drawing blood.

finally, Gryffin recovered enough to make his own move. he narrowly dodged Scarlett's next slash, backing away quickly. screeching loudly, he tried to attack his opponent. but, her movements were too fast. he only managed to nick her flesh. it bled her, but she barely even noticed the minor flesh wounds

Scarlett then struck at the Griffin's jaw with her knee..which made a loud cracking noise. she then grabbed his beak, holding it shut in her tight grip. she jerk hard, and threw him into a nearby tree..the impact made a loud cracking sound.

Celestia stared with wide eyes, shocked at the sheer brutality that this other human was inflicting upon the Griffin.
true. she HATED Gryffin for all he has done: To her, her son..even his own griffins. but, some small part of her almost felt pity for her enemy..ALMOST.

Onyx, however..was watching every moment of this: Never once blinking. to him, this was a dream some true. his every fantasy of revenge against the monster that ruined his life becoming reality.

even if somebody else was doing it..he felt satisfied.


Gryffin groaned, his body throbbing with pain..but, his suffering was only beginning.


 "GYAAAAAHH-AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" Gryffin cried out as what felt like talons impaled him in the back.


Scarlett was indeed on his back, slowing digging her sharp fingers into his flesh.


"ohhhh..YES!!" Scarlett moaned, then giggled as she continued to claw into his back. it was almost as if Scarlett gain some 'sick pleasure' out of butchering the griffin. if Twilight hadn't known any better, she could SWEAR this Scarlett was having an "orgasm"

Helix, however..just rolled her eyes, finding Scarlett's behavior annoying and distasteful.

Scarlett finally ripped her hands out of Gryffin's back, sending blood flying in all directions. she then grabbed his neck, lifted him up and forced the griffin king to face her.

Scarlett kept her hand wrapped around his throat like a vice, smirking. as Gryffin looked at her..Scarlett began her next brutal attack.
reeling her free arm back..she punched Gryffin HARD into the stomach, the force of the blow making a loud noise.

she continued to punch him in the gut. Blow after blow seemingly stronger than the last. Celestia cringed at this, feeling disturbed at the brutal violence.

Finally, Scarlett released Gryffin..who fell to his knees, and vomited large quantities of blood and bile. he looked up..just in time to see Scarlett kick him hard in the face. Scarlett then pinned him down to the ground with her foot.

he then gripped his head in her palm, lifting it up slightly. Scarlett bore a predatory look on her face, an inhuman growl escaping her throat.

she looked ready to KILL (and, Celestia feared that was her intent.)


"SCARLETT." Scarlett stopped, breaking out of her "trance". she looked at Helix "enough..I think he's learned his lesson, now."


Scarlett cast a glare at Helix..but, relented to her command. with one last act of aggression, Scarlett bashed Gryffin's skull against the ground. she then stood up, brushed some dirt off of her clothing and walked back casually..as if NOTHING happened.


"will there be anything else, my lady??" asked Scarlett, stopping for a moment


"no. that will be all." Scarlett nodded, then returned to the aircraft.


Helix then looked back at Onyx, and smiled.


"so..whose up for Dinner in my ship??"

Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle and Onyx found themselves at a large dinner table aboard Helix's airship. all three were still stunned at recent events, and their minds were racing. Wondering if Helix and Scarlett were possible allies..or, new enemies.

Celestia was about to saw something..when a door opened, and Helix came walking in. she was wearing a type of clothing that Filthy Rich might wear, only it was colored dark red. she bore a pleasant smile on her face.

"I hope I didn't keep you all waiting for too long." began Helix, as she took her seat

"oh, n-not at all..m-miss helix." replied Celestia, trying to be polite

Helix smiled as she sat down with her guests. "apologies for the inconvenience..my cooks are held up, so we may have to wait several minutes for the food. leaves us Plenty of time to talk."

Twilight eyed the woman. "Where's Scarlett??"

"not here." said Helix, bluntly "after her "disciplinary action" on the griffin, I felt it best she not attend..you know, give you all some space."

Celestia grimaced. the images of Scarlett's brutality still fresh in her mind.

"I apologize, of course. Scarlett is a good soldier..BUT, she tends to go a bit "overboard" sometimes. you have no idea the trouble she can get herself into when I leave her to her own devices."

"Why DOES she behave that way??" asked Twilight, still feeling wary

Helix shrugged. "Scarlett has lived a difficult life. grew up on the streets with NO family, NO friends. she did what she had to survive..Sadly, it's left her "damaged" in some ways."

"oh, my..that poor girl." said Celestia, feeling sympathy for her at last

Helix smiled, chortling softly in her throat. "WELL, enough about that..I believe you had "other" questions for me."

Onyx nodded. "yes, I'd like to kno-"

"What you are..and, WHERE you truly come from." said Helix, cutting him off.

"uhh..Yeah, yeah I do."

Helix grinned, chortling again. she took a pitcher of water and poured herself some in a tall, slim glass. she took a moment to have herself a drink (milking in the suspense of the moment)

"AHH..that's better." Helix looked at Onyx..and, smiled. "The scientific term for our kind is "Homo Sapien".

"ho-What?!" questioned Onyx

"BUT, for the most part..we are called HUMANS." continued Helix

Celestia made a mental note of that name. At last, her son's species had a name.

"are there..Others like me-Us." asked Onyx, hanging on Helix every word as if she was all-knowing

"oh, yes..BILLIONS." replied Helix "There are as many of our kind in our world, as there are stars in the empty night sky."

"and, what is the name of your domain??" asked Celestia

Helix grinned again. "Earth. I know, not as fantastic sounding as 'Equestria'. But, that is what we call our world."

Onyx looked at Helix again. "What is it like?, the world that I come from??"

Helix smirked, then made a gesture with her hand. "look at my ship..what does THAT tell you??"

this left Celestia and Twilight's minds boggled. Helix's airship was Massive, beyond even Celestia's comprehension. even she couldn't imagine a whole world of apparent heavy metal and colossal machinery.

"wow..that sounds remarkable." said Twilight, her scientific mind in overdrive "Your world must be Utopia!!"

Helix smirked. "it isn't without it's flaws..but, I would rather live there, than HERE."

Celestia raised her brow. "why ARE you here??, and how did you get here?!"

"I'm a scientist, and an explorer." began Helix "using an invention of my own design, I like to travel beyond the boundaries of my own dimension, and research other worlds. When my "sources" informed me of this particular world, and travelled here without hesitation. although, I never expected to find one like Onyx living in such place."

Helix smiled. "You can understand my scientific curiosity."

"Oh, you don't have to explain that to me." said Twilight "I know EXACTLY how you feel."

Onyx looked at Helix again. "before..when (clear throat) G-Gryffin attacked. you used some kind of Magic to stop him..HOW is that possible!?, Mom said that I can't use magic, so-"

"It isn't magic." said Helix, bluntly "during one of my science experiments, I was accidently exposed to an unknown energy that granted me special talents. Normally, Human don't have fantastic abilities of ANY kind."

Onyx looked down..then, looked back at Helix. "you th-think you could..give ME powers like yours??"

Celestia and Twilight looked at Onyx, surprised at his request.

"hmm..Perhaps. my understanding of the energy has progressed profoundly now, so it shouldn't be a problem."

Helix eyed Onyx. "I assume you have a good reason for wanting such power."

"Mom always worried or me." began Onyx, his tone serious "I can't use magic, I can't fly and I'm not very strong. the whole reason I found myself in King Gryffin's clutched, was because we THOUGHT he would teach me how to defend myself."

"Let me guess..the "Chicken Pussy" training wasn't what you expected."

Onyx cringed as he recalled the suffering he endured in the Gryphon Kingdom. "no..it wasn't."

Onyx looked back at Helix. "but, YOU..you brushed him off like he was nothing. If I had powers like you, then..maybe I could defend myself better."

Celestia looked at her son with sad eyes. "onyx.."

"Having Power, and knowing how to use it is two different things, BOY." began Helix, acting like a stern teacher "All the power in the world is worthless without proper training: You want to be like ME??, then you'll need the whole package."

Helix placed her glass down. "Now, I have a question for you."

Onyx looked at Helix. "uhh..Sure."

"The unicorn said you were..DATING. is this true??"

Onyx glanced at Twilight..then, looked at Helix. "um..yeah. why?!, is something wrong??"

"not really sure, really..I just find it rather odd."

Celestia eyed Helix, not sure she liked her tone. "and, what do you mean by that, Miss Helix??"

"well..while your kind possess human-like sentience. Physically, you are still animals..Beasts."

Onyx stood up, glaring. "WHAT did you just call her!!?"

"Calm DOWN, I wasn't insulting her..just speaking as a scientist." Onyx sat down, attempting to calm himself while Helix explained.

"you see..in OUR world, Humans are the only intelligent life forms that exists. Equines also exist, but they aren't intelligent. in fact, they are quite mindless, behaving on pure instinct. Humans like to keep them as pets, actually-"

 "PETS!!?"exclaimed Twilight, shocked at this


"So, you can understand why I find THIS world so fascinating. a world dominated by equine beasts capable of human intellect and speech..it's Remarkable."

Twilight almost felt offended in some way. but, as a scientist herself, she had to remind herself that she too was no different from Helix when she encountered non-ponies who are sentient.

she decided to let it go, and accept this shocking reality.

"Given that Twilight here ISN'T mindless..I suppose one couldn't call her "an animal" STILL, she is physically a Beast, which would make any plans for starting a family impossible."

Both Onyx and Twilight lowered their heads sadly. "we..c-could always Adopt. like mom did with me."

"True, but let's face facts: You aren't immortal like your dear mother, Onyx." began Helix, smirking "sooner or later..your time will come, be it by murder, illness or old age. and, while Celestia may live on for another thousand years or so..YOU will become a distant memory, eventually forgotten by all.

Tragically, future generation will NEVER know you were ever here. as if you never existed."

As Helix poured another glass of water, Onyx looked down..fearing Helix's words were TRUE. Helix the offered Onyx a glass. "Thirsty??" Onyx took it. "thanks."

"we have a proverb in my world.." continued Helix "TRUE Immortality is gained through one's children."

Celestia found much wisdom in those words. "Still, given that you and Twilight are incompatible..that would make it difficult."

"Do you HAVE to rub it in!!?" snapped Onyx, getting annoyed

Helix only smirked a Onyx anger. "Hey, I said because she is a beast, she cannot give you children. BUT, if she were an Anthro, well..that would be different."

Celestia and Twilight stared at the woman. "Anth-"

At that moment, door opened and in came Helix's servants with food. but, the equines were stunned at seeing that the servants were not only Equines themselves..but Equines with Human-like bodies. "ah, good..the food is here." said Helix

Celestia and Twilight stared at these strange "ponies" they looked so much like their own kind, but were bipedal and stood upright like Onyx. only their legs bore hooves, as their arms possessed hands (which they used to place the plates of food down on the table)

"Apologies for the long wait, Lady Helix." began a Humanoid Stallion

"You are forgiven, Ignatius" said Helix. "Did you get the orders right??"

"Yes. I prepared a vegan diet for our Equine guests.." the Humanoid Mares placed down food that indeed looked appetizing to Celestia and Twilight "and, a variety for yourself, and Prince Onyx Sol."

Onyx looked, and saw his place at a steak and some mashed potatoes.

"thank you, Ignatus..you may leave, now." the Stallion nodded. "my lady."

the Stallion, and the "Mare Maids" all left the room in an orderly fashion. Helix then smirked as she saw the others looking at her.

"I hope you took a good hard look at my 'staff'. for THOSE..are anthros, hyper evolved animals with human-like bodies to match their intelligent minds."

"where do..THEY come from??" inquired Celestia

"They aren't native to your world, if that is what you are wondering." replied Helix "They are the result of an invention of mine, which transformed once mindless beasts into superior life forms."

Helix grinned sinisterly, eyeing Twilight Sparkle "and, BECAUSE they are human-like..they are more compatible with humans themselves."

Twilight looked down, her mind racing (Helix sensed her mixed feelings..and, smiled wide at it.) "well..Enough talk, time to dig in."

as Helix dined with her guests..TWO shadowed figured observed them via video monitors.

"wow..she's good." said a female, who appeared to be an Anthro Mare

"what makes you so sure??" questioned Scarlett

"did you SEE the way Twilight and that Human reacted to her words: She has them hooked."

Scarlett grumbled. "perhaps..but, I fail to see much point in all this."

the anthro mare charged her hands (and, unihorn) with bluish-green energy. "NEVER question our mistress. She has a plan, she ALWAYS has a plan."

Scarlett scoffed "Sunset, you are SUCH a brown nose."

"I am loyal..unlike SOME that I have the misfortune of knowing." Scarlett growled in her throat, but brushed off the insult.
Finally, she turned and marched off. "and, where are YOU going!?" snapped Sunset

"I have more important things to do than watch our "glorious leader" spin her webs. more interesting things."

Sunset scoffed. "carry on, then." Scarlett scoffed as she left.

a door opened..and, in walked Scarlett. she smirked at she looked up her captive: the beaten and broken King Gryffin.

despite what she said, Helix didn't really think the griffin "learned his lesson" and, instructed his capture and imprisonment while she prepared Dinner for Celestia, Twilight and Onyx.

the REAL reason she didn't want Scarlett to attend..was so she could further school the sadistic king in "good manners"


Gryffin was unconscious, having passed out from his lass "session" with Scarlett. but, it was time for his next lesson. Scarlett grabbed a syringe, walked up to the griffin and injected him with something.


"GYAAAAAAAAAHHH, AHH-AHH-AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" screeched the Griffin King.

"aw, good..your awake." said Scarlett, circling the binded griffin like a predator. Gryffin stared with wide eyes as Scarlett wielded a Prod, which sparked with electricity. "let's take it from the TOP, shall we!?"


> Part Two: The Harbinger

 It was a fairly quiet dinner aboard Helix airship. every once in awhile, Celestia took a glance at everypony/one at the table: her student, Twilight. her son, Onyx. and their mysterious host: Helix.

Finally, Celestia stopped eating and spoke again. "m-miss helix.."

Helix looked to the alicorn, a plain look on her face. "yes??"

"I must once again thank you for coming to me son's rescue.."

"oh. think nothing of it." said Helix, acting flattered

"Sorry, but I must: Onyx means everything to me." this made blush for a moment. "mom."

"I get the feeling you want to say something ELSE." said Helix, eyeing Celestia

Celestia nodded. "yes. I do, I was wondering what you plan to do here in my-Our world."

Helix smirked as she sat back in her chair. "I already explained to you, Princess: I am a scientist. as such, my purpose here is strictly scientific research.

I wish to learn more of this world..and, MAYBE aid it in whatever trouble plagues it."

Celestia had a plain looking expression. "Forgive me if I sound ungrateful after all you've done..but, I can't help but feel your generosity is too good to be true."

Surprisingly, Helix took NO offense to Celestia's words. "not at all, Your Majesty..I would expect no less."

Helix then leaned forward, looking straight at the alicorn. "So, TELL YOU WHAT: I'll let you spend one day and night aboard my ship as guests. you'll have free reign of the place, and see for yourself that you have nothing to fear from me."

Helix then smiled wide. "besides..I am sure young Onyx still has MANY questions to ask on the subject of his "heritage". can't think of a better way to learn more than extending his stay here."

Onyx could barely contain his excitement. "R-Really!?"

Helix grinned at the human prince. "I told you SOME of your identity..but, not all. you still have so very much to learn."

Onyx looked to his mother. "Mom, CAN we!?"

"Oh, my YES, Princess." began Twilight "It would be quite the learning experience to spend twenty-four hours here on this extraordinary vessel."

Celestia thought about this for a bit. On one hoove, she wasn't sure it was wise to stay with complete strangers..strangers who had already demomstrated just how dangerous they can be.

then again..Helix didn't appear to be an immediate threat, and had kindly offered them sanctuary in her "home" and, this seemed as good a chance as any to learn more of this Helix, and why she was here.

"well..I'll have to send a message to my sister, informing that I will be away until tomorrow. but, YES. I suppose we could stay." Celestia looked at Helix "We accept your offer, Miss Helix."

Helix smiled wide. "splendid." just then, an anthro horse guard walked over to Helix and whispered something in her ear.

"Really?? hmm..tell her I'll be right there." the guard nodded, and Helix got up out of her chair.

"Is something wrong??" asked Celestia, curious

"Oh, nothing really..Scarlett's having difficulty with a particular task, and is requesting my assistance in the matter."

"Maybe I can help!!" chirped Twilight, starting to emerge from her seat

"That won't be neccesary." said Helix, raising a hand to the unicorn "I have the situation well in hand. If I need any help, I will call."

Twilight sat back down. "oh..okay."

Helix then snapped her fingers..and a familiar anthro equine marched over. "Ma'am?!"

"Ignatus, give our guests the 'grand tour' of The Harbinger. I will be detained for quite some time."

"Yes, My Lady. as you command." replied the guard, his tone reminiscent of 'Shining Armor'

Helix smiled as she turned and left. Ignatus then faced the others. "Shall we go, now?"










Gryffin grinded his beak as more pain surged through his body. he hated to admit it..but, his tormenter's sadism nearly rivaled his own.

he'd feel envious (and, slightly attracted), if not for his current situation.

At last, Scarlett ceased striking him with the prod..and, circled the binded griffin yet again.

"you know. for a Griffin, you are surprisingly resilient." began the red haired human "It seems as though no matter what I do..I'll NEVER get you to crack."

the griffin king responded by spitting at Scarlett..which earned him even more pain. "GRRRRRRRR!!!!"

"Luckily, I find this kind of thing entertaining. I could go at this ALL the live-long-DAY." Scarlett zapped Gryffin once again, relishing his agony "BUT, my mistress is real "funny" about getting results quickly. Sooner or later, I'll HAVE to get something out of you."

Gryffin raised his head up..and, GLARED at Scarlett. "wh-when I get out of this..I'll use that rod to SKEWER YOU like a HOG!!!"

Scarlett only chortled at the griffin's threat. "Skewer..now, THERE'S a thought. been awhile since I've had a good luau."

 "YOU THINK I JEST!!?, I DO NOT!!" shouted Gryffin, enraged "You will PAY for this outrage, CREATURE!! you will ALL Pay!! Nobody disgraces the Griffin Emperor like this, and LIVES!!"

Scarlett looked at the griffin, a smirk on her face..she then struck his skull HARD with the inactive prod. Gryffin felt dazed, his vision blurred by the concussion he just suffered.

"One way or another..I ALWAYS get what I want." said Scarlett, unknowingly mocking the griffin king with his own often quoted words "No matter what it takes..OR, how long."

It was at this moment the mechanical doors slid open..and, in walked Helix. Scarlett looked as her 'boss' walk in casually, her hands behind her back. "and, how IS our "guest"??

Scarlett quickly zapped Gryffin again, before finally approaching Helix. "Stubborn, my mistress.." replied Scarlett "I've been grinding him for hours, using every known interrogation technique. but, he STILL refused to disclose any secrets that we could exploit."

Helix eyed Scarlett. "Secrets?!, you were suppose to be teaching him to respect his superiors. Namely, US."

"I was..But, then I thought that since he's a Tyrant King and, we are trying to get on the horses good side we might attempt to attain information regarding Gryphon. Juuuust in case we ever decide to Invade, and take it for our own."

Gryffin raised his head in shock, looking straight at his human captors. "That is..Actually a pretty good plan." said Helix

Scarlett smirked, pleased that her efforts were being recognized at last..but, soon scowled again. "Unfortunately, the griffin's stubbornness is making progress DIFFICULT!! I would just kill him now, and be done with it. but, the knowledge he possesses is TOO VALUABLE!!"

Scarlett growled in her throat. "If only I could just reach into his brain, and simply TAKE the information."

Helix smirked at this. "You forget, Scarlett. We have a device that can do EXACLY that."

Scarlett looked confused..but, soon got what Helix was saying. "Of COURSE!!, the Cerebral Psychic Patch. HOW could I be so stupid!?"

Helix chuckled at this. "Well, that's the first step, my dear scarlett: ADMITTING your personal flaws."

before Scarlett could respond to this, Helix pressed something at her ear. "Ms. Shimmer."

"Ma'am?!" responded a voice

"Fetch me a CPP. NOW."

"Yes, my lady." as Helix pulled her finger from her ear, Gryffin spoke. "wa-What are you going to-"

"I am going to go inside your mind, your 'mental landscape'. and, TAKE the information that I require. oh, you can struggle all you want, but I am afraid the Patch is flawless: Very soon, EVERYTHING you know will be at my fingertips."

Gryffin snarled as he thrashed around. "I WON'T FORGET THIS!!, You and your underling are all DEAD!!"

Helix snickered sinisterly "hah-hah-hah, On the contrary griffin: You WILL forget this. ALL of this, I guarantee it."

at that moment, an anthro unicorn with yellow fur and a red/yellow mane walked in. she was pushing a cart with metallic helmets and a long, pulsing cable.

Gryffin cringed at the very sight of it.

"One Cerebral Psychic Patch ready, Lady Helix." said the unicorn

"Thank your, Ms. Shimmer. now set it up for me."

Scarlett eyed Helix. "Why do you need HER!?, I could work it."

Helix scoffed. "Not only is 'science' outside your field of expertise..but, I don't trust you to mess around with my brainwaves. Only Sunset is smart enough to understand the technology, AND loyal enough to not make me brain dead on purpose."

Scarlett crossed her arms, scowling..while Sunset just smirked at her.
Helix took a helmet, and placed it upon her head. Sunset took it's mate, and placed it upon King Gryffin's head.

 "pony!!, release me, and I shall shower you with riches!!" exclaimed Gryffin under breath, desperate

Sunset just snickered. "Sure, I'll release you..when Twilight Sparkle burns her library to the ground." Gryffin grimaced, getting a feeling that this pony was telling him where to stick it.

as Helix fastened one end of the snake-like cable to a port in the back of her helmet..Sunset took the other end. "Ready, my liege??"

Helix looked at Sunset. "yes. proceed."

Sunset grinned as she slowly fastened the CCP cable into Gryffin's helmet. as soon as she did, a surge went through both participants of this science experiment. their eyes open wide, and glowing white.









Celestia, Twilight and Onyx walked with their host down the long corridors of the ship.
the equestrian princess herself was amazed, finding this alien structure somewhat similar to her own palace.

in a sense..Helix's airship WAS a "flying castle"


"What is this vessel called again??" inquired Celestia

"the Harbinger." replied Ignatius

Onyx raised an eyebrow. "hmm..that sounds rather ominous."

"Perhaps in SOME cases.." Began Twilight "but, the definition of "harbinger" is: "somebody or something that announces something, somebody, or something that foreshadows or anticipates a future event".


Onyx stared at Twilight. "It's like an OMEN: good or bad." said Twilight, bluntly

"oh."

Celestia looked to the anthro stallion. "and, what exactly is Helix a harbinger OF??"

"Peace, Order and Justice." replied Ignatius, officially

"Ah, good. for a moment, I thought her intention was "Harbinger of DOOM". said Twilight, chuckling nervously

"only to her enemies." replied the stallion

 THIS shut the three up real quick. "Oh..KAY."

as the group strolled down the long halls, Twilight spotted printing on a metallic door that immediately got her attention. "Science Wing!?"

"Yes. that is the part of the ship where scientific experiments, and research and development are conducted."

 "I HAVE TO SEE THIS!!" exclaimed Twilight, spazzing out. Onyx eyed his friend. "Twily, I-"

"GO ON WITHOUT ME, I have to check this out!!" with that, the purple unicorn was gone.

"How big IS that laboratory in there??" inquired Onyx

"It's scale is akin to a large courtyard." replied Ignatius

Celestia groaned at this. "dear..she'll be in there for DAYS."

"Yep." agreed Onyx "she's in Nerd Heaven, now."

Ignatius cleared his throat loudly. "If we may CONTINUE the tour."

Celestia bowed her head. "Our apologies..please continue."

as the anthrobic equine continued on his way, Onyx walked closely with his mother. Celestia KEPT her son close, an extended wing acting like an "arm", keeping Onyx at her side.

as Ignatius spoke, Celestia began to speak softly to Onyx. "are you Sure you are okay??"

Onyx chortled. "i'm FINE, mom..don't worry."


 "gryffin was very, VERY close to ending your life right before my eyes.." continued Celestia "had miss helix not appeared when she did, you WOULD have been dead."


Celestia eyed her son with stern eyes. "so, don't tell ME to not worry."

Onyx exhaled sharply. "sorry, mom." Celestia frowned. "no..I am sorry. I should have been more thorough with security. my failure nearly cost your life. I swear that I shall not fail you again."


Onyx reached out his hand..and, gently touched Celestia. gliding his hand down the back of her streamline neck and down her back.

as usual, her fur was soft as silk.

Celestia welcomed he son's affection, savoring the feeling of his touch. "everything will be alright, mom..I promise."


Celestia wished she could believe her son (it'd be so much simpler if she could.) but, as Princess and Grand Ruler..she knew better.

if only..IF Only.


Celestia finally looked forward..and, saw that Ignatus was no longer with them. "what the- ONYX!!, our guide is gone."

the two stopped for a moment, looking in all directions. "hey..where'd he go?!"

"We must have been so distracted with each other that we wandered off from him." said Celestia, thinking out loud

Onyx looked around the long, empty corridor. "well..I have no idea where he is. and, I don't think he does, either."

Celestia nodded. "then..I guess we have no choice but to continue our tour alone."

"Which way do we go?" inquired Onyx. Celestia pointed forward "Well, since we are already heading this way..I guess we continue on forward."

Mother and Son continued down the path that lay before them, neither one quite knowing where they were going. after some minutes had passed, Onyx finally broke the silence by speaking up. "this place is amazing."

Celestia nodded silently. "yes..truly remarkable. a flying castle of metal and iron..humans must be resourceful creatures to create such a technological marvel."

Celestia then looked down, frowning. "but..I grow concerned. If human science truly is powerful enough to rival the strongest magic, then what would happen if they decided to become a threat to us??"

Onyx stared at his mother. "Your..n-not saying that humans, like myself, are Dangerous, are you?!"

 "NO!!, I did not mean that." said Celestia, quickly "I am just saying that we should be cautious. even other ponies aren't as peaceful and good natured as I am. and, we don't really know anything about this Helix. she COULD be a potential ally..Or, an enemy trying to deceive us."

"Mom..I know that. BELIEVE me, I know." began Onyx, his mind flashing back to his time being Gryffin's prisoner. "but, she DID save me..we can at least give her a chance."

Celestia nodded. "Yes..I know. Still, we should be wary of those we do not fully know."

Eventually, the alicorn princess and the human prince came upon a metal door. as they approached said door, it suddenly opened up with a WHOOSH, startling Celestia. "zacherle. I do not think I will ever get used to that!" muttered the princess

curiousity getting the better of the two, they both walked through the doorway and entered a large chamber. it was massive, as wide and open as a canyon. and, contained within were titan sized machines.

the machines were quite loud, and all seemed to be connected to center structure of equal size. the faint glow and pulsing indicated it was some kind of power source. meaning the two were in the airship's engine room. the very HEART of the Harbinger.

"woooow.." said Onyx, in awe. "It takes all of THIS to keep this ship running!?"

Celestia herself had to admit that this was quite a sight to behold. "by star swirls beard..J-Just look at the SIZE of those monsters!!"

Before the two could say or do anything else, they heard approaching footsteps. Knowing they may have gone beyond their allowed access of the ship, then rushed for cover and hid.

the two watched as yet Another human entered the chamber. This human had much darker skin, and wore an ivory pendant with a carved symbol that resembled the Moon, and ocean waves.

the new human approached a control panel, and brought up a holographic screen. quite possibly the schematics of the engines.

he then pressed a button, activating something. "Connor, status report." said the man

 "Power Levels are at 98%, Takka. and the engines are running at 90% capacity." replied a voice

"Have a fresh power cell ready, and send a maintenance crew to look over the power grid." said Takka. "You know Lady Helix policy: The Harbinger MUST be at 100% Optimum Efficiency."

 "Yes, Sir. I will inform Foreman Ratburn to assemble his team."


At that moment, a door opened up. Celestia and Onyx looked on, and saw Scarlett walking in..and, she looked MAD.

"(unintelligible grumbling) ..stupid, fr*gging unicorn." growled Scarlett, both hands balled into fists.

"problems?" said Takka, while keeping his focus on his workplace.

Scarlett eyed the dark skinned human. "You MIGHT say that, yes."

"do tell." replied Takka, his voice deadpan.

"oh, Where do I even BEGIN!!? " exclaimed Scarlett, throwing her arms in the air.

"Well..you can start be informing me where Lady Helix is. Something tells me your grievances has something to do with that."

Scarlett scoffed. "Where do you think she is!? Our "glorious leader" is interrogating that griffin king in a holding cell."

both Celestia and Onyx gasped at this..but, kept quiet.

Griffin King?!..was Scarlett talking about Gryffin!?. and, if so..then, what was he doing on Helix ship!? and, for that matter..WHY was Helix 'interrogating' him??, and for what purpose!??


"I thought you enjoyed it when prisoners are interrogated." said Takka, factually

"Yeah!, only when I am the one doing the Interrogating!!" exclaimed Scarlett

"I think you are overreacting."

"OVERREACTING!!? , I am NOT Overreacting!! It was HELIX who barged in, thinking she could do a suuuuuch better job at getting "beakface" to crack."

"Weren't you the one who 'requested' her assistance in the task?." began Takka "you know, seeing as how you were getting nowhere with the prisoner-"

 "THAT ISN'T THE POINT!!" snapped Scarlett "the point IS that our mistress doesn't give me the respect I deserve..not does she trust me, either!!"

Scarlett then grabbed Takka, turning him around quickly and making the young man face her. "Do you even know WHAT she is doing to that "pussyfooted birdbrain!?"

"uh-"

"As we speak, she is "peeling" away his twisted little mind in order to attain his secrets. a plan that was MY IDEA to begin with!! But, did she entrust ME to oversee the Cerebral Psychic Patch process?!: NO. she bestowed THAT honor to that arrogant, snobbish, 'Gee-ain't-I-such-a-mistress-of-magic' unicorn (shouting) SUNSET "FREAKING" SHIMMER!!!"


Celestia raised a brow at this. "sunset shimmer. hmm..why does that name sound familiar?" thought Celestia

"Well, to be fair. You don't really know anything on the technical specifics of The Patch." began Takka "and, with the exception of the Patch's inventor, and myself, Ms. Shimmer IS the most qualified to-"

"THAT ISN'T THE POINT!!" protested Scarlett yet again "The point IS that Helix seems to favor that unicorn over ME!!"

"well, you haven't exactly served the best example of "loyal soldier", scarlett."

"PHH!!, Details." scoffed Scarlett "She can say whatever she wants, but I just KNOW that Shimmer is trying to usurp me!!"

Takka rubbed his eyes, groaning at this. "Again: You are Overreacting, Scarlett."

"That's easy for YOU to say, Takka. Nobody on this ship wants YOUR post!! I, on the other hand hold the most coveted position as First Lieutenant. Why, I'm practically the "Co-Ruler", second to Lady Helix herself.." Celestia was beginning to see similarities between this Scarlett, and her own sister Luna. "and, I just know that Shimmer is after my job!! I mean, you should have seen the smug look on her face when Helix put HER in command!!"


Takka wasn't paying any attention to Scarlett anymore..he was going about his business, while Scarlett just continued to Rant and Rave.

Celestia and Onyx on the other hand weren't so much concerned over Scarlett..but, the fact that King Gryffin, the Griffon Emperor, was aboard the airship. BUT, the two soon pushed out any lingering thoughts of paranoia. feeling content that their mutual enemy was safely locked away.


Celestia then gently nudged at her son with her hoof. "follow me." whispered the princess under breath

Onxy followed his mother, both trying to reach the only door out as quietly as they could. the automatic door made some noise at it open and closed for them..but, Scarlett was so busy complaining, that not she, nor Takka, even noticed.


Once safely back in the corridor, the alicorn and human breathed out a sigh of relief. "whew! that was close." said Onyx

Celestia looked at him. "We best tread carefully, lest we stumble upon something else that we shouldn't."

Onxy scowled as he crossed his arms. "I wonder where the holding cells ar at-"

"ONYX SOL, we are NOT going to go looking for Gryffin!!" snapped Celestia, now in 'protective mother' mode. "he is fine just where he is: under Lock and Key."

"Ye-Yeah, but-"

"NO Buts. Now, I think we should retrace our steps, and rejoin Twilight Sparkle at the Science Wing. I do not believe our host would approve of her guests gallivanting all over her ship unsupervised."

Onyx exhaled, groaning forcefully. he REALLY wanted some payback for all the years the Griffin Emperor tortured him as a child..or, at least WATCH him being tormented himself.

But, he knew better than to argue with his mother, the Grand Sovereign of Equestria. "oh..Okay."

With Celestia in the lead, the two made their way down the long, seemingly endless corridors. This time, they were moving at a much faster pace. not quite running, but also not merely walking, either.

they were trying to get back on track as fast as they could.

But, then they came at a crossroads..literally. before them was a small lobby with four different corridors. not really knowing which was which, they took a guess and walked down one of the paths.

after awhile Celestia and Onyx began to suspect they made the wrong choice, as they corridor that they were traversing became unfamiliar. it's metallic structure becoming Colder, and the lighting darker.

"this can't be the way we came..I don't remember this at all." said Celestia

"yeah." said Onyx in agreement. "this sort of looks like a..dungeon."

As if on cue, the sound of an unlocking metallic door was heard. keeping close to a wall, Celestia and Onyx peered from a corner..and, saw some figures emerge from one of the many identical doors.

the first figure was Helix herself. accompanied by what appeared to be an anthro unicorn who resembled Twilight Sparkle..but, bore yellow fur and a a red/yellow mane. Helix snapped her fingers, and two anthro guards, a Lizard and a Insect, dragged out a VERY familiar face.

"GRYFFIN?!" exclaimed Celestia, shocked. Onyx was also quite surprised..but, didn't mind to much at the 'sorry state' the griffin emperor was in.

the two listen in as Helix spoke up. "Have a Dropship prepped for flight. I want someone to fly as close to the borders of Gryphon as possible, and dump "his majesty" off. Sooner or later a patrol will find him, and take him back to his castle."

Sunset Shimmer eyed Helix. "Forgive me for questioning you, my lady..but, the Griffin Emperor is DANGEROUS. I think it would be wiser if we terminated him NOW, and be done with it."

Onyx may not know this Unicorn..but, he agreed with her opinion: Nobody would ever be safe, so long as Gryffin continued to live.

"Your suggestion is noted, and taken in consideration..BUT, we have nothing to fear." said Helix with confidence "After our 'session,' I had the griffin's memory wiped and altered, purging his mind of his encounter with us. as far as HE know, it was Prince Onyx who gave him a severe beating..NOT Scarlett."


Sunset nodded, her arms crossed. "Be that as it may, So long as we are staying in THIS Equestria for an extended amount of time. It is only a matter of time before the griffin emperor learns of us..Again. and, if he was hostile during his first encounter, I seriously doubt the SECOND encounter will be different."

Helix responded to this with a light chortle. "So true..but, with the secrets I managed to acquire while inside his twisted little mind, we shall be prepped and ready for whatever he plans to throw at us."

Sunset scowled, her eyes looking in another direction. "I still think It's unwise to let him live. He's more of a psychotic than Scarlett is..maybe even more than that Bliss Utonium person."

"Of that I agree. BUT I have to be fair, and give even my enemies a chance to wise up, and realize their own foolishness."

"and, what if he doesn't?! What if he goes right ahead and attacks us, Despite your warnings."

Helix grinned a sinister smile that reminded Onyx of a certain changeling queen. "Then, we shall finish what we started..and, DESTROY him."

Helix then faced her anthrobic guards that currently held the unconscious Gryffin prisoner. "Ripley, Thrax. Get that BEAST off of my ship."

"Yes, Mistress." said the lizard

"Yes, My Lady." said the Insect


the two marched off with their prisoner..right in the direction of Celestia and Onyx!

not wanting to be caught, and LOW on options, Celestia quickly charged her horn and teleported both herself and Onyx to an unknown location.


FRASH!!


Onyx gasped, rubbing his eyes. "I hate teleportation spells." grumbled the young adult.

"my apologies, son."

the two finally got a good look at their new surroundings: They were in a room of some kind. as it resembled both Celestia and Luna's bedchambers, they could only assume that this was Helix's Quarters.

This was without a doubt..the WORST possible place aboard the ship that the two could possibly be.

"oh, my..this must be Helix's chambers." said Celestia, realization dawning

Onyx began to look around. "Stallion..Helix must be some kind of royalty to have a bedroom like THIS!"

Celestia said nothing. her only concern was finding a quick exist before any of Helix guards discovered them.  BUT, while she was searching for the door..an object on a nearby mantle caught her eye: a round, silvery orb.

curious, the alicorn approached the mantle to inspect it..but, she accidently turned it on, making the orn shoot a beam of light. Celestia and Onyx watched as the light materialized into an image..a MOVING image.

It soon became clear that this orb was like a photograph..only the picture moved as if the "memory" was happening in real time.

what REALLY stunned Celestia, was that the hologram showed Helix holding a baby who looked very much like Onyx did when HE was just an infant. Celestia stared at the image intently. Helix had a look of pure joy as she cradled the small child in her arms.

Celestia's heart began to break. memories of her days mothering Onyx when he was so young flooding back in her mind.

but, more to the point..the sun princess was seeing Helix in a whole new light. Whoever the woman was, One thing was clear..Helix was a mother, just like herself. 

Celestia was broken from her trance by the harsh sound of a throat clearing. both she and Onyx looked..and, say Helix looking straight at them from the open doorway. "I do not believe my personal quarters was part of the guided tour."

Celestia quickly faced her. "M-Ms. Heli-"

"Since you are guests aboard my ship, I am going to TRY and be civil and let this slide..for now." continued Helix "and, while you can go most anywhere on the ship..MY ROOM is most definitely Off Limits."

Onyx tried to speak this time. "H-Helix, we-"

"Leave..NOW." said Helix, her voice deadpan

Knowing their place as mere guests, both Celestia and Onyx walked calmly towards the door. as they passed Helix while exiting the room..Celestia glanced back at Helix. "who was-" But, Celestia was speaking to a shut door..closed by Helix herself.

"..that child." finished Celestia, a sad look on her face.

Onyx neared his mother. "do you..think she's mad at us, mom?"

Celestia looked down..and, shook her head. "no..but, I think I stumbled upon personal." Celestia exhaled..then, put on her best smile. "Come, my son. Let us go find Twilight."



> Part Three: Restless Night

 It was nightfall upon the equine kingdom of Canterlot..and, Princess Luna stood vigil. her blue eyes gazing out at her kingdom from the balcony.

as the guardian of the moon, Luna was sovereign of Equestria during the night. So, being responsible for the entire kingdom at this time was nothing new to her.


but, THIS TIME was different. This time, her sister was not slumbering in her bedchambers where she would awaken and resume her duties once it came time to raise the sun to herald the day.

Hours ago, Luna recieved a message that her sister had encountered a "visitor from another world" details were sketchy, but it appeared that this visitor was of the same species as her adopted nephew, Onyx.

and, what's more: This visitor helped to foil an attempt on his life by their enemy, the tyrannical griffin emperor, Gryffin.


While Luna was greatful to this stranger for saving the life of one she had come to cherish and love as if he were her own son..the princess of the night was also wary. she knew NOTHING of this "Helix", nor what her true intentions were for coming to Equestria. she seriously doubted that it was for Prince Onyx's welfare alone.

So, Luna was on edge..Mainly because he sister, her nephew and the element of magic were currently guests aboard Helix "airship", and would all be staying there through the night.


Luna would be lying if she said she wasn't a TINY bit concerned for the safety of her family, AND Twilight.

Part of her believed that her sister had to be "addle-headed" to take sanctuary amongst a stranger..particularly one that seemed more like a 'warlord' that an ambassador of peace.

BUT, Luna had to remind herself that between the two of them..Celestia was the most mature, responsible and wisest. Afterall..It was Celestia who spent One-Thousand Years raising both the Sun AND Moon, while Luna herself languished away for centuries because of a colossal error that she made so long ago.

so, who was SHE to question her sister's wisdom?!


Princess Luna at last exhaled deeply..she then glanced over at a fairly large telescope. paranoia getting to her again, the dark blue alicorn walked over to the device, and began to mystically focus the lens.

after good long minutes of searching, Luna at last found her target: The Airship-or, WARship, of the human called Helix.

Luna grimaced at the vessel. finding it to be quite an ominous and foreboding presence. the metallic ship resembled a great "iron vulture" in the sky. looming as if ready to swoop down on unsuspecting prey. and, despite being late in the evening..the ship continued to move at a steady pace over the landscape. This left Luna nervous. wondering why Helix NEVER landed her ship.

Helix was human. she HAD to sleep like any other creature. So, why was her airship constantly moving?..what did SHE have to fear?!


Luna finally pulled away, sighing. "sleep well, my dear sister..I hope you know what you are doing."










In a stateroom, Celestia tossed and turned in the bed..but at last she opened her eyes. no matter how hard the alicorn tried, she just couldn't get to sleep.

too many things were going through her mind at once.


Finally, the sun princess rose up. exhaling stressfully, she got out of bed and made her way to the door. she didn't even bother to put on her shows, necklace and crown..she was too distracted to even remember that.

exiting the room, Celestia made her way down the dimly lit hallway. by now she had memorized where most of the corridors led, having been given a map to study earlier, making it unlikely for her to get lost again.

ALMOST, anyway..


Celstia made her way to Onyx stateroom, which was unsurprisingly right next to hers. she carefully opened the door, pushing it gently with her hoof.

However, she was quite surprised to find that her dear son wasn't sleeping in his bed..In fact, he wasn't in the room AT ALL.


"Onyx?!" growing concerned, Celestia left the empty room and began searching for him.

Remembering the primary reason for Onyx wishing to stay aboard the Harbinger, Celestia decided to head over to the Science Wing where one of Helix "supercomputers" were located.

Onyx was likely researching his human heritage from the machine.


As Celestia walked, she frowned as she fell deep in thought. recent events had been quite a shock to her.
first her son was nearly killed by the tyrant emperor of the griffons..then, someone of Onyx species appeared, and turned her world upside-down with her science and technology.

Onyx "interest" in her worried Celestia..fearing he placed too much trust in someone who only just met. someone who claimed to have all the answers he seeked.


However, Celestia herself now found herself intrigued by Helix. Particularly since she discovered Helix "secret" that the woman had her own child, one who bore a striking resemblance to her own son.

Celestia at first wondered if Onyx was the child she saw in the holo-photograph..but, soon decided that wasn't so. whoever the child was, he WASN'T Onyx.

but, then..who WAS that baby?! and why was Helix so secretive about him?

Did something happen to the child?..was he even still alive?! and, who did Helix go from the joyous mother that Celestia saw in that picture, to the cold and calculating woman that she knows her to be now?!

Celestia had so many questions..and, she was desparate for some answers. Sadly, only Helix could answer them..and, she wasn't talking.



At last, Celestia reached he Science Wing. the alicorn entered..and, once again became captivated by the sheer size of the chamber.

When Helix guards stated that it was twice the size of a palace courtyard..they certainly weren't joking. the massive laboratory was nearly as big as the "stained glass window hall" back at Canterlot..and, filled with an assortment of machines and technology.

the lab was filled with many anthros, each of varied animal species. All working on complicated experiments, or testing devices.

none of which that Celestia understood completely.


after several minutes, Celestia at last found a familiar face..but, it wasn't Onyx.


"Twilight!!" Celestia's faithful student didn't acknowledge her teacher..she appeared to be too engrossed in what was in front of her face.

they were holographic projectors, not unlike the "moving photograph" that Celestia encountered earlier. but, these orbs were projecting writing, not images.

Twilight almost looked 'entranced' as she stared at the projections.

"TWILIGHT!"

"GAH!!" Twilight was startled back to reality, and looked to Celestia behind her. "P-Princess!!"

Celestia gave Twilight a look of annoyance, but also understanding. "I see you have been quite busy with your new studies."

"uhh..Y-Yeah, I have." stuttered Twilight "I recently found that Helix keeps most of her records on these "data disks", instead of books. an entire library's worth of knowledge..all contained in just ONE disk. I have been spending the last several hours researching Planet Earth, Onyx's home world..Fascinating!!"

Celestia frowned. "Twilight..have you seen Onyx anywhere?!"

Twilight shook her head 'no' "No, my princess..I haven't. But, I heard he was meeting with Helix herself in a place called "The Simulation Chamber". Something to do with new combat training."

"Oh..I see."

Before Celestia could do or say anything else, an alarm sounded, followed by a sequential flashing of light. "what in-"

"IT'S AN EXPERIMENT!!" exclaimed Twilight, leaping from her chair "Mister Takka is conducting Another experiment!!"


While she would much rather look for her son..even Celestia was curious at what Helix scientists were up to. AND, a bit concerned over the safety of her apprentice, too.

Celestia finally followed the hyperactive Twilight in another part of the laboratory. There, she indeed saw the dark skinned human from earlier. who was ordering various anthros as they fiddled with a massive machine that sparked colored lightning.

"Increase power at 15% capacity." a humanoid wolf, fox and raccoon did just that.

"No good, sir. we are only getting 5% from the power cells." said a fox

Takka glance over at an anthro tigeress. "Frieda!!, fetch me another power cell!"

"I can't, Sir." began Frieda "That was the LAST cell, and there isn't enough time to send for more from storage."


Takka looked at another anthro. a Rabbit, this time. "Ace, what is the status of our power levels!?"

"Up to 35%, sir."

Takka growled in his throat at this. "spirits..That isn't enough!!"

"Can I help?!" Takka looked, and saw a purple unicorn walk up. "wait..your that equine native: Twilight Sparkle."

Twilight nodded. "Yes, and I want to know if I can help."

Celestia looked unsure of this "Twilight, I am not so sure that is-"

"perhaps you COULD." began Takka "being a Unicorn, you produce reality altering energy utilizing your horn as a conduit."

Twilight stared blankly. "uhhh..y-yeah!, right."

Takka thought for a moment. "hmmm...perhaps you CAN be of assistance, afterall." Takka then snapped his finger. "Frieda, fetch me an U.E.C., NOW."

"Yes, sir. Right away, sir." said the Tigress, as she ran off at a fast pace. both Twilight and Celestia eyed Takka. "U.E.C.?!"

"It's stand for Universal Energy Converter. It is a device that absorbs any energy type, and changes it into another type. OR, to put it simply: It'll convert Twilight Sparkle's mystical energy into compatible energy for the machine."

"oh."

at that moment, Frieda returned with the device in question. "Excellent work, Frieda. Now, just hook it up, and we'll get started."

As Frieda did just that, Twilight approached the machine. anticipating she would be needed soon.

"The U.E.C. is ready, sir."

"Excellent." said Takka, who looked to Twilight. "Twilight, your up. fire your strongest blast of magic into the U.E.C."

Twilight narrowed her eyes as her horn glowed bright violet. she then fired a strong blast of magical energy at the device..which true to Takka's description. began to take in the magic like a sponge.

"Give It ALL you've got, Ms. Sparkle." said Takka. his tone calm, despite the situation.

"GRRRRRRRAAAAAAARGH!!!" Twilight grinded her teeth as she attempted to push herself further than she ever had before. "this is..as F-FAR..As I can..GO!!"

Takka looked to an anthro frog female. "Tina, Status Report.

"Power levels are at now at 65%, sir."

Celestia walked up to the human. "th-that's Good, right?"

"No, not really." replied Takka "We need power level at least 90% to make any progress. your apprentice has aided us greatly..but, even HER magic isn't enough."

Celestia looked at her student..who continued to pour in all of the magic she had. touching her chin with her hoof, Celestia at last made a decision. "What if I added my magic to Twilight's?!"

Takka took a moment to process this. "Theoretically, that may work..but, Alicorns produce one-hundred times the amount of energy than unicorns do. You would only need to give a 'tiny' bit if you are adding to Twight's magic. If you were to use all you add, you may risk overloading the machine..and, destroying it."

Celestia was wide eyed, amazed at how delicate this mechanical beast was. But, she understood Takka's instructions and took her place near Twilight. the alicorn princess then fired golden energy from her horn..which seamlessly melded with Twilight's, forming white energy.

"Power level rising, sir." began a female squirrel "70%. 80..85..90."

"Easy does it, princess..just a little bit more." Celestia breathed steadily as she carefully raised the strength of her magic.

"95..96..98..99..100%!!"

"STOP!, hold it there!!" commanded Takka

Both Celestia and Twilight held the flow of their magic at the current levels. a bright light gleamed from within the machine, and made a high pitched whining sound..

..then, at last: it went out like a snuffed candle. the two ponies stopped using their magic, assuming the experiment was over.

Twilight panted heavily, the whole thing taking alot out of her. "d-d-did we?..i-is it?!"

a random anthro answered Twilight's question to Takka. "The crystal has stabilized, sir. the experiment was a success."

this made Celestia raise a brow. "Crystal!?"

a compartment in the machine opened up like an oven, and out came a tray holding an odd looking crystal. the crystal was a pale green color, and was shaped like a cylinder with four curved spikes protruding from the top end like a claw.

Celestia approached it, bewildered. "what..is that?!" inquired the sun princess

Takka didn't answer. he only issued a command to a nearby soldier. "Make sure Lady Helix knows that the Ix Crystal has been completed successfully. and, shall be ready for the Discord Sanction should the situation call for it."

"yes, sir." replied the anthro crocodile

Celstia widened her eye sat this. "Discord Sanction!!?"

"Yes." said Takka, acknowledging Celestia finally. "As you know, Lady Helix is against Chaos, Anarchy and Disorder..and, this Discord is the literal embodiment of that. Helix has issued many 'plans' to deal with the chimera..one of which being the creation of the Ix Crystal."

"and..j-just what IS..a-an Ix Crystal?!" asked Twilight, still fatiqued

"a crystal that can mystically entrap any entity no matter the strength of it's power."

this sent chills up Celestia's spine. "I'm..not sure I like the sound of that."

"Do not fret. we are sealing the crystal in our vault, and will ONLY be used for when Discord becomes a serious threat to us. Nothing more."

Celestia eyed Takka, still feeling unsure of all this. But, for whatever reason she decided to trust his word and let it go.

"Mister Takka..could you direct me to the 'simulation room'? I would very much like to check up on my son, please."

"certainly." replied Takka, polite as ever

Celestia looked to Twilight..who motioned her mentor to go. "y-you go on ahead..I-I'll stay here, an..c-catch my breath."

Celestia nodded. "of course." with that, Celestia left with Takka.









Celestia walked with Takka to a metallic door guarded by two anthros, a Rhino and a Boar.


"HALT!!"

"WHO GOES THERE!?"

as soon as the guards saw Takka..they fidgeted. "M-Mister Takka, Sir!!"

Takka approached the two, a plain look on his face. "let us pass. the princess of canterlot wished to speak with her son."

"P-Prince Onyx is currently undergoing a test given by Lady Helix and Commander Scarlett, sir." said the boar

Celestia approached the guards, looking at them. "May I PLEASE enter?!"

the guards looked nervous. "ummm.."

"Go ahead and let us enter." said Takka "If Lady Helix is angered by our presence, the blame can be pinned on ME..not either one of you."

the guards each let out sighs of relief. "th-thank you, s-sir."

with that, the doors opened up and Celestia and Takka walked inside..

..Inside, Celestia found a large, empty, wide open room. It was clear that this was a training ground of some sort.

she then looked at the center..where Helix stood watching as Scarlett and Onyx were engaging in combat. At first, Celestia was worried, but quickly reminded herself that as this was a training room..her son was in no real danger.


Onyx threw swift hard punches at Scarlett, who effortlessly evaded them. the fiery haired woman then grabbed his forearm mid-swing, and flung him across the room.

"Your attacks are too predictable, Onyx.." began Helix, her tone deadpanned "Predictable..and, SLOW."

Onyx responded with a sweep kick, followed by flipping back onto his feet. "hmm..Better." said Helix, an eyebrow raised.

Onyx performed a series of kicks at Scarlett..who bore an uninterested look on her face. "Is THAT the best you've got!? I've seen turtles with more faster, swifter maneuvers than yours."

Onyx got angry. he yelled out as he charged..which was a mistake, as struck him in the gut, elbow bashed his jaw, then finally grabbed his head and SLAMMED his skull onto her knee.

dazed, Onyx stepped back..to which Scarlett performed a leap kick, finishing the fight. as Onyx groaned on the floor..Helix stood over him. "YOU LOSE, Prince Onyx." Onxy growled at this. Helix then helped him up. "i'm..I'm sss-sorry."

"oh, I am not disappointed at your failure." began Helix, maintaining her snide smile "I didn't expect to conquer my first lieutenant overnight. What I AM disappointed at is that this is the tenth time Scarlett has planted your face upon the ground..and, It appears you haven't learned anything since the first time she beat you."

Onxy grumbled. "sorry..but, she just too fast, an-"

"ANYONE can throw a punch or kick.." continued Helix. "but, to call yourself a true fighter is to master more than one style of combat. your style is Simple, Primitive, SLOPPY..as expected, given it is the Griffons combat style. But, I am certain that I can make you just as good a fighter as Myself."

Onyx eyed Helix. "How can I possibly know that?!, You've never fought me!!, you just had Scarlett do all the fighting."

Helix chortled, smirking. "That is because I am the boss, and SHE is an underling. and, If you can't defeat Scarlett in single combat..then, HOW can you possibly hope to beat Me?!"

Onyx took a moment to ponder this. "Given that I am superior to Scarlett in every way..You wouldn't stand a chance."

"well..I suppose you are-"

"GOOD, We are both in agreement. Now, let's take five for a-" just then, the sound of a clearing throat was heard. the three looked, and saw Princess Celestia approach.

"MOM!!" exclaimed Onyx

Celestia smiled warmly. "Hello, son..I see you have begun training."

"If by "Training", you mean Making-a-good-impression-of-a-punching-bag..then, YES. he has only just started." said Scarlett, sarcasm dripping from her voice.

Onyx ignored her, and spoke very calmly to his mother. "Helix is teaching me how humans fight. she says that If I pass, she'll give me powers like hers..then, I'll be a REAL prince of Equestria."

"Tsk..Sweetheart, you don't need any of that to be a 'real prince'. You are perfectly fine just the way you are."

Onyx eyed his mother..then, he looked away and exhaled. "sorry, mom..but "being who I am" has nearly gotten me killed more times than I care to remember. and, let's face it: Nopony is going to follow a prince who actually NEEDS guards to keep him alive."

"Sad, but TRUE." began Helix "Power seems to be the only thing the equines respect. No Power, NO RESPECT."

Celestia hated to admit it..but, what both humans were saying may be true. In the long run, It wasn't her royal title that garnered respect from her subjects, and fear from her enemies..but, rather her deity-like power derived from her being an Alicorn.

The more she thought about It..the MORE she agreed that her son having powers of his own wouldn't be such a bad idea.

"well..Okay. If that is what you really want." began Celestia "Just..b-be careful. I too remember all the times you've nearly been killed..and, I don't think even my heart could bear to see you endure any more suffering."

Onyx gave his mother a smile..Helix then smirked, flexing her fingers like talons.

"Lady Helix.." Helix looked, and saw Takka approach. "I have a status report on the Discord Sanction."

Celestia glanced at the two as they spoke. "AND?.." said Helix, wanting an answer

"Forging of the Ix Crystal was a success, despite a few complications. I had it sent to the vault, per your orders."

"EXCELLEEEENT..We are but one step closer to stamping out Chaos and Anarchy then. Starting with the perfect weapon to deal with the physical embodiment of Chaos itself."

Onyx didn't really know of Discord that well..only that he was a powerful entity that his mother and aunt defeated many centuries ago. and, after the mess he started following his release..he didn't mind one bit that Helix had a means to stop him for good.

Celestia, however..STILL had reservations on the whole thing.

"Will there be anything else, my lady?" said Takka

"No, Takka. you may go now, you've earned some time off." began Helix..who then smirked at him. "I am sure your wife would LOVE to speak with you."

Takka nodded, a smile on his face. "yes..and, I would love to speak with her."

"Then, go. If I require your assistance any further, I will call."

Takka bowed, then turned and left. Celestia looked at Helix. "Ms. Helix..I would have word with you."

Helix raised an eyebrow at the alicorn..then, put on a smile and lightly chortled. "of course." Helix looked to Scarlett, and snapped her fingers. "give us a pleasant atmosphere." whispered Helix

Scarlett grumbled as she took out a remote-like device. pressing a button, the whole room flashed white..once the light faded, the once empty, metallic room was now a tropical beach.

Despite not understanding the technology, Celestia figured It was an illusion..a very Realistic illusion. it even smelled real.

"take a seat." said Helix "Scarlett, continue with Onyx's lesson. Do not stop on our account."

Scarlett did a mock salute, then led the human prince over to "the beach" Helix and Celestia promptly sat on some bamboo chairs, facing one another.

"Now..what's this all about?!" said Helix, folding her hands together and tapping her fingers

Celestia paused for a moment..then, spoke. "It's..r-regarding that one incident in your room."

"I already told you: As my guests, I am letting it slide..JUST. This. once."

"That isn't what I meant." said Celestia. Helix then eyed her. "oh?..then, DO you mean?!"

Celestia paused again, wondering if she was crossing a line that she shouldn't. "It regards the..'moving picture' that I saw in your room. The one of you, and..that child."

Helix groaned at this, indicating that this was a subject she DID NOT want to discuss. "I already told you: THAT is personal."

"But, who WAS that child!?" exclaimed Celestia, craving an answer. "Was he your son!?, Who was he?!, Is he on this ship!?, What happened to him!!?"

"My-My-MY..quite a nosey little pony, aren't you?" said Helix with a smirk "Well, apologies, your highness..but, that topic is personal for me."

Helix then stroked her chin. "HOWEVER..I might be willing to trust you with such information. Provided you entrust me with one of your own."

Celestia wasn't sure she liked this. "what..Kind of secret?"

"oh, not much..just something that has been nagging at me since I arrived her: How is it that Onyx came to be your son? I know humans aren't native here..I would just like to know how he came to be in this world."

Celestia fell silent for a good long minute. "Well?.." said Helix, expecting an answer

"i..I can't really give you an answer." said Celestia, finally

Helix smirked at the alicorn. "then, I'm afraid I can't really give YOU an answer, either."

"I don't REALLY know!!" exclaimed Celestia. "I just found him night, Okay! I don't know WHERE he came from, or HOW he came to be in my world. All I know was that he was a tiny little baby who NEEDED a mother."

"Where did you find him?" asked Helix, professionally

"I-In the Royal Gardens." began Celestia, stuttering a bit "I found him nesled in the rose bushes."

"and, What do you recall yourself doing BEFORE that?" Celestia thought long and hard about this.

"I was..in despair over banishing my sister to the moon so many years ago. i..I r-remember seeing a shooting star in the night sky. I..m-made a wish, and shortly after..There he was."

"a WISH?!" said Helix, dumbfounded

"yes.." said Celestia, nodding her head. "to not be alone in this world..my little Onyx has given me so much joy."

Helix took a moment to ponder on this information. as she did, Celestia spoke again. "There. I told you what you want to know..Now, you answer MY question: Who WAS that child I saw in your arms!?"

Helix eyed the majestic equine. Though didn't want to divulge ANY information on this touchy subject..a deal WAS a deal.

"his name..is Shade. and, he IS my son." began Helix, her voice calm and quiet. "He has no father..apart from science, I never had much luck when it came to dating. So, when the time came that I wanted a child, I decided to take the easier, if somewhat unorthodox means of doing so, by impregnating myself with a serum synthesized from my own DNA.

My son was born..and, I raised him for twelve long years. on his thirteeth birthday..we had a "disagreement", one that compelled him to leave and find his own place in the world. we still talk sometimes..but, for the most part we are divided by our personal lives. he is sixteen now, and recently experienced a personal tragedy. he disappeared one day, and hasn't been seen since."

Celestia paused at this. "oh..I see." Celestia looked at Helix. "I am so sorry..wa-what was this tragedy?"

"His girlfriend died. killed defending her brother..Shade took it hard." chills went down Celestia's spine upon hearing this.

"I..am so very sorry." Helix was silent, her expression unreadable.

"I think it best if we all retire for the night. they'll be plenty to discuss in the morning."

Celestia looked at Helix..then, nodded sadly. "of course."


"END PROGRAM." said Helix loudly. the 'tropical' environment almost immediately faded away, returning to the empty metallic room.

"WHAT THE HE-!?" exclaimed Scarlett, as she held Onyx in a choke hold

"It is LATE." began Helix, approaching the two with Celestia. "I believe it may be time for us to retire until morning."

Scarlett released Onyx, who rubbed his neck. "I can keep fighting ALL. NIGHT. LONG!!" exclaimed Scarlett

"Oh, that much I believe..but, I am beginning to think that the reason for Prince Onyx's constant defeats is that he is tired, and needs his rest. Perhaps he can fair better against you when he is Refreshed."

Scarlett crossed her arms, grumbling loudly. "FINE."

As Scarlett left, Onyx stood onto his feet. "i..I think I almost had her that time."

"sure you did." said Helix, as she departed.

once gone, Celestia approached her son. "I do hope you know what you are doing, son."

"aw, mom..you worry too much." said Onyx, as he brushed himself off. he then looked at his mother. "So..you still think Helix can't be trusted?"

Celestia stared off, a far out look in her eyes. "I used to..but, Now I'm not so sure."









Twilight was sitting before a massive computer screen, magically typing buttons on a keyboard.

though still recovering from the Ix Crystal Experiment, she was well enough to do some research regarding humans, and the world her dearest friend originated from.

Least, that was what she WAS doing..

Now, she was undergoing some 'personal' research. remembering what Helix said of "Beasts" and "Anthros", she was going over files related to the subject.


"okay..here goes." began Twilight, silently to herself. "HUMAN..ANTHRO..INTERSPECIES..OFFSPRING."

Twilight tapped a button..and, her eyes grew wide at the news articles. she clicked on, and read it out loud.


"Station Square became the most talked about city in the United Federation when interspecies couple Alan Zander (a human) and Queen Aleena Hedgehog announced the birth of their new daughter.

named Tiara, this bundle of joy is the very first Human/Anthro hybrid to be born. only three weeks old, this child is already a celebrity to both the Overlander and Mobian community.

Some call her a miracle of nature..others an abomination. whatever the case, this tyke will be the start of something quite new.

"She will CHANGE the World.", quoted Princess Sonia, Tiara's older sister."


Twilight pondered for a brief moment..then read another news article.



"The city of Petropolis welcomes it's newest citizen. Marie Maxwell, the daughter of Andy Katswell and Alexis Bunny.

Normally the birth of 'one baby' wouldn't be front page headlines..but, this isn't the case. as contrary to his name, the father of Marie isn't a Cat at all. In fact, he is the ONLY human citizen of Petropolis.

Many thought it impossible for a Human and an Anthro to reproduce..but, the Petropolis Hospital has confirmed that the child is a geninue Human/Anthro hybrid, perfectly heathly and ready to start It's new life here.


Will this bundle of joy give way to something New?!, Only time will tell."


Twilight finally stopped reading. she paused for a moment, and thought real hard.

What Helix said was indeed true. there was documented evidence of Humans and Non-Humans being in love, and having children..but, said Non-Humans were all "Anthropomorphics" not "Beasts", as Helix had so dubbed her.

a swell of sadness swept over Twilight. she couldn't deny that she loved Onyx. he was her first REAL friend, and over the years their friendship had grown into so much more. they had endured the greatest of adversites..both from others, and even themselves.

Twilight wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with her best friend..her LOVE. But, what future could she possibly give to Onyx if she was incapable of bearing his children.

and, all because she wasn't of his species..or, Similar to it. She now saw the cruel irony of it all. her mind was human, but her body was that of an animal. what a Sick Joke!!


She found herself longing for something to change..either she be like Onyx, so they could be happy together. OR, be a "true" animal: mindless and stupid, so she wouldn't have to be in pain anymore.

the last opinion seemed almost akin to suicide, but at this point she really didn't care.

Just then, a voice spoke. "Late night browsing?"

Twilight gasped. she turned, and saw Helix herself standing before her.

"H-Helix!!..um, well-" Helix noted what was on the screen. "I see the subject of cross-species reproduction has peaked your intrigue."

Twilight said nothing as she turned her back to Helix, her head hanging low. letting out a deep sigh, she spoke.

"is it..Really impossible for us to-"

"I am afraid it is. In fact, the idea of Humans and Beasts being romantically involved with one another is frowned upon by many. It is considered Vulgar and Disgusting."

a tear formed in twilight's eye. "but..i-I am NOT an animal. I'm NOT A BEAST!!"

"Mentally, no. but, your physical body begs to differ."

Twilight turned to face Helix again, tears streaming down her eyes. "can you change me?!..CAN YOU MAKE LIKE ONYX!!?"

Helix smirked sinisterly. "I can..with the Evolution Ray."

Twilight smiled, though she still cried. "show it to me..PLEASE."

Helix grinned wide. enjoying every minute of this.



> Part Four: Dinner at Canterlot

 The sun rose over the pristine kingdom of Canterlot..and, Princess Luna let out a sharp breath upon finishing with her sister's duty.


"by zacherle, How does my sister do this with such ease?!" said Luna, as she trotted back from the balcony. no sooner did she return to her chambers, there was a rapping sound on her door.


KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!!!


Luna looked to the door. "Enter."


the door opened..and, in came one of Celestia's guards. "Forgive my intrusion, my princess."


"oh, think nothing of it..You have anything to report?"


"yes..the airship that Princess Celestia is aboard is approaching Canterlot." the guard swallowed hard, then spoke again. "we assume it's purpose is to return the princess..but, the stallions are more that ready for an impending attack."


Luna nodded. "tell your stallions to be on guard..but, to not fire unless fired upon first. We have to assume to this 'Helix' will be a potential ally, rather than an enemy like Gryffin."


"Yes, your highness." said the guard as he turned and left.


Luna exhaled sharply, her mind deep in thought. she still had a foreboding feeling of this human female..and, her convenient rescue of her sister, her apprentice and son.

but, knowledgeable of her own dark past, she decided to at the very least give Helix the benefit of a doubt.









the princess of the night strolled out of the castle where numerous guards were gathers in the royal courtyard.

everypony looked anxious. as if expecting 'something' to happen. Luna would be lying if she said she wasn't feeling that way herself.
all eyes looked to the sky as a dark shadow blanketed them all.


Luna held her breath, gazing upon the airship that loomed above them all. she had never before seen such a massive vessel. it was even bigger up close, looking more like a leviathan than an actual ship.

a hatch suddenly opened from underneath the ship..and, a smaller (but, still large) aircraft lowered down from it. as the craft landed, a hatch opened from it with a hiss and a ramp lowered with a whirl of gears.


Luna felt a swell of relief as she saw her sister, Twilight, and her nephew Onyx exiting down the metallic ramp.


"SISTER!!" Luna galloped over to the three. "So good to see you back safe."


Celestia smiled warmly. "I do hope I didn't worry you too much, Luna."


Luna darted her eyes at the guards "well..we all know very little of your "host", so we were understandably concerned for your safety."


"An issue I intend to remedy." said Celestia sternly.


Luna raised a brow, confused. "What ever do you mean sis-"


"SO..This is Canterlot." said a voice. everypony looked, and saw a dark haired human woman walking down the ramp with a another woman of her species with messy red hair. "My..such Class. such pristine glory."


 "BLECH!!" scoffed the second woman "It's a tad too 'bright' for my tastes. it's so sweet, it makes my teeth hurt."


the Canterlot guards gathered around the two female humans. understandably expecting hostile intent.


"Guards, Stand Down..Helix and Scarlett are our 'guests', not out enemies." commanded Celestia


The guards obeyed their princess, while Luna approached her sister and fellow ruler. "Guests?"

Celestia nodded. "I was a guest aboard Helix ship, where I was given full access and learned a great deal of her and where she comes from. and, it's only fair to give Helix an equal oppertunity to be a guest in my home as well."


"Yes.." began Helix, a smile on her face. "My first stop will be the Canterlot Library..I would like to brush up on my equestrian history."


Scarlett scoffed at this. "nerd."


Onyx looked at Helix. "you..think sometime later we could resume my training?!"

Helix eyed the human prince of equestria. "Yes..LATER. I have other things to attend to..and, so do you."


Celestia looked at Helix. "Would you like to be taken to the room that you will be staying?"


"Yes, that would be nice, thank you."


"Good. Guard, take her to the V.I.P. suite-"


"Um, P-Princes?!.." began Twilight, stuttering


Celestia looked to her apprentice. "Yes, Twilight?"


Twilight darted her eyes, looking nervous..then, she finally spoke. "I..k-know this is an odd request. but..c-can I escort Ms. Helix to her room?"


Celestia placed her hoof on her chin, pondering this. "hmm..Well, I don't see why not. Go right ahead."


Helix raised an eyebrow, a smirk on her face. she then followed Twilight towards the castle doors. Scarlett remained behind, crossing her arms with a scowl on her face.


"Aren't you going with Helix?" asked Onyx

Scarlett eyes the prince. "When I get AROUND to it. I would much rather get my bearings on this city..just in case."


as Scarlett walked off, Onyx called out. "In case of What?!"

Scarlett stopped, and glance back at him. with a sly smile, she replied: "In case we are attacked like that griffon did when he ambushed you. All of that could have been avoided if "SOMEone" had been more alert and aware."


Before anyone could say anything else, Scarlett leapt away like a gymnast and soon disappeared from view.


Princess Luna walked up to her sister and adopted nephew. "Something about that one makes my skin crawl..BUT, there is wisdom in her words, too."


Onyx frowned as he gripped his arms. "yeah..I know."








Helix strolled down the long halls with Twilight, her hands behind her back and a smile on her face.
the ruby eyed woman took the time to admire the décor of the castle. it was very "medieval disneyland" in her opinion.


"what a charming dwelling." said Helix, finally "It almost reminds me of my citadel back home. only a bit more.."brighter"

Twilight glanced at Helix..then back at the path in front of her. "I..h-hope you enjoy you're stay in Canterlot, Ms. Helix."


"oh, don't be so formal: Call me Helen, or Ms. Lynx." said Helix with a smile


"um..o-okay."


the two soon began to travel up a staircase before finally reaching the door at the top. Helix entered the stateroom, and found it to be a fairly large one.

the furniture was a mix of sculpted marble and carved wood. and, the curtains, both on the windows AND the bed, had a mesmerizing pattern.


In short, this room was obviously the next best thing to the princesses own bedchambers.


"My..now this is what I call "class." said helix, as she walked over to one of the windows "oh, my..I can see the whole town surrounding the castle from here."


"Yes.." began Twilight, approaching Helix "a-and, you are of course free to go anywhere you wish in Canterlot..of course, you m-may need Princess Celestia's permission to access some areas."


"Oh, but of course." said Helix, facing the unicorn "I would expect no less."


Twilight looked down, a frown on her face. "Something on your mind?" said Helix, a smirk on her face

Twilight Sparkle looked back at Helix..she tried to speak, but Helix cut her off. "The answer is STILL "No."


"B-But, HELIX!, I-!"


"Ms. Sparkle. I know you want nothing more than for me to use my Evolution Ray to make yourself an Anthro..and, thus at last have SOME future with Prince Onyx.

but, nothing good in any world ever comes free. I mean, you get everything you desire..but, what do I get?"


Twilight knelt down before Helix, behaving as if the human before her were Princess Celestia herself. "name your price..I WILL PAY IT!!"


Helix snickered at Twilight. "You think this is about MONEY!? don't insult me, child."

Twilight looked up at her. a pleading look in her eyes "what would I have to give to make you give me what I need!?"


Helix tapped her chin, pretending to be thinking. "oh..I don't know. I am sure I'll think of something, eventually."

Twilight immediately stood up onto her hooves. "BUT-!!"


"LOOK." began Helix, sternly "Assuming I would change you, You wouldn't be the first "equestrian" that I hyper-evolved. In my travels throughout the cosmos, I've bestowed the very gift you are longing for to two other unicorn mares.."

Helix smirked at Twilight, savoring her desperation towards her. "THEY had something to offer me. something far more valuable than mere wealth. I am not a genie, my dear..You want a wish?, then you will have to impress me first."


Twilight hung her head, her eyes shut tight and teeth gritting. "what must I do?"

Helix smiled a sly smile. "I already told you: "I. Don't. Know. Yet."


Helix then turned back to the window. "Shouldn't you be back in Ponyville? you know, studying 'friendship' and that jazz."

Twilight sighed sharply, defeated. "I suppose I am." said Twilight, as she rose up. "If you're..ever in Ponyville. l-look me up, I live in the library."


"Yes..I know." said Helix, still gazing out the window

Twilight let out another sigh, then turned and left. Helix just smirked to herself.


"How long have you been watching?" said Helix, at last


out of the shadows emerged an anthro unicorn mare. one with golden yellow fur and red/yellow mane. "Long enough..so, are you REALLY going to give Twilight Sparkle the same gift you granted me?!"


"Only if it's mutually beneficial to me."


Sunset Shimmer stepped forward, her hooved legs making a 'clopping' sound as she approached. "Having Trixie as a fellow "Anthropoid" is one thing..but, I refuse to accept Twilight Sparkle as a "sister-in-arms!!"


Helix smirked as she turned and faced her chief magic specialist. "Still holding a grudge?"


"Twilight RUINED my life!!" snapped the unicorn "She stole my mentor from me, took the Fame, Admiration and Glory that was rightfully mine..and, the affections of a Wonderful Stallion."


"Correction: YOU'RE Twilight ruined your life..the one from YOU'RE Equestria. but, this is a new world..one with a "different" Twilight Sparkle in it. and, as soon as I have confirmation that there isn't another Sunset Shimmer in this Equestria..you will PUT ASIDE the animosity you feel towards Twilight, and treat her as if you would anyone else.

If you start acting hostile, she will question my motives..as will Celestia, which will severely jepordize my plans!!"


Sunset growled lowly in her throat, her mouth cracked open to show her grinding teeth.


"Regardless of your emotions..I COMMAND you to bury them, at least for a moment, and not give any of these equines reason to doubt us." Helix approached Sunset Shimmer, bring her faces inches away from hers and staring right into her turquoise eyes. "Am I prefectly clear..MS. SHIMMER?!"


Sunset clenched her hand tightly..then, at last released her grip. "transparently..MY LADY." replied Sunset, venom in her voice


"Good. Then, return to the Harbinger using whatever spell you used to come here and wait for my word." said Helix, her tone suddenly sweet


Sunset did a respectful bow. "As you command..my mistress." charging her unihorn with invisible energy, Sunset suddenly disappeared into the darkness like a shadow.








All was not peaceful in the Griffon Empire.

..though, that was hardly a surprise, given the "erratic" nature of it's tyrant ruler.


but, this was different. for once, Emperor Gryffin wasn't demanding more servant girls to sodimize or kill for his amusement.

no..the griffon populous was, at least for the moment, safe as their ruler was too busy being furious to terrorize them.



CRASH!!


a griffon guard was startled at the sound of an object smashing to pieces..followed by loud, angry yelling.


"oh, good..he's peeved." said a guard, who then looked to the other guard station at the double doors. "You!, go in there and see if you can calm down our emperor."


the second guard just rolled his eyes. "and, what makes you think I want to do that?!"


"I don't give a dragon's ass what you want!!" snapped the guard "just go in there and do something!!, the emperor's been like this since we found him yesterday."


the second guard groaned loudly. he then entered the doors..where he narrowed missed being hit by yet another object.


"d*mmit..D*MN IT!!!" yelled the Griffon Emperor


the guard smirked..then, put on his best straight face as he spoke. "something bothering you..MY LIEGE?!"

Gryffin eyed the guard..but, snarled loudly as he turned his back to him. "I HATE that b*stard child of Celestia's..I hate him with every fiber of my being."


the guard had an unamused looked on his face. "do tell."


Gryffin took a pony skull into his taloned hand..and, crushed it in his palm like brittle. "that boy..would have been my greatest weapon." began Gryffin, his tone low "I trained him myself..taught him everything I know of battle and war. and, HOW does that miserable whelp reward me?!: By ESCAPING from my clutches, and mocking me with every moment he continues to breathe!!"

Gryffin turned around quickly, flipping his royal cape around as he did. as he paced around, the guard watched his movements like a hawk.

"I was so close to gaining my revenge. SO.. CLOOOOSE!!" Gryffin struck at a nearby table, smashing it into a wall. "My plan was Fool Proof!!, It should have worked!! but he.., HE-!!"


the Griffon Emperor screeched loudly, making the windows crack. "There is no way he could have repelled me..NO F*CKING WAY!!"


the guard cracked a smile..but, quickly hid it. "calm yourself, my liege..you'll get him. it's only a matter of time."


Gryffin glared at the guard angrily..but, then he suddenly smiled wickedly. "Yes..you are right, of course. I may not have succeeded today, but I WILL.

Someday soon..I shall have that Prince Onyx's head mounted on my wall. and, use his bones to pick his flesh out of my beak..oh-ho-ho-ho, just watch me.."


the guard looked a bit disturbed at Emperor's Gryffin's sudden 'good mood' "yes..well, I shall just leave to your fantasies, then."

as the guard walked off, Gryffin called. "What is your name, soldier?!"

the guard paused momentarily. without making eye contact, he replied. "Pantheon."


"Well..Pantheon. Thank you for lifting my spirits..I see now why you are my elite guard."


Pantheon turned..and, did a bow to the griffon emperor. "oh, you can ALWAYS depend on me to be here for you, my emperor.."

While Pantheon was smiling..deep down inside, however..he was SEETHING with rage. (("yes, my EMPEROR..you can cound on me to be here. I don't really have anything else to do anymore. not after you tore out my wife's throat, and burned my daughter alive."))


Pantheon smiled. "With your permission..I'd love to return to my post, now."


"Granted."


Pantheon turned, and left. shutting the doors behind him.


"How'd it go?" inquired the lone guard at the doors.


Pantheon eyed him. "We shall get some sleep tonight..provided our emperor doesn't throw another "festival" that makes the town square run red, again."


the guard eyed him. "What's YOU'RE problem?!"


"NOTHING." said Pantheon, lying through his beak. "I am just tired, that's all."

the guard nodded. "fine. then go find another guard to relieve you."


Pantheon didn't need any more convincing. he immediately marched off, leaving his fellow guard behind.


BUT, once he was sure he was alone..he stopped for a moment. feeling raging ebbing with him, the griffon angrily slashed into a wall, scarring the stone deeply.


"d*mn him.." growled Pantheon "d*mn that wretched, vile son of a b*tch!! I hope this 'prince onyx' guts him like a fish!!"


Unknown to Pantheon..somebody was indeed watching him. but, not another gryffon..instead, he was being spied on by a sparkling orb of light.

the light wisped away like a shooting star, disappearing into the very winds themselves.









It was nightfall upon the kingdom of Canterlot. and, the royal family was preparing to have dinner. although, tonight was going to be special..for the equine princesses were to dine with their human guests.


Currently, only Celestia and Luna were present at the still empty table. awaiting the arrival of the food and other attendants.

Princess Luna kept casting brief glances at Celestia..who noted every single one of them.


"Luna..is something wrong?" Luna didn't respond. she only murmured something in a whispered tone.


"I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." repeated Celestia, wanting a proper answer


Luna exhaled sharply. "n-nothing, it's just..Nothing."


the Sun Guardian cast a glare at her young sister. "Luna..you know I don't like it when you keep secrets. now, tell me what is troubling you, my sister."


Luna breathed out..speaking as clearly as she could. "It's of our 'asteamed guests', the.."Hue-Mans."


Celestia groaned, rubbing her temples with her hooves. "not THIS again."


"We know so very little about them." began Luna "the one called Helix reminds me of that changeling queen who attacked us not too long ago. and her underling, the "Scarlett"..has a look of pure bloodlust in her eyes."


Luna looked at her sister. "I am unsure of their intentions."


Celestia nodded. "I understand..I too felt the same way about them at first."


"What changed you're mind?!" inquired Luna


"When I discovered that there is 'another side' to Helix..one she keeps hidden from everypony. one that is VERY familiar to me. and, Scarlett, well..her behavior is due to past hardships that she had to endure. so, I pity her."


Celestia looked at Luna. "Make no mistake, I did not fully trust them..BUT, they did save my life, and the lives of those closest to me. for that reason, if nothing else, they should be allowed a chance to prove themselves."


Luna looked down, exhaling sharply. she of all ponies should be the last to be lectured on "chances"


"very well..then, I too shall give them a chance. BUT, I shall remain on guard never-the-less."


Celestia smiled. "That is all I ask of you, dear sister."


At that moment, a dark haired human walked in. "Hi, Mom..Aunt Luna."


the two royal mares looked upon Onyx with warm, loving eyes.


"Hello, Son."

"Greetings, dear nephew."


"So..where's Helen?" said Onyx


Luna raised a brow. "Helen?"


"He means "Helix", Helen is her true name." explained Celestia


"oh."


Celestia looked to her son. "She isn't here, yet. But, she should arrive soon."


"oh.." said Onyx, sitting down beside his mother. "okay."


Luna made a soft noise in her throat. "why would "Helen" have a fake name."


Celestia shrugged. "must be some human tradition...Or, a personal habit of hers."


Onyx tapped his chin, pondering. "hmm..maybe I should give myself a secondary name."


Celestia looked at Onyx. "Oh?, and what would you call yourself, other than the perfect name that I bestowed unto you so long ago?"


Onyx thought for a moment. "how about.."Jet."


Luna repressed a chortle a this. "JET!?"


"Yeah..WHY?, what's wrong with it?!"


Luna couldn't answer..she was too busy snickering as she tried to resist the urge to burst out in laughter.

"oh, LUNA..leave him alone." began Celestia, trying to avoid any embarrassment to her son. "It isn't like you've never given yourself an alternate name."


Celestia then raised a brow, and smirked. "Moona."


Luna immediately stopped laughing. frozen still, her dark blue face now "red"


"(stifled laughter) "Moona!?", are you Serious!?" exclaimed Onyx, fully amused


"HEY!, Don't laugh!! I'm not the only pony who gave herself a name!!" Luna then glared at her sister "SOLEANNA!!"


Onyx was now choking on his own repressed laughter. "M-MOM!?"


Celestia remained calm, not taking Luna's 'potshot' in any offense. "I thought it was a good name for me."


The joy of the family was sadly brought to a halt by the arrival of 'another' family member: Prince Blueblood.
it was no secret that the blonde maned unicorn despised his "cousin", Onyx..but, Celestia held on to some hope that he might come around.

Thankfully, Luna was a bit more realistic than she was.


"oh..hello, "cousin." said Blueblood, who said the word "cousin" as if it left a bad taste in his mouth

Onyx had no more love for Blueblood than the unicorn in question had for him..but, he put on his best smile regardless, and tried to be civil for his mother. "Always a pleasure to see you, too..COUSIN."


Blueblood grumbled as he sat quite the distance away from Onyx. after a few minutes, he became impatient. "Where is the food!?"


"Still being prepared." said Celestia


Blueblood grumbled. "I'll fire those cooks, and lock them away in the dungeon for their laziness."


"You don't have that kind of authority *thank zacherle*..and, besides: That isn't how we do things." said Luna, sternly "All creatures are to be treated with respect..even servants."


"Oh, PLEASE..they are lower than those changeling abominat-" one look from Celestia shut Blueblood right up.


Onyx smirked at his mother "you have GOT to teach me that trick."

Celestia smirked right back at him. "maybe when you're older."


At that moment, a pony dressed in regal clothing walked in. he blew a trumpet, and spoke out loud. "Presenting the Earth Ambassador: Lady Helix of Helixopolis."


the royal family watched as two human walked into the dining room. both of them female.


"Greeting, Helen..so good of you to join us for dinner." said Celestia, cheerfully


Helix grinned. "Well, so long as I am a guest in this charming castle. It is only courteous to attend you're little banquet."

Scarlett just rolled her eyes at this.


"oh, grateous..not more hairless apes." muttered Blueblood. unfortunately, Blueblood wasn't quiet enough with his insult..as Scarlett was immediately glaring at him.


"WHAT did you just call us!!?" snapped Scarlett, her eyes burning


"Settle DOWN, Scarlett." said Helix, sternly "We came to dine..not battle. and, besides: any fight with Prince Blueblood would be a short one, anyway."


"Really?" said Blueblood, feeling flattered


"Oh, yes.." continued Helix, smirking "when it comes to combat, your are about as dangerous as butterfly."


It took a minute before the unicorn finally figured out what Helix meant by that. Onyx, however was already smickering.

"how DARE you mock a Prince of Equestria!!"


"BLUEBLOOD." said Celestia, sternly "Need I remind you that Helix is our guest. and, if you ever expect me to bestow the crown to you again..then, you had better prove to me that you can be civil by showing respect to you're peers."


"I will when SHE gives me the respect that I deserve!!" snapped Blueblood


Helix snickered as she sat down. "oh, I have given you all the respect that a selfish, arrogant, superior minded prince deserves: Absolutely None. If you don't like it, then I suggest you give me a good reason to treat you otherwise."


Blueblood grew redfaced at this..to which Helix just laughed. "Oh, would you just look at him, Scarlett?..He's just like the 'OTHER' Prince Blueblood, you remember him?!"


"To my never-ending displeasure." said Scarlett, who by now had sat down next to her boss.


Helix continued to chortle. "He ALSO believed he was the center of the whole universe..that he was Zacherle's gift to ponies, perfectly perfect in every way..heh-heh, then reality slammed hard on him like a warhammer to one's skull. when his guards couldn't tale his insolence anymore and abandoned him in the midst of a changeling invasion."

Helix smiled wide, savoring the horrified look on Blueblood's face. "I wonder whatever happened to his remains."


"I managed to salvaged his skull." began Scarlett "heh-hah-hah!, I use it as a paperweight."


"What ARE you two talking about?!" question Luna, confused


"Oh, we are referring to events we witnessed on ANOTHER Equestria.." said Helix "one that exists in another universe."


"Another Equestria?.." said Luna, bewildered "can there BE such a thing!?"


"There is." said Helix, relaxing in her chair. "I've SEEN them myself."


"and, in this other Equestria, my cousin Blueblood was eaten alive by changelings?" Onyx stifled a chuckle. "I'm almost afraid to ask, but..how was his funeral?"


"oh, it was DAYS before anyone noticed he was gone. so, by the time they figured out he was DEAD, there wasn't much that could be done about it."


"Could we PLEASE talk about something else!!?" snapped Blueblood, redfaced


Scarlett glared daggers at the unicorn. Helix, however..took it all in stride. "Oh..very well."


Thankfully, the maids and butlers all walked in at that time with carts and silver platters of various food.
as usual, the Celestia, Luna and Blueblood received vegan diets, while Helix, Scarlett and Onyx received mixed foods.


"Why don't we talk about your work, Ms. Helix." began Luna


"my work?"


"Yes. I would love to better understand what you do."


Helix grinned as she took a small bite of lettuce with a tiny fork. "well..goodness, where should I begin?!"


"well..why don't we start with early life. what can you tell me of you're family, Helen?"


Helix eyed the dark blue mare. "that's a bit personal, don't you think?"


"I mean no harm. I just wish to know you, that's all."


Helix stared off..and, smiled. "alright..I suppose it wouldn't hurt to talk, Confess, maybe."


"go on."


the woman exhaled sharply. recounting her earliest years. "I was never close to my parents. My mother was beautiful, famous..RICH. in some ways, she was "royalty" herself. unfortunately, her career left her with very little time for me.

I spent most of my childhood with my father..who hated me."


"Why would he hate you?" questioned Luna


"because he was sexist. he wanted a STRONG Son..instead, he got ME: a weak little girl. and, he never missed an opportunity to remind me of that. anytime he felt down, all he had to do was walk up and give me a give smack across the face..and, he felt better. Sometimes, he would verbally abuse me, calling me a "worthless, stupid little b*tch"..and, some others that weren't very nice." 


Luna had a look of disgust on her face. "oh, my..That's horrible!"


"Didn't you're mother do anything about it?!, surely you must have told her." asked Celestia


Helix chuckled lightly as she took a drink of wine. "Mother was more worried over how my abuse would make HER look, than any well being for me. She told me to keep my mouth shut, and cover up my scars and bruises with make-up. *she had AH-LOT of make-up.*"


Onyx narrowed his eyes. finding Helix's story oddly similar to his own suffering when he was a "prisoner" on Gryphon. "Didn't you find any relief?!"

Helix smiled. "Well..I learned to doctor myself at a young age. which eventually led to my interest in Science, which I practiced at odd hours. Away from the prying eyes of my wretched father."


Blueblood snorted as he ate his carrots "loudly."


"When did it all end?" said Onyx, sternly


"When I was twelve. mother's fame died out, and my injuries became so severe, mere make-up could no longer hide them. in the end, my father went to prison for child abuse..and, my mother, unable to cope with being a 'hasbeen', was committed."


"Committed?" questioned Luna, confused


"To a Mental Institution." said Helix


Celestia and Luna remained confused. So, Scarlett, he was eating a pot-roast, spoke for Helix. "It's like a prison, only it has padded cells and the inmates are all crazy people."


"ANYway, My life really took off after that." continued Helix. "with my uncaring parents no longer dragging me down, I was free to pursue my scientific endeavors to my heart's content. Why, some of my greatest successes originated during my earliest years in high school..which flourish come the college years."


"You sound alot like Twilight." said Onyx, smiling


Celestia tapped her chin. "last night..when I was a guest aboard you're ship, It was explained to me that your sole goal in life is to eradicate chaos, and restore order."


"EverLASTING order." corrected Helix


"yes-yes..could you explain HOW you came to that way of thinking? You couldn't have just decided upon such a crusade overnight."


Helix put her claw-like hands together, a brooding look on her face. "no..it didn't. It was a gradual process."


"When did it start?" asked Celestia


"Let's just say that despite the technological marvels that my world possesses, It is anything BUT perfect. Apart from the organized crime, corruption in the law and extreme terrorism, It can be difficult to see any "sunlight" in a thunderstorm..

At first, I thought it might be easier to just..Run Away to a better world *like this one*, which was one reason why I constructed my first Trans-Dimensional Inducer. to venture to other worlds, and find the hope that I desperately craved.

BUT..no matter where in the multiverse I went, I saw the same thing: Violence..Chaos..DEATH. oh, it came in different packages, to be sure. but, it was all the same everywhere: Chaos Reigned, and innocents suffered.


So, one day..I stopped running. I decided to dedicate myself eliminating chaos, bringing about True, Everlasting Peace and Order. decided to give people hope, rather than just wait for it to happen."


"and..how DO you go about you're crusade for Order?" inquired Luna, her tone suspicious


Helix smirked as she held a half empty glass of wine in her hand. "Ask Celestia..SHE has been aboard my airship."


an unsure look formed on Princess Celestia's face. "You're..airship seems more like a war machine. crewed by a grand army, armed with the most advanced weaponry that I have ever seen."


While Scarlett nervously picks at her steak knife, Helix just chortles softly as she takes another sip of wine.


"Si quieres la paz, prepara la guerra. " said Helix, calmly. predictably, nobody, except Scarlett, knew what Helix had just said.


"I'm sorry, What?!" said Celestia


"It's Spanish, a human language." began Scarlett, matter-of-factly "It's translates: "If you want Peace..Prepare for WAR."


"Indeed." said Helix "It pays to be proactive, not wait for danger to come before you do something. but, to be ready for any threat..even the one we don't expect, or NEVER expect, to happen."


Helix looked right at Celestia. "Think of what happened only yesterday..Emperor Gryffin ambushed you in your own kingdom, and nearly killed you're precious Onyx. If you were more prepared, like I am, then you wouldn't have needed me to come to your rescue. You could have fought him off all on you're own."


"Y-Yes, well-"


"And, what if the Griffon Emperor decided to invade RIGHT. THIS. Very. moment., His forced would be at your gates before you even had time to think up a plan."


Celestia stampered and stuttered, trying to find words to make a reasonable argument..but, could find none to rebuff the human's words.

instead, she just sighed..hanging her head low.


"you..are right." admitted Celestia, defeated "I was ill prepared for a surprise attack. and, even my best guards cannot match the ferocity of a Griffon Warrior."


Helix frowned. "yes, well..perhaps I am being a tad too hard on you. It isn't you're fault you choose to 'Flee', rather than 'Fight'..It IS you're "Nature", afterall."


Celestia looked at Helix. "Nature?!"


"Despite you're 'sentience', you are still no different than the feral equine back in my world. True Horses and Ponies tend to stay in large groups, and run at the first sign of trouble.

That way, if ONE becomes a lion's next meal..the others live to graze and run another day. It is VERY rare for an equine to face danger head on."


"But, I am not an animal, Ms. Helix." said Celestia, almost feeling offended


"Not in the broader sense. but, despite your human-like mentality..you do have "primal instincts" that manifest on occasion."


"oh, don't be ridiculous." said Celestia, eating her grass and hay salad


"oh, no?.." began Helix, eyeing the princess "What of all the times you're "son" has eaten meat?. don't tell me you've never felt a tad "queasy" when watching him consume flesh."


Celestia glanced at Helix, a nervous look on her face. Onyx eyed his mother. "Mom..is that True?!"


Celestia was silent, darting her eyes around nervously. Onyx repeated his question. "Do I..d-disturb you?"


Blueblood choked out a laugh, then quickly acted like nothing was wrong when Luna glared at him.

Celestia looked right at Onyx. "Onyx..I love you, son. more than anything. and, I don't care what you are..but, yes: when you eat meat..I do feel "disturbed." it's very scent makes me feel ill."


"But, of course it does." continued Helix. "You are a herbaceous species, plants and vegetation are you're diet. as such, carnivorous diets make you uneasy, because your primal instincts see it as a sign of danger..that YOU might become the next meal."


Celestia said nothing to rebuke Helix's claims. Deep down..she knew she was right.


"That's ridiculous!" said, Onyx finally "I, mean..Yeah, I eat meat. but, I would NEVER even dream of killing and eating ponies like some monster."


"Actually, SOME humans back in our world DO eat 'horse meat' but, only in some nations." said Scarlett, with a sly grin


Onyx grew pale at this..so, Helix spoke up. "YES, but in MOST countries it is considered illegal for humans to feast on equines. not when they are more useful as workers and pets, than consumption."


Luna raised a brow at this. "Workers?..PETS!?"


"Don't take it the wrong way, Princess..many humans treat equines just as well as other people. So, don't think that 'my world' is one where YOUR kind are abused slaves, or anything like that."


Helix looked at Celestia. "the POINT is, that while you may find my methods of peace "questionable"..one cannot argue with the results."


Celestia was silent..but, eventually nodded in agreement.

after a brief silence, Luna spoke up again. "What of Scarlett?..what is HER story?"


"None of you're d*mn business, that's what!" said Scarlett, biting aggressively into a hunk of meat.


"SCARLETT, be polite." said Helix with a firm tone


the red haired woman glared at her boss. "Just because YOU told these grass eaters your "sob story", it doesn't mean I'M gonna do it."


Helix smiled weakly at the others. "You really must pardon my assistant's "attitude." Her past is a touchy subject, one she doesn't discuss with just anyone."


Blueblood scoffed at this. "Like I even care. the problems of peasants is beneath me-" SWOOSH!! Blueblood was silenced by a knife that flew by suddenly, slicing off bits of his mane before remaining firming embedded in a wall.

the knife was Scarlett's..who threw it at him in rage.


the room grew deathly silent as Scarlett cast a death glare at the petrified unicorn. "say one more insulting word to or OF me again, FILTHY BEAST. and next time..I'll bury my knife into YOUR HIDE!!"


Blueblood fainted, and fell right out of his chair.

while Onyx chuckled at this, Helix just glared at Scarlett. "It would seem 'SOMEONE' lied when she told me that she had taken her medication before we came to dinner."


Scarlett glared right back at Helix. "those d*mned pills of yours dull my senses, I need to be SHARP!!" growled Scarlett


"Scarlett..TAKE YOU'RE PILLS." said Helix, sternly


Scarlett grumbled as she took out a tin case from her pocket. she opened it, took out two capsules and swallowed them in one gulp.


"what..Are those things?" asked Luna


"Medication that I made 'specially for Scarlett. It helps to quell her more "aggressive" behavior. otherwise, she goes into an explosive rage against the slightest thing that upsets her."


Celestia cringed upon remember when Scarlett brutally beat the griffon emperor near to death. If THAT was a more "tamed" Scarlett, then she dreaded what an out-of-control Scarlett was like.


Just then, a loud ringing was heard. Helix pull out a small device from her pocket. she put it at her ear, and began speaking.


"Yes?. oh..this had better be important, I am having dinner with-, OH..I see. Well..Okay, I'll be right there." BEEP!


"Is..something wrong?" asked Celestia, curious


Helix looked at the Alicorn. "Oh, no..not at all. something just came up, So I must leave you for a moment to take care of it."


Celestia nodded. "I understand..more than you know."


Helix nodded as she scooted her chair back and rose up from her seat. "Scarlett, COME."

Scarlett grumbled something in a foreign language. but, she too also got out of her seat. once the two humans departed, Luna looked at Celestia. "alright..I suppose Helix, or HELEN, is a poor soul with noble intentions. But, that Scarlett person still leaves me with feelings of Dread and Concern."


"Give her a chance, dear sister. Anypony with that much angry must have been through great pain..and, deserve our sympathy."


Onyx was still and silent, his mind brooding on many different things. He at last focused on Helix, and wondered just what sort of 'important business' that she was taking care of.








Helix walked down a darkened corridor and into the castle gardens. stopping near some rose bushes, she patiently waited.

In no time at all, an sparkling orb of light raced towards her. it stopped before her, and materialized into a life form. the being in questioned looked like a human, but had elven ears, insect wings and was no bigger than a "breezie."


"Vidia..and, how is my favorite little spy?!, anything to report?"


the dark haired fairy nodded. "my reconnaissance at Gryphon has born fruit."


"and, what "juicy" facts have you found for me?"


"That there is at least ONE in Gryphon who hates the griffon emperor just as much as Prince Onyx does."


Helix grinned at this. "Hmm..that could prove useful in the near future. But, I need alot more that just 'One-Griffon-Hates-His-Guts' to seriously act upon it."


Vidia nodded. "Understood. I shall return to the kingdom on the mountain, and continue my observation." with that, the fairy flew away at an incredible speed, disappearing into the night.


Helix smirked as she watched the night sky. "I knew bringing that moody pixie fairy into my fold would payoff one day."
