> Royal Prank war > by Novalis14 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Let the pranking commence! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Sister I was talking to Twilight, and she mentioned something called pranking...I'm not familiar with that term." Celestia placed her tea cup down in its saucer “Well pranking is when someone plays a practical joke on someone else.” Luna rubbed her chin and pondered, and suddenly became frightened. "Looketh behind you sister! It's discord!" Celestia whipped around, her horn glowing to see nothing behind her. After a few moments of searching, she realized what was going on and turned back to her sister with one eyebrow raised. “I believe you have got the hang of it.” Luna clapped her hooves together and smiled with delight, "This pranking is most enjoyable. I can see why your student spoke so highly of it." “It can be a most enjoyable pass time if done right.” Celestia raised her teacup to her muzzle and took a sip. No sooner than she did, Luna sprouted an ethereal mustache. "A mustache really sister?" Luna asked as she used magic to cut it off. "I don’t believe anyone could ever misuse the powers of pranking. Now if you'll excuse me, night court awaits. Oh And you’ll find I'm not the only one with a mustache" Luna snickered and walked away. She stumbled a bit from a laughter and a paint brush rolled back to Celestia. Celestia’s eyes crossed as she looked at her new mustache and she giggled, and levitated a napkin to wipe it off. It was good to see Luna having fun again. As the sun set later that day Celestia sat in her room searching through a book for a certain spell. When she found what she was looking for she gave a small laugh before sneaking out of her room and over to her sister's. As Luna slept soundly in her bed, Celestia cast the spell grinning devilishly she snuck out of the room. Luna got out of bed as usual, except this time it took a little longer for her hooves to reach the floor. Oh well she thought as she trotted to her bathroom, her eyes half closed. She turned to look in the mirror but met only with white porcelain. "By starswirls beard what's going on?" Luna used her wings to fly up higher. It was a lot more difficult than it should have been and she had less control than usual. She hadn't had that problem since she was......a filly. She put more strength in her wings, rose up and looked in the mirror. "CELESTIA!!" she squeaked in her new high pitched voice. As Celestia finished brushing her hair and replaced her crown, she heard the sound of the- albeit a squeaker version- royal canterlot voice calling her name. Luna, now only two feet tall, dashed in Celestia's chambers. She stared up at her now much bigger sister and flapped her tiny wings so that they are eye to eye, “It is now on, dearest sister” She said with a grin. Luna flapped her way outside of her sister’s room mumbling something unintelligible, Celestia couldn't help but laugh. Sadly, she would have to put a hold on her victory celebration, royal duties called her name. Yet as she tried to take a step, her hoof was met with some resistance. She looked down and saw that she was standing in a white adhesive substance. She heard laughter, she looked up only to notice filly Luna holding a bottle of discords crazy glue, extra strength. "It would be a shame, dear sister... if you miss today In its entirety" Luna sneered. "Woona please....royal business..." Being stuck -literally- in her room Celestia began to concoct her revenge. After the solvent arrived and was administered, Celestia snuck into the barracks armory and levitated the Lunar guard's uniforms closer to her. A devilish smiled appeared as she levitated several buckets of paint and a basket filled with craft supplies closer to her. Later that day, as Woona was waiting to give her guards an inspection, the captain came up to her. “Um princess, we seem to be having trouble with our uniforms and wish to delay the inspection.” Luna replied, “It doesn't matter. Have them come out, problems and all.” The guard cringed slightly ,but bowed and turned back to the barraks . A few minutes later, Luna's guards came out wearing bright pink armor covered in flowers, tutus surrounded the middle of the body. Luna stared for a moment unsure whether or not to laugh. "Maybe we should, for the inspection...have the men clean their uniforms and report back." The gaurds bowed and shuffled back into the barracks Luna let a week pass before she tried anything , she also waited for when her sister needed rest desperately. She watch her sister retire to her room and let her get into a deep sleep, then she entered her sisters dreams. "Hello sister. Now don't worry I have something special planned." Luna snapped her hoofs and a 100 discords, each dressed in a ridiculous outfit, surrounded Celestia in her dreams. Each began telling jokes, making terrible puns, or making unsolvable riddles. Luna only laughed as Celestia’s eyes twitched. "See you in eight hours dear sister." Celestia finally awoke, gasping. Her nightmare finally over, she grouchily shoved her crown onto her head and went about her morning. When she sat down to breakfast, Luna sat there with a smug grin on her face. “How did you sleep sister?” Celestia just looked at Luna and casted a teleportation spell on her. The next thing Luna knew, she was sitting on the moon;a plate of scones in front of her. Luna didn't mind the moon. She really didn’t. It was just the random teleportation that annoyed her. She would get her sister back. After a moment, she teleported back to the castle. Her sister lay sleeping at the table With her horn pointing forward. "Perhaps not enough sleep last night?" Luna chuckled to herself. Then an idea popped into her head and she returned to the moon conjuring a box of Powdered donuts. She grabbed one with her magic and aimed for Celestia horn. As Celestia sat in the courtyard addressing a group of ponies, she heard a whistling and an uncomfortably warm powdered doughnut bounced off her head. This was quickly followed by over a dozen more. She ducked for cover and waited for the attack to end. When the barrage finally stopped and the powdered donut cloud settled, Celestia stood while the ponies attempted and failed to keep their giggles in check. Only when she conjured a mirror to look at herself, did she notice why the attack began. "Oh Luna, you chose the wrong alicorn to mess with today!" Celestia dashed around the canterlot archives. "Oh why are there so many books on laws and politics and so few on how to prank ponies?" She asked herself. After over an hour of searching, she found a small volume entitled “Pranks for Any Occasion and Any Victim.” The monarch of the sun flipped feverishly through the book until she froze on the perfect prank for her target. As Luna lay back in the hot tub, she let herself melt into the foaming water. Her body fully submerged. After about an hour, she slowly pulled herself out and trotted over to a mirrored table And brushed her mane. The brush however soon became acquainted with the ground as Luna’s jaw dropped. She was hot pink from snout to tail ,and to add insult to injury, a puff of smoke enveloped her only to fade away to reveal a ruffled pink dress and two enormous cream bows tying back her mane and tail "Oh sister~" Luna looked over her shoulder to see Celestia running away "I may be new at this, but you have no idea who you are messing." Luna then went through the tedious process of removing this unbefitting outfit. She had to admit, she looked cute like this. After many hours, Luna learned where the best pranksters in Equestria were. Immediately, she gathered a chariot team and left for Ponyville. An hour later, she was sitting in front of two mares in a dark room. "We hear you need help." One said. " Well yes," Luna replied " I sent a scroll to you both, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. Why do you move in such secrecy?" "You ruined it Luna..." said Rainbow dash. "Just help me prank my sister." Pinkie pie came from the shadows and laid a folder in front of Luna. "Use this...trust us." Luna opened the folder scanning it's contents, her grin turned carnivorous. Celestia awoke, rested but on edge. Luna hadn't pranked her in a week. Did she give up or merely get bored? She exited her room and saw a chef passing her. "Mr. Chef...could you fix me a salad?" She asked. "Like I would take orders from you!" Responded the chef. He had a real thick French snarky accent. "I am the princess!" "As if someone of your statues could be the princess." Laughed the chef as he walked away. Celestia, dumbfounded, went to talk to a nearby guard who seem taller. Ever on point, he noticed her but didn't salute. "No salute?" She asked "You deserve no salute." "Uh..." She simply shook it out her head "How is the military running?" "None of your concern. Now run along." "Why I never...I will repre..." Celestia noticed her reflection. She looked like nothing more than a common house maid. In her reflection she also saw Luna pass by. "You there!" she said," I require a maid to follow me around and do my bidding." "No Luna!" Celestia said before being pushed by the guard. "Don't talk back to a princess! Now go!" By the end of that day, Celestia knew one thing, she had never work harder in her life. As the spell wore off, Celestia walked into her room. She made a note to reprimand her staff for their rudeness to others and then collapsed on her bed. The next morning she woke with a vengeance. She acted as if nothing had happened but in her mind she was becoming obsessed with prank revenge. That night, after Luna finished raising the moon and arranging the stars, Celestia went out onto her balcony and stared at the sky. Her horn glowed as she gave a slightly insane grin. When Luna came outside to give one final glance at the sky, she froze. The stars that she had placed in their usual array, no longer were in that form. Instead, they outlined an image of Luna wearing footy pajamas and hugging a stuffed teddy bear the words “The monarch of the night” scrawled above it. Luna scrunched her face in embarrassment. Celestia had basically exposed Luna’s biggest secret. "Its okay Sir Stuffytons. I'll avenge thou’s softness." Promised Luna as she hugged her teddy bear. The day was sunny and bright since guess from Saddle Arabia were visiting. Celestia wanted to make a good impression. All seemed to be going right until Luna decided to come to the table with a slice of cake. A vindictive aura came from her, yet it seemed that Celestia was the only one who could sense it. The Saddle Arabian leaders seemed happy that Luna had cut a slice of cake brought from their home country. "Sister, you have to try this cake! It’s so delicious and moist." Luna's words were dripping with bile. It was an obvious trap, but Celestia couldn't resist without risking bad relations between the two countries. She sighed and took a bite as Luna’s smile grew. The cake was good, and nothing bad happened. Celestia was about to comment on how good the cake was until a rumble her stomach stopped her. Noises erupted from deep in her bowels until they released from her backside in a glorious explosion of Flatulence. The party had to be evacuated and Celestia knew the relationship between the two countries would most likely become strained. Celestia sat in her room surrounded by books on pranking. She had been in her room for days and the staff was becoming worried. The guards had been assigned to confront her and a guard, Hardened Helm, had drawn the shortest straw. As he poked his head in and observed the princess, he cleared his throat to get her attention. Celestia turned to face him. “Um princess the rest of the guards and I have been talking, and we believe that this ‘prank war’ is beginning to get out of hoof. It is starting to affect the rest of canterlot and even Equestria somewhat.” He fell silent and waited for her response. Celestia sighed and put her book down. “You’re right.” She slowly stood up and walked to her mirror. She smiled at her bedraggled state and quickly freshened up before heading over to her sister’s room. As she opened the door, she was peeved to see Luna, looking good as ever, was peacefully reading a Daring Do book. As Luna looked up, she smiled. “Have you come to declare your defeat?” She asked arrogantly. Celestia’s eye gave an involuntary twitch before she exhaled slowly and spoke, “No I do not surrender, however our pranks have become a problem for our staff and subjects. So, I wish to declare a truce.” Luna looked her sister over checking to see if she had a beehive or something hidden and ready to drop on her. When she was sure that there was no possibility of a hidden prank ,she got up and put out her hoof to shake. Luna and Celestia sat on a cloud above the Everfree forest. They each Pulled out one feather from eachother and used them as the quills they each signed their names at the bottom of a document. It read: As of Sep 13, 7 A.L.R(after Luna’s Returns) ,Princess Celestia of the sun and Princess Luna of the moon do solemnly swear to cease pranking each other and declare any future royal prank wars illegal.” As Luna rolled up the scroll, she produced a banana cream pie. “To seal the deal.” she explained. They each took half the pie in their magic. Soon their eyes met and a smile crept onto both their faces.
