> The TF Angel Squad > by Homeless-Jmart > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Backstory > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Grey Mann killed Blutarch and Redmann the great red team was called in to work for Mann Co, but what about the Blu's? Everyone thought they were told to get lost, but that wasn't the case. Saxton had doubts about the Red team being able to hold off the robots. So in secret every day he trained the Blu's, he taught them every fighting style he knew and made them into super-soldiers, able to destroy anything in their path. Although, little did Saxton know they were also being trained by The Adminastrator. She taught them every battle tactic known to Mann. They were unstoppable, rummor has it the soldier, who was the pupil of both Saxton and The Administrator, was able to take down Saxton in a one on one sparring match. Although the entire team was not treated equal, they were all assigned ranks, and only one got The Team Captain. Saxton's records ranks them as follows: Captain- Soldier, Lt- Medic, Sgt's- Sniper, and Scout, Cpl's- Engineer and Spy, Pfc- Heavy, and Pvt's- Demoman, and Pyro. While Saxton treated them differently the team learned to obey the ones above them and respect the ones below. They learned to fight together, to use each other's strengeh and cover each other's weaknesses. When training was complete Saxton dubbed the Blu team the Angel Squad, an unstoppable fighting force. No longer did they wear the Blu uniforms, now they wore white uniforms. While the Red team was fighting robots at the front with their upgrades, the Angles were training with completely new or modified weapons. They had drum fed weapons, never a need to reload, just constant firing. The Scout's drum fed scattergun and the Soldier's drum fed rocket launchers worked like charms. Special advanced technical engineering helped the Engineer learn to build the level 4 sentry and dispenser, but the downside to them was he couldn't move them. Everyone else just generally had better weapons, like the Medic's fused medigun with the abilities of the Kritzkrieg and the Medigun. So they were all suppost to wake up today for early sparring matches, too bad they never woke up in Mann Co. > Setup > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Where are we going?!" Shouted the Medic as he ran just behind the Soldier. "The town," he pointed, "just up ahead!" Sure enough in the late hours of the night in the pinkish glow, the shadow of a town was visible. "We have to get there, it may be under attack, defend civilians at all cost! Unless you forgot?" The Soldier said. "Nien!" The Medic responded. "Good, that's what I wanna hear!" Then somewhere from the back Heavy yelled, "Incoming!" They all turned around and were greated by a glowing rocket flying towards them. "Everyone, behind me!" the Medic shouted as a shield of white energy stopped the rocket before it could hit them. "Keep moving!" the Soldier shouted. "Soldier, jump!" Medic said as he started healing him with the Kritzgun. "Oh yea!" He said as he rocket jumped the Medic and himself into the air through the canopy of the forest above them and shot five rapid fire rockets about 10 yards behind the group. When they came back down the rockets had just hit the ground knocking over trees behind them. After the sound of a thud was heard another sound, a scream was heard. "Was that a civilian?" the Scout asked. "How am I suppost to know?" Soldier responded. "Damit Captain you know our regs! No civilans in the line of fire! And, to me that scream sounded a bit too girly to be anything evil." "Look son, we need to make it to that village. We woke up in the middle of this forest and then we came under fire we have to get a foothold somewhere easy to defend, and that town is looking good to me right now!" "I agree, but we must reach it quickly, whatever is chasing us is gaining!" called the spy. "How can you tell?" Soldier asked. "The sun is coming up, I can't see them but I can see shadows moving." "Just remember men, no attacking anyone in the village unless they attack first." Soldier shouted. "Oh sure, now we follow regulation." Scout muttered under his breath. *~*~*~*~*~*~* 7:30, 11 Hours Earlier "Wow! Ah never knew there was a village in the Everfree Forest." Applebloom said as she walked down another corner. "I could've sworn I saw that thing go into that house." She said as she came up to a dark house with a deep overgrowth. She slowly walked up to the house and knocked. Upon knocking the door slowly opened, revealing a small house with a small interior and a burning fireplace. "Hello?" She called into the house hoping someone would come out, but nothing. It was beginning to get dark out and she decided to stay for the night, hopefully whoever lived here wouldn't mind. She figured they wouldn't mind, the whole town seemed so friendly. So after curling into the only bed in the house she fell asleep. When she awoke the clock read 6:15, she looked around the house checking once again to no avail. She began to shiver, so she walked over to the fireplace, closed her eyes and laid down. She was curious as to how the fire stayed lit the entire night, but she didn't care. It was as if the floor next to the fireplace was more comfortable then the bed, and it was definitely warmer. 'Help.' she heard a voice whisper, Run. She opened her eyes to be greeted by a burning skeleton skull burning in the fireplace. She shrieked and backed away to the other side of the house. Run! the whispery voice said again. This time Applebloom took the voice's advice and threw open the door, and ran outside. Upon getting outside she ran to the end of the path leading to the house and the happy village that was once outside laid in ruin. "What happened?" She muttered as she looked around. Then she noticed more skeletons in front of them, but these ones were animate, these ones were walking. Walking towards her. She screamed and ran back towards the house only to be cut off by ponies with their flesh barely hanging onto their bones. She was surrounded. "P-please don't hurt me." She said with tears forming at her eyes. "Don't worry-" said one of the zombie ponies, "we won't let the same thing happen to you, we will protect you." *~*~*~*~*~*~* The Angles just reached the village as the sun began to peak up above the rolling hills. They arrived and were surprised to see that the residents were not humans but ponies, unicorns, and pegasi. Not just that but they could talk and were intelligent too. So they decided to talk to the village's leader who also happened to be one of the monarchy's princesses. "So you're called humans? And you say you have no clue how you got here or who attacked you in the forest?" Asked Twilight Sparkle. "Yes madam." Said Spy, "We wish not to invoke hostilities we are highly trained mercenaries tasked to defend innocent people and defend Mann Co." Said Soldier. "I'm sorry you are hear and I assure no one we know should attack you, we are a very peaceful race." She said. "Well yea, considering you all are ponies." Said Scout. "Oh so you have ponies on your world too?" Twilight asked. "Yea, but they are usually not so colorful and small as you." "Well ok then we promise we will work to find you a way back to your home." She said. "I'm sure you will mate, but we need all focus on these unknown things that attacked us." Said Sniper, "We are very concerned, I've have tracked animals before I saw hoof prints ahead of us in the forest as well. Could've been scouts. This town might be in danger." "But why us? Why now?" Asked Twilight. "Your guess is as good as ours, but if your town ist in danger we must defend you all!" Said Medic. "But we just met why would you be willing to risk your lives to defend us?" The group looked at each other and smiled and said, "We live by a code that states, 'We will defend all that are innocent and crush anything that threatens peace and safety of anyone innocent." > Checking In > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Engineer!" Soldier called to the welding man "How's the wall coming along?" "Got three fourths of the wall surrounding the battlements." He said in response. "This is not the battlements, this is Poniville, a civilian town." Soldier said. "Yea yea, you want me to finish the wall?" He asked. "No we need a place to shoot from, your done here. Now you must set up over on the unwalled north side of town." Soldier ordered. "Alright then." Engineer responded. "And Engineer, your sure these walls are strong?" "Absolutely, I wouldn't be surprised if they were still standing after a nuclear explosion." "Good work soldier, dismissed!" *~*~*~*~*~* "Heavy, how are the weapons?" Soldier asked walking up.zr "Is good, Engineer build every weapon Mann co supply us with." Heavy responded. "Good, Engie's been busy these last couple hours. Well good work heavy, and remember always be on your toes." He said walking away. Next soldier stopped to check in with Sniper. "How's it going?" He said walking up. "Good." Sniper said polishing his modified bazaar bargain. "Feeling lucky today?" He asked looking at the rifle. "Not lucky-" Sniper said, "professional. Tinkered with it a bit, now it doesn't need the laser, and it charges just as fast as a regular sniper without any heads bagged. So you can imagine what it'll be like when the heads are rolling in the fight. Though I need a spotter, would certainly help a lot." "Why don't you go ask around the village, I'm sure you'll find some-uh-pony?" "Well-" Sniper chuckled, "certainly will be interested working with a pony." "That it will son, that it will." He said walking away. *~*~*~*~*~* "And done!" Engineer said wiping removing his stetson and wiping sweat off his forehead. He stepped back admiring his work, and he realized he did a lot in 10 hours. Almost everything but sleep. He decided since there was a level four sentry guarding the north front now was a good a time as any to rest up for tonight. He found a nearby bench and drifted off. An hour later the sun was just begun to set, the bright setting sun shining into the closed eyes of the engineer. He slowly awoke, sitting up , and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He saw the sun setting and begun walking towards the center of town. He was just able to see a pony walking not 10 yards away, then he noticed the hat on the head of the pony. It was wearing a hat and not any hat, his stetson. "Hey!" He called, "What do you think y'all are doin wearing mah hat?" The pony turned around and gasped, "Oh," She said, "you must be one of those, uh what where they called, oh yea, humans. And are y'all talkin about that there hat on your head?" She said pointing towards the clear as day hat on his head. "Oh, uh yea that'd be the one." He said scratching the back of his neck, "Ya know I just where this thing all the time it feels like a second skin." "Yea, Ah know what ya mean. Something this thing is on my head and I forget its even there." "Well I uh got to go, but uh where are my manners-" She said sticking out a hoof, "names Applejack." "Dell, Dell Conagher, but everyone calls me Engineer." He slowly reached out, but she was faster and, somehow she actually grabbed his hand and shook it wildly. "Well Ah'd love to stay and chat but, I got to look for mah sister. She was in the Everfree Forest last night visiting Zecora, but she never came back. Zecora evacuated the forest when the order was given, but she said she sent Applebloom home last night. I'm really worried." "Didn't Scout say somethin about a girly scream last night in the forest." He said rubbing he 5 o'clock shadow. "Scout?" "About nineteen, Boston accent, up in you face attitude." He said giving his best discription of the kid. "Uh, what's Boston." "A city where where I'm from. Trust me y'all will know him when you see him." "Thank ya very kindly Mister Conagher Ah'll go look for this Scout. Bye!" She said trotting off. "Seems like a great pony. Defenatly has a good taste in hats." He said walking towards the temporary base. *~*~*~*~*~* Scout was sitting on the roof of the town hall eating one of Heavy's sandviches and a special Double Donk! Bonk! Little recipe of his own that's better than Bonk! Atomic Punch! and tastes better too. He was just beginning to doze off when he heard someone call mister up to him. "Yea?" He called down looking down over the edge at this orange pony."Uh, hi name's Applejack. I'm looking for one of your people. Dell told me he goes by Scout." She called up at him. He took one last sip out of his soda and, with all the grace and speed of a cheetah, got down off the roof. She was looking at him with awestruck eyes, "Well you happened to find the one and only." He boasted, "Or at least on this planet." He muttered. "Anyway, what's up?" "Well, Dell told me that you heard a girl scream in the forest, and I can't seem to find my little sister anywhere. I'm worried." She said looking at him with pleading eves. "Uh yea I did, whoever that was screaming was scared of something, and with good reason there is something dangerous in that forest." "Something dangerous?" "Yea, Medic saved all our asses from some sort of rocket." "Well, your a scout right?" "I prefer rapid recovery specialist, but yea. Why?" He asked. "Cuz I have a job for you."
