Goodbye

Some nights I lie awake, wondering about my life and the choices I've made. Other nights I’m crying, and wondering why they’ve done this to me. I can’t believe that I let them take my life and throw it away like they've done. I’m alone and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I want someone here to guide me in the right direction. But this time, I’m thinking of just leaving and not coming back to where I do, so they don’t find me again.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to see such torment upon such a young spirit like mine, even though I always did what they wanted. I did my chores, got good grades, listened to them. Why am I here and why can’t I break free of my prison inside. I can’t see why I’m tortured in the way I am.

I’m sorry I was everything you wanted. I’m sorry it had to end like this and in the way it did. I can’t apologize enough for the way it did everything. But it’s not my turn to apologize for what I’ve done, it’s yours.

It’s your fault I don’t have friends or a cutie mark. It’s your fault I am the way I am. It’s all YOUR fault and I can’t wait to show what I’ve taught myself to do. I’ve taught myself how to kill, I’ve taught myself how to fight. YOU NEVER did anything for me. I’m glad I’m where I am now.

“Well, what are you waiting for?! PULL THE LEVER AND THEY WON’T HURT YOU ANYMORE!” An angry Rainbow Dash said to a smirking Shadow Chaser.

“ OH I know they won’t hurt me anymore, but I want to enjoy this moment. They always hurt me and now I get to see the tables turn.” She said, turning to her parents who were starting to cry. “How does it feel?! How does it feel to have the tables turn on you and you get to be the ones pushed, shoved, beat, punched, abused, unloved?! HOW DOES IT FEEL?! Bet it feels pretty bad. Don’t worry, Soarin, Princess Midnight and I won’t miss you. They know what I’m doing and they say it’s alright because it happened to them. But I was worse off. Now I could let you go, but I would be fired. So I’m not. I’m gonna do what I do best… Good bye, nopony will miss you.” she said walking over to the levers.

“Shadow… Please have mercy on us! We always loved you!” her mother cried.

“Shadow sweetie, you’re overreacting. We would never hurt you, ever!” Shadow’s father lied.

“Yeah, thanks for LIEING again! Look where you are now stupid! You’re constant abuse and lies got you here and they can’t get you out! I think we’re ready to start with the end now. Goodbye, and I’m not sorry it had to end like this.” Shadow said, grinning sadistically at them and let out an evil laugh.

“Pull the lever, and we can watch without our glasses.” Rainbow Dash said, laughing. evilly as well. Shadow nodded and went over to the lever and grasped it. Shadow looked at her parents again and started to pull the lever, and some machines started coming to life. The prisoners started moving towards their death and destruction. The parents started screaming and crying harder. They were inches away from their death when their daughter spoke these final words to them:

“Goodbye, I’m not sorry it ended like this.” She said as the machine started getting the new bodies sorted accordingly.

Their parents couldn't feel their back hooves, because they were gone. Soon their lower stomachs and front hoofs, then their necks, and finally, their heads. Shadow watched their blood, their guts, their everything get sorted into jars, and then they get put into rainbow order. First red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple.

“Now, they’re gone for good. See you in the next rainbow mom and dad.” Shadow left with a laugh, closing the door and taking her lab coat off and hanging it up. “In the Rainbow Factory, where your fears and horrors come true...” she sang to herself. "No one can find out who my parents were, and who ever does, will face the same fate as them." Shadow said to Rainbow.

"Agreed. You can go ahead and take the rest of the day off. You deserve it."

"Are you sure about that Rainbow? I can keep working if you want, I got the big project out of the way. I can do whatever you feel is best for me and so I should probably stop rumbling on and on and take orders from you. So, what do you want/ need me to do?"Shadow asked with haste.

" Shadow, right now I think it's best that you take the rest of the day off, or you can go set up more bodies for "extermination" But being the adult I am, I think you should go get some flying practice in today. It might be good for you." Rainbow advised. Shadow nodded and headed off, not saying a word.

When she was outside, she spoke to nopony in particular.

"Oh man, I REALLY need to see a physiologist about this. I don't think it's too normal to kill your parents and have a job where you do things like I did..." She mumbled. "Here in the dark when you're all alone, you begin to see things... Horrible things... It doesn't bother you as much when you completely loose it in that darkness... Now, I'm gone and there's no turning back. Stay away from me, you won't want to see the darkness arise, for you may have the same fate as many others. Now here I stand and I will always be... me."
