I moved from Manehattan for multiple reasons.
One: I couldn't take it anymore: All of the noise, crime, and most of all the insufferable ponies that lived there.
Two: I knew Manehattan wasn't for me.
Three: The ponies and noise. I know I've said it twice, yet I still can’t fathom how it’s possible for such a place to be so bad in both regards.
Then, I heard of Ponyville. It sounded peaceful; almost a utopia compared to Manehattan, and I found a house! However it did cost quite a small fortune, three thousand bits most definitely is not cheap… I suppose it wouldn't bother them if I told them how I was going to pay it off after I bought the house, preferably in advance. I had to work for about two more weeks before I could make enough to pay a deposit.
I gave a sigh before uttering my thoughts aloud, “Well now what? I'm stuck here for about two or three more weeks."
I thought to myself for with ire, my mind constantly wondering to the thought of Ponyville and what awaited me in the town. I was actually excited to start my two jobs and leave this Celestia forsaken city. I barely got any sleep, on my hard as concrete mattress combined with my excitement.
It's been about a week now and I have finally saved up enough I need, plus the little extra for a train ticket. I sent a letter to the owner of the house with the deposit, I was so excited I forgot to get the name of the pony that owned the property.
I got a letter back in about a day or two. They said that they got the money, no problem and have left the home. The only thing I was aware about Ponyville was that it was a quiet place; ponies were nice and peaceful and overall was very content. My new home.
I looked out of my apartment’s window and gave my final sigh in this city and I watched as the sun began to make it’s decent in the sky. When I leave this place, it would be the first time I've ever left and hopefully the last. I don’t want to come back here, the noise, bustle and aura that each and every pony here seem to wear without remorse was too much to bear. So by tomorrow… I’ll be in my new home.
As soon as I had arrived on the train my eyes felt heavy and closed almost immediately. Soon after I awoke, almost as depressed as I was everyday I awoke in the city. I never knew why I felt like this. I've rooted it down to several possibilities, but I always felt like one stuck out the most. Whenever I opened my eyes after an uncomfortable sleep in whatever hovel I had chosen to sleep in that night… There was no onepony there to greet me with a smile as I wake, no one to give me warm hug and an affectionate nuzzle and to tell me they were here for me. No one in Manehatten appreciated me, loved me, even cared for me in the slightest. I was scorned out of apartments, bucked out of alleyways and pushed in the streets. ‘I’m alone… and how was moving away going to change that?’ With the thought plastered on my mind, my eyelids slowly fell until all that remained was black, soon to be embraced by sleep and dreams.
I woke up about thirty minutes before we got to Ponyville. I wasn't in my best of moods I never wanted to talk to anyone. I'm glad that nopony could see the cuts I had. The only person that really knew was my friend Camrashy. He was really the only person that knew anything about me. I rarely got to see him though. He was usually to busy at the castle to even talk, but what are going to do.
My dreams were filled with perfections that could only be fathomed in the mind, from an unending summer that was never too hot or unpleasant, to just sharing a bed with some fictional mare I proclaimed as my love. I envisioned this all in that town I was soon going to call my home… and for the first time in awhile… I smiled.
A sudden bump in the tracks awoke me from my slumber, suddenly yanking me from my internal paradise, of course I wasn’t in the best of moods. I could hear the laughter and chatter from other cubicles in the train and I was glad I had a choice to not talk to ponies; I’m bit of a loner. All talking got me was several cuts to my hind legs and hooves, of which I’m glad no one asked about, although some of them weren't obtained in brawls… The only pony that I could call friend was a pony by the name Camrashy. He was probably the only pony in the entire world that knew anything about me and I rarely got to see him. He was usually to busy at the castle at Canterlot to talk, but the occasional visit from him was always welcomed. I also read that Ponyville was quite close to Canterlot, so maybe the visits could be more frequent. Speaking of Ponyville…
"Its about time I got here." I exclaimed quietly as the train made it’s stop, immediately galloping towards one of the train’s exits, my nostrils breathing in a large inhale of that countryside air I’ve only heard about, never experienced for myself.
My brand new home wasn’t too far from the train tracks, towards the outskirts of the town itself. Inside was rather spacious; well, as spacious as someone who lived in a metaphorical box for most of his life. I trotted from room to room, almost in awe at the condition the last owners had left it in; I swore the floorboards were reflecting my very reflection back at me. I felt… overcome. The door that connected to the bedroom had an odd… aura about it. It was also (Aside from the entrance.) the only door that was closed.
I took tentative steps towards the door initially, being wary to not cause a board to creak despite my probable trots that were audible throughout the house at my initial exploration. However, I didn’t know what rest behind the door, and I was not inclined to be surprised by some flank stabber the owners didn’t feel inclined to mention in their letters.
My hoof came to rest upon the knob of the door. I turned it until I heard a click. It opened slightly ajar. I pushed it slightly with my now trembling hoof and I was greeted to… nothing, except the unusual darkness of the room.
"SURPRISE!!!" said everypony.
I was scared half to death by the party she threw there I could have sworn that I was going to have a heart attack. Of course I wasn't happy I didn't really like anypony in the first place. I never did get the pony's name at the party until about five minutes into it because well I stayed in my bedroom until it was over.
"Are you in here." she said
She ended up seeing me in my bed starring out my window.
"Hi my name is Pinkie Pie and I want to introduce you to some of my friends."
"sigh...alright lets go." I said in an upset tone
"Come on turn that frown upside down" Pinkie said
She had a way of cheering anypony up and well I was glad about that. We got to her friends and they were all excited to meet me. One did catch my eye though. When she introduced herself to me she was happy to have another Pegasus around. Her name was Rainbow Dash. I never did believe in love at first sight, but what was I going to do.
"Hey Pinkie, thanks for throwing this party as a welcome to Ponyville I appreciate it. Oh and by the way my name is Deathwing, but you can call me anything I don't really care." I said
"Okiee dokiee"
I sat down on my bed I could sleep or anything I just sat there thinking about Rainbow Dash. Finally about 2 hours later I fell asleep. It was about nine 'o' clock when I woke up. I went outside and, well, I started to find Pinkie and her friends, because there about the only pony's I know here in Ponyville. I did want to go to the castle and see my friend Camrashy. I knew that he was married to Luna. He was also Fluttershy's cousin. I haven't talk to him in about a year now. I figured he was busy so I'd go on a different day. Right now I want to go find Pinkie, and see where Rainbow was I wanted to get to know her better. I ended up in Sugar Cube corner. I found out that its were Pinkie hangs out.
"Hey Pinkie." I heard I familiar voice. My head jumped up I turned around and saw Rainbow Dash.
"Hi Rainbow. Oh hi Deathwing."
"Hey Pinkie. Hey Rainbow." Pinkie knew something was up with me. Yeah I'm usually depressed as it is. Rainbow looked happy to see me of course Pinkie was shes always happy. Rainbow whispered something to Pinkie.
"Hey Deathwing can you help us with a few things?" They had something planed I didn't know what.
"What do you need help with exactly?"
We want to pull some pranks around Ponyville before the days done. So what do say?"
"Um...ok why not."
I was happy that they invited me I haven't done any pranks that much lately and I needed a good laugh anyway.
"We only have one rule and that's to not prank Fluttershy. The only reason why is because shes to sensitive for even our most harmless ones."
"Ok and thanks for inviting me."
"Hey Pinkie can I tell you something? You can't tell anyone ok?" I whispered to Pinkie
"Cross my heart hope to fly stick a cupcake in my eye."
"What?"
"Its a Pinkie Pie promise."
"Ok. Anyway I wanted to say that I like Rainbow Dash, but I don't know if she does or even what she likes besides the Wonderbolts she was talking about all last night at the party."
She though that I liked Rainbow because of how I act around her and well she was right.
"Silly I knew you liked her."
"sigh...just please don't tell her."
I'm starting to wonder if it was a good idea to tell Pinkie.
"Alright you two where here" Rainbow said
"sigh...ok so who are we pranking exactly?" I said
"Twilight silly."
"Wait isn't she an alicorn?"
"Of course silly, but that doesn't matter we always pull pranks on our friends all, but Fluttershy I mean."
"Um...ok"
I didn't really know Twilight, yeah I did want to get to know all of them Pinkie is real easy to get along with. Rainbow Dash is the one I barely know anything about. I just hope that she likes me to, but you'd never know until you slip and they find out or if they do the same thing.
"sigh...whats the plan?" I had to ask.
"The plan is to use you so she will let her guard down." Pinkie said
"Um...ok I guess."
I didn't really know what they where planning, but it didn't really matter I'm just happy to spend time with Rainbow.
"Hey Twilight."
"Oh hey. I didn't get your name before."
"I'm Deathwing. Yeah I know I don't really talk much, but I need somepony to talk to right now. I also hear you live in a Library is that true?"
"Um...ok and yes I do, are you interested in reading some of them?"
"Uh...no not at the moment anyway, but thanks anyway I'll be sure to drop by later though."
"Oh...ok"
After a second or two after saying that Rainbow comes in with a bucket of water and Pinkie has her party cannon. We all ended up laughing in the end. We did about fifteen other pranks before it turned night. When Pinkie went home I wanted to ask Rainbow Dash a few things.
"Hey Rainbow I-I wanted to ask you a few things."
"What is it Deathwing?"
Of course I was to nervous to even say anything to her, I had to force the words out in order to even talk.
"I-I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out again tomorrow? If you've got time the time that is."
My heart started to race I didn't want to slip now I was afraid to all day and right now would be terrible.
"Yeah I got time. Come around Cloudsdale whenever you can."
"Alright see you around Rainbow."
I was happy to be able to hang out with her tomorrow. I just hated the rest of the night. I didn't have anyone to talk to I was alone. Yeah I'm an antisocial I hated the party even though I met Rainbow, but I didn't really ever like party's. I only liked that Pinkie would go though the trouble to make a welcome party. I wanted to stay in my house and be left alone for the rest of my days, but that didn't work out very well.
I started to think about what we could do. It had to be as friends, but there isn't that much to do as friend that I know of in Ponyville. I'll get use to all of this though right now I need to go and see Rainbow. I have been to Cloudsdale before for flight school. I just wanted to get it over with and so I never did know anyone there. I guess I would have known Rainbow Dash if I would have tried to meet people before.
Now I'm starting to wonder if this was a good idea. I keep on having to fight my mind and heart. My mind keeps telling me not to go. My heart tells me not to listen to my mind and always follow your heart. I started to fly to Cloudsdale to go and meet Rainbow there. I started to think out loud. "What if I screw up.." It kept running through me head not to screw up. It was Rainbow Dash I don't know much about her, but as everypony around she likes the wonderbolts. I let out a loud sigh as I arrived at Cloudsdale.
Not even five minutes after I arrived I saw Rainbow Dash. I felt a sudden joy in seeing her. I had to tell myself not to blow this. I went to go talk to her. I nearly collapsed on the floor trying to get to her. She was waiting for me. I didn't know for how long. She noticed me and I tried to hide my smile and act normal.
"Hey Rainbow." I said with hesitation hoping not to say anything that she would find out how I feel about her.
"Hey Deathwing." She said with no intention of hiding a smile.
I nearly dropped to my hoofs when she smiled at me. I kept it cool or at least tried to for the rest of the day.
"What is there to do around here?"
"Not much really we could go to Sugar Cube Corner."
"I was gonna see if you had anything that you wanted to do."
I started to fight with my mind again when I was talking to her.
You don't stand a chance with her just give up now and go home. It won't matter if you do she doesn't care about anypony, but her friends and family.
I let out a slight sigh before she started talking again
"We could go and fly around or take a walk around Ponyville if you want."
"A walk in Ponyville sounds nice."
As we started to fly down to Ponyville I started to fight with my head yet again. I do try and ignore it, but it didn't matter what I did it always got worse.
Just give up go home and continue you life without her. No pony cares about you and they never have. GO HOME!
No I won't let you convince me to give up, not this time. I love her and there is nothing that you can do to stop me.
I let out yet another sigh in relief. I finally was able to stop listening to my mind and just go and take a walk with Rainbow Dash. As we started to land I realized just how quiet Ponyville really was. I don't understand why anypony would want to move from here. Manehatten was never this quiet. There was always something going on, weather it was murder, rape, or something else. I loved it here it was better than what I though it would be.
"You want me to show you around Ponyville or see Ponyville's friend Zicora?"
I did start to wonder who Zecora was I heard her name more than once.
"Um... We can go see Zecora."
"Ok follow me and just so you know she is good with potions and she is also a zebra."
I started shake I never meet a zebra before. We started to walk to the Everfree Forest.
"R-Rainbow what is Zecora like anyway?"
"She just works with potions she comes to Ponyville to get stuff to make them."
"Oh. Did anypony fear her before or do you know?"
"Everypony feared her until Applebloom went to go and talk to her."
We arrived at the Everfree Forest and of course it was what I thought it was.
I wish Zecora didn't live in the Everfree Forest. I've heard that somepony's don't make it back out. I let out a sigh and as we walked in the Everfree Forest thought to myself. Its not as bad as Manehatten. I lost a good friend in Manehatten three years ago. I still have Camrashy at least. I'll go and see him tomorrow if he's not that busy with family or work.
"Hey Rainbow how long does it take for us to get there?"
"Why you scared?"
She let out a laugh and of course it had to make me smile.
"No. I just wanted to know. This is nothing compared to Manehatten."
"Oh. We'll be there in about five minutes."
I gave her a smile to say thanks. I don't know how she took it, but I was trying not to slip, I've been doing good so far. Once again my mind started to argue with me.
Oh good lets screw up now so we can go home. I'm tired of you trying to get to know her.
Why do you want to get rid of the one thing that we are happy about.
"Were here Death."
"Um... ok."
I was nervous I never had meet a zebra before.
"Hello my pony friends, and who is this?"
"Hey Zecora. This is Deathwing. Hes new in Ponyville."
"I see well Deathwing if ever need a potion thing for almost anything."
"Thanks I'll keep that in mind."
For a zebra she was nice. I heard so many negative remarks about zebras, but I guess not all of them are the same way.
Are you crazy! You never talk to a zebra including her.
Shes not evil or what other pony's say about zebras shes not that bad.
"See you around Zecora." Me and Rainbow Dash said at the same time
I let out a sigh as we started to leave Zicora's.
"Whats wrong with you Death?"
I didn't even realize that I had my head down again. My heart dropped. I was afraid that my mind has started to convince me.
"Its nothing sorry for worrying you, but do you think we can head to your house?"
"I don't see why we can't. I have all day."
I though my heart skipped a beat when she said that. I was happier than ever.
"Well lets go."
I said it with hesitation. I was afraid to say anything else. With me screwing up now would be terrible. I wanted to cry, but I tried to pull myself together.
Yes screw up I'm tired of you trying to get to know her.
I wont listen to you if I screw up, I screw up. You don't need to make me.
We got out of the Everfree Forest and started to fly to Rainbow's house. It was quiet for the rest of the way. All I wanted was just that moment to never leave me. The smile on Rainbow's face made me happier than any colt.
It was about mid-day when we arrived at her house. It was the biggest I've seen in Cloudsdale, but then again I've not really been all around Cloudsdale. I didn't really know what to expect inside. I should have known that some of it had to do with the Wonderbolts.
"Um..."
I was to nervous to ask her anything once we got to her house I couldn't explain why though.
"What is Deathwing?"
"Um... I wanted to ask you if you didn't mind if I got to know you a little bit better."
"Not at all as long as I get to know you."
"Ok I see no harm in it."
If she liked me she knew how to hide it real well. We walked to the couch and started talking.
"What did you want to know about me?"
I didn't even know were to begin. I had to think of something quick.
"Um... First I wanted to know what you like."
"Oh. I like the Wonderbolts as you probably know already, my friends, and somepony, but that doesn't really matter right now."
My heart dropped I wanted to know who she was talking about, but I didn't want to rush that.
"What about you Death what do you like about this place so far?"
"What I like. First I like the peace and quiet that this place offers. Second I like how Pinkie would go through the trouble to make me the welcome to Ponyville party. Even when I wanted to be left alone."
"I could tell that you wanted to be left alone I saw you go upstairs."
"Yeah if it wasn't for Pinkie though I wouldn't of meet anypony at the party I would still be in my house right now."
"What made you come out anyways? After the party I mean."
Now my heart dropped completely I didn't wanna tell a lie, but I didn't want to tell the truth either. I didn't know what to do I was scared. All I wanted to do was just run outside and leave. I let out a sigh knowing that I'd have to tell her.
"If you don't wanna tell me its fine."
I gave her a smile in relief. I guess she started to catch on, because she gave me a smile and started to blush. She was cute when she did. I felt better afterwards, but I still didn't feel right.
"So do you want to tell me or no?"
I let out a sigh before I said anything.
"Its not going to be in detail. Fully anyways."
She smiled. I guess it was because she would know, but not fully I did like to keep things a secret or close to it anyways.
"Well at the party as you know I went into my bedroom and hope that the party would blow over. Pinkie came in and asked if I was in there. Of course I answered I just didn't want a party when I got here. I was sad not because I left Manehatten, but for other reasons. I don't know how, but she managed to convince me to come and talk to her friends. As you know I didn't say anything, but one of you, not gonna say who, I fell in love with."
"So you came out to find them and I guess you did?"
"Um... well yes. I have loved her since I moved here and saw her."
Rainbow blushed I guess she knew who I meant.
"So what about you who do like?"
"Oh you really wanna know?"
She smiled bigger than I've seen before.
"Of course I do."
"Its not really important."
You see what I mean she doesn't like you.
I didn't notice the time it was almost midnight and we were still talking.
"Uh... Rainbow I should get going."
She looked sad as soon as I said it.
"Aww. Can you stay here for the night I'm having a great time talking to you."
"I guess I could I ain't got anything to do tomorrow as well so why not."
She was happier than I have ever seen her before. I made me smile as well.
"What did you want to talk about now Rainbow?"
"Actually I wanted to go outside and look at the stars."
"Um... ok."
This was Rainbow it wasn't like her to do something like this. That gave me the hint that she liked me as much as I did, but I just kept that to myself.
"Rainbow its almost midnight you wanna go to bed?"
"Yeah."
"You have a guest room or something?"
"We can just use my bed its big enough."
"Um..."
I started to feel uncomfortable I didn't know her THAT well. We were friends. Why would she want me to sleep in her bed as well?
"Is it a problem?"
I thought to myself for a bit before I said anything.
Now what am I gonna do I could just sleep out here in her living room. I don't wanna make her sad and I don't want to sleep with her.
"I-I don't really know if we should Rainbow I mean come on we barely even know each other we can just sit on the couch and talk some more."
"Uh sure. Sorry I wasn't really thinking."
"Its fine."
We talked to a few more hours about what we like and everything. Its was about two in the morning and we ended up falling asleep on the couch.
As I woke up I noticed that we fell asleep with our heads beside each other. As i got up trying not to wake Rainbow I though to myself. How did she convince me to stay here in the first place. It was eleven in the morning. I went outside for some fresh air. I was out here for about five minutes. As I walked back in I noticed how peaceful Rainbow looked when she was asleep. All I could do is smile. I knew I'd have to leave soon or at least I though I had to. As I was about to leave Rainbow Dash started to wake up. So I decided to stay for a bit longer. Until she wanted me to leave anyway.
"Good morning Rainbow." I said it with a smile on my face.
"I though you'd be gone when I woke up." She said it with a smile. I knew that she was happy that I stayed around until she woke up.
"I'm still here. At least you didn't wake up when I went outside for some fresh air."
She didn't say anything all she could do was smile. It gave me a warm feeling inside. I could stare into her eye's all day, but I wanted to ask her if she wanted to hang out again.
"Rainbow."
"What is Deathwing?"
"Um... I wanted to know if you want to hang out some more? Like how we did yesterday."
"YES... I uh... mean yeah sure."
"Ok. Do you want to go and see my friend Camrashy in Chanterlot?"
"Uh... sure."
I wanted to introduce her to my friend. Plus I told him I would see him today anyways.
"We need to get going if we want to get there I got us train tickets already."
"Can my friends come as well?"
"Sure lets go get them."
I had enough bits to get them all one. Didn't bother me and Fluttershy would be happy to see her cousin again.
"Hey Pinkie." Rainbow Dash said
"Hey Rainbow. Hey Deathwing."
"Uh... Hi Pinkie."
I never really did like over excited pony's.
"Hey Pinkie can you get the other and have them meet me and Deathwing at the train station."
"Sure."
"That was really easy is she always like that."
"Yeah why."
"I never really did like over excited pony's like Pinkie, but she's your friend so I have to get use to it."
"I know what you mean its fine."
"We need to get to the train station and wait for the others." I said
"Yeah lets go."
We trotted to the train station. It was quiet until we reached the train station.
"Pinkie and the others should be here soon." Rainbow said
Sure enough she wasn't kidding they were here in about five seconds after we got there.
"I'll go get the tickets Rainbow."
I walked to the counter and got five other tickets.
"Ok here you all go."
"Uh... Deathwing where are we going? If you don't mind me asking that is."
"We're going to your cousin Camrashy."
Fluttershy quickly gave me a hug.
"Thank you so much for taking me with you."
"Your welcome. I knew you would be happy about it." I whispered in her ear.
"Alright everypony we need to get going." i said
As we got on the train I could only sit there looking at the floor. What I didn't realize is that Rainbow Dash was trying to talk to me until she hit me.
"What do you want Rainbow?"
"I wanted to know whats wrong."
I let out a small sigh and told her.
"As you know I wanted to move to Ponyville for peace and quiet and now there is one pony. Who is here that I like and want to be more than friends with, but I don't think she likes me back."
"What makes you think that?"
"Don't worry about it. Please. One question though does Fluttershy usually do that?"
"No not really it could be because she can see her cousin again. I'm not really sure."
I started to look at the floor again wondering what I've tried to do in my life. I lost to many friends in Manehatten. I wish I could have saved them.
"What was I going to do?"
I didn't realize I said it out loud because when I looked up I noticed everypony looking at me with a confused look. Pinkie Pie tried to make me smile again like at the party, but truly I couldn't smile that day. All I could think about is the friends that I have lost over the years. They didn't live in Manehatten like I have they don't know about all the crime that is there. I've witnessed some of it. Meaning that I saw my friends get shot or stabbed right in front of me and there was nothing that I could have done. I was starting to have flashbacks from watching my closest friend die. The last thing I remember was watching her fear from him. I lost it as I saw her die. I threw him to the wall and nearly killed him. It took the rest of my friends to get me off of him. The last thing I saw from him was fear. I told him this. Never mess with my friends again. You do and I'll make you part of this concrete.
I hit the train wall in anger I ended up putting a dent in the wall. I looked up and they were all in shock. I looked at my hoof and I saw blood I felt no pain though. I walked the the back of the train, because I didn't want them to be afraid of me. As I got away from everypony I sat there and cried wishing that my friends were still here with me.
Soon after I started to feel the vibrations and the body heat from Twilight and Rainbow Dash. I guess they thought that they where quiet enough to scare me. As they walked up to me I started to turn around.
"What do you two want?"
"We wanted to see if you were ok. I mean you put a dent in the train." Rainbow said
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Or at least I should be." I said under my breath.
"Are you sure." They both said.
It gave me a smile to see how much they cared about me.
"Wait you all ain't scared of me?"
"Why would we be?" Twilight said.
"I put a dent in the train. I felt no pain and usually when other pony's see me do something like that they back away from me."
"Death I have one question for you." Rainbow said.
"What is it Rainbow?"
"What made you hit the wall of the train and why did you say what was I going to do"
I let out a sigh and calmly told them (or at least tried to).
"My closest friend I lost. The pony that killed her I nearly killed. The last thing I saw in my friends eyes was fear. She knew I wouldn't let it slide. Everypony around knew not to hurt my friends. As he walk away I grabbed him and threw him against the the wall of our mall. It took the rest of my friends to get me off of him I told him after they got me off of him that if he ever hurt one of my friends again I'd make him part of the road. That's why I said it and hit the wall of the train."
I started to burst into tears from the sight of my friends eyes that have haunted me now. They where the only pony's that I had trust to tell them anything. Twilight and Rainbow Dash tried to comfort me because of it.
"Hey if it makes you feel any better we will all be here for you." They both said
I gave them both a hug and said thank you. All three of us walk back to the others. Twilight and Rainbow were the first ever pony's that I have ever told that to. In Ponyville that is. Everypony knew about it in Manehatten. I'm happy to have understanding friends here like I had in Manehatten. As I sat back down I looked at my hoof and it seemed that the bleeding had stopped. I knew that Camrashy would know what happened.
"Are ya ok sugarcube?" Applejack said.
That was something I wasn't use to. I didn't know if she was talking to me or somepony else.
"Hes fine Applejack." Rainbow said
"Oh my bad Applejack I didn't realize you where talking to me. Sorry."
I guess me taking to Camrashy started to make me act like that sometimes, but then again I was like this before I knew him. I'd isolate myself from other pony's. Why I did this was because I hated to hurt others, but if I saw somepony getting hurt I'd drag the pony that hurt them and throw them to a wall and beat them to a pulse. It's how I found my friends. I had a reputation at school that was when you mess with me or somepony else I beat you and help them. I cared about others I became protective to my friends. I cut myself then and now have scars to prove it if others ever wanted me to that is.
"Um... Deathwing uh... if you don't mind me asking, but why did you hit the train wall?" Fluttershy said
"Come here and I'll tell you."
We walk away to the others to tell her because I don't want others to spread the word.
"Ok why I did was because I lost my closest friend to somepony that I guess now regrets ever doing what he did."
"What did he do?"
"He. He killed her I don't want to say her name sorry about that, but the last thing I remember from her eyes was fear. She knew I wouldn't let it slide. I grabbed him and threw him against the wall of our mall. It took all my other friends to get me off of him. After they did I told him if he did it again I'd make him part of the road."
Fluttershy was shocked. I don't think she knew I would ever do something like that.
"Fluttershy if you want to leave go ahead I don't care."
I saw the same fear in her eyes as my friend. I didn't know what to say. All I could do was sit there and look in her eyes. We were in there for so long the others came in to see what happened. They didn't know what happened I guess Twilight and Rainbow Dash understood though. I finally was able to look away and I sat there and cried. Only three of them knew why I was the others were confused.
"You ok Fluttershy?" Rarity said.
"Y-yeah. Deathwing is the one that isn't."
Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight tried to give me comfort while I was sitting there. For they were the only three that knew about what happened to me.
Finally I was able to pick myself back up. Still with tears running down.
"You ok Deathwing?" All three queried
"Yeah for now. Sorry you had to see me like that."
We got up and walked back to the cart where everypony else was. Hoping they don't ask me why I broke down like that. We are about thirty minutes out from Canterlot. I was happy I would get to see my good friend Camrashy. Me and him have been best friends since flight camp. Nicest guy I meet there and the shyest.
The train comes to a loud stop. I was back in the capital of Equestria yet again.
"Okay all of us can go to the castle now or walk around a bit." Twilight suggested.
"Um... Twilight I came here to see my friend Camrashy I'll be at the castle." I commented
"Um... Mind if I come with you Deathwing?" Fluttershy requested.
"I see no harm in it Fluttershy." I answered.
She let out a smile and came with me. As we walk up to the castle doors we were stopped by two guards outside.
"Hault! What is your purpose here?" The guards ordered.
"We're here to see Camrashy." I stated.
"Oh Deathwing. Come right on in. She with you?"
"Yeah."
As me and Fluttershy walked in I noticed Luna and Camrashy and walked up to them.
"Hey Death hows life been for you?" Camrashy said.
"Its been good. Finally found a mare I like. Shes not here but I did bring your cousin Fluttershy here. What about you two?"
"Its been okay." They both responded.
Fluttershy quickly hug Camrashy. Happy to see the one cousin that didn't treat her like trash. He was the main pony that treated her like she meant something.
"Its been what a year now since we talked Death." Luna said. It was nice to talk to people who were like family to me. Treated me like it too.
"It has." I said letting out a smile.
"So whose the mare that you like anyway?" Camrashy said.
"Its not that important is it?" I said and started to look behind me noticing the others walking in. And smiled one I saw Rainbow Dash.
"It isn't I just want to know." Camrashy said noticing the others.
"What isn't important?" Rainbow Dash said looking confused.
"I-its nothing." I chuckled nervously. Something about being around Dash makes me nervous. Like I'm gonna slip and screw up and her find out that I like her.
"You sure?" Dash asked.
"Yeah. Just about somepony I like. That's really it." I said hoping she wouldn't ask who.
"This I want to know." Rarity squealed with excitement. I just out a sigh.
"Some other time. I don't really want to say here." I muttered.
"Okay. Later today maybe?" Rarity pried
I looked down and said under my breath. "Its something I don't want to really talk about."
"What was that?" Rarity asked.
"N-nothing." I sighed starting to look a bit depressed. Hoping that she'll just leave e alone. I knew that once I told her it'd start up a lot of drama. And that's something I want to avoid. Drama isn't a thing I like anyway if it starts up with anything I will most likely walk away from it. It's just something I can't stand.
"Am I making you upset asking? If I am I can just leave it be." Rarity said. I was relived that she would just let it go.
"Hey Cam my stuff still here in the castle? From the room you let me use while I was here." I spoke.
"Yeah. Same room and same as you left it. And just asking. How many knifes do you collect?" Camrashy asked.
"That's why I was asking I was gonna move 'em to my house in Ponyville." I replied.
"When did you move to Ponyville?" Luna asked.
"About a day ago. Glad I made the money to be able to." I said. I started to have a smile on my face thinking about how life's been going after I moved to Ponyville.
"You still having toughs nightmares?" Camrashy and Luna asked.
"Yeah. Its gotten worse but I'm slowly getting over 'em. The screams still haunt me but I'm fine." I said.
"Least there getting better." Luna said looking a bit depressed.
"Hey Luna whens game night gonna happen again? I asked hoping to be able t change the subject.
"It's in about a day or two. Why you up for a challenge again?" She asked with a smirk on her face.
"Yeah. Just haven't had the time to come down and play." I said.
"We can right now. Just for old times sake." She said still smiling.
"Oh your on." I said with a smile.
"Anypony else want to join in?" Me and Luna asked.
"Why not. Already here and never went up against Luna." Dash said.
"I guess I will." Camrashy said. The rest shook their head and walk around the castle.
Guess its just us then. Me and Cam against you and Dash?" Luna said.
"Sure." We three replied. I tried to hide a smile. We all walked into Luna and Camrashy's room and as we did I noticed my room and a few knifes on the floor. I said to myself "Damn it again? Who keeps going though all of my knifes when I'm away?" Dash notices my room and stops to look at it. As she does I stop with her to pick up the knifes that feel.
"All of these yours?" She looked at them in amazement.
"Every last one of 'em. Been collecting 'em since I was just a colt." I said in annoyance.
"Am I aggravating you or something?" She said looking tad depressed.
"Not at all just every time I come here a few of 'em are on the floor or the bed is all" As I say it I grab one and throw it at the target on the wall. She looked at it in amazement. Guess shes never seen anypony able to throw a knife perfectly to a target and hit the bulls eye.
"What never seen somepony throw a knife or something? Its the one thing Luna can never beat me at even with magic." I said smiling. She was speechless. I handed her a knife.
"Want to try and throw one?" I asked her. She shook her head no. And as she did I threw it at the sane target. As I did I walked over and pulled them out and began sharpening them.
"Want one?" I asked.
"No thanks. I got plenty of my own stuff." She said.
"Alright." I said and continued to sharpen them. As I finished I got up and walked to Luna and Cam's room.
"Death could I ask you something?" Dash said a bit upset. It killed me to think she was.
"Go ahead." I said
"Who is the mare you like?: My heart dropped. I didn't want to lie to her and I don't want to ignore her and make her think that I hate her or anything. She noticed that something was wrong when she asked me. She hugged me it was enough to say that I didn't have to tell her. It was also the most passionate one I ever got from a pony. After all I never did know my parents.
"If you wish you could tell me another day." She said looking happier than I've seen her before. It brought a smirk to my face. It was hard to make a pony like me happy, but something like this. It was great. I wanted to hide it that I liked her. I feel like she never could like somepony like me, but what am I gonna do? Find a way to make her like me? That's not something I'd do never would either. If she doesn't then okay. I'll have to move on. Wait what am I saying? Its not like me to think like this. What am I doing? I let out a small sigh hoping she wouldn't hear it. Thank celestia she didn't.
"Hey Dash. Um... Later you want to go somewhere?" I asked.
"What do you have in mind?" My heart started to race. I didn't want to screw up.
"Any where you want." I said.
"Hmm. That's new most colts that ask me out or just hang out want to go somewhere they want." She said. I smiled after she said it. After all I know its not important where I go and hang out with others. Normally to me its where they want to go. I don't make others go to place I want to unless they want me to chose. Its just me.
"Wait Death are you asking me out?" She said with curiosity.
"What? No. Just friends. I barely even know you Dash." I was right I barely knew about her. I wanted to know more about her before I tried anything.
"Okay. Well we could watch a movie or something later." The sadness in her voice said it all. I kept it down. Killed me on the inside to hide something to her. I knew it was for the best for now. Until its time to actually ask her.
"That's fine. Like I said Dash its up to you." I was starting to slip up. I tried to keep my cool. Deep breaths Death. She wont realize if you keep your cool. Just try and calm down before you say anything again. It'd be terrible to screw up now. You've done good so far. Don't let it get to you now.
