Meet the T.L.C. Trio
"Hey y'all! Sorry i'm late, extra chores."
A trotting filly rolled her eyes as she came to a stop in front of her 2 friends. Lavender Pines Fields, (Lav for short) was an earth pony who loved working in the family farm, Lavender Fields, (named after the pony herself). She had a light lavender purple coat and a light cyan mane and tail. Her mane was in a messy braid and her cutie mark, a light purple heart with a patch on it, practically glowing from sweat.
"Oh it's okay Lav, me and TF were just wondering where you were!"
A filly piped up as she walked next to Lavender and jumped in place. Cloudy Skies was a Pegasus pony who loved the clouds and ached to be up there with them, but her wings were still too brittle and weak, so she became jump rope champ instead. She had a light light blue coat and blue, sky streaked mane and tail. Her hair was down, as usual, and her cutie mark, a marble white cloud, shining from the heat.
"Yea, so you could buy us some milkshakes!"
The third filly laughed as she, too, walked next to Lavender. Tootsie Flute, (TF for short) was a unicorn pony who loved learning and all things smart which meant her idle was Princess Twilight Sparkle, the princess of who loves books. She had a violet mane and tail and cyan coat. Her hair was messy and coat was stubble because 'I don't care about my appearance! I just want to read!' Her cutie mark, a pink flower, not so shiny.
"Ha-ha nice try TF, its your turn to pay!"
"Darn it! I almost got away with it!” TF said as Lav and Cloudy laughed.
They all walked down the street toward Sugar Cube Corner. The 3 girls had first met a year ago, when Lav had first moved into Ponyville. All of Lav’s sisters and brothers all fit in but she was teased for being a “blank flank”. But that was before TF and Cloudy . The fillies stood up for Lavender and became the best friends, as fellow blanks. They called themselves the T.L.C Trio. Once The 3 got her cutie mark, no one ever teased anyone again.
“Hey Pinkie!” The 3 fillies happily said.
“Hi TLC! What can I get you? Ice cream sundae? Cupcake?!” Pinkie drooled as the thought of sweets entered her mind.
“Um I think i’ll get a strawberry milkshake!” TF declared.
“Uhh I’ll have the vanilla milkshake!” Lavender said.
“OH! CHOCOLATE FOR MEEE!” Cloudy nearly yelled, bouncing in her spot.
“Okie Dokie Lokie! Coming right up!” Pinkie said as she trotted into the kitchen.
“So, Lavender” Cloudy nudged Lav, “Somepony’s birthday is coming tomorrow!”
“Mhm! I cannot WAIT ‘till my birthday! I mean 12? Thats awesome!” Lavender smiled and crossed her arms.
“Oh my CELESTIA!” TF exclaimed as she gawked and her mouth curled up into smug smile.
“WHAT?!” Cloudy and Lavender stop their conversation to stare at TF.
“There's Blue Waters Lav!!” TF said in a sappy voice.
Lavender blushed as her friends giggled.
“H-hey! How did you know?”
“Oh isn’t it obvious? The blushing, giggling, it has to be a crush!”
“...Well even if I did like Blue, you can't go teasing me about it!”
“...Fine” TF and Cloudy sighed.
“Good.” Lavender glanced her crush.
Just then Blue got up from his table on the other side of Sugarcube Corner and left his posse to walk over to the TLC’s table. Lavender started taking shorter, sharper breaths with each step Blue took closer to her. When Blue was finally there, Lavender felt like fainting.
“Uh hey Cloudy, TF and….Lavender.”
“S-sup BW.” Lavender stammered as her friends nodded at him.
“...Yea. So um can I talk to you Lavender….alone?” Blue said.
The other fillies raced out giggling while Blue sat in a chair.
“So um,..Lavender, I….I really don’t know how to put this but,..I like you and I was wondering if-” Blue was cut off by a songy voice.
“And here you are! 3 fresh creamy milky milkshake- wait wheres Tootsie and Cloudy? And why is Blue here?” Pinkie said as she set the milkshakes on the table.
“Uh I ,..I hafta go. B-bye!” Blue ran off
“WAIT! BLUE!” Lav cried out as she watched him hide his face and then she hid her face in her arms.
He was totally gonna ask me out! Oh my Celestia, if it weren't for Pinkie, Blue Waters would be my coltfriend! Lavender thought as she felt like sobbing, but she knew thats not what 12 year olds would do, so she just grinded her teeth and pressed up against the table.
“Heyyy Lavender!” TF and Cloudy took their seats and picked up their milkshake.
“So, how’d it go?”
“Terrible!” Lavender managed to say.
“Oh,...” Cloudy and TF shared a look, “er- We thought he would ask you out!”
“Actually, he did.” Lavender pouted.
“W-WHAT?! YOU SAID NO!?” The unicorn and pegasuses mouths dropped.
“NO! I mean...he really didn't get to finish because ...Pinkie Pie barged in. In a good way...with milkshakes.”
“Oh,...but after this-” TF was cut off by a shrill squeal.
“Oh my Celestia!! Lavender has a special somepony just waiting for her! AFTER WE ARE DONE WITH THESE DELICIOUS SHAKES, YOU WILL GET BLUE AS YOUR COLTFRIEND!” Cloudy declared, actually looking angry.
“Y-okay…..” TF replied, slightly scared.
So the 3 fillies sipper their milkshakes (which, were in fact yummy) in an awkward silence.
"Okay now since we're done, lets find Blue!" Cloudy said as she zoomed out of Sugar Cube Corner.
"Wait for us!" TF and Lav cried as they galloped behind the pegasus.
"Andddd, I don't see him anywhere!" Cloudy and TF said as a dejected Lav sat on the sidewalk.
"It's ok girls. I appreciate you trying to help but right now I need to be alone..." Lav said as she trudged towards the farm.
But when she arrived, she felt a sharp tap on her shoulder and turned around.
"T-this can't be happening!" Lav gasped.
