I'm so very tired. I've survived this long, and for what? We worked so hard to bring things back to the way they used to be. The way they're supposed to be. Why weren't you there for us when we needed you most?" I stopped in my tracks and squinted my eyes to protect them from the dust I had kicked up. "Is there something about the old world that you didn't like princess?!" I looked to the sky and shouted vainly. There's nopony around. Nobody who'd listen to my words of despair and anguish. "Everypony in Equestria looked up to you and respected you. But now, even thinking your name makes my blood boil." I know I shouldn't be shouting, but I can't stop myself now that I've started. Once the wheels of fate begin to turn, there's no stopping it. That's always been something I've struggled to accept. "Perhaps alicorns are not almighty beings after all?! If you're as powerful as ponies perceive you to be. Why didn't you do anything to stop this from happening?!" There's no way she's listening. I bet thousands of ponies have already done the same thing I'm doing right now and she probably ignored their cries as well. "The amount of lives lost due to your inability to take charge is an unforgivable atrocity." I stared up at the grey clouds, again, vainly awaiting the response of our beloved princess Celestia. I spat on the ground as I recalled her name. A creature that would let this much death happen does not deserve the respect from anyone. "In the beginning, we saw your lack of support as some sort of test. That you wanted to test us as your loyal subjects." I strongly believed in that at one point. I always thought that somepony like the princesses were watching over me and the ones I cared about. It turns out I was wrong my entire life and my ignorance cost me everything. "When we realized that you were obviously not interested in saving us, ponies decided to stand up and fight back. They did what you were supposed to do!" I furiously stomped my hooves into the dirt, "Those same ponies began to rebuild what was left of our world. For years, we suffered. For years, each day was a coin toss of life and death and even more ponies died doing what you wouldn't." I began grinding my teeth, "They gave their lives to protect others so that they could continue living!" Morning Ray, Shoe Lacer, Terra Cotta, I hope you're paying attention because I'm about to stand up for all of you! "When we finally thought we had scrapped together what was left of Equestria, ponies became hopeful. That maybe you hadn't completely forsaken us. I didn't believe for one second that you would let something like this happen in the first place. Just when they thought you finally had our backs, you went and put a knife in it!" "Why would you let Equestria burn?!" I screamed, "After all the work that went into creating this land, you decided to throw it all away! You weren't even satisfied with that were you? When we decided to build a civilization of our own, you had to crush whatever hope we had!" I took a few deep breaths and turned back to the smoldering ruins of Ponyville, a place I called home. In another lifetime, that town was full of life. Friendships were made to last forever in Ponyville. Parties were a regular occurrence, but each one was special. Come fall, ponies would line up for miles just for a cup of apple cider. There was always something going on that made everyone's life exciting, but no more. "What about Princess Twilight? Your most prized student? She was a resident of Ponyville! Do you not care for what became of her?" Just after I finished my sentence, a loud thunderclap shook the earth around me, "Oh, did I touch a nerve? Well, now that I've got your attention, what if you lost two Twilight Sparkle's? Or three? Or ten? Fifty? One hundred? One thousand?" I lowered my head and grinned slightly. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but I like to think that thunderclap was a sign that she was listening, "That's the amount of pain that your kingdom has suffered. Not to mention that the princess also lost her five closest friends as well!" At this point, I stopped caring and let my voice roar into the sky without restraint. I wanted to hit Celestia where it hurt. I want to cause her as much grief as I can to make up for all she's done. For what she did to my brother, my sister, my wife, and my daughter, I want her to feel some form of pain! "To the ponies still alive in the world you have forsaken, you are no longer the princess of the sun to us. You're the princess of suffering. You did nothing to stop the apocalypse. You watched everypony die!" Tears began freely flowing from my eyes. Despite my anger, I was devastated by the reality of the situation. Celestia doesn't care about us, my family and friends are gone along with almost everypony in Equestria, and I'm tired. I'm tired of being sad and angry. I'm tired of running. What do I have to run to? What do I have left in my life that makes it worth living another day in this land of death? As far as I can tell, there's nothing and I might as well leave this place and go to one with someone to watch over us.
