I mean, can you just imagine wanting to learn knowledge that was just lost for over a thousand years?” “Of course Twilight, but not all in one day, maybe you should take a break from reading.” Twilight was surprised to hear what her friend had just said. “What do mean take a break from reading, Rarity?” she asked her with a confused look on her face, “I take breaks from my reading.” “Apparently not enough breaks,” Rarity muttered to herself. “What was that Rarity?” “Nothing,” Rarity said to Twilight, with a sheepish grin on her face. Twilight then looked at her books then she looked at some little fillies playing a game of catch together before she said with a sigh, “Maybe you’re right Rarity, maybe I do need a break from all this reading, perhaps I should go to the beach, and relax.” “That sounds like a great idea darling,” Rarity agreed with a nod, “I hear the beach is perfect this time of year.” “I guess I’ll see you later then Rarity,” Twilight said using her magic to hold on to her books and as she walked back to her library. “See you later Twilight,” Rarity said to Twilight as she was waving goodbye to her best friend. A few minutes later... Spike was getting everything ready for Twilight’s trip to the beach when Twilight came up to her and asked him, “Spike can you watch over the library while I’m gone?” “Sure Twilight,” Spike nodded, “I can do that for you.” “Thank you Spike, I’ll see you later,” Twilight said as she grabbed her bags and flew out the door. “See ya’ Twilight,” Spike said waving goodbye to her, “Have fun at the beach.” As Twilight was flying towards the beach, she noticed that something was glowing brightly, and it was headed straight for her. The light began to blind her to the point where she couldn't see where she was going and forced her to crash to wherever ground there was. When the blinding light was gone, she opened her eyes and the first thing that she noticed that she had hands meaning was a human again, but she also noticed that the clothes she wore were not the same as the ones she wore back in the human world she knew. Her clothes were more on the lines of what colonial Equestrians would have wore back in the eighteenth century. “I must be in a different timeline in the human world then,” Twilight said to herself as she soon noticed a ship that wasn't too big and too small and was flying a black flag with a skull, two crossed swords, and a strange symbol over the skull itself. She could also hear the whole crew of the strange ship singing a song that she'd never heard before. And without thinking twice, she started to wave her arms frantically as she tried to call out to the crew of the ship yelling, “Hey, hey, hey, over here… I need some help!” Hoping that it would get their attention for sure. But for a second, she thought that didn't hear her so she tried again. “Hey, hey… Over here… Can you hear me… I need some help over here!!!” She thought none of the crew heard her. Suddenly, one of the crew members dived into the water and started swimming towards her. Twilight couldn't tell who he was, but she had a feeling he was someone very important on that ship. And she was about to find out why. To be continued... > Chapter 2: A Jackdaw's New Voyage > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2: A Jackdaw's New Voyage (written by yours truly) Far far away into the west, their sailed a single ship in the deep blue sea. She was going nowhere in particular, just to soak in the feel of the waves on this peaceful trip. However this was no ordinary ship, this was one of the most feared vessels to ever sail the West-Indies. Lead by a renown captain, any who gazed upon the flag of the ship would be sent to their watery graves. That was why Edward Kenway was grateful that today was relatively quiet. All those years of pillaging, plundering, and searching for “The Big Score” had made Edward want to slow down. He had a daughter to take care of now, so he made a promise to himself that he would be the greatest father to his child. He currently was sailing with his daughter, named Jennifer Kenway Smith, down to London to start anew with their lives as a family. Although he wished he could say goodbye to his wife one last time, Edward continued on with his life, never stopping to rethink the past. As the Kenway duo sailed onward, little Jenny spoke with her new-found dad. “Father...did you always know how to sail a boat,” she said. “The Jackdaw is a Ship, Jenny,” he replied. “Not a boat” “But did you always know?” The captain to a moment to think of a good answer until he said, “No. No, I learned after leaving Bristol.” “After you left Mother?” “Well I didn't leave you're,” he paused. Caroline must have told Jenny what had happened. “I didn't leave without saying goodbye, that is. It was an Arrangement, you see? Between your Mother and me.” “She said you left her,” Jenny began with a know-it-all tone in her voice. “She said you always talked about sailing a Boat and making Money in the New World.” “I did always want to Sail a Ship, that's true,” he replied. “But not for a Lark. To support us. To take care of her...and you.” “Not me. Mother said you didn't know about me. She said you only wrote once a year, and that she never knew where to find you.” Edward’s heart dropped after hearing that. “That’s all true. And I’m sorry for that,” he apologized. “If I had known earlier...I don’t know. I might have come Home. I hope that I would have.” She paused for only a minute or two, then said, “Well...you were busy. That’s what I think.” “I was. But...that wouldn't have mattered.” Jenny stood up from the keg she was sitting on and started walking toward the left side of Edward. Then she asked, “Can I steer your Boat?” “Boat? I see no Boat here. Do you?” She groaned, “Ugh, I mean Ship obviously. I don’t see the difference anyway.” “Ah! It’s a very simple one, Jenny,” He replied. “A ship can carry a Boat, but a Boat cannot carry a Ship.” “Why, then everything is a Ship, large and small, but for my Toy Boat. The one I take in the bath with me.” He chuckled after hearing her version of the saying. “That’s a clever way of seeing it.” They continued on in silence, but there was one last thing Edward wanted to get off his chest. “Is it hard to talk about Caroline, Jenny? About your Mother?” “Hmm...no. She passed some years ago. I miss her, but its all right.” “...Was she in pain?” “I don’t know,” she admitted. “I don’t think so. She was very happy for quite some time. Then not so happy. I didn't see her much after that. Then she was gone.” The Pirate Assassin didn't know what to say after he heard Jenny say that. “I...I’m sorry. I’m sorry I wasn't there for you,” he said. “It’s all right. You’re here now. And we’re on an Adventure!” “Only a little one, I hope. I couldn't handle too many more surprises.” “Do you think we’ll see a whale?” “Yes. There’s a very good chance.” “Hm. And what about Pirates? Will I see Pirates?” “No,” Edward lied about that one. He didn't want her to find out he became a Pirate during his time in the New World. “There’s not much chance of that, I think.” “Oh. That’s rather sad,” she replied rather glumly. “I should have liked to see one.” Then Edward got an idea to get his daughter’s spirits up. “Tell you what, Jenny,” he began. "As soon as the winds die a little, I’ll let you steer the Jackdaw. One little trick at the Helm before Sundown.” “Yay,” she squealed. Edward just gave her a chuckle as the continued the sea. Suddenly there was a great thunderous boom towards the starboard side of the Jackdaw. “Hurricane a commin’,” said a member of the crew. “Stand fast! Secure the rigging!” “Jenny go inside,” Edward commanded. He couldn’t lose his daughter after he just met her. Not here, not now. “When this is over I’ll get you!” She got the message and made her way to the Captain's Cabin. Meanwhile, back on the deck everything was chaos. Crew members struggling to steady the ship left and right, while Edward tried to steady the ship in the harsh winds. No water twisters had shown up yet, that was the last thing they needed. All of a sudden, a glowing golden twister appeared right in front of the Jackdaw. Having no time to prepare the ship was swallowed up by the tornado. However, instead of ripping the ship to splinters, the twister started lifting the ship towards the sky. The light started getting brighter to the point where everyone had to shield their eyes. And then, everything went quiet. ----------------------------------------------------- The crew opened their eyes to an interesting site. A continent of some kind was a few miles away from where they currently dropped anchor. They rejoiced when they realized that after weeks of sailing, they would soon find rest and relaxation on the nearby landmass. Edward was different with his enthusiasm. He examined the shore of land from his spyglass, and found that he didn't recognize a single thing. This wasn't London. Maybe they were blow off course and ended up in no-man’s land. Or there was something more about the twister that the Assassin was unaware of. Whatever it was, now was not the time to dwell on that subject. For now, there was a new land out there, waiting to be explored. With that settled, he put away his spyglass, retrieved Jenny from the Cabin, and made to set sail to the new land. “Lets move lads,” the Captain shouted. “Every scrap of deck on the wind.” The Jackdaw began to move at it fastest speed toward the shore. Just as they were getting closer Edward thought now would be a good time to celebrate with a shanty. "Give us a song lads." (feel free to sing along with the lyrics provided) The crew happily sung one of their favorite shanties, The Coasts of High Barbary, out into the brisk salty air. As they got closer to the Mainland, Edward spotted a small island nearby. Turning the ship abroad, he steered the ship towards the small landmass, wondering if there were supplies or good ole treasure to collect. He spotted someone waving their arms around and shouting at the top of their lungs for help on the desolate island. Not wanting to appear heartless to his daughter, he called for the Jackdaw to make a full stop. With that taken care of, he dived into the water and swam towards the straggler. Upon surfacing, he realized two things. One was that the marooned person was a woman. And the other was that she wasn’t your normal damsel in distress. She had slightly pale skin, beautiful violet eyes, and a strange hair color of purple with a pink streak down towards the middle of her hair. “Are you alright lass,” he said to the mysterious woman. At first she didn’t reply, sticking only to observing what Edward would do next. Until at last she spoke, “Th-thank you for coming to rescue me. But, who are you?” “My name is Edward Kenway lass,” he replied. “I think it’s time you got off this rock, miss-” “Oh,” she gasped suddenly. “Sorry about that. Forgot to give you my name, after you *ahem. My-my name is Twilight Sparkle.” To be continued... > Chapter 3: Explanations and Memories > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: Explanations and Memories (written by chrisharte97 and edited by yours truly) “It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Sparkle,” the former Pirate Assassin said as he held out his hand and Twilight took his hand. “Can you swim,” he asked. “Yes, I can swim,” Twilight replied to him. “Why do you ask?” “Because we’re going to have to swim back to my ship over there,” Edward said to her as he pointed out to the Jackdaw. “Now come, this rock isn’t a place for a lovely lass like you.” Twilight just blushed at what Edward called her as she followed Edward and swam towards the Jackdaw. When they made it to the Jackdaw, Edward said to Twilight, “After you Miss Sparkle.” So she did what she was asked, and climbed up the ladder with Edward following her. “Welcome, Miss Sparkle to my ship the Jackdaw,” the former Pirate Assassin said to the purple haired woman. “You named your ship after a bird,” Twilight exclaimed. “Of course Miss Sparkle-” “Please, Mister Kenway, just call me Twilight.” “Of course Twilight,” Edward said as Jenny came up to her father. “Twilight, I would like you to meet my daughter Jennifer.” “Hello, Miss Sparkle,” Jenny greeted Twilight. “It a pleasure to meet you.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you too Jennifer,” Twilight said shaking Jenny’s hand. “Anyways, we were just sailing off to London to start a new life there. But since we don’t know where we are after a storm blew us off course, I thought that you could guide us to the nearest port,” Edward said to Twilight, who looked at the Captain of the Jackdaw with a confused look on her face as Edward asked her kindly. “Do you might know where a port could be so that we could make repairs to the Jackdaw?” “I’m sorry Mister Kenway, I don’t know where a port could be out here,” Twilight replied shaking her head in depression. “But maybe we can trace your steps on which port you were last in, that way we can hopefully make repairs to your ship here.” “Well we just set out from Great Inagua just about two days ago,” Jennifer said. “And we appeared just that way,” she pointed to the direction that they were sailing from before they found Twilight. “So if we head in that direction…” Twilight started. “...We can find a port to dock in and make repairs to the Jackdaw,” Edward cut in. “Twilight you are as smart as you are beautiful,” he said as he took Twilight’s hand and kissed it. Twilight blushed to the sudden manner of the Captain of the Jackdaw as she took her hand back and said to him, “Oh well, thank you for the compliment Edward.” “You can stay in my cabin until we can find land,” Edward said as he called out to the crew, “Release the sails, we’re heading back to Great Inagua!” The crew did as their Captain ordered and released the sails. Twilight walked inside Edward’s cabin to see that he had a collection of different outfits, a number of swords, and she also saw some strange wooden objects with some metal parts on them. She knew that they had to be weapons of some sort because there was a hole in one of the metal parts of these objects. Plus there were little metal balls inside the cases of the objects. But then she remembered the flag that the Jackdaw was flying before and she soon had a feeling that Edward used these objects once before. “What are these things,” she asked out loud as she grabbed one of the objects to have a better look at it. “They’re called pistols,” a familiar voice said to her as Twilight turned around to see that Edward was standing at one of the doorways. “Edward, what are you doing here,” Twilight asked in surprise as she quickly puts the object back in it’s case. “I came here to check my maps to help us on our way back to Great Inagua,” Edward replied to her. “You never seen or heard of a pistol before, have you?” Twilight shook her head in response, “No I haven’t. Where I live, these kind of things have never been heard of before. The Royal Guards only have swords, spears, and shields.” “Where do you come from exactly?” “I come from the magical land of Equestria, but I’m also not human either, in my world I’m suppose to be an Alicorn Princess which is a type of pony.” “So you come from a land of ponies,” Edward said. “What other types of ponies are there besides Alicorns?” “There are Unicorns which I used to be,” Twilight explained to Edward. “There are Pegasi and then there are Earth ponies.” “Equestria seems like a diverse kingdom to rule,” Edward stated. “Well, I don’t rule Equestria alone.” “There are more Princesses than just you?” “Yes there are,” Twilight said. “There is Princess Celestia, who controls my world’s sun, and was my mentor in magic. And there’s her younger sister, Princess Luna, who controls my world’s moon.” Edward seemed a little surprised, but probably expected less from from a lass like Twilight. “Well I’m sure that you will be fine here until you can get back to your land of Equestria.” “Thank you Edward,” Twilight thanked him, but as Edward was going to sit down to look at his maps, Twilight stopped him. “Before you do that Edward, I would like to know about that flag that you’re flying on the Jackdaw.” “Well, I used to be a Pirate and an Assassin,” Edward started to explain to Twilight. “I captured Spanish Galleons and other ships with some old friends of mine, but I was also killing Templars so I could help protect humanity’s free will.” Twilight backed away slightly thinking that Edward was going to kill her before Edward continued. “But the British and Templars attacked in full force and they killed my fellow Pirates and most of my Assassin brothers and sisters.” “I’m sorry to hear that Edward,” Twilight said feeling a little bit calm now and now felt sorry for Edward’s loss of his Assassin brothers and sisters. “It quite alright Twilight,” Edward said as he sat down on his desk looking at his maps to see where they should be going. “But anyways, lets get to work on getting ourselves to Great Inagua so that we can get the Jackdaw repaired." "Yes of course," Twilight said as they began to look at the maps. "It appears that if we keep heading south west, we might be able to reach Great Inagua within two or three days." "Hmm..." Twilight pondered as she looked at the map with Edward. "It does sound like a good plan." "It should work," Edward said to Twilight, as he began mapping out a route to the hideout. "Tell me about one of your friends," Twilight said. "It looks like you need to talk about one of them." Edward sighed, "One of them, his name was Ed Thatch, but others called him Blackbeard," he said feeling a pain in his chest. “He and I were privateers together after a war’s end, we reunited back in a place called Nassau.” He remembered those days like they happened yesterday. Flashback to Nassau, several years ago… Edward and Adewale walked up the stairs to meet up with Edward’s old friends at their favorite bar. “By God, you’re a Sight for Salty Eyes!” Ben exclaimed to his old friend. “Come you in and have a drink.” “Morning all,” Edward said to them. Thatch came up to Ben and Edward with a cup in one hand and a bottle in the other as he said to Edward, while giving him a mug of ale, “Ahoy Kenway, who’s this.” “Adewale,” Edward replied introducing Adewale to his friends. “The Jackdaw’s Quartermaster.” “Jackdaw,” Thatch exclaimed as he burst out a chuckle. “You named your Brig after a poxy bird?” Flashforward… Edward brought the Jackdaw up along side Thatch’s ship the Queen Anne’s Revenge amazed by the ship’s beauty, but was also hoping that he found some medicines as he exclaimed to Thatch, “Devil in his hole, Thatch! This is a darling Galley. Thirty-two guns is it?” Thatch sat up on one of the seats and said, “I lost count at forty.” “You stepped up a Rung. So… Any luck finding the medicines here,” Edward asked him. “Nothing ‘round this Spot, sadly. But there’s a few Wrecks yonder that haven’t been scoured by nothing but Crabs and Coral.” A while later… Edward and Thatch had just boarded a British Man ‘O War and were fighting for their lives now against the Man ‘O War’s crew. Thatch knocked over a British sailor and as he was about to end him, the sailor fired his pistol at Thatch’s face, and another sailor slashed him in the chest. “Kenway,” he yelled out to the Pirate Assassin. “Here,” Edward called to him throwing Thatch a pistol. Thatch caught the pistol and as he shot the sailor that struck him, he said in a pained voice, “In a world without gold, we might have been Heroes!” “THATCH,” Edward cried as a British sailor struck the final blow on Thatch in the back, and the legendary Blackbeard drew his final breath and collapsed onto the deck, stone dead. Then another British sailor charged Edward, knocking off the Pirate Assassin into the sea. End Flashbacks… Edward was now starting to get furious as he slammed his fists on the table and yelled, “Those bloody Bastards! I would have made that crew suffer dearly if I had the will to fight after what I had seen!” “I’m sorry to hear about what happened to your friend Thatch,” Twilight said feeling upset and scared at the same time. “I know how it feels to lose someone you care about. When I was a Unicorn and started living in a town called Ponyville, the evil half of Princess Luna, Nightmare Moon, left Ponyville in what was thought to be an eternal night. I thought that Princess Celestia was gone for good, until me and my friends discovered what are known as the Elements of Harmony. We worked together and defeated Nightmare Moon, and afterwords Princess Celestia returned with Luna returning back to normal.” Edward just stared at her, realizing that she had quite the adventure in her life, much like his. With a chuckle, he wiped off the last of his tears, and finally said, “Thanks for understanding. It sounds to me like you had quite an adventure yourself. Now! Lets get going! ” To be continued... > Chapter 4: Swordfights and Concerns > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 4: Swordfights and Concerns (written by yours truly) With the final calculations written, Edward made his way to the wheel and gave the orders to set sail. “Let’s head home lads,” he said to the crew. With that, the Jackdaw headed south to the Caribbean, with every intention of making some much needed repairs to the ship. ------------------------------------------------- Two weeks had passed since Twilight was rescued for the middle of nowhere, and there was no sign of land yet. Everyone on board the Jackdaw was getting restless, waiting for something to happen. The captain noticed this near uprising of Cabin Fever, and knew what he had to do. After having one of his crew members take the Helm, Edward ventured into his cabin to find his guest sharing one of her stories to Jenny. “...Just as it seemed all hope was lost, my loyal assistant Spike returned the Crystal Heart to its rightful place. At the same time the Heart filled with all the praise and joy from the Crystal Empire Ponies, the evil Lord Sombra’s power was eradicated from the face of Equestria. And so, with the rightful ruler of the Crystal Empire back on the throne, the kingdom ventured into a new era of peace, all thanks to the bravery of my friends and me.” “That was amazing,” Jenny exclaimed. She then noticed her father standing in the doorway. “Father! Did you hear Twilight’s story?” With a chuckle Edward replied, “Only bits and pieces my darling. If both of you would join me on the deck, there’s something I want to show you.” A bit confused by the former Assassin’s request, the two girls followed Edward outside. But unbeknownst to them, the captain brought out two pairs of his finest swords. His unique swords that were buried off the south beach of Great Inagua, and the Golden swords that he accidentally found off the coast of Florida. While on the deck, the crew took notice of both of the girls exiting the cabin with the Captain in tow with the swords. After clearing his throat to gain Jenny’s and Twilight’s attention, he placed the blades on a nearby crate and said, “Now, where we’re going is no paradise. The West Indies is filled with sick men that despise pira-privateers like myself,” he corrected. “That is why I will teach you how to defend yourself, should you find yourself in trouble with Spaniards or British.” He then grabbed one of each Golden Blade and handed them to the girls as he continued, “Sword fighting is essential to combat on the sea. Now I’m going to teach you the basics of dueling, so that you’ll be prepared for the worst in the Caribbean.” With that, he raised his sword in a riposting pose and gestured for Twilight to do the same. "Are you sure about this," Twilight asked him. "Of course Twilight, you're going to need to know how in order to defend yourself," Edward replied. He took a swing of his sword and Twilight managed to dodge it. Edward swung his sword again and this time Twilight blocked it with her own sword. "That's very good," Edward said to Twilight. "You catch on fast." Each time he swung his sword, Twilight barely managed to block them all. "I read a few books on sword fighting back in Equestria," Twilight said as she pushed Edward and his sword away. “It’s way easier to use a sword with hands than your mouth.” He just chuckled after her comment, then continued with the match. After a while Twilight started to get the hang of using a sword. In fact, she started to observe how Edward was fighting. He seemed to be slacking on purpose, for what reason she knew not. Suddenly, Twilight managed to land a lucky shot that disarmed Edward of his sword. Seeing her chance, Twilight began to swing her sword towards Edward... ...Only to have her attack blocked by a hidden blade attached to the Assassin’s wrist, causing her to lose her momentum. Before she knew what happened, the former pony tumbled head over feet into some nearby barrels. Dazed and confused, she felt Edward pick her up from the mess. “Are you alright Twi,” he said with a hint of worry in his voice. “Yes, I’m fine,” Twilight replied, as she woosley stood up. “What just happened?” With a chuckle the Pirate Assassin said, “The first rule on the sea lass. Expect the unexpected.” Suddenly one of the crew members shouted, “Land hoe!” Hearing this, Edward made his way to the front of the ship and looked through his spyglass. Sure enough, they made it home to Great Inagua. Seeing that they were almost home, the captain made his way back to Twilight and Jenny. “We will continue our lessons another time,” he said. “We’re almost there.” With that, the girls gathered their things and re-entered the cabin. Edward retook the wheel, and said "Alright Jack, sing." Now we are ready to sail for the Horn, Weigh hey, roll and go! Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn, To be rollicking randy dandy-O! Heave a pawl, 0 heave away! Weigh hey, no! and go! The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored, To be rollicking randy dandy-O! ------------------------------------------------------------ Meanwhile in the Captain’s Cabin, Twilight thought on how her friends were doing. “I hope they aren’t too worried about me disappearing...Oh who am I kidding, Pinkie or Spike probably noticed and started a search party for me. I just hope they’re alright.” With a shrug of her slightly aching shoulders, she decided to rest her eyes a bit. It would be awhile until they docked, so Twilight decided to get some shuteye. As she drifted off into the Dreamworld, one last thought crossed her mind, “I wonder if Princess Luna can find me here?” To be continued... > Chapter 5: Searches and Dances Part 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5: Searches and Dances Part 1 (Written by chrisharte97 and edited by yours truly) Back in Equestria… Back in Ponyville, everypony was still having a good time, but the rest of the Mane Six and Spike weren’t having as good a time because they were looking for Twilight. She hadn’t returned for at least two weeks, so her friends went out searching for her with the Princesses help. They first started checking the beaches to see if she was still there relaxing, but there was no sign of the lavender Alicorn anywhere. They then checked the cities trying to see if she was in any of those cities, but even the citizens of Manehatten didn’t know where Twilight was. At the Library, Spike, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Applejack were just waiting for their friend Rainbow Dash to return. Just then Rainbow Dash opened the door as Spike asked her, “Well Rainbow, did you find Twilight?” “No I didn’t Spike, I searched the beach she was heading to and also all over to Baltimare,” Rainbow Dash replied shaking her head in defeat, “What about the rest of you girls, did any of you find Twi?” The rest of the Mane Six shook their heads in defeat. “Well, let’s keep looking,” Spike shouted feeling really desperate. “Calm down there Spike,” Applejack said to the little Dragon. “We’re all worried about Twilight as well, but this shouldn’t be a good time to freak out.” Spike took a few deep breaths to help himself calm down before saying, “Sorry about that girls, I just get worried if anything had happened to Twilight, she is like an older sister to me,” as tears began to roll down his face. “We understand what you’re going through my little Spikey-Wikey,” Rarity nuzzling her cheek against his. “I’m sure somepony knows where Twilight might be now.” Just then there was a knock at the door. “Come in,” Spike said as the door opened revealing Zecora was standing on the other side. “Oh hello Zecora, what are you doing here?” “I have been told of the disappearance of Twilight,” Zecora spoke in her rhyming language “And I have come to show you where she resides,” she showed the Mane (5) and Spike how she planned to help them find Twi. Spike then ran and brought back a cauldron full of water. Zecora then dumped in some green colored dust, a bright blue liquid, then some purple colored dust, and finally a few herbs into the cauldron. The girls and Spike rushed over to Zecora as the cauldron began showing Twilight residing in the human world. “Twilight is in the human world,” Spike exclaimed to the zebra, while looking at the bubbling picture. “But wait. This isn’t right. This human world is different from the one in the mirror.” “She is in a different human world and a different time,” Zecora said. “She has landed in the days of Pirate and crimes.” “She in a different human world and the timeline is when Pirates were around,” Fluttershy asked as Zecora nodded in response. “Oh I love Pirates,” Pinkie said cheerfully bouncing around the library. “So adventurous.” “But you do know that Pirates also kill and plunder ships too, right Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash asked the pink party pony. “Of course I do silly.” “So there is no chance that we’re going through the mirror to get this human world, I’m guessing,” Spike said as Zecora nodded in response. “That’s just great.” “So how are we going to get to Twilight if we can’t use the mirror at the Crystal Empire,” Applejack asked the zebra. “This is Twilight’s fate, I’m afraid,” Zecora said to the Mane (5) and the little purple Dragon “Perhaps one day, we will come for her aid.” “I hope your right Zecora,” Spike said looking into the caldron. -------------------------------------------------- Back with Twilight... “Twilight, wake up,” a voice said to Twilight as she opened her eyes to see Edward was looking down at her. “Come now Twilight, we finally made port in Great Inagua and I have a friend here that you might like to meet.” “Okay Edward,” Twilight said to him. “Just give me a moment to get up,” as she managed to get up on her feet. “Come now Twilight,” Edward said as he lead her and Jenny onto the main port of Great Inagua. “Hello there Edward,” a dark brown skinned man said to Edward from the main building, he wore a cloth around his head and also the same styled outfit that was much like Edward’s clothes. “What are you doing back in Great Inagua?” “It’s great to see you too Ade,” Edward greeted his former quartermaster. “I would like you to meet my friend, Miss Twilight Sparkle,” as he soon introduced Twilight to Adewale. “Twilight, this is the former Quartermaster of the Jackdaw, Adewale.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you Adewale,” Twilight said to the former Quartermaster. “Likewise Miss Sparkle,” Adewale said as he soon noticed that the Jackdaw was in shambles. “The Jackdaw looks it’s been through a fight between two Man O’ Wars Edward. What happened to it?” “We’ll tell you when we get up there Ade,” Edward said to Adewale. “Right now we need her repaired so we can get sailing again.” “Of course Edward, boys get that ship repaired now,” Adewale said to the repair crew. “Come on, get moving!” “Aye, sir,” the repair crew said as they started swarming around the Jackdaw. “Come on now, Twilight,” Edward said to Twilight. “Lets me get you a drink.” They made their way to a nearby tavern, and sat down on one of the free tables. “You finest drink in the house lad,” Edward said to a nearby waiter. “Aye Mr. Kenway,” the waiter said to the former Pirate Assassin. “I’m guessing a rum flip.” “Of course,” Edward said. “I think I’ll try a rum flip as well,” Twilight said. “Okay then, two rum flips coming up,” the waiter said as he left to get their drinks. Just then Adewale came over and saw an unfamiliar little girl sitting next to Edward. The Pirate Assassin noticed his look of confusion and said, “Ade I almost forgot, this is my daughter Jennifer.” “It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Ade,” Jenny said to Adewale. “You too, Miss Kenway,” Adewale said shaking her hand as he soon looked at Twilight. “So tell me how did you and Miss Sparkle meet Edward?” “Well as me and Jenny were still on our way to England, when a storm hit us causing us to sail into unknown territory. That’s when I noticed Twilight was on a small island trying to get our attention so I swam towards her, and I brought her on board the Jackdaw,” Edward explained to Adewale on how he met Twilight. “Your rum flips,” the waiter said placing the rum flips on the table. “Thank you,” Edward said to the waiter. “Yes, thank you,” Twilight thanked the waiter as she grabbed her cup of rum flip, but as she took a sip of the drink she soon spat the it out of her mouth because of the sudden bitter taste in her mouth. “Not as good as I hoped this would be,” she said to Edward. “I guess it is something of an acquired taste to you I guess,” Edward said to her as he took a drink of his rum flip as he noticed that some people were dancing to the music of a band. “Say Twilight, wanna dance together?” Twilight blushed at what he said, but she said to him, “I’m not really sure, I don’t really know how to dance like you can.” “Just follow me and you will be perfectly fine Twilight,” Edward said as she took his hand and lead her towards the dance floor. ------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere... After searching high and low, the Mane (5) and Spike decided to retire for the night. The same could be said for the rest of Equestria, and for one Princess Celestia. The long weeks of searching while balancing her daily work had taken their toll on the Bearer of the Sun. With dinner/breakfast passed between the Alicorn Sisters, one retired for the night, satisfied that the day had come to an end, but disappointed that the search was getting them nowhere. While the other sister was ready and waiting for the journey into the Dreamworld. Luna had agreed with her sister to traverse the realm of dreams to uncover the location of her lost student. This task would be difficult, since they were unaware of Twilight’s location. But Luna had to try. Informing her guards to stand watch at her door, the Princess of the Night executed her namesake and entered the Dreamworld. No one really knew what the realm of dreams looked like. But if you were a traveler of dreams, you would find yourself in the most peculiar environment. Opening her eyes, Luna gazed upon the familiar Hotel that would take her to each and every beings’ dream. However this was all in her head; a familiar backdrop to help her navigate the near endless dreams. The lower floors were for the youngest children of the world, where their imagination was the limit. The floors that made up the middle were for the adults, dreaming of wishes yet to be made. And finally at the highest levels resided the elders of every kingdom, reminiscing in the life they lived in. By her calculations, Twilight’s room of dreams was somewhere in the middle. After a quick trip up the elevator, Luna made her way through the hallways of the sleeping. Each door in the hall was decorated with a face of every person/pony that was either awake or asleep during this night. However, just because night had fallen over Equestria, didn’t mean that everyone was asleep, as evidenced by several open doors that lead to an unbreakable wall. Some doors were open with both darkness and light emanating from within the rooms. This meant that the person was either having a pleasant dream or a nightmare. While searching for a bit, Luna eventually found Twilight’s open door...Only to find that it lead to a wall. “We hope thou art alright, fair Twilight,” Luna thought, as she made her way to one of the doors holding a nightmare most foul. “Just stay vigilant for a little longer. Until then, We can wait.” To be continued... > Chapter 5: Searches and Dances Part 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5: Searches and Dances Part 2 (written by yours truly) One hour later in the Dreamworld... “That should ease their troubled minds for now,” said Luna to herself as she returned to the Dreamworld Hotel. She had mapped out the rooms/ponies that needed her help the most to pass the time for Twilight to sleep. It seemed like everypony that had searched for the Lost Princess was troubled in their dreams. They knew something was wrong, that there was nothing they could do. But Luna had explained in their dreams that there was still hope for Sparkle’s return. This mission lasted for about an hour, just as Luna had calculated. In that time, the door leading to Twilight’s dream was starting to disperse the wall that blocked the Night Princess’s passage. With determination set in her mind, the Princess of the Night ventured into the dreams of Twilight, completely unaware of what lay beyond the veil. -------------------------------------------------------- One hour earlier, back on Great Inagua... Twilight was having the time of her life. When the music reached her new ears as Edward lead her to the dancing masses, she couldn’t stop herself. She danced as best she could to the music, which consisted of her going on all fours and lashing out her arms and legs in a random fashion. But when she felt Edward’s hand grasp her own, she stood and followed his movements to the beat of the tune. The merry lads danced all night to tunes like ‘William Taylor’, ‘Fathom the Bowl’, and ‘All for me Grog’, to the moonlit air. When everyone had caught their breath, and took one last drink, a red-haired woman stood up to the singing block. She was a well known friend to Edward, going back to his arrival at the island of Nassau, named Anne. She and Edward became strong friends after they had nothing left to lose against the Templars. In the end, she became the new Quartermaster for the Jackdaw, and led the crew of the Black Flag to victory. Afterwards, she returned to her part-time bartending/singer job, occasionally returning to the Jackdaw by Edward’s side as a friend. When she caught word that Kenway had returned from his voyage to London, she was happy to know he was safe. But she couldn’t speak to him yet, as the masses of drunken pirates demanded one last song to finish off the night. With confirmation from the band nearby, she began to sing, ‘The Trooper and the Maid’. (Begin Music) As soon as the tune filled the air, the dancers participating bowed to their respective partner and began to move from the beat. Edward and Twilight put their right hands together as they began to slowly spin around six times as they switched hands repeating the same number of slow spins. After that Edward pulled Twilight closer to him letting her rest on the Assassin's shoulder as they swayed from side to side. Watching them, Jenifer couldn't help but think that Twilight could be Edward's new wife and her new mother. "They look beautiful together, don't they mister Ade?" she asked Adewale. "They are a fine sight indeed Ms. Kenway," Ade replied to her as they watched the two dance to the music. Finishing off with twists and turns, as well as a bow/curtsy to the dancers’ partner, the song had ended. Everyone that had joined in for the nighttime activity were now exhausted, and ready to turn in for the night. Seeing that Twilight was about to collapse from dancing too much, he took her by the hand and led her to the overlook balcony of the Great Inagua Mansion. He felt that the salty sea air and the sight of the moon rising in the sky would ease her back into a relaxed state. “I’ve had the most amazing time Edward,” said Twilight as she gazed upon the starry sea night. “I’m glad you enjoyed it Miss Sparkle,” replied Kenway. For a while they both said nothing, just being content with each other as the moon made its ascension into the night sky. With a yawn, Twilight said, “These past couple of weeks have been tiresome for me. I’m just glad to finally rest after everything that’s happened.” With a slight chuckle, Edward replied, “I would imagine so. If you need a place to rest for the night I do have a spare cabin next to the mansion that nobody has claimed yet.” She nodded, and with that he lead her to her cabin. The cabin consisted of a living room with a medium length couch, a rocking chair, and book shelf complete with several encyclopedias worth of knowledge to the former pony. The room to the left was half kitchen, half dining room with a plain table and two wooden chairs. A mini hallway towards the north side of the kitchen gave room to a bathroom, extra closet, and bedroom. The bedroom itself had an extra bookshelf with more stories that the Element of Magic could pass the time with, a dresser complete with a vanity mirror on the back, and a queen sized bed on the back wall. The windows on the remaining wall depicted the radiant sea glistening in the moonlight. “Now, seeing as you have just about everything you need to stay, I hope you enjoy your time here with me and my family,” said Edward as he lead Twilight back to the front door. Twilight was speechless. For the longest time she thought that her stay in the Caribbean was going to be lonely what with being separated from her friends and family. But now she realized that no matter if the situation was bleak, there was always a light in the darkness. So it came to no surprise to her that she kissed Edward on the cheek. “Thank you,” she said. “For everything you’ve done for me.” Edward Kenway, the Captain of the Jackdaw, the Assassin under the Black Flag was rendered utterly speechless. He did not expect Twilight to kiss him after all that had happened. Clearing his throat with a cough, he awkwardly replied, “You're welcome.” With that they both retired for the night in their own beds. Just before Twilight drifted off to sleep, she thought, “This was the best night ever.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Opening her eyes she found herself standing over the sea, the waves passing through her feet like smoke. From what she could see, the water stretched out to infinity and beyond with no landmarks in sight. “H-hello,” she said to the infinite waters, not expecting them to reply. “It is so good to see you again, fair Twilight,” said a voice from behind. Turning sharply, the purple haired girl spotted a familiar alicorn trotting towards her. “Luna, is that you?” said the Element of Magic. “Yes. Tis I,” the Night Princess replied. “We have spent a long time looking for you. And now here we are.” But one thing that Luna did not account for was where she stood to the one bearing the dream. “Though this may be a problem since We’re the little pony in this situation.” > Chapter 6: Lunar Hope > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter six: Lunar Hope (written by chrisharte97 and edited by yours truly) “What do you mean Princess Luna?” Twilight asked the blue Alicorn Princess of the Moon, “I should be in the human world that I have been to earlier, but in it’s past right?” “No, Twilight Sparkle,” Luna replied to the purple haired girl. “Thou hast gotten word from Spike, that thou is in another human world, full of Pirates and Crimes.” “Another human world?!” Twilight exclaimed. “So I wasn’t sent to the human world that I had already been to before, but to a new human world?” Luna nodded in response as Twilight got down on her knees in total shock and disbelief. “I… I can’t believe it,” the lavender skinned and purple haired girl continued. “But can’t you and the girls go through the mirror so you can come and get me?” “Thou is truly sorry, Twilight Sparkle,” Luna said to her sadly “We can not, for the Crystal Mirror is not connected to this human world.” This shot Twilight to the core, “W-what? I can’t be stuck in this human world forever... Right?” She started to cry thinking that she was going to be stuck on Edward’s human world and how she would feel if she left Edward and her daughter. “Thou can assure you that we are trying to find a way to bring thou back,” the blue Alicorn reassured Twilight. “Thou must wait a little longer.” Luna could see that there was more that Twilight was going to miss if she was to return to Equestria. “Is there more that thou want to say?” she asked the purple haired girl. “Y-yes Princess,” Twilight replied to the Princess of the moon as she was still thinking about Edward. “There… There is someone that I just don’t want to leave behind in this world.” “Who is this human?” The purple haired girl tried to choke back any more tears before saying to the blue Alicorn, “His name is Edward Kenway, Princess Luna,” as she slowly got back onto her feet. “He used to be a Pirate, but I can reassure you Princess that he has changed now, and he really knows how to treat a girl properly.” “Sounds to the that thou likes this Edward Kenway,” Luna said to her as Twilight blushed. “I do like him and he seems like a nice gentleman,” Twilight admitted looking away for a few seconds thinking about Edward, but then turned back to the blue Alicorn Princess “He said he used to be married, but now all he has now is his daughter, Jennifer; a nice girl.” “Yet, there is more to this human than meets the eye,” Luna commented to her. “There is, but he just wants to keep it to himself, that’s all,” Twilight nodded. “And can understand that about him.” “But does thou share the same feelings about Kenway?” the blue Alicorn asked. “I think so,” the purple haired girl replied to her. “Can they come with me?” “Thou wilt see, but back to this predicament of thou,” Luna said. “Although thou knows one artifact in this human world, but thou is not sure if it will help bring the back. Tis known as the Apple of Eden; it's an artifact of great power and it has the power to bring the back, but it's hidden somewhere within in this world thou has been brought to.” “Where in this human world is this Apple of Eden, Princess Luna?” Twilight asked. “The place known to the humans as Yucatan in an old Mayan ruin,” Luna replied to her as she used her magic to summon a map and gave it to the purple haired girl. “Take this map, it will lead thou to it. Once there, thou can find the Apple of Eden and thou can be brought back to Equestria. But We must warn you that the Apple of Eden is too powerful. Only a select few can handle it’s power.” “Thank you, Princess, we will not let you down,” Twilight said taking the map. “We know that thou won’t, now thou must go,” Luna said as she disappeared. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Twilight, Twilight, wake up,” a familiar voice said to the purple haired girl. Twilight opened her eyes to see Edward standing next to her bed. “Wh… What is it Edward?” she asked him still feeling a little bit tired. “You were talking in your sleep,” Edward replied. “I actually heard you from where I was. What was happening in here?” “I had a dream,” Twilight said to the Pirate Assassin and explained to him how Princess Luna has the ability to be in your dreams as she also felt something in her right hand and she looked at that hand to find a piece of paper in it. “I guess it was more than just a dream,” as she realized it was the map that Princess Luna gave her. “Where is it suppose to lead?” the Pirate Assassin asked again as they both looked at it. “That's close to the old Assassin Encampment, but did she say what is at this X?” “She said that it will lead us to what she said was the Apple of Eden,” Twilight replied. “She said that it can send you, me, and Jennifer to Equestria.” “Why are we going with you?” he asked her. “Because… Because I like you,” the purple haired girl admitted giving him a hug. “I liked you when we first met.” “I… I do not know what to think about this,” Edward said in surprise. “I know it’s weird, but it’s also the truth,” Twilight said to him. She thought that Edward wasn’t going to love her back, but all of a sudden Edward returned the hug. “I love you too,” he said to her as he let tears run down Twilight’s face, but these were not tears of sadness, but tears of joy. “Thank you Edward,” was all that Twilight could say to the Pirate Assassin. “Now, let’s get Jenny and be on our way then,” Edward said. “Yes, we should,” Twilight agreed as they walked outside to find Jenny. When the pair found Jenny, she was looking at the view of the overlook up at the beautiful night sky. “Jenny dear, what are you doing?” Edward asked as his daughter turned around to see him and Twilight standing behind her. “Oh, I was just looking up at the stars and the moon father,” Jenny replied to her father. “And the funny thing is that I have the feeling that someone is watching us from up there on the moon.” ‘Luna must be watching us,’ Twilight thought to herself. “Anyways, how would you feel if we take you on an adventure?” Edward asked his daughter. “Really?” Jenny exclaimed in surprise. Her father nodded in response. “Yay!” she cheered. “Ade, is the Jackdaw ready yet?” Edward asked his old Quartermaster. “Give them at least another minute or two and then you three can set off,” Adewale replied to him. “Right then Ade,” Edward said as he turned to the girls. “Okay it looks like we have time to relax for a little bit.” “Okay then Edward,” Twilight said as she joined Jennifer's side at the overlook, "You know Jenny, I think I know who is watching us from the moon." "Really, who?" "Her name is Princess Luna, she controls the moon on my world, and she can enter the dreams of others," Twilight nodded. "So she could be watching us now?" Jennifer asked. "It's a possibility," Twilight answered as they both looked up at the moon. "Alright Edward, the Jackdaws repaired and ready for you three to depart whenever you feel like it," Adewale said to Edward. "Cheers Ade," Edward said as he turned to the girls. "Alright then, Girls, it’s time to set out to sea.” “Okay father,” Jennifer said as she held on to Twilight’s arm and pulled her. “Come on Miss Twilight, let’s go on the adventure.” Twilight chuckled, “Okay, okay Jenny, let’s go,” as they followed Edward towards the Jackdaw. When they got on board, Edward ordered to the crew, “Let’s go lads, we’re sailing for the Yucatan Peninsula,” as he took the wheel and sailed out of port. “Give us song boys!” The crew started to sing another one of their favorite songs; Roll, Boys, Roll! (Start Song) Sally Brown, she's the gal for me boys! Roll Boys! Roll boys roll! Sally Brown she's the gal for me, boys! Way high, Miss Sally Brown It's down to Trinidad to see Sally Brown boys! Way high, Miss Sally Brown (End Song) As the crew were singing, Twilight took role as a Quartermaster for the Jackdaw, but then she saw another ship out in the distance. “Edward, look over there,” she said to the Pirate Assassin pointing to him in the direction of the ship which was coming closer. “That ship is coming closer to us.” “Aye, that looks like a Military class Spanish Brig by the looks of it,” Edward nodded as he ordered a full stop, sent Jennifer to the Captain’s Cabin for her safety, and let the Brig pulled along side the Jackdaw. “Hola buen señor,” he said to the Brig’s Captain in Spanish. “What seems to be the trouble?” “What is your business out here?” the Captain asked them. “We are on our way on an expedition to Yucatan sir,” Twilight lied to the Captain. “Right Captain?” “That’s right Miss Twilight,” Edward replied. “We’re on an expedition to Yucatan.” “Very well then, you may go,” the Captain said to them. “Thank you,” Edward said as he ordered the crew to release the main sails. “Let’s go lads!” As they got far away enough from the Spanish Brig, Twilight said to him. “That was close.” “Aye, we could have drunken Damnation if that man didn’t believe us,” the Pirate Assassin agreed. “Can you bring Jenny out for me, please Twilight?” “Sure Edward,” the purple haired girl replied as she walked down to the Captain’s Cabin and as she slowly opened the door, she said to her. “Hey Jenny, it’s safe for you to come outside now.” “Okay, Miss Twilight,” Jenny said as she walked outside and followed Twilight up to her father. "The seas are pretty calm this morning Edward," Twilight commented. "Yes, they are and it's strange the King's fleet is no where to be found," he agreed. "But if this Apple of Eden can bring us to Equestria like this Princess Luna says we'll hopefully be safe." "I hope so to," Twilight said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few hours later... When they made it to the coast off of Yucatan, Edward ordered a full stop, and he and Twilight went into the jungle in search for the Apple. “Sweet Celestia these jungles are thick,” Twilight commented as the Pirate Assassin was hacking away leaves and bushes. “Aye, they are,” Edward nodded. “You never been into a jungle like this before in Equestria haven’t you Twilight?” “No, I haven’t,” the purple haired girl replied. “This jungle is worse than the Everfree Forest.” “Don’t worry, Twilight,” Edward said to her. “Will get the Apple and get back to the Jackdaw.” “Okay Edward,” Twilight said as she continued to follow the Pirate Assassin through the jungle. When Edward hacked through some vines and bushes, he said to the purple haired girl, “Twilight, I think we’re here,” as they saw a massive Mayan ruin. “That’s must be the same Mayan ruin that Princess Luna said that the Apple of Eden is supposed to be in,” Twilight said as she and the Pirate Assassin walked into the ruins. “Wow, they must have been real good at Astronomy.” “That must explain the signs the Observatory had that were featured on these structures,” Edward said as he used his Eagle Vision to search for the right structure the Apple of Eden is in and saw a large temple to a Mayan God with a big stairway was glowing gold. “The Apple is this way,” he said to Twilight. “How can you be sure Edward?” Twilight asked him following him up the temple. “I have this special sense ever since I was a lad,” Edward explained to the purple haired girl. “At first I thought that it had something to do with my dreaming, but another friend of mine showed me that it wasn't only with my dreams, but it can be also like a sixth sense.” “Wow, that is amazing,” Twilight exclaimed in interest as they both made it to the top of the stairs into the sanctuary of the Mayan temple. “This is definitely a temple to a Mayan God.” “Yes it does,” Edward agreed using his Eagle Vision to search for a way to get the Apple of Eden and soon found a pressure plate. “I found a pressure plate, I think it will reveal the Apple for us.” “Let’s push it and find out,” Twilight said as she used her foot to push down the pressure plate and watched as a small part of the floor began to open revealing a small alter with a statue of what they thought was a Mayan God with a golden glowing metal sphere in its hands. “That must be the Apple of Eden,” she said to the Pirate Assassin. “I’ll go and have a look,” Edward said walking up to the statue, he slowly reached up to grab the Apple, and when he got a hold of the Apple and took it out of the statue’s hands he said to Twilight. “I got it.” “Great,” the purple haired girl said. “Now let’s get out of this temple before anything bad starts to happen.” “Agreed Twilight,” Edward nodded as the two of them ran out of the temple. “So this is the Apple of Eden, doesn't look like much.” “Princess Luna said that a chosen few humans can handle it’s power,” Twilight explained to him about the Apple from what she heard. Just before she was about to explain what the Apple could do, a deep rumble above the treasure hunters caused them to stop. Dust from ancient fixtures on the roof came undone, as a centuries old defense mechanism came to life. Edward tuned his senses to the disturbance to find something worth running from. "Twilight, we have to go," he said with fear laced in his voice. "Now!" A look of confusion crossed her face. "Why? What's going-" her voice instantly caught in her throat when she saw the disturbance from above. Part of the roof fixtures gave way to a massive boulder that was gaining speed during its trip down the steps. "Run!" shouted Edward. He grabbed Twilight's hand, and together they rushed towards the exit. No matter how fast they ran, the rolling ball of death was hot on their heels. The ground gave way into dirt instead of stone, as the runners escaped the crushing path of the boulder. However it seemed to have a mind of its own, as its path followed Edward into a dense part of the jungle. Diving down into a ditch, he barely escaped the boulder's path as is rolled harmlessly away from him. Laying on his side to catch his breath while chuckling, Edward came face to face with a skeleton that seemed to be angry that it died and Edward still lived. "Shut up," the Pirate Assassin said, whilst slapping the skull across its face. Standing up, Edward made his way to the entrance to the temple, hoping that this insane quest would soon come to an end. > Chapter 7: The Return to Eden > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7: The Return to Eden (written by chrisharte97 and edited by yours truly) (chrisharte97’s note: If you guys are wondering why I did this one and not Sirjadan13, is because I’m taking the pressure of him doing this chapter off of him. But he will do chapter eight.) “Twilight, where are you?” the Pirate Assassin called out to the purple haired girl as he found himself back at the temple. “Over hear, Edward,” Twilight replied to him as Edward turned around to see that she made out without a scratch herself, but she was filthy from her hair down to her shoe-covered feet. “Are you alright, Twilight?” he asked her as he held out his hand. “Well that was a load of rub, don’t you think?” “Yeah, it was,” the purple haired girl replied as she took his hand and got back up on her feet. “You still have the Apple of Eden?” she asked him as she wiped off the dust on her clothes. “Aye, I do,” Edward replied revealing that the Apple was still in his hand. “So this is the Apple of Eden, doesn’t look like much,” he said as the Apple started to glow a little. “Princess Luna said that a chosen few humans can handle it’s power,” Twilight explained to him about the Apple. “She also said that the decedents of Altair are worthy of the wisdom from the Apple.” “Well I guess that I am able to handle this Apple’s power,” Edward said looking at the Apple of Eden. “But let’s head back to the Jackdaw, before another trap finds us .” “Yes, lets,” Twilight nodded as they walk back through the jungle to the Jackdaw. When they made back on the Jackdaw, Jennifer asked them, “Father, Miss Twilight! I’m happy to see you two made it out safely, but what did you find in that ruin?” Edward showed his daughter the Apple and replied to her, “This is what is known as the Apple of Eden. Only a chosen few can handle this objects power.” “And he is actually one of them Jennifer,” Twilight added. “Wow!” Jennifer exclaimed. “Let’s go boys, we’re heading back to Great Inagua!” Edward said to the crew as they cheered and began to sing Sailing over the Dogger Bank. Sailin' over the Dogger Bank: Oh, wasn't it a treat? Wind a-blowing east-nor'-east, we had to give a sheet! You ought to see us runnin' the wind a-blowin' free, On a passage from the Dogger Bank to Great Grimsby. Watch her, twigger, she's a proper jubee-jewel. You ought to see us runnin', the wind a-blowin' free, On a passage from the Dogger Bank to Great Grimsby! As they were sailing back to Great Inagua, Jenny noticed that the Apple of Eden that was in his father’s satchel was starting to glow brighter. “Father, why is the Apple of Eden starting to glow?” she asked her father as the Pirate Assassin look down at the satchel seeing what his daughter was looking at. Twilight soon noticed it too as Edward replied to his daughter, “I have no idea Jenny,” and ordered a full stop. “Well Princess Luna said that it has some powers besides sending others to different worlds,” Twilight said looking at the glowing object. But then the Apple of Eden started to glow brighter blinding not just them, but the entire crew of the Jackdaw as well. When the light began to dim a little, the Pirate Assassin looked around, and Twilight, Jenny, the Jackdaw, and it’s crew, but there was no sign of them at all; just a world of white light. “Where the bloody hell am I?” he asked himself. “Edward Kenway,” a strange ghostly voice called out to Edward. “Who’s there?” the Pirate Assassin asked the voice as he looking around the area, “Reveal yourself so I won’t have to find you.” “As you wish Edward,” the voice replied as a shining transparent woman in strange clothing appeared out of the light, “I’m sure you have many questions to ask me, Edward Kennway.” “Yes I do,” Edward nodded, “First off, who are you, where am I, and finally where is Twilight and my daughter Jenny?” “Well to answer first question; I am called Minerva, I was one of the three that created the Pieces of Eden,” the woman known a Minerva began to explain to the Pirate Assassin. “You mean like this Apple of Eden?!” Edward exclaimed pulling out the Apple out of the satchel and showed it to Minerva. “That is correct Edward,” Minerva nodded, “Now, for the second question; you are still on your Jackdaw and as for where Twilight Sparkle and your daughter are; they are safe, your daughter is still with you, but I only sent Miss Sparkle back to her world.” Edward was shocked and annoyed at the same time as he asked the spirit, “What in God’s name for?!” “It is not time for you to live there just yet,” Minerva replied to the Pirate Assassin calmly, “That is why I’m send you, your daughter, your Jackdaw, and it’s crew to another world, but Miss Sparkle knows this world well so I’m sure you can see her again,” as he put the Apple back in the satchel, “And when it is time for you to live with Miss Sparkle in Equestria, I will send you, your daughter, your Jackdaw and it’s crew there.” “I hope you are telling the truth, Minerva,” Edward commented, “Because I’m still trying to get away from a lot of surprises.” “I can assure you Edward, that I am telling the truth,” Minerva said as a thought crossed her mind, “Oh and before I go, you will get meet an old friend of yours in the other world.” “Who is it?” the Pirate Assassin asked the spirit. “I’m sure you know her name well enough to remember her,” Minerva replied to him as she just disappeared into thin air... ...Not before she turned to her right and said, "I know that you are there. What you did to Desmond was unspeakable. I cannot change your mind but I will point you on where to go. Edward is going to be lost and confused in a town near New York. Guide him to his destination, or the line of Desmond will be lost forever..." "...Farewell, seeker of memories..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At Twilight’s house… Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Fluttershy were sitting in Twilight’s library think about what their best friend was doing in the other human world while Spike was pacing around the floor in circles thinking if the lavender Alicorn was even alright at all. “Spike, do you think you can stop pacing like that,” the white Unicorn asked the little purple Dragon. “You’re starting to make me worry.” “Yeah, and it’s starting to make me dizzy.” Pinkie said to the baby Dragon feeling a little woozy. “Sorry girls,” Spike apologized to them. “I’m just really worried about Twilight.” “We know Spike, we’re worried about Twilight too,” Applejack said to him. “But I’m sure that she is in good hooves or hands in the matter of this pickle she is in.” “But what is she is captured by some humans thinking that she is a Pirate herself?” Spike asked them. “They would probably have hanged her by now.” “That’s preposterous Spike,” Rarity said to him. “I’m sure that these human governments wouldn’t do that so simply.” “Rarity is right Spike,” Fluttershy agreed with the white Unicorn. “I’m sure that they would give her a trial first before doing something like that or not.” “I hope you girls are right,” Spike said as he sat down on a small pile of books. But just then, there was a flash of a bright blinding light appeared out of nowhere in the center of the library. “What in Sam hill is going on?” the orange Earth Pony asked as she and the others covered their eyes from the blinding light. “I have no idea,” Rainbow Dash replied as the light began to fade away and when they all uncovered their eyes they saw the unexpected. There was Twilight laying there on the floor with no scratch what’s so ever. “TWILIGHT!” the lavender Alicorn’s friends and assistant exclaimed in complete surprise. “How did she get back?” the sky blue Pegasus asked. “I have no idea Rainbow,” Spike replied as he came over to Twilight’s side. “But I think that flash of light had something to do with it.” “Is she alright?” Fluttershy asked worried that Twilight might have a scratch. Spike looked around the lavender mare and there wasn’t a scratch on the mare that he could see as he replied to the yellow Pegasus, “She seems to be alright, Fluttershy.” Just after he said that, Twilight began to stir. “Uh… W-where am I?” she asked. “Easy Twilight,” Rarity said to her. “Rarity?” Twilight asked. “Yes, it me Twilight, and you're safely in your library.” “WAIT, where is Edward and Jennifer?!” Twilight exclaimed as she looked around for any sign of the Pirate Assassin and his daughter. “What are you talkin’ about Twilight,” Applejack asked her best friend. “Who in tarnation are Edward and Jennifer?” ‘They didn’t make it?’ Twilight asked in their thoughts as she explained to her friends and her number one assistant. “Edward used to be a Pirate, but gave it all up to head towards the land of England to make a new living with his daughter Jennifer, and he was an Assassin as well, one who fights for the freedom of others against their enemies called the Templars.” “Oh… Oh my,” Fluttershy said worryingly thinking of what Twilight had just went through in the other human world. “Did he do any harm to you?” “No he didn’t Fluttershy,” the lavender Alicorn replied to the yellow Pegasus. “He was actually a gentleman, than the criminal he used to be,” as she continued to tell her friends the brief time in Edward’s human world. “That is amazing, Twilight,” the little purple Dragon said is amazement. “Oh! We should throw a “welcome to Equestria party” if they ever show up,” Pinkie Pie said with excitement as the rest of the Mane Six and Spike just chuckled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With Edward and Jennifer… When the light began to die down, Edward, his daughter, and the Jackdaw and it’s crew were somehow docked in a harbor as Jennifer asked her father, “Father, what happened?” “I have no idea Jenny,” the Pirate Assassin replied to his daughter. “But I think we have been sent to another world.” “How is that possible?” Jennifer asked him. “I think this Apple of Eden has something to do with it,” Edward replied still holding the Apple of Eden in his right hand. “Well, well, well, I’m surprised to see you here Kenway,” a familiar female British voice said to him as he turned around to see a familiar face that he would never forget. To be continued... > And Now For Something Completely Different > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter ???: And Now For Something Completely Different (written by yours truly) "...Wait, WHAT?!" Those were the first words that came out of your mouth as the monitor for your Animus station shut down on its own. "How the hell did she do that," you said to yourself, as you mused over what became over your new job. A few days ago Abstergo hired you on the Sample 17 project of recovering the memories of the ancestors of Desmond Miles. The pay was great and all, but the experience had left you nothing else to do except screw around in the 18th Century Caribbean. Not that it was boring; the best times you got out of the experience was the naval battles and the assassination missions scattered throughout the islands. But the troubles soon began when the Tech Support guy, whose name escaped you at the moment, talked you into hacking key components in the Abstergo server. Soon you found out the horrible truth to his plans. He tried to sacrifice you to some nut-job computer goddess just to be graced with her majesty. What an idiot. Unfortunately for him, she backed out of the deal because her current location in cyberspace had left her severely weakened. You ran as fast as you could back to your Animus to get as far away from that duo as you could, and continued your work on the Edward Kenway line. Not too long after you completed the 12th sequence in Edward's memories, (Why Abstergo sectioned off the memory lane into 13 sequences, you'll never understand), the man that wanted you dead cornered you in your own office. Long story short, he was the Sage you encounter through the memories of Edward reborn again, he blabbed on and on about the digital woman named Juno and that her kind were Gods to the human race once upon a time, and tried to kill you by lethal injection. But your boss managed to save you in time by having the madman be gunned down by security. And as compensation for your near death experience, she let you see the finished trailer for Abstergo's new simulator to go with the Liberation Project. You soon realized that there was one more sequence left to view on the famed Pirate Assassin, so you re-entered the Animus. Suffice to say, you didn't see this coming. From the reveal of little Jenny, to the mysterious Twilight Sparkle, there was no end to the madness in the simulation. That is until another one of those digital women showed up and outright spoke to you took the cake. She apparently trusted you with the task at hand, however bizarre it might be. With determination set in your mind, you checked out of the entertainment center, made your way to the airport, and began your quest to save history. "This job just keeps getting weirder and weirder," you said to your self as your flight to New York from Montreal took flight. By the time you arrived in New York, night had befallen on the city that never slept. Now noticing how tired you were after all that had happened, you settled down in one of the many hotels scattered throughout the area, wondering how you were going to find the Pirate Assassin in a place like this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Next Day... *BZZZT *BZZZT A groan escaped your mouth as your phone interrupted you from the precious sanctuary of sleep. Reaching out for it on the nightstand, you discovered that the number was blocked. Cautiously, you answered the phone. "...Hello. Who am I speaking to," you began. "Ah, yes hello," said a familiar voice on the other end. "Sorry to wake you on this Godly hour of the night, but my associates and myself went over the data you recovered back at Abstergo. What you found was just perfect for our cause." It suddenly dawned on you that this was one of the people that added a twist to your job. "You wouldn't happen to be that guy that called me after that nut-job sage tried to kill me would you," you said. "Again we're sorry for that mess we put you through," said the voice of a woman who instantly reminded you that she was Rebecca and that the other one that was calling was Shaun. "We're getting off track here," said a third voice that was unrecognizable. "This man just discovered something that could change our very Brotherhood." "And who are you supposed to be," you replied. "You probably don't recognize my voice," he said. "But you will when I say that I'm the father of Desmond." "No way," you said in disbelief. "I'm terribly sorry for what happened." "It's in the past," he replied with a wave of his hand. "But it seems that the past has come to the present." "What he means by that is your Kenway pal somehow arrived in the 21st Century," Shaun cut in. "And if the data we've 'retrieved' from your Animus is valid, then he currently holds one of the Pieces of Eden we need. Now then we need your help to find out where he is, and bring him to a secure location. Oh, and sorry in advance." "What for," you said. "The possibility of getting caught by a bloodthirsty team of Templars, if you choose to join our merry band." With nothing to lose, you shrugged and said, "What the Hell. Let's go find ourselves a Pirate." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few hours later in the morning found you riding in the back of a white van with Shaun, Rebecca, and Mr. Miles down to the south eastern part of New York. As the time ticked away, you couldn't help but glance out one of the windows towards the rushing countryside. The trees whizzing by the speeding vehicle cleared your mind as the realization kicked in. You were helping Assassins reclaim a powerful artifact that was in the hands of a 18th Century Pirate. Eventually your team had to stop for gas in some fairly populated town. Getting out of the van to stretch your legs, you found a sign that said, "Welcome to Canterlot City". "Who names their town Canterlot," You said to yourself. But that wasn't the only thing that caught your eye. Beyond the buildings and houses towards the horizon, there flew a flag that flew out of place in the sky. It was black as night with a skull in the center, surrounded by a symbol that you've grown accustomed to. "Uh guys," you said to your comrades with a hint of fear in your voice. "I know where he is." The gang immediately rushed to your position and asked you where. "...He's here. In Canterlot City." To Be Continued... > Chapter 8: An old Friend Returns > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 8: An old Friend Returns (written by chrisharte97 and edited by yours truly) “Mary?!” Edward exclaimed in udder surprise as he rubbed his eyes thinking that this was an illusion. “Is that really you?” “Believe it Kenway it is truly me,” Mary replied to him. “But how the Bloody Hell is this possible?” the Pirate Assassin asked his old friend still in a state of surprise. “Shouldn’t you be dead?” “Aye, I should have been truly dead. But I was somehow given a second chance,” the British woman replied to her friend. “I guess there are some times a point in your life where it can start to become strange.” ‘Just like what is happening to my life right now,’ Edward thought to himself as he started to calm down a little just enough so he could introduce his old friend to his daughter. “Mary, this is my daughter Jennifer,” he said to her. “Jenny this is my old friend Mary Reed.” “It is very nice to meet you Miss Reed,” Jenny greeted waving her hand. “And you too Jenny,” Mary greeted the little girl. “Your father has told me a lot about you and your mother.” “Have you father," she asked him in surprise. “Of course I have Jenny,” Edward replied to his daughter as he remembered that he didn’t tell Mary much about his family. “So Kenway, What do ya’ say we catch up on what has happened after we parted?” Mary asked him coming to his side putting a hand on his shoulder. “I think we should,” Edward nodded as the three of them walked into the city. “So what actually happened when you got here?” he asked his old friend. “Well, when I got here everything around was more modern than back in our time,” the female Assassin started to explain as they were walking down the path. “So I had noticed a shop and thought that I could find out where I was. She replied to me that I was in ‘Canterlot City’.” “So Canterlot City is the name of this city,” the Pirate Assassin said looking around the city while they continued walking down the path. “That’s right Kenway,” Mary nodded. “When I was about to leave the shop when six young girls came in, one had red and yellow striped hair, the others had either pink, blue, blond, rainbow, purple and a brighter pink colored hair." Flashback... Mary was about to leave the shop when six girls came walking in. One with pink hair noticed the female Pirate Assassin and suddenly blurted out, "Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie are you new here to Canterlot City?” as she shook her hand very quickly. “I… Um…” Mary tried to say after the girl known as Pinkie Pie let go of her hand and was shaken by that hand shake. “M-my… Name is… M-Mary R-Reed.” “Forgive our friend Pinkie Pie Miss Reed,” the girl with purple hair said to her. “She is just hyper. My name is Rarity by the way, it’s nice to meet you.” “And to you as well Miss Rarity,” Mary said to her. “And the rest of you are…” “My names Applejack,” the blond haired girl greeted as she shook the female Pirate Assassin’s hand. “It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Reed.” “I’m called Sunset Shimmer,” the girl with red and yellow striped hair said. “It is nice to meet you Miss Reed.” “The name is Rainbow Dash,” the rainbow haired girl greeted. “And I’m Fluttershy,” the bright pink haired girl said to her quietly in a way that she was shy. “It’s nice to meet you all,” Mary greeted to them. “But I must go find a job here.” “Well it would appear that you been sailing the seas all your life,” Rarity commented. “Have you?” “Aye, I have,” she replied to the purple haired girl. “Is there a dock here in Canterlot city?” “There sure is one,” Applejack replied to her. “We can show you where it is, if you want help finding the way there Miss Reed.” Mary thought for moment seeing if she should require their help at all, but she knew that she didn’t know this city well so she then replied to them, “That would be nice, thank you,” as she followed the six girls down the road towards the city harbor. End Flashback… “So they led me here to the city harbor where I am now making some good and honest money for the past few months,” Mary finished as she, Edward and Jenny were still walking towards the local cafe. “Well, they sound like nice girls,” Edward said to his old friend. “They sure are,” she nodded as they finally reached their destination. “Here we are, this is Sugarcube Corner,” she then opened the door for Edward and his daughter. “Come now, I’ll buy you two a drink,” the Kenway duo then followed Marry inside the cafe. “Ah… Miss Reed, how nice to see you again,” the woman with moderate raspberry and pale, light greyish raspberry hair greeted. “Who are these two with you?” “Tis nice to see you too Mrs. Cake and this my old friend Edward Kenway and his daughter Jennifer,” Mary greeted to her as she introduced her old friend and his daughter to the the owner of the shop. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Cake," Edward greeted her. "You too Mr. Kenway," Mrs. Cake said to the Pirate Assassin. "So, what can I get you three?" "I think I'll take a Strawberry Smoothie please," Mary replied. "Kenway?" "I think I'll try the same," Edward said as he then turned to his daughter. "And what about you Jenny?" Jenny thought for a moment before asking Mrs. Cake, "Umm... What kind of drinks do you have here Mrs. Cake?" "We have Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate and Vanilla smoothies, water and some lemonade Jenny," Mrs. Cake replied to the little girl. "I think I'll take a Vanilla smoothie please," Jenny decided. "Okay, two Strawberry smoothies and a Vanilla smoothie," Mrs. Cake said. "So that will be five dollars please." Mary then gave to cafe owner the five dollars. As Mrs. Cake took the money she said, "Thank you, your drinks will be ready in a second." "Thank you," Mary said to her as she lead Edward and Jenny to a table. "Come, have a seat," she said to them as they joined at the table. "It seems that this place is more peaceful than the time we were in," Edward said to his old friend as the door opened. They looked at the door way and there was not just Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer, but also another white skinned person and it was a boy wearing a black cloak, white and blue sweater, shoes and pants and a blue mask. "Hello girls," Mary said to them as they turned to look at her with smiles. "Hey there Mary," Applejack greeted the female Pirate Assassin as she noticed Edward and Jenny. "Who are your friends?" "Girls, this is my old friend Edward Kenway and his daughter Jennifer," Mary said introducing the girls to her old friend and his daughter. "Kenway, these are the girls I've told you about." “It’s nice to meet you Mr. Kenway,” Rarity greeted Edward. “And you too Ms. Rarity,” Edward said taking white girl’s hand and kissed it. Rarity blushed at this and said with a giggle, “Oh you are such a gentleman.” as she took her hand back. “Yeah, he has his way with women,” Mary stated, Edward chuckling in response. “Um… Hi there Jenny, it nice to meet you,” Fluttershy greeted to the young lady. “My name is Fluttershy.” “It is nice to meet you too Ms. Fluttershy,” Jenny said shaking the yellow girl’s hand gently. "So, who is your friend?" Mary asked the girls. "I never seen him before." "My name is White Lance Ms. Reed. I am Sunset Shimmer’s girlfriend," the boy replied to the female Pirate Assassin in an English accent as Sunset Shimmer blushed in embarrassment. "It is a pleasure to meet you in person." "And to you as well White Lance," she said to him shaking his hand. "You must be new here to Canterlot City." "No I have lived here for at least a year before you showed up," he said as he turned to Edward and Jenny. "So, you must be Edward Kenway, it is nice to meet you." "Likewise," Edward said to him shaking the white boy's hand. White Lance noticed that Jenny was looking at him with a frightened, but said to her kindly, "It's alright Jenny, I won't hurt you." as he held out his hand to her. Jenny felt much better after she reached out and touched White Lance's hand. “See little Jenny?” White Lance smiled to the little girl. “I won’t hurt you.” Jenny then smiled back. Just then, Mrs. Cake arrived with the smoothies that Mary, Edward, and Jenny ordered and said to them, "Here you go two strawberry smoothies and a vanilla smoothie." "Thank you Mrs. Cake," Mary thanked as Mrs. Cake passed out the smoothies to them. “You’re welcome,” she said as walked back to the counter leaving the three with the others. “Hey, Sunset,” White Lance said to his girlfriend. “We have to meet up with Captain Planet, Indigo, and Mystery Mint for practice.” “Oh yeah! Nice meeting you again Mary, and meeting you to Edward and Jenny,” Sunset Shimmer said to the three. “To you as well Miss Shimmer,” Edward said as both the red and yellow haired girl and white skinned boy walked out of cafe. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile… Twilight was in her library desperately looking through all of her books trying to find a spell allowing her to find Edward and Jenny. She had been relentlessly doing this ever since her return to Equestria. "Ugh... Where is it, where is it!?" the lavender Alicorn said scrolling through the pages of one of her books with her magic. "The spell should be in one of these books, I just have to find it." “You okay there Twi?” Spike asked looking at her with a concern in his reptilian eyes. “No, I’m trying to find the book that has the spell which will allow me to find where Edward and Jenny are,” Twilight groaned dropping the book on to the floor as she layed on her back and covered her face with her hooves in defeat. “But I just can’t find it.” The purple Dragon walked up to her as he said to her, “I’m sure we’ll find a way to find them. We just have to be patient.” The lavender Alicorn started crying just as she and Spike heard a knock on the door and she said to who was at the door, “*Sniff* C-come in.” The door opened and there stood Zecora, who upon seeing the disheveled Twilight on the floor, gave pause in concern for her friend. She set her saddlebag and staff down next to the door, and went over towards Spike to help comfort the crestfallen mare. "Pray tell, Twilight," she began, while gently lifting her chin to have the Alicorn look upon the zebra's face. "What is the problem that gives you endless plight?" While whipping away the leftover tears on her cheeks, Twilight replied, "Oh... *Sniff* Hello Zecora, I... Well, I'm just looking for something to help me find some friends." “Ah, the two who you made friends, are surprisingly just around a bend,” the Zebra said. “W-what do you mean by that Zecora?” the Alicorn mare asked getting up slowly. “To the mirror you have to go,” Zecora said simply. “There, more you will know.” “The mirror?” Twilight asked as the zebra walked out the library. ‘Maybe Edward and Jenny are on the other side of the magic mirror.’ Then she remembered something that may have an effect on getting to Edward and Jenny. "But the Magic Mirror can't open until another few moons," she gasped feeling that she may have to wait until she can see Edward and Jenny again. She fell back down to the floor and began to cry again. “Don’t worry Twilight,” Spike said trying to reassure her. “I’m sure we can find a way to go through the mirror soon.” Twilight then got back up and said to him, “Well, I think that I’ll have to wait for twenty-seven moons to see them again.” Feeling really depressed she slowly walked up to her room thinking that she may never see Edward again, unaware that fate had a curveball ready to bring the two back together again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Back with Edward… As Edward and his daughter were given a tour of the city by Mary’s new friends, he was still thinking of Twilight and how he and Jenny were going to reunite with her. “And here is Canterlot High,” Applejack said to the Pirate Assassin showing him and his daughter the school. He looked straight at the school seeing the size of building. “Oh, this is very impressive,” he said sounding like he was somewhat amazed by the school. “And you five go to this school?” “Why of course darling,” Rarity replied to him. “It is the best high school in this city.” Just then three girls came up to them; one was was white like Rarity and White Lance, but had pink and light purple hair, another was yellow with red hair, and the other was orange with a much more pinkish purple. “Rarity, can you and Applejack help us with our homework please?” the white one asked Rarity. “Oh, I’m sorry Sweetie Belle,” Rarity replied to her sadly. “We’re busy show some friends of Mary Reed’s here around the city right now.” She then turned to Edward and Jenny and said, “Edward, Jenny, this is my little sister Sweetie Belle, Applejack’s little sister Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo. Girls this is Mary’s friend Edward Kenway and her daughter Jennifer.” “It is a pleasure to meet you three girls,” Edward greeted the three young women. “And you too Mr. Kenway,” Apple Bloom said to him as she noticed Jenny was hiding behind him shyly. “Hi there Jennifer.” “It’s okay Jenny,” Edward reassured to his daughter. “You can say hello.” Jenny appeared from behind her father looking at the girls which were about the same age as her and greeted, “H-hello there, it’s nice to meet you three.” “And you too Jennifer,” Sweetie Belle said kindly. “Will you be joining our school today?” Jenny looked up at her father and Edward did the same thing to her, but after a few seconds of starring at each other, Edward replied for his daughter, “Aye, I believe she will be attending your school for now.” “Then may I suggest you go and see Principle Celestia about that, if she can make that possible that is,” Fluttershy said to them. "You can find her in the Main Office." "Very well then," Edward nodded as he and Jenny walked into the school a right there was a sign that said 'Main Office' he then opened the door noticing another white skinned woman with a pastel spectrum of green, purple, pink and blue was looking at some papers. "Excuse me," the Pirate Assassin commented to her as the woman looked at him and his daughter. "Oh hello there," she greeted to them. "Can I help you two?" "Are you Principle Celestia by chance?" Edward asked. "That is my name," she replied. "I would like to enlist my daughter Jennifer here into your school, if it’s possible," the Pirate Assassin requested as his daughter appeared behind him. "Of course Canterlot High is always accepting new students," the principle of the school nodded handing out a piece of paper to Edward. "Has she ever attended school before?" “Yes miss,” Jenny replied. “Though it was cut short in favor of reuniting with my father.” The principle nodded in understanding, and began to look through a few papers on her desk. She then paused while looking at the calendar and said, “I’m so sorry sir, but I can’t enlist her this late in the school year.” “Oh,” Jenny sighed sadly. “That’s too bad. I would’ve liked to learn from this place.” Celestia then put on a friendly smile and replied, “However, feel free to join in our upcoming events. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed by this school’s talent.” “Thank you again miss,” Edward replied. “It was my pleasure to speak with you,” she replied. “And let me be the first to welcome you to Canterlot City.” > Chapter 9: Serenade of the Sea Devils > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile... These past few days in this city had transformed you into one with the locals. Everyone was relatively friendly with both you and your comrades, but they seemed to hide some sort of secret that only a select few knew. You thought about questioning a few people on this matter, but you decided it was best for you to respect their privacy. You were brought out of your musings by Rebecca grasping your shoulder saying, “It’s time, initiate.” You nodded in understanding. Thanks to this surprising turn of events, one that seemed even the big-wigs of Abstergo wasn’t ready for, all of the Initiates were tuned in to await the next move. Which meant your team would need to recover the Piece of Eden before it fell into the wrong hands. But since is was in the hands of an assassin out of his own time period, all of you now needed to tread extra carefully in order to recover the apple. “Remind me again of what I must do,” you said, as the rest of the gang prepared for the rest of the day. “Well, seeing as how you’re eager to get started, lets recap,” Shawn replied. “All four of us are going to, for lack of a better term, ask around the town if they’ve seen any hooded pirates taking leisurely strolls down their streets.” You raised an eyebrow in confusion. “That’s it,” you questioned. “I know its not our most exciting of plans,” he winced. “But its all we’ve got to go on.” You shake your head in disbelief. “Then what are we waiting for,” you declared. “Lets go find an Assassin.” Elsewhere... One week had passed since Edward was reunited with his old friend, and in that time since he recounted the tales of his adventure to her new friends. Word around town had reached his ears that a festival of music was being held by Canterlot High in the next few days. As he walked down one of Canterlot City’s many streets leading towards the school, he came across a strange site that puzzled the former pirate. Three women were striding down the same road to his destination at the school. But what puzzled Kenway the most was that they gave off a distinct air of trouble. Pausing to make sure they didn’t see him, he ducked into some nearby bushes, and gazed at them with his Eagle Vision. What he saw made his blood go cold. “What in God’s name are they,” he whispered to himself. Before he could comprehend what he saw, the apparent leader of the group suddenly stopped. She turned her gaze towards every possible direction, confirming if they weren’t being followed. One of the other ladies asked rather impatiently why they stopped. The leader then shook her head, and continued to walk down the street to the school. Edward knew that if he didn’t warn his friends soon, they would fall victim to these “monsters in broad daylight”. So by the time the three ladies walked out of his peripheral vision, he ran to the nearest building and chased after the Dazzlings on the rooftops. He jumped from rooftop to rooftop, getting much closer to the school quicker than the mysterious trio with plans of invasion. Even though the modern terrain was vastly unfamiliar territory for the captain, his years of Assassin skills paid off in the end with getting Edward to the school first. By the time he reached the main entrance, his Eagle Vision reminded him that he had several minutes before the trio arrived. Without hesitation, he raced through the doors, seeking out his new-found friends before it was too late. Elsewhere... White Lance and Sunset Shimmer were still practicing with their fellow members of the band they dub 'the White Knights'. "Okay everyone," he said to them. "Are we ready?" "Yeah," Sunset nodded. "I'm ready," Indigo replied. "We're ready," Captain Planet replied as Mystery Mint nodded in response. White Lance had his White Star Guitar which he had since he discovered in the pony world underneath the capital city of Canterlot and in the old mines. Sunset was the co-singer with White Lance. Indigo had the drums, Captain Planet played his own guitar, and Mystery Mint played the base. The song they were about to play was a practice song, to see how the band would sound come showtime. (Begin song) (End Song) When their song was finished, White Lance smiled behind his mask. “Not bad everyone, not bad,” he said to them. “Did we do that good?” Mystery Mint asked. The white teenager nodded to her in response. “I think we did great,” Sunset said to them but still felt hesitant around the three. Even after all this time, she still remembered the incident with Twilight’s crown and feared that one day her new friends would leave her and White Lance. But White Lance managed to talk them into forming a band with him and Sunset and if he said that she could regain their trust, she believed that he was telling her the truth. He had always been close to Sunset Shimmer ever since they met each other in Canterlot. “Okay guys, one more song, and then we can stop for the day,” White Lance said to them as the band got ready to practice another song. All the others besides White Lance didn’t seem to pay much attention to Sunset’s grief. But what they did know was that they needed her trust and in return she needed to trust them, so this band of friends could last. Just then, there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” White Lance said to whoever was at the door and it was Edward. “Ah, Edward, it’s great to see you again. Is there something you need?” “Aye, there is,” the Pirate Assassin replied to him. “I need your help to find the others. Do you know where they are?” “Well, Rarity texted that she and Fluttershy were busy at the pet store. Rainbow Dash is at her place practicing with her new guitar,” the red and yellow haired teenager replied. “Applejack is back at her farm. I don’t know where Pinkie is though.” “Your daughter is with Apple Bloom and the others,” White Lance cut in. “And Mary is at her hotel.” “Do you think you can gather them at the school entrance?” he requested. “Of course Edward,” White Lance nodded as he turned to the others. “Okay guys, looks like we will have to cut practice short for now.” “Okay then White Lance,” Captain Planet said as he, Mystery Mint, and Indigo left the room. Sunset pulled out her cell phone and began texting to the others. Edward still had no idea how the people here wielded the unfamiliar technology they were using, but he would get used to it in time. ----------------------------------------------------------- At the entrance... When everyone had gathered together to hear of the coming danger Edward described, he recounted exactly what had happened prior to arriving. He told them everything he could about the intruders, from the uncomfortable feeling of dread that spread through his body, to the way they carried themselves, and to how they seemed to have a hidden history with this very city. Just as he was about to go into detail about their true forms that he wished was a hallucination, his Eagle Vision warned him that the trio was about to arrive at the school in one minute. “Get back into the school, make sure they don’t see you,” the Assassin warned. “I’m going to find out what they’re here for.” Everyone voiced their agreements, and split off back into their daily school routines as if the conversation never took place. Jenny wished her father good luck, and sped off with Mary who was returning back to her new home. By the time everyone had gone, Edward rushed over to a nearby closet to conceal his presence. Just as he left the door open to a crevice that would allow him to listen in on their conversation, the three devils that he encountered finally revealed themselves. The leader of the group had long bunched up orange hair and wore a purple and gold outfit that complimented and exaggerated her curves. To her left was a woman that had purple hair with teal highlights bunched together into two long ponytails. She wore an outfit that again complimented the way her body was shaped, but it also seemed like it was used to ward off anyone trying to get close to her. Finally the last one had blue and teal hair bunched together into one big ponytail, almost trying to look like a waterfall. She had on a purple and blue getup that Edward was unfamiliar with, but it made her seem like she was innocent. But the Assassin knew better. Each of them had their obvious differences in personality, especially when the leader started giving orders to look for someone to help guide them through the school. But the one thing they all seemed to share was a necklace on each of their necks with a dark ruby at the center. Just then, a student walked by that caught the attention of the three visitors. The leader then spoke, “Excuse me kind sir. Can you help us for a second?” The blue-haired teen, wanting to be polite to the visitors asked, “Sure. What do you three need?” “We are new to this school, and we’d like to get a feel for the place before we see the Principle about applying. Care to show us around?” “I’m so sorry,” the teen apologized. “But I got a class I have to go to real soon. However I can hook you three up with a friend of mine that would be happy to show you around.” She thanked him, and he raced down the hall to the Music Room. A few minutes later Sunset came into the fray, asked if the three were who she was supposed to see, and then led the trio down the hall on a spur of the moment tour of the school. Edward, making sure he hadn’t been seen, followed the group throughout the tour. For the majority of the time nothing too serious happened. Until the end where Sunset attempted to get a closer look at one of the necklaces, whereupon the leader, whose name was revealed to be Adagio, violently smacked her arm away from the ruby. A quick apology and hasty retreat later, Sunset quickly made her way to the Cafeteria. Alone again at last, or so they thought, the trio made silent plans to persuade the Principal to change the Spring Fling into a Battle of the Bands. Edward heard their plans, so a quick and quietly as he could, he raced to the offices to warn Celestia and Luna of the coming danger. But as he ran the Assassin knew deep down that something big was coming. Whatever it was would remain a complete mystery to him, for now he needed to stop those monsters at all costs.
