Prolouge - The Mad Life of Doctor Eggman

Dr. Eggman's Base May 1st, Unknown Year

Chaos Emeralds. That's all this mad scientist ever wrapped his life around. These 7 Emeralds with limitless power could finally rid him of the annoying hedgehog, Sonic, forever. He searched day in and day out, secretly hiding away in his hidden lab away from the world.

He could have chosen another path for his life to take. He didn't always want to make his Eggman Empire, he used to want to be a great man, like his father. That all changed to him when his grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnic, had used Chaos Control to transport them to Sonic's world.

Well, he didn't really cause Chaos Control. The emeralds just so happened to bring them all to that world accidentally when they first came together. His grandfather found these emeralds and used them to transport himself and Eggman's cousin, Maria back to their home world.

He could have been happy on this new planet. He went out and met with the creatures that inhabited this planet, but they were all afraid of him. They had never met a human before. No matter how hard Eggman tried, no one ever appreciated him for what he was.

He soon learned that the objects that brought him to this world held tremendous power. His grandfather accidentally sent them back when trying to power the eclipse back on their home world. These 7 objects held the power to do almost anything.

As Eggman grew older, he learned all he could about these emeralds. He eventually learned that a blue hedgehog named Sonic had the power to control these emeralds to do what he wanted them to do. He confronted this hedgehog one day and asked for his help to build a great new city.

Curiously, the hedgehog had asked him why he wanted this. When he heard this question, he didn't know what to think. So he came up with using the emeralds to create the most powerful city in the entire world.

The hedgehog refused. When Eggman asked him why, he simply got the answer that he shouldn't use these emeralds for his own gain. When he heard this, he didn't like the way he was being told. He replied that the emeralds could be used for anything, and that if he wouldn't help, he would do it himself.

The hedgehog still refused to give him the emeralds. This made the young doctor angry, and he marched off to build his empire. Unfortunately, no one wanted to join this empire of his, so he decided to force them to submit under his rule. He got himself into building robots for many various occasions and coincidences.

He had just released his robots onto the world to cause chaos, when a blue streak ran by and destroyed them all. When he looked in the direction of the attacker, he saw no one other than the blue hedgehog, who waved his finger at the doctor and ran off as fast as he came.

This angered Eggman even more. Every time he released robots to fight, they were destroyed before you could say lickity split. He eventually realized that the only way he could defeat the hedgehog, was with the 7 Chaos Emeralds.

He started gathering them as quick as he could. It took him months, but he finally found all the emeralds to power his ultimate machine.

It all would have gone as planned to, if it weren't for that meddling hedgehog. The last Chaos Emerald was with a girl named Cream. She refused to give it to him, so he kidnapped her and took the emerald by force. Sonic, however broke in and as he was causing Chaos Control, it instead sent him and Sonic's friends to the human world, thus the TV series, Sonic X.

When they finally returned from the other world, Dr. Eggman still searched for the emeralds. He found the first 6 fairly quickly, seeing as he had an IQ of over 300, so he claims.

Then, he found it. The 7th Chaos Emerald. He had searched for this last emerald for nearly a month now. He had been really sneaky, collecting the other 6.

Sad for him, he was too careless this time. He was on his way back to his base when he unexpectedly ran into that blasted blue hedgehog, who followed him nonstop, until they reached his secret base.

Eggman already had his entire machine set up. All he had to do was install the final emerald. He ran into trouble quickly as he flew into his base. Sonic had decided to hitch a ride with the good doctor.

Dr. Eggman knew about him latching on, due to the sudden shift in weight. He pretended not to notice, as he flew into his base. He had a trap for that hedgehog as soon as he landed.

As he did land, he put up a barrier, forcing Sonic to stay put in the small container.

"Eggman!" Sonic called through the glass, "What are you going to do with that emerald?"

"Why, its so nice of you to ask, Sonic," he called back. "Ever since those two lazy bone-brains went on vacation, I haven't had anyone to talk to about my evil schemes.

"You see Sonic, this machine is very much like the one that sent us all to the human world a few months ago. It was originally supposed to amplify the energy of all my machines, but thanks to you, it broke and sent us to another world. But now that I have you secured, there is no way you can interfere with my superior genius!"

Dr. Eggman began to laugh maniacally to himself. He laughed for so long, he didn't notice a rouge robot enter the room. The robot immediately noticed Sonic, unaware that he was trapped in a bulletproof case.

"Identification process complete. Subject identified as Sonic the Hedgehog. Must eliminate"

Dr. Eggman stopped laughing when he heard the new noise. "What are you doing?" he asked as the robot aimed its gun at Sonic. "No! Don't shoot! Stop!"

The defected Robot didn't listen to its master, and instead, fired. The bullets went strait at Sonic. The hedgehog jumped to avoid them, but found his efforts pointless when the bullets bounced right off his prison. The bullets then went strait for the energy amplifier 2.0, causing it to malfunction, and once again, cause Chaos Control.

Chapter 1 - A New Planet

???

Sonic lay on a patch of grass. It was certainly soft to the touch. The hedgehog loved to just sit and sleep on a hill, or even just rest. Sleeping was second nature to him, right behind running.

He awoke to an open sky above him. Few clouds protected the ground from the sun's light. There were several leaves flying through the air, which Sonic assumed were from a nearby tree.

He sat up to get a look at his surroundings. It was a certainly nice field he was on. Flat, soft, and only slightly bumpy from the hills and rocks.

"Nice place," he said. "But, where exactly am I? This certainly isn't Doctor Eggman's base, and most certainly isn't Mobius. I've been everywhere on Mobius, and I've never been here."

He stood to get a better view of where he was. The trees and the sky were certainly like what they were on Mobius, but they were never here before. (Wherever here was.)

"Maybe I went back to Chris's world," he thought aloud. "I haven't traveled everywhere on Earth. Too much water for my taste. Then again, wouldn't I have ended up in the city again?" He shook his head. "No. Eggman moved his base, so that would mean we would have ended up in a different place. But if this isn't close to the city, where am I?"

"Hey you!" a voice called behind him. "What the heck are you?"

Sonic turned to see a cyan... horse? What made this creature even stranger, was the fact that it had a rainbow mane. There was nothing else that could have made the noise, so he asked: "Are you the one that asked that question?"

"Yes I was," it replied. "Now what in the land of Equestria are you?"

"I'm a hedgehog."

"No your not."

Sonic flinched at that statement. "What makes you say that?"

"My friend takes care of almost every kind of animal, including hedgehogs. I've never seen a hedgehog that looks like you, or even one that could talk."

"Well, you horse. Believe to or not, but I am a hedgehog."

"I'm not a horse!" the cyan... thing said. "I am a pony! A pegasus at that!"

Upon hearing the word 'pegasus,' Sonic looked on the... pony's back to see a pair of cyan wings. "Well, I come to a world filled with talking ponies," Sonic mumbled to himself. "I really hate him sometimes. I wanted a rest from all that happened."

"Who are you talking to?" the pony asked.

"No one, now please leave me alone." Sonic began to walk off.

"Hold on! I'm not done talking to you!"

"Well I'm done listening."

"Nopony just walks out on me like that!" she screamed. Suddenly, she appeared in front of Sonic, who flinched at her sudden appearance. "Just who do you think you are, mister?!"

"I think that I am me," he replied. He walked around her. "Now if you would plea-"

She appeared in front of him again. "You are going to answer my questions!"

"And who's going to make me? You?" He walked around her once again, this time giving a small jog. He got a little further away before she came in front of him again. "Your pretty quick."

"I'm not called the fastest flyer in Equestria for nothing!" she boasted.

Equestria, huh? he thought. I'm going to have to remember that. Also, definitely not on Chris's world. "I see that you also won't leave me alone. If you stop now, I'm not going to embarrass you with that title."

"You calling for a race?"

"Is there anything else I might want to challenge?"

"What are the rules?"

"First to get to the top of the next hill over there," he pointed a finger to a slightly larger hill a little ways away, "is the winner."

"All right then," she agreed. "You ready to lose, hedgehog?"

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch," Sonic replied.

"When do we start?"

"You can start whenever you wish," he said before taking a seat.

"You're just going to sit there?"

"No, I'm going to give you a head start. I feel like you're going to need it."

"You really don't know who I am, do you?"

"What was your first hint? Now hurry and start. I'll meet you over there."

"If you really feel that confident, then I'm going!" she said before taking off. Right before she reached the hill, she turned to see where the hedgehog might be. She saw him standing at the starting line. "Are you really just going to stand there?" she called to him. "I've seen snails move faster than you!"

"Snails move faster than me?" a cocky voice behind her spoke. "I haven't heard that before."

She turned to see the blue hedgehog standing at the sop of the hill they were racing to. "How did you get up here so fast?" she asked.

"I ran," he replied. "You don't know who I am, do you?"

"No, and I want another race!" She searched her surroundings until she saw a huge mountain. "First to the top of that mountain over there wins!"

"You're on!" he accepted. "However, you won't get a head start this time!"

"Whoever said I needed it?"

"On three then?"

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"GO" they both screamed.

Chapter 2 - A New, Speedy Friend

Field Not To Far Outside Ponyville May 1st 1001

As soon as the countdown ended, Rainbow Dash took of before you could say noodles. The blue hedgehog didn't know who he was racing. That didn't matter. Whether he knew her or not, she was not going to let him win this race. for in this race, she had the advantage.

The race was to the top of the mountain about five miles away from their position. Rainbow could easily fly strait there and not have to worry about a huge vertical clime like that hedgehog did.

HA! she laughed to herself. That hedgehog doesn't stand a chance at getting there before me! He may be a little slippery to sneak behind me, but he still isn't the fastest thing around!

The sky was certainly clear today. This made it slightly easier because she would be able to see where she was going all the time. She would also be able to see where that hedgehog was almost all the time.

She looked down to see where he might have been. All she saw was a sudden blue streak run into the trees, making it impossible to see where it went. What the hay was that? That couldn't have been the hedgehog, could it?

She saw the blue streak come out of the other side of the trees not two seconds later. If that's him, he's FAST! No matter. I'll just have to go faster! She flew strait into the sky. Once she believed that she was high enough, she did a 180 and flew strait at the ground. There is nothing faster than this! Prepare, hedgehog! Here comes the Sonic Rainboom!

'Equestria' Unknown Date

Sonic took off at a slightly slower pace than normal. This pegasus didn't stand a chance if he went as fast as he could right off the start.

"This is going to be fun!" he said to himself. "Just like the times I had with Sam!"

He ran into a small clump of trees, preventing him from running in a strait line. "No problem!" He ran to the left, then the right. Trees spaced out like this were no match for Sonic's agility.

He exited the trees not to long afterwards. He looked up to see the cyan pegasus flying strait into the air. "What's she doing?" he asked himself. He then saw her turn around and fly strait at the ground beneath her. "She's going to hurt herself!" He skidded to a halt and ran strait at the point she was going to hit.

I'm not going to make it! He saw a small shield-like thing form around her front hooves. Sonic's eyes widened at what he saw. She can't do that, can she?

The shield thing turned into a point as she became faster and faster. He closed his eyes at what he believed would have happened.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

He opened his eyes at the sound that erupted from nowhere. He saw a large ring of multiple colors fly in a circle outward from where the rainbow-manned pegasus was headed. He also saw a rainbow form directly from the center of the explosion. At the tip of the rainbow, he saw a slight glimpse of cyan flying out and leaving the trail behind it.

"Oh, she wants to have a little fun, does she? Well, she's got fun!"

Back To Rainbow Dash

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

The explosion was nothing new to Rainbow. She always did it for special occasions, when she needed to, and for fun! She tried to do this once a week for she needed to practice often. She looked behind her and saw the familiar rainbow following her every move.

"Yes! Now who is going to win this race!" She looked down at where the hedgehog was. With wide eyes, she realized that he was speeding up. He was nearly just as fast as she was! "This is impossible! Nopony is faster than me!"

Her thoughts turned back to the top of the mountain. "Doesn't matter now. He still has a vertical climb while I can just fly! He's lost this race!"

Sonic

"When probably thinks the mountain will slow me down," he said to himself. "Well, she certainly is in for a surprise!"

His feet sped up instead of slowing down when he went strait at the mountain. When he reached the base, he jumped and started running even faster up the side of the cliff. He looked at the rainbow that was ascending at a vertical angle toward the top of the mountain.

"Now we get serious!" he said. He sped up even more, creating something he nearly did every day back on Mobius.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM

Another explosion erupted as Sonic once again broke the sound barrier. His speed increased and he flew strait into the air once he came to the top of the mountain.

"Yeah! Aha ha!" he yelled as he spun repeatedly in the air. He turned to see the cyan pegasus standing at the top of the mountain below him. Still spinning, he began to fall back down to the mountain. He gracefully landed directly on his feet when he reached the mountain. He turned to the pegasus. "Best three out of five?" he asked.

"H- How did you do that?" she asked. "Nopony in the world is faster than me!"

"You just answered your own question," he replied, making her tilt her head in curiosity. "I am nopony."

The cyan pegasus chuckled. "You win this round, but next time I'm not holding back."

"Neither am I. My name's Sonic, by the way. Sonic the Hedgehog."

"I'm Rainbow Dash."

"Nice to meet you, Miss Dash." He held out his hand to shake, which she took and shook with her hoof. His eyes widened in shock as he just realized something. "Oh, no! I need to get back home as soon as possible!"

"What's the rush?" Rainbow asked. "You clearly just got here."

"Yes, and I need to get me and someone else back to where we came from before it happens again!"

"Who's that?"

"You don't need to concern yourself with that information. I need to find him before he gets an idea going."

Rainbow was about to ask another question, but Sonic didn't bother sticking around to hear what she had to say. He quickly chose a direction and ran. Eggman! Where are you!

???

"Oh, what hit me?"

Doctor Eggman was lying on the floor with several pieces of machinery lying all around him. He brought his right hand up to his head as he brought himself up while holding a metal bar above him with his other hand. His glasses were slightly cracked from what they endured. He turned his head to the left, and then to the right.

"Where am I?" he asked himself. "Hmm. It seems like I'm still in the control room of the energy amplifier 2.0." He turned to where the cage that held Sonic, in what seemed like moments before, was empty. "Great. Chaos Control happens, and I just brought Sonic and me into another world. Better find out where I am."

He turned toward a nearby computer on a desk. Turning the screen back on, he tried to find any satellite there might be in the sky. What the results told him was not satisfying. "No signal? How can there be no signal? This is one of the best pieces of technology on the galaxy that can find the smallest signal hundreds of miles away from the planet it's on, and it can't find a single signal? Where in the universe am I?"

Now completely awake, he quickly ran to another computer and brought up a screen of the outside world. His base was in some kind of desert, devoid of any life. "Well that explains where I am, but it doesn't explain how there are signals within range." He tried to zoom in on anything, but the function for that was broken. "Hmm. This needs to be repaired. The quicker the better. Until then, I'll just have to lie low and out of any creature's way that might be inhabiting this planet."

With that, he began to work. The air conditioning system would certainly be the first thing to be fixed. After all, our good doctor is in a desert.
