Third Person POV

“Twilight, are you sure this is safe?”

The purple unicorn glanced over at her pegasus friend, nodding in excitement. “Of course! I wouldn’t be asking for your help if it wasn’t!” She turned back to her book, rereading the spell for the thirteenth time. “Okay, Fluttershy, this spell will analyze your appearance and then generate a duplicate in the form of a velveteen figure.”

Fluttershy tilted her head to the side, confused. “...I'm sorry, Twilight, but what does that mean?”

Twilight sighed, pausing to think of a simpler way to put it. “It makes a plush toy that looks exactly like you.”

“Oh. That makes sense.” Fluttershy smiled softly, blushing a bit from embarrassment.

“Now, if you would please stand over there,” she motioned to an area near the table where her book was resting, “we can get started.”

The shy pegasus slowly moved where she was told, nervously peeking out at her friend from behind her pink mane. “R-ready.”

Twilight nodded, closing her eyes and focusing. Her horn glowed purple, a ribbon of light emerging and encircling Fluttershy.

She watched as it slowly formed a cocoon around her body, slightly worried. However, she trusted her friend, so she said nothing.

Twilight could feel when the spell eventually encased Fluttershy snugly in its ribbon-cocoon. She sighed, relaxing a bit as she felt the spell begin analyzing her friend’s appearance.

There was a loud boom outside, catching Twilight off-guard. She panicked, her eyes starting to glow white, losing control of her magic.

Fluttershy squeaked inside of her cocoon, trying to raise her voice enough to be heard. “T-Twilight, is this-”

Her voice was cut off by a bright flash, and then...silence.

Twilight blinked her eyes open, dazed after having regained control. She looked over at her friend and froze, horrified. “No. Nononononono. This can’t be happening!” Where her friend once was, there was...nothing.

Fluttershy was gone.

Second Person (Pony?) POV

You awoke with a small groan, placing a hoof on your head. “Twilight, I don’t think your spell worked.” You glanced around for your friend, but couldn’t find her. “...Twilight?”

You weren’t in Twilight’s house anymore. In fact, you’re pretty sure you weren’t in Equestria anymore. All you knew is that you were in a dark forest. Everything was how you would have expected it to be, but the plants – there was something wrong here. They shouldn’t be towering over you like this, right? Especially that dandelion - it was almost up to your nose!

You wandered around, trying to find your way out of the oversized woods. Soon enough, you come across a wide, pitch-black river. You cautiously peered into it, hoping that it wasn’t very deep. And why couldn’t you see your reflection?

Suddenly, you felt something land on your haunches. You almost leaped out of your skin in surprise. Looking behind you, you saw that it was...a maple leaf. Granted, it was a large leaf, but it was embarrassing all the same. You looked down, seeing your front hooves on the river - wait, on it?

You double checked, but there was no mistaking it. Your hooves were resting on top of the black river. They weren’t sinking into it at all. “It’s solid?” You tapped it a few times, deciding that it was, indeed, solid.

That’s when you noticed the line along your foreleg. Glancing over the rest of your body, you found a few more, though they were almost invisible. "...this can't be happening...how could...why..."

Your head swam, trying to make sense of all this, when a loud, angry bark brought your attention to a large dog in front of you. It was staring at you - and it seemed hungry.

“Nice doggie...” It took a step forward, growling at you. You realized then that there was no way to get this dog to like you as anything but a chew toy. You frantically looked around, scared. “Help!”

Third Person (Pony? Nah, I’m going to stick with person) POV

A young man walked down the road, his silver hair swaying slightly in the breeze. He took off his glasses, rubbing the bridge of his nose and groaning softly. “I am never letting those girls practice on my hair again.” He sighed, looking up at the full moon. “I’m glad I got out of there before they decided to put makeup on me...or worse.” He shook his head, putting his glasses back on. He smirked, thinking out loud. “At least I finally have time to watch the latest episode of-”

“Help!”

He blinked, looking down the path. Without thinking, he rushed forward, trying to find the person who said that. Seeing no one, he decided that it was another one of those voices he imagines almost constantly.

He was about to continue his walk when he saw a large bulldog growling at a yellow plush toy. Thanks to the light of the moon, he could tell that the dog seemed to be a stray that had been abused at one point in its life, covered in scars and missing patches of fur. The plushie was partially hidden under a bush, so he couldn't really tell what it was. For some reason he couldn't possibly fathom, he rushed over and placed himself between them. “Hey! Leave that alone!”

It looked up at him, startled, glancing at the toy once more before running off.

He sighed, slowly moving over to the plush toy. He carefully picked it up, quickly examining it for any cuts. Finding nothing of the sort, he smiled, nodding a bit. “It seems you’re alright now, my little-” He blinked, suddenly recognizing the shape of the plushie. “...pony?”

That’s when a drop of water hit his glasses. He looked up, seeing rainclouds and an approaching storm. “Well, buck!” Without hesitating, he opened up his jacket and put the toy inside, frowning slightly. “I can’t leave you out here...” He rushed home, gently cradling the yellow plushie’s head.

If he had looked closely, he would’ve noticed a small blush on its cheeks.

Soon enough, he was at the door to his dorm room, the name “Allen” written on a piece of paper (in a sloppy manner) and pinned onto the corkboard on the door. Under it, written in a curly, fanciful manner, was the name “Selena”. He opened the door and gently placed the yellow pegasus plushie on his bed before moving to get his laptop.

He returned with the device in hand but paused, staring at the toy in surprise. He quickly tossed his laptop onto his bed and picked up the pegasus, smiling like a child at Christmas. “Oh my Celestia, it’s a Fluttershy plushie!” He gently cuddled it, beaming. “I can’t believe it!”

He pulled away, bringing it up to his face, examining it closely. “Wow, whoever made this has a great eye for detail!” He sat on his bed, carefully placing it on his lap. “They captured Fluttershy’s adorableness perfectly!” He paused, thinking out loud to himself. “...is that even a word?”

He shrugged, dismissing the thought. He opened up his laptop and turned it on while stroking the plushie’s mane gently. “Maybe I could show you some episodes of my favorite shows!” He chuckled to himself, typing in his password.

First Person (Screw it, she’s a pony, so I say Pony when it’s her) POV

I watched in confusion as this creature spoke at me. How could I even understand him? At least, I assume it’s a male. He was covered up too much for me to be able to tell.

I heard every word he said, though I was trying hard not to blush as he called me adorable. I was flattered, but I was also worried what he would do if he found out I was alive. Wait...how did he know my name? This was starting to get a little too confusing for me, though, thankfully, he did finally put me back down.

I watched as he messed with the device on the bed in front of me. I didn’t think whatever that was could be very interesting. Since he was behind me, I could look around his room...but wouldn’t that be...rude?

“Yay.”

My eyes widened in surprise, hearing my own voice come out of the thing in front of me. I watched as the screen went black before pulling up a drawing of...well, it looked kind of like me, if I was the same species as the creature behind me.

“Just let me finish a lab report real quick, and then we can watch some shows. Okay, ‘Shy?” He pet my head, and I could almost feel his smile.

“...okay...”

I couldn’t believe I just said that! I froze just before he picked me up, trying to keep myself from blinking as he looked into my eyes. He was...chuckling?

“Heh, I have a pretty active imagination! I could’ve sworn you had just talked!”

I let out a small sigh of relief, thankfully too quiet for him to hear. He set me back down on his lap, stroking my mane as he started to press buttons with one hoof...or, whatever that is.

I found my eyes slowly closing, starting to drift off from the soothing sensation of his hoof or whatever it is on my head. I’m sure I don’t snore, but I didn’t plan on falling asleep while he was still awake. I focused on a nearby wall, trying to find something to keep me awake.

I was honestly very shocked to see...well, a picture of me. It looked like it was taken when I was giving Angel an apple, but that wasn’t what surprised me. On it, written in a slow, careful script, were the words, “Fluttershy is a beautiful, more so than even Rarity. Not just because of how she looks, but also because of her caring heart and selfless soul.” The carefulness with which it was written was entirely unlike the paper on his door, but it was unmistakably the same handwriting. So that means...

I quickly tore my gaze away from it, trying to fight the blush growing on my cheeks. I couldn’t help but wonder how I, as a plush toy, was able to blush. Didn’t that require blood, or something?

I was thrown from that thought process as a diagram caught my eye. It seemed to be a dog, but it showed its skeletal structure. Looking around, I found that half of this room was covered with those posters. The other half had what looked to be designs for clothes, for whatever these creatures were.

It looked like the room was divided in half. One half, the half with the pictures and diagrams, was quite orderly. The other half, with the clothing designs, almost looked like Discord, himself, was living there, it was so messy. I involuntarily shuddered at the thought of that big dumb meanie.

Thankfully, the creature behind me didn’t notice. He was too busy with his...what is that, anyways? Some kind of window, or maybe a new form of typewriter? I quickly realized I was acting like Twilight, overanalyzing things.

I looked at the screen, reading a few of the words: “This reason is why humans should not decide the fate of the animal kingdom. The balance of nature is too precious for us to use even more land for ourselves.”

I hoped to Celestia he didn’t notice I was crying. That sentence was just too touching.

Suddenly, he stopped typing. I wondered why, but the answer quickly came when he moved me to the side and rushed over to what looked to be a bathroom. At least, that’s what I think it is, having just gotten a quick peek at the inside when he went through it.

As soon as it was closed, I stretched out my legs. It honestly was kind of painful to be standing still like that for so long. I hopped down from the bed, wondering what the person that shared this room with him was like.

Little did I know I was about to get my answer.

Third Person POV

A young woman slowly walked down the hall, sighing. Her uniform, a light yellow shirt with a pair of blue pants, was covered in the shed fur, hair and feathers of many animals. The pink butterflies that were the logo of the animal sanctuary she worked at were almost impossible to see.

“Stupid manager. I wish I didn’t have to work there.” She brushes a strand of her neon blue hair out of her eyes, grumbling quietly to herself as she unlocked the door to her dorm room. “Thinks he can make me feed the cheetahs, then lock me in as a ‘prank’. How stupid can you get!? I was almost mauled by that ferocious feline!”

The first thing she saw was a pegasus toy staring at her designs. If she didn’t know better, she would say that its eyes were moving. Oh my Luna...that thing just blinked! When the toy had its head turned away, she quietly moved to the doorway to the bedroom. She watched it for a few more moments before deciding to speak. “I take it you like them?”

The poor pony almost leaped out of her pelt, frozen in fear. She slowly turned to the towering human, eyes wide in panic. “...I...p-please don’t be mad at me...”

She laughed softly, shaking her head. “Why would I be? All you were doing was looking at my models. I’m just happy someone...er, somepony likes them!” She glanced at the bathroom door, annoyed. “Allen thinks I’m a fool for trying to be a fashionista.”

The plush toy looked up at her, smiling softly. “I think it’s great you’re following your dream.” She gently prodded a drawing on the floor with her hoof. “They actually remind me of my friend, Rarity...”

Her eyes widened in shock, staring straight at the plushie pegasus. “Wait, so you really are Fluttershy?” She carefully picked her up, placing her on her lap, an eyebrow slightly raised.

“...um, yes...” Fluttershy was definitely confused at this point. “...how do you know my name?”

She giggled, rubbing the back of her head. “I guess that’s a valid question. One sec...” She placed Fluttershy on her bed, grabbing the remote and turning on the LCD TV in front of the beds. “See, this is called a television. It allows us to watch cartoons, which are essentially moving drawings, and live-action shows, which aren’t really what we’re focusing on right now.”

At this point, she goes to the recordings, turning on an episode of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. “This is how I know your name, Fluttershy.” She motioned to the screen as it faded in, showing Fluttershy sitting in the waiting area of the spa, reading a magazine. The door burst open, Rarity rushing inside.

“So sorry, Fluttershy!”

Needless to say, as the show continued, Fluttershy’s jaw dropped lower and lower. “...wha...bu...I...” She blinked, seeing Spike beckoning Twilight and Pinkie closer to him. “...oh, no...I really shouldn’t listen to...” Her jaw dropped as he told them his secret. “...Spike has a crush...on Rarity?”

The show eventually got to the part where Twilight was trying to help her. She started to tear up, sniffing softly. “...my life...is nothing more than...somepony’s entertainment?”

She groaned to herself, pausing on a picture of Fluttershy and Rarity in the middle of making a Pinkie Promise. She carefully strokes Fluttershy’s mane, wanting to reassure her. “Fluttershy, you are more than that. You have a life, a deep personality, and a truly kind heart. People don’t just watch it because it’s on. We watch it because we love you and your friends!”

Fluttershy glanced over at the picture of her on the other wall, blushing softly. “...you...love us?”

“Yes, we do. Some of your fans even strive to be like you!” After a thought went through her head, she walked over to Fluttershy, politely holding a hand out. “I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Selena Wayne.”

Fluttershy carefully placed her hoof in Selena’s hand, letting her shake it. “...it’s nice to meet you, Selena.”

Selena smiled, but, before she could say anything more, the bathroom door opened, revealing the human that rescued the pegasus.

“Selena, who are you talking to?”

First Pony POV

Oh, no! What is Selena going to do? I froze in fear, panicking.

Selena glanced at me, then at the other human. She smiled, picking me up. “Hello, Allen. I was just playing around with this cute Fluttershy toy. I wanted to see how well I could mimic her voice.” She motioned to a device on her desk, giggling. “I was thinking of making a silly little YouTube series. What do you think?”

Allen looked like he was thinking about this. Personally, I was wondering what that YouTube thing was.

After a few seconds, he grinned, nodding his head. “I’d watch it!” He held up his hoof, extending one of those odd appendages attached to it. “Go for it, Catwoman!”

Selena blushed, turning her head away in what I can only assume is embarrassment. “You promised you wouldn’t call me that!” She faced him, a sly look on her face. “You wouldn’t want your nickname to go online, would you?” She then said the most embarrassing thing I could ever imagine. It was all I could do to not laugh.

He growled, his eye twitching slightly. “I knew I would regret telling you my middle name...”

“So, do we have an agreement?” She held her hoof out, smiling at him.

He stared at it for the longest time before sighing and shaking it. “Yeah, yeah...” He climbed into his bed, grumbling to himself.

Selena gave me what I think is a sly wink before picking me up. Moving to her bed, she gently placed me on a pillow and rolled over, facing away from me. Sighing softly, I closed my eyes, quickly falling asleep.
