> A New Stallion > by Ephraim Blue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prolouge - A Mind of Its Own > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A New Stallion By: Ephraim Blue Prolouge - A Mind of Its Own The TARDIS December 19th 2013 The Doctor was through with traveling. He was fed up with having to lose his companions. He lost Rose when she got stuck in another world. He lost Donna when she had to forget him, or her head would burn. And Martha, well she decided to leave, but he still lost her. And he just lost one of his more favorable companions just recently. Her name was Amelia Pond. She was a brilliant ginger, who loved traveling with The Doctor. She decided to be with her husband when he was forced to be sent back in time by a weeping angel. She allowed herself to be touched by the angel, so she could be with her husband, Rory until they both died. The Doctor could never forget those last words she spoke to him. "Raggedy man," his memory began to remember, "Goodbye." After that had happened, The Doctor gave up with helping the Earth with its problems. He just wanted to be left alone in the TARDIS with his books to read. He did occasionally came down from his cloud in the sky to look for new books, but other than that, he stayed put. The TARDIS didn't like this change in The Doctor at all. The TARDIS is a time machine, meant to travel to different times in the universe, and explore. With her being stuck here to do nothing, she eventually had enough it. Once The Doctor had left to find new books, one day, she began setting a course for The Doctor to get his spirit back into traveling again. She had planed to take off after she had locked the controls, but something she didn't expect happened. The Doctor came back early. He immediately noticed what the TARDIS was trying to do, and attempted to stop what she was doing. Things went downhill after that. First, the TARDIS lost control of where they were going, then The Doctor accidentally caused the entire inside of the ship to come crashing down on top of him. While still trapped underneath the rubble, he shouted, "Now you see what you've done? We're going to a random point in time and space, all because of you wanting to go somewhere. Are you happy now? I cannot regenerate any more times, and I'm dying because you wanted to travel some more. I told you I'm through with traveling!" But all of his yelling was in vain. The TARDIS had tried to stop the walls from falling on The Doctor, but when he had tried to stop her from traveling, the controls fried and she couldn't do anything about it. That wasn't all either, when the controls fried they were stuck on a fixed path to an entirely new universe! Another unexplainable thing happened that day too. The Doctor started giving off an unnatural golden light from hos hands. "What?" he exclaimed. "This is impossible! I shouldn't be able to regenerate any more times! I should be dying!" But The Doctor wasn't dying, and what he saw was true. He was regenerating. He took a quick look at the place he was headed too. "Strange planet," he said. "Can't find a name for it, but the country I'm headed for is called Equestria. Well, since this may be my last time saying this, GERONIMO!!!" Those were The Doctor's final words before being completely engulfed in his unnatural golden light. > Chapter 1 - A New world > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 - A New World Ponyville Park August 10th 1001 Twilight and her friends were on their weekly pet play date. They all thought that the pets needed to get outside and play in the sun every once in a while. Owlowiscious was getting a bit of flight practice. Gummy tried to see if he could make Pinkie Pie make the tiniest of yelps, but all he made her do was giggle. Angel Bunny was running around Fluttershy happily. Applejack and Winona were playing fetch in the grass by the path. Rarity and her cat, Opalescence, were staying perfectly happy in the shade of the tree. Rainbow Dash was a little nervous about this she may be happy that she finally got her own pet, but it was also her first pet play date. She shrugged this feeling and came up over the hill. "Come on Tank!" she called out. "We're going to miss our very first pet play date!" She looked down the hill to see her pet tortoise and his magical flying gear on his back, speedily coming up the hill to their first pet play date. "Hey Twilight," Rainbow called out to the purple unicorn. "Lovely day to be playing with our pets right?" "Right you are Rainbow," she replied. "Its also great that you could join us this time. It wouldn't be the same without you." "You're totally right on that. Nopony can make an entire area 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat!" "Still bragging as usual I see." "Just because I'm bragging, doesn't make it untrue." "I never said you were lying." "Well whatever. Lets just have some fun with our pets shall we?" Ponyville Post Office August 10th 1001 Derpy Hooves loved her job. She was one of the best mailmares in all of Ponyville. She occasionally messed up somepony's mail with another pony's mail, but other than that, she didn't mess up with her deliveries at all. One day, her boss decided to give her a very special package that she was told to deliver at a certain time, place, and oddly enough, there was a letter addressed to her taped to the top of the package. She examined the package carefully. It was strange enough that the package had a date an time to be delivered, but nopony ever sent letters to her anymore. They all forgot about her and pretended she never existed. If that was true, than why was there a letter addressed to her in particular? She looked at the return address and saw that it was the exact same place that the package was addressed to! Without wasting another thought, she quickly got on her mail uniform and went to the place that sent her the mail. Ponyville Park August 10th 1001 The 6 friends played with their pets until sundown. They were supposed to leave earlier, but they lost track of time when Rainbow Dash showed up. They all started on their way home, when Twilight saw the tinniest glimpse of light in the corner of her eye. She stopped and decided to look in the direction of the light. Rainbow Dash had noticed that her friend stopped and was looking at the sky. "What's up Twi?" she asked. "Did you see something in the sky?" "Yeah," she replied. "I thought I saw something like a shooting star, but I might have been mista-" She stopped mid sentence. This time she was looking strait at the light in the sky. "There it is again!" she stated for all to hear. "There what is?" asked the excited Pinkie Pie. She turned in the direction Twilight was facing and saw the same light. "OOOhhhh, pretty light. Is it a star? No, a comet. Or is it a giant scoop of ice cream falling down at us?" The others looked at her with her random comments. "What?" she asked when she noticed their gaze. "Never mind," said Twilight. "Its a Meteor; a piece of rock that is falling into our atmosphere." "Oh, okay." said Pinkie as she looked at it again. "Um, Twilight? That looks more like a blue box than a rock." "What? A blue box?" she asked frantically. She looked up at the object that was falling and noticed a flaming blue box falling out of the sky. "A box can't be falling out of the sky." She then realized that there could be other ponies in the park. She ran over there with Owlowiscious still on her back. Thankfully, she found nopony in the park when she got there. She looked up at the box and saw that it was going to crash into the park, so she got away as quickly as she could. The box crashed into a small jungle gym, slid past some swings, and finally stopped at the foot of a hill. Her friends caught up to her after she witnessed this box's capabilities. "What happened?" they all asked. "The box destroyed the park! Now, nopony can play here until the damage is fixed," Twilight stated. She look over at where the box landed, only to see that it was standing perfectly upright, and didn't seem to have a single scratch on it. The fact that the box seemed undamaged was curious to these 6 friends, and they went over to investigate. Ponyville Park Entrance August 10th 1001 The address on the package was strange. It had said: Ponyville Park, August 10th 1001 9:01 PM, The Big Blue Box Derpy, who didn't know what to make of this, made her way over to the park to see who had sent her the letter. When she got inside the park, she had seen that most of the playground's were destroyed. The rest were either severely damaged or not touched at all. The park was abandoned, except for 6 ponies who seemed to be running toward something. She turned to see what they were running to, and saw the big blue box on the side of a hill. She recognized the 6 ponies who were running toward the box. It was Twilight and her 5 friends. What business they had with the box? Derpy didn't know, but intended to find out. The Big Blue Box August 10th 1001 Twilight examined the box carefully. It didn't have a single scratch on it! Why, though was a complete mystery. She was busy too examining the box to notice Ponyville's own bubbly mailmare walking towards them. Rainbow Dash, however, noticed her immediately and signaled for Twilight to notice her as well. When Twilight did notice her, she called out: "Oh, hey Derpy. What brings you out here this late at night?" "I have a package to deliver," she replied. "The package told me to deliver to a big blue box at 9:01 on this very day." 'Hmm," said Twilight, lost in thought. One thought in particular intrigued her. "When did that package arrive at the post office?" "About 3 days ago," Derpy answered. "That means," Twilight gasped. "Somepony knew that this box would land here at this exact time!" She turned back to Derpy. "Do you happen to know who sent this package?" "No," Derpy replied. "The package arrived without anypony dropping it off. It seemed to appear out of thin air." "That's... Strange..." Twilight said in shock. Suddenly, the doors to the big blue box opened. Inside the box was a chestnut colored stallion. He walked out of the box, seemingly exhausted about something. "Now you've gone and done it." He seemed to talk to himself. "I told you I didn't want to travel anymore, and you did it anyway! You blasted blue box!" He started hitting the box with his front hooves. He didn't notice any of the ponies standing there watching him. "Well," he began, "better get on with where I am now." He looked at his surroundings, still not noticing Twilight and her friends standing in front of him. "Strange planet I've landed on it seems. Trees are the same, but the air is much too clean. Oh, that's right, I looked at the destination on the monitor before landing. Didn't give me a planet name though. Strange. A planet with no name. First I've encountered. Still feels better than Earth in a way." It was then he noticed the others standing in front of him. "And who might you equines be?" 'Umm," Twilight responded. "I'm Twilight Sparkle and these are my friends, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Derpy Hooves." Instead of introducing himself, the stallion looked at them in shock. "You're talking!" he said. "How are you talking? I speak horse, and that is not horse!" "And what is that supposed to mean?" Rainbow asked accusingly He wasn't paying attention to her though. "It could have something to do with me being able to with me being able to regenerate again. That wasn't supposed to happen. I should have died. And that was all your fault!" He kicked his box again as he said that last part. "Now I have to wait for the TARDIS to change again before I can go anywhere." He started grumbling things to himself. "Umm, sir?" Twilight began asking. "Don't call me 'sir', okay?" "Okay, but what should we call you?" He smiled at that question. "Please," he began, "call me 'The Doctor'." > Chapter 2 - The Doctor, The Ponies, and The Dalek > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2 - The Doctor, The Ponies, and The Dalek The Big Blue Box August 10th 1001 "Doctor?" Twilight asked. "Doctor Who?" "Now," The Doctor said. "I never knew how much I missed people asking me those two questions." "Who?" Owlowiscious called. The Doctor turned to the owl on Twilight's back, giving it a stare. "You heard me right. I said 'people'." Twilight tilted her head at the pony who called himself 'The Doctor'. "Why are you talking to Owlowiscious like that?" she asked. "He's being a smart-owl," he responded. "A very rude one, I might add." Fluttershy gasped, and immediately flew strait at The Doctor. "You can speak to animals?!" she asked excitedly, but almost immediately backed away. "I'm sorry, its just, I never met another pony who could talk to animals." "Another?" the Doctor asked. "What do you mean?" "She can understand the language of all different kinds of animals," Rarity answered for Fluttershy. To this, the Doctor seemed interested. "Apparently, she's been able to do this ever since she was a filly." He smiled with anticipation. "That's amazing!" "You didn't answer Twilight's first question," Rainbow said, receiving many confused looked. "Doctor Who?" That reminded them of the original topic. "That's it, just 'The Doctor'," he said to her, giving a very stern look. "That's not a name," Pinkie said. "It's a title!" 'It is a name. It's my name." "So, you're a doctor, right?" Derpy asked. He looked at her, smiled, and replied, "Yes." "Well, doctor of what?" He looked at her with slightly confused eyes. 'I don't know," he confessed. People don't usually ask that question." "Who?" Owlowiscious called again. To which, The Doctor, gave a angry look at the bird. "Well," said Rarity. "If your a doctor, you must be a doctor of something. So tell us, what are you a doctor of?" He sat still for a moment in thought. After a minute of thinking, he got up and said excitingly, "I've got it!" "Well, what is it?" Twilight asked. "I am The Doctor," he replied. "The Doctor of time and space!" Everfree Forest August 10th 1001 The Everfree Forest was one of the most dangerous places in Equestria. Everypony knew this. Almost all the ponies stay away from it unless they need an herb or a remedy for a disease at Zecora's hut. Everypony... except one. He was always interested in the Everfree. He came into town one day, saw the forest. And almost instantly wandered in. He always gave strange glances at the ponies who told him not to go. He seemed like an ordinary unicorn. Magic student from Canterlot, he told them. The only odd thing about him, besides the fact that he was interested in one of the most dangerous places in Equestria, was his name. Most ponies have simple names like 'Carrot Top', and even 'Big Macintosh'. For him, it didn't seem like a name at all. Blue. That's what he said his name was. Nothing more... Just Blue. He had a grayish coat and an orange mane and tail. His cutie mark was 4 orange bubbles floating in the air. He told others that the bubbles represented that he was different. Bubbles are normally grey, while mine are orange, he thought. That means I'm different from other ponies. But that is just what he told them. Not its real meaning. He didn't seem to like being around other ponies too. He was always wandering alone and staying out of sight of others. Some say that he even managed to avoid Pinkie Pie, for he always seems to disappear whenever she comes into the same place as him. Blue seemed to like the Everfree Forest more than anypony in Equestria. He always went in, and came out later like there was nothing bad about it. On this one day of August 10th in the 1001st year of Celestia's reign over Equestria, he again went into the forest. The entrance was just how he remembered it. Dark, gloomy, and seemingly scary. Not to him though. To him, it was like the edge of a world had a gateway into a new, adventurous place, just wasting to be explored. And to him... a sense of familiarity. This trip into the woods was far different though. He went on his usual route through the woods. Same woods, same road, same metal lump in the tree on his right, same leaves. Wait, what? He started backtracking to the spot where he saw this metal lump in the tree. When he examined it, he found a much larger, moving piece of metal looking around the surrounding area. "WHAT IS THIS PLACE?" it seemed to scream. "EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN!" It turned itself around and looked at Blue. "WHAT IS THIS CREATURE? SPEAK!" it asked him. Blue was in a bit of a shock. "I- I'm a pony." "WHERE AM I?" "You're in the Everfree Forest in the land of Equestria." He started to back away from the creature. This creature... Blue thought. I feel like I've seen it before... But where? And when? "THERE IS NO SUCH PLACE IN MY DATABANKS! TELL ME PONY! WHAT PLANET AM I ON?" "I- I don't know the specific name of the planet." Blue was starting to get scared of this creature. "YOU LIE! TELL ME THE NAME OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!" "N- No. I'm not lying. I really don't know!" "YOU CONTINUE TO LIE! PREPARE TO BE EXTERMINATED, PONY!" "N- N- NO," Blue screamed as the creature drew closer to him. Without thinking, he thought of Ponyville Park, and quickly teleported away from the creature." "THE PONY HAS FLED! THE PONY RESIDENTS OF THIS PLANET WILL PAY FOR NOT COOPERATING WITH THE DALEKS! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" Ponyville Park Entrance August 10th 1001 Blue didn't expect to teleport away. He was just so frightened from the creature that he had to get away. I have to warn everypony, he thought. That creature seemed dangerous. Everypony should stay as far away from it as possible. He looked into the park. Even though its this late at night, there still might be some ponies in the park, he thought as he went into the park to warn everypony of the dangerous metal creature. The Big Blue Box August 10th 1001 Everypony stared at the doctor in nonbelief. "Doctor of time and space?" Derpy asked him. "Yes!" The Doctor replied with a happy expression. His expression then darkened and he said, "Or at least I was." "What happened?" Twilight asked. "I'd rather not talk about that. What I do want to talk about is how you equines can talk! That seems like a more interesting story to me." "First of all," Twilight started. "We are ponies, not equines. Second, everypony here can talk. That includes you too, Doctor, since you're a pony too." "I'm not a pony!" he said. "I have the form of a homosapian; a human if you wish." "What's a human?" Derpy asked him? "A 'human' is a creature who walks on two legs," he began. They have hands that they use to grab things." Twilight was about to respond, but The Doctor continued talking. "Wait, if you don't know about humans, than that must mean I'm in a different universe," he said to himself. He then began to examine himself in a quick fashion. "My, Lord! I am a pony! This is new. Longer nose, hooves, chestnut color. Still not ginger! I'm never going to be a ginger am I?" "Doctor..." Twilight said, trying to get his attention. He didn't notice his name being called. "Still, this is very new. I'll have to see what other things I'll be able to do with this new body.' "Doctor..." "Since I'm still in the first 15 stages of my regeneration process, I'll have to see what my limits are later. But still, a pony! I never thought I would change species during regeneration!" "DOCTOR!" He just noticed Twilight yelling his name this time. "Yes, Twilight Sparkle? What is it?" She was starting to give off this little frustration aura to others. "Can you, please, explain why you and your box crashed into the middle of the park, destroyed half of the land, and doesn't seem to have a single scratch on you or your box?" "Its not a box, it's a TARDIS," he replied. "What's a TARDIS?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Its a spaceship,' he said. "The last of its kind. TARDIS is just a shorter name for it. It stands for: Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It's what the Time Lords use to travel the galaxies throughout the universe. I seem to have wound up in a different universe and that means more planets to travel to." He looked excited as he said that last part, but then remembered something. "Except for the fact that I quit traveling!" he spun around and looked at the TARDIS. "I should have left you in a garbage heap, where you could grow old and die! That way, I wouldn't be in this mess!" He started to hit his box once again. While he was doing that, a gray stallion ran up to them and called out. "We need to stay alert! There is a giant metal creature in the Everfree Forest!" Everypony, except The Doctor looked at him in shock. "How do you know this?" Rainbow Dash asked him. " I ran into it!" he yelled. The Doctor heard him now and started to listen in. "It seemed like it was always yelling and saying that it was going to exterminate me!" "There is no such creature, silly filly," Pinkie Pie said. "A metal monster can't be around here. There is no such thing." "Unfortunately, you're wrong Pinkie." Everypony now turned to see The Doctor walking towards the grey stallion. "What's you're name?" he asked him. "Um, Blue. And, who are you?" he asked back. "That doesn't matter," he snapped back. "This metal creature you saw. Did it have a base covered in spheres, 3 rods coming out of it, and one of them with a suction cup?" "Uh, yes," Blue answered, remembering the creature. "Do you know what the creature is?" The Doctor swore under his breath. "You were lucky to get out of there in one piece. That creature you encountered is called a Dalek, and you all are in serious trouble." > Chapter 3 - To Kill a Time Lord > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3 - To Kill a Time Lord Ponyville August 10th 1001 Ponyville is a great place to have fun. You can get apples from Sweet Apple Acres, sleep in a bed, or even watch a Dalek rampage through town. Good times, good times. Wait, what was that last one again? Yes the night was peaceful, and ponies were headed to bed. All but one, did so. Carrot Top was trotting through the town. She needed to get away from her family on the carrot farm every once in a while. The town was really quiet at night. She needed it to be quiet. Her family was loud. It was so quiet, that Carrot Top could hear sounds of something coming out of the Everfree Forest. Its probably just that stallion they call Blue, she thought to herself. He's always going in there, despite everypony's warnings to stay away. She had also seen him enter the forest earlier, and hadn't returned yet. She went to the edge of the forest to scold him for going in there again. "You know what everypony says Blue, You shouldn't go into the..." She stopped when she saw that it wasn't a pony at all. "What in the name of Celestia is that?!" The giant metal beast continued toward her. "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" it shouted. Without a second thought after that, she ran. She didn't care if her family was loud, she wanted to get away from that thing! The Big Blue Box August 10th 1001 "Um, what's a Dalek?" Blue asked The Doctor. "And you still never told me your name. What is it?" "A Dalek," he started, "is a big, ugly metal robot that will kill anything without a second thought. They have no mercy. And no matter what I do, they always survive while everyone around me dies! Oh, and before I forget: Hello! I'm The Doctor." "Doctor? What kind of name is The Doctor?" "I don't know, what kind of a name is Blue?" "Can you two knock it off?" Twilight asked. "Doctor, you seem to know the most about these Daleks. Can you tell us what we can use to get rid of it?" "No time!" he replied as he started running past them, but almost immediately stopped. "That's a first, anyway. We need to find out where the closest town is. We need as many people- I mean ponies, to be safe. Now where did you see the Dalek?" "Not to far into the Everfree Forest," Blue replied. "The edge of the woods isn't to far from a town called Ponyville over the hill there." The Doctor froze. "Not much time at all! No time to lose!" He bolted toward the hill, only to stumble halfway there. "How in the world do you run with these hooves?" he asked himself. After helping The Doctor with running(though why he needed help was a complete mystery to them all), they ran toward the town of Ponyville. Ponyville August 10th 1001 Carrot Top ran from the beast as fast as she could, turned, and saw that the creature was still following her. "EXTERMINATE!" was all it ever seemed to yell. When she ran through Ponyville, the creature stopped following her. A strange brown stallion was talking to it. Why this was, she didn't know, but she was still scared that the creature would hurt others, so she ran to house after house. Yelling to them: "If you see a giant metal beast come through here, HIDE!" She was just about to head to another house, when she saw a bright yellow light fill the sky, knocking her unconscious. Edge of Ponyville August 10th 1001 The Doctor was relieved to see that the Dalek hadn't reached the town yet. He walked right behind it and yelled, "DALEK!" The metal beast stopped and turned to look at the stallion. "WHO ARE YOU? EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN!" "You know who I am, you always know! Don't you Dalek?" Twilight could only stare in bewilderment when she saw the Dalek. It was just as The Doctor had described it, except for how scary it looked. The Doctor had told all of them: "Avoid being seen by the Dalek. He will kill you with one of its little rods it has. If the beam from the rod touches you, you will die instantly." The words lingered in the back of their minds as the Dalek scanned The Doctor. "YOU ARE THE DOCTOR! THE DALEKS MOST FEARED ENEMY! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" "Yes, yes, you're right its me. The Oncoming Storm, the Terror of the Daleks." He then stared at it with a very serious face. "The killer of your entire species!" Twilight gasped, and so did some of her friends around her. She couldn't believe her ears. Had the Doctor really killed all of the Daleks? But then, why was this one here? "No matter how many times I kill you, your race always survives!" The Doctor yelled at the Dalek. "So tell me, how did you end up on this planet?" "I DO NOT ANSWER TO YOU!" it replied. "YOU ARE THE DOCTOR! US DALEKS WILL NEVER ANSWER TO YOU! YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!" "What do you mean 'us'?" the Doctor asked. "You're all alone on an alien world, and you expect me to be exterminated?" He laughed. "Tell you what, Dalek. If you answer my questions, I'll let you have a better chance at killing me!" Twilight and her friends gasped. The Dalek had paused its talking for some time, but still continued. "THERE WAS A RIP IN THE FABRIC OF SPACE! I FELL THROUGH!" The Doctor paused for a moment. "So," he continued. "Falling through a rip in space led you to kill everypony in sight?" "YOU ARE WRONG, DOCTOR! THE PONIES WILL DIE FOR NOT COOPERATING WITH THE DALEKS!" "But I'm right here! And you know that if I'm here, I will stop you." "THAT MAY BE TRUE, BUT IF I KILL YOU FIRST, THE DALEKS WILL NOT FAIL!" "Then shoot me!" Twilight's mind went blank. He was asking for the Dalek to shoot him? "If I'm so dangerous to your plan, then shoot me now! I'm old, tired, and don't want to have to deal with the Daleks anymore, so for God's sake. SHOOT ME NOW!" Those were the last words he spoke before the Dalek shot him. "THE DOCTOR IS DEAD! THE DALEKS WILL NEVER LOSE AGAIN!" Twilight stared in shock. She had never seen a pony die before. "What in the name of Celestia just happened?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Why would he ask for the Dalek to shoot him?" "I- I don't know," replied Twilight. All the ponies there began to sob silently. The Dalek was too busy cheering for itself to notice the brown stallion getting up. Twilight and the others stopped sobbing when they saw The Doctor get up. "What?" Rainbow Dash asked silently. "Didn't The Doctor say that the ray from the Dalek will kill you instantly if it touched you?" The Dalek stopped cheering when it saw that The Doctor had gotten up. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN!" "Well that was fun," The Doctor said. "It will take a lot more than that to kill me, and you know why Dalek? Rule Number 1 for all enemies of The Doctor: Never shoot a Time Lord when they are still in the first 15 stages of their regeneration process." Twilight watched in awe, as The Doctor started to glow a benevolent golden light. Her instincts then told her to get out of the way, as the Golden light from The Doctor exploded into the sky. > Chapter 4 - The Mysteryous Package > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 4 - The Mysterious Package Edge of Ponyville August 10th 1001 Twilight realized that she and her friends wouldn't be able to avoid this energy coming from The Doctor. Without thinking, she put up a quick magical barrier to protect the 7 ponies around her from this explosion. The others freaked out. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie tried hiding under the bush; Applejack, Fluttershy, and Blue stuck close to Twilight, while Rarity and Derpy Hooves stayed behind the hill, hoping that the blast wouldn't reach them. When they all realized that Twilight was casting a protection spell, they all calmed down and watched The Doctor as he continued emitting the golden light. The Dalek wasn't as fortunate as the ponies. It had a small protection field, protecting it from small attacks such as lasers and bullets, but taking a full blast of regeneration energy was entirely different. The Dalek screamed as the golden light had reached it, pushing its back onto the ground. After about ten seconds of this light coming from The Doctor, he stopped emanating the light and stood back on his four hooves. "Well, I haven't done that in a while," he said with a grin. "Although, I am feeling a... bit... weak." The Doctor collapsed onto the ground. The 8 ponies saw this and ran over to him. "Doctor! Are you all right?" Derpy asked with a worried expression on her face. The Doctor breathed slowly. "I'm fine," he replied. At this point, he burped and let out a bit of golden light from his mouth. "I haven't fully regenerated yet. I- I n-need t-to r-r-rest," he said before collapsing onto the ground. "Doctor!" Ponyville Library August 11th 1001 After The Doctor had collapsed the night before, Twilight and her friends proceeded to toke him to the library, where he could rest in the guest room. Occasionally, he gave off a mysterious golden light from his mouth. Twilight tried to get a sample of this light, but every time she got it in a test tube, it disappeared into thin air, making it impossible to examine. "Oh, well," she finally said after the tenth time of failing. "I'll have to ask him when he wakes up." "When who wakes up?" a voice from behind Twilight asked. She turned to see her number one assistant rubbing his eyes as he stepped down the stairs. "The stallion on the couch over there," she pointed a hoof over at The Doctor. "Honestly Spike, do you always sleep through loud explosions and noises?" "There was an explosion?!" Spike asked, slightly afraid. "Yes, as a matter of fact. He exploded with a golden light last night. Occasionally, some of the light escapes through his mouth and disappears into the air, making it impossible to examine." "Oh, is that why you have all of this science stuff out?" "Yes," she said as another bit of golden light filled the room and then disappeared. "I've never seen anything like it, but I'm sure he knows, since he spoke some weird stuff last night." "That stuff is freaky if you ask me," Spike said as he backed away from the stallion. "What kind of stuff did he say?" "Well, he talked a bit about a blue box dumping him here, something called regeneration, and the weirdest thing about him was what he called himself." "Why? What's his name?" "Its more of a title, actually. He calls himself The Doctor." At this point, The Doctor shot up out of the bed as he burped out another bit of golden light. He looked around at the library, noticing that his surroundings were different. "Well, I knew I was going to be moved, but I didn't expect to be in a library," he said. He then looked at Twilight and asked, "Yes? You called my name, so what is it?" Blue's Apartment August 11th 1001 Blue was trying to recollect the things that had happened last night. First, he finds a Dalek. Second, he finds a strange stallion called The Doctor. Third, he saw him give out a burst of energy from his body, and then from his mouth multiple times. Blue sat strait up in remembrance. He had heard of this 'Doctor' character before. Should I tell them? he thought to himself. No, they wouldn't believe me. They would believe The Doctor's story of coming to Equestria, but mine they would just laugh at. It is better for them if they don't know where I came from. Ponyville Post Office August 11th 1001 Derpy Hooves returned home late last night. She went strait to bed and decided to forget about the entire thing. Now, the next day, she returns to the post office to get her daily routine done. All of the letters that were there were being dropped off at the time, so she decided to sit down and wait for more letters to come in. When she sat down, she noticed she still had something in her bag from yesterday. When she looked at it, she smashed her hoof against her face and went out to deliver the package. Ponyville Library August 11th 1001 "Y-you were unconscious," Twilight began. "I was just telling my assistant, Spike about you." "Really?" he asked. "I'd love to meet this 'Spike'. Where is he?" "I'm right here," Spike called from the stairs. The Doctor turned in the direction of the voice. "Dragon!" he shouted as he hid under the covers. "Oy, Lavender! Get down! He'll see you!" "Spike wouldn't hurt us," Twilight said. "He's only a baby dragon, and my name isn't Lavender. Its Twilight Sparkle." "Wait, so your assistant is a dragon? That's amazing! Although, a library isn't the best place for a dragon. He could burn down all the books," he stated. "I don't usually breathe fire," Spike told him. "When I do, it usually means that the princess is sending Twilight a letter. Even if I did breath fire, Twilight casts a magic spell that prevents me from burning down the books." "Wait, wait, wait. Did you just say 'princess' and 'magic'?" "Yes, why do you ask?" "I didn't think that ponies could use magic," he said. "I also didn't think that there would be someone ruling over the land." "Somepony," Twilight corrected him. He stared blankly at her. "I'm sorry, what?" "You said 'someone' when you should have said 'somepony'." The two of them stared at each other for another few minutes. After a bit of time, The Doctor burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" "Y-y-you said 'somepony'! Ha-ha! I- I suppose that you say everypony and anypony too huh?" Twilight stared at him blankly. "Yes, but I don't see what's so funny about it." "Oh, its nothing," he said as he stopped laughing. "Okay, so where am I?" "You're in my house." "Really?" he asked, intrigued. "You live here?" "Yes. Ever since I moved to Ponyville, I've lived in this very library," Twilight said. "Well, that's nice," he told her. "I lost my home a long time ago, in a big war." A war?!? Wait, Twilight thought. There hasn't been a war in Equestria in centuries. Why would he lie about his home? "But that doesn't matter anymore," he continued. "What matters now, is that I'm through helping everyone- I mean everypony, with their problems on their world." "But what about last night when you defeated... that... thing?" "That 'thing' was one of the most dangerous 'things' in the universe. It was called a Dalek, and I only helped because it would have killed everything in its sight. I also have a personal history with the Daleks going back as far as the war I was talking about." The Doctor would have probably continued talking further, but a knock at the door stopped him. Twilight went to the door to see who it was. "Oh, hello Derpy, what brings you here?" Twilight asked the mailmare after opening the door. "I forgot to deliver this to The Doctor yesterday," she answered her. "I knew he was staying here while he recovered, so could you give it to him when he wakes up?" "I'm awake now," The Doctor called out as he walked towards the door. "Oh, well here's the package," she said as she handed him the package. As he examined the package, he noticed something. "That's odd," he said. "There's an exact place and time for this to be delivered. That couldn't happen unless..." He wasted no time getting through the package. When he finally opened it, he found three things. A letter, a metal rod, and a photo. "No way," he said. "This can't be! Its my sonic screwdriver! I never thought I'd see you again!" He proceeded to the letter next. He didn't recognize the handwriting, but he still read it. When he was finished, Twilight asked him, "Well, what does it say? Who's it from?" The Doctor stared at the letter in nonbelief. "Its from you, Twilight Sparkle." > Chapter 5 - Inside the TARDIS > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5 - Inside the TARDIS Ponyville Library August 11th 1001 "How can the letter be from me?" Twilight asked. "I never knew you before today!" "Its simple," The Doctor said, obviously with the solution. "Your future self sent this package to me in order to keep the future continuously going." "What is that supposed to mean?" "You remember how I told you that I don't save the universe anymore?" he said, getting slightly off topic. "Yeah, but I don't see how that is relevant to this note," she answered. "Well, your future self sent this to me to help me get my spirit back into traveling again." "I don't believe you." He sighed. "Read the letter for yourself then," he said, gesturing at the note with his hoof. Twilight picked up the letter with her magic. "How did you do that?" The Doctor asked her. "Magic," she replied. "Really? That's fascinating! Can I do magic?" "No. Earth ponies can't do magic; Only unicorns can use magic." "Oh. Well, that's disappointing." When no further comments came, Twilight read the letter. Dear Doctor and Twilight, If I have remembered correctly, Derpy forgot to bring the package to The Doctor on the 10th, and instead brought it to you both on the 11th. But that is not the point. Doctor, you need to stop being a coward and hiding in the big blue box of yours. She was planning on getting your spirits back up to traveling when you did nothing but sit around and read books. Stop being a grouch and get into the TARDIS and fly away. Twilight, go with him. Take your friends and go with him. Without you, he will be alone and you wont be able to send him this letter telling him to continue his journey across the universe. I have attached a picture and the sonic screwdriver to help you in your time of need. Both of you make the right choices. Sincerely, Future Twilight Sparkle. Twilight couldn't believe what she saw. The letter was in her handwriting! She never wrote something like this, but it was her note in her handwriting! "How is this possible?" she asked. "I told you," The Doctor said. "Time Travel." Twilight looked at him with curiosity. "So, your saying that I write this in the future, and than have it set back so that we would go on adventures together?" "That's basically it," he replied. "But what is that metal rod? She- I, sent the letter to us, but she sent a rod, not a screwdriver." "This rod is the screwdriver," The Doctor told her. He reached down to pick it up, but found that his hooves wouldn't do what he wanted it to do. "How do you pick things up with these hooves?" Twilight stared at him with a confused face. "You just pick it up, see?" she said as she picked up the screwdriver with her own hoof. "How did you do that? Its physically impossible with these hooves!" "Never mind the screwdriver, what about the picture I sent us?" "Oh, its right there," he said as he pointed at a fallen picture. Twilight picked it up with her magic. She and The Doctor looked at the picture curiously, wondering what could be on it. The photo was of The Doctor, Twilight, Pinkie, Rainbow, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Derpy, and Blue posing in an area that neither her, nor The Doctor had seen before in their lives. "I- I can't believe this," Twilight stuttered. "I never posed this picture. In fact, I never saw Blue around at all before yesterday!" The Doctor smiled before saying: "I told you. Time Travel." "So this picture will be taken in the future?" "Oh, yes." Twilight stood there for a moment. She and her friends were going to travel around the universe with a crazy pony she only met yesterday. "Well, since we cannot stop what is going to happen, lets get on with this," she said, following The Doctor out the door. The Big Blue Box August 11th 1001 Twilight immediately called her friends to meet her at the crash site of the box The Doctor came from. She told them that would explain why later. When they all arrived, They all had the same question. "So, why did you bring us here Twilight?" Twilight waited for everyone to quiet down before answering. "We all are going on an adventure with The Doctor," she said. "Oh, well that's nice," Rainbow Dash said. She then realized what she said, and gave a confused look. "Wait, what did you say?" "I said that we are going on an adventure with The Doctor." "What makes you think that we all will be going?" Rarity asked. "Take a look at this picture," Twilight replied, showing them the picture. When they all got a look at it, nopony there could believe their eyes. "Ah never posed for that picture," Applejack said accusingly. "No, but you will," Twilight replied. "The future me sent this picture to me to get us all to go on an adventure that we wouldn't go on if it wasn't for her." "So your saying that we all are going to go with The Doctor?" Blue asked, smiling a bit. "Yes," Twilight answered. His smile grew slightly. Twilight then noticed that he was the only pony who brought saddlebags. She found this strange... "But," Fluttershy started, "how are we going to travel with The Doctor? We don't have any transportation." "Oh, yes we do," said a voice from nowhere. The 8 ponies looked around in shock, trying to find the source of the voice. They all turned to the blue box, only to see the doors swing open to The Doctor as he walked through. "This, is a TARDIS," he said. "That stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It is my spaceship that I use to travel the universe." "Um, Doctor? How are we all supposed to fit into that thing?" Derpy asked. "Why don't you see for yourself?" he replied, gesturing to the doors that led inside the big blue box. Nervously, the 8 ponies followed The Doctor into the TARDIS. Only to find that is was really big on the inside. "Its..." "Go on," The Doctor said, smiling. "Its..." "Spit it out already." "Its bigger on the inside!" "Oh, I missed people saying that too," said The Doctor. "But yes, it is bigger on the inside." The interior of the ship looked like a giant steering wheel, or something you pushed a lot of buttons on and it did something. "Okay, now I believe that this is a spaceship," Rainbow Dash said. "So," The Doctor started, "anywhere in time and space, past, present, or future, another planet, same planet, ANYWHERE! So where do you want to go?" "Well..." Derpy started. "I always wanted to see what the future had in store for me." "Gotcha," The Doctor said. "Onwards, and upwards!" And with that, The 9 ponies went on a journey through the universe. > Chapter 6 - Shaking Through The Time Vortex > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 6 - What The Future Holds The TARDIS Time Vortex The TARDIS lurched to one side, causing several of the ponies on board to fall in that direction. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Derpy all spread out their wings and began to hover no the air. All the ponies who were left on the floor fell in the direction that the box lurched. All except one... Apparently. Blue simply stood where he was, not minding the way the TARDIS had suddenly jerked to one side. Even when the entire space around him suddenly jerked in the opposite direction, causing all the others to fall in that direction, he simply stood still. The Doctor took notice in this. Why hadn't the gray unicorn reacted like the others did, he wondered. Even I feel the jerking of the TARDIS. How does he simply remain calm? A sudden warning sign appeared on the screen of the TARDIS. He reached one of his hooves to try and get a better look at it, but when the ship lurched again, the rotating screen moved out of his reach. He growled in frustration. "Hold on!" he called to the ponies on board his ship. "I think we're going to be landing soon!" He got no response, as expected. With the TARDIS moving around like this, who could focus on giving an accurate response? Not even Blue replied, who had just been standing in the same spot the entire time. The Doctor got a quick glimpse of the pony's face before turning his attention back to the controls. Blue's eyes were closed. Now, The Doctor had seen many things in his lives, including some of his companions starting to get used to the lurching around. But to just stand there, with this being their first time ever being in the TARDIS, eyes closed... There's something about him, he thought. The TARDIS gave one final lurch before The Doctor pushed another switch away from him. After that, the entire ship seemed to calm down. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr, went the TARDIS. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr, Wiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr. Klunk! The TARDIS stopped moving completely after that last sound was made. The beautiful sound that he missed after the time he spent up on those clouds. "Here we are," he stated, turning around to look at his eight companions. The pegasi had gently set themselves down onto the floor of the TARDIS, while Twilight, Rarity and Applejack carefully got to their hooves. Blue still remained standing in the same spot, but his blue eyes had opened. "WEE!" cried a cheery voice on the other side of the TARDIS, causing them all to look in the direction of the noise. They saw Pinkie Pie standing on one of the decorations off to the side of the console. "Can we do that again? That was sooooo much fun!" The Doctor stared in shock, while all the others just shook their heads in silence. "Does she normally do this?" he asked them, any of them. "Don't mind her," Twilight said, still a bit dizzy from all that random moving. "She's just being Pinkie Pie." The Doctor continue to stare at Pinkie while she made weird sounds, that strangely sounded like the TARDIS's whirring. "Anyway," The Doctor continued. "We have arrived..." He struggled to find the right word. "Sometime. Yes. Sometime. Sometime in a world that apparently has no name." He turned to the group. "What year were we in when we left?" Twilight was the one to answer him. "Year 1001 of the reign of Celestia," she said. "At least, that's what it was. I don't have a clue to what it is now." "Yeah," Rainbow Dash agreed. "Where are we?" "To be honest, I'm not sure," The Doctor replied. "I, for one, have never been in this universe before, and I don't know what could be in store for any of us." "Then why'd you want to take us on this adventure?" Rainbow asked accusingly. He smiled at her. "Adventure. A whole new world to me. Always worth the excitement." "So," Rarity began, "we step out those doors, and we are no longer in Ponyville Park?" He nodded. "Yup. That basically sums it up!" "Ooh! Ooh! Me first!" Pinkie said as she ran towards the doors. "Come on, Fluttershy!" "H- Huh?" Fluttershy asked when she heard her name. "A- Alright." She sounded unsure, but followed Pinkie to the door anyway. in no time, the doors to the TARDIS opened and they stepped. No sooner, all except Blue had left through the doors. "Hang on, Blue," The Doctor called to him. When he heard his name, he turned to the chestnut stallion. "How'd you do that?" He looked a bit confused at that question. "What do you mean by that?" "How'd you manage to stand still like that while the TARDIS was shaking around. Not even I manage it sometimes." Blue grinned back at The Doctor. "I learned a long time ago that gravity only works in one direction." The Doctor was confused. "But the TARDIS is a spaceship that travels through time and space. Gravity doesn't even work for normal spaceships!" "Doctor, you just ruined your own statement." To that, The Doctor stepped back a bit. "The TARDIS isn't a normal spaceship, is it? It has it's own gravity. All I had to do was focus on it. That is what you asked, wasn't it?" Still grinning, Blue walked through the doors to the world they had ended up in. the Doctor stayed in the TARDIS, thinking about what the gray stallion had said. 'The TARDIS isn't a normal ship, is it? It has it's own gravity.' "How did you know that?" The Doctor asked to nopony in particular. "Just who are you, Blue?" > Chapter 7 - What The Future Holds > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7 - What The Future Holds Outside The TARDIS ??? The Doctor eventually stepped out of the TARDIS and got a look at the world around him. Massive buildings from left to right were all the nine ponies could see. Some were too high to see the actual top of them. "Wow! Where are we?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Like I said Pinkie, I don't know," The Doctor responded. he looked to his left and saw a small group of ponies walking by them. He ran up to them. "Excuse me, but where are we, and what day is today?" They all looked at him. "Where have you been living, in a hole?" one of the ponies asked. "We're only in New Ponyville, one of th newest towns in modern day Equestria." "As for the date," another pony began, "it is November 7th, 2001 of the reign of Celestia and Luna. I would think that would be pretty obvious." They then walked off, leaving the group of nine ponies in front o the TARDIS. "Year 2001?!?" Twilight asked. "Are we really 1000 years in the future?" "It would appear so," The Doctor said. "I did say the TARDIS could travel to anytime. And as for our location, it would seem that we're in a newer version of your old hometown." "Woah," Rainbow said. "This is pretty amazing." "W- What happened to our Ponyville?" Fluttershy asked, barely above a whisper. "Fluttershy," Blue started, putting a hoof on her back, "not everything will stay the same with time. Everything has to change eventually." She looked at him. "What about my animals? Will they have gotten lonely if I wasn't there? What happened to them?" "I'm afraid I cannot answer those questions. What has happened to them is a complete mystery at the moment. But I do know that you will see them again." He smiled at her as he said that last part. "H- How do you know that?" "Because The Doctor is going to take us back. Maybe not right at this moment, but he will take us back." Blue turned to the chestnut stallion. "Isn't that right, Doctor?" "Of course it is!" he replied, a bit offended. "What kind of time traveler would I be if I didn't take you all back to your respective times?" "Enough about that," Rarity said. "What should we do now?" "I want to have a look around!" Pinkie said before she darted off in some random direction. "Hang on!" The Doctor called, but it was too late. She had already been out of earshot. "She's gone. She didn't let me finish. I was going to say that we should stick together." "Don't you worry Sugarcube," Applejack said. "I'll find her." She then ran off in the same direction as Pinkie. "Well," The Doctor began, "since it seems to be us splitting up, we can each view our own part of the town. So, who's going with who?" "I'll go with Twilight," Rarity said. To which, Twilight nodded. "I want to go with Rainbow Dash," Fluttershy said. Rainbow looked a little unsure, but simply nodded anyway. "Well then," Derpy began, "I guess Blue and I will be traveling with you, Doctor." "Please," Blue scoffed, receiving several looks from those around him. "I'd rather experience this place for myself." "But we should stick together," Twilight said. "What if we get into trouble?" "I can take care of myself," he said as he turned to walk away. Suddenly, he stopped mid-turn. "Oh, and a fair warning to you all. Don't meet any of the princesses." "Why not?" Twilight asked. "Why shouldn't we meet any of the princesses?" "Just don't." That's all he said before continuing his path. "What's with him?" Derpy asked. Nopony had an answer for her. "He seems a bit familiar," Twilight said. "Like I've seen him from somewhere before, but I don't clearly remember." The Doctor turned to her. "Well, don't push yourself. You'll remember eventually." Twilight nodded. "Right! So, does everyon- pony have their partners?" "Yep!" Rainbow replied. "Then meet back here at-" He looked at a clock on the wall that read 12:00. "3 o'clock, alright?" They nodded. "Then let's go!" They all then turned in different directions, each about to experience a different part of the New Ponyville. Pinkie And Applejack "Pinkie!" Applejack called out as she ran through the streets of the unfamiliar Ponyville. She had seen Pinkie until recently. She saw her, and then she didn't. "This ain't no time for jokes." "Silly Applejack," a voice from behind her spoke, making her jump. "There's always a time for jokes!" She turned to see Pinkie right behind her. "Where'd you come from?" "I was following behind you ever since you lost sight of me!" she responded. "Anyway, come on, Applejack! I found something you're going to like!" "I think we should get back to the TARDIS," Applejack said. "The Doctor wants us to stay together." "But that's why you're with me, silly! Now come on, lets go!" Pinkie then began to bounce away. Applejack shook her head and reluctantly followed her. After about five minutes of bouncing(and trudging), they came across some huge building. "And where are we?" Applejack asked. "Come inside and see!" Pinkie said as she went to the doors. Right before she ran into them, they opened on their own. "Come on!" Pinkie said when Applejack showed no sign o coming in. Reluctantly, Applejack moved toward the doors, that had closed. When she was about two feet from the door, it opened to her. She stepped back, but walked forward again when Pinkie motioned for her to come in. "Where is this?" Applejack asked. "Just look at that," Pinkie said, pointing a hoof at some machine. Applejack turned her head to look at it. On it, hundreds of apples were being moved through the building. "W- What is this?" Applejack asked. "This is the Apple-Transport Facility," a voice behind them said. They turned to see a pony in a workers outfit trotting over to them. "This is where we transport apples that we grow on a farm not to far from here all around Equestria. This is actually the main building to the entire country." "A farm?" Applejack asked. "Yeah," they said. "Don't tell me you've never heard of Sweet Apple Acres before." Applejack's eyes went wide. A wide grin formed on her face. Some tears formed in her eyes. "Ma'am, are you alright?" "Ah'm fine," she replied. "Ah just need to step outside." She turned and walked through the doors and sat on the sidewalk. About a minute later, Pinkie Pie came out and stood behind her. "Are you alright?" she asked. "I'm sorry if I made you sad." "Ah'm not sad Pinkie," Applejack replied. "Ah'm happy. To think that mah farm is still going, even this far in into the future. Ah'm happy to know that all of Equestria has come to enjoy the Apple Family's apples." "Well, that's great!" Pinkie said, a lot happier than earlier. "I wouldn't want to be wandering around town with one of my friends being mopey all the while!" Applejack wiped a tear from her cheek. "So where are we goin' to go now?" "Hmm..." Pinkie hummed. "Why not check out the farm the worker mentioned? I'm sure you'd love to see how your farm has done for the last thousand years." Applejack nodded. "Yeah, Ah'd like that." Rarity and Twilight The two unicorns walked down the road. Each one of them were looking at a different side of the street. "You know Twilight," Rarity began, "this place reminds me of our old Ponyville." Twilight turned to her. "How? This place doesn't remind me of our old home in any way." "Well, besides the streets being paved in this... weird black stuff, and the buildings being as tall as the castle in Canterlot, there are still ponies going about their daily lives." Twilight looked around. It was true. Other than the streets, the buildings and anything else that was different, all the ponies still talked between one another and trotted to different areas, as if they knew exactly where they were going. It actually was just like their Ponyville, in a way. Rarity sighed. "I guess to them, it is just like every day. It only seems strange to us, for they didn't come from the past." Twilight nodded. "I guess." She looked down at the ground, obviously lost in thought. "Something wrong dear?" Rarity asked. "I was thinking about what Blue told us," she admitted. "He told us not to see the princesses. Why did he say that? There's also the fact that I feel like I've seen him someplace before." "We did see him when we first met The Doctor. Perhaps you're just referring to that night." Twilight shook her head. "No, I recognize him from some other time. Before I met all of you..." "Before you met us?" Twilight nodded again. "Yeah... I think it was somewhere in Canterlot..." "Well, don't you worry about it. I'm sure you'll remember it eventually." "Perhaps..." Rarity looked over to their right. "Why don't we find someplace to visit? I think that would be better than just walking on these streets." "Alright," Twilight responded. Fluttershy And Rainbow Dash The two pegasi took the skies to view the world below them. Most of the buildings were still taller than their current elevation, but they still managed. to get around. "So what do you think about this city?" Rainbow asked Fluttershy. "I- Its alright, I- I guess," she replied. "That's good," Rainbow said. The two were silent as they flew above the city. No words seemed to come to mind. They took several turns before Rainbow spoke again. "So... What do you think the others are seeing." "I- I'm not sure..." Fluttershy replied. "They're all probably seeing something that they enjoy." She looked down at the ground. Rainbow saw her small disappointment. "You don't like it here, do you Fluttershy?" Fluttershy looked at Rainbow Dash, and then back at the ground, nodding silently. "I... just can't help but think about my animals," she admitted. "Even though Blue said that I will see them again, I don't think I'll feel better until I do." Rainbow reached over and put a hoof on her back. "Don't worry about them," she told her. "If Blue says that you will see them again, then you have to hope that you will. Don't let something that might not happen worry you." "But what if it does happen?" she countered. "What if I don't see them again? Will they have been left alone for all the time I was gone? What if-" "Fluttershy, stop!" Rainbow snapped at the pegasus. Fluttershy stopped flying and looked at Rainbow, a shocked expression on her face. "You can't continue worrying like this! You will see them again." "But-" "Don't say that Fluttershy," Rainbow cut her off. "Say it with me. 'I will see my animals again.'" "But-" "Say it, Fluttershy!" "I- I w- will see my animals again," she said quietly. "Again." "I- I will see my animals again," she repeated, a bit more confident this time. "Once more!" Rainbow encouraged. "I will see my animals again!" Fluttershy exclaimed. Every bit of fear in her voice earlier seemed to be gone. "Now," Rainbow began, "do you still think you won't see your animals again?" Fluttershy shook her head. "No, thanks, Rainbow." "Anything for a friend," the rainbow-maned pegasus replied. She began to fly off. "Come on, let's find something." Fluttershy nodded and flew after her friend. The Doctor And Derpy The Doctor and Derpy trotted through the streets of New Ponyville. "So who are these 'princesses' that Blue mentioned?" The Doctor asked. "The princesses are the ones who rule our land of Equestria," Derpy replied. "There are three that I know of. The first is Princess Celestia. She raises the sun each day at dawn." The Doctor looked at her strangely. "Did you just say that she raises the sun?" "Mm-Hmm!" Derpy nodded. "Her sister, Princess Luna, raises the moon. Together, they rule all of Equestria." "That's amazing!" he said. "You said that there were three that you know of. Who's the third?" "Huh? Oh, the third is Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. But everypony just calls her Princess Cadence. I heard that she was going to get married soon." "Where'd you hear that?" "When you're the mailmare for an entire town like Ponyville, you tend to hear a lot of things." "Ah, I see. So, is this Princess Cadence the princess of anything?" Derpy shrugged. "I'm not sure. I don't hear everything that goes on around Ponyville. All I heard about her was the wedding." "Okay," The Doctor replied, turning his head to get a better look at the city around him. "You know, this city, New Ponyville, kinda reminds me of Earth." "Earth?" Derpy asked, confused. The Doctor nodded. "The planet that I was at before this one." "Really?" Derpy asked, glancing at the buildings. "In what way?" "Well, it just that everything seems to be the exact same as Earth. The buildings are tall, technology seems to be modern, stuff like that. It just reminds me of Earth." "Well, to me, its all different." "Time has a tendency to do that to my companions. Take them to the future, and everything is advanced to them. Take them to the past, and they worry about the lack of entertainment. But no matter where we end up, it has always been an adventure." "In what way?" "Oh, the usual. Some old enemies of mine sometimes make another appearance, and I stop them." "Like the Dalek?" The Doctor nodded and quietly replied. "Yes, like the Dalek." They continued walking down the street. Blue The gray unicorn immediately teleported once he was out of sight of the others. With only one destination in mind, it was simple to do so. He found himself at his new location, far from New Ponyville. There was a familiar voice behind him. He turned and looked in its direction, seeing the familiar face before him. "Hello Blue," the owner of the voice said, smiling. He smiled back at them. "Hello Celestia. How's Luna?"
