> Harmony and DiScOrD > by AnimeLovingBritishHoof > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Hide and seek > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ready or not, here I come!" Woona trotted out of her room, before glancing left and right. Where was Tia? She must have gotten better. Before she had used to chuckle as she stood behind Woona, thinking she could not see her. Obviously, she could, since Tia couldn't control her laughter. But Tia was getting older, so she should be getting better anyway. "Still, you are no match for THE MIGHTY PRINCESS LUNA!" Woona put on her best royal canterlot voice before heading downstairs. The twirling banister looked so welcoming, but she had been told not to slide down it. She soon settled for just running down the stairs. A small file of documents had been left on the stairs, and Woona didn't notice them until it was too late. With a petrified scream, she came tumbling down. The hard, wooden floor seemed to be coming closer, so she closed her eyes and flapped her tiny wings for life. When she reopened her eyes, she saw that she was two inches above the ground. At first she thought she was flying, but she soon noticed a magical aurora floating around her. She was then levitated to the ground with a small 'ouch'. Woona's mother, Lauren Faust, stepped out of the shadows. With a grin, the young princess of the night ran up to her. "Thank you sooooooo much! I could have DIED!" Lauren chuckled, before mentioning that Woona would only get a small bump on the head, not a gravestone. They both cuddled, before Woona asked if her mother wanted to play hide and seek. Lauren shook her head, before walking towards the front door. "Your'e gonna go see Daddy, aren't you?" Tears filled Lauren's eyes. During the Dragon war, her husband had been struck by a poisonous Dragon bite. He was immediately rushed to hospital, so Lauren held his hoof when he died. She visited his grave every week, laying fresh tulips each time. But Lauren had said real princesses don't cry, so she couldn't take Woona with her. "But WWWHHHYYYY? I want to go!" Lauren mentioned that she wanted to go alone, and Woona put her head down in despair. "Anyway, you have to go find Tia, don't you? If I were you, look in her bedroom. Don't tell her I helped you!" Woona chuckled, before racing back upstairs. Lauren had got away from her daughter- this time. Meanwhile, Tia was hiding in her closet, wondering what had took Woona so long. She was the so-called 'master of hide and seek' so she better have a good reason why she hadn't found her yet. A lightning strike from outside made Tia jump, and ran downstairs to see what had happened. Hide and seek would have to wait. Tia ran past her surprised sister, before galloping towards the front door. To their relief, their Mother was fine, trotting down the path with her umbrella. What they found was much more strange. A alicorn colt was lying on their doorstep, unconsious and alone. His cutie mark was a group of gems, that Tia had heard of in myths. They were called 'the elements of Harmony'. Maybe he specialised in mythology, finding about the elements and the so-called 'humans'? Maybe he was obsessed with gems, and he had gems that looked like the elements of harmony? Or maybe... Tia's thoughts ceased as the colt woke up. In anxiety, Woona asked who he was. "I...I don't remember...." > Amnesia > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The two Alicorn fillies stood side by side, puzzled and confused. Tia was wondering who he really was, and why did he have amnesia? Woona, on the other hand, was thinking of how she should talk to the alicorn. She settled for royal and formal, and then stook her stubby wings out and held her head high. "How, pray tell, can you forget thou name?" Woona was impressed with her performance, but Tia was laughing her head off. Tia realised that Woona had never heard of amnesia, and didn't understand what was happening. But the alicorn colt was polite, and replied in the kindest way. "I have lost my memory, so I can't tell you my name." "Soooo... Where did your memory go?" Tia was in hysterics now, and banged her hoof on the floor in laughter. How stupid was her sister? I mean, she could at least understand what that meant. Woona went into a huff, and stomped upstairs. Now Tia was alone with the mystery colt. Tia began to ask if he could remember anything, but his answer was always the same. "I'm sorry, I don't know." After an hour, Tia was desperate to find out something. A sudden thought struck her mind, and she told the colt about his cutie mark. "The elements of harmony are a group of gems that are said to have unimaginable power. All they require is simple friendship, like knowing how to make your friends laugh, staying by their side no matter what, giving others what you want most, being kind, and always telling the truth. Throughout the years, ponies have searched for them, hoping to find them. But no pony has ever found them. It is written that a spark will light up the elements, and will create a new element. But none have succeeded, and the sixth element is still unknown. Your special talent has something to do with the gems, so I think only you can find them. You will find the sixth element and bring harmony to the land." Tia took a deep breath after her speech. The colt didn't appear to have gotten his memory back, but he seemed to have found something to with his past. He laughed, and then said the most unlikely thing. "You know, I like that name, Harmony. It just feels so right!" The two friends chatted away into the night, like they had known each other forever. > Faust > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Lauren Faust drew nearer to the graveyard, tears filled her eyes. She felt sorry for all the lost souls, just having a piece of rock with their name engraved for their families to remember them by. A giant hill lay on the far side of the graveyard, and everypony on that hill had died or been seriously injured then died in the dragon war. At the very top, the prince of equestria sat, so Lauren had a long way to go to see her husband. She began to trek upwards, with her head held high. She had enveloped the tulips in her wings so she'd have to walk. Through the bitter cold she walked, always keeping the tulips warm. As she grew tired, the unforgiving winds tried to sweep her over, but nothing could stop her from seeing her husband. When she finally reached the top, she began to cry. Not tears of sadness, yet tears of guilt. For Lauren knew that she could never tell her children her deepest, darkest secret. There was only two more days to go. No time to think about the future, it was time to think about the present. Her children would be looking for her back home, and she still hadn't laid the tulips down or talked to her husband. So with a deep breath, she started talking. "I miss you I miss you so much. The girls are doing fine back home, and our castle is still upright. I've started to make some free area in the Everfree forest for a location for Woona and Tia when.... When..." Lauren began to cry again. She was such a useless princess! Always crying over a husband that had been dead for two years! Thinking about leaving her life in royalty behind! Leaving the kids constantly home alone! Why was she doing this! With a frown and tears, she lay down the tulips and flew back home. Now Tia had decided to go to bed. No one had came in, and 'Harmony' was growing tired. Tia left him on the sofa downstairs, for if she placed him in one of the spare beds, her mother would be more shocked. Although with everything happening was enough to take in, her mind drifted elsewhere. Luna. The look on her face! It was enough to break a pony's heart. Permanently. Maybe she had been a bit mean to Woona, for she was only young. But Celestia feared that that wouldn't be the end of Celestia vs Luna. At that moment, Lauren came in. Tia pretended to be asleep, before hearing; "Why the buck is there a sleeping colt on my sofa!" Tia grinned, before falling into a deep sleep. > The clock struck one, the truth ran down > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That morning, there was a big argument between Mother and Daughter. Faust brought up questions such as: 'Why is he here?' and 'Do you know him?', whereas Tia argued that she couldn't just leave him on the doorstep. The battle raged on in the great hall, leaving the colt alone in the living room. Woona was supposed to be watching him, but the sudden yearning for a cookie before her Mother and her Sister got back was too much to bear. Woona entered the kitchen, eyes gasping longingly at the cookie jar on the high shelf. She took a few steps back until her hindquarters were half-ramped up the fan at the wall. The fan turned on as Woona stood on the button, but Woona didn't notice. It was time. She galloped across the Lino tiles, hooves clopping on the floor. She spread out her wings in preparation. She jumped into the air. She started to flap. It suddenly dawned on her. She was flying! The soon-to-be Princess of the night was flying! Woona wasn't actually flying, but just being floated along by the fan's breeze. But now is no time to be ruining a fillies fun, is it? Meanwhile, back in the living room, the colt was doing some light reading about the elements of Harmony. They seemed to be somewhat of a myth instead of a legend, due to the fact that rarely anypony had any proof that they were real. 'Harmony' was so enraptured in the book that he didn't notice that Woona had disappeared. It was only when he heard a small cry for help that he realised his Captivator was no longer in the living room. He dashed through the unfamiliar halls until he reached the place of the cry for help's origin; the kitchen. Woona's head was enveloped with a cookie jar, and she was running around like crazy, trying to get the jar off. The sweet sound of Harmony's voice relaxed Woona, allowing him to take the jar of he head. After looking into Harmony's deep sweet brown eyes, the Princess of the Night began to sob into his shoulder. At that moment, Faust and Celestia burst into the room to assist Harmony and and Woona. Celestia groaned as she and her little Sister were told off; mainly because Tia hadn't done anything. Harmony was thanked for rescuing. Luna, and was allowed to stay in one of the guest rooms. As he got used to his new room, the two young Princesses had to stay downstairs to have a 'Mother to Daughter' conversation. After scoldings and more boring stuff, Celestia couldn't fight the urge. It had been in her mind since this morning. "What is the matter? Today you have been acting strangely weird. First you forgot to raise the sun and lower the moon until I reminded you, then you got angry at me for being nice to a colt with Amnesia, now you're getting mad at me even though I haven't done anything! Why are you acting like this?" The sudden abruptness of Tia's question made Lauren's right eye twitch with anger. The two blocked their ears for the sudden rampage their Mother was about to go on, but it never came. Lauren remembered that her children had no idea why she was acting this way. It was time to explain. "I... I just want you to be ready. I want you to be able to look after yourselves, and be able to be good Princess for when... *sigh* I suppose I will have to go on, won't I? i can't just leave you without the foggiest idea what I am on about. The truth is I'm leaving. I can't take it anymore, being in a castle with so many memories of him, and it is about time I move on. Tomorrow, you will wake up to see none of me, for I will already be gone. Where am I going? I don't know. But just know I won't be coming back. I am so sorry." Celestia and Luna looked teary-eyed at their Mother. Nothing mattered anymore. Celestia was no longer listening to where they would be staying at who with, but she did pick up she'd be living in a castle in the Everfree forest. But she didn't know why she was listening. Luna was all ears, but Tia's mind drifted elsewhere. What would she do with Harmony?
