Sonic Boom to Sonic Rainboom

Author’s note: Hey guys thanks for reading my first fanfic. As a quick disclaimer I’d like to say that these characters belong to Lauren Faust, Hasbro, Sega, Sonic Team, and their respective owners.


Prologue:




It was a regular night in Ponyville, the temperature was balmy, wind gentle, and not a sound could be heard. Lying on my bed I stared up at the cloud ceiling. Though the night was peaceful, I just couldn’t lull myself to sleep, there was this strange feeling in my stomach that kept me awake, like I was anticipating something. After a few minutes, I walked to the balcony to see if I could at least take advantage and do some flying.
Then it happened, there was a blast of both sound and light. Along with that, there was a faint yell. Nervously, I peer down to see a figure lying on the ground. Soon after soaring down to get a closer look, I am both scared for and (admittedly) a bit scared of it. It had an odd body shape with a spiky head and things on the ends of his fore legs that had structures similar to spikes claws. The bottoms of his hind legs were covered with red shoes. Cautiously, I asked for his name, but he was out cold. Scooping him on my back I darted toward the Ponyville Hospital.
In the blink of an eye, we were there. After explaining what happened to Nurse Redheart best I could, it was checked in to a room. Doctor Whooves went in and did whatever doctors do when their patient is passed out. I returned home and thought ‘I wonder who and what in Equestria that creature could be?’

Chapter 1: Unknown From M.E.

         
        Usually, I don’t wake up at dawn; however that day was an exception. I wanted to see if the creature had woken up. As I passed by The Sugar Cube Corner, I heard a familiar voice say “Hey Dashie, why you up so early?” My friend Pinkie Pie questioned. 
She was a pink mare with an untamed cotton candy mane and tail, and balloons for a cutie mark.
 “Can’t talk now Pinkie, I’m in a hurry!” I responded.
        The hospital had its usual overly clean feeling as I asked the mare at the front desk if the creature was awake and if I could see it. 
“To my knowledge he’s still unconscious. I’m surprised that there isn’t even a scratch on him. If you want you could visit now thought.” 
“Thank you”I said she told me what room he was in. 
‘At least now I know it’s a guy’ I though, as I strode into the room. The window was open and light shone on his blue eye lids. His coat was a darker shade of blue than mine, and sure enough he looked like didn’t have any cuts, bruises, or anything. ‘Odd,’ I mused. He wore alabaster (What were they called again?) gloves and his (What was it?) hands. (I think that’s what they’re called anyways)
        A few minutes (Or was it hours. I was so lost in thought that I lost track of time) later he started to move. The moment he regained consciousness he shot into a sitting position yelling, “TAILS, KNUCKLES, AMY, SHADOW LOOK OUT!” 
“Whoa there, calm down, your safe.” I reassured.
        He looked around the room, obviously puzzled. 
“Where am I, if you don’t mind me asking miss…?” His voice was confident, but his tone had a sense of urgency. 
“Rainbow Dash, I won best flier in Equestria I’m sure you’ve heard of me, and you’re in Ponyvile Hospital. I found you blacked out on the ground and brought you here, and who are you?” I asked. 
“Well thank you, but I haven’t even heard of Equestria, let alone its best flier, and as for my name I’m Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.”
Just then Dr. Whooves came in. 
“Ah, you’re awake, Mr. Sonic was it?” He inquired. 
“Yeah, that’s my name!” He said springing to his feet.
“Now I strongly recommend you rest up a bit.” Whooves suggested nervously.
“No, that won’t be necessary.  I feel great.” Sonic retorted.
“Still I’d take it easy, you had a huge fall.” I remarked.
“I would but I gotta get back home as soon as possible, my friends are in trouble.”
And with that, he was gone.

Chapter 2: For True Story

I sped to the reception desk to catch up with him, but he was nowhere to be seen. I look outside and see a blue figure standing on a hill in the distance. The thought ‘How did he get there so fast?’ raced through my mind. In a moment I was next to him.
“What do you mean your friends are in trouble, where are you even from?” I inquired when I reached the hill a moment later.
“You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you.” He answered, with a downhearted tone to his voice, most likely from realizing that going to his home would be tougher than expected.
“Try me.”
“Well I think that I’m from another world.”
I was shocked at that. ‘What, an alien? Makes sense, but he could be dangerous.’ My thoughts still frantic, I lifted from the ground to get to eye level with him, and blurted what was on my mind out.
“Are you some kind of spy or scout for a people trying to take us over?”
“What?” Sonic’s expression made me feel very foolish. “Of course not, why would I do tha…”
“Never mind, I was just thinking out loud.” I interrupted, obviously embarrassed.
“Anyways,” He continued. “I come from a place named Mobius. It was a nice place with lush forests, towering mountains, open oceans, and many different kinds of people.”
“That’s kinda similar to here,” I cut in. “We have all those things. Well most, I don’t know what a ‘people’ is but maybe somepony does.”
“In my world you would be called a person, the singular of people.” He explained “What, do you just call each other ponies?” 
“Yeah.”
“But what about the ones that aren’t ponies?”
“Most folks around here are ponies.”
“Odd. Well back to what I was saying, life was (and still is) good, but one day a mad man named Dr. Robotnik, my friend just call him Eggman to tease him, came along and started to turn everyone into robots.” The anger in his eyes was building.
“Let me guess he wanted to take over the world.” I assumed.
“You got it.” He confirmed “To this day I’m not sure why, but I took it upon myself to stop him, and every time he’s up to something my friends and I always put a stop to it.”
“Everypony must love you.” I smiled.
“Yeah they’ve called me a lot of great things, a hero, savior, and my personal favorite the ‘fastest thing alive.’” A confident smirk came to his face at that last part.
“Oh no, I’m the fastest around here.” I corrected. 
“Yeah I saw your speed considering how fast you got up here, but I hope that wasn’t top speed.” Sonic said matter-of-factly.
“Trust me it’s not.” I assured my patience starting to wear thin. “And if you’re as fast as you say, prove it by running to the Sugar Cube Corner, that’s the house with the cupcake roof, and back.”
Sonic ran off and a half second later he was back. I was totally slack jawed. How could he be that fast without wings?
“Oh man, you should see the look on your face.” He laughed. 
I shook my head to regain my composure.
“That’s it I challenge you to a race.” I challenged.
“Normally, I’d be happy to oblige, but I’ve gotta save my friends.” He reminded me.
My rage dissipated as I agitatedly asked, “What happened, is that Eggman guy involved?”
“Him and the chaos emeralds, as usual. The master emerald was involved too this time.” Sonic responded.
“The what?”
“The seven chaos emeralds. They’re mystical gems that contain almost unlimited power, and the master emerald is even more powerful so naturally; ol’ baldy and I try to collect them all before the other does. Well that’s true of the chaos emeralds, Knuckles looks after the master emerald”
“W-Wow.” Was all I could muster. He’d clearly had been through a lot of stuff.
“Before I woke up here, he had trapped me along with the emeralds, which I assume teleported me here when he blasted me with chaos energy and are around here somewhere. Eggman was about to attack my friends when it happened and, next thing I knew I was in Ponyville”
I couldn’t believe it. It was all so unreal, yet I could just tell he was honest. A rush of thoughts came over me. Then I got determined.
“Sonic I’m going to help you.” I assured him. “I think I know someponies that can help too.”
“Thanks.” He told me with a smile.

Chapter 3: Sonic-You Can Do Anything:

We started to head back when something weird happened. Screams of terror filled the air and ponies were panicking. Right before Fluttershy there was a massive metal creature. It was orange and looked a bit like an egg with arms and legs. Where a face should be were lights and markings that vaguely resembled a face. In its hand was a lance.
“What is that thing, and will it hurt Fluttershy.” I asked nervously.
“It’s an egg pawn, one of Eggman’s robots, and it’s not hurting anyone on my watch.”
With that he ran off. As soon as he was about ten feet from it the egg pawn started to reel back. Sonic jumped into the air spinning into a ball as he did so. The ball charged towards the robot and bounced off leaving a pile of rubble. After striking a mid-air pose, Sonic proceeded to curl once more and repeat the process to the other machines. 
As Sonic bounded of the last egg pawn a group of about fifty more manifested out of thin air. Without even breaking pace Sonic landed and ran at them. He sped up as a blue aura formed around him. The aura protected Sonic as he barreled through the egg pawns, knocking them up and turning them to scrap.
As he came to a stop Sonic bounced in the air caught himself with one of his hands and whirled this legs and body around. Following this he spun on one hand, and went on to lay on his side with one hand holding his head up, one leg ached in front of the other, and the other hand pointing toward just above his legs.
“That was amazing.” I told him still in awe.
“Ehh, it was nothing.” He responded after springing to his feet.
        “Nothing? You single-handedly just stopped like seventy egg pawns!”
“I’d have to agree with Rainbow,” Said a voice that came from a violet mare. She had a purple mane with pink streaks in it. Her cutie mark was that of a burst of magic. “That was very impressive.”
“Hey Twilight.” I smiled at my friend.
“Good morning Rainbow, who’s your friend.” 
        “I’m Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.” He informed her.
        “Pleased to meet you Sonic, I’m Twilight Sparkle.” She told him. “Where are you from?”
        “That’s kind of a long story.” Sonic said.
        “Gather the others Twilight, I want them to hear.” I demanded.

> Down in the Base

Chapter 4: Down in the Base

“I guess McNose-Hair found out that I’m here, and started to send egg pawns over.” Sonic concluded his story.
Silence fell over the library. Everypony was letting the situation sink in for a bit. Even though I knew the answer I couldn’t help thinking ‘Could this be true?’ I knew we had to help him. He may not be showing it, but I could tell he was worried. His situation reminded me of when I was stuck at the bottom of Ghastly Gorge. I thought I would be stuck there forever. When all hope was lost my pet tortoise Tank came to my rescue. Just like I need help then, Sonic needed help now.
“Come on you guys, we need to help him.” I broke the silence.
“Rainbow’s right.” A weak voice claimed. It came from Fluttershy. She was a shy mare, though she warmed up to Sonic quickly after he saved her life. Her coat was yellow with a pink mane. Butterflies covered her flank.
“Ah reckon it’s the least we could do.” Applejack agreed. She always wore a hat over her blond mane, which she tied toward the bottom. Her fur was deep orange, with apples on her flank.
“Let’s do it!” Pinkie bounced.
“Sounds like a plan.” Twilight coincided.
“If those gems are needed I can find them in an instant.” Rarity added, her curled purple mane flowing against her white body as she showed him her diamond cutie mark.
        “Guy’s before we head off, can you tell me something?” Sonic asked.
        “Sure.” I told him.
        “What’s with those tattoos on your sides?”
“Those are our cutie marks,” Twilight explained. “They appear when a pony finds their special talent, and it signals what that talent is.” 
“Oh, that’s pretty interesting.” 
“Don’t you get something similar?” Pinkie asked.
“Not really.”
A knock came to the door.
“I’ll get it!” Said Spike. He was a purple baby dragon with green scales going down his spine. He was also Twilight’s number one assistant.
When the door swung open and the Mayor, a tan pony with a gray mane and scroll cutie mark, and Princes Celestia, a white pony with a flowing rainbow mane and sun for a cutie mark, were on the other side. The seven of us bowed as is customary, and Sonic eventually caught-on and kneeled down with his head hung and an arm across his chest.
“Good evening Princess Celestia and madam Mayor, how can we help you?” Twilight asked.
“Good evening, my prized pupil,” The Princes began. “We were told that the hero that saved all Ponyville was here.” Her eyes scanned the room. “And that would be him, I take it.” She pointed at Sonic.
We all rose as he said. “Yes.”
“What is your name?” The royal mare asked with a smile.
“I’m Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!” He responded.
“Do you always have to introduce yourself like that?” I cut in.
“Sorry, force of habit.” He looked back to Celestia. 
“Well Mr. Sonic, thank you for saving our town.” The mayor said.
Sonic just smiled.
“I’d like to thank you as well. Who knows what they would have done to all of Equestria if you didn’t stop them.” Celestia added.
        “Seriously, it was nothing.” Sonic said with a smug grin.
        “Now where are you from?” Celestia questioned.
        Sonic summarized his tale.
        “So you must collect these emeralds to return to your world?” Celestia rephrased.
        “Yeah.”  Sonic Confirmed.
“Well in that case I’ll provide somewhere for you to spend the night.” The Mayor offered. 
Outside Luna’s starry night could be seen.
“Thanks, but that won’t be necessary.” Sonic corrected. “I don’t really have a house at the moment so I just sleep in a tree or on a plain or something.”
“Well if that’s what you want to do, but please make yourself at home.” The mayor told him.
Looks like you are all in for a big day tomorrow so we’ll leave you to sleep.” Celestia said.
After saying our good byes we all headed home, except for Sonic who decided to sleep on the leaves of the library. Tomorrow the hunt would begin.

> Super Sonic Racing

Chapter 5: Super Sonic Racing

The next morning I woke up and went through my normal routine. Get out of bed, eat some cereal, stretch out, and fix the weather. After that I met up with Sonic in Ponyville town square.
“Hey Rainbow, what was with you moving the clouds around?” He asked.
“What do you mean? Doesn’t anypony fix the weather in your world?” I responded.
“No nature usually sorts itself… LOOK OUT!” He jumped in the air and pushed me as a bright yellow-orange light crossed behind him.
“Whoa, thanks.”
We looked to where the shot came from. There a metallic version of sonic stood. It had a hole in its chest with yellow plates going in to it. He had claws instead of fingers.
“Well if it isn’t Metal Sonic.” Sonic taunted.
“Metal Sonic?” I pondered.
“Inferior robotic copy of me.” Sonic clarified.
“Incoming transmission.” It said in a voice that echoed and fluctuated in an unnatural way.
Suddenly, Metal’s red eyes turned blue and an image popped out. 
“Hohoho-ohoh *cough* *cough*.” A pale hair less ape with a tuft of hair under his nose broke out.
“Don’t hurt yourself.” Sonic said sarcastically.
“I would… *cough* *cough* …n’t worry about me. Not when Metal here is tracking an emerald near a clearing with a ruin in a forest.” The ape corrected.
“Why would you tell us that?” I asked.
“Because…,” He searched for a justification as a smug grin came to our faces. “Shut up!”
“Looks like you got him! Good job rainbow.” Sonic congratulated. “Now where is this ruin?”
“It’s in that direction,” I pointed to the Everfree Forest. “But it’s really dangerous.”
“Never stopped me before!” He remarked as he darted out.
The doppelganger chased after him, and so did I. We were neck and neck trying to whack each other. A blue blur was headed to the Everfree Forest right ahead of us. Just before it entered the Forest I caught up alongside it, managing to knock Metal Sonic away. The blur shaped into the familiar hedgehog when I caught up alongside it. 
“Wow I’m impressed, you really are fast!” He congratulated, trees zooming around us.
“Well I hope this isn’t top speed.” I quoted.
“Trust me, it’s not.” He quoted back. 
The replica caught up again. Flames shot out of its back and its “eyes” were focused on us.
“Allow me.” Sonic boasted.
He leaped into the air curled up and shot at his twin who was sent rolling on the ground.
“How do you do that?” I asked
“What, the homing attack?” He wanted to know.
“I guess so.”
“I just jump and air dash at the target.”
Behind us Lightning was surging. Metal Sonic was incased in it. I flew over and sonic jumped it managing to homing attack the robot when it went ahead.
“That thing doesn’t give up!” I commented.
The Everfree forest has always been weird, but something was even more amiss. A slope curled into a ceiling and then sloped down to the ground. Sonic showed no sign of going around the loop.
“Come on,” I started. “You’re not thinking of going around that loop, are you?”
Sonic sped up. He went up the slope, his feet slowing at the top then he rolled into a ball letting gravity work for him.
“You’re just full of surprises.” I told him.
“Thanks!”
Metal sonic was once again hot on our trail and coming up fast.
 “That’s it I’m sick of this!” He impatiently yelled. “Rainbow prepare for top speed.” I could tell he meant business. 
The aura formed around him again. I did my best to keep up. A rainbow colored aura began to form around me as Metal Sonic was getting farther and farther away. ‘I’ve never done this without gravity helping me. I hope I can now.’ A moment later, we both broke the sound barrier. I peered behind me as a rainbow materialized behind me. ‘I did it!’ Behind Sonic was a blue afterimage. 
“Whoa!” He exclaimed as he looked at me. “I’m not sure what’s more amazing; the rainbow, or the fact that you can keep up!”
I smiled. Soon a green light was shining behind a rope bridge. Sonic jumped the gap and grabbed the light. 
“We got it!” I yelled.
We bro-hooved as Metal Sonic came up.
“Incoming transmission.” He repeated.
“I’m a busy man Sonic, so I’ll cut to the chase.” The creature announced. “Give me the seven chaos emeralds or your friends get it.”
He lifted a yellow fox with gloves into view. He had red and white shoes and… TWO TAILS!
“Sonic…” He weakly pleaded.
“TAILS!” Sonic shouted. “Eggman let him go!”
“Let’s strike a deal.” He proposed. “I’m sure you saw that loop, it’s but one of many things that will crossover. In 48 hours the crossover will be complete, you have until then to hand over the emeralds!”

Chapter 6: We Can

Sonic fell to his knees and pounded the ground in frustration. I couldn’t help but shed a tear.
“Looks like you’re at my mercy for once!” Eggman gloated. “HOHOHO-OH-HOHO!!!”
“THAT’S IT!” I yelled.
As baldy laughed, I bucked Metal Sonic as hard as I could. When my hooves reached the metallic hedgehogs cheek, he flew to a tree and burst into scrap.
“Come on Sonic,” I tried to comfort. “You’ve been through worse, right?”
“Yeah, but I’ve never had so much on the line!” He said in a melancholy tone.
“What do you mean?”
“Two worlds, new friends, and old friends are all at stake.” He enlightened. “Granted that happened before but those were all in books.”
“What?”
“I’ve been sucked into two books, literally!”
I was dumb founded.
“I don’t know the slightest thing about this huge world,” Sonic continued, “And we only have this chaos emerald to dowse with.”
“Come on let’s head back, I’m sure the others can help.”
“Yeah.” He sighed.

“So that’s what happened.” I finished the story.
Sonic was still bummed out, but the run back cheered him up a bit.
“That’s horrible.” Fluttershy said in a meager and shocked voice.
“It ain’t right.” Applejack agreed.
“Down right barbaric, if you ask me.” Rarity added.
“How could anypony be so cruel?” Twilight pondered.
Pinkie’s cheerful demeanor was replaced with a glum one. She wasn’t quite sure what to say.
‘I have to say something,’ Was all the only thought going through my mind.
I tried to look confident and said, “So what if the worlds rest on our shoulders again?”

“Again?” Sonic asked.
“We’ve saved Equestria twice already.” Twilight clarified.
“Well that’s reassuring.” Sonic smiled.
“We can do it again,” I continued. “With Sonic here it’ll be even easier. We have an emerald we can find the others in no time at all!”
“Especially, with my gem finding spell.” Rarity added.
“Spell, as in magic? Sonic asked.
“Unicorns can do magic.” Spike stepped in. “Now what did she say about an emerald?”
“Oh, uhh,” Sonic pulled the chaos emerald out, and showed it to Spike. “Here it is.”
Spike drooled as he announced, “Oh I can’t help myself!”
“No, don’t!” We all yelled as tried to bite into it.
Instead of the gem being broken, it zapped Spike and sent him flying across the room. He slammed into a bookshelf, and knocked the books all over himself. His mouth was smoking as he sat up and groaned.
“Sorry, I’d have warned you if I knew you’d try to eat it.” Sonic said.
“You knew?” I asked.
“I tried to destroy the emeralds once to keep Eggman from using them.” He elaborated. “It didn’t really work out.”
“Well Equestria’s huge!” Twilight got back on topic. “How do we find the overs?” 
“The chaos emeralds are attracted to each other.”  Sonic explained. “They react to each other.”
“Really?” I asked. “Let me see.”
As Sonic passed me the emerald its power was apparent. The power coursed through my veins and the emerald glowed in my hooves. 
“Wow,” Sonic commented. “I’ve never seen the emeralds this way to anyone but myself.”
“Maybe it’s ‘cause of the elements o’ harmony.” Applejack suggested.
“Elements of harmony?” Sonic was puzzled.
“They’re objects of power.” Twilight explained. “But they represent the elements that go into harmony, and we represent one element each.
“I’m laughter!” Pinkie declared.
“I would be Generosity.” Rarity stated.
“Ah’m honesty.” Applejack said.
“I’m kindness.” Fluttershy mumbled.
“My element is magic.” Twilight added.
“And I’m loyalty.” I boasted.
“That’s pretty cool!” Sonic said excitedly. “So these elements like your equivalents to the emeralds?”
“I guess.” Twilight said. “But we’re the only ponies that can use them. They’ve come in handy before though, we used them to petrify Discord and turn Nightmare Moon back into Princes Luna.”
“Not even gonna ask how that works.” Sonic scratched his head. “Gather the elements if you’re coming along though, we may need them.”
“Okay, we’ll meet up in town square in ten minutes.” Twilight said.
We all went to get our elements. The gold necklace with ruby in the shape of a lightning bolt fit perfectly around my neck.  I sped back to town square. Something caught my eyes on the way back. For a split second I thought a cloud was pink. It was nowhere to be found when I took a second look. I shrugged it off.
“Hey Rainbow!” He was stretching out his legs.
“Hey Sonic, is anypony else here?” I greeted
“Nope, you’re the first, as expected.”
Some time passed and one by one everypony showed up.
“You girls sure you wanna go through with this?” Sonic seemed legitimately worried.  “Admittedly, this is all my fault.”
“What do you mean?”  I was puzzled.
“I got too cocky and Eggman managed to capture my friends and me.” His hands curled up in anger.
“Sonic we’re sticking by you.” I asserted.
“I won’t stop you, but if you change your minds it’s okay.”
Sonic took out the emerald and stared in to it. Slowly, he spun around. The blue hedgehog eventually stopped.
“There.” He pointed to an open path.
“That’s toward mah apple orchard.” Applejack announced.
“Let’s go!” Sonic and I blasted off leaving everypony in the dust.
It was a short jog to the field when we stopped.
“This is about as reactive as the emerald is going to get.” Sonic told us as the others caught up. 
“Well, *puff* leave it to m-me.*pant*” Rarity told us. With a grunt her horn came to light. It pulled her forward.  After about thirty seconds we reached a glowing light, and Sonic and I sped forward. 
“Two more!” I announced as we picked the emeralds. One was silver, and the other the same hue of purple as Twilight’s mane.
“That makes three out of seven!” Twilight pointed the obvious out.
“But I have the fourth!” A male voice that everyponies hearts sink said.

> It Doesn't Matter

Chapter 7: It Doesn’t Matter

Behind us was a combination of a dragon, a pony, a ram, and tons of other things.
“This guy looks like trouble.” The cocky smirk returned to Sonic’s face.
“Very close little hedgehog, but still wrong.” The draconequus said. “I am Discord, ruler of all things chaos.”
“Discord? I though you guys sealed him away!” Sonic looked to us.
“We did.” Everypony but Fluttershy, who was cowering behind a tree, screamed. We were all ready for a fight.
“Ah but the stone prison failed!” Discord happily announced.
“Well what do you want from us?!” I Demanded.
“Those emeralds.” Discord elaborated.
“Over my dead body!” Sonic defied.
“Come now; let’s not let it come to that.” Discord snapped his fingers.
A pink force field shot up, isolating Discord and Sonic. I tried pushing it but the shield deformed slightly, then popped back into a bubble.
“You know your quest is in vain.” He started to wrap around sonic. “Just give up.”
We knew what was happening all too well. As fast as we could we channeled energy into the elements. Nothing happened.
“What’s going on?” Twilight said.
“The elements don’t seem to be working.” Rarity pointed the obvious out.
“Sonic, don’t listen to ‘im!” Applejack yelled at the top of her lungs, but it was too late.
Sonic’s eyes had multi-colored circles that shrunk down to his pupils. His body was losing its color, but very slowly. Could sonic be resisting it?
“If you save your friends the world is doomed,” The mish-mash of creature’s worked on breaking Sonic’s will. “And if you don’t Robotnick will kill everyone!”
His grip on Sonic loosened and Sonic fell to his hands and knees. 
“Gu-guh.” He was shaking violently.
“Don’t give up Sonic! Fight it!” I tried to help him.
“You can do it!” Everypony cheered on.
The black shadow was up to his neck by now. Discord was smiling from ear to ear as he turned to us and waved. I scowled at the taunt, and bucked the pink shield with all my might.  No good, the shield just bent in a little and launched my legs back, knocking me off balance. 
“I… I,” Sonic muttered. “I…” 
“Don’t give up, you never do that’s what makes you, you.” I yelled. “Anypony else would have just given up if they were in your situation, but you didn’t!”
“I…” Sonic continued. “I WILL NEVER QUIT!” Sonic shouted as the shadow flushed out, and was replaced with an aura of light.
“NO!” Discord shrieked in denial as the light shattered his shield. “THAT’S IMPOSIBLE!”
“I have a talent for making the impossible happen.” Sonic gloated as the light dissipated. On his wrist was a golden ring (Sonic said it’s called a bracelet) with a dark blue gem in the shape of semi-flat chaos emerald. 
Sonic flashed up to Discord and sent a curved kick right to Discord’s cheek. (We would have felt guilty, if it was anypony else) Discord came flying at us and AJ bucked him into the air as a reflex. Sonic whipped the chaos emerald out and screamed “Chaos control!” In the blink of an eye Sonic was right above discord and dropped his heel on the draconequus. The “ruler of all things chaos” slammed into the ground and Sonic landed on one knee with both hand on the ground. Discord had passed out.
“That’s for messing with my head.” Sonic squatted to Discord’s ear.
“Now let’s get rid of him.” Twilight suggested.
“How the elements didn’t work before?” Fluttershy asked.
Twilight pointed to Sonic’s wrist.
“When did that get there?” Sonic stared at the sapphire. 
“After the blast of light.” I told him. 
“I believe it’s the seventh element of harmony!” Twilight excitedly announced. “The element of tenacity.”
“Really?” He studied the bracelet. “Cool, let’s give it a shot!”
We all closed our eyes in concentration. Soon we lifted from the ground. Twilight’s eyes glowed as they opened as a giant rainbow spun around us and shot towards Discord petrifying him instantly. Our hooves/feet touched the ground after the blast.
“That was awesome!” Sonic was elated.
“Yeah but Sonic, how did you get to Discord so quickly when Applejack kicked him up.” I started. “I knew you were fast but I couldn’t any see movement.”
“Like I said, the emeralds are powerful.” Sonic explained. “When I pulled it out I used chaos control to warp up to him.” He looked at the position Discord was frozen in. “You think I over did it?”
“Maybe a little.” Twilight responded.
“Well, let’s go find the other emeralds!” Sonic got ready to run.
“Doesn’t Discord have one?” Fluttershy reminded.
“Oh, right.” Sonic looked to the floor.
Just behind the stone draconequus was a yellow emerald.
“How are they emeralds if they’re not all green?” Rarity questioned as Sonic picked it up.
“I didn’t name them.” Sonic answered. “Now we can go.”
“It’s kind of late though.” I answered. 
The moon was rising from the horizon and Luna’s handy work was slowly setting in.
“Yeah, I guess we’ll find the others tomorrow.”

[Author’s Note: Sorry this one took so long even though it’s about the normal length, I’ve been busy with stuff.]

His World

After we got back, I had some night time duty. There was a scheduled shower that night. As I moved the clouds into position, I saw Sonic lying on the roof of the library. I flew down onto the tree.
“Sonic, are you sure you don’t want to sleep indoors?” I asked Sonic. “There’s rain scheduled for tonight.”
“Where would I stay?” Sonic sat up. “I don’t wanna mooch off you girls, you’ve done enough to help me. The only money I’d have for a hotel is rings!”
“Rings?”
Sonic reached into his quills and pulled out a ring. It was about 3 inches wide and golden.
“I don’t suppose these aren’t worth much here.” He let me hold the ring. It absorbed into me. 
“Ahh! What happened?!” I panicked.
“Calm down, you can call it out whenever you want.” He said. “But I’d keep it; it’ll keep you safe when you would normally get seriously hurt.”
“Why didn’t you give us these earlier?”
“Honestly, they slipped my mind.”
“Well back to the rain issue, I guess I could punch a hole in the clouds so it won’t rain on you.”
“You can do that?”
“Yeah, I may get in a bit of trouble with the rest of the weather team, but I’m sure they’ll understand. Besides I’m in charge anyway.”
“Thanks!” Sonic lay down with his hands behind his head.
I flew up and removed the dark clouds from the area around Twilight’s home. I looked down at Sonic, who stuck up the left most finger on his right hand. I flew down to him.
“What’s that you’re doing with your hand?” I stared at the gesture.
“It’s called a thumbs up, it means thanks, good job, yes, that kinda thing.” He explained.
“Oh.” I looked at the stars. “You know Sonic, the more you mention your world, and the cooler it sounds. I’m actually kind of happy that our world will combine.”
“Thanks!” His gaze turned towards the stars. “Man, have I got some stories.”
“I can only imagine.”
“If you want I could just tell you one.”
“Really, aren’t you tired?”
“No.” He scooted over a bit giving me space to lie down. “What do you want to hear about? The time I saved Station Square from the god of destruction, the time when Shadow and I saved the world from being crashed into by the ark, or…”
“I wanted to know what happened before you got here to be honest.” I cut him off.  Sonic silently stared into the stars. “But saving that station place sounds awesome too.”
“No Rainbow, it’s okay, I’ll tell you what happened.” His voice was somber.

It was a normal summer day; the sun was shining, wind was slow, and Eggman had a plan brewing. Tails and I were going off to stop him and we ran in to some friends along the way. Amy followed as usual. Eggman took the master emerald so Knuckles was on his way as well. Amy’s a pink hedgehog but her quills go down not out like mine. Knuckles is a red echidna. Shadow, a black hedgehog with red streaks in his quills, was on a government mission in the area. He decided to help us since he wrapped whatever he was doing up .
We ran into; eggpawns, traps, the usual.  Then we stormed his base in the Mystic Ruins, and things went downhill from there. We were blind sighted by a replica of e102-γ, one of Eggman’s robots that went rogue. I managed to come out okay, but Amy got a bit messed up. We pushed on though, Tails lending Amy some rings.
Eventually, we were surrounded by robots that were bigger than usual. They looked like giant, silver eggpawns with war hammers.  Knuckles tried to punch them, no effect. Amy swung her hammer, not even a dent. Tails swung his tails, nothing happened. Shadow and I tried to homing attack it, no luck either, we bounced off. Then tails and I locked hands and began spinning in place. We sped toward them, still rolling in a giant ball of destruction. That did the trick but we were all pretty beat up.
“Maybe we should go back.” Knuckles suggested.
“Come on knuckles,” I denied. “We’re almost to Eggman.”
“Okay I guess you’re right.” I heard the worry in his voice.
We should have turned back when we had the chance, but I was too stubborn. When we got to Eggman he was ready for us. Oh man was he ready for us. He managed to knock out my friends out and capture me. I tried to use the chaos emeralds, but Eggman used the master emerald to blast me with chaos energy. Next thing I knew I was here in Ponyville.

I let what he told me sink in. Man he did mess up. Thanks to his arrogance all of Equestria and Mobius were in danger. Still Sonic didn’t do it on purpose, and I would probably make the same mistake. Besides even if I was mad, which I wasn’t, he was our only hope. Besides, he was a friend in need and I always help my friends.
“Come on Sonic it’s not your fault.” I tried to comfort.
“Yes it is.” He said in a melancholy tone. “If I wasn’t so over confident maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
A gloomy silence fell over us for a little while.
“But on the bright side,” Sonic broke the silence. “If this never happened, I never would have met you guys.”
“Yeah!” I lifted from the tree. “Well good night.”
“Night.” Sonic responded.
‘Don’t worry Sonic, we’ll find the other three emeralds.’ I thought as I arrived home.

> Escape From the City

Escape from the City:

“Man, this place reminds me of Empire City!” Sonic reminisced.
The emerald had led us to Manehattan. The city lights shone brightly, and everypony on the street had somewhere to be. Something was very off though. Buildings that didn’t look equestrian were littered throughout the city.
“Maybe the two cities are combining.” Applejack commented.  “Ah don’t remember some of these buildings from when I was a filly.”
“Huh,” Sonic closed his eyes in thought. “I wonder when people will start crossing over.”
“Does Celestia know about what’s happening?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah,” Twilight responded. “I had Spike send a letter explaining the whole situation to her before we set out to find the emerald yesterday. That reminds me she said found an emerald and is holding it for us.”
“How do you forget something like that?” I poked.
“Since it’s in safe hands and all, I guess it slipped my mind.” She responded embarrassedly.
“Well that means we only need to find two of the lovely gems.” Rarity looked up, her horn still surrounded by a light blue aura.
“How close are we?” Sonic sounded antsier than usual.
 “Sonic, are you okay?” Fluttershy asked.
Sonic was cut off by a rumbling sound that came from his stomach. “Guess I’m hungry. Man, what I wouldn’t do for a…” Sonic shielded his eyes from a flash of light ahead of him.
After the flash a creature that looked similar to Eggman stood. The creature was behind a metal cart with a parasol. The parasol was yellow and red with the words, “Hotdogs” written on it. Sonic ran to the man who smiled at him.
“Boy is it good to see you.” The man said. “What’s going on here? Why is everyone a pony?”
“It’s a long story.” Sonic responded.  “But accept whatever form of money they offer and only try to sell vegidogs. As for me though, I’ll have two of the usual.”
“Coming right up.” The man announced as he reached into the cart and pulled out 2 red tubes. He put the tubes on buns and covered them in a brownish-red lumpy liquid. “That’ll be ten rings.”
Sonic handed over a stack of rings, and took the treat.
“Whatcha got there?” Applejack studied what was in his hand.
“It’s called a chilidog.” He turned to us. Then he took a bite out of it.
“That doesn’t look very appetizing.” Rarity commented.
“Is it made of dogs?” Applejack asked nervously.
“No, it’s mostly pork and beef.” He said as he moved on to his second chilidog.
“There’s still meat in those.” Twilight said.
“Excuse me if I eat meat.” Sonic said with a snarky tone of voice.
After Sonic was done eating we kept going. 
“I wonder why nopony is freaking out over the changes.” Pinkie blurted out.
Twilight explained, “Princess Celestia said that she’d spread the word.”
“That’s good, we don’t need any commotion.” Sonic said. “Are we close to the emerald Rarity?”
“We should be almost there!” Rarity responded.
We moved through the crowd. After about 5 minutes of walking, Rarity stopped in front of a huge building. I assumed it came from Sonic’s world, because I was built unlike any tower I had seen before. The walls seemed to be made of a black glass.
“It’s there.” She said.
“Where?” Applejack asked.
“Up there.” Rarity pointed her head toward.
“How do we get up there?” Pinkie turned her head about 45◦.
“Same as the last time you asked that.” I flapped my wings.
“Oh, yeah.” She said.
I flew up to the top of the building. I looked down at my friend and saw everypony was slack jawed.  ‘It’s not like I’m doing anything special. Wait where’s Sonic.’ I though. Then I shifted my view, and to my surprise he was dashing up the side of the building.
“You never cease to amaze me.” I told Sonic as I moved next to him.
In a few seconds we were up the building.
Sonic announced as he picked the red gem up, “One more left!”
As he said this, the ground rumbled. Then a green fire ball rush towards us from the ground.
In front of us a tall, green, vaguely alicorn shaped creature, full of holes appeared in front of us.
“Chrysalis?!” I was shocked. 
“Ah you remember me.” She spoke in a calm yet incredibly cold tone of voice.
“Who’s this?” Sonic asked.
“I am Chrysalis, queen of the changelings!” She boasted.
“Changelings?” Sonic was ready for a fight.
“They take the form of a loved one and suck the energy out of you.” I explained.
“That’s horrible!” He exclaimed.
“What you call horrible is what I call life.” Chrysalis said.
Without a moment’s notice, she charged at Sonic. When she came to a stop Sonic was nowhere to be seen. A second later he landed on her back.
“Do you have a hole where your brain should be, or something?” Sonic taunted, before dropping his heel on the changeling’s head.
After picking herself up the twisted alicorn acknowledged, “Looks like the good doctor was right, you are fast.”
“So you know Eggman, I take it.” I said.
“Know him; he’s the one that brought me back from my banishment!” Chrysalis declared. “And with his help, and those gems of yours I will be able to take over the world!
“Oh, so you’re the monster of the week.” Sonic taunted. (He’s really good at that)
“You will pay for your insolence!” Her army of changelings appeared behind her and began to rush us.
Sonic jumped off the building and I followed.  Somehow he managed to get his feet on the building and start running down.
“Run everypony!” I yelled when I saw my friends.
They gasped and darted back towards the direction we came. Then the weirdest thing happened, music started playing! [Escape From the City (Modern) starts to play] Looked around so was everypony else as well as they ran/flew. Sonic whistled the tune.
“Okay, I’m not going crazy.” I said.
“I was wondering if this would happen.” Sonic said.
“This is normal I assume.” I said.
“Yeah, I have no idea how it happens.” He responded.
We caught up to the others.
“Is this normal?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah.” Sonic assured.
“I don’t get why you’re complaining its really high energy!” Pinkie bounced.
“Not really my type of music, but okay non-the-less.” Rarity agreed.
We ran as fast as we could (as a group) but the changelings were catching up to us. The hotdog stand was in the way but the vendor had left.
“I have an idea!” Sonic Said.
He ran in front and curled into a ball. The spikey ball rammed into the cart turning it into metal strips. Luckily, the road was at an incline so Sonic was able to jump on the sheet of metal and slide down. Behind him were four other strips. Twilight, Pinkie, Applejack, and Rarity (who did so reluctantly) followed Sonic’s example. Fluttershy and I flew after them.
I have to say they could move pretty fast on those things, especially Sonic. He actually managed to go up hill, so he could help the others, and when he did so the blue aura appeared again. He gave our friends tips on controlling their “boards” as he calls them. Pinkie got the hang of it almost immediately, and AJ didn’t take too long either. Twilight managed it after a few minutes and Rarity took the longest to get used to it. Sonic pulled ahead of the crowd, the blue aura flashed. Luckily, no pony was on the streets, most likely because of the raging cloud of flaming changelings behind us.
“How do you do that?” I asked Sonic when I caught up.
“Do what?” He asked for clarification.
“The thing with that shell.” I explained.
“Oh, the boost. Why do you want me to explain, I saw you do it?”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, when we were racing Metal Sonic.”
“Really?!”
“I swear. It happens whenever we break the sound barrier.”
“The what?”
“It happens when you out run sound.”
“Cool!”
The distance between us and the changeling army was about the same for a while, and then it happened. In front of us was an entire other army. We were surrounded and had no way to escape.

What I’m Made Of

Sonic leapt off the board and let a loose series of homing attacks. They all hit, but the few changelings he did take out were just replaced by some other changeling in their army. Sonic processed to boost into the army, but changelings just kept coming.
“Does Anypony else have an idea?” Twilight asked when Sonic joined our huddle in the center of the circle of changelings.
“Maybe we could use the elements of harmony.” I suggested.
We went through the motions. We channeled energy into the elements, which then shot a rainbow at Chrysalis. Though she did take some damage, she just got back up.
“Hah! Is that all you’ve got?” She taunted.
The changelings were getting ready to attack.
“Girls, I think I have an idea.” Sonic whispered.
“Let’s hear it.” Applejack said.
“Channel as much energy from the elements as you can into me.” He demanded.
“What good will that do?” Rarity asked.
“Trust me on this one.”
We played along. Wisps of golden energy flowed to Sonic. Sonic had his eyes closed, letting the energy build up inside of him. Eventually, he started floating! The hedgehog curled his arms and legs in towards his torso. Then, something incredible happened. His eyes opened but instead of their regular green color they were a brilliant shade of red. Sonic shot his arms out and a flash of light covered the city, as he yelled “SUPER SONIC!” After the flash, where Sonic once floated was a yellow hedgehog with is quills flowing upwards, and a yellow aura around him.

Everypony, even Chrysalis was visibly in shock.
“S-S-Sonic?” I stuttered.
“The one and only.” He announced.
Sonic stretched his arms out, and I felt tons of energy flow through my body. I closed my eyes and felt it burning in my stomach. The energy was swelling until I had to release it. My eyes flew open and a huge flash engulfed all six ponies. Around me the other five were going through the same thing. We each compulsively announced our super forms.
My cyan fur turned golden, and my mane flowed like princes Celestia’s. The same could be said about my friends, but we were all slightly different shades of gold. Fluttershy had a group of birds surrounding her. They were all flying!
“So what, you changed the color of your coat.” Chrysalis had a façade of confidence.
“Ha!” Sonic laughed. “I wouldn’t be so sure! You see when we go into our super forms our natural abilities are increased, meaning that you outta luck.”
Sonic charged the mob. I followed soon afterwards. ‘If they want a fight, that’s what they’ll get!’ I thought. Everypony went in to the fray after me. 
Twilight used her now insanely powerful magic to blast down hoards of the freaks, which tried to emulate us but to no avail. (They didn’t have the elements) Arcane beams covered in flames flashed in front of her. Thunder and lightning raged from her horn leaving heaps of unconscious changelings on the hard pavement. Her energy seemed to never run out.
Pinkie just darted around stomping on the false ponies. She was already a dynamo without the energy Sonic shared, but with that energy she was almost scary. (But I guess we all were)
Applejack was furiously bucking away at the clones. Her hooves moved like lightning. Every changeling in her reach was sent tumbling through the air into others. 
How Fluttershy fought was probably most interesting of all. She could bash the changelings as well, but the birds or “Flickies” as Sonic calls them rammed into the changelings in the mob, savagely pecking until their targets were subdued. Sonic says Tails’ super form is similar, but I haven’t seen it yet.
As for Rarity’s attack strategy, she was able to pick up and throw objects and dazed changelings with incredible strength and accuracy.
“Reminds me of Silver, I wonder what he’s up to.” I heard Sonic mutter.
Another one of the many similarities between Sonic and I was our fighting style. We both barreled into our foes. Sonic booms/sonic rainbooms were easy to accomplish. Ribbons of blue and rainbows covered the plaza we were fighting in.
In a matter of two minutes the only things standing, or floating rather, were us seven and Chrysalis.
My friends were panting franticly. They couldn’t hold on to their super forms for much longer and I wasn’t feeling too great either.
“Rainbow, Mirror what I do from below me.” Sonic whispered.
He charged Chrysalis and I was a yard or two under him. Chrysalis charged at us. While we gained speed, we began rotating, round, and round, and round. Eventually, a giant ball of energy built up between us. Once Chrysalis saw it she tried to pull back, but it was too late. With all our might we rammed the ball into her and she fell to the ground. ‘I can’t let everypony down. Just a few more seconds.’ Was all I could think during this.
Once Sonic and I landed everypony was panting, me especially so. That last attack took a lot of energy out of me.
“I’ll be back!” Chrysalis’ voice rang.
We regressed into our normal states after she left. Sonic was the only one who didn’t look winded, probably because he was obviously used to it. I almost fell over, thankfully Sonic caught me.
“You okay?” He asked.
“I’ll be alright.” I weakly stated as, I used my wing to brace myself around Sonic’s leg. He didn’t seem to mind.
“Man, you guys took your first time going super better than most people do!” He admired. “You five should be how Rainbow is, and Dash should be passed out!”
“Thanks, Sonic!” Twilight tried to sound enthusiastic despite how tiered she was.
“Well, I guess were off to find the last emerald!” Pinkie bounce, somehow her energy had returned.
“You girls need some rest,” Sonic reminded. “Let’s get our strength back for an hour or to then we’re off.”
“Okay.” Everypony agreed.

> Blue Star

Blue Star

The train ride back to Ponyville took about two hours, so we decided to sleep. Well everypony but Pinkie and Sonic did. They weren’t tired, probably because Sonic was clearly used to the transformation, and Pinkie Pie was, well, Pinkie Pie. They moved to another car so their chat wouldn’t keep us awake.
After about two hours and a half I was the last to wake up. I stretched my back out there was an audible crack. Every pony turned to me when they heard me.
“Oh good, you’re awake!” Pinkie ran to my side.
“Yeah. So where we off to now?” I asked.
“Well, apparently the other emerald is in Canterlot.” Twilight informed. “So we’ll get both that emerald, and the emerald that Princess Celestia has.”
“Canterlot eh, that name brings back memories.” Sonic reminisced.
“Is there a place like it in your world?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yes and no, it’s kind of complicated.” Sonic said.
“Okay.” Fluttershy mumbled meekly.
I looked to the land scape. We were approaching the mountains that surrounded Canterlot. They were a light purple, almost lavender to be exact.
“We’re on our way already I take it.” I gazed out the window. 
The hills turned green with checkerboard patterns in the grass. Vibrant palm trees shot up from the ground. The sky was a deep blue with puffy clouds. Some of the hills sloped off into loops.
“Ah, Green Hill.” Sonic was by my side. “I remember the countless days of my childhood that I spent running up and down those checkered slopes.”
“Looks like a nice place.” I admired the lush scenery.
Sonic had his eyes closed and hid mouth was in a frown, “Yeah.”
“Still down about your friends?” I assumed.
“How could I not be?” He confirmed. “Tails and Knuckles are my best friends, Shadow’s a friendly rival, and though Amy can be annoying she still a friend.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll save them!” Pinkie bounded over.
“Yeah, we just need the emeralds, that’s all.” Applejack said.
“But isn’t giving something so powerful to somepony like this Eggman guy dangerous?” Fluttershy asked.
“Well at first I was worried about that, but we have the elements on our side.”
“5 minutes to Canterlot.” A pony announced before moving to another cabin.
Sonic looked back to the window, “We can’t lose!” His voice was confident.

……

“Wow, this place is amazing!” Sonic announced while we walked through the city.
The capital had grand buildings, and a huge castle. Everypony was dressed in a suit or hat or something. No pony was barren of clothing but us. We got a few strange looks but I didn’t really care. We’ve been here on occasion, be it for a play, to stop Discord, for Shining Armor’s wedding, and it was Twilight’s home town. 
“I agree! I simply adore Canterlot.” Rarity gushed.
“So, where’s that last emerald?” Applejack asked.
Once again sonic gazed into the emerald. “Well one is in that castle but it’s also on the move, I assume that’s the one that Celestia has, and one coming from that direction.” Sonic pointed to the right.
Rarity’s horn lit up, and she lowered her head. Once again, we set out. The chaos emerald was sitting in one of the castles beautiful gardens. Fluttershy felt right at home. In front of the penultimate emerald was a mare with a dark sapphire coat, and cobalt blue mane that flowed around specks of white. On her flank was an image of the moon in the black sky.
“Good evening, Princess Luna.” Twilight greeted. 
We bowed as usual. Sonic got on one knee, lowered his head, and put an arm across his chest, just as he did for Celestia.

“HELLO, MY FRIENDS!” Luna bellowed. “I mean; hello, my friends.”


She had gotten fairly used to speaking normally, but the “royal Canterlot voice” slips out every now and again.


“Um, with all due respect, why are there two princesses?” Sonic asked as he got up.


“Do not fret, tis understandable.” Luna replied.


“You see Luna and Celestia are sisters.” Twilight explained.


“Celestia’s in charge durin’ the day, an’ Luna handles night time.” Applejack chimed in.


“Oh, I guess that makes sense.” Sonic said. He walked over to the emerald on the floor and grabbed it. The gem was the same tone of blue as Sonic’s fur. 


“Ah, yes that reminds me.” Luna reached into a saddle-bag. “Here is the emerald we’ve held for you.”


“Thank you!” Everypony said as Luna levitated the emerald until sonic grabbed it.


“Now we just wait for that creep to show up.” Sonic announced.


As if they had been waiting, eggpawns appeared. But these weren’t ordinary eggpawns; they were giant, silver, and had huge hammers.


“Speak of the devil!” Sonic shouted.

Knight of the Wind

“Aren’t these the things that you couldn’t destroy?!” I panicked.
“Yeah.” Sonic confirmed. 
“Maybe the elements will work.” Twilight suggested.
We tried to use the power of the elements. Same process as before, but the rainbow we fired was a lot smaller and weaker. The robots only staggered. 
“What happened?” AJ was confused.
“Perhaps we over used them.” Rarity suggested.
“We need to do something!” I yelled.
Twilight responded with a blast of magic. The robot just took the blast and continued marching towards us.
“Can’t the princesses help?” Sonic mentioned.
Our faces turned to the castle. Surrounding it was a group of about 20 other overgrown eggpawns. Around us, everypony was in a panic .Sonic grunted as he looked around. His eyes landed on an antique store. Then he smirked.
“Girls, help everypony get to safety!” He commanded.
“Okay!” Pinkie said with her trademark enthusiasm.
“What will you do?” I asked.

[Knight of the Wind starts playing]

“Let’s just say, it’s time for the knight of the wind to make a comeback!” With that he darted into the store. Seconds later, he ran out with a sword in hand. Its blade was a shiny black, and the hilt was white with gems in it.
“It’s no Caliburn, but it’ll do.” He thought aloud.
He ran straight at the overgrown eggpawn. With a quick move of his arm his sword tore through the robots thick metal. The robot collapsed, and turned to scrap.
His fighting style was about the same but he was slashing his sword about as well as ramming into things. Often he’d jump into the air and curl into a ball, with his blade spinning round and round. With every slash he hopped into the air. Homing attacks were used to bridge gaps between himself and his foes.
Sonic moved from eggpawn to eggpawn, as we helped some ponies evacuate. Sonic was fairly good with that sword. He was better than most ponies could be, but I assume hands help. Even so, the “knight of the wind” started to struggle once the other robots started to team up on him.
“Go help him.” Twilight suggested.
“You sure you don’t need my help?” I asked.
“We’ll be fine,” Pinkie chimed in. 
“Besides you’re the only one ‘ere who can keep up with ‘im.” AJ said.
“Got it!” I saluted, and then darted to Sonic.
“HEY! OVER HERE!” I yelled to the metallic giants, as I hovered in front of them.
They turned to me and started to swing there hammers. I managed to zip between the strikes, but the distance between me and their tools kept getting smaller. Sonic was working his way towards me. After another dodge, I saw Sonic with knees bent and a magical ring around him. After that he let lose a powerful and precise slash. Unfortunately, that distracted me for long enough that the eggpawn had time to hit me. I expected it to hurt, but I only felt some pressure and a ring blasted out of me! I was falling down and couldn’t recover though.
Sonic slashed through the eggpawn that hit me, and then went into a slide. He dropped his sword, and caught me in his arms.

[Music Stops]

“You alright?” He asked when we stopped.
“Yeah. Thank Celestia for those rings!”
All of the eggpawns were cleared out.
“So is it over?” Rarity came up, along with the rest of our friends.
“Not quite!” A voice familiar to Sonic and I said.

E.G.G.M.A.N.

In front of us floated a man in a pod. The whole ensemble looked like an egg. The man wore a red jacket with white straps. At the end of each strap was a metallic, rectangular, and golden button. On his face were sunglasses and a bush of red hair.
Behind him were five pods, also floating. Each had a red metal top and bottom, with shiny black glass between them. One was bigger than the rest with seven hexagonal holes in the bottom portion.
“Eggman!” Sonic exclaimed.
“Ho-ho-ho!” He gloated. “I see you’ve managed to dispose of my lovely creations. No matter, hand over the chaos emeralds now.”
“And the Elements of Harmony!” A female voice entered.
The big pod’s reflective shield subsided. Inside was Chrysalis, a cocky grin on her face.
“I see you know my associate.” Eggman once again gloated.
“Yeah, we know her.” Twilight retorted.
Eggman seemed to give us notice for the first time. After studying us, he proceeded to burst into laughter.
“So these are the keepers of the Elements of Harmony?! I knew they would look odd, and I had already seen the rainbow haired one, but this is ridiculous!”
“Don’t mock them!” Sonic shouted. “They’ve helped a lot.”
“Whatever. Hand the emeralds and the Elements of Harmony over or your friends get it.” A wicked smile was on Eggaman’s face.
The other pods had their shields raised. Inside were four creatures similar to Sonic, each in their respective pod. They were just as Sonic had described them earlier. They were all lying motionless, but barely conscious. “Sonic.” The orange and pink creatures mumbled.
“JUST THE EMERALDS!” Sonic screamed.
“Fine the elements are drained anyways.” Eggman was smug. “Just put the emeralds in the slots on Chrysalis’ pod.” 
Sonic grunted in frustration as he pulled the emeralds out. He reluctantly placed the emeralds inside. As he placed the last emerald, power surged to Chrysalis.
“Okay I held my end of the bargain, now you do yours.” Sonic demanded.
“Yeah, not gonna happen.” Eggman said.
“WHAT?” We all screamed.
“Oh, come now. Did you really expect me to keep my word?” He laughed. “Now watch as Chrysalis gets enough power to help Eggman Land become a reality!”
“I HAD IT WITH YOU MISTER!” Screamed an incredibly loud and angry voice.
When we looked to the left we saw a fierce look on Fluttershy’s face. Her eyes were burning with rage and her stance reflected it. Sonic was completely thrown off, but the rest of us had seen this before. Fluttershy flew up to Eggman to tell him off.
“You should be ashamed of yourself.” She gave Eggman the stare. Eggman was completely paralyzed. “First you hurt Sonic and his friends, and then you make us go find the emeralds for you, and now this!” Fluttershy went on.
 Sonic turned to me. “What’s going on, this seems so unlike her?”
“Normally you’d be right, but when she gets angry (which is very rarely) this is what happens.” I explained. “She can do what we call ‘the stare’, basically she stares but it’s so… Intense, I guess, that it makes ponies freeze in their tracks.”
“Wow.” Suddenly, Sonic smiled. “We can use this to take the emeralds back, and save my friends!”
Eggman could clearly hear Sonic, and was trying to do something, but it was no use, the stare was too effective. Sonic ran to Chrysalis’ pod. Quickly, he took the emeralds.
“I-it’s n-no use. The pod a-already has all the power it n-needs.” Eggman stuttered.
“Listen when I’m talking to you!” Fluttershy scolded. 
Sonic, with the emeralds in tow, went up to another pod. Applejack, Twilight, and I went to the others. In front of Sonic was the orange creature, Tails I think. In front of AJ lay a red creature somewhat similar to Sonic, Knuckles. Twilight stood in front of a pink hedgehog, Amy. In front of me was the black and red hedgehog, known as Shadow.
“Hang in there buddy.” Sonic said.
Sonic pulled his fist back and started spinning his arm. “Go!” he yelled as he punched the glass. The glass shattered into tiny pieces. The rest of us just bucked the glass. 
“Well looks like you saved your precious friends.” Chrysalis’ voice rang. “But now that I’ve absorbed all that power nothing can stop me!”
That was enough to snap Fluttershy out of her rage. She blushed in embarrassment and ran off to join us.
“As for our partnership, Doctor.” Chrysalis walked towards Eggman. “Consider it void.” With that she sent him flying into the sky.
“Why does this always happen?!” He yelled as he rocketed away.
“No witness the true ruler of the world!” Chrysalis exclaimed.

Sonic Heroes

“Gah! It can’t end like this?” I exclaimed.
“It won’t!” Sonic was determined. “We have the emeralds, we can still win! Let’s find a safe place for the others first though.”
I scooped Tails on to my back, and Twilight, Applejack, and Fluttershy took Amy, Knuckles, and Shadow. Eventually, we found an ally far away from Chrysalis. We let Sonic’s friends down.
“Sonic, you fool.” Shadow managed. “Your actions have damned us all.”
“I’m going to fix this.” Sonic was determined.
“And I’m helping!” I was equally so.
“The rest of us will look after your friends.” Twilight offered.
“Thanks.”
Sonic closed his eyes and the emeralds appeared around him. As he did this, the Elements of Harmony began to glow. They started to float off of us and into the chaos emeralds. After a bright flash the Elements were gone and the Emeralds looked bigger.
“The super emeralds!” Sonic was elated.
“What?” Everypony questioned.
“They’re like the chaos emeralds but even more powerful!” Sonic explained. “So if you thought super forms were powerful, get ready for…”
We curled up as even more power than before coursed through us. Sonic’s arms and legs flew outwards, and I sprang up.
“HYPER SONIC!”
“HYPER RAINBOW!” We yelled simultaneously. 
We were just as our super forms but 2 major differences, we were more powerful and where we used to be gold we flashed many colors. We both took off to find Chrysalis.
Finding her didn’t take long. She was at the castle threatening the princess. 
“Now hand over your kingdom and nopony gets hurt.” Chrysalis demanded.
“Over my dead body.” Celestia defied.
“That can be arr…” Chrysalis was interrupted with a whistle from Sonic, who was floating next to me.
“Remember us.” Sonic taunted with a wave.
“You irksome little pests,” She retorted. “Now I’ll end this.”
“Yeah,” Sonic remarked. “I get that a lot.”
Chrysalis darted past us. When she got a little ways away from us she snarled. 

[Live and Learn starts playing]

“Chaos Control!” With that Sonic disappeared. He reappeared next to Chrysalis and swung his leg. Unfortunately, Chrysalis blocked with her horn. The two were in a lock, which I broke with a high-speed tackle.
“That’s one.” Sonic said.
“Do have this down to some sort of science?” I asked.
“Yup, always takes eight hits.”
Chrysalis charged at us. A split second later Sonic was below her, delivering a sharp punch to the stomach. ‘That’s two down and six to go if Sonic’s right.’ Chrysalis charged some magic into her horn. Soon, a shield shot up around her. She began charging a spell that would take a while even with that much raw power.
“I have an idea.” Sonic informed, after attempting to shatter the shield with a ram.  “I’ve never tried this before, but hopefully I can pull it off.”
Sonic crossed his arms in front of him, with his palms facing the changeling, half closed. Energy built up in his hands. “CHAOS SPEAR!” Spears of blue energy shot from his hands. I followed them.
When the spears reached the shield they shattered it to pieces. I slipped behind a stunned Chrysalis, and knocked her towards Sonic. He kicked her downwards. “CHAOS CONTROL!” I shouted and to my surprise it worked. Sonic and I had a quick game of tennis, and Chrysalis was the ball.
“Is that it?” I asked.
“Of part one at least.” He returned. “These things usually take two cycles.”
“You bet I have more in store!” Chrysalis laughed wickedly.

Chrysalis Phase 2

Chrysalis laughed wildly as she began to grow exponentially. When she was done expanding she was easily bigger than the castle. Sonic and I floated with our mouths open, clearly aghast.
“Now to take care of the little thorn in my side.” The giant changeling powered up her horn. In a second, Sonic was imprisoned in a shield. Punching, spinning, and kicking the green bubble did nothing to help him. I tried to set him free with a barrage of bucks. 
The evil queen kept bombarding the air with her laugh. Soon the bubble started to electrocute the multicolor hedgehog. Rings were spilling out of him in every direction imaginable. He turned back into his normal blue self. A chocked out “No!” came from him as the fastest thing alive fell to the floor of the bubble, no longer sentient. I was only able to stare in horror.
The bubble disappeared and then the blue blur started to plummet. Thankfully, I snapped out of my shock and caught him on my back. I brought Sonic to where my… no our friends guarded his. They all looked a lot better. Tails was the only one awake. 
“Oh my gosh!” He managed as I put the limp hedgehog down. Everypony turned to him. When the lifted their eyes to the unconscious body in front of them, their already grim expressions became even more sorrowful. Tails came to Sonic’s side and grabbed his arm. Putting two fingers to the base of Sonic’s hand, he sat there, shocked. A moment passed and he sighed in relief.
“I got a pulse!” He announced. “He’s alive! Barely, but alive!”
“What ‘appened to ‘im.” Applejack followed.
“Chrysalis, that’s what happened!” I was full of rage.
“What do we do?” Fluttershy whispered.
“I’m gonna teach her a lesson.” I blasted off.
If Chrysalis wasn’t inconspicuous I don’t know what is. The colossus of a changeling was razing everything in her path. Her pure mirth in doing so was sickening.
“Hey!” I got her attention.
“Haven’t you given up already?” She was obviously annoyed.
“After what you did to my friend?! NO WAY!” 
“So be it! Your fate shall be a thousand times worse!”
Before I could do anything I was in an energy bubble. The energy was being ripped from my body. The searing pain was enough to make anyone burst into tears. All was lost.
“You can do it dash! CHAOS SPEAR!” A blue energy spear smashed into Chrysalis’ horn. The impact shattered it. On the floor was a panting blue hedgehog who immediately passed out again.

[Dark Gaia Phase 2 starts to play]

The bubble shattered, and I was more determined than ever. I charged for the Changeling queen. She used her gargantuan hooves to fling chunks of land in my direction. With a few quick barrel rolls and dives I was in the clear. With all my might, I rammed into her face. Chrysalis was sent reeling and I went to my original location.
“YOU IRKSOME WORMS!” She shouted. “I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL!”
“Not while I’m around!” I retorted. “Face it Chrysalis, you’ve lost.”
“SHUT UP!”
Chrysalis flailed sending debris in all directions. Instinct struck me. I barreled ahead. About 50 meters after my point of origin I screamed. “CHAOS RAIN-BOOM!”  Everywhere I once was, stood a destructive rainbow ribbon. 
Thinking fast I flew around the enraged changeling. She swung her hooves rapidly. Every time her hoover met my rainbow trail and was sent back. She wailed in pain. Before long, she was encased in a rainbow cocoon.
“NOOOOO!” The defeated queen shouted. 
Soon the casing diapered, leaving a normal sized Chrysalis passed out on the floor. I breathed a sigh of relief, and then lost my energy. Soon I was falling to the ground too tired to do anything. The last thing I saw before passing out was a lavender glow enveloping me.

Lazy Days in Paradise

“‘Cause I know I can go where no one’s ever gone and I’m not lookin’ back.” I awoke to Sonic’s voice. Soon my vision cleared up. I was in the familiar location of a hospital bed. Next to my bed was Sonic’s. In his hand was a small black box. Strings covered in white rubber led to his ears. In his ears were white stubs. He bobbed his head in a rhythm, mumbling what sounded like lyrics to a song, with his eyes closed. Soon his eyes came open and he saw I was looking at him. 
“Oh, ‘afternoon Dash good to see you’re alright.” He took the things off his ears. Glancing at the box, which lit up, he pressed his finger to it. It went blank again.
“Same to you.” I smiled. “How long have I been out?”
“I woke up about an hour ago, but Tails and Amy told me it’s been about three days.”
"What there days! How!?"
"I guess you got a bit tired out."
"Still, I've lost so much time." I paused. "Well anyways where are the super emeralds?"
"They turned back into the Chaos Emeralds and Elements of harmony. The emeralds scattered like they normally do but the elements or with Twilight."
“Oh that's good. I guess I should contact my friends now.” 
“Yeah, want me to do that for you?” 
“Sure, when do you get out?”
“In ‘bout an hour or two.”
“Then I’ll just tell a nurse.”
“If you want, but Tails is in town. I can just send him a message on this.” He held the box up.
“What is that?”
“Just something Tails made, he’s a genius, and basically it’s a simplified version of his handheld. It can play music, send messages, and lots of other things. He dropped it off when he visited about thirty minutes ago.”
“Wow, how many ponies have those?”
“Well maybe he gave a few to our other friends, but lots of the people from my world have them; he makes a living off this stuff.”  He fiddled with the device. “Well this and our adventures. And there you go, it’s sent.”
Sure enough the gadget worked. A few minutes Tails and the others, along with a nurse, came into our room. The nurse ran some exams and told me to take it easy and that I could leave with Sonic, then she let my friends talk to me.
“We haven’t been properly introduced, I’m Miles Prower, but everyone calls me Tails.” The twin tailed fox introduced himself.
“I’m Rainbow Dash, nice to meet you.” I smiled.
“It’s super-duper great to see that you’re okay Dashie!” Pinkie cut in front of tails sending him reeling. “Opp, sorry Tails.”
“It’s alright.” He sighed. Sonic chuckled. Tails shot Sonic a dirty look sending. Sonic whistled casually. 
“Any ways it’s nice to see you too Pinkie.” I turned to the others. “It’s good to see all you guys.”
“Likewise.” Twilight responded.
“Same tuh you.” Applejack answered.
“Indeed.” Rarity followed.
“Thank Celestia that you’re okay.” Fluttershy added.

…………………………………………………..An hour later………………………………………………….

“So what do we do next?” I asked as we walked out of the hospital.
“Well Tails decided to move here and I think I’ll settle here too, so I need to get that taken care of.”
“The girls and I can help.” I offered.
“That would be nice.” He turned to me as we walked. “But I hope you like adventure, ‘cause when I’m around its more or less inevitable.”
“That should be fun!” I retorted. With that we walked to town hall to get Sonic a house.
It’s been a few months since then and we’ve already had some pretty awesome adventures. Sonic’s friends are all pretty nice and we get along well. Life here in Ponyville is more or less a whirl-wind of excitement, but with the original elements of harmony and the fastest thing alive it’s no problem.
