> The Petite Pink Party Pony that is Pinkie > by Yappano > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Fantastic Time > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cotton candy of her tail and the strawberry frosting of her fur made his room smell delicious. With a smile, he patted some powered sugar onto the face of the replica. “There,” Cheese Sandwich smiled. “Almost finished.” For the past couple of years, he wandered all over Equestria gaining experience planning and executing the best of the best parties, shindigs, and hoedowns. All of it was entirely thanks to the petite pink party pony, who he later found out was named Pinkie Pie, whose party he stumbled into all those years ago. During his travels, he was on the look out for the greatest quality ingredients that reminded him of the pretty pink mare. He wanted to repay her, and if baking a life-size cake of her with all the necessary components and a correctly hued color palette was not good enough… He’d just have to think of something grander next time. Grabbing two macarons tinted light blue, Cheese lightly pushed them into pre-carved holes on the face. Sticking his tongue out in concentration, he glanced all over the glorious cake. With a few adjustments to the frosting, adding twirled black licorice for her pupils, and more powdered sugar to make her eyes extra sparkly (like they were in real life), he deemed his changes complete, and he gave a satisfied snort and a small nod of his head. “Perfect.” Now all that was left to do was wait for the cutie-mark cookies to finish baking and cooling to put them on Pinkie Cake’s flank. Before he could get distracted by the thought of her flank though, he had to stifle a giggle. Maybe making a pie for her would be more accurate. _ _ Watching her face while she opened the box signed for her on the doorsteps of Sugarcube Corner was worth all the trouble. The enormous smile and excited screaming about, “The BEST birthday present EVEEER!” made it worth ten times the trouble. _ _ Stay cool, Cheese, stay cool. There she was, talking to her clients, friends, chums, about the party planning in progress. He just has to mosey his way into the conversation without any - There! Perfect chance! “I am…” _ _ A goof-off with his favorite pink party pony - no, his favorite pony out of all the ponies - was a dream come true to Cheese Sandwich. A challenge to show her what he’s made of, what he learned, right there face to face. This was almost better than being able to plan a party on her home turf! It was tons of fun until Pinkie’s voice rang out over the noise of the excited crowd: “Stoooop!” Everything was silent except her voice as she explained that she forfeited. Cheese was completely baffled. He won, but… Pinkie Pie didn’t deserve to lose. That’s when he fully realized the gravity of the situation. If he won, Pinkie wouldn’t be allowed to work on the party. While that didn’t mean much at first, he knew Pinkie’s life goal was to be the premier party planner that she was. And that’s what he loved her for. Love… Sure, he loved her and he made her cry… He had some explaining to do. _ _ Despite being interrupted by the birthday girl, the moment was perfect. Not as perfect as being able to work with Pinkie Pie on the party, but a smidgen… Just the same amount of perfection. The planning was more fun than he could handle. Pinkie and him got along perfect and almost had a telepathy line while bouncing off ideas together. And the party itself was amazing. Being able to hang out with Pinkie and make sure that everything was going as planned made the night fantastic. And now all he had to do was return what rightfully belonged to her. Being a little cool again couldn’t hurt. _ _ “Dearest Pinkie, “Do you wanna, maybe, sometime “go out…” Pinkie’s friends grinned as the pink pony read out her newest letter from Cheese Sandwich. They sat around her on the floor of the library. Rarity clapped her hooves together in delight. “Oh, Pinkie, I am so glad-!” “Wait, Rarity! I am not finished reading!” Pinkie looked up from the bright bubbly yellow parchment paper in her hooves. The girls looked at her confused. They thought Pinkie would be happy, not to mention the fact they have been happily hoping that the two would get together since the party a few months back. Pinkie cleared her throat and went right back to reading. “And plan another party with me?” There was a silence before Fluttershy piped out a squeak. “That’s it?” “What more do you expect, silly?” Pinkie grinned happily. She seemed to be super happy at the prospect of planning another party with her favorite party planning pony. So happy, in fact, that she suddenly threw the letter into the air in an excited fit of muscles spasms. Another piece of paper peeled off the letter to everyone’s surprise. It gently wafted down to the ground, parallel to the original letter. The girls all stared at it before Rarity pounced at the chance to see what it said. Reading out loud, and ignoring Pinkie’s protests, Rarity’s eyes shimmered with glee. “I would also like to invite you “out on a date sometime. “I know ponies who know ponies “and got a ticket to the “Grand Galloping Gala this year. “I’m sure that it will be multitudes “better if you’re there with me. “Not only for me, by the way, “Some ponies can be sticks in the mud. “Love, Cheese Sandwich” The five ponies squealed and congratulated the dumbfounded pink pony. She just stood there in silence for a second before voicing her confusion. “Huh-da-what?!” Pinkie covered her deepening pink face. “Cheesy likes me!?” “Wow, way to be oblivious, Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash smirked, wrapping her arm around Pinkie’s neck. “Didn’t you see his face when he told you the truth,” Rainbow deepened her voice into a silly impression of Cheese, “about you being his inspiration for his entire life?” “I mean, it was kind of obvious, dear,” Rarity joined in. She glanced at the now red faced mare. “What? Do you not like him back? I… I’m sorry, we just assum-” “That’s not it!” Pinkie interrupted for the second time. “I just- didn’t expect this!” She suddenly couldn’t contain the gigantic smile that wanted to appear on her face. “I’m going to write him back!” As she bounced out of the library doors with her head in the clouds, Rarity looked at the discarded letter again. “But to be at the Grand Galloping Gala…” The girls giggled a bit about it together before dispersing for the day. They all could not wait to hear Cheese’s reply.
