> The Doctors Goodbye > by TheWriter7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Goodbye > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Doctor, are you okay?" The grey, wall-eyed mare asked as The Doctor staggered backed to his hooves. "I-I'm fine Ditzy, that blast from that Dalek really hit me har-ah-ah!" The Doctor immediately collapsed onto floor in pain. " D-Doctor!" Ditzy ran over to the suffering pony. "What's wrong?" "Oh no...oh no no no no..." "What do you mean oh no?" Ditzy asked in concern. "Are you still okay?" "It seems that, I-I-I'm...Ditzy I'm dying..." "What!?" Ditzy exclaimed, eyes beginning to glisten with tears. "That blast from the Dalek, seemed to hit a vital organ." "I'm afraid I don't have much time left." The Doctor then shut his eyes tightly, trying to keep his composure . "No...No No No NO!" "You can't die, you just can't!" Her eyes were now flowing with tears. "I'm sorry Ditzy." Tears also began to leave his tightly shut eyes. "I wish there was something I could...wait...there is." His eyes quickly opened, flicking tears off him."There is a way for me to not die." "What is it?" She asked, hoping there's still a chance for him to live. "It's called regeneration, it'll repair any injuries I have." "Well that's good." She said almost sounding relieved. "But..." "But what?" She asked in concern. "But, I'll completely change..." "What do you mean?" She asked with confusion. "Everything about me will change, my hair, my face, my body, even my personality will change." "But, most importantly... my memories will be erased." "Your... memories?" She asked. "Our adventures, the friends we've made, and even the memories of...you." He said regretully. "No." Ditzy said in a stern voice. "I'm afraid so Di-" "No!" She interrupted. "You can't forget about me! You just can't!" Her voice began to crack, from the immense weight of her emotions. The Doctor then grabbed her, and looked her straight into her eyes. "Listen to me, when I regenerate, there will be a massive explosion." "That's why I need you to leave." "No." "I'm going to fly the TARDIS out to another dimension." "No." "To make sure you, or anypony else gets hurt." "No, I'm not going to leave yo-" "You have to Ditzy!" He exclaimed, as his eyes began to flow with tears. "I don't want you to get hurt, I wouldn't live with myself if you got hurt." "Oh Doctor..." She then wrapped her hooves around him, giving him a tight hug, which he gave in return. In what seemed to be an eternity, Ditzy finally spoke. "I'll miss you Doctor." "And I'll miss you too Ditzy." They soon begrudgingly let go of each other. "Now, go Ditzy..." She slowly walked out of the door, but without sharing one last look at The Doctor, who was still sitting on the floor. Tears were still streaming down her as she finally stepped out the door. The Doctor then headed to the central control panel, and set a course to random dimension. The TARDIS than began to shake, as the the machine immediately blasted out into the sky. Ditzy watched as the machine soon disappeared into the night sky. "Thank you Doctor, for everything." Ditzy whispered to herself, watching the TARDIS take off. The Doctor sat there by the panel waiting for the regeneration process to begin, until he heard a warm voice call out to him. "Hello, Doctor." He looked behind him to see a snow white alicorn standing behind him. "Oh, hello Princess." He said in a depressed tone. "You're not surprised to see me here?" She said, puzzled. "You're a goddess, you can do anything really." "I see, I just wanted to thank you for saving Equestria on multiple occasions." "And also, I'm sorry." "Sorry? Sorry for what?" "Sorry for this whole...ordeal." He gave a slight chuckle. "It's not your fault, it's just something I usually deal with." "You know, it's funny. For 900 years I've had many lives, and out of all of them, this life is the best I've ever had." "A great companion, great adventures, and now, it all gets taken away." "I'm sorry, I know how you feel." "Do you really?" He said with an annoyed tone. "I finally get a life where I'm extremely happy with, and it all gets taken away!" Anger soon took over the Doctor. "Equestria maybe safe, but I never got a chance to finally take in the scenery." "I could've done so much more with her in this world." His voice began to rise. "SO MUCH MORE!" "But it's just not fair, I've given so much, yet my reward is nothing but death." "I'm sorry, for all these unfortunate events to occur." She put a hoof on his shoulder. "But I want to thank you for everything you've done for Equestria, and I'm sure you're friend is very grateful as well." "You're probably right." He said quietly to himself. She then backed away from The Doctor. "I hope your next life will be just as wonderful." "Thank you." He said with a mournful smile on his face. Celestia then faded away out of the room into nothing. He quickly looked down, and turned around back to the panel. He looked up at the main generator, and spoke his last few words. "I don't want to go..." He then began to glow, and before he knew it the regeneration began.
