> The Cyberdog > by Emerald Shield > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Ch.1 An explosive meeting > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Tia we have a huge problem!" Luna yelled as she breached the door to Celestia's bed chambers, rudely awakening the sun goddess. "What is it Luna? It's already... past midnight" princess Celestia asked as she sat up in bed, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Once she was done with that she snapped the fingers of her right hand and the candles on the chandler in the room lit with a golden flame. "We have no time for this! Put on your clothes and follow me!" Luna yelled as she ran out of the room. "Well, so much for a good nights rest" Celestia said as she climbed out of bed and cracked her back with a series of loud pops and snaps, satisfied she began putting on her royal regalia, a golden necklace with a decently sized amethyst in it, a golden tiara with another amethyst in it, an alabaster colored dress that was just shy of wedding dress frilliness, long white boots with one-inch heels, and lastly the spell necessary to turn her normally bright pink hair into it's wavey rainbow configuration. She then proceeded to walk to the throne room of the castle which as of now had the obsidian black throne of Luna up front, rather then the pure white one of Celestia. "Ah there you are!" Luna exclaimed as she descended the stairs which led to the observatory, and came to a halt in front of her sister. "Okay what is it Lulu?" Celestia asked with a playful grin on her face. She got her answer in a truly massive explosion rocking the very foundation of castle Everfree. "What was that!?" Celestia asked again. "I don't know but around fifteen minutes ago I saw a comet in the sky heading straight for the forest! And I had no control over it!" Luna yelled/explained. "Then it must be an attack of some kind! Maybe the dragons? Anyhow, do you know where it landed?" Celestia asked. "Yes! It landed about two miles north-east from the castle!" Luna replied. Celestia nodded at that. "Captain Sharp Spear! We request your presence in the throne room!" She yelled in the Royal Canterlot Voice. Not a minute later captain Spear burst trough the door with his helmet backwards on his head. Celestia looked at the funny display with a small smile, the helmet was lifted up in a golden aura, the same aura that was now surrounding her right hand, and was then put on his head the right way. "Thank you your highness" the captain said with a sheepish expression on his face. "It's quite alright captain" Celestia said with small smile. "Now I presume you have heard the explosion of some time ago?" He nodded. "I want you to gather a small group of guards and meet us at the castle gate, understand?" Captain Sharp Spear nodded and went out the door. A half hour later "Okay! I assume you have all heard the explosion a half an hour ago?" Captain Spear said as he stood in front of a good thirty guards. Behind him stood princess Luna and Celestia. "Sir yes sir!" The guards all said. "Then I want you all to follow me to the crash site!" Luna said stepping forward. Some time later the guards and captain Sharp Spear were following Luna and Celestia to the crater. "I think I see the crater!" One of the guards said as he pointed to a small raise in the ground with smoke coming from behind it. Luna nodded at that and picked up the pace now going in a slow jog. When they reached the crater they saw a lot of smoke coming from the center. Celestia and Luna stood on the ledge of the crater and with one simultaneous flap of their wings the smoke was gone. Celestia then shot a miniature light source in the air revealing a very weird sight indeed. In the middle of the crater, which was about five feet deep, lay a canine like thing. It had no cheeks or lips to speak of, only a strip of pinkish scarred flesh, massive claws on its hind paws and on it's sorta hand like front paws, but most noticeable was that most of it's body was a dull black and bronze color with two things containing a green liquid right above it's shoulders, it also had tubes glowing with the same liquid running from the bottom of it's head to it's middle chest, and running over it's hind legs, it also had a dull brown coat, which was mostly burned away by now. It also had 'pr-17' printed on it's right shoulder. "W-what is that thing!?" One of the female guards said whilst looking like she was about turn around and run for all eternity. "I don't know, I've never seen anything like it" Luna said. "Whatever it is, it's probably hostile, it just looks like it was made for war" Captain Spear said. "Only one way to fine out" Luna said again as she jumped in the crater. "Princess wait! It could be dangerous!" Spear said again. Too late, Luna was already halfway down. Just when she reached the thing it's eyes snapped open, revealing the almost purely evil eyes, everything that was supposed to be white was a pitch black, in the center of it's eyes it had a glowing radioactive green dot, presumably it's pupils. It didn't do anything besides that though. "Stand down, I don't think it's dangerous" Luna said, to the annoyance of the guard and Celestia. Luna then sat down next to the thing and slowly put her hand in it's half metal half organic head, it twitched a little bit when her hand made contact, causing most guards to hold up their weapons just in case it was going to do something, it didn't. Then, a couple minutes later, it lifted itself on it's legs and walked closer to Luna. This was enough reason for one of the guards to, mostly out of panic, throw his spear at the dog. The dog saw this and, unnaturally fast, jumped in front of Luna, at whom the spear was accidentally aimed by the panicked guard, causing the spear to simply ding off of it's armor. It then turned around and looked at the guard who threw the spear, the dog was the only one looking at the thrower, the rest were all looking at it in shock, this... whatever the hell it was had just survived a direct hit from one of the sharpest spears ever made, and there wasn't even a scratch. And then, against all odds, it spoke. "You hurt her" it said in a distinctly male, gruff and raspy voice as it hefted itself on it's hind legs, making it now stand an easy eight feet tall. "I hurt you" it continued before it charged at the guard, straight through the shield some of the other guards had put up around him, and then picked him up by the neck, and then pulled the guard up in the air, choking him. The rest of the guards reacted accordingly by throwing spears and shooting magical bolts at it. They didn't do anything as they just continuously dinged off of it's armor, again. Luna then ran forward at the dog and put her right hand on it's left front paw. The dog turned it's head to her. "Set him down" Luna said sternly. The dog seemed to get a look of confusion in its eyes, almost like it was deciding whether to listen or not, luckily for the guard he was dropped to the ground, gasping for breath. The dog dropped back on all fours and walked in between Luna and the guard, it then growled almost like it was protecting her. "Might we know who you are?" Luna asked. The dog turned his head to her. "I am Uriah, and I am a Cyberdog" The dog evidently called Uriah said. "Uriah, might I ask why you are here... on our planet?" Luna asked again. "I don't really know... I don't remember anything" Uriah replied with a stunned look on his face. "You get away from the princess!" Captain Spear said when he had enough of doing nothing. Uriah simply growled at him, causing Spear's face to turn completely white. "Now why would I do that? One of you idiots already threw a spear at her" Uriah replied causing most guards to look away. "Guards why don't you all go head on back to the castle, we will catch up with you later" Celestia said. This led most guards to open their mouths, say nothing and walk back. Captain Spear stayed the longest before eventually walking back to the castle. "Captain?" Luna asked, Sharp Spear stopped. "fire the guard who threw that spear would you?" He nodded. "Can I presume you are the leader here?" Uriah asked. "Yes, me and my sister are the co-rulers of the country of Equestria" Luna said proudly. "Okay, well what now?" Uriah asked. "I think it's best that we go to the castle" Celestia said. "Yes quite" Luna replied. "Before we go, might I know your names?" Uriah asked. "Well I am princess Celestia" Celestia began. "And I am princess Luna" Luna continued. "Okay, another question, why do you already trust me?" Uriah asked again. "I think you saving my sister is reason enough" Celestia replied. "Yes, and thank you for doing that by the way" Luna said. Uriah smiled at that, well, as much as a lipless dog can smile, at least. And soon enough the three of them were on their way to the castle, and also, a brand new friendship. > Ch.2 The start of something new > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning "You did what!?" Captain Spear yelled at princess Celestia. "Me and my sister are letting Uriah stay here in the castle" Celestia repeated calmly from her throne. "But! Why are you letting that... That monster stay here!?" Spear yelled again. "We presume he lost his memory in the crash and until he gets his memory back, if ever, we're letting him stay here, right?" "What do you mean right!?" "She was talking to me" Uriah said walking, on his hind legs, out of a shadow in the corner of the throne room. "Indeed I was" Celestia confirmed. "Oh and Celestia" Uriah said again, Celesita nodded. "What you just said is not completely right, I have lost my memory as in childhood memories, but I do, strangely enough, remember certain, how shall we say, designs and my name, obviously. Oh and I know that, although there are no Cyberdogs on this planet, there are still humans that have certain special powers. Because Celestia and Luna, when we walked back to the castle, told me that humans sometimes have a special power, like Celestia has control over the sun, Luna over the moon. Them telling that to me led me to try and see if I had any special powers to speak of, and guess what, I do! Do you know what I can do?" Uriah said to and asked Spear. "No, no I do not" Spear said trembling a little. "I have the power to create and alter inanimate matter" Uriah explained as a highly modified revolver materialized in his right front paw in a black haze. "Do you know what this is?" Uriah asked. Spear shook his head. "The designs in my head call this a revolver. Do you know what it does?" Spear shook his head again. "It fires brass bullets at several times the speed of sound" It took Spear a moment to process what he just said. "What! But that would revolutionize the weapon industry! Give it here!" Spear eventually yelled as he ran at Uriah. Uriah simply aimed it at him. "Tsk tsk tsk, I don't think so. You see, I remember a rule, a rule of interstellar travel, don't mess with the technological advancements of whatever planet you reside on" He said cooly as the revolver dematerialized to dust just before Spear reached him. "But, but why!? If you give us your technology we could save hundreds, thousands of people!" Spear yelled at him. "Two words: da rules" Uriah said with a chuckle that sounded a bit to dark for Spear's taste. But! But! Fine! But if somebody dies because the technology isn't good enough you'll have blood on your hands!" Spear yelled as he stormed out of the throne room. "Paws!" Uriah yelled after him as he dropped back on all fours. "Is there really such a rule?" Celestia asked. "No, I just don't like that guy" Uriah said chuckling. "Hmm. I've been meaning to ask you something, how do you even talk? You don't have lips" She asked. "I actually don't know" He replied. "Well then, do you think you could make something to disguise yourself, if somebody saw something looking as... Hellish as you do walking trough the corridors then they would probably faint" Celestia asked. "Sure I can, I just need some time to make the necessary calculations" Uriah replied. "Okay then, I will make sure you have a room to stay in, is that alright with you?" "Sure" And with that they went their separate ways, Celestia had to go to court, and Uriah was on his way to explore the forest some more. (One month later) "Come on Uriah concentrate!" Luna yelled at Uriah, who was currently wearing his disguise. His disguise was a well built eight foot man with backwards spiked silver hair and radioactive green eyes, his clothes consisted of simple blue jeans (which he made himself), a golden shirt (a gift of Celestia) and a midnight blue raincoat (a gift of Luna), he wore black boots, and was of the Earthbound tribe. He also had a holster on his right hip with a revolver in it, as it was his weapon of choice. The things that were holding up his disguise where a series of steel, chain less shackles inlaid with enchanted gems on his wrists and ankles, the shackles where bound to his skin. Uriah was currently holding his right hand up at about chest hight and it was balled in a fist, it was also glowing with a faint silver aura. About two weeks ago he had gone to Luna for magic lessons, he had seen her and her sister use magic often, and he wanted to learn it as well, now you might say 'only mages and unified ones can use magic' no, every flyer and earthbound with enough will can use magic, the problem is that only Celestia and Luna know how to do it in that fashion. Uriah was a much faster learner then the two of them could have expected, he quickly mastered all forms of basic magic within one week, they took a small break after that, and three days ago they started with the more advanced forms of magic, that is where they still are now, the beginning, teleportation, Uriah just couldn't get the hang of teleporting. "I'm trying, but if you yell at me all the damn time I can't!" Uriah yelled back, Luna didn't even flinch at his harsh language, he had been doing that all the time the past three days. "Language won't get you anywhere! Concentrate!" Luna replied sternly. Uriah just grumbled as he closed his eyes again and concentrated on the throne room, which is the place they decided on using as the place he would teleport to, it was quite some distance away as they were currently in the castle courtyard. The glow on his hand brightened and eventually there was a flash-pop and he was gone, he reappeared in the middle of the throne room... about fifteen feet to high. He fell on the ground flat on his back, effectively knocking the air out of him. "Finally! I did it!" Uriah yelled happily as he held his fist up in the air. When he opened his eyes he came face to face with two solar guards. "Halt! Why are you here!" The guards yelled in synch. "It's okay guards, he is a friend" Celestia said with a smile from her usual spot on her throne. The guards reluctantly obeyed. "Thanks Tia" Uriah said with a sheepish smile on his face as he stood up. "It's nothing really, guards could you leave us alone for a while?" Celestia said in a commanding tone. The guards, once again, reluctantly obeyed. Once they were gone Celestia literarily jumped out of her throne and walked towards Uriah, and then proceeded to wrap him in a bone crushing hug. "Tia... I Can't... Breath" He wheezed out. "I'm so proud of you! You learned how to teleport!" Celestia squealed out whilst not letting go of him. "Tia? You're strangling him" Luna asked appearing behind us. "Oh right sorry" Celestia said letting Uriah go, he dropped on the ground gasping for breath. "Thanks Luna, I could see my arguably short life flashing before my very eyes" Uriah joked dramatically. "Very funny Uriah, very funny" Luna said. "So what's next?" Uriah asked. "Sleep, don't get me wrong teaching you magic is fun and all, but I'm still mostly nocturnal" Luna replied. "Oh, okay then" He said, looking a little crestfallen. "Don't worry, we'll continue tonight" Luna reassured him. Uriah smiled at that. "Why don't you go on another run through the forest, I know you love those" She continued with a small smile. "Yeah I think I'll do that, see you later" Uriah said as he tried to teleport away, he ended up about twenty feet in the air, and fell flat on his back... Again. "I'm alright" He grunted as he walked out of the door. "He's certainly something isn't he?" Luna asked. "Yes he certainly is" Celestia replied with a small smile. A couple minutes later in the forest Running, that was the only thing going trough the disguise-less Uriah as he leaped over fallen trees, weaved through still standing ones, and was just generally having a great time. Then out of nowhere a clearing in the forest appeared, it was massive, an easy hundred and fifty feet across, and at the end a massive rock stood, about three foot in diameter. A smirk came to Uriah's face as he reached the halfway point of the field, he then drove his front paws into the ground extra hard causing him to topple over them, when he was flipped over with his back to the ground two miniature jet engines materialized on his back and then they activated, causing him to stay in the position with his back to the ground, and surge forward with his left hind leg retracted and his right hind one stretched out. When his right hind paw made contact with the rock, he completely shattered it as he went straight through, the jet engines dematerialized as he flipped over and landed on all fours, and slid forth a couple more feet. He only said one more thing after that. "Awesome" and with that he ran back to the castle. > Ch.3 Use a Sharp Spear to often an it will turn dull > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- twenty four years later Uriah had been staying with Celestia and Luna in castle Everfree for the past two dozen years now, and he had matured a lot in that time, in his 'normal' Cyberdog form he had grown his lips back, and his disguise was made so that it would follow his mental maturity, so his human 'form' was now truly massive! His muscles had bulged and he had grown a bit of a beard, in his opinion he looked like a badass, he still wore the blue jeans, golden shirt, dark blue raincoat and black boots though, they had dulled a lot over the years. In the last two dozen years of magic lessons he had mastered all forms of magic, yes that means he's also a master dark magician. He proved to be especially gifted at fire magic, to the point that if he's angered his body temperature, out of reflex, rises tremendously. They had also found out that in his Cyberdog form he can easily lift a dozen tons over his head, as a human he can lift about two tons. So yeah he was pretty hard to defeat, it was proven as he only barely lost a sparring match with Luna. (Beginning flash back) "Are you sure you want to do this?" Luna asked Uriah as they walked into the arena in the guard barracks where they would have their sparring match. "Yes, I want to test my limits" Uriah said with a look of fierce determination on his human face. "Very well then" She said again as they walked into the arena, shockingly the outer spectator ring was packed with guards, and most of all, Celestia. "Sister what is the meaning if this!?" Luna asked sternly. "Oh I thought it would be fun to see how strong Uriah has gotten in all those years of magic lessons" Celestia said in the most innocent tone she could muster. "Why you!-" "Calm down Lulu, I want them to see" Uriah said as Luna calmed down a bit. "Very well then, you should stand at the east end, and I will stand at the west, you can make the first move" Luna said as she nodded to Celestia, who then stood up and made a shield appear around the arena, which was about eighty feet across. When she sat down again she nodded, signaling that the match has started. Luna and Uriah just stood opposite from each other, Uriah had his eyes closed in concentration. A couple seconds later Luna turned around and high kicked a cloaked Uriah in the side of the head, sending him flying. "Good use of the decoy and cloaking spells! But you should remember that I can still hear you!" Luna yelled as the decoy on the east end of the field flickered out of existence. As Uriah was flying through the air, cool blue flames sparked into existence under his boots, thus keeping him aloft. He didn't say anything as he hover-strafed to the right, all the while flames where send flying to Luna from his hands. Luna turned into a cloud of purple smoke and flew into the air where she solidified and started throwing magical ice bolts at Uriah's boots causing the flames to be extinguished, making him fall to the ground where he only barely landed on his feet. He then grabbed his twin revolvers out of the holsters on his hips, and started rapidly firing at the still flying Luna, who just in time put up a shield around herself, the bullets simply bounced right of. Seeing that normal fire won't get him anywhere, Uriah holstered his guns and materialized an assault rifle type of thing in his hands, only difference it had what looked like rails instead of a barrel. In the back of the rails a soft blue glow appeared, he shouldered the rifle, and fired, the blowback of the rail gun was enough to make cracks appear in the ground. The pellet it fired moved at Luna at mach seven, went straight through the shield and into Luna's leg, who led out a scream of shock and pain at the unexpected velocity of the pellet, she then fell to the ground holding her leg as her hands glowed a faint green, showing that she was using healing magic. When she reached the ground she looked a little tired at the unexpected turn of events. Celestia had to use mass levitation to make sure none of the guards that were watching went in and attacked Uriah for hurting the princess. "I see you put a lot of trust in that fancy technology of yours" Luna said. "I'll teach you differently" She continued with a creepy grin. She then stood up tall and held her hands up in front of her, not a split second later a massive silver beam shot out of them. Uriah was only barely capable of putting up a shield around himself, it didn't last long as it broke after five seconds of continues punishment, when the beam hit Uriah it sent him flying against the shield that was only barely holding up with the magical power emanating from the field. When Uriah fell to the ground he stayed there, simply lying there. After about a minute his body stirred a bit, when he stood up again everybody saw purple smoke seeping from his eyes. "Luna, don't tell me you learned him dark magic as well?" Celestia asked. "I trusted he could control himself, so yes, I did" Luna said with a smile. "This can't end well" Celestia said again. Uriah then flashed a toothy smile before he held his hands up and pointed them to the ground. He then began chanting in an ancient language, after about five seconds of this he made a grabbing motion with his hands towards the ground, he then, whilst looking like he was pulling something, lifted his hands up, in that moment the ground began cracking, and then three skeletons with old, rusted swords burst out of the ground. They stood there for a couple seconds before Uriah said something for the first time this match. "Weaken her, but don't kill her" When those words left his lips the three undead charged at Luna with their swords raised. Luna, who was surprised that Uriah could summon three skeletons at once, summoned her own weapon, a black bow, she then grabbed the roped of the bow and pulled it back, just then three silver arrows appeared. She fired the arrows, each of them hit one of a skeleton, which then exploded. Creating a massive dust cloud. A second or so later Uriah, now in his Cyberdog form, jumped through the smoke and pounced on Luna, pinning her to the ground. "Looks like I win" Uriah said in his raspy voice that he always had when he's a Cyberdog. "It sure looks like it" Luna said as she flickered out of existence. "But looks can deceive" A voice came from behind Uriah as Luna came from the smoke and kicked him in the back, right between the two containers. She then began punching him in the back. Two jet engines then materialized on Uriah's sides, blasting him forward and keeping him aloft just above the ground. "That's enough for today, I am officially stopping this match for the wellbeing of everybody here!" Celestia said. "But!" Uriah tried to protest. "No! Uriah I suggest you swallow any words you were going to say" She said again with a stern expression. Uriah grumbled as a silver, golden and blue haze covered his body, when it dissipated Uriah was standing there in his human form, still grumbling. (End flash back) 'Good times, good times' Uriah thought as he lay under a tree somewhere in the forest, he had just come back from a run, so he was just relaxing right now. Just admiring the view, listening to the sounds of nature: birds chirping, wind rustling the leaves of trees, the accessional roar of the more dangerous wildlife, human screams... Wait what? "Help!" Could be faintly heard in the distance. "That sounded like... Sharp Spear!" Uriah said as he jumped up and ran in the direction he heard the voice come from. After about thirty seconds of running he saw Sharp Spear lying against a tree with a manticore standing over him, Spear wasn't moving. "Hey ugly! Over here!" Uriah yelled at the manticore. It turned to him with a furious expression, before it pounced on him, Uriah walked away under it and then grabbed it by it's tail, he then began twisting and twisting and twisting, until finally he let the manticore go, sending it flying through the air. "And now that that's over with" Uriah said as he walked to where Sharp Spear, what he saw brought tears to his eyes, Spear was alive but only barely, he had a gaping wound in his side and he breathed short and raspy breaths. "Hey Uriah, looks like I'm pretty banged up aren't I?" Spear was barely capable of saying. "Just, just hold on okay! I'll get you to a doctor!" Uriah said as he turned into his human form and picked up Sharp Spear and began walking away, as his wounds were to severe for regular healing magic. "No don't, I've already given up anyways" Spear protested. "No I won't let you go!" Uriah cried. "Goodbye Uriah, see you in hell" and with that his body went limp. "Spear... Spear!" Uriah yelled as he fell to his knees, and began openly crying out his nonexistent heart (no really he has no heart, his Cyberdog body is like 95% metal). two day later Uriah, Celestia, Luna and a lot of the guards came to Sharp Spear's funeral, all of them wearing black clothing, Uriah wasn't though all he did was clean his usual clothes. "Uriah would you like to say anything?" Celestia asked from the podium where the chest with Spear's body was standing. Uriah nodded as he stood up and walked to the stage. "Well where to begin?" He said as he reached the stage. "Spear and I didn't see eye to eye most of the time, both literally and figuratively, but I can say, that I looked up to him. He, among other reasons, was the reason I became who I am now." He said. "He- I'm sorry I can't do this" Uriah said as he teleported away. "Uriah!" Luna yelled. > Ch.4 The return > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seventy-six years later Seventy-six years, that's how long it has been since Uriah disappeared. In that time Celestia and Luna had pretty much turned the entire world upside down in search of him, they found nothing, by now they had already given up the search because they thought he had perished, they knew that they where the only immortal beings on their planet... Right? It was another peaceful midday in the town around castle Everfree, there hasn't been an attack by timberwolves or anything. That peacefulness changed when a man, easily eight feet walked into town and went straight for the castle. He wore a dulled out dark blue raincoat, a grayish golden shirt under that, black boots and simple blue pants that looked like they have been hit with a sand beam. But weirdest of all, he wore metal shackles ingrained with various gems around his wrists and ankles. He looked like he had been to hell and back, he had a look in his eyes that only people that have seen death, true death had. He wore his silver hair backwards spiked. And his radioactive green eyes never moved an inch away from the castle. He also had a blue bird sitting on his right shoulder. "Halt state your name and business here!" Two guards said as the man reached the castle gate. "Both of those are none of your business, now move aside so I can get out of your hair" the man said sternly. "If you don't cooperate we will have to use force!" The guards said again. "Fine" the man said with a sigh. "Bolt" he said to the bird, who then perked up and looked at the guards in question. A smirk seemingly came to the birds beak as it opened its right wing, the feathers on its end then bend as fingers, it then grabbed two feathers out of its tail, which instantly grew back, and threw them at the guards. When the feathers hit the guards started spasming before they fell to the ground, occasionally twitching. "If you want the same fate, by all means, keep looking" the man said to the people that were standing behind them, all with a look of awe on their face, when they registered what the man said they quickly walked on. "I thought so" the man said again. He then walked on into the castle, the bird occasionally throwing more feathers to take out more guards on the way to the throne room. When the man and the bird reached the massive double doors that blocked entrance to the throne room the man spoke again. "Well, we're here Bolt. This could end badly so keep your guard up okay?" Bolt nodded. "Okay here goes nothing" the man said again as he pushed open the doors and entered the throne room, on the far end of the room sat, in all her glory, princess Celestia. "Halt!" The guards on opposite sides of the door said sternly. Both were silents by the bird throwing two more feathers. "What is the meaning of this!?" Celestia asked. "Really Tia? That's not how you greet an old friend" the man said. "Wha? Is... is that you Uriah?" She asked again. "The one and only" the man evidently known as Uriah said as a tear came to his eye. "Uriah!" Celestia yelled as she ran to him and hugged him like her live depended on it. "I missed you to Tia" He said again, chuckling a little bit. "Tia what's going on? All the guards are lying passed out on the ground an-" Luna said as she walked in on their hug. "Uriah? Is that you?" "Yes Lulu it's me" Uriah said as Luna joined the group hug. "But how? It's been seventy-six years and you haven't changed a bit" Luna asked. "Isn't it obvious? I'm immortal, like you two" Uriah said as they separated. "Wait, Luna what did you mean by 'all the guards are passed out'?" Celestia asked. "Just like that, they're passed out" Luna replied. "Uriah, can I presume you have something to do with it?" Celestia asked. "Yeah, sorry, but Bolt is the one who knocked them out" Uriah said whilst pointing to Bolt, the bird took this as offensive and picked Uriah in the head before flying of to Celestia's shoulder. "And who? Or better yet what is this bird?" Luna asked. "Well that's Bolt and he is a lightning Phoenix, I found his egg around fifty years ago, and as far as I know, and that's a lot, he is the only lighting Phoenix in existence" Uriah explained whilst trying to get Bolt off of Celestia's shoulder. "Get back here bird brain!" He yelled as he ignited fire under his boots and flew after the bird, eventually catching him... For about five seconds before Bolt poured around ten-thousand volts in his body, making Uriah fall to the ground, all the while spasming. "Uriah are you okay!?" Luna asked as she ran to Uriah's still spasming body, Uriah then jumped back to his feet and resumed the chase. "Enough!" Celestia yelled causing both Uriah and Bolt to fall to the ground. "Is that really how you treat your pets?" She asked. "Pet? Bolt isn't my pet, he's my friend, companion, etc." Uriah replied. "Bolt is not your pet?" Luna asked. "No, he comes with out of free will... Does that make sense?" Uriah said. "Not really, normally Phoenix's are solitary creatures" Celestia said as Bolt went and sat back on Uriah's shoulder. "Oh, okay then, but remember, Bolt is a lighting Phoenix, maybe that's the reason" "It could be, but that doesn't matter right now" Luna inquired. "What does matter is that you're back and that needs to be celebrated" "Celebrated how?" Uriah asked again. "We could hold a formal party for your return" Luna explained. "I guess we could do that" Celestia said. "Oh and one more thing" she continued as she lapped Uriah over the back of the head. "That for leaving" "I guess I can see the reason in that" Uriah told the winged women. And with that they went of to plan the party, what happened to the guards you might ask? They awoke a half hour later. > Ch.5 Hell Hound > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another one-hundred years later "Princess Celestia, we have someone who would like to speak to you" A guard said opening the door. On the far end of the room sat Celestia with a bit of a bored look on her face, but that was quickly swept away when she heard the guard. "Send them in" she said, then a small flyer boy, no older then eight years with fiery red hair and wings walked in. "What is the reason you wanted to speak to me?" She asked. "I would like to speak with the one called Uriah, please" the boy asked surprisingly sternly. "And why would you want to speak with me?" Uriah asked as he walked out of a corner in the room. "I saw you in that weird dog form, running through the forest, that made me realize I'm not the only one" the kid said. "...What is your name kid?" Uriah asked with a suspicious look in his eyes. "My name is Hell Hound, and I know that you are the thing I saw, because I saw you turn into your human form after you reached the castle" "Okay next question, what do you mean 'I'm not the only one'?" Uriah asked again. "I meant that I can change form as well" Hell Hound said... A defeating silence filled the room. "How?" Celestia asked. "Well my mom told me it is my Conduit power, I don't exactly know what that means, but when mom found out" tears came to his eyes. "She called me a demon and threw my on the street" he was softly crying now. When Uriah noticed this he quickly walked over to the kid. "Hey don't worry, I have no real family either" Uriah said in a surprisingly gentle tone as he put a finger under the boys chin and lifted his head up. "R-really?" Hell Hound asked. "Yes, when I first came to this world two-hundred years ago I had no family either, I was all alone, but soon after that the princesses found me and took me in, I have been living here ever since" Uriah said with a smile. "Wow two-hundred years!? Are you immortal!?" The kid asked with childish excitement. "It sure looks like it. Now how about you show us that other form of yours?" Uriah asked. "Only if those guards leave" the kid said as he pointed to the guards standing next to the door. "Guards do us a favor and leave?" Celestia asked. "If things get out of hand Uriah and I will deal with it" this seemed to calm the guards a little bit as they walked out of the door. "Go ahead, make my day" Uriah said as he took a step back. Hell Hound nodded as he closed his eyes, around a second or so later a red aura appeared around him, pretty soon he burst into crimson flames forcing Uriah and Celestia to close their eyes. When they opened them again they saw a most beautiful yet strange sight, where Hell Hound was just standing there now stood a white and black wolf surrounded by crimson flames. "Well that's certainly... Something" Uriah said with a stunned expression. "Do you hate me now? I understand if you do" Hell Hound said in distinctly more raspy, but sad sounding, voice. "No, I don't think we do" Uriah said. "How much control do you have over this? Because I think Uriah would be more then happy to train you" Celestia said. "Really!?" Hell yelled. "Yes, I would gladly train you" Uriah said with a smile. "But would you mind turning back?" "Oh right" Hell said as he turned back to normal. "Come on, let's get you settled in shall we?" Uriah said as he walked out the door, Hell Hound not far behind. Another hundred years later So another hundred years later, Hell Hound still lived in the castle together with the princesses and Uriah, the reason Hell was still living was because Uriah had "accidentally" cast a time spell after he turned eighteen, causing Hell Hound's body to stop aging. "You get back here!" A certain Cyberdog yelled as he chased a familiar fiery wolf through the forest. "Can't catch me slowpoke!" Hell Hound yelled back. "Oh really?" Uriah said as he appeared out of nowhere in front of Hell. "Dude what the hell!?" Hell yelled as he only barely dodged Uriah, but in doing so he crashed into, or rather straight through, a tree. "You really have to pay more attention to your surroundings" Uriah said chuckling. "Well sorry that I crashed through a tree because you decided to cheat and teleport in front of me!" Hell Hound said as he picked himself out of what was left of the tree after it spontaneously combusted when Hell crashed into it. A letter then appeared in front of Uriah. He picked it out of the air and read it. "Looks like Tia and Luna want to speak with us, come on let's go" Uriah said as he turned around and ran to the castle, Hell not far behind. At the castle "So what's the thing you wanted to talk about?" Uriah asked as he walked, in his human form, into the throne room. "Some of our scouts that we had stationed in the far north have gone missing, we want you two to go to the north and search for them, either that or find the reason they're gone" Luna said in a stern tone. "The north? Why there?" Hell asked, also in his human form. "There is another empire there called the Crystal Empire. Most of our scouts say it's ruled by an evil king named Sombra, they also say he's a master dark magician, he rules the empire with and iron fist" Celestia explained. "Master dark magician? Like me... We'll get him, and we'll show him that even dark magic can be used for the greater good" Uriah said with fierce determination. "Very well then, you'll leave tonight, it's a good week of traveling, even for someone as fast as you two" Luna said. "Go get your things, and may the magics be on your side" Celestia said with a smile. "Yes ma'am!" Hell Hound said with a mock salute. After that Uriah and Hell walked out the throne room. When they closed the door behind. "Road trip!" The two of them yelled as they high fived. > Ch.6 A Road Trip to remember > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "We should have a name" Hell Hound said after a couple hours of silent walking. "Name? Why would we need a name?" Uriah asked as they continued walking. "You know, for this little team we have" "There are only two of us, so it's a duo, not a team" Uriah corrected sternly. "You can't possibly believe we are the only ones of our... Kind I guess would be the right word" Hell Hound said with a puzzled expression. "If there are more like us then I pray to Celestia that they aren't evil" Uriah joked. "Hey I'm serious! There have to be more like us out there" Hell Hound said as he dramatically waved his arms around to emphasize his point. "Even if there are more of us and they would be willing to join us. Then I'm going to repeat myself and ask, why would we need a name?" Uriah dead panned. "Because it's a way to instill fear in our enemies. What do you think of... The Pack?" Hell Hound asked excitedly. "Just because we can turn into canine like forms doesn't mean others can" Uriah said. "Ah! Why do you always have to be such a joy kill!?" Hell Hound yelled in frustration. "I left Bolt at the castle for his own safety, plus, I get cranky if I don't know how he's doing" Uriah said with a playful grin. "Whatever" Hell Hound dead panned. "What do you say we speed this up a bit?" "I'd love to" Uriah said as he turned into the Cyberdog and ran of. "Hey no fair!" Hell Hound yelled as he turned into the flaming wolf and (literally) blasted of after Uriah. He quickly catches up with Uriah since he had trained a lot on his speed. "You aren't fair you're much faster that me!" Uriah said as Hell Hound ran past him. And so they ran, and ran, and ran, they ran for a full week only pausing to eat a snack and then they moved on, at the end of the week they had arrived in the north, and there was absolutely nothing there. "What the hell!?" Hell Hound said as he seemingly bumped into something after hours of just walking around in their human forms. "What's up?" Uriah asked. "I don't know... There seems to be a force field right here" Hell said as he tapped at the invisible field. Small ripples, not unlike those in water, spread out from where he touched the field. "Looks strong... Stand back" Uriah said as he switched places with Hell hound. He then pulled back his right fist, which started glowing silver, and punched the force field. The field itself turned an ominous black before it shattered like glass, there was now a small opening in the shield, barely big enough for the two of the to walk through. Hell Hound, being only six feet, walked through it with ease. Uriah though, could not. "Guess it's the price you pay for being eight feet tall" Uriah said with a frown as he ducked through the gateway. "... What the hell?" He said again when he got to the other side, on the inside of the shield was grass, but not the usual, happy, green grass. No, this grass was really dark green, almost evilly so. But that which lay behind the dark field, was the thing that amazed Uriah and Hell Hound. After about a mile of grass a black, crystal looking tower could be seen, surrounded by a small village. "Come on, this ought a be the Crystal Empire" Hell Hound said as he walked down the grass field, Uriah wasn't following though, he just had a look of shock on his face. "Uriah? What's going on? Are you alright?" Hell tried to ask. "Oh... It... It's nothing" Uriah said absently as he walked in the direction of the crystal tower. "You aren't scared are you?" Hell teased. "The meaning of the word scared don't stand in my dictionary" Uriah replied smugly. "Yeah right" Hell said as he walked on as well. After about a half hour of silent walking they arrived at the village, which appeared to be cut out of crystal, they where walking through what looked like Main Street. "Hmm, Tia wasn't kidding when she said the Crystal empire, it really seems to be cut out one massive crystal" Hell said after releasing a drawn out whistle. "I'm impressed that this looks like a ghost town, seriously nobody has come to see us or anything" Uriah said with a bored expression. "It's probably nothing, what's the worst that could happen?" Hell asked. Just then a cloud of black smoke seemed to seep out of the crystal tower and collected itself at a balcony, about one-hundred feet up. The cloud then dissipated revealing a man, about six feet tall, his skin was paler then a corpse, and he had purple smoke seeping out if his solid green eyes with crimson irises. He had black hair and his right hand looked like a claw and was seemingly a red rock. He wore a fancy red cloak with white and black fur at the edges. Under that a full black tuxedo was visible. "Who dares enter my empire!" The man boomed in a deep voice. "You're king Sombra I presume?" Uriah asked. "Cause if you are we're here to put an end to your rain of terror!" "Such words coming from a weakling like you" Sombra said as he jumped down. "You two should make some decent opponents" "Decent? We, my friend, are going to kick your ass" Hell Hound smack talked. At that, Sombra released a dark chuckle. "You have so much left to learn" He said whilst showing the best fake smile he had, also revealing that he had fangs. "But I, am here to teach you" he continued before he threw of his cape (which went up on black smoke) and charged at Hell. While there was a good two-hundred foot between them, Sombra crosse it in a matter of seconds before he released a devastating punch to Hell Hound's abdomen. Throwing him back a good hundred feet as he tumbled over the ground. After the initial surprise was over Uriah grabbed his highly modified, 50 caliber, twin revolvers out of the holsters on both his hips and strafed around Sombra unleashing a hail of bullets straight into his back causing him to stumble forward a little bit before he turned into a cloud of black smoke and flew behind Uriah where he materialized again and kicked Uriah in the back, sending him flying a good seventy-five feet. "Damn, this guy I stronger than I expected" Hell Hound said as he walked to where Uriah landed, who was just getting up. "Most definitely... You keep him busy, I'll summon a couple of skeletons okay?" Uriah asked as purple smoke began seeping from his eyes. "Sure" Hell said as he burst into bright red flames as he turned into the fire-wolf, he dropped down on all fours and charged at Sombra, but instead of hitting him Hell began running circles around him. "Time to see if all those years of training will pay of" He said again as he increased his speed and after a couple of seconds broke the sound barrier with a massive bang, throwing Sombra through the air as he was only trying to hit Hell Hound with various beams of pure dark magic, horribly failing at it. "Did I miss anything?" Uriah asked as he was followed by three skeletons with bow and arrows. "Bows and arrows? Seriously?" Hell asked. "There was nothing else in the ground" Uriah said shrugging. "You fools! Do you really think you can beat me!" Sombra yelled as he teleported in front of Uriah and punched straight through his rib cage, his right hand reappearing as it burst out of Uriah's back. Making him cough up blood as the skeletons faded into nothingness. "Pathetic, is this truly the best those two princesses have to offer" Sombra smack talked as he pulled his hand out of Uriah's chest, making Uriah fall to his knees, and eventually, face first on the ground. Lying in a rapidly forming pool of his own blood. Live slowly leaving his eyes. "Uriah no!" Hell said as he tried to rush towards Uriah's body but he was stopped as Sombra shot a bolt of dark magic at him. "Pathetic, I can't believe those two stupid princesses sent two outcasts to-" before Sombra could finish that sentence a piller of light burst from the clouds and hit Uriah's body. "What the hell?" Hell Hound said in surprise. "King Sombra of the Crystal Empire" a disembodied calm but stern voice said from the direction. "For committing crimes against mankind, Faust has decided to banish you from this plane of existence!" The voice said again as the pillar of light shattered, revealing Uriah's body floating there, his eyes glowing a bright radioactive green as wings made of pure light appeared on his back. He then raised his right hand, it then began glowing white, soon after a massive beam of pure white shot out of hit and hit Sombra head on. "Rrraaagh!!!" Sombra could be heard screaming as the shadow of his body could be seen fading from existence in the beam of light. After that the glow disseappered from Uriah's eyes and the wings shattered, dropping him to the ground. "Uriah are you alright!?" All Hell got was a grunt as Uriah rolled himself over, now lying on his back he opened his eyes, which seemed to be glowing a little. "I'm fine Hell, don't worry" "Doing worry! Don't worry! Dude you were just killed and resurrected all within the span of a minute!" The red haired flyer yelled as he comically waved his arms around. "How did that happen anyways, the resurrection, I mean" he asked again with a puzzled look on his face. "I don't know" That was a lie, Uriah did know, but he had to sort it out before he could tell him. "Meh, whatever, let's just get back home shall we?" Hell asked. "Okay" Uriah replied as he and Hell stood up stood up. When they stood up fully the ground started shaking. "What was that?" Hell asked, another tremor hit as the Crystal Empire started fading away. "What's happening!?" Hell asked/yelled. A split second after that Uriah's right eye flashed green. "The Empire is disappearing, Sombra put a curse on it that's doing this, come on, let's go" Uriah said strangely calmly before he put his right hand on Hell's shoulder and they teleported away in a silver flash. > Ch.7 Guardian Angel? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- (First person, Uriah's Point Of View, a couple days after the battle with Sombra, late in the afternoon) 'How... How is this even possible?' I thought to myself as I lay on my bed in my room back in the castle, Bolt was sitting on my desk in the corner, fast asleep. 'Can I truly be a... a guardian angel? No... right?' I thought again as the memory of when I was hit by that beam of light played itself in my mind. ------------------------ "Where am I?" I asked out loud as I floated in an empty white space. "Pr-17, we have been watching you" a disembodied, kind female voice sounded all around me. "W-Who are you! Show yourself!" I commanded as I frantically looked around. "Is that how you speak to your superiors? But oh well, I couldn't expect you to remember after all. I am Faust" the voice spoke again. "Wait? As in THE Faust!?" The voice chuckled. "Yes I am THAT Faust, but that's not important right now, what is important, Pr-17, is that you have exceeded our expectations" "What expectations?" I asked. "I'll just start at the beginning... You are the original and only, guardian angel to have have ever been created. In Elysium (AKA Heaven) a lab was set up, it's purpose was to research the full power of angelic technology. After hundreds of years of testing and failures, the lab finally had a breakthrough, a being both immortal and more powerful then any and all angels ever conceived. But there was a problem, the organism created was unstable and dangerous, for to make it immortal the next step in evolution had to be made, controlled evolution. The original idea was to mechanically enhance a timberwolf, the mechanical parts where incompatible with the unique biological and magical structure of a timberwolf though. It had to be mutated beyond recognition before the enhancements would be accepted by the body, the end result was you, the Cyberdog. When you where first awoken from forced slumber, you were very aggressive. So when you where brought before me, and I told you your purpose, you didn't accept, and attacked me. This forced me to erase your memory, strip you of your power and banish you to Equis. But it looked like fate had a different plan, as when you crashed into the surface, my two greatest angels found you" "Celestia and Luna" I said as I filled in the gaps. "Yes" Faust said. "But if you erased my memory, then why did I remember my name and all that weaponry?" "You remembered the weaponry because you where pre-programmed with battle knowledge. And your name isn't Uriah that's your title, Uriah is angelic for failure, you will always keep that title. But as of right now you have been promoted to Fallen Angel status, you will function as a mercenary and work for me" That hit me like a train. "Fallen Angel? But, but I exceeded your expectations didn't I! Then why am I still dubbed a failure!? And what's unstable about me!?" I yelled as tears started to come to my eyes. "You are, and always will be, a failure. You have your unstableness to thank for that, it was predicted that every five to six hundred years your magical power will reset, the reason is still unknown. That is all for know, until we meet again, Pr-17... Uriah" Faust said as the white abyss began to black out. "No wait there is still so much I have to ask!" I yelled. ------------------------ (Back to 3rd person) The memory ends there. *sigh* "guess I am" Uriah decided. Uriah's inner monologue was cut off as a couple of knocks sounded from the door followed by Hell Hound's voice. "Uriah, come on man get out of there, you've been in here ever since we came back from the Empire" Hell said in a genuinely worried voice. "Celestia and Luna are worried sick about you" "Fine, I have to talk to you guys anyways" Uriah said as he jumped out of his bed and walked to the door, opening it he saw not only Hell Hound standing there, but Celestia and Luna as well, both had a worried and surprised expression on their face as the eight foot man walked out of the door. "Let's talk" Uriah simply said. (Five minutes later, court yard) After a couple of minutes of silent walking the four of them made it to the court yard. "What is it you wanted to talk about Uriah?" Luna asked as Uriah came to a halt in the middle of the court yard. Without looking at them Uriah spoke. "Did you know?" "Know what?" Celestia asked. "Did... Did you know I was a Guardian Angel?" Uriah asked again in an emotionless tone. "A what?" Hell Hound asked while Celestia and Luna got a surprised look on their faces. Not being capable of hiding it anymore Celstia spoke up. "Y-yes, we knew... I suppose you have spoken to Faust then?" "Yes, I did" Uriah then looked up. "It's actually kinda funny, who knew that an abomination like the Cyberdog could be a guardian angel... I'm actually kind of relieved, now I finally know just what I really am" he said after which he turned to the rest with a small smile. "Wait, aren't you stronger then normal angels then?" Hell asked. "I most certainly am" Uriah said with a smirk. "Too bad there aren't any to see just how powerful you are" Hell said with a sad look on his face. "Oh really? I see two perfect examples just standing there" "Wait, you mean" "Yup, Celestia and Luna are both angels, unsurprisingly" Uriah said with a small smile. "I see Faust told you more then I expected, but before anything else, when exactly did you talk to her?" Celestia asked. "When you sent us to the Crystal Empire... I... Sort of died, actually" "You what!?" Luna yelled. "Hey don't worry, obviously I didn't stay dead for long" Uriah said as he took a step backwards because of Luna's outburst. "Anyways, when I was dead I found myself to be in a white void, soon enough Faust spoke to me, saying that I am a guardian angel created in a lab in Elysium, and... saying that I was a total failure, I was and still am an unstable being, she said that my magical power will reset after every five to six hundred years. Although because I exceeded their expectations I was promoted to fallen Angel status, basically I'm a mercenary" "Hmm, that was to be expected, contrary to popular believe Faust isn't the most trusting of people... oh well that doesn't matter right now, what does matter is that you finally have some clarity" Celestia said smiling. Uriah hummed in response. "But that doesn't matter! Dude! If you're stronger then Tia and Luna then-" Hell Hound started. "No, I don't need to test my strength. I'm fine" Uriah countered. "But!" "No buts Hell got it? Besides I'm sure Faust was just exaggerating" "Probably" Luna and Celestia said at the same time, even though they both knew Faust NEVER exaggerated.
