"Hey what's taking so long, Storm? I thought you were the fastest pegasus in Cloudsdale!" shouted Thunder Dancer. Thunder Dancer is a bright yellow pegasus mare with a blue mane and tail. She also has a grayish cumulus cloud as a cutie mark. "And I thought you were the quietest mare in Equestria." Storm Flare jokingly said back. Storm flare is a maroon pegasus colt with both dark and light red mane and tail. His cutie mark is a meteor because of a surprising skill he learned as a filly. Thunder just rolled her eyes and Storm caught up with her.

“Where are we going exactly?” Storm asked.

“I told you, there is something at Ponyville I saw the other day and I want you to see it too.” Thunder answered.

“Alright.” Storm muttered and followed Thunder to Ponyville.

It was dusk when they got to Ponyville and all the ponies were either at home or in town. Although most of the ponies were at home. At the edge of Ponyville, Thunder planted her hooves on the ground. Thunder looked at Storm as he was landing as well.”Follow me, Storm. I bet you’re gonna like what I wanted to show you.”

“We’ll see about that.” Storm said with disbelief.

After 20 minutes of walking, Storm and Thunder finally got to a river canal. There was a blanket on the ground, a picnic basket on the blanket and a birthday cake. “Surprise!” Thunder said with glee.

Storms face glowed. “What is this?”

“Well,” started Thunder, “Since it is your birthday I thought it be nice to throw you a surprise party. Just the two of us.” she blushed as she said those words.

“This is so nice of you, but why? Nopony has ever done something like this to me.” Storm stated.

“Well...It’s because I...because...” Thunder hesitated to talk until she said, “its because we’re great friends.”

“Is that so? Well thank you then.” Storm said cheerfully approaching the picnic, Thunder following. As they sat down across from each other, Storm took a glass of punch, rose it in the air and said “To our friendship. May it last a lifetime.”

Thunder copied, “To our friendship.”

The following day in Cloudsdale, Storm wasn’t feeling like his usual self. He felt sick but wasn’t. Perhaps it was that picnic with Thunder he had, he thought to himself. Just then, his friends Shaker, a dark green pegasus colt with an orange mane and tail, and Runner, a silver pegasus colt with black and white hair and tail color arrive at his door-step.

“Hey Storm, where have you been? Haven’t seen you at all last night.” asked Runner.

“Yeah, you’re usually all over Cloudsdale at night.” Shaker added.

“Well, Thunder invited me to go to Ponyville and have a picnic there and...” Runner interrupts Storm.

“Oh, I see, you were on a date.” Runner said.

“No, she’s just a friend.” Storm defended

“Whatever, we know how you two like each other.”

“What?” At this point, Storm was confused. Did Thunder really like him? He never noticed anything. Than again, its been hard for him to notice things like that since the disappearance of his mother. ‘Where is she?’ he thought to himself. The thought of it almost put a tear in his eye until one of the pegasi said something.

“Hey Storm, you ok?” asked Shaker.

“Huh? Oh, yeah... I'm fine.” He said. “Can you guys excuse me?”

“Oh, sure. Ok.” Runner said. “Let’s go, Striker.”

“Alright, R.” And at that the two pegasi flew off into Cloudsdale town square. Storm head back inside his house and into his bedroom. He looked at a picture near his bed. It was of him as a young foal and his mother.
“Where are you, mom. Where are you?” he sobbingly said.

A few days later, Storm was feeling better and fully powered again. Storm was at his day job working as a Equestrian Weather Patrol pony, the only line of work that would accept him, when he noticed Thunder with a snowflake situation.

“Need some help, Thunder?” Storm asked.

“Oh, no. I got this.” Thunder answered stressfully, trying to fix a messed up snowflake.

“That doesn’t look like “having this” Thunder. Let me help you.”

Thunder looked at him intensely but eventually let him take over. “I don’t understand, why can’t I do anything right?” she said putting herself down. Storm looked at her.

“Don’t say that. Everypony makes mistakes sometimes." Storm told her, "Unless your Derpy of course. Than you make mistakes almost every time."

Thunder and Storm giggled at that comment and than Thunder said, "Thanks Storm. You’re the greatest colt I know.”

“Aww, it’s nothing. You just need some practice is all. I mean, it’s only your 1st week working here. I made plenty of mistakes when I started. I better get back to work. See ya.”

“Bye Storm.” Thunder said, looking at him heading back to his station.

After work Storm Decided to go to Sugarcube Corner in Ponyville for some cupcakes. He didn't like being outside of Cloudsdale, where he was born and grew up, but from time to time, he would visit the earth ponies land. As he was walking to Sugarcube Corner though, he ran into Runner and Strike.

"Hey guys," Storm said, "what are you two doing here?"

"We came down here to get some cupcakes from Pinkie Pie." Strike said. "Why are you down here?"

"I came down here to get some cupcakes too for Thunder and I tomorrow. I love Pinkie's cupcakes." Storm answered.

"Thunder, eh?" Runner added.

"Yeah, she and I are...." Storm was interrupted by the sounds of flapping from behind. When he turned around, he saw a grey skinned pegasus mare with blonde hair landing with a message in her mouth. "I brought you a letter, Storm!" she mumbled.

"Thanks, Derpy." said Storm taking the letter from her. Derpy smiled gleefully and took off.

"What is it, Storm?" Runner asked.

"I don't know, lemme see..." Storm began to open the letter and read aloud.

Dear Storm,
I was wondering if you would like to go to the Everfree
Forest and go on an adventure with me. I think it might
be fun. If you want to meet me at the entrance to the
forest at 5:00 p.m. Hope I see you there.
Sincerely,
Thunder Dancer

"Ooo, she wants to go on a date with you, Storm." Runner said.

"A date? In the Everfree Forest? Are you sure?" Storm said sarcastically.

"Well duh, you have to be stupid to not notice that she wants you."
"She doesn't want me, she just wants to spend time with me."

"Alone."

"So?"

"Why else would she want to spend time with you alone? Face it, she likes you. She has been all over you since you got your cutie mark. Which if you ask me sounds a bit shallow."

"Shut up." Storm said. Before the argument could have continued on, Storm was off to the Everfree Forest entrance to meet up with Thunder.
