> Let Battle Commence > by Lunnana > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > A face full of payback > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was sitting with my hooves up, watching the weekly Eastenders. Luna was checking her emails, and Cadence was in the kitchen, cursing her failing attempt of baking. The castle seemed pretty quite, like any average day. I could hear Luna's voice as she questioned her emails out loud, becoming louder as she did. 'Will you please shut up!' I said to her when she had got to the point where I couldn't even hear the TV. 'Well, sorry, but have you seen the comments.....' Her voice was drowned out as I held my hoof over the volume button hard. I could just catch her rolling her eyes as I turned away. My focus was, again, disturbed by a calling voice from below the balcony. It sounded so familiar, like it was.... Queen Chrysalis. I slapped my face with my hoof. 'Princess Celestia, show yourself!' She called again. I ignored it, but Luna didn't give me a very approving look. I ignored her too, and carried on watching Eastenders. Quite suddenly, a rock was thrown through the window and rolled itself beside me. I picked it up, finding a little note strapped onto it with a rubber band. Show yourself, or die! The mid-way adverts came just as Queen Chrysalis had thrown it. So, I decided to face her, but I wasn't going out alone. I practically dragged Luna onto the balcony with me and looked down at Queen Chrysalis. 'Surrender over your throne, or face the consequences!' She shouted up at me. I kept quiet, until she became impatient. 'Answer me, you fool!' I could see the aggressive look on her face,'Surrender over your throne, NOW!' I had to think fast, really fast. 'Can you give me a minute?' She rolled her eyes, like the way Luna had rolled her eyes at me. 'Fine..' I rushed back into the castle, Queen Chrysalis had no idea what I was about to do, I didn't have much of an idea either, but I had something, something I would probably regret. I came back and looked over the side of the balcony. 'Well, are you going to give up your throne?' She stood there, waiting for my response, almost completely calm. But when a giant toilet came hurdling down beside her, she didn't seem so amused. After all, they used to call toilets 'thrones' a while ago. I had first thought my loop-hole would make her leave, but it didn't. I suppose she deserved it for smashing my balcony door with a rock.. > Run away is the answer to everything > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Queen Chrysalis was almost bright red will anger. She held up a hoof and cried out for her minions. 'Behold my power!' She screamed, as if she was waiting for something. But there was silence. Nothing had blown up, like I had expected somehow. 'I said, BEHOLD MY POWER!!!' This time, the volume of her voice had become louder. Thousands of flying minions of hers came buzzing over the horizon and aimed themselves at the castle. Chrysalis took the chance to laugh. My first thought was how much I hated Miss.Everything-her-own-way, but it took me a while to recover from that thought when I had realized the army of thieving idiots heading my way. 'What do we do?!' Luna urgently asked me. I looked over my shoulder and ran through the glass door, without realizing it was shut, so I had extended the smashed hole from the rock. 'RUN!' I called back to her. Luna had no time to tell me to think of a better plan, she jumped through the shattered door and followed me. We were both running through the living room, and I took the chance of watching a small part of Eastenders while I ran. I had just managed to see Chrysalis and her minions smash through what was left of the balcony door, before I had completely left the room. I'm pretty sure she saw me too. Chrysalis chased me and Luna through into the kitchen, where Cadence was still throwing kitchen supplies at the oven because she had no idea how to bake a few simple cookies. Luckily for us, Chrysalis had just slipped on an egg yolk on the floor and want soaring through the kitchen, right in front of Cadence as she threw a wooden spoon into the air. It hit her hard between the eyes, and she fell to the floor. All I could do was laugh at her, forgetting my chance to run. When she had recovered, Chrysalis, Cadence, Luna and I were running wild through the castle. The minions seemed to have lost themselves, and were probably running around like headless chickens by now. Eventually, I didn't have Chrysalis behind me, so I took my time to finish watching the rest of Eastenders in the living room, which was a mess. Their was glass everywhere, the coffee table was upside down and Luna's laptop screen had cracked. But the TV was fine, and that's all that mattered. Eastenders came back on after a couple of pathetic adverts. I was quite happy to just sit there. Until Chrysalis came barging in, laughing as she galloped towards me. 'SSHHH!' I shushed her quite loud, enough to let her know I meant business. She looked at me, then looked at the screen, then looked at me again. But Chrysalis became impatient and cried out with fury. She grabbed the remote out of my hoof and flung it straight at the TV. In a moments notice, the screen was a gaping hole in the middle of it with a remote sticking out. 'AAHHH!' I cried, quickly running towards the remote and attempting to turn it on. It only made a loud, annoying, high pitched buzzing noise that forced me and Chrysalis to cover our ears while I turned it off.Another window had smashed from the sound. I saw Chrysailis' face of fury, so I quickly galloped out the room. I hid under my bed, only to find that was exactly where Luna and Cadence were hiding too. 'OK, remind me whey Chrysalis is rampaging through our home?' Cadence asked quietly. 'Because Tia decided to throw a toilet at her!' Luna replied. 'Psh, you say that like it's a bad thing, besides, I was aiming for her face.' We all shut up when we heard the sound of hoofsteps in the room. 'Son of a...'' Luna quickly covered my mouth as Chrysalis searched for us, the sound of her hooves still tapping on the floorboards. It all went dead silent, I didn't know what to do. I just stayed still. Luna stayed still, but Cadence was shivering like a coward. Suddenly, Chrysalis' head poked under the bed as she grinned at us and shouted us away. We all screamed as we jumped out our only escape, the window. > When life gives you a giant green ball, roll away > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chrysalis flew after us, but only a few of her minions followed her. The rest were still lost in thee castle. I had taken a different route to Luna and Cadence, I thought I might be able to outsmart her, but she came hurdling round the corner after me. I hid around one of the towers, watching her as she searched for me. Unfortunately, she had managed to catch my shadow, and immediately cackled as we began a chase. Long story short, we were flying for about 20 minutes before me, Luna and Cadence collided and fell to the ground. Chrysalis soared to the damp grass. We all saw her horn glow green and flash out with light. I sheltered my eyes, without knowing what to do next. When I opened them again to the sound of the same cold hearted laugh, she was flying away into the castle, and we were in a giant green globe. 'Great, now what do we do? Because I don't think we call run away THIS time!' Luna reminded me. Cadence waited behind Luna, hoping I had a good enough plan. I felt offended by her look, why was I the one who had to make a plan?! They knew I was useless. I tried to transport us out, but my magic was also useless inside Chrysalis' spell. Then I smiled, in fact, I grinned. 'We simply roll away.' I said so blankly, like I was some sort of professor. I could see Luna was about to give me her approving look again, but then I saw the small part on her tiny smile that said- 'Perfect.' And I knew she was in. We each pushed against one side of the ball, until it finally picked up enough speed to roll without hardly any force. We rolled into the castle. Barely fitting through the corridors, we began to look for Chrysalis. Cadence was getting tired of going at the same, slow speed, and decided to put more effort into rolling the ball. Eventually, she had managed to bring the speed up to, just about, what seemed like terminal velocity. We were tumbling down the corridors now at a great speed, I felt like that giant rock from 'Indiana Jones'! SMASH! The ball hit a corner wall that was impossible to turn round in a giant ball. There was a small crack above our heads, which promoted to a completely shattered ball. 'Freedom!' I shouted, throwing my arms up like some rugby player had just scored a goal. 'Not yet.' Luna dragged me through the corridors as we carried on searching for Chrysalis. Cadence followed. > If you're in a tricky situation, turn on the TV > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- We spotted her, but she hadn't seen us yet. We were still all wandering round the corridors when we had seen her, and she seemed lost. 'Quick Cadence, throw a wooden spoon at her again!' I was panicking, what was I meant to say, throw her a picnic? Cadence looked at me, then looked at Chrysalis and quietly unscrewed one of the light bulbs. Gently, she lifted it above her head, and let it go as she swung her arm back down. It missed her. 'Damn!' Cadence cursed. Chrysalis had become aware of us. Looking pretty surprised of our escape, she quickly ran into the glass room, hiding behind the many plants that decorated it. 'Where is she?!' Cadence was the first one to burst into the glass room, followed by me. Luna sighed, she refused to step hoof in the big glass room, and waited outside. 'When you are finished playing your silly game, I'll be here.' Well, who needed her anyway? Cadence and I looked around the glass room, without moving an inch. We couldn't find her. Though her horrid laugh echoed through the big room. Then I had a brilliant idea, I still had the TV remote in my hoof as I held it in front of Cadences face. 'Whats that?' She whispered. 'Plan B.' I replied, hitting the on button. Immediately, the same irritating buzzing sound called through the castle. I pushed Cadence out of the room and back into the corridor with me as the glass roof shattered into at least one thousand little pieces and sheltered Chrysalis as she screamed. I could see the delighted look on Luna's face for once, and I knew she was impressed. Chrysalis had given up Her minions had fled from the irrataiting noise. 'I'll be back for your throne!' Shes cried as she flew away with them. 'So, what should we do now?' I asked. 'The kitchens ruined,' Cadence sighed, 'I guess baking isn't really my thing.' 'My laptop screen's broken,' Replied Luna, smiling. 'I hated those comments anyway.' They both smiled and looked at me, expecting a smile. 'Well as long as you two are happy, you wont mind paying for a new TV?'
