“I’ll miss you...Alex.”

“Have fun in your new life…”

“Don’t...make the same mistake…”

Alex didn’t know what was going on. The eerie silence surrounded him and seemed to choke the air of any source of light . He scanned his environment...it was a forest, however it looked off. The sense of something evil lurking around him made Alex worry and start to panic. He started to run, not knowing which way was which. The once dead forest seemed to only echo with the rustling of Alex running through the trees blindly hoping to find himself out of the despairing woods. His heart pounded as he continued to navigate the darkness with his hands and little of what he could see. However, his run came to a sudden stop as he rammed into something furry and large. It didn't seem happy at all as it gave a menacing growl and turned to him with a leer that pierced the blackness surrounding it. Alex was frightened at what was in front of him. He curled himself up, knowing that this may be his final moments of life.

Then everything shined bright around him. Squinting, he rose his hand up to block the overwhelming light in his eyes. The creature came into view and the young human noticed that it was of some kind of lion that retreated from the strange glow. When the light cleared, he noticed a golden sword in his risen hand. A smile crossed his face as his memory recollected what the blade was. “Eternal Harmony” a voice spoke, “A blade of remarkable strength...you are it’s chosen wielder...Use it to spread your light to the world and change the face of darkness.” Just looking at it gave him the courage and strength to keep going. He held the sword tightly as trekked through the forest. After what seemed to be a long walk, Alex started to finally see that the forest around him slowly started to change. The bark was lighter and the sound of life filled the air as he could hear birds in the trees. Eventually the forest thinned out to where it finally stopped and opened up to a clear field. The sun’s rays hit him as it started to lower itself towards the western horizon. His appearance could be made out now too. He had bright blue eyes with spiky dark windswept hair, a familiar looking jacket of white on the right and black on the left with a cyan colored collar and a piece of platinum armor on his left shoulder.

On looking towards the star, he spotted something that caused him to take a bit of caution. Perhaps it was another dangerous creature like before. Alex knew he had to be brave so he kept going. As he got closer, the figure he saw got clearer. He was ready for anything now. But what he thought was a monster turned out to be something unexpected...it was a blue pony with a brown mane and tail sitting. Alex was relieved at the sight and put his sword away. He decided to only bring it out if he felt as if he were in an uncomfortable situation or if some explaining needed to be done.

He decided to go ahead and see this pony’s reaction toward him. The pony noticed him as he was walking toward him and was shocked at his sudden appearance. Alex took a step back at how the pony’s face was full of shock. After a bit, the pony finally broke the silence and began to speak. This startled Alex since he wasn't used to talking creatures other than humans.

(Song)

“Hello there. Name’s Shutter Flash. What's yours?” The blue pony asked him. Alex decided to play it safe and not show any surprise.

He replied, “Well...My name is Christian Alex Gomez...but please, just Alex is alright.” He preferred Alex to begin with but decided to tell him his full name anyway.

Shutter thought he seemed friendly, so he extends a hoof to greet him. "It’s great to meet you!” Alex smiled at his kindness. He took the hoof and shook it.

"Likewise." He replies with a smile on his face.

“Have you seen the other human here in town?” Shutter asked. This gave surprise yet hope for Alex knowing that there was civilization near and, more importantly, another human here.

“Really?” He began. “I thought I would be the only one...is my kind here a common species or am I just lucky to be here?” Alex finished with a question.

“You're very unique...May I take your picture?” Shutter asked. Alex found this to be quite cute. He knew that he was in a peaceful environment now.

Alex gave a small chuckle, “Sure...so what’s the other like?” He asked as Shutter took Alex’s picture. Shutter then pulled his camera bag close and started to put his camera away.

“He's small and very kind. Fluttershy's just recently adopted him actually.” Shutter explained to Alex.

“Wow, sounds like a nice kid!” He commented. “Not really sure how I managed to get here...but I wouldn't mind staying here for the time being. So...what's his name?” Alex asked curiously as Shutter finished putting his camera away.

“His name is Toby.” He answered, “Funny though, because I just had to handle a kid that was abandoned recently. His name was Daniel. Humans confuse me personally.” Shutter replied and commented, answering his question.

So...some humans already have experiences here...it’s a good thing they were taken care of as well. He thought before speaking. “I see...Well, you have my thanks.” Alex began, “I do not come across people, err...ponies, very often that would take someone in if they're lost. I would personally help them, but strange things have been happening to me lately and it’s been messing with my head. From what I recall, I've been chosen to wield this.” He then brought out his ever so graceful golden sword and continued, “...This is the Eternal Harmony...When I found this, I blacked out and found myself here.” He points in the direction of the forest then continues, “These voices in my head say that I am foolish to call myself a hero. They say I'm too young to be one. But that doesn't matter, just because I'm 16 doesn't mean I can't make a difference in the world.” He finishes confidently.

Shutter was touched by his thoughts about what he can accomplish. "You seem to have a good heart." He complemented his spirit.

“However, what troubles me is who I really am.” Alex began again, “...My name and the reason why I have this sword is all I have left…” An idea then popped inside of his head, “Tell me Shutter, has there been any trouble going on around here that I should know about?” He finished by asking a question.

Shutter then taps his chin with his blue hoof. "To be honest with you...Yes." He replies.

"Really? Oh, well then please do tell!" Alex says in a thrilled tone.

Shutter responds by saying, “Yeah...if you follow me, I'll lead you to something I discovered the other day." He was about to turn to go but then looked back at Alex. "Would you like a ride?" He asks.

Alex smiled at his request. "Yes, a ride sounds nice."

Shutter lowered himself to offer his back. "Please hop on."

Alex then got on Shutter’s back and told him, "Thank you...we should get going. The sooner I know where I am, how I got here, and how I can help, the easier it will be to regain my thoughts."

Shutter looked back and nodded. "Right! Here we go!" He kicked off with a small snort and got into a moderate gallop. "I’ve never seen anything like it...I found Daniel there and sent him to the princesses, but something about the area seemed...off." The land stretched out far in front of them and the sight of Ponyville could be seen off in the distance. The quiet town was at peace with its colorful homes and hay rooftops shining off with golden rays. Tiny multi-colored figures moved about here and there as they neared it.

Alex looks in awe at the sight of Ponyville. "Wow..." he says, "It looks amazing...So, where exactly am I? Now that I know I'm a very rare species to this world, this can’t possibly be my place of origin." Alex asks as he continues to stare at the sight of Ponyville with wonder in his eyes.

"You're very rare, to say the least." Shutter replied as he came up to a fork in the road. The left sign read 'Ponyville' and the other road said 'Sweet Apple Acres'. Leaning right, Shutter looked back at Alex. "You happen to be in the country of Equestria, home of all species of ponies, horses, and other equine types." Shutter then glanced at Alex’ golden sword. "What kind of blade is that?" Alex gave out a stressed sigh

(Stop Song)

"From what the voices have told me before hand,” Alex began as he held it up, “This blade is called the Eternal Harmony. A blade that was forged out of the purest of light and was meant for someone who would change the way we look at darkness...I'm still not sure why it change how we would look at darkness rather than just destroying it...Even further, I'm not sure why it chose me...I'm just your regular everyday 15 year old kid living a normal life...at least I think it was…" He said to himself as he finished his explanation.

"Well, it looks like you're more than that to have such a special blade at your beckoning call.” Shutter began, “Most likely, it can sense something greater deeper inside of you, something that hasn't come to light just yet. Don't you worry Alex. I’m sure that it will reveal itself sooner or later." The orchard soon was rising from over the hill along of the sweet smell of the apples cooking. Shutter quickened the pace as he began to pant lightly. "I'll be here to help you out, Alright?" As they rapidly neared the homestead, an orange pony with a beautiful mane came into view as she sat by the wooden fence and smiled to the evening air. "Evening Applejack!" Shutter yelled.

Alex grew uneasy at the sight of someone new. He hesitates a bit. Not so sure how this is gonna work out...wait, they shouldn't know who I am. It’s too early and probably too risky. Alex thought quickly and told Shutter, "Hey Shutter, please promise me not to reveal myself to anyone else yet...I feel uneasy carrying a sword in such a peaceful environment. Some people may find it odd or see me as a threat or maybe even an invader...I'll try to make up a story from what I know if things start to turn bad." Alex finished explaining.

Shutter felt Alex shift on his back and seemed to understand that Alex didn't wish to be fully known just yet. Applejack looked up and stared at them as suddenly Shutter turned sharply into the trees. "I'm sorry Alex... I should've thought more about that." He slowed his pace a little to regain his bearings. "Okay...We are getting close."

"Shutter Flash! Where did you go!?" The yell of the aforementioned Applejack could be heard giving them pursuit.

"She won't find us as long as we reach the spot I was talking about." He kicked off and ran through woods as trees flew by them. "Anyway Alex, its very funny that you mentioned something about darkness..."

Alex grew worried, "S-So...how long will you have to be running for?...And what is this place you're speaking of?" Alex could feel the sweat running down his face. "I'm starting to wonder if me coming here wasn't an accident after all..."

"It's a waterfall I go to every other day... I felt something strange and found Daniel covered in some black-colored tar." Shutter started to slow down as the rushing of water neared. "I'm sorry Alex if I'm scaring you..." Shutter says.

Alex gave a relieved sigh at the sound of the water. "I see...It's alright, at least from I can tell, we're getting close...ugh, this is a lot to take in." Alex lowered his head in sadness.

Shutter stopped and turned back to give Alex a light nuzzle. "Hey there... come on now. I'm here to help you my friend."

Alex lifts his head back up and gives a slight chuckle, "Yeah...and I appreciate greatly." He looks up ahead, "I think we're about there."

With a smile, Shutter agreed with a small nod. He turned his head forward and trotted a little more as the sound of rushing water was very close by. "We are here, Alex." With a hoof, Shutter pulled back on a large leaf and revealed a pale blue waterfall, the size of a story building. At the base of the water there was a dark ominous liquid.

Alex then looked up at just how tall this waterfall was and he was stunned. "I've never seen such a nice and peaceful sight." He thought out loud. He then looked down to see the dark ominous liquid. "Shutter, what is that at the base of this enormous waterfall?" Alex asked as he got off of Shutter’s back and slowly started to walk towards it.

Shutter followed after him and felt his hairs stand up on the back of his neck. "A-Alex... I'm starting to feel something is wrong here." Shutter says in a worried tone.

Alex stopped walking and looks back to see a worried look on Shutter's face, "Huh? What do you mean? What's going on?" He asks.

“I don't know, Alex." He steps closer and looks at the water. "I can sense something off... almost unnatural. Like from a terrifying dream." He says.

Alex feels a cold wind pass by him and shivers "Now that you’ve mentioned it...something doesn't seem right about this place...it's almost as if- URG!" He is cut off by a terrible ache in his head. Accept the darkness...embrace it... A voice similar to his own calls out in his head. Unfortunately, it was just too much for him. He became wobbly and soon fell to the ground with a very audible THUMP!

“Alex!" Shutter ran to his side and nuzzled his cheek in worry. "Alex can you hear me!?"

It was nothing back pitch black in the eyes of Alex. All that could heard was the same voices as before. He's powerless. Nothing like the other heroes were. He's just a kid. LEAVE HIM ALONE! I sense that there is great potential in Alex! He then could hear his name being called out and was soon jumped back into reality. He weakly opened his eyes and spoke while waking up. "Ugh...What...just happened?" He asked.

Shutter looked at him with great relief, he would've even smiled if he wasn't feeling the ominous evil around them. "Alex! I'm so happy you're okay. I better get you back to town so we can see if you're hurt in any way. Don't worry... I will only consult my family and a personal friend to help us.” Shutter began to wrap his hooves around him to help him up.

Alex then got back up and responded, "I thank you for your aid Shutter, but I'm gonna have to refuse that offer...I can't ri-urk!" He stumbles a bit, but gets up. "I can't risk being seen by anyone else...who knows...maybe even that one pony we saw earlier may be still looking for us..."

"Why? Alex... Don't you trust me?" Shutter brought his hoof up and lightly rested it on the young humans shoulders. "Alex you like it or not I feel responsible for you. I'm not going to leave you in the state you are." Shutter then looks at him straight in the eyes. "Let me help you."

Alex gave a defeated sigh "...Alright...I suppose we can work with that...it's just that I can't help but feel that the darkness is all around us...I don't want to put more in danger because of my presence...that is if they will accept me...I mean...how will the others react to me? ANOTHER human here, but older and is carrying a sword...I hope they don't see me as a threat...Shutter, if they do, I won't hesitate to defend myself. I am not one to kill, but if I am pushed, expect to be pushed back...I'm sorry if I seem like too much trouble..." Tears started to form in Alex's eyes.

Shutter took him in a hug. "You're still young and you’re scared. I'll protect you... when the darkness comes we'll face it together," Shutter then let him go in time to notice the dark liquid moving. "Alex?"

Alex then noticed the liquid and closed his eyes What's going on? He thought to himself. Leave the other to save yourself..... A voice called in his head. Almost as if he was being controlled, Alex opened his eyes and started to run off on his own without Shutter.

Shutter stood his ground and faced the black liquid. "What's going on here?"

Alex was now running, but he felt hesitant...Damnit...what am I doing?! I should be helping Shutter! He thought to himself as he kept going, but the voice in his head didn’t seem to agree. No! Alex, Even if you do survive, what will the others think of you?! Alex then slowed down and thought for a bit, then said in his head, It's something I'm gonna find out then. Alex then made a U-Turn and started heading back with his sword gripped tightly in his hand. Alex! Turn Back! Nice try, voice...but I'm not!

Shutter saw that suddenly the black liquid had soft glowing neon yellow eyes. "What the...?!"

(Song)

Little black creatures, that appeared to be no more than imp looking shadows, surrounded Shutter and started to close in. "Shutter... Stay calm..." He sighed out and focused on not panicking. "What are these things!?” He yelled out

Alex eventually came back to the area of the waterfall and noticed the scene. "Oh no! He needs my help!" He said to himself as he rushed to the scene. "Back off!" Alex yells as he starts slashing the shadows. Shutter watched as Alex's sword sliced through three of them. Immediately, the creatures looked at the human and their antennas started to go crazy.

Seeing that fighting was the best chance, Shutter swung a hoof and tried to strike at one, only to see that his powerful throw only knocked it back lightly. "Alex what are these!?"

"I'm not sure!" He yelled as he struck down another shadow. He observed them, "...But for some reason, they look familiar to me!" He then gave another hard hit to a shadow, "It’s over!" he yelled. The shadows were now only targeting him. They seemed to notice that the boy was more powerful than they expected. "What's the deal with these things anyway?!" He question as he blocked an incoming attack and quickly countered it, "Gotcha!" He said while countering.

Shutter looked on, feeling almost utterly helpless. His eye fell on Alex’s sword and as if a spark of revelation hit him he widened his brown irises. He widened his stance and started to focus everything into collecting the light around him. In a few seconds he had formed light around his hooves. "Lets see if this helps." Alex kept on attacking the shadows, but to avail, they kept on appearing.

He gave an annoyed sigh and said "C'mon, gimme a break!" He looks back to see Shutter with light around his hooves, "Well, aren't you in top shape." Alex said to Shutter. He charged at few collecting behind Alex. He kicked at two of them and almost immediately they vanished.

"Alright! Alex. I got your back." He got into a fighting stance. Alex smiled and gave him a nod as he went back to the fighting off more shadows.

After many combos, counters and kills, Alex began to grow tired of this never ending wave of enemies. "Shutter! I think we should make a break for it...there just doesn't seem to be an end to this barrage!" He yelled as he blocked another incoming attack. Shutter looked at him as he stomped two in a row. Sweating, he panted from the nonstop battle.

"Okay..." He galloped to Alex and picked him up on his back. "Let's get out of here!" The shadows were now desperate than ever to get their hold on Alex. They all jumped into the air aimed at Shutter. In a quick reaction Shutter, let out a brilliant little flash of light and dashed out just as they crashed into a pile of misty black mess. "Alex...This...needs to be told to Celestia."

Alex felt slightly nervous about meeting another and telling his whereabouts...but what other choice does he have? He was stressed. "...Ok...if you believe that this "Celestia" pony will help us in my time of need, then go ahead." He said. A shadow attempted to grab onto him, he gave a quick slash to shake it off. "And we need to get there fast!"

2 - Meeting the Princess

View Online

Shutter's brown mane whipped and lashed as he sprinted at a speed that made things begin to blur. His breaths became heavy as they galloped out of the woods and back onto the road again. The town of Ponyville came upon them so fast that Shutter nearly smashed into multiple houses as he darted the now empty streets. "I...Hope...She's...Home"

Alex then felt light-headed once again but tried his hardest to stay awake. While in said situation, he saw an image of himself holding his sword high for a second, then snapped back into reality. All of a sudden, he pulled out his sword and raised it up high. "Heal!" He then saw that there were various leaves and flowers flowing around him and Shutter. This made his wounds go away almost instantaneously.

In almost one moment, The blue stallion felt like he was made new. Glancing back while keeping his run, he saw the flowers and leaves. "How did he..." Shaking his head, he saw up ahead there was a large tree that read. "Golden Oaks Library." Shutter said aloud. "That's where we will find the best help around."

Alex was now completely lost. His body was reacting on it's own and now he is suddenly free of any cuts or marks. Was there someone who is controlling him? Whatever the case, he heard Shutter say that this is where they can get help. "So, we're gonna go in a Library for help?" Alex asked, confused at the idea.

(Song)

"This, my friend, is not an ordinary library." He took his hoof and knocked on the door. "This is The home of her royal highness, and somewhat friend, Princess Twilight."

Oh no...not royalty... Alex thought to himself. What will she think of me? "R-Royalty you say? Hmm...this is quite an honor." Alex said in half truth as he scratched the back of his dark windswept spiky hair.

"Just be yourself. Oh, and try to not get her too excited. She can be somewhat of a spaz case if she finds reason to be one." The door creaked open and a small purple claw pulled it open.

"Hello? Oh Shutter... What do you want?" The little dragon crossed his arms and looked up at the pony with a judgemental stare.

"Spike I need to talk to Twi... Princess Twilight. This is about the possibility of a new species invading." Shutter responded.

Spike’s head leaned around and looked at the human behind Shutter. "What him?"

"Oh! No no no. This is Alex. He's a hero of his own world. Please let us in." Alex felt that comment quite amusing. Not once was he actually considered a hero at home...to the best of his knowledge at least. But he was more concerned about the matter at hand.

He started sweating like a maniac, Great, first ponies, now DRAGONS?! He gave a mental sigh It's gonna be one of those days... "Y-Yeah...I mean no harm, I assure you." Alex said while wiping the sweat off of him.

"See... He's like a Fluttershy." Shutter said grinning.

Spike looked at Alex and slightly nodded. "I can see what you mean. Fine... Come in, but know this Shutter. She is not happy with you."

"I'll take my chances..." He said with a sigh.

"Okay..." Spike opened the door and Shutter went in with his ears down.

Alex wasn't sure what kind of history these two had, but he could tell that it wasn't good considering that this so called "Princess" is unhappy with him. Maybe I could ask him about it later. He thought while observing Shutter’s mood, He looks troubled right now, so I shouldn't bother him. Alex then entered the building and looked around. "So many books..." He says to himself as he studied the area around him.

Shutter looked up and saw that the sun was just about to set. "I guess we better hurry before Celestia goes to bed."

Spike looked to Alex. "So where you from?" He asked with genuine curiosity.

Alex felt like a nerve had just popped...he didn't know about how his old life was. Just his name and why he has the Eternal Harmony. "Well...I'm..." He hesitated finding the right words. "...uh...I'm...I'm from..." Gah! You're losing it! Just think of something! "...I...don't remember." You fool! He only looked down at his sword ...Why...why do I have this?

(Song End)

"Uh Shutter Flash..." Spike looked after the blue pony. "Is he okay?"

"No... the poor guy suffers from memory loss." Shutter said sadly at Alex. "Spike, sorry to be rude, but we really do need Twilight."

"Okay... I'll be right back with her." He walked off and stepped down a flight of stairs.

As Spike was out of Alex's sight, he said "Ooooooohhh! That was a COMPLETELY idiotic move I did!" he gave out a sad sigh and lowered his head...but while looking down, he saw something sparking in his pocket. He took it out to see that it was..."A Love Charm?!" he said out loud.

"But, who gave this to me?...Was it someone close to me?...”

(Press L1 for Instant Dark Side Action.)

Alex grew angry at how his memory was failing. He needed to hit something “Argh! Why can't I remember anything!" Alex said as he started to punch the wall, leaving dents into it.

"How's that helping you, Alex?" Shutter interrupted, "One, you shouldn't hit a tree, unless you're Applejack." He walked up to him and put a hoof on his shoulder. "And two... Don't worry about your memory... We'll find someway to get it back. I promise you." Shutter smiled as he looked at Alex in the eye.

Alex began to calm himself, "...You're right...but, now I remember someone very important to me gave this charm to me...I want to meet this someone so I could keep that promise I made...so I could keep that promise I made..." Alex kept repeating that statement while staring at his chain. Shutter was about to say something else when suddenly a purple aura surrounded him and pulled him and Alex to the center of the room.

The light dissipated and a displeased purple alicorn stepped into view. "Shutter... what are you doing here?" He bowed.

"Your majesty. I've come to inform you... about a very serious threat to Ponyville."

Alex only continued to stare into the chain, almost as if he was hypnotised...repeating that phrase over and over again. Then a voice rang into his head that was clearly female, You have my Love Charm and you don't remember my name? Alex felt sorry now for what was going on. He didn't even know that the princess he was so worried to meet was right in front of him. He only sees a silhouette of a girl with long dark hair and deep blue eyes…

"... I told you Twilight... I'm sorry." Shutter lowered his ears towards the floor. "I didn't mean to destroy it... I thought it would... help."

"Just drop it, Shutter." Twilight then looked over to Alex and a small frown formed on her face. "Are you okay?" Alex then looked at her and snapped out of his dream.

"U-Um...Yeah!...just fine!" Alex gave a nervous chuckle. He looked back at his charm for a second and told himself, "Don't worry...I'll remember."

Twilight looked at the charm and her eyes opened up wide. "That charm...I've...seen it once before."

Shutter looked at her and shook his head. "Wait... what?"

Twilight, forgetting the squabble from before, looked at Shutter and nodded. "I've been having that very same charm pop up in my head once or twice,"

"Twilight... Alex has never been here before, how is it that you saw that charm?"

She looked back at Alex and stepped closer. "Alex please... to the best of your abilities please tell me about yourself."

Alex felt uneasy at this sudden event, but continued, "Well...I know for sure that I'm not from here...My full name is Christian Alex Gomez...I'm 16 years of age, from what I can recall, and I was given…” He holds up his sword, “..this by someone...But what really troubles me…” He holds up his charm again, “...is how you know about this...it was given to me by someone I hold dear to me...I even made a promise to her that as long as I hold it, I'll be forever at her side...isn't that right?" He looks up to see the same silhouette of the same girl. He even sees her smile.

Twilight looked at the sword with a collective stare, but then she looked at the charm and felt that she was familiar to it somehow. "Alex... Do you know how you got here?" She asked.

Alex sighed, "No...All I remember is getting this sword and appearing here...Shutter here, found me near a forest and helped me get here."

Twilight looked at Shutter and gave him a small stare. "...He is a good stallion at heart."

Shutter perked up and smiled at her. "Thank you your highness."

"Shutter did you say you encountered the shadow creatures before or after you found Alex?"

"After." He answered.

Twilight tapped her hoof on her chin.

"Those creatures went berserk when I came into the mix, your highness. It must be something to do with this sword." Alex said to Twilight as he examined the sword. "I still wonder why I was chosen to wield this weapon...Or if I'm a hero at all." He said to himself.

Shutter looked at the sword and focused his attention to it. "Alex, may I hold your weapon for a minute?"

Alex looked Shutter confused for a second then looked at the sword hard. "Well...Ok." Alex then walked in front of him.

Shutter could sense the light emanating in the sword as he reached to grab it in his mouth. He brought it back and lightly put it in his hooves to examine.

Twilight looked to Alex and wrapped him inside of her wing. "Alex? Do you have a place to stay?"

Alex seemed uneasy. He didn't want to be a burden to anyone. "Well..." He began, "...No, not really...but I really don't want to be any trouble to you." He politely declined.

"You're no trouble... Right Shutter?" Twilight asked.

His gaze at the blade was unaltered as he was able to pull light out of the blade itself. "No... Not at all."

"You don't mind taking Alex home with you do you?"

At this, Shutter lifted his head and looked at Twilight and then Alex in a prolonged look. "Home...why can't we stay here?"

Twilight nodded to Alex. "He can if he wants to."

Alex now had to choose. He was terrible at decision making. He gave out a stressed sigh while looking down. He closed his eyes an saw an image of what appeared to be a clearing in a forest. Was it the one he was in before? There was something off about it however. Unlike the rest of the forest, this area seemed to be filled with life. The scene was perfect as the stream was flowing, the birds where chirping and the plant life was green. I think I know where this is... Alex thought to himself as he opened his eyes. "Hey...if it's alright, may I stay in that forest I appeared in? I think there is a place there I can stay for the night." He said.

Shutter looked back at the sword and started to form another ribbon of light from it. "That's great idea Alex... go risk your safety in the unprotected elements of the outdoors with no knowledge of your surroundings. May I ask what happens when another wave of those... Nightmarish creatures come for you?" Shutter was almost on edge as he pulled one more ribbon of light. "You need a place to stay." He sternly said with a voice that of a father.

This enraged Alex. It also made him remember something else. He then went up to Shutter and looked him straight in the eyes. "LOOK! Why does everyone say that?! I can take care of myself! Since all these strange things keep happening to me, I don't care what anyone says, I'm going out there and staying out there! Who knows?! Maybe I can regain my memory back there too!" He then looks at his charm."Maybe I can even find you..." He then angrily grabbed his sword and gave a run to the door.

(Song)

Shutter formed a ball out of the light he got from the sword and was about to give chase. "Alex! Alex wait!" Twilight stepped in front of Shutter to stop him.

"Haven't you done enough damage as it is?" She said as she blocked the exit, allowing Alex to escape.

"Wha..." Shutter was at a loss for words as he stepped back and sat down with his ears down to the floor. "Please. I'm only trying to help."

"Do us a favor and don't Shutter... It only seems to make things worse." Twilight flapped her wings open and flew after Alex.

Spike, who had been silent for the entire thing, walked to the door and waited with his claw on the handle. Shutter knew that from his disposition that he was now unwelcome to the library and slowly walked out with his head down. Just as he cleared the door, Spike sighed out, "Sorry my friend," He closed the door as he said it.

Heartbroken, Shutter started his trip back to his parents house. He watched as the Alicorn flew high into the night air. "Alex... I'm Sor-" He was interrupted by a strange sound coming from behind him. His ear twitched and his hair stood up again, a feeling that he didn't have quite enough time to unnerve himself from. "No...Not here! Not now!" He turned his head to see that there was five of the creatures, but now they had taken a new form. "P-ponies?!"

Alex was now running from everything. He had enough of anyone telling him he was weak. It's another thing I remember at least. He thought to himself. He was glad that it night so that he would not be spotted. Why did you do that?! the female voice in Alex's head called out to him. You don't just blow off people like that! Maybe I do!...Maybe I'm not even a hero. Yes you are! To me, you're the greatest of heroes!..After all, I am the one who gave you the charm.

Alex started to slow down at the sight of a forest. He wondered ...Are you here?! He asked the girl. I may or may not be...it is how much you believe in me and how much you remember about me that matters if I'll be here or not. He halted in front of the entrance. Go back and help your friend if you want more answers. She said. No! Wait don't go! He shouted in his head. There was only silence for a minute...only for Alex to perk up at the sound of wings flapping.

"Alex!" Twilight swooped downward towards him and landed a little on the clumsily side. "Whoa! Whoa!" She screamed as she tumbled and rolled at him.

He looked back to see Twilight had just had a not so pleasant landing. Don't worry about her, she'll be fine. The voice from before inside said to him. Huh? Leave her... The voice commanded him.

No! She needs my help! Alex then went over to Twilight with a more calmer tone. "Are you ok, your highness?" Alex asked while offering a hand. Pathetic fool... Who are you?! There was only silence after. Alex decided to drop it. He was more concerned with the princess’s condition.

Twilight smiled even in her pain as she took his offer up. "Thank you Alex. Still haven't gotten used to the landings just yet." She said with a blush of embarrassment. Alex was slightly confused at how she couldn't land properly, but decided he should probably not question it. After all, she is the princess.

"Your majesty, if you don't mind me asking, why did you come back for me? I said that I was fine on my own...Also...where is Shutter?" Alex asked as he looked back to see that Shutter did not follow him like he expected him to.

Twilight looked at him and sighed. "Shutter is a good heart, but he's got a way to complicate things sometimes." Her wings slowly rose up in her thoughts of him. "Like when he decides he would like to step into the middle of a relationship that was perfectly fine!" She then looked at her wings and lightly grunted as she took her hoof to force them down. "I came back for you, because I sense something of great importance in you Alex. The whole mystery of your charm and these creatures, they all can't be a coincidence. As my best friend Pinkie Pie taught me, ‘You're here for a reason and I know we can find that answer together.’ If one thing that Shutter was right about, it's that you are in an unknown area, and without a proper guide you can be hurt badly."

(Song End)

Alex grew angry once again, "Grrrr! Not you too! Look I appreciate the fact that you say I'm of importance, but like I said before, I don't need help!"

(Song)

At that exact moment, black liquid started to surround them. Shadows in the shape of ponies started to form. "Leave me alone!" Alex yelled as he struck down a shadow. He then fell on his behind and lowered his head. He glared at his sword angrily.

"What's going on?!" He then threw his sword away. When it the ground, it started to sparkle and it disappeared. Alex was relieved...only for it to reappear in his hand.

Twilight looked at him and then sighed. "A destiny that you didn't choose for." She spun around and lit her horn brightly as a force field grew out pushing the creatures outward. "Alex is there anyway to talk to them?"

Alex only sighed, "Not that I know of...I'm sorry your majesty...If it weren't for me, you wouldn't be dealing with these things." Alex got back up and lowered his head. Tears could be seen falling down his face to the ground. "I think they want me, and no one but me...These voices keep lingering inside my head...This is just too much for me...heh, some hero I am..."

Twilight then did a blast of energy that sent the dark ponies flying far. "Don't say that, now come on back to..." She stops as she gasps with horror.

Alex was taken back by the sudden gasp. He perked up and looked back at Twilight. "What? What's the matter? Are you alright?" He asks worried.

She pointed to the warm glowing lights and multiple columns of smoke. "Ponyville!"

Alex's eyes grew wide at the sight. He looked back his sword and nodded to himself. Maybe this will help me understand... He then started running toward Ponyville. He looked behind and yelled, "C'mon, hurry your majesty! I'm probably gonna need your help!"

Twilight took off and flew up to him. "There's no time to lose Alex!" Her horn glowed and in an instant they appeared in front of a burning Ponyville with Ponies evacuating in a mass panic. The dark creatures were everywhere chasing down some ponies that were attempting to escape. In the middle of the town square was a pink pony with a cannon, who was blasting the attackers with a strong explosion of party streamers. She then started to fend them off with a pair of cymbals. "Pinkie Pie! We got to help her!"

(Song)

Alex only looked in horror at what these creatures can do. He was angry. He gripped his sword tightly and told Twilight, "Don't worry, if she's your friend, then I'll help you." He then rushed to the scene. "HOLD ON!!!" He yelled as he made his way. Pinkie wasn't alone as up in the sky, a cyan rocket was attacking airborne enemies with thunder clouds.

"Pinkie! Do something with more kick!" A voice called out.

"I'm trying Dashie!" She yelled back. "Hold on one sec, please mr. dark pony sir." She bounced back as they started to overwhelm her. "Uh oh..."

Alex noticed the pink pony in a tight situation. He ran faster than before and in a matter of seconds, "Gotcha!" he tore through their ranks with his sword still shining bright. He noticed that the shadows were appearing in larger ranks. He gave a smirk and then, "C’mon!" He threw his sword, sending it spinning toward a horde of shadows. They had no chance. His sword came back and he grabbed it. "Is that all you creatures got?!" He taunted.

Pinkie Pie leapt up and hugged him tightly. "Oh Thankyouthankyouthankyou! You're great! Remind me to bake you a cake for saving me!" She squeezed him again.

"Pinkie not now!" Twilight yelled as she joined them. "I'm going to assist Rainbow Dash with air support. You two, find Rarity and save any pony that needs to be saved." She took off skyward.

"Got it!" PInkie said as she started to gallop toward one side of the town. "Come on this way, follow me Mr. human!"

Alex wasn't really sure if she was really that hyperactive all the time, but decided to worry about that later. "Uh...sure! I'll follow close!" He said while beginning to run. He wasn't too sure about what exactly was going on, but if someone needs to be saved, he'll go for it. "Hey! Wait up!" He yelled as he tried to catch up. Shutter...Hang on.....and thank you for telling me of this danger...my old friend. The female voice then replied in his head, Not a problem. Just remember to watch yourself out there. I will, don’t worry.

Pinkie galloped on as she would periodically look back to smile at Alex. "I know the town's in danger, but it's good to met another good human like my nephew!"

"Epp! Help me!" Pinkie stopped and looked over to see that a gray pegasus with a blonde mane was being pulled down to the ground by the dark ponies.

Alex was surprised to hear that this pony was the nephew of this Toby kid, but noticed that this pegasus was in trouble. "OH NO YOU DON'T!" Then Alex jumped and "BACK OFF SHADOW SCUM!" slammed his sword into the ground and surrounded the area in light. Man...I'm remembering things about combat, that's for sure.

The pegasus quickly flew up and smiled brightly with her two crossed eyes. "Thank you so much!" She then turned around and fled.

Pinkie threw a few pies at the ponies around Alex and yelled "Take that you rotten meanies you!"

Alex noticed that the pony shadows were immobilized by the pie and it gave him an advantage. "Eat up!" He yelled as a hard slash to each of them. They were defeated. He turned to his helper, "Thanks for the assist...but we need to keep moving!"

"Right... um Who are you?" She said bouncing to him.

Alex totally forgot to introduce himself. "Oh, I’m sorry! I never really did tell you my name. It's Alex. Pleased to meet you."

"Pinkie Pie at your side!" She stopped bouncing to start to gallop again. "Come on Alex! We're almost there!"

Alex couldn't help but smile at how positive her spirit was. "Good, the sooner we're out of this warzone, the better." He said as he kept up with Pinkie. During their run, Alex had a visitor in his head. You are a fool to be helping these worthless beings. You should have kept running when you had the chance. Ugh...you again. He returned in his head, Leave me alone! Not until you accept the darkness... Never! Have it your way then...just know that your actions will have consequences... The voice was now gone for now. "I'm gonna have to find who these people talking in my mind are…” He pulls out his chain while still running” ...Don't worry, I haven't forgotten you. I'll see you soon, friend."

"Who are you talking to silly?" Pinkie asks as Alex speaks to his chain. He was then snapped back into reality.

"Oh! Uh...No one!" He gave a nervous chuckle as he quickly put his chain away.

"Okie dokey lokie!" They turned the corner and there was a giant fabric with a pearl white unicorn fixing her bouncing mane as the dark ponies were getting caught up in it.

"Oh hello Pinkie Pie, darling. Please forgive my unlady like behavior as I teach these ruffians not to ruin a lady’s dress." She pulled the fabric together and caught at least a dozen of them as she began to smash it on the ground. "How dare you! That dress took me a month to make! One whole month!" She swung it up in the air and the creatures managed to break free. "Ahhh! Help me!"

Alex noticed this, "Don't worry ma'am! I got this!" He jumped up, but before he could do some action, he heard the girl speak up. Let me help you! -D-Link activate: ???- His sword glowed for a second and he felt his body speak to him with new abilities. "Wind!" He thrusts his sword high, creating a small windstorm around him which blew away some shadows. "Barrier Surge!" he was surrounded by white energy and charged at the remaining shadows thus eliminating them. He then landed with his sword giving off the same glow, then disappearing. Thanks for the moves. Anytime. -D-Link Revert: Alex-

(Song End)

Both ponies were left speechless as they looked after him landing. Suddenly, without much warning, the town started to rain in a downpour for the fires.

"Oh no! Now my beautiful mane is wet!"

"Calm down Rarity at least all the baddies are gone thanks to Alex!" Pinkie said with squee.

"Yes... He is quite the brave one." She said with smile.

Alex looked back at the two ponies with a smile. He scratched the back of his now soaked head and said, "Heh heh...It's quite alright. I'm sure I wasn't THAT great...as long as you're all ok, then that's all that matters." He said. Alex then remembered and turned to the white unicorn, "Oh! My name is Alex. Pleased to meet you ma'am."

Rarity looked at him and smiled as she took an umbrella out to cover herself "I say Alex darling, you know how to impress a lady. I am Rarity, its quite the privilege to meet another human that's kind like my nephew."

Wow...how many aunts does this kid have now? Alex asked mentally. "So, about this nephew of yours...what is he like? I never got the chance to ask before, given the circumstances. From what I hear, he's the only human here other than myself." Alex gasped "Wait a minute! If these creatures are roaming about, they could be after him too! I need to go see if he's ok!" Alex was about to start running when he suddenly remembered, "Oh..." He looked at the mares and gave a chuckle. "...can you show me the way?" He asked.

Rarity nodded. "Little Toby and you are as of now the only two in Equestria, or at least that I'm aware of."

Pinkie started to jump up and down in excitement. "Ohh... Maybe we could have them meet!

Alex then responded. "I see...so that confirms that my kind isn't from here for sure..." He then pulls out his chain again. "Who knows...maybe you’ll be the third one here if you decide to show up..." He tells the chain. If you can meet this other boy and ensure the safety for this town, then you can come see me. But you need to come alone, I'm not ready to reveal myself to this world yet. Understand? "Yeah! I promise!" He says out loud.

The ponies look at each other and back to him. Pinkie jumps to give him a hug. "I talk to myself too!"

Twilight swooped down and touched down in a rather ungraceful manner. "Darn wings!...It's okay Twilight, you can get used to them...You've got them for the rest of your life right?" She mumbled to herself before looking at the small group. "Oh thank goodness you all are okay. Has anypony seen Applejack or Fluttershy?"

"No darling. We were just about to go take Alex to check on dear little Toby." Rarity turned to Alex. "He's in for a treat to know that he's not the only human now."

"Good Idea. I'll go check on Applejack at Sweet Apple Acres." Twilight looked at Alex and smiled.

Alex had only just met these ponies and they're more welcoming than expected. He smiled back at Twilight. "Glad to see that you're doing fine, your majesty. If there is anymore help you need after I'm done meeting this other human, don't hesitate to ask." He said.

Twilight nodded. "Alex, you're a great help and will be rewarded for your acts of bravery. See you girls at Fluttershy's Cottage." She took off into the air slicing through the rain with her wings.

Alex then turned to Rarity and Pinkie, "Are you two ready? I'm pretty excited to finally see another human." He asks eagerly.

Rarity and Pinkie looked at Alex. "Come on Alex, you'll enjoy the walk. Even at this late of an evening, the moon of our Princess Luna will brighten our path." Rarity said as she began to gracefully trot towards the edge of town.

(Song)

"Yeah! I can't wait for you to meet little wittle Toby. You two will have so much to talk about, and just wait when I throw the first party with now not just one, but two humans! We can call it the Double Human in Ponyville Party! Doesn't that sound great?! I'll have to start planning right away to make sure that everypony can be there!" Pinkie said as she bounced along side him.

Alex justed laughed at how cool Pinkie's idea sounded. "This sure is something you don't see everyday that's for sure." Alex said as he walked. You're doing a great job Alex! The female voice popped in. Thanks...I'm just doing what's right. He responded.

Pfft, Whatever you think is right, you’re wrong. Alex stopped walking at the sound of the other male voice voice. What? How are you still here? I defeated you! Hmpth...guess again, Nora. No matter how many times I fall, the darkness in his heart will keep calling me back. ...So that's your name...Nora. You won't get away with this! Alex, as soon as you’re done doing whatever it is you're doing, you have to meet me in the forest! It’s the only place where we can’t draw any attention! "Wait! No, Nora! Who is this guy talking in my head?!" He yelled out loud.

Rarity turned around. "Aww... sweetie. Is Nora your mommy?"

Alex was taken back. He loved Nora too much...He got on his knees and started to speak, "Well...I remember Nora now...She is, you could say, the last thing I have from my home.” He then took out his chain. "She gave this to me the day I lost my memories...I still don't know when that was though...anyways, it's way for us to stay bonded forever...as long as I hold this, we won't ever part ways." He then remembered her request and got up quickly and started running straight past the two mares. "I have to find this kid!.....And possibly rescue him!” He looked at the chain one more time before putting it away, “Don't worry Nora, I'm coming..."

Pinkie and Rarity caught up to him with little effort. "Don't worry sweetie...We'll help you find her and your memories." Rarity said with a very sweet voice. "Follow us.” They galloped ahead and lead the way to Fluttershy's cottage.

"Come on Alex, this way!"

(Song End)

RAWRRRRRRR!

The two mares stopped in their tracks. "W-What was that?"

Alex was gonna continue running, but noticed that the two mares were shocked by the sound of the beast. "I'm not sure what it was, but it's getting in the way of me and Nora! So unless you two have anything to say,” He gripped his sword tightly as it shined bright “I'm going in! FOR NORA!" He then ran off.

As Alex ran to the clearing of the Fluttershy's Cottage there was a huge gaping hole on the side of the house and items were thrown everywhere. He looked at what was left of the wreckage.

"Dang...they really tore this place to shreds...Hmm?" He noticed a bottle glowing green with a star inside. He picked it up. "...This looks useful." He placed it in his disposal. At that moment, he heard a large BOOM behind him. He looked back to see a pair of large legs. Alex was ready for it. "Out of my way!" Alex yelled.

(Song)

The massive dragon shadow started to build up a breathing attack exposing it's core. Alex noticed a large area in it's chest shining.

"Well, there is my target." He said as he jumped high and started bashing the creature rapidly. "Thunder Surge!" He cloaked himself in electricity and rushed at the core. He noticed that this beast wouldn't go down so easily. The beast cringed and backs up in pain. "RAWRRRRR!" It spurts out a dark flame and focuses on the human. With a sweeping swipe it claws at Alex alternating its swings with each arm. Alex did his best to avoid these attacks. Whether it was jumping or dodge rolling, he did best. But shadows soon started to spawn around him.

"Argh, Not now..." One of which managed to grab onto his back. "Gah!" He fell face-down with the shadows still on him.

"NO! You big meanie, let me go!" Pinkie’s voice cried out.

Oh no...are the others in danger? Alex thought while he down.

"Oh you stop this at once you beast!" Blasts of magic could be heard as the pearl pony attempted to save both Alex and Pinkie. "Somepony! Help!"

Just as Rarity stopped screaming, a bright light appeared in Alex's vision. It seemed to float around and it took on the form of a sword. Without any words exchanged the sword flew at the shadows on Alex's back eliminating them in the process. The next thing in Alex's vision was a blue hoof reaching down to pick him up.

"Don't you sleep on me now." The voice of Shutter spoke to him. Alex was now just speechless at what had just unfolded. He was saved.

"Shutter...I'm so sorry." He said as he got back up. "I shouldn't have just left you like that..." He lowered his head.

Shutter quickly nuzzled him, "I'm just happy your safe. Now quickly we need to save... Watch out!" Shutter pushed Alex down as a claw missed him and came in contact with the stallion. Shutter flew back and rolled to a stop, coughing. "Wow... he packs quite the punch..." He stood up weakly and readied himself. "Come on Alex! Lets take this guy down!" Shutter summoned the glowing sword back and charged at the beast with Pinkie screaming in his claw.

Alex gave him a nod, "Heal!" he yelled as leaves and flowers surrounded him which cured the wounds that he had. "Blitz!" Then went on ahead and performed various jumping and mid-air combos at the dragon. He felt a surge of energy course through him at his final leap. He gave off a bright blue aura that seemed to filled with magic. (Command Style - Spellweaver)

Shutter looked at Alex and studied his attacks as he galloped to the dragon's legs. Once he was in position he leapt up and ran up the dragons arm slashing at it to try to release Pinkie. The dragon was now furious and took in another deep breath. "Alex! You and me together, attack it's core!"

Alex looked at him and gave him a thumbs up "Whenever you're ready" He said as his body was now surrounded in purple and cyan sparkles. "I'm charged!" Alex said, "On your go and I will end this, Shutter!"

Shutter nodded as he pulled back and with his focused light built up around him. "Now!" Shoots a constant stream of blinding light at the exposed core making it swell up. The dragon yelled out in pain.

Alex charged forward, "You're Done! MAGIC WISH!" He then started to spin around and orbs started to circulate around him along with his sword, almost looking like a tornado. The dragon took various hits from this barrage. The unforgiving combo of them both made the dragon burst apart and fall down with a loud crash. Shutter panted and smiled weakly at Alex.

(Song Fades Out)

"We did it!" He wobbled to and fro before falling down exhausted.

Alex gave a sigh of relief that it was over. He noticed that Shutter had taken a lot. He then remembered something. "There!" He said as he threw the green bottle in the air, causing it's contents to splash on Shutter. "That should work." Almost as fast as he fell down he hopped back up again.

"Wow! What was that!? I feel like I can take on another one of those things." Shutter said as he got back up.

"Alex!" Twilight yelled as her, Applejack and Rainbow Dash galloped into view. "Alex, are you okay..." All three of them gasped at the sight of the house. "What happened?! Where's Fluttershy and Toby!? Shutter Flash!" The first two out of Twilight's mouth were out of concern, however the last was full of conviction. Shutter took a step back and looked at her with a flummoxed face.

(Press R1 for Instant Light Side moment.)

Alex had enough of this game. He knew that these two didn’t get along with each other, but blaming him for the destruction seemed too much. He decided to step in, "Are you serious, your highness? I know that you have a history with Shutter, but I'm gonna tell you something. That doesn't give you the right to cast blame on him! If it weren't for him actually, I would have died out there!" Alex smiled at Shutter. "As for the others, I'm sure they are fine...But I still want to meet this kid..." He took a quick glance at his pocket and saw a sparkle "...for Nora..." he said.

Twilight, along with the others, looked at Alex with surprised eyes. They didn't expect him to stand up to someone like the princess. Twilight then looked at Shutter. "I thank you Shutter...You have my gratitude for saving my friends."

"Um... Help!?" Pinkie cried as the dragon’s carcass still held her.

"I'll help you down darling." Rarity said as she started to pull on Pinkie with her magic.

Shutter nodded and turned to Alex. "We need to find Toby and Fluttershy. They should be in the forest somewhere."

Alex gave a nod, "It shouldn't be that bad...After all, I still have this with me." He holds up his sword. "I guess it really did pick me for a reason..." Alex wasn't one good with conversations as he was short-tempered, and indecisive, but he definitely made up for it in combat. He looked back at everyone, "So, is everyone here ready?" Rarity pulled with one final tug and Pinkie pie came flying out.

"Ready!" Pinkie said with a ear to ear smile.

"Wait a minute... I reckon I've seen you before." Applejack said

Alex then put his hand on his chin and thought for a minute. Hmm.....*gasp* Oh! "Uhh...Nope! Must have been someone else because I know for sure I don't remember." He gives a nervous chuckle.

"I don't forget a face that easy. Name’s Applejack. It's mighty fine to meet ya" She extended a hoof out to him. Alex was a little surprised at how this unfolded, but decided to play along.

He gave a smile, took the hoof, and greeted back, "My name is Alex. Nice to meet you. Also sorry about earlier...I didn't know how to make a proper introduction with new people." A cyan face popped in front of him.

"You do it like this!" The rainbow mane mare flew up a little and struck a pose, "I'm the amazing..." Strikes another pose. "The incredible..." One last one with her arms flexing to show off her athletic figure. "The awesome Rainbow Dash!" She flew down and landed in front of him. "You do that, and you'll make every introduction of yourself twenty percent cooler." She smiled and lightly patted his back.

Alex mentally sighed, Oh great...A show off. Just what I needed. He thought. Instead, he just gave a smile, "Right...I'll be sure to keep that in mind, Rainbow." Alex said. Not Really. Didn’t really care about what she said being amazing. I only needed her name. He quickly said in his head. He then held his sword up high. He then said to himself. "Man...to think that I'm THIS important to the world is kinda stressful...yet fun...The Eternal Harmony's chosen wielder...me." He then noticed how stupid he looked and just laughed for a bit then died down.

"Alex we need to look for Fluttershy and Toby. It might be best if we split up to look for them." Twilight said as they stood around him.

He nodded, "You're right...but how is this gonna work with all...1,2...7 of us? Who's with who?" Alex asked as the group now started to converse about their options. Alex had an Idea, “I may be able to lead a small team with me in the forest." He suggested. "I'll be alright with picking two out of the six of you to come with me." ...But, who should I pick? He thought.
