> Thirty Minutes > by Stasiarose > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Thirty Minutes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's hard to believe I've been Princess Twilight for only two months. It's hard to believe that I'll only be princess for thirty more minutes, before the world ends. It's hard to believe that Princess Celestia is trusting me with the palace until the world ends. It's hard to believe that forever more my friends and I will exist no longer. What will they do in the next thirty minutes? What will I do? 11:55 AM THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS The six mares, plus one dragon, gathered in the center of the throne room in a circle. Each on smiled to the next as an eerie silence entered the room. Each burst out crying hugging one another as what was about to happen hitting them hard. Nopony really knew what to say to one another, each to caught up in crying to think. The world was going to end quickly and swiftly, by radiation from the sun. Celestia had left to see if she could do something about it, but everypony knew there was really no chance of survival. As the mares and dragon calmed down, each continued to simply stare at one another, waiting for somepony to speak up. Surprisingly one did. It wasn't that somepony did that was surprising, it was who spoke up that was. "U-um... I've got something to say..." The shy butterball mare looking contently around the circle. Everypony nodded for her to continue. Time was starting to waste so nopony dared to interrupt. "I've always been a shy mare, I know that... But I've also been shy of my feelings too... I'm... I'M IN LOVE WITH TWILIGHT!" She screamed, getting blank faces in return. "Ever since the day she scared my birds away and asked for my name, I loved her." She looked up at Twilight to see her expression. Twilight simply cocked her head and smiled. She stood up, went over to the butter pegasus, and put a hoof around her neck, and she pecked her cheek. The yellow mare turned into a light shade of orange as she blushed, making everypony around her coo. Rainbow Dash flew up out of her sitting place, and looked at the faces around her too. It was her turn to confess, and everypony nodded, Twilight putting a wing over Fluttershy. "I've got a confession to make too... I'm not a brave and strong mare on the inside, I'm a frilly little filly who loves to take care of others, and thinks more of others than herself. Hard to believe, I know. I mean, still sleep with my teddy bear, Miscy Fluffles. My dad gave it to me for my fifth birthday. He told me there was something magical about the bear. He said when you cry, he absorbs the tears. Later that day, I crashed while flying, and nearly broke my leg, and Miscy was there and he wiped my tears away." The cyan pegasi's eyes began to water as she fluttered down, whipping out a small, tattered bear. Everypony simply nodded at her, nopony was in any place to judge at this point. 12:03 PM TWENTY TWO MINUTES BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS Silence filled the room once more as the ponies, plus a dragon, waited for another to speak up. A white hoof raised in the air as the next pony began to speak. "I suppose it's my turn." Rarity said, looking around the circle of ponies. "I... Am not as posh as I appear to be..." She raised a hoof to her mane, tugging gently, her luscious curls all but real. What was revealed under these extensions was a tied back mane, when undone, was quite the sight. Bangs in her eyes, he short straight do was revealed, as the same was done to her tail. She then took her make up off, revealing a much more beautiful mare. Spike stared in awe as she began to walk towards him. "And I'm also in love with my little Spike." She said, dropping her posh accent. "And I know he loves me too." She kissed him on the mouth, a kiss that lasted for more than five seconds, filled with passion and love that had been held inside for too long. As she pulled away from the blushing Spike, a small string of saliva followed. The group didn't make a sound, but simply smiled at the new, soon to be dead couple. At least they would die together. The silence returned, but not for very long. "Ah've got somethin' that's been weighin' me down for awhile." Came a country accent under a brown hat. "Ah know ah'm the element of honesty, but ah haven't been completely honest with y'all." Everypony around the circle nodded, beckoning her on. "Ya see, ah wasn't born intah a very rich family. In fact we could barely afford the seeds we'd sown each year. That was, until ya'll came along and became friends with me. Coarse we were still very poor, but ah never had the courage to tell any of you cause, well, ah'm supposed tah be strong. And ah am. Except for the thing we needed the most..." The orange mare looked around the circle at each face, before taking off her hat and continuing,"Ah've got a tumor that would've killed me this year even without the world ending." She looked at all the shocked faces around her with a frown on her face."Ah'm real sorry ah never said nothin' but I guess it doesn't really matter now." She plopped her hat back on her head as the silence returned once again. 12:11 PM FOURTEEN MINUTES BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS Next surprisingly was the pink party pony Pinkie. She was more serious then she had ever been around the ponies, and dragon. "I have something I've been doing that isn't very funny. It's a addiction, as much as it is a coping skill. A skill I've learned that makes me feel better and worse. Every morning of everyday I'd sigh when I got out of bed, I didn't want to do anything. I didn't even want to live anymore. I started cutting myself, started thinking it was the only way to get better, started thinking it was the only thing I could do." The pink earth pony paused, getting onto her hindlegs, showing her stomach. There was slashes among slashes, things that nopony had ever seen before, but as she pointed them out, was shocked to not have noticed something so obvious. "You see, this was before I moved out of the rock farm, before I saw Rainbow's Sonic Rain-Boom. And it stuck. Even when I moved to Ponyville, it was an addiction. I was happy, and didn't want to die anymore, but it was to hard to stop. Funny thing is, yesterday was the day I decided to quit, cold celery. Guess it doesn't really matter anymore. But I'm proud of myself for trying." She looked at the faces of understanding that stood around the circle. Pinkie was so grateful to have such great friends. It was Twilight's turn to speak, as she got up immediately and sat in the middle of the circle. "I have no confessions, though I'm not perfect. I've been completely honest with all of you. And I just needed to thank you all for what you've done for me, what you've done for yourselves. I know I'm a skeptical pony who takes to long to create trust, but I'm glad I trusted all of you. Glad I was forced to meet you. I know we're all good friends, but you don't deserve to die together." Twilight looked at all the shocked faces around her. "You deserve to die with your loved ones." With a flash of magenta from her horn, Twilight poofed up everyponies family as their eyes grew wide. Each pony ran to each others family, sitting together as the world was soon to end. 12:20 PM FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS Each pony sat with their family, each talking about the good happy times, about birthdays and Hearths Warming Eve's. Only the older mares and colts knowing that they only have five minutes before the world would break. Nopony could tell the small Crusaders that in five minutes they'd die without their cutie marks. Twilight shushed everypony at the five minute mark, beckoning them to sit in front of her. With a flash of her horn, a screen appeared, and she began to tell a story. "Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria..." It's hard to believe I've only been Princess Twilight for two months. It's hard to believe that I'll only be princess for thirty more minutes, before the world ends. It's hard to believe that Princess Celestia is trusting me with the palace until the world ends. It's hard to believe that forever more my friends and I will exist no longer. It's hard to believe...
