> Celestial Chaos > by Audina Puzzle > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Within the grand scheme of the cosmos lies the realm of Equestria, a magical land of adventure and heroism where friendship and harmony rule. It was remained this way for ages as the immoral rulers, the royal princesses have safeguarded the denizens of the land from dark forces. However one of the rulers, a being of light and guidance will face a new foe that will test her resolve… Celestia, one of the royal princesses and ruler of Equestria was finally falling asleep after a long day of attending royal affairs, filling out paperwork, and managing to keep her land in peace. She had finally ended her day by lowing the sun belong the horizon. Celestia then lay upon her white linen bed sheets and drifted off to sleep.         Celestia’s dreamscape was not as complicated as someponies believed it would be. It was of her old home in the Everfree Forest Castle where she had lived happily with her sister Luna ages ago. In her dreams she would relive her life as a filly, playing with her sister in the castle’s beautiful garden while there parents watched from afar on an old stone bench.         It was a lovely idea, part dream part memory and Celestia enjoyed it.         Until a noise awoke her from her paradise….         Celestia moved from her bed, starched her neck out and looked around to see nothing. She was about to go back to bed when she heard it again, however the noise was a bit louder and coming out from the hallway. Celestia left her room and begun to follow this mysterious noise.         With every step on the hallway's granite tiles she took the noise grew louder until Celestia could now make it out, somepony was signing, a young stallion’s voice was behind the unfamiliar song. She followed it for a few minutes until she arrived at the Ruby red throne room door. Celestia carefully opened the door to find it dark and empty, but as she stepped inside the candles ignited and illumined the room relived the source of the song.         It was to Celestia’s surprise an alicorn setting on the throne. This alicorn was hard for her to describe, but she could feel an aura of malice coming from this pony. His features were tough to describe as his coat, along with his mane and tail were jet black, his wings were almost like silk fabric covered in black ash, his jagged horn was crimson with black vein wrapping around it, and his eyes were red like demon fire. He wore armor unlike any Celestia has ever seen, as it was light purple and almost dragon scale like, and it had misshapen horns sticking out like they grew from the armor. However what unenvied her the most was in the center of his armor was an eye, not an ornament but a living entity that looked as if it grown on this armor and has looking in every direction erratically. This alicorn continued to sing without even noticing Celestia in the room. As the princess walked closer to this stranger she could now understand what he was singing… “The whispers, the whispers in our minds. They guide the lost and the forsaken, they love the poor and sick, they treat us all equally.” “The tendrils, the tendrils hold our souls, they decimate the wicked, they bring together the good and bad, they bind our hearts together.” “The eyes, the eyes see into our heart, they watch over all the young and old, they see the beyond and the hidden, they see our desires.”         “Come all ye fateful, come little children, our mother calls to us. She lies beyond the great gate, she wishes to keep us and never let go, once she is free the world will change, and we will never be alone.” This song continued until celestia was close to the throne.         “Greetings ruler of Equestria…” the alicorn bowed his head. "Who are you, and what do you want from me?" The princess said, surprised. "Oh, pardon me, where are my manners? My name is Drakath, and I am the embodiment of chaos and champion of corruption."  "But... That's impossible! Discord is the embodiment of chaos, and I’ve never heard of you!" Celestia stammered. "That's because I’ve been hidden among the shadows of the night, beyond the veil of time and space. Honestly, did you really think that fool was the embodiment of chaos? Please." Drakath scoffed "What does it matter? Why are you in my castle in the dead of night?!?" "Simple. I want to offer you ultimate freedom and power. All you need to do is to obey me and submit to the corruption." "What would I need freedom from?! And how would I be free by submitting you and this ‘corruption’ you speak of?!” “You see my dear princess the corruption grants me certain abilities, one of which allows me to see into the deepest part of another beings soul. When I look into your soul I see regret, passion, and a desire to not be bound to responsibilities you never asked for.” “You speak of lies! You cannot tempt me!” Drakath chuckled. "You don't seem to get it, do you? I know how you truly feel about your subjects and your precious sister, and I offer you the key to your shackle, to never again submit to anyone, except for the corruption. Now then, accept my power!" "I would rather be dead then have my land and its ponies ruled with dark magic!  Now leave before I am forced to remove you!” "Do you honestly expect to command me?! You creatures are truly pathetic!" "Very well, you've brought this upon yourself!" Enraged,Celestia gathered her magic into her alicorn horn and shot a ray of pure light at Drakath. Unfortunately for her, Drakath’s powers were not to be taken lightly, as in a flash he disappeared…Celestia frantically looked for the fiend, but didn’t see his attack coming.                 In a flash, Drakath appeared a few mere feet in front of Celestia, and blasted her with his dark magic from his horn, launching the princess out of the throne room and into the hallway. Celestia regained her ground and quickly cast a healing spell, repairing her scratches as Drakath slowly trotted to her. Celestia blasted Drakath with another ray of light at this time managed to hit him, sending Drakath flying into the air.               Drakath rebounded in the air with his dark fabric like wings, then focused his magic to his jagged horn and shot a purple magical pulse wave, sending Celestia barreling though a stone wall into the outside garden. The princess was badly hurt as her head was spinning, but she found the strength to get off the broken ground… Until Drakath appeared out of nowhere in front of her again, striking her down on the ground with his large deformed hoof.                 “You are but a pathetic worm, but if you become chaotic you will have all the power you could ever want!” Drakath circled the fallen princess like a shark circling its prey for the final blow. “You will be the chaos lord of Equestria, the type of creature that can rule this world properly. But, all things have a price. You will turn on your friends, make your loved ones suffer, and destroy all you have worked so hard to build.” He stopped in front of the princess as she finally arose from the ground covered in blood and dirt.          “You can try to fight the corruption, but in the end...the corruption always wins.”   Drakath rammed his twisted alicorn horn into Celestia’s fine neck, slowly filling her with corruption as purple veins appeared all over her body. The princess screamed in agonizing pain as she glowed bright purple, tendrils and crude horns ripping out of her body. She fell to the ground and her vision faded…                 Celestia awoke in a fright, covered in sweat and breathing heavily…It was all a dream. She tried to process in her mind what happened but her head felt like she was hit by a wagon. Celestia levitated a glass of clear water from her nightstand to help calm her nerves and parch her draw throat. Suddenly a guard clad in gold armor knocked on her door… “Princess Celestia, are you okay? I thought I heard a noise.” “Yes, all is well. Please return to you duties.” Celestia arose from her bed, gathered her composure and prepared for the day ahead.                 Celestia walked over to the mirror, putting her crown and jewelry on however she noticed by her neck was…a scar. She looked in the mirror and it was the same spot in her dream where that strange alicorn stabbed her with his twisted horn. It unnerved her but she covered the scar with her neck adornment.                 “It was just a dream…It was just...A dream,” Celestia said to herself in the mirror. Like the darkest shadow of the void, Drakath lurked as a phantom in the castle, to not arouse suspicion to the denizens of this realm. He personally hated Equestria, as it was too pure and wholesome for his tastes. However, Celestia’s corruption would be a well needed change to make this realm more chaotic, even though this world won't be around in the future. > Chapter 2 > --------------------------------------------------------------------------           Celestia’s day was as busy and hectic as usual. Dealing with land disputes, solving economic problems, and trying to keep the ponies of Equestria safe. Her sister Luna since her return for exile has helped greatly with many tasks that Celestia had no time for. It was hard work keeping a great nation running while also keeping peace with other lands, but the royal princesses have done this for ages.         Celestia managed to finish her work a bit early today and decided to go for a small walk in the garden. The guards were told to stay at a distance but keep watch as to give the princess her space.         The princess enjoyed the garden in the canterlot castle, when she first had the castle built one thing she had remade from the old everfree castle was the garden area. It relaxed her, setting on a hand craved granite stone bench next to her favorite everfree roses, lilies, and banana trees with little animals frolicking around her hooves.         “This is such a wonderful day.” She stretched her pure white wings and took in the suns warm rays.          Celestia started to hum a little tune as the little animals gathered around. She felt so relaxed she didn’t even noticed Luna moving to her until she was setting on the stone bench too.         “You are enjoying your break I see.” Luna smiled at the look of joy on her sister’s face. "Yes my dear sister, such is a beautiful day when all is at peace with this world." "Yeah I guess.  Hey Tia, you have something on your neck." "Its nothing…just a little scratch."   "Ok...You know Tia, ruling Equestria and dealing with all this management is quite boring...don’t you think?"           “Sometimes the work can be tiresome, however if it means that our little ponies are happy and safe then I don’t mind the dull duties we have.”           “You're right…”Luna looked into the big blue sky with a peaceful look on her face.   Celestia began singing which caught Luna’s attention.   “Come all ye fateful, come little children, our mother calls to us. She lies beyond the great gate, she wishes to keep us and never let go, once she is free the world will change, and we will never be alone.”   "That's not bad sis, but where did you learn the song its quite weird."   "It’s the lullaby, the one our mother sang to us when we went to sleep."   "No...The Lullaby she taught us never mentioned this ‘great gate’."   "Umm...luna what are you talking about?"   "The song you just sung."   “Wasn’t it ‘Hush, hush, time to be sleeping’ lullaby?   “No...What you sung went like ‘Come all ye fateful, come little children, our mother calls to us. She lies beyond the great gate.’ and some other strange lyrics.   "I don't know?  I must have burst out into that song on a flip of a hat." however Celestia quickly remembered where she heard this lullaby from as her face changed into a more cornered expression.   "Sister are you alright you seem troubled?"   "Oh it’s nothing Luna, just go rest and leave me to my work...I have to do some preparing for tomorrow’s duties."   "o..ok tia, I guess I will take a quick nap in my room."  Luna leaves the garden wondering what that was all about.            After Luna was finally out of view Celestia calmly left the garden and quickly trotted into a hallway leading to the "Star Swirl the Bearded" wing of the castle. Before she entered the room, the princess told two guards to stand outside and make sure no one gets in until she leaves, to which the guards took their positions next to the door.          The "Star Swirl the Bearded" wing is the library and archives of the great wizard unicorn. Celestia started to search through the vast amount of old books and scrolls hoping that she could find information on what her dream was and this ‘corruption’ the being in the dream mentioned. After looking over countless notes, she found something…a worn out book she never in all her years noticed in the corner of the library under the stack of scrolls.          The book was Star Swirl the Bearded journal involving his experiments on the magic mirror, the one that leads to another world. The book mentions a realm of beings unknown to Equestria, similar to what twilight once told Celestia about when she journeyed into the mirror. However the book continued with star swirl's idea that the mirror could be used to go to different worlds and realities. Parts of the book were old and rotting but one section caught Celestia’s attention as she began to read out loud.                 “Star swirl’s entry sixty-six…I have found that using a combination of different elemental magic spells I have indeed found away to a different world, unlike the other world were I transformed into the dominate denizen I have remained my old unicorn self. However the world I found may be more dangerous than I realize…                 I have been here for a few days and seen strange creatures, monsters, and peaceful beings. However one creature knew I was not of this world…This ‘human’ named Warlic, a powerful wizard found me trapped by a fallen tree, he aided me but to my surprise he told me to leave this realm. I asked him how he knew; Warlic told me I had a pure magical force coming from me, like all denizens of Equestria do. Warlic quickly opened a magical portal back to Equestria and told me to go in but I refused.                 Warlic levitated me in the air, and told me that the eye of chaos is always watching, he wanted to spare my realm the doom of chaos corruption that his realm may face. Before I could say anything he throw me into the portal where I found myself back in my study…since my return I can’t make the mirror go back to that realm…my guess is that Warlic ‘locked’ his world and Equestria away from each other. Only something truly powerful could reopen it. “            Celestia closed the book with a concerned expression. She still had no clue about the dream but she was certain it was much more then a dream now.            “Chaos Corruption, what is it? I must find out.” she asked herself in a hushed tone.           Suddenly the scar on Celestia glows bright purple causing her to fall on the floor in agonizing pain as she pawed at the scar frantically. The guard outside hear a thud and found the princess on the ground in agony, they quickly took her from the library to the medical wing of the castle.                          Drakath traveled from the castle to the outside area of the Everfree Forest. Drakath traveled for some time in the lush forest until he found a massive cave with an interesting creature inside. An Ursa Major, a titanic bear made of glowing blue starlight sleeping away. Drakath focused his alicorn horn’s magic and fired at the mythic bear which awaken in mind numbing pain as it grew a few crude horns and tendrils bursting out of its fur.           “I hope Celestia like this little push..hahaha!”          Elsewhere in the enchanted Everfree forest, the wise zebra shaman Zecora was out gathering her daily ingredients for various potions. She enjoyed her work and that the citizens of ponyville loved have her aid with medicine and healing. As she trotted into a hidden forest clearing that held most of the plants she needed. Zecora noticed a glowing light at the center of the forest clearing, as she moved closer she noticed it was an old pony standing in the middle of the shining light. He turned to Zecora who moved curiously closer to the old pony whose glow soon vanished. Zacora could tell by the lines of age on this stallion’s face that he was very old and wise.                The two stared at each other until the elder pony spoke.                “Greetings, I am Professor Iadoa….” > Chapter 3 > --------------------------------------------------------------------------          Within the grand Everfree Forest Zecora, the zebra shaman made contact with a strange elder earth pony that wore odd clothing that only added to the oblivious wisdom of this stallion. Zecora was no fool ether as she made sure that this stranger was at a safe distance. The stallion spoke with an aged voice, almost like a teacher or master of a craft would talk to his lesser.         “Can you understand me creature?” Iadoa had to make sure this realm’s denizens could at least speak English. “Who are you?” Zecora says startled but calm         “As I said my name is Iadoa and your realm is in danger. There is a creature here that has been infected with something that none of you should ever witnessing. This corrupted creature is a threat but it's also a harbinger of this world’s apocalypse.   "Please Iadoa tell me who is this one you speak the one who's future is bleak." "I can not meddle too much in another realm for long but you need to warn who ever bearers the weight of harmony." to which Zecora knew exactly who he was talking about. "Why them only and not some other pony." "The bearers of harmony may be the last chance this world has the one that is to be tested fells, together with the elements of harmony they can possibly cure the corruption before the time of testing comes.” "Very well I will gather them up in haste If it makes this disaster go to waste." "Excellent, now i must leave for I cannot let the eyes of chaos know that I have interfered."             When all was said and done Iadoa having meddled in the realm for too long put his hoof on his hourglass wristband which glowed a bight golden color that covered him completely. Zecora watched as the time sage soon disappeared into thin air.              Zecora quickly galloped back to her home in the forest as she headed the elder pony’s words as an ill omen. Inside the canterlot medical wing Princess Celestia awoke to the sight of her sister and nearly everypony in the castle who could fit in the room at her side. The look of worry on Luna’s face bothered Celestia as she hated to have her only sister fear for her well being.              “It is alright Luna, I’m fine.” Celestia moved out of the medical bed somewhat weakened.”               “Are you sure? You have been acting a little strange since you woke up.” Luna remembering the strange lullaby Celestia sang in the garden.               “Yes, I’ve just been not getting enough sleep that’s all.” Celestia raised her hoof to show all that she was fine and that they could return to there duties.                Celestia walked out of the medical wing with stride to make sure that no one would worry. She could have told them about the dream, the scar, or the corruption however she needed to make sure that she had all the information before causing a panic. As Celestia left with Luna right behind her, Celestia felt a little headache as she was thinking.                 ‘My head feels like somepony tried to smash my skull open. I need to lie down...’                 Celestia soon left Luna’s company to go to her bedroom, there she lowered her head on her pillow and hoped this headache would go away.                  ‘I still have to attend all those boring meeting still…why do you worry about those worms, can’t they take care of themselves for five minutes without you holding there hooves!’                  The strange voice in her head was a clear sign that the corruption in the princess was taking root, twisting her thoughts, and digging into her soul for her darkest secrets. Celestia tosses and turned in her bed as the corruption was warping her memories and feelings. It took her back to her youth in a vision.                   ‘I remember how when Luna was born our parents told me that I should always watch out for her and take care of her.’ Celestia monologue in her mind as the images played before her.                    In an instant her memories passed by her, finding the tree of harmony and the elements, defeating discord, and then…it stopped at the one memory Celestia hated more then anything.                     ‘Luna, my darling little Sister…. she changed into nightmare moon and attacked me…but it wasn’t her fault…No! She knew exactly what she was doing!’                     The memory of fighting nightmare moon and luna’s banishment replayed over and over, tormenting Celestia.                     ‘You’re parents told you to take care of her and so you did for most of her life…but what of your life? All the possibilities you held and you had to give them up for a sister who took your love and thrown it aside for petty dark powers so that she could be loved by others! She didn’t even know how you felt being forced with responsibility you never wanted!                     ‘No, your wrong…you’re just the corruption trying to control me!’                    ‘Am I? Let me tell you the truth…the corruption doesn’t control, it releases ones true nature!’  I am your true self, a creature of passion and fury who wants to be free to do what she want, not what is best for ungrateful worms who would get rid of you the first chance they get!’                     ‘I will fight you!’                     ‘You are a facade, a mask that covers the true Celestia, and once the corruption takes over I will be free of your weakness…it’s only a matter of time.’                     Meanwhile in the colorful town of ponyville the young fillies and colts were heading off to school as the rest of the citizens did there daily duties from tending to the marketplace to working with their various talents. Near the town square was Sugercube Corner, the town’s colorful bakery shop where six ponies were enjoying a lovely lunch. "Ah this is such a good read." Pinkie Pie had her head in a purple book. "Pinkie what are you reading that has your attention?" Asks Twilight Sparkle. "Oh sorry twilight I was busy reading celestial chaos, but it looks like the story is not done yet, it is stuck on chapter 3." "But why are you reading an unfinished book, wouldn't it be more fun for it to be finished before you read it?" Rainbow Dash who just finishing the third Daring do book for the 14th time. "Its because its made by these ponies who continue to update the stories, I just happen to find them first." "That makes sense, I think." Says Twilight though confused. "So has anypony heard from Zecora today? She was going to deliver a back pain potion for granny smith." Applejack asks her friends. "I don't think so" replies twilight "Me either, although I've been a tad busy with my dresses for the summer season." Says Rarity as she eats her lunch. "I haven't seen her ether, but the forest animals seem much more nervous today."  Fluttershy adds in to the discussion. "Well we’ll have to go and see if Zecora needs help, she is usually busy this time of year, I guess she probably has alot of work today." Just then there was a loud roar came from the evergreen forest, it was so loud it made the ground shack a little. Everypony in town turned to see a few animals running from the forest. "What in the name of celestia was that?!" Twilight asks surprised by the loud boom. "I don't know I never heard a cry like that." Flutterhsy says still recovering from the roar under the lunch table. “It’s some big-old monster bear that was made by a scary alicorn!" Pinkie says out of no where. "What makes you say that?." Twilight asks puzzled. "Well I know of a monsters cry when i hear one, plus my book says that in a very vague way that a mean alicorn turned an animal into a monster." Pinkie squees with joy. "Please pinkie those only happen in fan fictions." Rainbow dash says dismissing the idea. "Well what if we are in a fan fiction ever think of that Rainbow dash?!" "Oh...i hope the forest animals aren't in danger." Fluttershy says with concern as the thought of a poor critter alone with a monster filled her head. "And what about Zecora, what if the beast that made the sound is also why she isn’t in town?" Rarity says "Rarity is right, we need to go and see if Zecora is in danger!” applejack got up from the lunch table with the others. "So is everyone ready to head to the evergreen forest to solve this mystery." Twilight said as she rallied her friends. "Ya!." They reply in unison, thus the six ponies walked out of sugercube corner and quickly galloped out of town, into the Everfree Forest to check on there friend. Within a massive cave the ursa major’s earth shattering roar terrorized the local animals, forcing them to run out of the forest area. Slowly the corruption speared thru out the major’s body. It roared as the pain only increased as time pasted. Drakath walked out of the cave with a grim smile on his face as his new pet will cause so much chaos once the corruption settles in its body. Drakath then like a phantom vanished into thin air.   Celestia awoke from her nap covered in sweat, to her relief she was still herself. However she could feel something outside, so she went to her balcony window. As the fresh air brushed against her white coat she felt a strange present coming from Everfree forest. Panicking Celestia trotted quickly to the guardhall as she knew something evil was about to emerge and would put the town of Ponyville in grave danger. > chapter 4: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestial Chaos Chapter 4 Inside the Canterlot guard hall, a large white granite stone building in between the royal castle and the city market district, the royal guards and trainees were performing there daily routines, training lessons, or just taking a break for a minute. That’s when Princess Celestia walked in the hall with an expression of anger mixed with concern. The guards quickly stood in single file line and the new guard captain meet the princess in the middle of the ornate guard hall. “Captain I need you and the guards to come with me immediately!” Celestia roared. “Yes your majesty…where are we going to?” The guard captain asked inquisitively. “To ponyville…there is a grave threat in the Everfree forest and we must protect the town’s ponies.” “Yes your majesty…” the guard captain turned to guards still in line. “Everypony quickly get your gear and be ready to move out!” the guards rushed around the hall to prepare as Celestia walked outside in the guard halls courtyard. “I hope we aren’t too late.” She whispered. Elsewhere inside the palace in Luna’s bedroom, the princess of night was preparing herself to travel to ponyville. She wished it was under better circumstances as well as not happening now, with her sister acting so odd. However Luna hoped her sister was truly well. Luna was about to depart from her window as she saw her sister fly with the guards to the troubled town, until she felt something off. She tired to walk but could not move, as if a great pressure was set on her very being. “What’s going on?!” said Luna as her very shadow on the ground grew around her until she was in an empty black void. “Greetings princess of the lunar darkness…” A loud voice from nowhere spoke to Luna, it was strange as it sounded like a stallion speaking in a monotone manner but also felt like something…darker. “Who said that, Where are you?!” She screamed into the grand void. “What I choose to speak to you as is what remands of my mortal self, an endless void…I have many names given to me by mortals from every walk of life and every reality however you may call me.….The'Galin.” “What do you want with me?!” “Fear not mortal for your time of judgment is not here….But the mortal you call Celestia is in grave danger….a danger that may end your world.” Luna became silent as this The'Galin continued. “Celestia is infected with an abomination upon the cosmos known as corruption. I can sense it now slowly eating away her resolve, creating a vile new persona to control her body. However this is only part of the danger as she will fall to the corruption and only then I will act.” “When the time comes you will be tested and the outcome will determine the survival of this world.” In a flash the void disappears and luna could move freely however The'Galin gave one final message that sent shivers down her spine.” “Creation's greatest enemy is I, for Creation's greatest enemy is itself. I come to test and to destroy and hope only to fail utterly as I failed in life. For in failing, I shall succeed. Those who know this and understand may come to understand me. Be ready… I am coming for you, and I shall not be merciful.” Luna found herself sweating and trembling but quickly regained her composer and flied out of her balcony window to join Celestia and the guards as they reached ponyville. Luna started at her sister as she wondered what that…thing told her was true. Within the lush Everfree forest the six pony friends were traveling to Zecora’s house all the while unaware of the beast soon to show itself. As they traveled in the forest they begin to notice it was rather a quiet, much quieter than usual. "The forest has a rather mysterious feel to it." "Of course it does, it is the Everfree forest it always has a mysterious feel to it." Rainbow speaks sarcastically "I know it does dash, but it feels even weirder than ever before." Twilight retorts. "It can't be as weird as the time we fought discord or when we had out cutie marks swapped or even the mirror portal you went thru." Pinkie says. "Yeah I guess your right, but I don’t know it feels like there is something off." "Twi you aren't alone on the thought I have been having these chills like something is gonna happen." Applejack says "Where are the forest animals? I haven heard them in since we got in here, there something wrong.  Maybe they got hurt, or trapped." Fluttershy says panicking. "Calm down fluttershy I am sure they are fine you don’t have to worry about them as much, I’m sure that loud roar just made them run out of the forest." Rarity states trying to keep everyone under control. "Well I don’t know about you but this is not scaring me one bit, I mean why are you all worrying?" Rainbow retorts shrugging off the issues. Suddenly the ground starts shaking and the mysterious roar gets louder and more commanding causing the ponies to stop dead in their tracks. "What is going on here?!" Twilight shouts surprised. Out of nowhere Zecora comes running towards them with a look of panic on her face. "Run run the ursa major is not fun." Zecora states as she ran past the six ponies. Busting out of a nearby stone cave and standing like a towering monster, an Ursa major but with an frightening appearance.  Not only is the major twice as massive of his original height, but now he had twisted spikes growing out of random places on its body and demonic purple wings sticking out of its back..  His claws were the size of a dragons head, his arms bigger than two houses, and his roar could cause a small earthquake. To say he is scary is an understatement to the extreme. The Ursa major smashed thru the forest like a behemoth, sending trees and rocks fling in the air. It ignored the fire surrounding it and consuming the forest as it slowly moved to ponyville. Quickly the six ponies ran behind Zecora to ponyville. However the bear was stopped by a moonlight colored barrier. Out of nowhere princess luna comes soaring thru the sky, gliding around the major. The major smashes the barrier and tries the swat Luna out of the sky. The princess easily files around the majors claw and tries to paralyze the beast with various spell blasts. Within Ponyville the royal guards were busy keeping the town’s ponies at a safe distance. Everypony watched as princess celestia decreeing that the ponies stay back and everything would be fine, she soon flied over the forest to join her sister in battling the strange ursa major. Together the royal princesses blasted there spell at the major to no affect. The battle lasted for almost an hour until suddenly Celestia felt a great pain in her body as the corruption was spreading again, to which the major knocked Celestia with its mangled claw sending her into the ground hard. Everyone gasped at the sight of their beloved princess falling to the beast, especially her sister. “Tia!” luna distracted by her sister lying on the ground didn’t notice the majors other claw which grabbed her from the air. The major was slowly crushing Luna as she screamed in bone breaking pain. The citizens of ponyville watched in horror as the princesses were in peril. At this point the six ponies stop dead in their tracks at the town’s outskirts, twilight was shocked but quickly regained for composure as she opened her alicorn wings and took to the skies to try and find her beloved teacher with her friend’s right behind her. “Luna!” Celestia tried to get off the ground but her wings were broken and she could barley move without being in pain. Then the corrupted voice in her mind returned. ‘Behold! The Ursa Major is corrupted making it more powerful then you can handle! Of course if you let the corruption settle in you body you can have the power to stop this beast…’ ‘No!’ ‘If you want you beloved subjects and sister to live…you will!” Celestia had to think fast. If she allowed the corruption taken root she would change, maybe permanently, however she would have the power to save everypony. Thus Celestia made the only choice. ‘Fine, I will let the corruption take hold of my essence just as long as everypony is safe.’ So celestia let go of her focus, her will to repress the corruption and allowed it to spread unhindered. In mere seconds her body glowed a bright purple and her body began to change as purple veins begin to appear along with tendrils and jagged spikes on her once pure body. The process was very painful as if someone tearing her apart and remaking her in a different image. But she had to withstand the pain if it meant to save everypony. Celestia stopped glowing and was surprised to her new appearance. Celestia now has light purple fur and dark purple tentacles wrapped around her legs, her once graceful wings were now demonic dark purple bat wing, her vision was a mixture of red and purple, her rainbow like main was still there felt a lack of life in them, and her cutie mark was a dark purple sun. She took merely a few steps when her mind began to ache as the evil within her surface. Her face of concern was now replaced with a manic look. “Now that I am finally free of my weaker half I will show this world the true power of a chaos lord!” Celestia spoke with an unfamiliar dreadful voice as she shot into the sky like a rocket. Twilight was almost too horrible of a teacher when she saw taken to the sky however she knows that the princess was covered in an aura of dark purple malice. Twilight landed on the ground next to her friends as they watch Celestia attack the beast again. Celestia flied around the beast and using her magic blasts to cut large wounds on the creature as it’s roared in agony. The princess then smashed into the Ursa’s chest at great speed sending it off its balance, falling to the ground like a rock and freeing Luna from its grasp. However the princess wasn’t done “Worthless creature, preparer to the annihilated!” She screamed like a mad mare. She forced her magic into her twisted jagged horn as she prepared to lay the final blow. However her sister soon flew up to her. “Wait, the beast is the defeated we just need to contain it now.” Luna pleaded to her sister. “Why would I want to contain this abomination if anything death would be more merciful.” “What you're talking about the beast is infected with something that has clearly made it deranged.” “I know, that which is why I'm going to annihilate it right here!” Celestia was about to blast the mighty spell at the falling beast however Luna tackled her sister into the ground. Celestia was off balance and gave Luna enough time to cast your own spell on the beast but not destroying it but moving it to a safe place where it cannot harm anypony. Celestia quickly got off the damaged ground and turned to her sister with a look of rage in her eyes. “You dare interfere with my work!” Celestia roared “Sister what is wrong with you, it was an innocent Ursa that was plagued with some kind of madness, we could help but not destroy it!” “And once again you prove your weakness, why did are parents task me with the care of such a pathetic creature?!” Luna was hurt and confused by what her sister's. Celestia quickly teleported off the damaged ground and appeared in front of her shocked sister whom she smacked across the face with her hoof, sending Luna to the ground. Luna looked at her sister from the dirt to see her frightening appearance, while also remembering what the strange voice told her. “You're infected just like the Ursa!” But Celestia didn't say a word as she smiled and focused her chaotic horn’s magic to do away with her sister, fortunately for Luna her corrupted sister was hit by a violet magical bolt that caused the princess to slowly fall asleep onto the ground. Luna rises off the ground to see that her sister’s most faithful student, twilight sparkle was the one who shot the magic with tears in her eyes. The princess quickly gathered the six other ponies and told them to help bring her sister to the town. The six ponies approached the princess and were confused and horrified at her appearance but twilight levitated her teacher and slowly they track back to the small town. On the way applejack asked Luna where the Ursa major went to which Luna replied. “For the time being I am placed the beast on the Moon where he can't do any damage.” Within the damaged and burnt parts of the forest floated the phantom like villain, Drakath as he smiled with such malice as he watched the devastation his beast caused. But what made him even more excited was the fact that the princess was now a chaos lord, even if deep inside her being she is still pure that body occurs is now a perfect weapon of chaos. Drakath looks up into the sky and begins to laugh like a mad man as he sees in a very distance of space a shining star of crimson blood red is now appeared in this realm. “It's only a matter of time now... for soon this peaceful harmonic world will be gone and with it the only thing that could threaten my power….. Mahahah!” > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestial Chaos Chapter 5 It had been two days since the events within the Everfree forest, where the Royal Princesses battled the Great Ursa Major. Rumors were circulating around Equestria that Celestia had been taken to the medical wing of the Canterlot Castle, wounded by the great bear. Princess Luna had tasked the medical staff to quickly restore the Sun Goddess back to proper health, while she did her best to keep the general public from panicking. Assuring them that all will be well. Truth was, things couldn’t get much worse. The staff bustled themselves within the confines of the Medical Wing. Doctors, nurses, and some of the most prominent scholars in magic theory were being called in to assess and treat the beloved ruler. Outside of the Princess’ hospital room was a small gathering of ponies as they impatiently waited for the Doctor’s to finish their examination of Celestia. Each of them mirrored concern and worry on their faces for her, especially after what they had witnessed in the Everfree Forest. Twilight frowned as she looked back up at the clock and rubbed her eyes in frustration. She mentally ran through her checklist of known facts, knowing that they would lead her to the answer of what had befallen her Mentor. It was clear that she had somehow been corrupted. Zecora and Luna both shared with them all the warnings they had received about a growing corruption. Luna’s was more specific, directing the warnings around the Moon Goddess’ sister. Adding the bizarre behavior seen in the Everfree Forest only seemed to confirm that fact. But the question that seemed to haunt the purple unicorn was how the corruption started and what did it mean. Solving these questions would lead them to getting closer to fixing the actual problem. Twilight gave an exasperated sigh and turned to her friends. “I don’t know what to do! I’ve never come across anything like this in my reading.” "Cheer up, sugar cube,” replied Applejack with a confident smile. “Ya just workin yaself over, Twi. Celestia is a Princess, and Ah’m sure as apple pie that she’ll be fine.” “Yeah,” agreed Rainbow Dash, but without her usual perkiness. “I mean, this is Princess Celestia we’re talking about. She’s been through loads of stuff. She’ll beat this thing.” “I don’t know, girls,” said Twilight. “Corruption is completely different from facing things like Discord or Nightmare Moon. It affects the person’s mind, causing them to believe in things that they would normally be against.” Rarity nodded in agreement with the purple alicorn. “Ponies are only as good as their leaders. If the Princess were to remain like this...” “What about Luna or Discord?” quietly asked Fluttershy, causing everypony to jump. She hadn’t said a word since they had gotten to the castle. “Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, and Discord changed us. Maybe they can help.” “We had the Elements then, sugar,” said Applejack. “If we had em back, the this whole darn mess would have been a pretty quick fix.” Silence passed between the friends with that remark, all of them were all lost in their own thoughts. Losing the Elements had been a tremendous, but necessary sacrifice at the time. With Celestia being afflicted and the balance of power slowly shifting away, before them laid an unsteady future at best. “Twi, where ya going?” asked Applejack as she noticed the alicorn trotting off. “The Doctor is almost done!” “I’m going to find Princess Luna,” she replied. “Fluttershy might be onto something…” *** “Princess, are you okay?” asked Spike as he watched the moody alicorn pace back and forth. He’d been taking “to-do” notes for her since they got here on what needs to be done while Celestia remained in her state. She’d been taking it well for a while at least, but the young dragon could see her mask start to break. "Nay, Spike,” replied Luna as glanced over at him. “My sister just tried to kill me. Just like how… How I tried to all those years ago.” “Princess, it isn’t your fault.” “Isn’t it, Spike?” Luna replied, tears starting to form in her eyes. “We are responsible for those we care about. To make sure that they are safe, to extend a hoof when they are in need. I should have noticed something was amiss with her, but I chose not to.” “You can’t blame yourself for things like that,” said Twilight as she trotted around the corner. “Nopony saw this coming.” “And yet, I should have, Twilight Sparkle,” retorted Luna. “I’m her sister. I should have been there for her.” “Regrets for the past aren’t going to solve anything,” she replied flatly. “We need to focus on the present. You need to stay strong, for all of us now.” “All of us,” muttered the lunar princess. She felt then the crushing weight of her crown. She was no longer a simple Diarch of Equestria, but now bore the responsibility of caring for the nation as its monarch. Oh Tia, is this what you felt when I was banished? “Thank you for your kind words, Twilight Sparkle,” replied Luna as she wiped a tear away. She took a deep breath and exhaled. “What can I help you with?” Before Twilight had the chance to open her mouth and ask about Nightmare Moon, a stallion in a white lab coat rounded the corner and gave a polite cough. “Your Majesty? I’ve finished with my examination of Princess Celestia and well… It’s pretty serious. We’ve done what we can to slow the corrupting influence, but her condition is worsening.” “Show me,” ordered the Princess of the Night. The doctor bowed his head and took off in a trot, followed closely by the two princesses. He opens the door to Celestia’s room and motioned them in. The two alicorns stop once they come within sight of the Solar Princess. Her usually beautiful white coat was a tarnished grey, and there were odd purple markings that stretched up her legs. Twilight glanced up at Luna to gauge her reaction. The Lunar Princess’ face might as well have been chiseled out of stone as not a flicker of emotion passed over the carefully controlled face. “Is she okay?” asked the purple alicorn after a few minutes of silence. The Doctor nodded his head. “We’ve been able to prolong the sleeping spell, but we don’t know if this will help or hinder her body’s ability to fight off the corruption.” “What can we do?” asked Twilight “Medically, we’ve done all we can do.” grimaced the Doctor. The three ponies returned their attention to the fallen Sun Goddess, each of them full with their own thoughts and regrets. A small knock at the door broke them out of their stupor. They turned to see Zecora waving them to follower her."Come quick! I have a friend from a different time. He is here to help protect you from the expected crime." Twilight and Luna trotted out of the room, sparing one last glance at the princess. Outside of the room, the rest of Twilight’s friends stood gathered around Zecora and a very old looking stallion. “My name is Iadoa,” greeted the stallion as the Princesses moved into their circle. His voice, strong and firm, betrayed his wizened appearance. He reminded Twilight of the descriptions of Starswirl the Bearded. “I am a Guardian and I am your only hope to fighting off this evil. The Elements of Harmony as you know are some of the strongest mystical forces known to ponydom. Only they have the power that can destroy the corruption in the Sun Goddess." “We don’t have the Elements anymore, Iadoa,” replied Twilight. “We lost them to save Equestria.” “While their physical presence is no longer here, the power still is,” replied the stallion. “You need to open the box that came from the Tree of Harmony. From there you can get the power needed to save your Princess and this world. You just need the keys.” "But Iadoa we haven't found any and we don't know where they are" "Which is why I am here.” Iadoa pulled out a scroll and placed it on the floor. Everypony gathered around as Iadoa opened the scroll to reveal an ancient of Equestria, to which he explains that he is traveled through the time stream of this realm while avoiding the eyes of chaos and has created a map leading to the location of the six keys. Iadoa tells six of the ponies that they must gather supplies that get their town and that Twilight should bring the box with this will be a difficult quest given that the villain named Darkath will know that they are after the cure. "Darkath is a champion of chaos from his realm and he is the one responsible for the corruption of Celestia." Applejack gave a frown. “Why would he want to corrupt the princess." Iadoa pointed to the crimson star in the sky then states, "The star’s ruler is named The Devourer. This monster has only one goal to travel the cosmos and eliminate corruption from existing on planets. He does a test if they pass the test the creature will leave, however should they fail then whole planet is erased from existence. That's Darkaths plan to lure the Devourer to Equestria to remove the power from the Tree of Harmony effectively preventing a threat from ever challenging his rule." After finally explaining the situation to the ponies, the time sage placed his hoof on his wrist hourglass causing them to glow into a bright golden color. Iadoa slowly vanishes as he says that he cannot stay in this realm for too long. As the time sage vanished Luna quickly told the six ponies, You need to heed Iadoas warning and travel back to ponyville to grab supplies because you not only need to save my sister, but Equestria as well. Meanwhile in a dark cave Darkath hears of the Time sage and his plan to save Celestia. “That freaking sage why does he always interfere with my plans. No matter he is not important as of now I must concentrate my attacks on stopping those dang ponies from interfering and I know what to do. They need to get those 6 keys now I can’t summon creatures to do the attack and kill them because The Devourer will know I am here and I will cease to exist, so instead I will make sure to test their abilities I mean they are pastel colored ponies how can they defeat me a ruler of chaos. I will make sure they fail and once they have The Devour will erase this world and everything on it with one vail swoop and it will end one of the greatest threats to my galactic domination.”
