"Embrace? You ready? I have everything set up," Shade called out. Embrace was looking out in the flower field by their den. She was unaware of Shade's call. She was lost in thought, thinking about her past.

From before she even met Shade, even as he was a silver colored Eevee. She has recalled the times how silly he was and trying to fit in due to his different colors. It was awkward that day, the day they first met. How the small Eevee was trying to get her attention, by showing his personality. He was acting so open to her that day, she couldn't have just turned him down that day. If she hadn't decided on being his friend, she wouldn't have been where she was right now, she had no regrets. She loved him, she knew that, she was hoping that he would ask her to be mates one day.

"Embrace?" Shade called out again, this time sitting down next to her.

"Oh, uh, hey there Shade," Embrace responded, sounding a bit uncomfortable.

"What are you doing?" Shade started to grow worried about her.

"It's just, I'm thinking about everything that led up to this moment. I'm wondering about how my trainers doing."

Shade shook his head. "Please, don't worry. She even said that she wanted you to be happy. To be happy with me. That's why she made that. She even smashed... what do you call those again?"

"Poké Balls, I was pretty upset when she did that, after that moment, I was now considered a wild pokemon. She took care of me since I was an egg." Shade put his paw the string of the necklace around Embrace's neck. She cherished and loved it equally as much as she did with Shade. She clicked it open to show the photo her trainer took of both Shade and Embrace. She finally had the spirit to give it to her after inserting the photo in it, after putting it around the Sylveon's neck, she smashed my Poké Ball after that, which indicated that she was fine to go through with it. She ran from the scene after it, Embrace had tried to chase, but Shade stopped her, telling her that she would be fine. She hasn't been seen since her release, she had thought about her daily. "And once I go through with this, I can't turn around."

"If you want to turn around... then you can." Embrace whipped her head to see Shade's face, expecting to see a sad expression, instead, he provided a warm smile. "I can take care of myself Embrace, I want you to always be happy, and if you're happier with your trainer, then be my guest." She couldn't believe her ears, Shade was really willing to go through with this. She misses her trainer greatly, but doesn't want to leave Shade at the same time.

"I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU SHADE," Embrace spat out like venom. She was startled at her own outburst, she covered her lips. Tears started to form in her blue eyes as she couldn't make any decision, she couldn't decide what to do, it was too much. Trying to come back to her trainer where she was raised, or stay with Shade to be happy and have children, was not a decision she could make. Only thing she did, was cry even harder as she cried into her paws. She felt a pair of forelegs wrap around her, her only response was to cry into Shade's fur. He was silent, letting her calm down. She felt him rubbing her back as she continued to sob. "I'm still s-so worried about h-her Shade," she managed to say.

"It's okay to be worried, it's okay."

Her crying has calmed down to sniffles as she looked up at Shade, still trying to comfort her. "I love you so much Shade." Dry tears on her face, she gave a Shade a small peck on the cheek, the Umbreon's eyes was focused on something on the field. Embrace looked at it too, to their surprise it was a bright light, coming from one spot. It was coming from the centre of the flower field.

Something emerged from it, it was a large quadrupedal pokemon. It had a lower blue body and the back side of it served a black, slender body. The magnifying focus of the Pokemon was its set of antlers, which sported a shade of blue. Embrace knew who it was, as she released herself from Shade's grip and moved towards the creature.

"Embrace! What are you doing!? Don't go near it!" Shade yelled, soon following.

The creature looked towards the blue sky, not noticing the two pokemon running to it. Its eyes were a blue color, with an X in the middle of them, most likely serving as pupils.

"X-Xerneas?!" Embrace yelled out to it. The deer like pokemon turned its head to see the Sylveon just a few steps from it. It bent its legs so its head hovers just above the ground.

"Yes," Xerneas responded, in a feminine voice. The Intertwining pokemon soon realized it was talking to her through telepathy. "You must be the Sylveon that goes by the name Embrace, I can sense that you're troubled."

"What are you doing here? I thought you were under the ownership of a trainer," Sylveon asked.

"I was, indeed, but I was soon released by him, since I have fulfilled my purpose to serve him. I know your problems have to do with the decisions you are faced with this very night."

"Wait wait wait," Shade interrupted. "You know this Pokemon Embrace?"

"Well, I have heard rumours about it from other pokemon, but I always believed the myths." Embrace smiled at the huge pokemon. "I always knew it would be real."

"Embrace, tell me, tell me about your situation."

This struck her as odd. She would tell her that it was her own business, but she was a Legendary Pokemon, and may even have a close relation to the creator in Arceus. "I bet you know the relations between people and pokemon already, I love Shade, with all my heart. And at the same time, the guilt I carry when I left my trainer, she had acted like a mother to me."

"I do, Calem was such an enthusiastic boy. His personality and love of pokemon was past no other relationship of people and pokemon. Unlike me, another pokemon absolutely despises the human race, wishing he would someday have this world subjugated."

"What do you mean by that?" Shade had intruded.

"Please, have a seat, the both of you."

They were obligated as they sat down on the one spot void of flowers.

"Yveltal's life runs on the life of living thing's life source, making him sound like a very menacing pokemon. Embrace, I have no answer to your decision, it's one you must make yourself. However, I can share this, when something new has been born, the world becomes a smaller place. This may seem irrelevant, but new life means a longer life span of this world, and having a child of your own can be a blissful moment in life."

Embrace had took this into consideration. She knew her trainer must have been sad, but she went through the pain to release her. She smiled as she wished to be her to be safe on her own. She looked at Shade, he knew that she had finally made her decision, and she loved her for it.

"The Umbreon, Shade." He was surprised to hear his name called out by the Legendary pokemon. "Embrace's mate-to-be. Never let her out of your sight, or you may lose your control, being torn down by despair and feeling of failure. I have found out that Yveltal can take the body of a pokemon to extend its Life span, however, he can only do it when the Pokemon feels vulnerable. Keep this in mind, because he was awaken from his slumber." After hearing it, Embrace seemed to feel uneasy, Shade put his paw on top of hers, trying to make her feel safer. "Your love for her is not an illusion Shade, I'm happy to see that. Your choice of mate was not to be reconsidered, that's true love. Same goes for you Embrace, you two are destined to be together.

"However, the real reason I was here was to commemorate the day that Pokemon was born and first used his powers to take every life miles away from here. It was so destructive," she mourned.

"So is there something special about this flower field? I only brought Embrace here because I knew she loved flowers, and I've never seen humans around this area," Shade added. "I've known this flower field for a while now, is there something we need to know about it?"

"Yes, this was where I had took my slumber, seeing that all the life be destroyed all around me, I had to bring it back. So during my slumber, life had been reborn and brought back to life here." Xerneas sounded more mellow than it was before, most likely thinking of those years back in the pokemon war. "However, one pokemon was ever my only best friend from the time, but now, he's gone. And I couldn't bring him back." Embrace couldn't believe her eyes, Xerneass' eyes were watering, the X in them were blurry as she looked at the two eeveelutions.

"That's so sad, I'm so sorry," Embrace said.

"I decided to take my slumber again, to maybe wake to another trainer like Calem. Shade, remember what I said to you and cross your heart that you will keep the promise you put upon yourself. Embrace, don't be afraid to move on, birth is a wonderful thing, and don't try to ruin the moment."

"We will," Embrace and Shade said in unison. They looked at each other and blushed.

"Take care you two, may we meet again." With that said, the legendary pokemon flashed in a brilliant light as its form began to morph. When the light disappeared, what took Xerneas's place was a white tree, crossed with an X.

"She's a cool Pokemon," Shade said. "I never would of thought we would meet a legendary pokemon the day we were planning on mating. Right Embrace?" The Sylveon took one last look at the tree before walking towards him.

"Thank you so much Shade."

Before Shade can respond, his lips were tackled by another pair, as he was starting to know what was happening. It was just like how the Moonlight pokemon first asked her about being potential mates, where Embrace made the first move. It felt exactly like that one moment they had. It was much longer, much more meaning to it. The wisdom they were given has pushed Embrace to continue on her road to be Shade's mate. Shade pulled away as he looked at Embrace, locking eye contact.

"Want to go back to our plans? Or do you want to wait more?" Shade asked.

Embrace had her ribbons caress her soon to-be-mate's chin. "I'd love to, I'm eager to be a mother."

Together, they walked back to their den, where Shade had everything set up.

The sun was just above horizon, giving the sky a red tint to it. The air is warm, the winds that flow throughout the flower field are very soft, feeling nice to feel against one's face. In the den of the two mates, Embrace and Shade, they sleep, tired. They lay wrapped in each others legs, sleeping on the bed of soft leaves.

Shade's eyes fluttered open, meeting Embrace's sleeping form. He smiled, as he started to caress her cheek. She looked so peaceful, he didn't want to wake her, as he slowly moved away from her, her paws laying on the leaves instead of him. She looked outside to see it almost sunset. He stretched out his body, after from sleeping for about two or three hours, and stepped out of his den. He was hungry, it was time for dinner. He went deeper into the forest as he knew about berry trees his friend keeps.

The night was quiet, it was almost too quiet for nocturnal pokemon were supposed to be out and running. The only thing he was hearing was some Kricketot chirping. He felt like he was being watched, he had no idea why, but it was just a feeling.

He finally got to the berry trees which consisted of pecha, sitrus, and oran berries. He knew that his friend wouldn't mind if he took some, first he got some to eat for himself. He ate a couple of sitrus berries for the sweet taste, than had some oran berries. He loved the two berries because of how common they were, and then he had one pecha berry.

He saw a basket weaved out of straws of long strands of grass, from the help of his other friend since he is a psychic type. He started using psychic as he gathered a dozen Oran berries, a few pecha berries, and a mouthful of sitrus berries. He carried the basket in his mouth as he headed back to his den. He was glad that the night has finally rolled in, as his energy felt restored due to being an Umbreon.

Not long before starting to walk back, he heard something snap behind him. He swung his head to see something running at high speeds.

SLAM!

The basket was sent flying towards a tree, where the handle got caught by a tree on the side of the road. Shade's eyes felt dizzy as his eyes tried to refocus themselves. Once his eyes landed on the attacker, it was a familiar sight to see.

"Sapphire? What are you doing here?" Shade asked, still a little irritated. Sapphire was an Absol, the Disaster Pokemon. He was still rubbing his head, most likely gotten a bruise near his sickle-like horn. The Absol had been one of the closest Pokemon to Shade, Absol had even taught him the move, Sucker Punch. The last time they had seen each other was when their forest was being attacked by a group of Pokemon hunters. Shade couldn't help but run up to him and give him a hug. "I thought you were captured." Shade literally had tears falling from his face.

The Absol seemed to miss Shade as well as he smiled down at the eeveelution. As Shade stepped back, he had a grin on his face, behind the two waterfalls. Sapphire was happy to see him as well. "It's nice to see you son," the Absol said. He felt happy to call him his son, even though their genes are completely different. Instead of being actual father and son, Shade was adopted by him. "I was, but a few cages couldn't keep me from getting out in the wild."

"Why have you just appeared now?"

"Remember what I told you? I can sense disasters coming. I want you to get out of here A.S.A.P." Shade had never heard his new father this worried. "It has to do with a strange fog north of here."

"What's so bad about?" Shade asked.

"Let's just say it's like a black hole, you go in it, you don't return," Sapphire said, making it sound simple as possible. Shade seemed to understand as he looked north to see the black fog slowly crawling forward.

"I need to get my mate out of here!" Shade yelled, as he run south of the forest. Sapphire's eyes widened as Shade continued to run. He started to tear as he smiled and decided to follow close by.

"Finally, he's finally grown up," Sapphire whispered to himself, with the sound of joy in his voice. However, he felt hurt at the same time, knowing full well why.

"Wake up Embrace, please," Shade asked in a frightened voice.

Embrace started to shuffle as her eyes creaked open, still looking very sleepy. "What's going on Shade?"

Before he could answer, they heard the chatters of different pokemon coming from outside, some of them were even worried. The view was blocked by Sapphire. "Hey kiddo, there is still the East side of the forest I need to gather, come on," he said as he took notice of the fairy-type behind Shade. "You must be the one Shade was talking about, I'm Sapphire, you must evacuate immediately."

The sleepy pokemon got immediately to her paws as her eyes widened, indicating she was awake. "What's happening?!" she exclaimed.

"There is a deadly fog slowly rolling in, a few pokemon were already consumed by it, not to comeback after a few minutes. I don't want others to fall victim as well." There was a hint of concern for in the Absol's voice. Embrace could tell that the Disaster pokemon meant well, so she did something she may regret soon.

"My name is Embrace, I would like to come with you," she said with confidence. Shade's eyes widened at Embrace's remark.

"But you can't! I won't allow it!" Shade screamed. This seemed to shake the whole den as Shade's outburst startled Embrace, but not Sapphire. "Please Embrace, I don't want you to get hurt, I don't want to lose another pokemon that's important to me. And I can't allow you to get close to it because... I want to have our child safely hatched." He placed his forelegs on her shoulder as they made eye contact. However, Embrace needed to ask what he just said.

"You've lost a pokemon important to you Shade?" Embrace asked, getting closer to him.

He was silent, not even bothering to answer the question. Instead of trying answer the question with the pain and misery that takes place when he answers it, he switches the subject back to their regular goal. "You can help Embrace, just please be careful and stay with Sapphire or me at all time. I promise to tell you later."

Embrace rolled her eyes. "All right," she said, not wanting to push on the question even further.

The fog has gotten closer to the point it was just a few metres away from their den. Embrace grabbed her necklace before heading out with the two dark types. "Shade," Sapphire started. "Can you still use screech to get everyone's attention in this area?" Shade nodded as he walked in front of the two, making sure that the sound waves don't hit them. A red orb appeared in front of his mouth as he took in a deep breath, then the sound waves started travelling throughout the area. Sapphire can really tell that Shade has gotten stronger, he was quite happy.

"You're lucky Embrace," Sapphire stated. "You're lucky to have him love you so much."

"We just met, who are you exactly?"

"I'm Shade's father, or so he considers me, and I consider him my son. I help him with what he knows so I can help him sharpen his skills. He mentioned something about having a kid soon, I'm assuming your his mate?"

"Wait, I thought his parents were a Jolteon and Vaporeon. And I am, we may have an egg in a week or two."

"Those were his real parents." This shook her up from the inside. Real parents? Then Embrace found out what he may have been talking about. "Long story short, something happened to them."

"H-he never told me about that! Why do you think he didn't tell me!?" Embrace said in a sort of whisper, but was still a hint of anger in her voice.

"It's cause of how it went," Sapphire told her in a few short words.

On how Sapphire said it, it told her not to push the subject even further. "I'll ask him myself someday."

Sapphire leaned his head close to the Sylveon as he whispered. "I might tell you some time, when I get the chance. For now, could you help with the pokemon that won't cooperate with me?"

"I'll help."

At that moment, Shade had finished his screech attack. Many sleepy pokemon walked to see what was happening, they were happy not to see any aggressive pokemon such as Ursaring in the area. The group composed of many bug, bird, and normal type pokemon such as Yanma, Fletchling, and many others. Sapphire stepped up as he acted as the leader.

"Listen everybody, a deadly fog is seen rolling that has been known to consume pokemon that have already entered it. I advise you leave this area at once." The only response he got was many pokemon speaking amongst themselves, saying that they've been woken up for nothing. A Heracross came into the air, wings flapping with his horn glowing, charging to attack the Absol. Sapphire was calm and collective,

"You woke us up for this!? You're the Disaster pokemon!" It screamed while charging. The only response he got was the Absol instant appeared beside it, nose length away from the bug pokemon. It seemed like time slowed down as he whispered to the bug.

"I'm not that hesitant when it comes to protesters, you put this upon yourself." Sapphire's swung his body into the Heracross's, showing how powerful his sucker punch was. Its eyes were just yellow as its pupils were in its sockets, the pain was excruciating, easily knocking it back, slamming into a tree. Shade was fascinated on how strong Sapphire was, doing that much damage with an attack that does not do effective damage to a fighting type. He looked back at the crowd who looked in awe at the knocked out Heracross. "Any more pokemon object?"

"Please everyone, if you don't run away, then you too will fall to what happened to the other pokemon," Embrace said to support Sapphire's announcement. Right when Embrace said that, she saw a male Pyroar come out of the crowd.

"Listen to her everyone, my mate had just entered the fog and has yet to return. I worry this may happen to you as well." Everyone seemed to listen as they saw the fog rolling in closer as they soon ran into the opposite direction, frightened by it. They even saw the knocked out Heracross being dragged across the ground by three Ariados' string shot.

"That should be everyone. Lets get outside of the forest," Shade stated. Embrace took Sapphire's words to make sure it doesn't happen. She opened her mouth to ask about Sapphire.

Embrace felt something grip her abdomen, where it felt like air, but was solid at the same time. She didn't get the chance to say a word, only gasp.

She looked to see what it was, it was coming from the fog, her eyes widened at the shadow like claw that was holding her whole body. She never knew a shadow claw attack could do that, which must have needed great power to use. She did what she felt was appropriate. She screamed.

Shade and Sapphire whipped their heads around to see what happened, they saw Embrace being pulled back at high speeds. Shade's heart fell to the bottom of the chasm in his body, feeling emotionless. His mate has just been pulled into the fog.

"No you don't, Shade, hurry," Sapphire yelled before preparing to dash. He through up a stone in the air, then caught it in his teeth. His body glowed and started to change as he started to use a Quick attack into the fog. Shade felt motionless, he felt like his will to move on had been lost. His mind told him to go into the fog, and save Embrace, but his body wouldn't move. It was just like the incident with his mother.

His mate was just taken.

"Shade!" a voice called out from behind. His golden eyes stay widened as he was like a statue: stiff and emotionless. "Shade!" It called again. He felt a paw on his shoulder, but didn't bother to turn around to see who it was. The fog was getting closer to him as the paw left his shoulder as he was pulled back by something biting at his tail.

Then he blacked out.

Chapter 1: In a New land

"Hey girls, what are you doing here?" Twilight asked the gang.

Twilight was currently packing her things from the library to Canterlot where she had to discuss royal business, with the bonus of it being her first conference. All five of her friends were currently present in the Golden oaks library with Spike helping her with luggages.

"You'd never think that your friends wouldn't at least come by to say our farewells, we're coming with you!" Rarity responded, having a mirror levitated in front of her.

"Yeah! And remember, don't forget to celebrate a party!" Pinkie exclaimed, pulling a couple balloons out of her mane. She started to float in the air with the balloons lifting her to the ceiling. Like usually, everyone thought it would have been best not to ask about it.

"What's the celebration called this time Pinkie?" Twilight spoke out as she had to raise her voice, and saying it for about the 68th time.

"Ith's calleth the..." she released the balloons from her teeth as she landed on the wood floors on all fours, only for the shockwave to have her shake uncontrollably. Once done, she yelled. "The 'Good-luck-Twilight-at-your-conference-while-we-have-fun party."

"Well," Fluttershy said sheepishly. "The name certainly is original."

"I know right! Where going to have so much games like Pin-the-tail-on-the-pony, pegasus twister, and of course lots of music!"

"Hehe, well that's Pinkie for ya!" Rainbow dash piped up, giving Pinkie pie a rub on the head. "She makes the best parties ever! You can't disagree on that."

"Well Ah' for one, think that's a great idea. Ya'll know when it'll be, certainly can go undefeated in another round of hoof wrestlin'," Applejack beamed. Pinkie Pie pulled out a megaphone and breathed in deeply.

"IT'S A SECRET!" she hollered. The whole tree house shook violently as the items in her luggages spilled all right out of their respective bags, covering everyone in the process, and covering Spike completely. She looked around to see everyone on their back with them being effected by it in many different ways. Rarity's hair's curls were completely undone and were replaced by an afro on both her head and tail, Applejack's hat ended up on Pinkie's megaphone with her twitching, Rainbow dash's wing feathers were all out of place so much it would take hours to preen them again, Fluttershy had Rainbow dash's case as well except that her hair stood straight up, however, Twilight seemed unaffected by it as her magic pulled out to soft objects out of her ears. Pinkie threw the megaphone behind her as she blushed. "Woops."

Pinkie got a sigh from Twilight as her magic continued to gather everything back up and put them back in her bag. "I'd love to Pinkie, but I got to go in under an hour," Twilight implied, revealing that Spike had been K.O.'d by Pinkie Pie. Pinkie's eyes watered as she looked at her with puppy dog eyes.

"C'mon, PLEASE Twilight. PLEASE. Just play for at least a minute. We can do each activity for 10 seconds! Just please!" she begged. Twilight didn't want to be late for her conference within Canterlot, but she didn't want to choose. She really had no choice but to keep Pinkie disappointed.

"Sorry no, I don't want Celestia to be mad at me," Twilight admitted, placing the unconscious Spike on her back.

"A-Alright," Pinkie whispered.

Minutes before leaving, everyone regained consciousness as they walked with her to the train station. Rainbow dash would fly, but the wind was too much now that her feathers have been ruined, and Rarity's hair was getting closer to its original look as she had a comb and mirror with her.

When they reached the station, nopony was there except the pony in front of the train. As they got closer, they noticed that the pony attending ponies that get on the train is sleeping while still standing.

"Hey! Mr. Train pony. Do you mind giving our princess a lift to Canterlot?" Rainbow dash said as he got closer to the pony's muzzle.

No response.

"Yoo hoo! Mr. train pony! Toot too, you getting everyone on the train yet?" Pinkie asked as she hopped on his back. He did not budge, the only response was louder snoring. She grabbed a blowhorn out of her mane and prepared to blow his brain out. She chomped her teeth on the ball as the noise went from his right ear to left ear as his eyes were blood red and was now wide awake.

"Sweet Celestia, I'm sorry Caroline!" he yelled, only to look around to see himself at work. He sighed as he looked at the gang with an old grin. "Well hello ladies, may I help you?" he asked sheepishly.

"Is this train heading to Canterlot?" Rarity asked.

"I... I..." before he could finish, he fell asleep again.

"Jeez! What's with this geezer," Rainbow dash complained.

"Don't be so rude Rainbow, he probably had a bad dream last night, like Angel," Fluttershy supported.

"He thinks he can just fall asleep on business with a princess?" Rainbow walked up to him and slapped him across the face. He seemed to have woken up as his eyes were widened once again.

"Now Miss Rainbow dash, you think you can just go around slapping ponies like that?! How unlady like!" Rarity scolded.

"Hey, quit fighting you two," Twilight intruded. "Excuse me sir, but is there something wrong."

"O-oh hello Princess Twilight I-it's such an honour to meet you in person," he said, bowing down to her.

"At ease," Twilight said, not wanting anypony bowing down to her. "What's happening?"

"What's happened? You don't want to know! It's horrendous, terrifying, it's soul ripping!"

"Please, don't go overdramatic on me sir," Twilight moaned. "Just skip to why you're like this."

"Oh yes your majesty eh-"

"Please, just call me Twilight," she added.

"Alright Twilight, ma'am. As you may have noticed, my sleeping days have gone a bit... nuts. For 3 straight days, the whole city of Manehatten has been getting nightmares."

"The whole city? One of the biggest ones in Equestria?"

"Yes, all the children sleep on the streets instead of having fun, hay sandwich stands only have a sleeping stallion, and everyone can't seem to stay awake!"

"Is the reason know?"

"Maybe, there is a nightmare monster somewhere in that town!" Spike intruded. Twilight gave him an odd look.

"Spike, there's no, and I mean no way, that a monster could cause nightmares for ponies in their sleep. It's illogical." Twilight looked at the train conducter again as he was about to fall asleep again, but Twilight stomped her hoof on the ground, which emitted a loud 'clop' which reawakened him.

"Are you from Manehatten sir?"

"Yes, my wife Caroline and my two foals can't stay awake, not even a cup of coffee would work." He looked at the Princess intently before coming to a conclusion. "Twilight, we need your help!"

"I'm extremely sorry, but I have a meeting to attend to in Canterlot, I can't go."

"Just so happens that this train is parting to Canterlot right now, you just happen to be the only passenger on the train!"

"Ahem," Rainbow dash coughed, getting the pony's attention. "We're going to you know."

"Girls," Twilight announced. "On behalf rule as a princess, I assign you a mission."

"A mission? You expect meh to back down!? Ah'm in!" Applejack said with gusto.

"Well, as long as I don't get my hooves dirty, I'm fine," Rarity responded.

"W-well as long as my animals can stay safe, I can go," Fluttershy whispered.

"Pinkie Pie reporting for duty," Pinkie saluted.

"You can count on me Twilight, I will kick some monster flanks tonight!" Rainbow proclaimed.

"I need you guys to investigate the place and see what you can find, Rarity, use that spell I taught you so you can send letters to me," Twilight ensured. "I'll be sure to get them via Spike." Rarity looked at Spike, then gave him a wink. Spike was now captivated again, literally floating in the air with hearts in his eyes.

"Well, shall we Princess Twilight?" said the conductor.

"But wait, when's the next train to Manehatten?" Rarity asked.

"Ohh, I'm horribly sorry, but the train to Manehatten has been cancelled due to those problems I mentioned earlier. I'm afraid you may have to go by hoof." said the conductor.

"Oh my. That would take more than a week to get there!" Rarity complained.

"I'm sorry, but unless you can wait a week for the train to come, then you'd have to gallop there."

"I'm sorry girls, but I don't want the place to suffer, you'll have to get there, one way or another."

"Alright," the five ponies said in unison.

"Before we go sir," Twilight added. Her horn started to glow a magenta as she shot the conductor with magic beam. He felt the bags under his eyes disappear as he felt energized. "There, you should be able to keep the train running now."

"Thank you so much! I'm in your debt Princess."

"Come on Spike," Twilight called. Spike simply floated into the train as steam escaped from the train and started moving. Twilight waved to her friends in goodbye as she hoped they can handle their mission.

The hand still had her gripped in an iron fist. The owner of the mysterious hand was still unknown as the couldn't see anything at all. She quit her struggling after a while she had wasted much of her energy, she just had her eyes closed, waiting for the inevitable, she lost hope for escaping as she hoped Shade hadn't followed. The strangest thing was that the fog had no effect on her whatsoever, she pondered at this effect. Before she can think of a conclusion, she was met with the outside world, she got a whiff of air before she was violently thrown into the ground below.

While she was in the air, she caught a glimpse of some kind of cottage outside the forest before making contact with the ground.

Her vision got impaired due to impact, her oxygen supply was currently grasping for more. She never experienced this much pain, it was too much. Getting on all four paws was not being an easy task. She attempted to use her feelers to push herself up, she managed to due so, until she fell again. Through her blurred vision, she saw a tall object as she needed to get a breather. She put her back against it as she relaxed.

Her vision cleared, it was still night time, but the place she was at was very different. The place looked more of a swampy area with a clear path leading to Arceus knows where. Her back was against a rather large tree, she looked more around her for more clues to where she is. The sky looked different than she had remembered, and she doesn't remember there being any sort of swamp nearby, besides the one south of Laverre City

She decided to get moving as she took the path that looked more promising to her, starting to look more like a forest to her. Usually, she would skip and float a bit when she was travelling, however, she felt that this was a major problem so she walked normally as her feelers are at her sides. The sounds of owls and reptiles fill the smoggy air as she started to flinch from the smell. She ignored it and decided to continue on her way. The sounds of the unknown forest starts to get to her as she becomes a lot more paranoid than she is now, picking up the pace.

She feels the wind on her fur as she tried to run as fast as she can through the forest before tripping over the root a tree in her path. Her cream fur was now covered in a muddy layer that would dry if she didn't wash it off.

She couldn't stand the dirt and mud she was sitting in currently. She never battled much, let alone use moves like dig, which can get her very dirty. She used her feelers to try to take off the dirt from around her eyes as she eyed the small, gold object sitting in the mud with her. She felt the area around her neck and realized the object she cherished so much was the object on the ground with the string to keep it around her neck snapped. She slowly moved both her paws over to it as the marshy mud dripped off it. She slowly clicked it open as it showed the photo of her and Shade hand made for the two of them by Embrace's old trainer. It was made soon after she had found her true love.

Shade.

She missed him, and she wanted him to be her side, just like he had promised her. Should he have followed after her kidnapper? If he had, then where was he, and why doesn't she hear anything that says her name? Something could've possibly happened to him, maybe like Sapphire said, pokemon that have entered the fog were said to never emerge again.

Flashback 1: Will you be my mate?

"Are you sure Shade? You want me to go live out there with you? Forever?"

Embrace had been one of Shade's closest friends for several months, his other friends being other Eeveelutions which consisted of three friends: the Sun Pokemon, Espeon, the Verdant Pokemon, Leafeon, and finally, the Intertwining Pokemon, Sylveon.

They were sitting on a park bench in the Sylveon's home town, Shalour City. The night was cold as the dark streets were empty of people. Street light were on as they were sitting under one as well.

Her friend took one last look at the night sky as his blue rings glowed. He then looked back at the fairy type. "I do. I want it more than ever," he said in a tone Embrace was not used to, his voice was full of thought and he put so much effort to making it sound the even more convincing, a rare sight to see. "And maybe, just maybe, we can even have an Eevee together." This took back the Sylveon, she observed her close friend as she decided to ask him a big question.

"How long have you had this burden with you? I've seen you act strangely these past couple weeks we've been out on our play dates." She really wanted to get an answer to why he had wanted to do that.

He let out a small chuckle before turning back to her. "From the day I met you when we were just little Eevee, I thought we would be the best of friends, but I soon found out that it would have been much more, that our friendship would soon turn into something much deeper. Seeing you are one of a kind Embrace; and I don't mean that in just any way, I mean that you are the one that really stands out to me. The day after I realized that you evolved into a Sylveon, I devoted myself to be on the same level of ground as you.

"That's why I had left, to become stronger and evolve. To my surprise, I have evolved into this." He gestured his paws to his body before continuing. "I've gone through a lot from my trip back here. The best place I thought to do my training was the Pokemon Village all the way past the snowy city. I was almost caught once, most likely because of my different coloration than other Umbreons, having blue rings instead of them being yellow. I always thought I was so much different than other Eevees but I didn't give up, I wanted to get back to you as fast as possible. When I got back, I knew you'd be happy, but I didn't tell you about my feelings yet because I thought the feeling wasn't mutual.

"Until it came to this day, I finally got the courage to ask you this one question I've been trying to get off my chest for too long. Do you accept?"

She took in his explanation. He said everything as if he was sharing a cherished memory. To be completely honest, her feelings for Shade were one where she wouldn't feel uncomfortable being in a relationship with him, and to even have an offspring with him, maybe. She admired him, he was a great battler, and was always there to comfort her if she needed him. It was possible that Embrace had the feeling for him all this time. I can't believe this, he finally got the courage to ask me. He really does love me.

"This is a lot to take in Shade. I-I can't be-"

"I-I see," Automatically thinking that she had denied his request. Umbreon's ears hung against his head and his rings stopped glowing. He felt heart broken and shattered for the time. "Maybe I'll drop in early today." Embrace knew she had screwed up, knowing fully that Shade did not take it easily. Before Shade left the bench, Embrace made her move.

Embrace took her feelers and firmly made Umbreon's head face hers. At first he was a bit startled, wandering what she was doing. She closed the distance between their faces by locking her lips with his. For the first few seconds, he wasn't returning the kiss, he was hesitant, but later changed in a couple seconds as he returned it. Their faces were a deep crimson as the Umbreon has his forelegs wrapped around the Sylveon's thighs, and she rested her forelegs around his neck. They were enjoying every last bit of it, they didn't want this to end.

"Well well well, looks like you finally got the guts to do it," the familiar voice commented.

The other Pokemon let out a small chuckle. "Yes, I got to agree with him, even if he is my brother."

They both opened their eyes as they were still having their moment together--when they have discovered their mates. They slowly parted and looked at the Pokemon that intruded.

"Heh, Lily! Psy! So nice to see you guys," Shade gave Psy a wide smile as he returned it as well. The Espeon was his best friend for as long as he can remember. They were even tag team partners once when they had to fight two trainers that had attacked, and caused them to run. Embrace thought they were the best battle partners, because of their synergy. Lily was Psy's little sister, a Leafeon, and when it came to being a brother and sister, Psy always thought he was the dominant sibling. "What brings you guys here? I thought you were back at your den the last time I saw."

Psy walked over to the Umbreon, being followed by Lily, as Psy put his paw on the night colored Pokemon's shoulder. "I knew you could do it, it sure took long enough, I thought you two would be perfect, we were just in the bush over there" Psy said, pointing out the nearby bush big enough for both the siblings.

"I knew those two were perfect for each other way before you big bro. You're so slow on this stuff," Lily intervened.

"Hey! I know Shade from head to paw, like he's my twin brother." Psy and Lily had their foreheads pushed against each other, growling. "I wish you have evolved into a Glaceon instead, that way, I wouldn't have had to nurse you last winter, you just had to choose Leafeon!"

"It fits my name well. You Psychic types are so complicated. At least I don't get headaches when I use Psychic."

"YOU CAN'T EVEN LEARN PSYCHIC YOU IDIO-"

They were both cut off by what looks like a ribbons wrapping over their mouths, both of them still trying to argue with each other, coming out as mumbles. They looked at the Sylveon as she took a deep breath and exhaled. "How about you guys stop arguing for a bit. I'm going to release, and as soon as I do, will you two be quiet?" They both nodded as the ribbon slowly let go of their muzzles. They took one more death glance at each other before turning away from them.

"Anyway, Psy, Lily, what are you guys doing here?" Embrace asked.

"Oh that's easy," Lily piped up. "Shady told us ahead of time he would tell his feelings in this exact spot. So we thought we would come here to see if your boyfriend asked you and was successful. We got here, saw you guys kissing, then wanted to congratulate you two."

"Can you please not call me that? Especially around... you know who," Umbreon said, blushing a little.

"Well, I already beat her to it," Psy bloated. Lily shot a glare at her before talking again.

"Anyway, I was hoping you guys wanted to come to our place! We got tons of berries, like Oran berries, pecha, sitrus, and more. Just to celebrate this occasion."

"Sounds great!" Embrace and Shade responded in unison. They started to follow the siblings as Embrace had one of her feelers lightly wrapped around Shade's foreleg. They stared into each others eyes as the Moonlight pokemon started.

"Embrace."

"Yes Shade?"

"From this day, till the day I die, I promise, I will always be by your side, and if we were to ever have the Eevee I mentioned, I will help take great care for it. Embrace, thank you for helping me complete my life." He started crying with tears of joy, she was happy to lend him the perfect life. However, she felt as if she needed to know some more about his background.

"Shade, I would love to see your parents," Embrace asked. He froze, as if she said something wrong. He was hesitant, but he still wanted to provide an answer to her.

"Well, my mother was a Jolteon, and... well, she was in love with a Vaporeon. I thought those two would never be compatible, but it happened." Normally, the parents of many Eevees would usually be a paired with another eeveelution that doesn't have a type type compatibility with them, but Embrace didn't mind at all.

"I wish I new about my real parents, but my trainer was like my mother, but every pokemon has to move out on their own, and that day is today for me."

"I'm sorry I'm letting you leave your trainer Embrace, you can reconsider this if you wish."

"No no no, Shade," Embrace said, shaking her head. "I would love to go with you, I just wonder how she will take this."

End of Flashback

After hours of cleaning herself off of the dirt she was covered in, and having the string of her necklace knotted so it stayed around her neck, she decided to continue on the path. She needed to look for civilization, or some place she can take shelter in. She needed to find somewhere to take shelter as the night wind was getting even more cold, she shivered as she saw an opening up ahead. She smiled widely as she picked up the pace, finally going to be out of the weird forest.

But something stopped her.

A disgusting smell got to her head as she flinched, it smelled just like several Muk and Garbodar were pushed into one room for everyone to smell. She slowly turned around to see what was there. There, she was met with a pair of glowing green eyes. She hopped back a great distance to look at the creature.

The thing was made of wood, and its breath was the source of the nose burning smell. It was almost like the combination she was weak to: a Grass/Poison type. But she didn't know if this was really the Pokemon world now. She slowly backed away as it started to growl at her, baring its sharp, wooden teeth. It had twigs with a leaf attached to them that probably served as their ears. Its eyebrows were decayed leaves which looked like it has been eaten away by some bugs.

It let out a howl, one to send chills down anyone's spines. She knew what was happening, and she didn't want it to happen at all. She had to run, as fast as she can. Because it was calling its pack. Before she can run, she heard more footsteps, rushing to the scene.

She soon found herself surrounded with the wooden wolves, staring at her as they were going to start feasting. She couldn't move, and she didn't want to move, she thought she was gone. The wolves pounced, teeth ready to get into her, she was going to die soon if she hadn't did anything. Her skills as a battler were mediocre, meaning that it wasn't good enough to beat everything. She was treated more like a daughter, a pet when she was under ownership. She wasn't ready for this.

All of a sudden, sharpened stones started to rain the air, hurting the creatures. Embrace looked up to see a shadow and the user of that stone edge, but it had wings, as the wolves turned their attention to the attacker. The silhouette finally revealed itself as it landed in front of Embrace, taking an offensive stance against their attackers, as the white fur was a dead give away to the pokemon's identity.

"Sapphire?!"

Chapter 2: The Deal

View Online

Embrace's eyes were stuck to the pokemon defending her, his tail had gotten much sharper, he had much more fur than regular Absol. His claws have grown longer, like they could cut through anything. His horn on the right of his head looked much wider, making it look more rounded, but there was another horn protruding from the other side of his head. The most different part of him was the pair of wings he had grew, but she wasn't sure if he could actually fly.

"Sapphire?!" Embrace exclaimed, bewildered.

His red eyes looked at the Eeveelution for a second. "Can you fight?" he asked.

"F-fight? I... I can't fight. I don't want to," she pleaded. Reasons of her fear of battling were currently unknown to Sapphire. He wanted to persuade her at the moment she refused, until a one of the wolves pounced at her. It was attacking from behind, as Embrace was unaware of its attack. He had to save his energy from using Sucker punch, as it is one of the strongest moves in his arsenal, he instead resorted to his attacks he learned, mostly for the fact he can start a fire when needed. He took a breath in, feeling the building heat form in his mouth, then released it at the attacking wolf. Embrace, lucky for her, saw this coming as she ducked, after the attack was done, she was going to yell at him. But instead, she heard a whimper from something behind her as she looked to see what happened, she saw a pile of ashed behind her.

"If you're not going to battle, get somewhere safe, I need to drive these creatures away, and I know these aren't pokemon." His voice was stern as he was saying in a serious fashion, as he was really worried for her.

"Where's Shade?" she asked hastily.

"YOU NEED TO RUN!" he commanded, as he saw another wolf pounce him, just to slash its body with one swipe of its claws. She wanted to get an answer, but the Absol figured it wasn't the best time for twenty questions to take place. Embrace's blue eyes fell upon the wolf that tackled the Disaster pokemon, trying to bite at his head. She had to do something, another decision killing her from the inside out. She had to either run, or save him. She couldn't just leave him, then she would have to go through guilt of leaving someone, which she had already committed. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" as the wolf bit his foreleg. He winced in pain, but stayed strong. The other ones were just watching, as it was just a one-on-one situation.

She had to help, she shook her head, she needed to fight, to save a friend. She extended her feelers as she crossed them to form some energy as it turned into a pink orb. She learned this upon evolving, but never used it due to her strafing away from battles. It was released onto the wolf on top of Sapphire as it looked at it in surprise, letting out a pained whine. It rolled to the side, where the other wolves were as it got up to growl at its attacker.

"I won't let you die Sapphire. I won't be a coward," Embrace told him. To her surprise, he smiled at her, as he got up to his four legs. His leg was bleeding as part of his fur was stained from the sticky blood.

"I came here because I don't want Shade's life to be ruined, just because he lost you Embrace," Sapphire replied. "I'm here to undo that by saving you."

"I'll make sure you complete that goal."

"Well, be careful, I won't let you die today." He really didn't want Shade to be saw again, plus, he really acted like a real father. Right now, she wondered if she would even get the chance as the wolves pounced at the two.

"Tell me Twilight Sparkle, how has it been being a princess?"

"You don't have to call me by my full name Princess Luna, I don't feel that comfortable with ponies doing that," Twilight added as she released her tea cup. They were currently in Twilight's room, sitting at the table on her balcony that overlooked Canterlot.

"Has thy sister told thee about sight scenes?"

"No, should I know about it? Am I supposed to read about it!? Where is the book Luna!? I need to-" her ranting as stopped a blue aura wrapping around her muzzle.

"No, sight scenes are only available to alicorns, and they aren't written in any kind of scroll, books, or anything for that matter, Twilight." Twilight nodded as the magic released her. "You should be ready to learn about this, first of all, have you experienced any strange dreams lately?"

"Not that I know of," she responded.

"Well, let me quickly explain this to you, they are special dreams that we have that are very occasional to happen, which are actually visions in other places. But my sister has experienced many, many times in her life. I dislike this very much, as some of them can cause you pain that carries on to when you're awake," she shuddered as she continued, "It's what caused me to morph into Nightmare moon. I suffered the pain from what tried to take me over, even when I denied his deal."

"Deal?" Twilight questioned.

"It's the true cause behind my rebellion against Celestia. I tried to stop him, but he consumed me and controlled what he did in the looks of me. He looked at me with thy blue, emotionless eyes, his body emitted an evil aura, and just by looking at him, he wanted something. He threatened me to destroy thy own kingdom by taking the thing that our world needed: the sun."

"Does Celestia know about this?"

"...No, she doesn't."

"What?! Why not," Twilight slammed both hooves onto the coffee table, standing from her seating pillow.

"I was scared, to have make thing even worse, he demonstrated one of his works from a world opposite of ours, what he could do to them in the blink of an eye. He would do that exact thing if I told a soul about him," Luna shook her head of her stupidity. "I'm talking too much, go to sleep Twilight Sparkle. You need to go to a meeting tomorrow, you need to rest." Twilight was about to object, but Luna was right. Her moon was already at the top of the sky, and Spike was sleeping soundly. Luna was already leaving her bedroom, not wanting to talk anymore.

Twilight sighed as she walked over to the balcony outside. The night sky was calm with a soft wind wafting through the air. She took in a deep breath as she looked back at Spike in his basket-bed. "I wonder what my first sight scene would be," she said to herself. She walked toward the baby dragon as she gave him a kiss on the forehead. She tucked herself into bed, finally being able to keep her wings against her body when she sleeps after a major tutorial by Rainbow dash. She laughed at the time, but was finally able to get to sleep.

Her eyes opened to a dark fog around her, seeing a forest around her, but not one like the one in the Everfree forest. It seemed too nice for it. She walked forward, with nothing else much to do. She looked to her left to see a tree with a big dent in it, being noteworthy was the size of it. She realized this made her mind too focused on it as she heard talking.

"Give me back the Pokemon I love," a voice said in anger. A chuckle came afterwords.

"Trust me my dear Umbreon, I did not do it," another voice said, but sounded like it was in her head.

She looked around to find the conversing ponies, she was thinking that the air around the area would be bad, but she wasn't being affected by it in anyway. She looked up to a tree branch to see a small, grass-weaved basket hanging on it. The contents contained different colored berries with blue, pink, and pale fruits. She was about to help herself to some as she looked in front of the bush, which caused her to hide behind the tree.

What was currently in view, there was a canine like animal in the fog. It had blue rings around its ears and one around its tail. Its eyes were gold as it also had a ring on the center of its forehead.

In front of it, it was something big, and was bird-like creature. Its eyes were emotionless blue, its wings were very broad with its tail looking very identical to its wings. Its red body almost seemed to radiate a dark aura, strong enough for Twilight to feel it from where she was. For some reason, her head was aching.

"What are you here for?" the canine asked, standing like he was going to attack.

"That is not of your concern you impudent Umbreon," the bird said. This seemed to anger the canine as it did something Twilight didn't expect, a ball of shadow formed at its mouth as it fired it at the bird. "Pathetic," it said before lifting one of its wings up as it collided with it. There was a large cloud of smoke that had formed in the area, the bush beside her rustled as she braced herself from the shock wave.

"What's going on here?!" Twilight whispered to herself. Everything felt real to her, the ground she's standing on, the air she's breathing, everything. She looked to see the large bird standing on the ground with its mighty talons, showing no signs of injury.

"BRING HER BACK TO ME!" the one called Umbreon yelled. He then got ready to shoot another one of his attacks at him, but instead of letting the monstrosity of a bird block it, it opened its mouth and fired a blue orb that was much bigger than the Umbreon's attack. When the two collided, it was not long before the ball of blue energy dispersed the ball of shadows and towards the canine. Twilight's eyes widened as the smaller animal stood there, ready to take it, with the size comparison being three times its size. Another huge explosion followed soon after, sending Twilight back a little. She was losing her footing, but she put her back against the tree.

This world was violent, where, from Twilight's perspective, was wrong with her. She wanted to forget this and go home. The explosion was still rocking her ears as she was covering her ears with her eyes shut tight. This was nothing like home, from what she had just heard from their small conversation, something was taken away from the Umbreon. She assumed that it was a male due to the fact it may have been looking for the one he loves from what she heard.

The smoke finally cleared as she peaked over to see what happened. The Umbreon's silhouette was seen, and it was still standing. His blue rings glowed and his gold eyes intensified with anger.

"B-bring her b-back," he stuttered. Twilight managed to catch a glimpse of it, but the thing cried. More tears came from his eyes as his legs cannot hold him up anymore, when he finally collapsed.

With Twilight being the Princess of friendship, she couldn't just watch, she had to do something. She was about to run toward the bird that had just 'killed' the animal, but she felt something around her abdomen. It was a shadowy claw of some sorts that had grabbed her. When she looked to where it led, it from one of the wings that the bird stabbed into the ground with.

"You've been watching for a while, haven't you, Twilight Sparkle," the thing addressed her. Twilight didn't want to talk back to it, he stared at the animal the thing just seemed murder in cold blood. He brought the pony closer to his head, as the shadowy claw just seemed to tighten its grip. "Hope you didn't see much." Twilight had to escape from his grip, she let her horn glow a violet aura, readying to teleport away. But before it could happen, its eyes grew a much light blue as the princess's body was surrounded in a blue aura. She flinched from this, but continued to channel. The dark-red bird just stood there with the claw made of shadows still in its grip. Her mind was blown for now, because her channel had suddenly stopped. She stared at the thing in disbelief, being able to disable her magic just now.

"What... what are you?" she asked cowardly.

"Maybe I should ask you, how's Luna?"

Twilight's mind reeled back to where she had her conversation with Luna. Her description about him fitted him completely: emotionless, blue eyes, and the aura he emitted felt evil after all. She wanted to attack him right now for what he had done to Luna, but she had told her that he was capable of doing evil deeds with more power than Celestia herself. She decided to keep the 'I won't forgive you for manipulating Luna' part out of the conversation.

"Why would you want to know?" Twilight responded with a hint of anger in her voice. She did not want to carry the conversation on with this monster.

"I like where this is going, little Princess. First, let me introduce myself, I am the being known as Yveltal," the bird said with finesse. Though he may have looked pretty evil on the outside, he seemed like a real gentle-colt, if Twilight can even call him one. "It has been oh-so-long since I last saw her, been a couple-thousand years."

"I doubt you even have any connection with her, so there is no point," Twilight said with a smirk on her face. But she soon regretted it, as the shadow around her grew to the point it was around her face. Yveltal did something unexpected as he made the shadow slash a small cut into Twilight's cheek. She flinched from this as she winced a little in pain. It wasn't very deep, but blood came out, indicating that the creature gave her a warning.

"Watch it Twilight Sparkle, or I may as well make it deeper," he threatened. Twilight had grown somewhat careless around Yveltal, being able to anger him to the point of harming her.

"Fine, she's doing alright. She's still trying to fit in a little after what happened."

"I see, I hope the scar I created for her wasn't too much," he said with a chuckle.

Twilight knew it.

"You... you made her into Nightmare moon, didn't you?"

"Not exactly, you could say I just gave her a slight push," Yveltal said with the sound of a devilish plan in it.

"Why would you do that?!" Twilight cried, her tears mixing with her blood.

"Like Luna had told you, it was a deal." Yveltal responded. Twilight remembered what Luna said about the deal. He threatened her to do something or else something would've happened to Equestria. She did not want to know what would happen if the deal was broken. "I had specifically told her that if she were to tell anybody in that world of hers with great importance that there would be consequences. And may Arceus help you Twilight Sparkle, you better have plans."

Twilight gulped as she was literally cowering in fear. "You can't do this," she said in a volume as low as her friend Fluttershy's voice.

"Yes I can Twilight Sparkle," he said as the shadowy claw was right under her eyes. She closed her eyes as she waited for another slash to make another wound on her face, but instead, all it did was dry of some tears that were on her face. "However, I am willing to make a deal with YOU."

This took her by complete surprise. Make a deal? Was he nuts? Twilight's mind was throwing many curve balls at her left and right. First, he acts like a gentle creature, despite his menacing looks. Second, he had threatened her by putting a gash in her face, which was a sign of no joking around. And finally, he wipes off her tears.

"What's your deal?" she said in a serious tone. He saw Yveltal smile as he lightened his grip on her, letting her breath more easily, but was still enough for her to stay trapped.

"Good."

He suddenly released his grip around her completely for her to fall to the ground. He was expecting for her to land on all fours, but she comically face panted into the ground. He chuckled, but not loud enough for Twilight to hear this. The alicorn realized that she had landed beside the unconscious creature. Its bruises were very severe. He had open wounds that made it look the even more uglier. And his blue rings were just barely flashing. She quickly got up to her hooves as she freaked out.

"What is that?!" she said in a panic. "And why did you kill it?!"

"Don't get your feathers in a knot Princess, that's an Umbreon, one of the many different Pokemon in this world," he answered, calming Twilight down a little. "And it's not dead, I held back my real power, just so I don't kill him. Our deal will involve him."

"What do you want me to do with a canine?"

"Trust me, this is no 'canine' of what you say. I may as well explain to you what your dealing with, since I am well aware that you have a lust for knowledge." And so Yveltal had explained everything he could muster up from how pokemon works, all the know pokemon in the world, and how some of them are even gods.

"Pokemon, huh? So what you're saying is that you want me to do is to take this Pokemon under my wing so I can train it in battling?"

"Exactly, let me tell you some background about him. He's a male, his name is Shade, loves to battle, and if you saw earlier, he was looking for his love."

"And who's this love he's looking for?"

"That will not be playing much of a role here, because I will be removing the memory he had that keeps him from battling efficiently. Keep him within Canterlot grounds as it will be best to train there. Tell him that he was born to fight in a death battle against another pokemon in your world with the name Flare." Yveltal had made this deal more complicated than Twilight had hoped for. "If he wins that battle, I will leave your world alone, along with Shade so you won't have to worry about him anymore."

"And what if this 'Flare' wins the battle against Shade?" Twilight asked.

"Then I will continue with my plan to harm your world, the one I said when Luna broke her deal."

Twilight's eye twitched. This was all really intense to handle, she never knew that she would have to train the memory-empty pokemon to fight a death battle. But she had no choice, if she had declined Equestria would be destroyed.

"When will this take place?"

"It will take place in my dimension where the battle will take place in approximately 2 months. Hear my words Twilight Sparkle, and do not take them for granted, I am real serious when it comes to deals."

"Alright, I accept your deal."

"Good, when you wake up, I will deliver Shade to you." Twilight had forgotten, she was asleep.

Twilight woke up with bullets falling from her forehead. She looked outside to saw dawn breaking from the mountains. She felt her cheek to feel the cut she had gotten was not present. She gave a sigh of relief as she went to her bathroom to look at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were red, her mane was messy, and her feathers were not preened very well. She may as well get ready for the morning as she combed her mane, preened her feathers, brushed her teeth, and washed her eyes of any crust that formed. Nothing could ruin her day, or so she thought.

Until she heard flapping outside.

She froze as it sounded like a huge pair of wings were actually outside. She walked outside of her bathroom to see the same creature waiting outside. She opened both doors to come eye to eye with Yveltal.

"Hope you slept well," Yveltal said with a smile.

"Don't count on it," Twilight said in a grumpy mood. Until she saw the black pokemon on Yveltal's back, she knew what she had to do. She tried to use her magic to get him off, but the aura that had wrapped around him disappeared instantly.

"I forgot to mention, your magic is very similar to psychic-types in my world, causing it to just dissipate," Yveltal said, as he got on his talons with a graceful landing. He turned around for the Umbreon to slide of his back and onto the balcony.

"I'm only doing this just so you don't attack us, for the fate of Equestria."

"Good to see that, you may as well get him patched up, that last attack I hit him with was super-effective." Twilight had remembered about type-advantages and type-disadvantages when Yveltal had explained to her about his world. "If you have any questions, ask them now."

"Who was Shade looking for?"

"I'm sorry, but that is classified until further notification," Yveltal answered with a smug look on his face. His eyes turned even more blue as a grass-weaved basket appeared from behind him in a blue aura floating towards Twilight, where she took it in her own magic. "The soil here is quite fertile, I recommend planting these berries in the garden down there. I know Shade loves these berries." Twilight had remembered the berries, it was the same basket that hung on that one tree she was close to.

"Alright, Yveltal, see you in 2 months."

"Looking forward to it." With that he flew off, where a portal formed with him going into it, then disappeared.

She looked at the basket, then at Shade. She had a lot of work to do, as she brought both the Pokemon and basket inside.

Chapter 3: A Story of a Certain Move

View Online

With the many timber wolves reduced to nothing but twigs and ashes, with the exception of one running away, the two Pokemon were finally able to find the quietness they needed in the air. Sapphire's body was covered in ashes, burnt leaves, and other junk that was on his coat. Sapphire ensured that was no more threats around as he reverts back to his regular form. He glows blue as he loses some of the fur that made him look as if he had wings as he was just a regular Absol now. The mega stone that was in his possession fell to the ground in front of him. He grabbed it and placed it into his thick fur.

He turned to see Embrace exhausted, her feelers being extremely limp at her side, and she looked as if she was about to pass out. She was very bruised, and a few scratches here and there, she was limp and was staring at her body in shock. She found herself lying down below a tree, resting her sore body as she laid her head on her forelegs. Sapphire decided to walk to her side and sit on his stomach beside her.

"What do you fight for Sapphire? I know Shade does it for his pride, but what about you?" Embrace asked. Her feelers were laying on the ground in front of her, looking at the dirt and grime they have collected. They were made from a very fine silk, she always kept them clean at all time. "I always thought battling was just a way of suicide, until I met Shade. He always seemed to enjoy battling, and was always a good sport about it."

"I'm different from Shade," Sapphire responded. He shuffled a bit before looking back at his mega stone. "I battle to protect ones that I love, and ones that are helpless. Most Absols are carnivores, but I managed through a couple berries a day. The reason I went through the fog to save you was... to keep Shade happy." Embrace looked at him with her blue eyes, she had never thought about it. Before she could ask why, she started shivering. The Absol took notice as she moved her limbs closer to her body.

"Thank you for caring about him, you really are a good father," she added, still trying to get over the cold. "I-I really worry about him, thinking he goes into battles without thinking. I-I'm s-so cold."

"It's probably because," he looked up at the night sky and figured out what was happening. "It feels like fall, and if the weather here is the same as in Kalos, then winter may be coming. Just stay tight Embrace, and I'll get a fire going." Sapphire got up as he went into the woods, probably to get some wood.

Embrace was all alone now, staring upon the destruction of strange, wooden creatures before her. She had never thought that these kind of creatures existed. They had a terrible breath which was the source of the stench earlier, and their gaze was petrifying. She had thought they were just mightyenas wearing wood all over their bodies, but the hint that they weren't was the fact that they fell apart right when they were attacked with great impact of some sort.

She moved her paw to her neck to see if her necklace was okay, checking to see if the photo was smudged, missing, or it was fine. Her eyes widened as the only thing she felt was her fur. She swung her head to see that it wasn't on her. She quickly got to her paws, but her body attempted to reject the action, but she still did. She scanned the area with worry on her face. She had her head just above the ground as she was looking even more harder. Expecting to see a golden pendant on the ground beside burnt wood, she saw nothing. Embrace was starting to panic as she did not want to lose it. She took her feelers as she felt the ground beside her to see if she could grab it, under every twig, rock, and truck she looked, it wasn't there.

The pendant was very important to her, just as it was to its previous owner, her trainer. Embrace had seen it every since she first hatched from her egg. She was the first person Embrace ever saw, and she was smiling as she lowered to pick her up. The pendant around her neck interested her as she had pawed at it, receiving a laugh from her. It was probably one of the most vivid memories she had ever had with her trainer. She wore it everywhere she went, when she went to play with Embrace, went to the Pokemart with Embrace at her side, and when they watched Rhydon races together. She was pampered greatly as an Eevee, until she had evolved, she was treated more like a teen, often going missing. This was due to the fact of her visiting Shade and the rest of his friends.

"I'm back," a familiar voice said, coming out of the woods with stacks of wood on his back. He saw her scurrying across the ground, having confusion roll across his face. "May I ask what are you doing?" He placed the stacks of wood on the ground as he looked back at her.

"I'm looking for my pendant, I can't lose it!" she yelled, really sounding worried. Sapphire knew what she was talking about, but he needed to set up the fire. He started using stone edge, once the stones appeared, he let them fall harmlessly to the ground. He took some of them, put them around in a circle, and put the wood into the center of it. He took in a deep breath and let flames come out of his mouth. The wood instantly ignited as it created a nice fire to keep anything warm.

"What's special about it?" Sapphire asked, sounding stupid in the process.

"What's special about?! It reminds me of my trainer. It also has a picture of Shade and me in it. And you're expecting me to just forget about?!" Embrace ranted. "That thing is as close to me as it is my heart."

Sapphire sighed as he looked around, to see the moon still high in the sky. "Just sit down Embrace, I'll tell you some stuff." She was hesitant, but she was obligated to let her body rest. "I think I know why Shade isn't here." This seemed to activate some interest in her.

"W-why Shade isn't here?" she exclaimed, eye widened.

"It's cause of what pulled you in here, you know, the thing that looked like a shadow claw," he explained. "Tell me, you've known Shade since you met him as an Eevee right?"

"Yes, he had told me he wanted to train to be the strongest pokemon in his forest."

She received a chuckle from Sapphire as he vividly remembered a thought. "Yes, when I took him in, his worries just seemed to disappear. I was quite proud of myself. It's because of me, he saw me as a role-model of a battler."

"I thank you for making him such a happy pokemon." Embrace had always seen Shade in a happy mood, if not the happiest. The only time she saw him different was when they first discovered their true love, when he was acting all uncomfortable. That was the time when Embrace saw him act differently, the rest, boastful, friendly, and proud of his capabilities.

"All I did was provide him was a home, and a father to love. No more, no less. However, Shade didn't have the chance to have a mother for the rest of his life." Embrace looked at him with a bit of concern, since he is now considered family to her. "You see, I was on my way to the place where I would see my first mate. He just seemed to be between point A and point B."

"Your first mate?

"Actually, I did. We were great friends, I would help lookout for her pack, as she was the leader of it. We decided we may as well have a kit together. And the last time I saw, it was still an egg."

"Where were you settled?"

"Nearby a town with a waterfall." As the fire continued to crackle, she saw him shed a tear. "I committed a sin for leaving her like that. I only left her because if I were to bring Shade, she would think I just brought back food. All I wanted was the kid to be free of any burden staying with me."

"You're extremely kind hearted Sapphire, I would love to know how you found him, I want to hear the whole story."

He wiped his tears away as he looked at the bonfire, the fire was dwindling to a smaller shape as he added more wood to it, then used flame thrower more. The fire returned to its beginning size as he made eye contact with Embrace. "Well, it started like this..."

Flashback 2: Silver in the Rain.

An Absol walks through the heavy rain as it soaks his alabaster fur. He was called to come to his mate's pack for a special hunting season. He was going to help hunt down small pokemon like Bunnelby, zigzagoon, and other small animals they can find. It was also for the several amount of eggs that were about to hatch, which also needed to be kept warm due to the wind bringing in more cold than the little ones can handle.

Abigail was her name, she acted much like a leader. Sapphire was part of her pack as he had always admired her, as he was also considered to be her left paw. Turned out that she had a crush on Sapphire as well. They had talked, and eventually became mates at one point. Their egg was still in its own area where it stayed incubated, and being watched by Abigail herself. An Absol like herself was also a great battler, mostly preferring duelling.

What Sapphire really excelled at was being able to fight multiple foes at once, have learned moves such as stone edge to be able to hit multiple enemies. He preferred this fighting style due to being able to take out large packs of small creatures that were worth fighting.

He had his own den away from the packs as he was planning on making another before the next morning. His old den was full of the small animal's skeletons. He wasn't one to clean up much after himself, so instead, he resorts to making new dens each month. Due to the fact of being unable to use the move, Dig, he uses his night slash to extend his claws and slash into the ground.

Through the rain, he heard something very faint, but knew what it was.

Someone was crying.

He looked around through the thick and heavy rain to see the source of it, maybe some little Ratata or a Bidoof. He looked through the trees to see a fallen log and the trunk it was on, probably tipped over due to some pokemon's attack. He walked toward the area to look through the fallen log.

His eyes were widened as he saw a crying silver Eevee.

Sapphire could tell that it was a male through the mumbles it was making; and how hard the crying was. His silver coat was drenched in water, his was sniffling - which could've been from the crying or from getting cold in the rain. His bushy tail was very messy as his tears mixed with the ice-cold rain. Sapphire knew that it would've made a great meal for his mate, but something stopped him, he looked at the Absol for a split second before returning to crying.

"I k-know about your pack. J-just please eat me if you w-want," the Eevee stuttered, still shivering. Sapphire had a heart, there was a sense of empathy for the little Eevee. He remembered this exact situation happened to him before. When he had broke into tears during a blizzard; freezing pass his thin fur when his fur was still growing out waiting for his parents to find him. He was always extremely playful until he had started to mature and had taking battling to the next level. "I j-just want my p-parents back." He pitied the Eevee, he can't just go out of his and bring him back to his pack, an act showing that he was heartless. He sighed as he brought his head lower to meet eyes with him.

"Let's see if we can fix that," Sapphire said with a smile. The Eevee looked at him with widened eyes as Sapphire looked at him more intently. Sapphire had believed that the little Eevee had much untapped potential. "My name is Sapphire, what's yours?"

"HEY! SAPPHIRE!" a voice intruded. Sapphire cursed himself as he looked at the incoming Absol running towards him. Night was more of a nussiance to Sapphire than an actual pack member to him.

"Get deeper into the log Eevee," Sapphire warned, where the Eevee was happy to do what he said.

"Sapphire, storms getting much more intense, we have to get pack with the pack, the eggs may not have a chance to hatch," Night exclaimed. "Did you find any food on the way?"

Sapphire had to lie. "No, I didn't, guess all the pokemon around here are hiding."

"Well, that really sucks," Night said, irritated due to the heavy rain and not finding food. "What's that smell?" Night started sniffling the air as his nose was directed to the log Sapphire was beside.

"What do you smell?" Sapphire asked nervously, hoping that it wouldn't be the Eevee he smelled.

"It's been a while since I had Eevee, they are certainly rare sight to see. And boy they are good," Night said licking his lips. Sapphire faintly heard the Eevee gulp. "And I'm sure... it's right. HERE!" With that, his claws grew and glowed purple as he slashed the log in half, revealing the silver Eevee.

The Eevee whimpered as Night bite at the little pokemon's tail within his teeth.

"Perfect," he said through his teeth, with the Eevee struggling. "Would you like to do the honours of finishing it so we wouldn't have to deal with it on the way back?" Sapphire looked at the Eevee looking at him with big eyes. He walked toward Night still holding it.

"Sure," Sapphire agreed, startling the Eevee. He looked at the Eevee and winked, signalling him he was not going to kill him. He got his claws held to his face as shadows started to form around them. Night looked at him with a look a confusion.

"Come on Sapphire, you know Eevees are normal types until they evolve, why are you using Shadow claw?"

A smirk grew across Sapphire's face. "Cause I'm not attacking him, and he's not going to be a meal today!" Sapphire said with one swift, upward slash. The claw went right through the Eevee's body as it was a ghost to him, and across Night's face, where he held his eyes in pain. The Eevee, dropped to the mud below as he scrambled behind Sapphire's foreleg.

"What the HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Night snapped in agony. He looked at Sapphire as he noticed the Eevee behind his legs as blood crossed his eyes.

"What I was told once, do what you think is right, and do it. That's what I'm doing." Night growled at him fiercly as Sapphire was smirking at him. Without another word, Night dashed at him with a quick attack in complete rage as Sapphire stood there, calm and collective. Just as he got close, he pushed the Eevee away, just far enough away from the battle that may happen. With one swift movement, Sapphire dodged the attack as he extended his claw across Night's neck.

This was the first step to Sapphire's rebellion against his own pack and mate as blood has been drew among his own brothers. Night's body slid across the ground past him and into the tree, now motionless.

Dead.

Sapphire was well aware of the crime he had committed will get him kicked out of the pack to be shunned, but he had planned ahead of time. He looked back at the Eevee who had a scared look, tears forming in his eyes. Sapphire walked toward the silver Eevee as he lowered his head for them to make eye contact.

"It's over little guy," Sapphire whispered softly as the rain started to go away. The Eevee ran towards Sapphire as he ran on Sapphire's head, giving it a hug. Sapphire grabbed him carefully in his forelegs, careful not to cut him with his claws, and hugging him as he cried into his fur. "It's over." The rain settled down to a drizzle as the sun was breaking the clouds.

"W-what about you're pack Sapphire? Won't they be mad?" the Eevee said.

"Of course they will, that's why I'm already leaving them. That reminds me, want to come live with me? I'm going to a different area so they can't find me."

The Eevee's eyes became wider as more tears leaked out, making him hug tighter. "C-can we go to the Pokemon center first?"

"Sure."

Sapphire talk the Eevee in his mouth and put him on his back, smiling at him before heading to the Pokemon Center nearby. This was quite unusual for the Absol as he never goes to civilizations, as many people thought he was dangerous. The nurse joy there was startled from the encounter, but knew what the Absol wanted as she had saw the sleeping Eevee on his back. She was happy to help out the Eevee as it was currently in the Resting room for pokemon that have recently been ill of the sort.

Nurse joy had just finished up helping Eevee as she let the Absol see him, leaving the two alone soon after.

"How you feeling?" Sapphire asked first.

"Well, better than before, th-that's for sure," the Eevee responded. He looked at Sapphire before looking at his paws. "That move you used back there, it scares me, so, so much." Sapphire had assumed that it was the Shadow claw he used before.

"What's wrong with it?"

Silence rained the room as the Eevee shuffles in the bed. "It's what killed my mommy," the Eevee managed to say, trying to suck up the emotional pain. Sapphire remembers him saying he wants to his parents again, this made Sapphire consider a decision.

"You know, I was thinking," Sapphire said. "I was thinking if you wanted me to adopt you." The Eevee's eyes were baffled at Sapphire's remark. Instead of tears of sadness back there, he had tears of joy as he hopped into Sapphire's forelegs.

"I will daddy," Eevee said as he looked up at him. "I will." Sapphire felt his heart explode as he returned the hug to his new son.

"Say," Sapphire inquired. "You still haven't told me your name son."

He only received a smile instead of an answer. "That's your job, you're suppose to name your children daddy!" His son exclaimed with happiness. Sapphire gave it some thought as he knew about the many forms Eevee can evolve into with many different methods to get to them. He wanted to see his son to be an Umbreon as it was a dark-type such as himself.

"How does 'Shade' sound?" Sapphire suggested, unsure of the name.

"Sounds great daddy!" As Shade hugged him even harder, now being his official son.

"So that's what happened, I sinned by killing one of my own brothers," Sapphire admitted. "Which may also be the reason why Shade isn't here with us, cause of that exact attack. Before I entered the fog, his face was the exact same when I did the opposite of eating him."

"But wait, if you were a carnivore, than how did you not eat him during the time you were with him?" Embrace asked.

"It was hard, but I was able to turn over a new leaf to be a herbivore. Was hard, but I managed, I did it for Shade."

"You have a real heart to change your whole life style for your own son. I couldn't do that, even if you helped me."

Sapphire couldn't believe what he was feeling as he felt his face go red. "Well, he is Shade, and he gets the benefits I can make. It's not a question of can or can't. There are some things in life you just do." Embrace seemed to take this into much account, seeing how Sapphire seemed to be very mature of his actions. Sapphire took notice that Embrace seemed to be wobbling a bit. "You okay Embrace?" Sapphire asked.

"I'm... I'm f-fine," she mumbled as she had her head on the ground, snoring. Sapphire knew it would be tiring for non-nocturnal pokemon to stay awake at this time, though the sun was rising slowly. He looked around to see if he could find something to eat, hoping something edible.

Twilight didn't know what to do, Yveltal was most likely knows more than he's letting on, and this was concerning.

Twilight was already wiping away the dried blood in Shade's fur as she soon wrapped bandages around his body and legs so he can recover somewhat faster. Before the moon fell below the mountains, his blue rings gave off a glow before dying down. She inspected his legs, seeing that none of them were broken. He only had seemed to experience external injuries, no broken bones or ripped muscles.

"Twilight?" a voice called from the door. She swung her head to see Luna, already having taken notice of the Umbreon. Twilight desperately tried to hide her activities.

"Oh hey Luna! It's not like I have some kind of pokemon behind me or anything!" she said quickly and nervously. But Luna wasn't stupid, and Twilight was well aware of that. She sighed in defeat as she moved away from the Pokemon. "Just say it Luna."

Her eyes were trained on the Umbreon before her. Twilight had done a real good job patching him up as all its wounds seemed to be tended to. Luna sighed as she went back to the coffee table they were discussing at last night.

"I'm sorry Twilight." Luna's voice was different, her royal canterlot voice was absent. Twilight had remembered what Yveltal had told her. She was expecting her to be all mad at her, instead, she was apologizing. "It's cause of my actions, thy assignment has been put upon your shoulders."

I had specifically told her that if she were to tell anybody in that world of hers with great importance that there would be consequences. And may Arceus help you Twilight Sparkle, you better have plans.

"Please Luna, don't be so hard on yourself," Twilight comforted, sitting across from her, leaving Shade on her bed. "If I didn't accept his deal, he would have destroyed all of Equestria."

Luna sniffed. "I'm well aware of that. I'm pretty sure you know the rest, on how he told you that he was the cause."

"Yes, I asked him myself. Luna, he seemed to be... manipulative."

"How so?"

"Well, in that dream, he acted like a gentlecolt, but then he hurt me by putting a scare on my face," Twilight responded, feeling the area where he had created the scar. "But he acted like a close friend as he wiped away my tear. I thought he was trying to get me on his bad side."

Luna seemed to know everything already, as she really knew Yveltal as a friend. "Yveltal..." she whispered, shuddering at the thought. "I was never a big fan of him, I feel ill around him. He was here this morning wasn't he?" Twilight felt her coat tighten as she did not want Luna to have known about.

"Yes, he delivered him to me," Twilight said, pointing at the pokemon on her bed. "Told me to train him for an incoming battle that would decide our fate." Twilight laid her head on her hooves in disappointment.

"I see," Luna said simply, before walking toward the pokemon. She inspected him with her ocean-colored eyes. Her horn started to glow as she brought it down towards the ring on Shade's head. As her horn made contact, Shade's body stirred as Luna lifted her horn away from him as it looked as he was about to wake. "I've seen that many pokemon don't seem to understand humans back in their own world. Or maybe it was the other way around? Regardless, I put a translation spell on him so you will be able to understand him, along with rejuvenation spell so we can get his heart pumping a bit faster."

"How much you know about these 'pokemon' Luna?" Twilight asked, amazed from Luna's capabilities.

"Every pokemon in their world is unique from one another, some pokemon are stronger than others, and others are even treated like gods. I know of one that rivals my sister's strength and mine. And we've met him before."

"I forgot to ask, where's Spike?" Twilight asked, not noticing until now.

"Oh yes, he's currently helping Celestia with some office work. Yes, Celestia gave him that job before you two went to sleep."

"Are you sure he was up to the task?"

"Oh yes, sister trained him for a solid 2 months," Luna responded with confidence.

2 months hit Twilight in the head like a brick.

The deadline.

"That's when he comes," Twilight whimpered. A rush of cold air moves from head to hoof as her time was limited. "We have to do this within two months."

Before Luna could ask for more info, she heard a dazed voice coming from behind her, turning to see the pokemon awake. The first thing he did was notice the two princesses as he jumped off the bed, backed away, and took a defensive stance. He still seemed in pain as he winced at his wounds.

Twilight had looked at Shade and scanned him with her trained eyes. Obviously, he didn't know where he was, and he was confused. Yveltal wasn't joking when he said that he had erased his memories. He looked around the room as he saw the open balcony as he made a mad dash for it.

"Stop him Luna!" Twilight commanded the co-ruler. Luna teleported in front of the balcony doors and spread her wings, not letting the Pokemon pass her. Luna saw the obvious movement he was going to do as an orb of shadows formed at his mouth, then launched at the blue alicorn. Luna brought up a barrier of magic around herself as it collided with it, creating a cloud of smoke in its wake. As the smoke cleared, Luna was still in one piece as the barrier disappeared.

"That was shadow ball Twilight. Please be careful," Luna warned.

She heard the Umbreon curse as he turned his attention to Twilight.

"WHERE AM I?!" Shade yelled, spitting it at them like venom. Shade was hyperventilating, he was so confused, making him do rash decisions.

"Please Shade, just calm down," Twilight insisted, slowly walking toward him.

"AND HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!" he screamed again. This time, he shot another one of his shadow balls at Twilight. She rolled to the side as it exploded as it impacted into the wall, but Twilight didn't give up.

"Please Shade. I don't want to hurt you," Twilight ensured again, holding her hoof out. "Please, don't regard everything as an enemy. Open your heart for me." Shade looked at her with consideration. Then to his body.

Had she done this? Did she do this for him?

He shook his head fast as he charged for the wall, charging up for one of his powerful attacks, his body started to glow as a round sphere formed around him as yellow streaks of energy formed around him as he collided with the wall, breaking down effortlessly by the Umbreon.

"Shade! Luna! We have to run after him," Twilight piped up.

"That was Giga Impact," Luna mumbled, mouth hung open.

"How do you know this stuff?" Twilight wondered.

"Lets just say... I know what they look like," she responded.

The followed him through the hole in the wall, knowing full well that the explosion was going to attract attention. They looked to see where he was, he wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"Where has he gone? Hope he doesn't cause trouble." Twilight prayed.

"Twilight," Luna asked. "What did Yveltal say about Shade?"

"Well, he said before he gave him to me to take in his care, he'd told me he would remove his memory first."

"What I think, is that Yveltal is challenging you."

"Challenging?"

"Yes, you won't believe me when you hear this, but Yveltal likes to play with his victims quite often. Like what he did with me."

"I see," Twilight pondered. She looked down at the courtyard to see Shade near the pond, where it looked like he was washing off his face. "There he is!"

"Alright, Twilight," Luna stopped Twilight. "Before you go down there I need you to know something."

"And what is that?"

"Put thyself in Shade's hooves, er, paws, and think, what would thee do?"

Twilight thought about it deeply. If she were in some world where she knew nothing about it, she would probably be scared and confused. And if she had the power to attack ponies with attacks like those, she would probably defend herself as well, which was what Shade was doing. "Gee, I feel bad for him so much," Twilight sniffled.

"Exactly, when you confront, make him feel like that this place was always his home, and you've known him for quite a couple years."

"But that's lying!" Twilight protested.

"Then tell me, would thee tell him the truth of what happened and make him even more sad? Or lie and make him feel happy so he cooperates. Cause the penalty for breaking Yveltal's deal, was that he would drain all life in our world and it would make his life much longer, being able to live another couple centuries."

Luna got the bullseye as Twilight knew, she had to decide between the two. She now knows what Yveltal would do, and she didn't want it to happen. She didn't want to lie, she wanted to be just like Applejack, honesty. However, this would mean that he would go with his original plan, if he found out Shade won't fight.

"I have no choice, do I?" Twilight uttered.

"Yes, he's your responsibility, so go. I'll tell my sister about this, so she knows what's going on."

"Alright, hope he doesn't overreact."

With that said, Twilight flew down to the courtyard, ready to confront with Shade.

"Shade, please listen to me," Twilight pleaded as she landed a little clumsily, but was on all fours.

He swung his head to see the pony princess, his golden eyes all watery, he was hesitant on attacking her again, but just turned his head back to the pond, where his reflection stood. "Leave me alone," he scoffed at her.

"I'm trying to help you Shade," Twilight persuaded.

"Help me? I don't even know who you are, yet, you know me," Shade replied.

"It's cause you already known me, it's just what happened," Twilight lied, biting her lips in the process. "There was dark magic all around you Shade, it must've wiped your memory clean, you were lucky to be alive."

He looked at his bandaged body, then back at her. "How should I know you're telling the truth?"

"Cause I'm your friend, I bandaged you up, and helped you recover this past week. Plus, I didn't want you to die, so I got you out of there, even though I was relunctant."

"If you really are, then tell me what I loved to do," Shade questioned.

"You always loved to battle, always winning, a smile on your face and everything achieved, I was there to congratulate you," Twilight answered. Once again, she held her hoof out to welcome him back into open hooves. "Please, we can restart, and please, give me the chance to see you happy again."

Twilight made herself as convincing as possible, though she didn't like how all of that was a complete lie. She hated it, but it was for the fate of Equestria. Shade stood on all fours paws as he walked towards her. Twilight stood her ground as he got closer. He looked at her hoof and gave it a sniff, trying to familiarize himself again, or so he thought, with her.

"I don't know why, but your scent reminds me of someone," Shade added. Twilight didn't have any idea of what he meant, but she had to sail with it. Shade was hesitant, but came to coming to the conclusion. He gave her smile and placed his paw on Twilight's hoof. Twilight smiled.

"In case you didn't remember, my name's Twilight Sparkle."

Chapter 4: His Assignment

"Applebloom, don't be so scared, it's just a forest. We've been here plenty of times," Scootaloo teased.

"It's not that, it's because Applejack said that if Ah' were to enter this forest again, she said Ah' couldn't hang out with you gals for a month," Applebloom admitted.

"Gee your sister is so stubborn. Rarity needs to talk some sense into her, plus, maybe they can even make up for that bet Applejack lost to, you know, when she had to let Rarity practice her mane styling techniques on her," Sweetie bell suggested.

They wanted to visit Zecora again because they wanted to see what they could get their hooves on a potion that makes you smarter, just so they won't have to study for their math test. It was Scootaloo's idea to attempt to get one, but Sweetie bell had protested against the idea. Applebloom just did whatever her friends wanted to do that day, though she was reluctant on getting a potion for themselves.

"Are guys sure we wanna do this? Remember the Cockatrice incident?" Applebloom implied. "The one where Twi turned to stone?"

"Yeah! Remember how awesome Fluttershy was by putting that thing in its place. Heck, even calling Fluttershy awesome is probably going a bit too far, but who cares!" Scootaloo enthusiastically chanted.

"Can we just get this over with? Rarity is going to turn me into one of her dress up dolls if I don't get back before she wakes up," Sweetie bell complained.

As they entered the forest, they started to hear owls hooting and reptiles hissing. They were ready to run in case they were to get chased down by a potential timerberwolf, manticore, or any other monster the forest wanted to throw at them. However, it didn't happen immediately as a cold wind blew passed them, sending shivers down their spines.

"Are you guys sure we should be here?" Sweetie bell groaned.

"Of course, unless you want to be a good filly and study stupid mathematics," Scootaloo chuckled.

"Ah' really want to do good on this test, but Ah' don't wanta study. So Ah guess Ah'm with Scootaloo," Applebloom supported.

"Ugh, fine, the only reason I'm going with you is so you don't get yourselves killed," Sweetie vowed.

She only got a raspberry from Scootaloo in response. "We can protect our selves, thank you."

"Ah' would take Sweetie with us," Applebloom protested.

A sigh escaped from Scootaloo's lips. "Fine, just don't be like my parents. They worry about me every second. Unlike you guys, I'm not scared of anything." She got a few chuckles from her friends, but ignored it and proceeded to Zecora's hut.

It was still pretty quiet in the area; with the exception of a few hoots. As they walked closer to their destination, they looked at the tree near them to see it scorched.

"Um, girls? What do you think here?" Sweetie questioned, inspecting the mark.

"Who cares? It's just a burn mark, it's not like it's going to hurt you," Scootaloo replied.

Sweetie bell put her hoof against the burn mark, feeling it was still warm. She could see the ashes of the tree currently on the ground, along with other pieces of burnt leaves and timber. There were many burnt logs in the area, she knew what had happened.

"Something, or someone, must'ave burnt these timberwolves," Sweetie bell concluded.

"What? Ah've heard that it would take great amounts of fire to take down a timberwolf, do ya think it was a dragon?" Applebloom asked.

"If there was a dragon here, then there would be giant footsteps, or it would've burnt a larger area," Sweetie bell explained. The only subject Sweetie bell had ever been interested in was history on mythological creatures, where she learnt about dragons, timberwolves, and many more creatures that live in Equestria.

"Whatever, I'm pretty sure we ca-AHH," Scootaloo screamed, looking at her hoof in the process. She was so scared she jumped to a cloud above, hanging on to it for dear life.

"What's wrong Scootaloo?" Applebloom called.

"Th-th-there's Bl-bl-blood on the ground!" Scootaloo burst out, pointing to where she had stepped. Sweetie bell looked to see she was right, the blood on the ground was fresh. Sweetie was literally shaking now. Scootaloo fell back to the Earth, creating a hole in her wake. Her eyes were dazed as she looked at the blood to see it leading somewhere.

"Should we check it out?" Applebloom uttered nervously.

"What?! What if somepony is dead back there?!" Scootaloo complained.

"Then we'll get help of course," Applebloom dead panned.

"Al-alright then, lets check it out," Scootaloo cautioned, moving carefully towards the bush.

Before they even started moving, they heard something running toward them. They started to wish they didn't wake up for this time.

What ran toward them was a white creature with a dark blue skin and claws. A sickle-like horn petruding from the right side of its head with its claws being just as sharp as it. For a split second, its red-eyes glanced at the three as it jumped over the three, where they felt their hooves freeze. As it was in the air, a blade like tail moved past them, nearly decapitating them. Before landing, they looked to see its foreleg sticky with its own blood.

It landed on the other side of them, where he took another glance at them, observing the three fillies with intense focus.

"What is that?" Applebloom whispered.

"I-I don't know," Sweetie bell murmured.

It took in a deep as there was a sudden temperature rise in the area, then it released a stream of fire towards them, not giving time for one of them to react.

Sapphire looked at the three small creatures in front of him, observing them. They were staring at him back, but their eyes were full of fear, something he didn't want.

He had thought the timberwolves he had killed, or so he thought, were gone, but he was being chased by another pack. His paw was still bloody from the last battle with Embrace, where she was sleeping in the area. Sapphire didn't want to force the burden upon Embrace to have to battle again, it wasn't in his schedule to, mostly being concerned that she had battled because she didn't want him to die. When the timberwolves had found him, he had to run from the opposite direction to keep them away from her.

Now he had these fillies to deal with, their age was obvious that they were pretty young. One was a peach yellow with a red mane with a big pink bow in its hair. Another was an alabaster white with both the color violet and pink in its hair and a horn protruding from its forehead. The last one had an orange coating and a small pair of wings with violet hair.

Sapphire was about to tell them to get out of the way, but he saw the eyes of a timberwolf behind the three with its green-glowing eyes.

"What is that?" the peach one questioned.

"I-I don't know," replied the alabaster one.

Sapphire didn't have time to talk back at them, because he knew the wolf was about to pounce at the three as its eyes were focused on its new pray. He had to save them.

He took in a deep breath, heat forming within his mouth, then it streamed towards the wolf pass them. Their reaction was even more fear as it flew right between them, going towards the wolf. However, this wolf seemed to be much smarter than the others as it jumped over the fire, and in front of the fillies, baring its wooden teeth.

Upon closer inspection, he notices a gold object hanging within its body. It had golden string where it sparkled from the fire, and the body of the pendant had a Pokeball design in the middle of it. Sapphire immediately knows what it is.

'Damn' Sapphire thought. 'I can't do too much damage to it, or else I will damage the pendant. I just want to see my son.'

"Get out of here you three," Sapphire commanded, receiving a strange look from them. "Or you may get hurt."

Sapphire wasn't sure if they understood what he said, or his body motions told them what to do, but they were happy to get behind a tree.

The timerwolf ran after them, but Sapphire got in between it and the little ones. It snarled at him in response and dashed toward him, mouth open, teeth covered in a green substance. Sapphire looked behind him to see the tree the fillies were hiding behind and decided to use it to his advantage. He waited for the last second before using quick attack to move out of the way, letting the wolf slam itself into the tree, where parts of it fell of its own body.

Sapphire was unsure of this, but he thought he heard a giggle from one of the three fillies.

"Come on! Just shoot your fire at it!" the orange one commanded.

It shook the dizziness of and charged again, the same exact way. Sapphire thought this would be very easy as he could just whittle it down with small attacks until it was reduced to nothing. He performed the same tactic another time, but the wolf changed to the direction he jumped in and tackled with its ferocious bite, putting the substance on its teeth in his body.

It stung, just like a Seviper biting into his foreleg, the one that was already wounded. Sapphire would usually be able to take hits like that, but he felt like prey as he felt its saliva get into his blood. His whole body was aching now, and the bite was getting deeper. He raised his free claw where his claws glowed purple and extended to twice the size and slashed at the base of its neck, decapitating it.

Its body fell on top of Sapphire where the weight seemed to lighten upon him, where the timberwolf disintegrate into small twigs and leaves.

Sapphire got up to look through the twigs and leaves to find the pendant he had saw earlier. All of a sudden, he was nauseas, tipping from side to side. His mind started to spin as he felt like throwing up.

"What's... happening?" Sapphire whispered.

He looked down to see the pendant, hidden under the debris of the timberwolf. He reached for it, but his legs no longer supported him. He whole foreleg was numb as it travelled up his body and then to his head. The world was spinning, yet he tried to fight it. After a long episode, Sapphire passed out.

"Oh my," Fluttershy whispered. Looking at the white creature on her couch unconscious.

"What is it?" Sweetie bell asked.

"This is bad, real bad," the timid pegasus responded.

"Well?" Applebloom added.

"Where did you find him?" Fluttershy murmured.

"Well, he found us. And he saved us from a timberwolf," Scootaloo admitted, scratching the back of her head.

Fluttershy sighed as she lifted the animal's left foreleg to inspect the damage. She noticed green substance on it as she touched it, getting a sticky feeling. "It's timberwolf saliva," Fluttershy concluded.

"Yeah? And?" Scootaloo moaned.

"Timberwolf saliva is like poison Scootaloo," Sweetie bell sighed.

"It's like a sap, since timberwolves are born after every tree sprouts. But I digress, please go to my room and look into my chest, you should see a bottle with a purple liquid," Fluttershy asked while checking his heart beat.

"I'll go get it," Sweetie bell offered.

"No, let me get it, heck, I'll get it in ten seconds flat," Scootaloo repeated Rainbow dash's famous words.

"After you get it, you girls should head to school," Fluttershy added.

The three froze, as they remembered their purpose of going into the forest in the first place. In the inside, Scootaloo was burning up.

"Come on! We could get it before school starts," Scootaloo announced.

"Scoots, lets just take these last few hours and study," Sweetie insisted.

"Yeah, Ah'd rather stay here and study," Applebloom agreed.

"Ugh, fine." Scootaloo crossed her forelegs, being reluctant to studying as they went back to their respective homes to get some studying in.

As the fillies left her home, Fluttershy pulled a small luggage bag towards her and put a couple of her belongs in it, getting ready for her trip to Manehatten.

"Hello Sapphire, it's a pleasure to meet you," a female voice greeted.

The Absol looked around to the surroundings before him. A pinkish mist litered the ground and the sky was pure blue. He looked in front of him to see a strange sight.

"Xerneas?" Sapphire asked, dumbfounded.

The legendary was about his size, but Sapphire was pretty sure that Xerneas was much larger than she currently was. "Your heart is in the right place my friend, its something you should treat with endless respect," Xerneas explained.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Your devotion to your son," Xerneas replied with a smile. "You two are not genetically related, yet, you treat him like he's your own."

"I had to, if I hadn't he would've died."

"Have you ever thought about the previous victims that fell to when you were a carnivore? The thought of a carnivore turning into a herbivore is probably a feat that no other pokemon has ever gone through. Then why did you make an exception to Shade?" Xerneas proclaimed. "For you would've known, you could've been housing a Patrat."

Sapphire's mind was spitting out questions left and right. How did Xerneas know that a Patrat was the first Pokemon he had ever pounced on and eaten? "How do you know all this stuff?" Sapphire wondered.

"If you're aware already, when I have taken my first century-long slumber, I have gained this strange power to see future events. However, it hurts to do so, with the only exception was with Embrace and Shade."

"You know them?"

"Yes, guess you can call me an acquaintance, or a helper as you may wish."

"Where's Shade?" Sapphire worried.

"He's currently in the same world as you, but different location." Xerneas walked towards Sapphire as it touched its horns against his forehead, sending golden waves down his body. "However, he's imprisoned."

Sapphire couldn't talk as his vision was blurred with something else he tried to look straight at the legendary, However, instead of the pinkish mist, it was a dark fog with the setting much different. Xerneas appeared beside him as she stared at him.

"My best friend was a Xatu, his name was Gale, he taught me to look into both the future and past. Currently, this is the past."

Sapphire looked around to see Yveltal facing with a shady figure, levitating in front of the bird. The figure had what seemed like a red scarf and its shoulders flowed behind him. His one blue eye glowed as well as Yveltal's.

Sapphire looked past them to see his son, his blue rings glowing faintly, trying to take in the moon's power. Sapphire tried to run towards him, but was stopped with Xerneas.

"I know how you're feeling now, and I would do that too, however, you won't be able to condone with the scene, it's the past." Sapphire grit his teeth as he was just told that this has already happened. He heard their conversation soon after.

"Trust me Darkrai, you're always such a negative one," Yveltal chuckled.

"My doings have nothing to do with this, but I'm willing to tamper with the kid," Darkrai replied, glancing at the Umbreon. "Mind sharing your purposes, since you have ruined my fun?"

Yveltal chuckled. "Remember? I'm one of the only Pokemon that can send you across dimensions, so you might as well do me a favour in return, in addition I'm much older than you," Yveltal smirked. "To answer your question, I'm playing as well."

"How so?"

"This Twilight Sparkle, a princess of Equestria, is playing along quite cooperatively. Bet you've been stirring up a storm ever since you hatched."

"Many people believe that Darkrai have meant no harm, but I was an exception. Something strange, something that had never happened for years, me emerging from an egg was where the whole world fell upside down."

"It was my doings that formed the egg in the first place, and the 'Elements of Harmony' caused that reaction, by forming an egg within the crystal caves under their fair capital. You haven't hatched for about 2 years after I paid Luna a visit, yet she had given birth to you in a sense. Surprising she's unaware of it."

"Luna..." Darkrai trailed off.

"The bridge between our world and their world is very narrow. With the chance of both Pokemon and Ponies going to each other's worlds. I can widen that bridge so we can easily cross," Yveltal explained.

Darkrai sighed. "So what you're telling me is that you want me to remove memories of this Umbreon?" Darkrai floated towards Shade then he raised his arms. "Formed by the arms of Arceus, clockwork of Dialga, and dimensional flow of Palkia. I wish to grant powers to me, Darkrai, form the memories of this Pokemon into solid mass."

The chant seemed to work as a dark orb came out of Shade's head, one that looked like one of Darkrai's moves. He held it in one hand as it seemed to shrink, until nothing.

He looked at the moon through the dark fog, wondering about his origins. "If I ever see Luna, what will I do?" Darkrai muttered.

"I'll give her the word when I get the chance, in the meantime have fun terrorizing the ponies back in Equestria," Yveltal reassured. "And I'll be sure to get mine." Darkrai didn't hear this, but he simply waited for Yveltal's cue.

Yveltal's eyes glowed blue, his chest glew with energy, then he fired a beam into the sky. The room it led into was dark, but was not the actual destination.

Darkrai did Yveltal a favour by lifting up Shade and putting him on Yveltal's back, ready to go. Yveltal flew with Darkrai near behind him into the portal.

The setting disappeared back to their previous world, leaving the two of them alone again. Xerneas looked at him to see his face, filled with anger.

"Would you kindly tell me where this Twilight Sparkle is?" Absol asked with anger.

"Please Sapphire, sheath your anger. The last thing we need is you murdering someone again," Xerneas mentioned.

"I have to get my son back!" Sapphire vowed, snapping at her.

"And what if you do?" Xerneas interjected. "He doesn't remember you, then what will you do? Try to put the memories back in yourself? If you are, let me help."

"I'll have to find Darkrai," Sapphire answered.

"And how will you do that?" Xerneas wondered.

Sapphire was at a stop now, he really didn't know where he could be, and he didn't know how big the world he was in now was. "I'll have to figure something out. And I must do this alone."

"At least let Embrace and me help. She is Shade's mate after all. I know you're a strong Pokemon, I get that, but you may find yourself in a situation your where you're hiding like a Deerling."

Sapphire almost took this as an insult, but she was right, and he didn't like it one bit.

"Fine, you can help," Sapphire said reluctantly.

"Just do me a favour Sapphire. I also need to ask you of something," Xerneas asked.

"And what may that be?" Sapphire grunted.

"In the world you're in, friendship is what comes first. Don't take it for granted. Leaving out all the rest is foreign to the world. Change your personality a bit, however, what I really want you to do is befriend the creatures of the world."

Sapphire's mouth hung slightly agape. "What?!" It was all he could say.

"I know you heard me, one of the natives is currently patching you up as we speak," Xerneas added.

"Huh?"

"You're not in the physical world now, your soul is just here," the legendary explained. "Please, be nice to her, and she may be your only chance to make the natives unafraid of you."

"Alright, and what was the question?" Sapphire pondered.

"Do you miss Abigail?" Xerneas asked. "You simply abandoned them, no goodbyes of any sort."

Sapphire clenched his teeth. "I... I... want to see her again, but at the same time, I know she'll hate me for murdering one of the pack's member, plus I left her without notice. I went in the opposite direction of the pack to get away from them as far away as possible so they wouldn't even be able to track my scent."

He only received a chuckle from Xerneas. "That seems like a rather large assumption," Xerneas replied.

"Huh?" Sapphire muttered.

"I'll tell you later, but right now, wake up, and find Embrace," Xerneas pleaded.

Sapphire gave the legendary an odd look. Sapphire was really good at reading faces. "You seem troubled, there is something more behind than saving her," Sapphire informed. "I feel there's more than what you're letting on."

Xerneas sighed. "You won't like this," she warned. "But she has already had her egg brought into this world. And your grandson is already brought into this ordeal, the worst being is he will be brought into this ordeal at such a young age. It's your job to be a guardian, to protect both Embrace and your unborn grandson."

"Guardian?" Sapphire croaked.

"Please, don't take Embrace as a liability. She's so very important for Shade, as she can piece together his lost memory back together. But to get it all back, you need to track down the thief of them."

"Darkrai," Sapphire answered.

"Yes, but you need to get Shade and Darkrai in close proximity for him to get them back as you won't be able to physically hold his memories. It's mandatory you do this. Guess the only hard part is getting Shade to cooperate, with his memories already tainted." Xerneas looked at the ruff around his neck, sensing the power of the stone he has in his possession. "Make the best out of your mega stone. You'll need it. Your mission begins now."

Sapphire nodded his head as the misted field disappeared as he felt his eyes twitch open.

Chapter 5: Enter Aqua

View Online

Celestia's room's silence was disturbed by two knocks at her door. Her fireplace was currently lit as the fall shivers would soon be replaced by the chilling snowfall of winter. Her balcony doors were closed as she heard the wind blow against them, rattling them.

She had got up from her seat and opened the door with her magic. It was one of her guards, Pegasus guard, but one of the most distinct part about him from the others was instead of his solitary stance, but a trembling body. Spike was being held by his tail in the guard's mouth.

"There's Spike, where had he gone off to? He wasn't in Twilight's room," Celestia asked.

The guard dropped Spike, but was caught in the levitation spell of Celestia. She had gotten no response. Upon closer inspection, she had remembered about the day recruitments joined last weekend.

His helmet was currently under his wing, showing most of his features: his blazing green eyes, his light blue coat and pure white mane that was currently combed back, were the most apparent features on him. However his cutie mark was being covered up by his armour.

She figured this may be one of them, or just the only new guard around in Canterlot.

"I-I, w-well, Commander Shining A-Armour found him in the kitchen fridge. Must Have sneaked in for a midnight snack, then fell asleep. Isn't he Princess Twilight's assistant?" he asked.

He received a chuckle from the alicorn, which made him a bit more nervous - which gave him the intent to run under pressure, but he still stood there. "Oh I'm just stealing him for the time being, Twilight won't mind."

"Alright Celestia," he replied.

"HOLD ON A MINUTE!" a new voice yelled.

Celestia looked behind him to see one of the more superior guards galloping towards the rookie. Then he gave the new guard a death glance.

"TELL ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY I SHOULDN'T MAKE GALLOP LAPS AROUND THE CASTLE FOR ADDRESSING THE PRINCESS LIKE YOU JUST DID!" he hollered. Celestia looked at the new guard he was cowering from his superiors. "YOUR SUPPOSE TO SAY 'Your highness' or 'Your majesty' BUT YOU THINK YOU CAN GO AROUND CALLING HER HIGHNESS BY HER FIRST NAME!?"

"B-But I-"

"DON'T GIVE ME ANY BUTS, NOW GO AND GI-"

"Enough Sky Light," Celestia whispered. Even with the smallest whisper, he could hear it, so he took a solitary stance for her. "This guard will be exempt from that rule for today, please go back to your post."

"Yes, your majesty," Sky Light whimpered, feeling like an imbecile after being put down by the most powerful pony in Equestria. He turned his body back to where he was stationed, and glared at the recruit before walking far enough away to be out of sight.

"That was certainly... unexpected," the new guard said gaping. He let out a sigh of relief before turning to Celestia, who had put Spike down on one of her seats.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Your Highness my name is Aqua." he replied.

"You don’t need to address me in such a manner, as I said before, you are free to call me Celestia, or even 'Tia - don't tell Luna I said that," she whispered, giggling. "Please take a seat, I would like to know a bit more about you Aqua." He was reluctant, but he sat down. "Tell me, why did you join the royal guard?"

"I need the extra money, so I am able to... live better. I figured since you’re risking, one’s life by joining the royal guard to protect the royal family, it must pay well aswell," Aqua replied.

"I see, is it true that you would risk your life for someone?" Celestia pushed on.

"W-Why do you ask?" Aqua worried.

"Because, from the moment I saw you, I knew you were different. Unique. Like you're not from this world. I need to know about you. All I want to do is see if I can help you."

"Help me, I don't think that's possible, at least in my case," he admitted.

"It's time my water-loving friend!" a masculine voice echoed in the room.

Celestia knew he it was, but so did Aqua. Aqua simply scoffed. "Just leave me alone Discord, I can’t remember one thing you’ve done for me that hasn’t been a nuisance, I hate you," Aqua scolded.

That was before he found himself in a booster chair with a little bib around his neck, with the bib sporting the words ‘Let’s eat!’ Aqua blushed. "Well that's not a nice way to treat daddy Discord. It's time for you to take your medicine!" Discord appeared in front of him in a doctors uniform with a spoon of what looked like green syrup. That the spoon changed into a train with the syrup still in the shallow bowl. "Here comes the choo choo train! Too too!"

"What are you doing Discord? And more importantly how do you know this guard?" Celestia asked suspiciously.

Aqua swallowed the substance with a disgusted, yet embarrassed look on his face. He felt relieved as the booster seat and bib disappeared. A cloth appeared in Discord's paw and wiped Aqua's muzzle with a bit of the liquid dripping from his chin. "What does it look like? I'm feeding my little buddy Aqua here," Discord explained, wrapping his Talon around him. Aqua rolled his eyes in disgust and equally fear.

"Not that Discord, you just happen to know him? A random new recruit of the royal guard? I’m not buying it…," Celestia replied.

Suddenly Discord was slithering around Celestia in a vacation outfit, "Oh Celestia mon you told me that I need to help around the castle mon, so I decided to help out the royal guard mon, and that’s when I met this mon right here, he looked quite worried so I helped him mon. We’re just friends mon relax," Discord assured. Celestia didn't buy it.

"Uh, yeah, just friends," Aqua added.

By the look on her face, it looked like she still didn’t buy it.

Aqua looked out the window then back to his fore leg to pretend he had a watch. That was when he started to bolt out of the room. “I got to go!” Aqua yelled back, slamming the door behind him.

The room quieted, one could only hear the sound of pages turning from a random magazine Discord suddenly had in his possession.

"I know what you're thinking Celestia, and trust me, it's pretty... Farfetch'd," Discord commented, bursting into a laughter. The magazine seemed to laugh as well. "Because you know, Farfetch'd. Ho-oh-oh, hehe, oh that's a real killer." He looked at Celestia's face, but it was emotionless. "You know I’ve waited a thousand years for an interesting reaction from you, but yet again you disappoint. Well maybe you will try harder next time. Smell Ya Later!" Discord laughed maniacally then snapped his finger and disappeared.

If only I could rid myself of that nuisance. Aqua thought absently. Discord was not someone he would really want to be friends with, in fact, he thinks that nobody really likes him that much.

He walks into the Canterlot courtyard as he looks up to the clouds in the sky, with a weather team pushing multiple clouds in different directions. As he continues to walk, he sees the tower which housed Princess Twilight. He never met her in person; with the only thing he heard was that she was the newest princess of Equestria. He thought it would be a good idea to get himself acquainted with her, but it was probably the most idiotic thing a guard can do.

He turns his head to see one of the princesses approaching her room. Her dark-coat and starry mane and tail flowing behind her. He believed that her name was Princess Luna. When she opened the door to Twilight's room, her eyes widened as she entered and closing the door behind her.

"Hmm, I wonder why Luna is visiting Princess Twilight,” Aqua asked himself.

"And should you get fired for stalking the princesses?" a voice from behind asked. The voice was familiar as Aqua froze and turned around. Sky Light was glaring at him with fire in his eyes. "I HAVE THE FULL CAPABILITY TO FIRE YOU FROM YOUR JOB IF I WANTED, BUT CELESTIA HAD TO CODDLE YOU JUST FOR BEING NEW?! YOU WILL NOT HAVE A NICE DAY TODAY AS WE WILL TREAT YOU AS WHAT YOU ARE A NEW RECRUIT GO CLEAN THE BARRACKS!"

"Heh, if you want hurt me then you should be the one putting effort into things, the world has thrown enough at me, that I can handle a few extra-working hours," Aqua responded smugly.

"I was expecting you to complain kid, after that you better get your flank to the training grounds at 1030." Sky Light commanded, staring directly into his eyes. Then he brought his hoof up and stared at a golden watch he owned. "It's 0956 right now, you’ve got approximately 34 minutes to do so, GOT IT?!"

Aqua scoffed then brought his hoof to his forehead. "Yes sir," he replied, with very little enthusiasm.

"Heh, better be a much more firm response next time kid, you’re on very thin ice," Sky light said in a much quieter tone. However, before Sky took off, he glanced at the window to see a dark-blue glow. He shrugged and flew off, but Aqua decided to stay and see what was going on inside the princess's room.

"NOW!" his Commander yelled from a distance.

"Okay!" Aqua yelled back.

But Aqua decided to delay that order and decided he would want to know what was going on in Princess Twilight's room. His wife once told him that he would go off and see things that interested him more than what she had wanted him to do. But they simply laughed at the end.

That was when he saw it, the creature lying in the Princess's bed, it was asleep it looked like as he could see its breathing. He knew what it was, yet he didn't want to believe it. Lying there was an Umbreon, one of the choices he could've evolved into. but this one was different. Instead of golden rings around his limbs, he sported a blue color instead. He was covered in bandages and a patch was covered over the ring on his forehead.

"No... it can't be..." Aqua whispered. "It just can't." He kept on mumbling this as he saw the Pokemon getting up from the bed. He looked over to his direction, but he got away in time to not be spotted. That was when a figurine-sized draconequus appeared on his soldier.

"Well would you mind telling me why you're eavesdropping?" Discord questioned. That was when he looked himself. "Oh my. Looks like some weird creature attacking the Princesses. Now this is something I can watch." Discord returned to his normal size and pulled a chair out of what seemed to be a non-existent pocket, and popcorn into his lion hand.

"Discord, I am in need of your assistance right as of now," Aqua asked, while his eyes stare out into the sky.

"Hmm?" Discord mumbled with a bunch of popcorn in his mouth.

"You made a promise when you brought me here, that I’ll be able to turn back into a Vaporeon anytime I wanted. That time is now."

He spit the popcorn out and snapped his finger. "Oh, that! Give me a moment," Discord responded. A chest appeared beside him as he looked through it, pulling out multiple random pieces of junk. He threw multiple things behind him like mask of unknown individuals, a deck of cards, pair of fake pegasus wings, then a bowling ball came out going towards him, but just moved aside to where it fell upon to the ground below. "Ah, here it is."

He pulled out what looks like some sort of small orb with what looks like water in it. Swimming around in it was Aqua's regular body, not this pony one. "It's a little strange, seeing myself swimming around in it, it’s also somewhat uncomforting," Aqua commented. "Let us go down to the courtyard first." He jumped down onto the grass with his wings slowing down his descent. Looking at Discord, who seemed fascinated with the creature inside.

"My my, even without your soul to occupy it, your body just seems to move on its own, it’s certainly one of the most interesting things to date. All right then, close your eyes," Discord asked. Aqua closes his eyes as the orb opens like a capsule and the water started to wrap around his body He started shrinking in size as he was morphing into what he originally was.

His stallion tail was turning into a tail fin as his back started to line with ridges. His hooves turning into paws and his body started to grow his aquatic scales. A white ruff sprouted from his neck as another ridge started to protrude from his head. Two fins sprouted from the two sides of his head as the water started to enter his body. His transformation was complete. "You may open your eyes now, Aqua," Discord said, his previous body now in the orb instead.

As he opened his eyes, he walked over to the pond and looked. He was the Pokemon he was again. He felt his scales to see that they were there and his fins were where they were. He was once the Vaporeon he once was. “Feels so nice to be in my own body.” He let out a sigh of relief as he stretched his body.

All of a sudden, the wall to Twilight's room burst open as the Umbreon came out, with trails of his attack disappeared, Aqua recalling it was called Giga Impact. Discord quickly disappeared out of the area and Aqua jumped into the pond, his body dissolving into water molecules becoming camouflaged. The Umbreon walked to the edge of the pond, dipping his paws into the water, making contact with his dissolved body, and splashing it into his face. He also took a sip of the water. Aqua observed the Umbreon intently, starting to think about something he hoped he would've never thought about.

However, for some reason, he started to cry, his tears falling into the pond. He was tempted to come out of the pond to ask why he was crying, but that was when he saw the Princess fly down and land rather clumsily on the grass. She looked around before she called him by what seemed like his name.

"Shade, please listen to me," Twilight said. At that moment, the Umbreon turned his head towards the alicorn. Twilight still looked around, as if hoping no one was watching. The so called "Shade" turned back into the pool of water.

"Leave me alone," he had responded.

His voice. His voice was vaguely reminiscent to that of his son. But he just needed more evidence of it. He managed to convert himself into a physical form as he looked around the small body of water until he saw a pocket-sized scuba diver with swimming goggles and a breathing tube.

"Discord," Aqua called. But he seemed to be humming some strange song in his head. He rolled his eyes and swam towards him; swishing the water around the small draconequus.

"That was certainly uncalled for, why you got to be ruining my break?" Discord protested, lifting his goggles and eyeing Aqua with a glare. That was when Aqua grabbed him with both his paws and looked right at him. "Let me go!"

"I remember you saying something about how you would help me in anyway to redeem myself, isn’t that why you pulled me into this world?” Aqua asked. Discord nodded. “Good, I need your help right now, and you can’t possibly be the one to break a promise, now can you?”

"Ugh, I can't pull back on a promise, now can I?"

"First, get us to the barracks," Aqua commanded. Discord slipped out of his grip like a bar of soap. He snapped his fingers as they were both teleported to their desired location. It was empty, but he heard all the guards seemed to be getting ready for something. "Discord, I need my disguise." Discord simply pulled out the same orb and it opened up. It was exactly like the process of him turning into Vaporeon, but in reverse. Weirdly enough, he already had his armor on him and helmet.

That was when a guard walked in and took notice of Aqua. "Hey! Rookie!" he called over to him. "Something happened over at Princess Twilight's tower. We fear the worst, we must make haste!" Then he exited the room.

"No, no no no. I can't let this happen," Aqua worried. He looked to Discord who was playing with what looked like a small gaming device emitting little beeps and nudged him. "Whatever that is Discord, put it away, for now I need you to-"

"Keep in mind the only things I can't do is, you cannot request I kill sompony, it’s makes them static and boring and it risks my banishment. We all know we don’t that, now do we. Also you cannot alter somepony's memory or head, or shape of head, or... or... or! Turn them into a three headed snake-lion platypus with six claws and a zuc-"

"Put all the Royal guards in Canterlot to sleep."

"Excuse me?" Discord responded in surprise, dropping the device to the ground where it hid itself under one of the bunks.

"You’re well aware of what that creature was Discord, and I’m pretty sure you know how I correspond to him. I also require that I be close to him and I need know more about that Umbreon. After all, we’re friends, you wouldn’t deny my request now would you? Also, make sure that Sky Light gets much more sleep, he needs it."

Discord sighed. He snapped his fingers as he started to hang his head. "Every guard is asleep for one hour, except you of course with the Sky Light being asleep for the rest of the day. Dear Celestia will be outraged by this. How… exciting."

Celestia eyes widened as she heard an explosion in one of the towers. She closed the book she was reading and galloped toward her door to see the guards outside of it are just as surprised as she was. She turned to one of the guards to ask. "What's going on?!"

"We don't know your majesty, we could be under attack. Would you like us to scout the castle?"

"Do so, I have my own things to attend to at the moment."

"All right your majesty. YOU HEARD YOUR MAJESTY. LETS MOVE!" he commanded the other guards. They galloped down the hallway as Celestia went back into her room, preparing to wake up Spike.

"Spike? Spike you there?" Celestia asked, prodding the sleeping dragon's head with her horseshoe. He mumbled in his sleep in response. She rolled her eyes as she stomped the ground. It woke him up instantly.

"Ugh, Twilight, what was that fo..." the drowsy dragon looked up to see it was Celestia. He looked around the room to see he was indeed in Celestia's room now. "Hey Princess," he said sheepishly.

"First of all, care to explain why you were found in the kitchen fridge? And that I was told that all the ketchup was gone by one of our chefs here?" Celestia asked sternly.

"Oh..." he responded. "About that. I kind of gotten... a craving for ketchup."

She simply sighed in response, placing a hoof on her face. "Besides this new craving you've developed, did you hear it?"

"Hear what?"

"Guess not. You need to follow me. There's an emergency."

Spike had a look of confusion on his face as he just got up and started following Celestia to the door. But it was opened by somepony else, which happened to be her sister.

"Luna, what is going on?!" Celestia demanded. However, Luna only looked up at her with a very worried look on her face. "Luna, tell me now!"

"Sis..." she whispered. She kicked at the ground before looking back at her. "We need to talk, and I need to tell you something."

"We can talk later, for now we ha-."

"THERE WON'T BE A LATER!" Luna responded in the royal canterlot voice. She looked to Spike that was behind her. In a normal voice, she asked. "Spike, do us a favor and leave, but in any circumstances, do not go to Twilight, and that’s an order."

Spike raised an eyebrow before shrugging and walking past her as Luna entered the room and closed the door behind her. Luna sighed as she motioned Celestia to sit on her pillow as she sat on the one across from it. Her sister finally sat on the other one after staring at her in disbelief, "What's going on little sister?" Celestia asked in a worried voice.

"Tia, there is something that had happened today. And it would be no use trying to keep it secret from you."

"Did it have to do with that explosion we heard?"

"Partly, it was really what happened after it. The thing is... we have a guest from that other world, and I guess you can say he really isn’t the happiest right now."

Her eyes widened as she immediately knew what she meant. “What?" Celestia responded, almost sounding like she didn't hear it.

"One of the creatures had just visited our world, and left us with an assignment of some sort. An assignment with a due date.”

"Please don’t add meaningless details and get straight to what you’re trying to say, Lulu." Celestia leaned in as she wanted to hear even her breathing.

"The thing about the creature that came here... it wasn't his first time, Tia," Luna croaked, her voice getting raspy and her eyes getting watery. "The same one that made you banish me."

Celestia had memories flash back to her, where she had used the Elements of Harmony to banish her sister. The pain that happened as she had blasted her into the moon. "You mean... that wasn't you at all?"

Luna simply nodded her head. "I love you too much Sis. To think I would've done such a thing... it scares me so much, it happened right after we turned Discord to stone." For some reason, she opened with a smile. "Just glad that monster is gone now. Somehow, that monster role played as me and made it look like I really betrayed you."

"What was this monster's name?! We need to take action!"

"His name... its name is Yveltal, The Destruction Pokemon." Luna had started to cry afterwards into her hooves.
