Prologue

A thousand years ago Princess Celestia and Luna ruled together the night and day in eternal peace. But then one day, Princess Luna noticed that many ponies were asleep at night and never gotten to see her night. At first she was jealous until she gotten an idea on how ponies can appreciate the night again.

After many ideas and thoughts she finally created The Shadowbolts! The fastest group of pegasi in Equestria. Many ponies are finding them amazing are are appreciating the night again. Then Celestia gotten another idea by creating her own group of pegasi called The Wonderbolts.

The two groups then became rivals and competitors of any sport imagined.  And now a thousand years later, that rivalry is still there alive and kicking with new members and new adventures.
> Chapter 1: ShowTime

Chapter 1: ShowTime

Soarin is flying through Cloudsdale hurrying towards the stadium where the tryouts are being held for new recruits. Not only that his Friend Rainbow Dash is coming and he promised to meet her there before it starts. But he slept in and he is already hitting himself for it.

"Shoot! I promised Dash I'll be meeting her at the stadium and now she'll kill me for it!"

As soon as he arrived he sees a familiar rainbow colored mane pony at the entrance and he even sees her back is turned and he at first breaths a sigh of relief until "You're late Soarin."

"I'm dead now." He thought

At first he thought that she was going to hit him until she turns around and nudges him in the shoulder and says "Come on Soar, it's only five minutes till it starts we better get going."

"Whew, thanks Dash."

"No problem."

"Well glad I survived that."

So then both of them then entered the stadium talking and laughing along the way about how both of them are going to be the best Wonderbolt duo in Equestria. Though whom is going to be captain is something they just seem to never agree on.

"Come on Dash, you know I'll be the better captain." Said Soarin

"No way Soarin! I'll be the best captain then you." Replied Rainbow

"No me!"

"No I am."

And this went on until they stopped and looked at the end of the tunnel and they see two Pegasus at the end of the tunnel. One is wearing a blue suit with some gold lighting bolt trimmings on the hooves. While the other is in a black suit with a purple underbelly with a gold border separating the two colors. Though Dash and Soarin just seem to met them they can sense a tension in the air that seem to be a bit of hostility between these two.

"Hey Dash, what do you think is going on?" Whispered Soarin

"Don't know." Replied Dash

Before they could say anything else the one in the black and purple suit walks off and passes by the two and Dash felt a chil go down her spine when the unknown stallion seemed to look at her.

"Burr, is it cold?" Said Dash shivering

"Nope. Must be your imagination." Said Soarin. Though in his mind he noticed the look that stallion gave Dash. At first he thought it was nothing but now he thinks that he us sizing him and Dash up. "Come on Dash, let's get going."

Dash then nodded her head and both of them went towards the lockers. And Soarin can't help but look back and see the other stallion looking at them also.

Soarin is just finishing stretching and waiting for an hour and during that time other stallions and mares start pouring in and are preparing themselves for the tryouts. He could also see Rainbow on the other side of the room and he couldn't help but look at her fine body and wings.

"Dang Soarin! Don't look at her like that!"
"But you do like her don't you?"
"Well, maybe. I knew her since we met in flight school."
"Then make your move soon."
"Maybe after the show. Or after some time we are in the Wonderbolts."

Then over the speakers the announcer comes on with the opening ceremony. "Welcome ponies to the thousandth year of tradition that's been held for recruiting future Shadowbolts and Wonderbolts!"

This was then followed by cheering that can be heard in the background. "Well then let us start with the ceremony ponies!"

Then music is heard and one by one the ponies are called out in order by name starting with the A's and so on and so forth.

After about ten twenty minutes Dash is up and after she goes out Soarin later could tell she did well by all the cheering and she did her Sonic Rainboom at the end. Later his name was called and he goes out and at first he was nervous by all the ponies and he even wonders why this many ponies has to be here for a simple recruitment drive for two teams?  But he then shakes his head and breathes in deeply.

He then takes off and at first performs some fast dives and pull ups and did dome basic flips. He then does something that us impressive when he takes one wing and puts it into a cloud and did what appears to be sculpting a sun out of clouds.

After he is done cheering can be heard and he then heads off towards the lockers to rest up. And he can't help but smile at his performence.

After it's all done Soarin started to look for Rainbow when he finally spots her outside the lockers. Soarin was just about to open hugs mouth to say hi when he spots a familiar black and purple uniformed pony in front of Dash. Though Soarin is not near to over hear them he could see that Dash has what appears to be a look of disappointment on her face and her wings are hanging at her sides.

After he was done and left Soarin then came up it Dash and says with a hint of concern "Hey Dash, what just happened?"

Dash though quickly rubs her eyes with a hoof to wiped any tears that are there and says "Nothing Soarin."

"That didn't looked like nothing. Come on Dash tell me? I'm sure whatever it is I can handle it."

Dash then sighs and looks at Soarin in the eyes and stutters "W-well it's that, I was accepted in the Shadowbolts."

Soarin stood there in shocked and was about to say something when a blue uniformed stallion came up to him and says "Soarin impressive work. That was some amazing flying out there."

"Thanks sir."

"No need for that just call me Fire Cracker."

"Ok." Said Soarin nervously

"Good. Now I came here wondering if you want to join the Wonderbolts?"

Soarin can not believe his ears! His dream is coming true. But he then remembered that Dash isn't going to be with him. When he turns to her she has on a smile saying "Go on Soarin. You can fly for the both of us."

"But-"

Shen then sticks a hoof on his lips and shakes her head "No buts. Just go for it. I know you can."

Before he could say anything Dash then walked off and Soarin at first was to turn Cracker down. But then he knows that Dash wouldn't like that. So with a heavy sigh he turns towards him and says "Sure, I'll join the Wonderbolts."

Though deep down he knows that he may never see Dash again for a long time.
> Chapter 2: The Wonderbolt

Chapter 2: The Wonderbolt 

Four years later

On the outskirts of Cloudsdale a section of cloud is the home of the Wonderbolts. When a visitor comes along at first the entrance is a big fence surrounding the place. The buildings themselves are placed in well placed areas. The HQ is only a short walk from the enterence and across from it is sleeping quarters. And straight on ahead is the track for the team to practice on.

Soarin finds himself flying through an obstacle course that him and his friend Fleetfoot had set up. Fleetfoot is a white mare with a teal mane and tail whom joined the Wonderbolts last year and she us the youngest Pegasus to ever join. When she joined she was at first shy at everypony until Soarin came up and helped her out of her shell for three months. At first she thought he liked her until she learned that he only thought of her as a friend.

Surprisingly she took that well and wasn't hurt by his rejection and the two of them remained friends since then.  Fleetfoot is at the end of the course with a stopwatch timing Soarin. She took a quick look at the watch when a blue blur passed by her and skidded to a halt right on the track. "So how did I do Fleet?"

"Well Soarin, you beaten your previous record by three seconds." Replied Fleetfoot

"Sweet." Exclaimed Soarin

He then walks up to a bench and grabs a towl to wipe off any sweat and cloud water that he accumulated on the track. While he is doing this Fleetfoot came up to him saying "Hey Soarin, seems like Spitfire came by this morning again."

"Really, what did she wanted?"

"Well maybe it's that she still wants you as Co-Captain of the team."

Soarin gives a big sigh at what Fleetfoot said. For the past three years after Fire Cracker retired his daughter Spitfire took over since then she's also been on the team longer and has been trying to get Soarin to be the Co-Captain.

"I told her no though. How long is she going to keep this up?" He said with a bit of anger.

Fleetfoot never noticed it though and says "Well rumor has it you are very good."

"Somehow I think that's not it."

"Oh, then what else is it?" She said with an eyebrow raised

"For about a year I think she likes me." Soarin said while ganging his head and the towel around his neck

"For reals!" She replied with a shocked expression

All Soarin could do is nod and Fleetfoot is at a loss of words until she finally says "When did you noticed?"

"Well, it was about a year ago. Before then I thought she was just trying a different approach to get me the position until well she started I think was flirting."

"Dude man, how can you tell?"

"Let's see, she came close to me that our wings were touching and well she even put her tail on my flank."

Fleetfoot while listening to this tries to not imagine it and a tint of red comes on her cheeks. "Didn't you tell her at least you weren't interested in her?"

"Yes I did! But she keeps at it!"

Soarin then sat down on his but and all Fleetfoot could do was try to hold in a laugh and says "Well, good luck then."

Soarin then sighs and after thanking Fleetfoot for the flight he then walks off towards the area where the Wonderbolts call the lounge which is a big room in the quarters that can be called The Colt Cave. Though even the mares on the team hang out in it also. When he walks in he sees two stallions Fire Streak and Wave Chill a mare Misty all sitting around a taller playing cards.

"Oh come on!" Shouted the darker blue stallion "I totally won that!"

The white stallion then says "Sorry Wave, but I beaten you."

But then the mare smiles "Sorry Fire but I won." She then puts down her hoof of cards and the two stallions go wide eyed and Wave says "Dang Misty! How do you do it girl?"

She then smiles and winks at him saying "That's my little secret."

Soarin then smiles and sits in a bean bag chair and just lays there while those three voices start to drown out. And his mind turns towards a certain cyan mare with a rainbow colored mane and tail.

After what seems like ten minutes he feels something on his nose and Shen he opens his eyes he sees a feather at his nose and what appears to be whipped cream on his hoof. "Oh come on Soar, you weren't supposed to wake up."

Soarin then looks up and sees a white coated mare with a yellow mane and tail "Sorry Surprise. You should know I can be a light sleeper."

She then laughs and bounces off saying "I'll get you one of these days."

Soarin then smiles and shakes his head at the little jokester on the team. He was about to sleep when he hears a familiar voice saying "Nice one Soar. Only you can't fall for her tricks."

Soarin then looks up again and to his dismay it's Spitfire. The golden mare that wants him to be the Co-Captain and according to him has a crush on him. "Hey Cap." He said gruntly

"Come on Soar, call me Spitfire." She said while walking closer

Soarin though gets up quickly and replies "If it's all the same to you, I'll call you cap or captain."

He then thought he saw her almost rolled her eyes and she says "Ok Soarin. I'm just wondering if you thought about that position."

"Yes and I still think I'm not the right one for it."

"Look Soarin, just imagine it. A life at the top alongside me and I'm sure you can have anything you want."

Soarin then looks her straight in the eyes and says "Look captain, I told you no. And no is still my answer."

Spitfire face then takes a sour turn and she says "Is it about that mare you once knew that's now a Shadowbolt?"

Now it's Soarins turn to get a surprised look "What? How?" He then quickly regains his composure "So what! Me and her are friends and I'm sure we still are."

She then stomps a hoof on the floor "Soarin! She is a Shadowbolt! She probably forgotten about you by now!"

"No she has not!"

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

She then gives a humph and walks out without saying anything else. And Soarin breathed a huge sigh. "Hope Rainbow Dash didn't forget me."
> Chapter 3: The Shadowbolt

Chapter 3: The Shadowbolt

Meanwhile over in Canterlot, the Shadowbolts HQ is a different set up then the Wonderbolts. Instead a stone wall surrounds it and the track is set up just outside of Canterlot and the team has their own quarters also. Though the teams lounge is just a few tables and chairs with not much else. Rainbow finds herself at one such table reading a book. Though before she would never read but instead she has gotten into the Daring Do series whom her friend has shown her and gotten her into.

She was just finishing a chapter and is about to close the book when she sees a fellow teammate whom is a bat pony mare, the first on the team, come up and says "Hey Dash, want to go shopping?"

Dash then smiles and remembers how she met Night Fury. She was just a few months in and the tension is heavy everywhere she goes and was about to lose her mind according to her until a dark purple and blue mane and tail helped her to keep sane. She even became her friend right then. Though her name is Night Fury, she is in fact the opposite of the team. Almost like she can bring a smile to anywhere she goes.

"Sure thing Fury. Let's go."

So then both Dash and Fury walk out of the HQ building and heads towards the shopping district. This is something they do that Fury calls a Mares Day Out, which they do once a week and since both of them are the only mares on the team and it's the only chance they get to get out of the place before they lose their minds.

When they arrive after losing some crazy stallions whom want to do some unmentionables to the two mares. Though there were some moments when young fillies and colts ask for an autographs from them which they don't mind doing.

After two hours of shopping they stop at a cafe and were telling jokes. "So then I tried to pull a prank on Orpheus and guess what happened?" Exclaimed Fury

"No what happened since this happened before I came on the team?" Said Dash excitedly

"Well he then steps on the banana peel and trips onto a mattress and slides down the steps!"

Both of them then laugh at this and Dash wipes away some tears from the laughing until she sees Fury with a blank face. "What is it Fury?"

"Well, seems like we have a tail."

Dash then takes a quick peek behind her and she can't believe whom is there.

One thing Dash hates about the team is a certain stallion that seems to follow her almost everywhere. When she reports it no one believes her. Even the stallion denies it. The black maned stallion and grey coat name is she learned is Shade. The Co-Captain of the team. She even thinks he is stalking her and even if others don't believe her her friend Fury does and she tries her best to be there for Dash when he is around.

Dash even tried to get herself traded to the Wonderbolts but it needs to be approved by the Captain. And he is the type that doesn't want to lose something good. Though she even says that she will join a smaller pegasi team that are forming and are trying to be as good as the Wonderbolts and Shadowbolts. But the Captain still says no. So now she has to live with a stalker named Shade.

She then grumbles and puts a hoof on her forehead and says "What's with him? Why is he interested in me?"

Fury then puts a hoof to her chin and says "Don't know. Did you at least tell him that you weren't interested?"

"Yea. But he's a persistent one."

Fury then thinks for a moment and then a sort of lightbulb moment happens "Hey Dash, how about we lose him in the rush hour crowd."

"Sounds good Fury."

So then both of them ran off after paying for their meal and Shade tries to follow them but as they enter a crowd and Dash gets a hat to hide her mane he then lost her and gets a disgruntled look.

Dash and Fury then walk out the store and laugh and took flight. While Dash is recovering she then sees a poster with the Wonderbolts and she flew up to it because on one side at a corner is a stallion she knows well. When Fury noticed this she came up beside her and looks at the poster and her and developed a smile saying "Don't tell me, you have a crush on a certain Wonderbolt?"

Dash then came out of it saying "What? Huh? Well so what."

"Come on Dash, you know you can trust me."

"Well alright but don't tell anypony about this."

"Sure thing Dash."

Dash then looks around her to see if anyone is around and then says "Well alright, he is a Wonderbolt. But the thing is he might've forgotten me."

"Come on Dash, I'm sure he will still remember you."

"It's been four years since that ceremony and neither one of us checked up on each other."

Fury then pats Dash's shoulder "Don't worry. From the sound of it you two knew each other since you were young?"

"Yea."

"Well then I wouldn't be surprised if one day you two do meet each other."

Both Dash and Fury laugh at Fury's statement and flew off towards the HQ.

"Wonder if Soarin still thinks of me?"
> Chapter 4: The Day Off

Chapter 4: The Day Off

It has been four days since that day and Soarin is still trying to exert his anger by doing the obstacle course everyday. Each time he does it he makes it harder for him and in the evening his wings are sore all over. But that doesn't stop him. Even Fleetfoot tried to talk him into stopping it.  Even Soarin tries to stop but the conversation that Spitfire gave him comes back up and he is out on the obstacle course the next minute.

Soarin is done and breathing heavily and sweating hard after another day on the course. He was about to go again when a hoof lands on his shoulder and when he looks to see who it is and standing there us Fleetfoot.

"Soarin, I know you are a bit angry about what Spitfire said to you but you need to stop."

Soarin was ignoring her but ended up laying on the clouds and when he sighs he says "I think I need a few days off."

Fleetfoot raised an eyebrow at this and nods and says "Yea that is probably what you need. I could easily get you a doctors excuse for you."

Now it's Soarins turn to be confused "What would be the reason though?"

"Well you have been over exerting yourself and I think that's good enough for some rest."

Soarin then laughs at this "Where would I go though?"

"I hear Ponyville is a nice place. Been there a few times myself."

"Sounds nice. Where is this Ponyville?"

"Just about a half hour flight from here towards Canterlot. And it's also right next to a forest."

Soarin then gets up he then says "Sounds good. Does Spitfire have to know about this?"

"Yea, but the good news is she won't know where you went."

"Promise not to tell her Fleet?"

"Promise Soar."

About an hour later Soarin is flying towards Ponyville after getting a doctors orders to rest after what he did.  On his way there he is smiling. Not just him getting a few days off but also he won't have to desk with Spitfire again.

"Fleetfoot! Do you know where Soarin went?"

Fleetfoot is in the lounge sitting in a chair with Spitfire looking at her with a not to pleased look.

"He's on vacation since he sprained his wings and was about to break them from training to hard." Replied Fleetfoot

"I know that. I was just wondering where he went."

"Sorry. He never told me where he was going. Sorry Captain."

All Spitfire could do now is simply sigh and walk off towards her office. Leaving Fleetfoot smiling behind her book.

Soarin arrived at the train station and can't believe the sight he is seeing. Everywhere he look the buildings seem it be the same being two stories tall and he could even see many ponies walking around. Some are earth ponies, some other pegasi and some unicorns can be seen. He breathed in a sigh and walked off the platform until "WOAH!"

He quickly look behind him and sees a orange earth pony mare being tackled by a little yellow filly. At the sight of this all he could do is smile and continue walking. He then took in the sights and sees all it is is a small town and everypony seems to be friendly and know each other.

"Have to admit, Fleetfoot is right about this place it seems."

He continues on until he sees a small cafe and he decided to stop by that area to get something to eat for lunch.

After some hours of sightseeing Soarin finds out it's getting close to night time. So he decided to find a motel. After asking a random pony whom gladly told him where one is he finally arrives. After he went in he sees it's a simple motel. Clean and it has some nice plants around.

"May I help you sir?"

Soarin then looks at the counter and he sees a mare behind a desk. He then walks up to it and says "Well I was hoping to get a room here."

"How many nights?"

"Around four days."

"Well that would be forty bits, mister?"

"Ok, I don't think I want to use me real name here. Don't want any fans coming at me. Though I'm surprised nopony recognized me. I might've been lucky." "Gust."

After she written his name down she finally says "Ok Mr. Gust you are room 101."

"Thank you." He then takes the keys and pays her the bits and heads on to find his room.

After he arrived at his room and entered it he sees it's a simple room with a bed at one wall, a kitchen at another and a window with a good view of Ponyville. He then smiles and puts his saddle bag at the foot of the bed and lay down on the bed knowing his vacation is just getting started.

Earlier that same day in Canterlot

Rainbow is laying in bed with a disgruntled look on her face. She can't believe that Night Fury has to go off to somewhere on something important. Though she is a bit happy that Shade is going with her. She can still remember the face he had when he was told that him and Fury are needed somewhere.

But later on Dash noticed some red roses when she came into her room with a note saying:


To my favorite pony.
Shade


She almost threw up and ended up throwing it out the window. One good thing she can say about her room it's near a cliff edge. So anything Shade gives her she just throws it out the window.

"Agh! So bored." She exclaimed

She then rolls on her back and looks up at the ceiling trying to think what to do. Though at some points she can't help but think of a certain stallion. After an hour of thinking she finally gets up and heads off towards the Captains office.

As soon as she arrives she sees the captain just leaving his office.

"Hey captain, I was wondering if I could use my off days?"

The captain gives her a strange look before saying "Whys that?"

"Well I just thought that it's time I used them, sir."

The captain thinks at first and Dash thinks he might say no until "Alright. I'll give you four days vacation time."

She then says while smiling "Thank you sir!"

In ten seconds she arrived in her room, packed some stuff until she thinks where to go. She then remembers that Fury said that a good place to rest is Ponyville. So at first she dyes her mane and tail into a more navy blue color just so that nopony will recognize her since she is just there for rest. She just gotten done and is heading out after telling the captain where she is going since he seems to want to know where everypony is.

After some good flying she arrives at Ponyville and she can't help but smile. Since this is the first time she's out of Canterlot, minus the times she was on tour. She was flying around and admiring the view and she then lands on a cloud and just lays on it.

She finally wakes up shivering a bit and decided to find a hotel. After looking around she finds one and goes in and walks up to the desk saying "Hello, I'm Rain and I was wondering if I can get a room here for four days?"

The mare looks up and jots down her name and hoofs her a key. "That would be forty bits and your room is 80."

Dash then pays her the bits and heads straight towards room and when she walks in she throws her saddle fish and jumps on the bed smiling. "This is going to be the best four days ever!"
> Chapter 5: Reunion

Chapter 5: Reunion

Soarin woke up to Celestias sun beating onto his face and when he opened his eyes he quickly shut them and puts a hoof over his eyes and rolls over. But Unknown to him is that he rolled nest the edge in his sleep and "THUMP!" And he crashed onto the floor.

"Ouch! Now that hurt."

He then gets up off the floor and walks into the shower and turns the knobs to get warm water. When he steps in he at first lets the water soak his body and he even spreads his wings out a bit and after a while he washes his mane and tail with some shampoo. After about twenty minutes he then gets out and dries himself off and he took a quick peek outside and sees it's a nice sunny day outside.

"Good day for a small flight I say."

Soarin then brushes his mane and walks out and heads towards the stairs. He is walking down them and when he arrived at the bottom he heads towards the enterence when he bumps into a cyan mare. "Sorry miss."

"That's fine." Replied the mare

Afterwards Soarin walks out and the mare walks in and Soarin stopped and took a quick look to see the mare again. But she is gone and Soarin just shrugged his shoulders and took off and flew around Ponyville.

Rainbow Dash just entered her room thinking about the stallion she bumped into and wonders who he is? And why did he look familiar? She then shrugged her shoulders and looked through her bag until she finds some dye for her mane and tail. She then went into the bathroom and checks on them to see they don't need any work.

"Well so far so good."

She then puts it back into her bag and heads on out and thinks about heading to that one bakery that she saw while coming into the town yesterday.

She then exits the motel and heads in the direction of the place she learned is called SugerCube Corner.

When she arrived her first impression of the place is that it looks like a giant gingerbread house. "Impressive place." She said to herself as she is walking inside.  Once she went in she noticed on one side is some tables and straight on ahead is a blue stallion with a white and blue mane. When she walks up the stallion says "Hello and welcome! I'm Pokey Pierce and what can I get you?"

Dash then glances over the food and says pointing to some cupcakes. "I'll have some of those strawberry cupcakes please."

"Sure thing miss."

The stallion then pulled out two of the cupcakes and a napkin and when he puts them on the counter he then says "That will be six bits please."

Dash then pulled out six bits and placed them on the counter and took the cupcakes and napkins and went on towards a table that's in a small corner near a window.

A few minutes later Soarin then walks into SugarCube Corner a cleaned up and his mane combed down. He walks up to the counter and says "Is there some apple pie here?"

"Yes sir. Finest apple pie around these parts. And the apples are from Sweet Apple Acres."

Soarin smiled "Great. Can I get a piece of it?"

The stallion then bends down and pulls out a piece of the apple pie while saying "That will be five bits sir."

"Thank you."

Soarin then takes it and walks around and sees that only one table has an open seat. And a cyan mare is sitting at it with a book and eating some cupcakes. He shrugged his shoulders and walks up to her and places the pie down and says "Excuse me, may I sit here?"

The mare then looks up at him and for a second there was silence until "Sure. You can sit here."

"Thank you."

After Soarin sat down the mare went back to reading and Soarin then drugs into his pie. For the next few minutes both of them sat there minding their own business. Though Soarin keeps on glancing at the mare wondering why she looks familiar. Though unknown to him the same mare steals a few glances at him from behind the book.

"So what's your name?" Said Soarin

The mare almost jumped at the question but catches herself replying "Rain."

"Well Rain I'm Gust." Replied Soarin 'Gust'

"Nice to meet you Gust."

So then both 'Gust' and 'Rain' sat at the table eating and making small talk. After an hour 'Rain' then starts to get up saying "Well it was nice talking to you Gust."

Soarin then gets up and replied "Same here." When Rain starts to walk out Soarin the walked up to her "Do you mind if I walk you back?"

'Rain' gives him a strange look but then says "Guess I won't mind."

Both of them then exited the building and starts to head in the direction that Soarin seems to recognize. Though he assumed that she lives nearby until they came on the same motel that he is in. "Huh, who would've thought we live close to each other."

"Yea who would've thought." Replied Rain.

Soarin then went forward and holds the door for her and followed her in when she walks up to the front desk and he is right behind her.  When he is standing there he can't help but notice her cutie mark is familiar. "That's strange. She has the same cutie mark as, Rainbow Dash. Wonder if, no it's maybe just a coincidence. There are many pegasi mares with Rain in there name. But still, a Pegasus with the name Rain and a familiar cutie mark? Wonder if..."

Soarin then cleared his throat and says "Rainbow Dash?"

To his surprise she turned around to say "Yes?" But what came more of a surprise was when she then went wide eyed and bit her bottom lip and ran up the stairs.  Soarin then shook his head and ran after her.

After some running and flying up the stairs Soarin then catches up to her in the hallway outside her room. He then slowed down saying "Dash, is it you?"

"Who are you? And how do you know me?"

"Dash it's me Soarin. You know your friend since flight academy."

Dash then took a closer look at him until realization dawned on her. "S-Soarin?!"

Dash then walks up to Soarin and takes a much closer look at him when a smile comes on her face and says excitedly "Soarin! I can't believe it's you!" She then jumped at him and started to hug him and all Soarin could do is smile and hug her back. Soarin was about to say something when starts he hears something. "Wait! Is Dash, crying? I never known her to cry."

Soarin then pulls his head back and says "Dash what's wrong?"

Dash wiped her eyes with a hoof she said "It's that, it's been four years Soarin since we saw each other."

"Yea it has been four years." Replied Soarin

Dash then starts to bite her lips and backs off which makes Soarin feel concerned. "Dash, what is it?"

"Nothing." She replied

She then looks away and was about to head in until Soarin puts a hoof on her shoulder and says "Hey Dash, how about I come in. We can at least tell each other what we've been up to."

He then noticed she was smiling and says "Sure Soarin."

Ten minutes later Soarin and Dash were in her room talking and laughing about the old days. Soarin also signed out of his room and signed up into Dash's or 'Rains' room under his name of Gust. Soarin even ordered some drinks of cider for him and Dash and both of them are drinking it in mugs and sitting on a couch.

"Really!" Exclaimed Dash "Fleetfoot did that!?"

"Yea. Her and High Winds were racing and whoever win has to kiss Lightning Streak."

Both of them laughed at this and Dash wipes a tear drop from her eyes from laughing to much.

"You are lucky you have some good teammates. All my team is made up of soulless ponies. Though one BatPony is good. Her name is Night Fury."

"At least you have one friend. One member on my team is bit of a bossy pony." He said hanging his head.

Dash after hearing this rubs a leg with a hoof and says "Well, I have something not good either. Like a stalker follows me around and my teammates seem not to believe me. Though my friend does."

Soarin was a bit shocked after hearing this and wraps a wing around her. "Look I'm sure whoever this stallion is if he wants you he has to go through me first."

"Really Soarin?" She said while looking up at him

"Really Dashie."

Dash then looks into his eyes and Soarin looks into hers and there was silence. Until Dash then cuddles up to him and Soarin smiles and pets her head with a hoof and wraps both of his wings around her. "I'll protect you Dash, from this stalker, my team, your team and anypony that doesn't want us together. That's a promise I'm going to keep."

Chapter 6: Together

Soarin is flying around over a field outside of Ponyville trying to find Dash in a little game she suggested that same morning after both if them woke up in each other hooves. He was about to go off when something catches his eye. Shen he looked over in that direction he ended up scratching his chin.

"Could've sworn one of these clouds moved."

He then flies over to the cloud that he thought moved. When he gets closer he then started to hear giggling and he then smiled and raised his hooves over the cloud and slammed down on the cloud which caused a loud yelp to come from it and a cyan blur came out and gloated in midair.

"Well Soarin. It only took you almost an hour to find me."

"I'm just good Dash." He replied

Dash then laughs and says "Well then race you to that hill." She then pointed towards a hill in the distance and Soarin then nods his head and smiles at this. Both of them then flew off at high speeds towards it.

When they are flying Soarin can't help but think the past three days both him and Dash spent together. Sometimes they raced, played pranks on some ponies, some days they just laid together on a hill just to relax. And every night they slept in the same bed in the hotel just holding each other.

Soarin is ahead of Dash until she came up beside him and winked at him and pulled on ahead of him and he can't help but smile at how good she is. He then lands and sees Dash sitting on the hill with a big smile and saying "Well I beat you again."

"Come on I did best you once." He said walking up to her

"That was one time. And my wings were aching." She said with a humph

Soarin smiles and jumps at her to tackle her which it caught her by surprise and both if them ended up rolling down the hill together.  When they reached the bottom Soarin finds himself under Dash with her hooves on his shoulders and she's smiling frown at him. "Pinned you again Soarin."

"I'll get you soon."

"That's what you said the last time." She replied

Soarin can't help but laugh and say "Well, it has been what? So long since you pinned me like this?"

"If I remember you were flying so fast and ending up tackling me and somehow I ended up on top of you." She said with a slight blush

"Yea. Flight Academy was so long ago." He said moving a hoof along her front leg

Dash then lays on him saying "Yea, wish we could live like that again. Those were good times."

Soarin then starts to pet her mane and wraps his other hoof around her and puts his head on her shoulder. "Hey Soarin, when did you started to have feelings for me?"

"Sometime at the ceremony four years ago."

Dash then picks up her head and looks at him with a surprised look "Really, well I started to like you sometime after that."

Soarin then gets a surprised look and says "Huh well then I didn't take you as a romantic type Dash."

Dash then playfully hits his shoulders and says "Well I can be. But don't expect it all the time." She was about to lay on him until she then gets a worried look which causes Soarin to get worried. "Dash, what's the matter?"

"Well today us our last day together and tomorrow we have to go back to our jobs and I'm just worried we may never see each other again. And I'm a bit worried what our teammates might think when they find out about us."

Soarin then sits up with Dash on his lap and lifts up her head and looks into her eyes saying "Don't worry. If you must know we can set up our vacation data on the same day and we meet up near," Soarin looks out of the corner of his eyes and sees a lake "that lake which isn't to far from Ponyville. And I'm sure our teams won't get suspicious about anything."

Dash then smiles at what he said and did something Soarin was completely caught off guard: She kissed him on the lips and hugged him which made them fall backwards.

After they kissed for a minute Dash then pulls back she then says "Well Soarin, when's your next day off?"

Soarin thinks for a minute and replies "Two weeks from now. I have a two day break."

Dash then smiles "Well that's good to hear." She then stops and thinks and says finally "Think our friends Fleetfoot and Night Fury can be trusted? I'm just saying we need somepony to cover us."

"I'm sure those two will help us."

Dash then leans in again and kisses him again and at first it was just the two of them kissing until they start to roll in the grass and started to make out.

After three hours Soarin and Dash went towards the train station to say their goodbyes.

"So Dash, see you in two weeks?" Asked Soarin

"Yea, I'll try. And one way we can keep in touch is through the fan mail. Mine will be Rain and you be Gust." Suggested Dash

"Sounds like a plan Dash."

Both of them then giggled and kissed each other on the lips again.  Dash then moved her saddles around and went off towards the train station and Soarin watches her go with a smile on his face. Though he is sadden it had to end so soon, but he then thinks

"I'll be waiting Dash. Just two long weeks got us."
> Chapter 7: Confrontations

Chapter 7: Confrontations

Dash enters the HQ with a small skip in her step. She then decided the first thing she's going to do is to go to her room and start writing a 'fan' letter to Soarin and she wonders if Soarin is going to do the same thing. As she was thinking this she didn't see a grey hoof extend in front of her and when she bumped into it she at first was angry and turns her head to see who it was. But as soon as she did her eyes went from anger to fear.

"So my little skittles. How was your vacation?" Said Shade

Dash was at a loss for words until she finally says "None of your business Shade."

"Oh I think it is my business Dash. Since I am the Co-Captain of this team."

Dash was about to move his hoof when suddenly she was rammed into the wall standing on her hind legs with Shade pushing his body against her. "Come on Dash, why are you playing so hard to get?"

"Please leave me alone."

Shade laughs and leans in until their for heads are touching. "Dash, my little Dash why not admit it and let me have my fun."

He then moves one of his hooves along her wings and Dash then tries to push him away at the same time. But when she tries to push him away he just gets closer.

"Shade stop! Don't make me report you!"

To Dash's dismay he just laughs at her comment and says "Sorry Dash but it is just me and you here and no one gets back until later. And what proof will you have of it anyways?"

Dash then bites her lower lip and realize that he is right. She gas no proof of any of this. Even when he followed her he always have a perfect excuse to even be there.

When Dash is thinking of this Shade then leans in and kisses her neck which caused her to flinch a bit and she is trying her best to not give him any satisfaction of her submitting easily. He then kisses her on the cheek and when Dash thinks that he was going to do something he then backs off and says "See you later Dash. Hope we get to have more fun later."

He then walks away laughing and all Dash could do was slide down the wall and put her head in her hooves and tries not go cry.

And the last thing she hears him say "And Dash tell this other colt friend that you may have that you are already taken."

Dash looked up at him glaring at him and runs off towards her room. And when she arrived she then jumps in bed and pulls out a picture from her saddlebag of her and Soarin sitting on a cloud with one of his wings wrapped around her and she has her head under his chin. When she looks at it she then starts to cry and grabs a pencil and paper and writes a letter.

Soarin arrived at the HQ and walks into the lounge and sees part strange sight: Fleetfoot and Rapidfire sitting on the ouch snuggled together. He then smiles and walks by them quietly and when he walks by them he then heads down a hallway that leads to his room.

When he puts down his saddlebag he was about to sit at his desk when a voice sounded at the door "So Soarin how was your trip?"

He then looks up at it and sees Fleetfoot standing at the enterence smiling. "It was fun Fleet."

She then came in and sat on the bed which caused the bag to tip over and a cyan feather falls out. When Fleetfoot sees this she then gets a big smile and says "So whispers the lucky mare?"

Soarin quickly turns around and sees Fleetfoot holding a feather whom he recognize as one if Dash's feathers. "Well uh, that's -"

Fleetfoot laughs at his muttering and says "Come on Soarin, you can trust me. And from the looks of this feather you two seem to think of each other more then a simple one night fling."

"Well yea we do." Replied Soarin

"Nice. And if you are wondering how I know this Soar, if you read some history you would learn that in ancient times when a stallion Pegasus and a mare Pegasus have feelings for each other they give each other one of their wing feathers."

"I know that. And yes I gave her one of mine."

Fleetfoot then puts the feather on his desk and says "So who us she?"

Soarin at first scratches his head and after a few minutes he finally says "Rainbow Dash."

Fleetfoot now has a surprised look and says "Whoa! The Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash! Dear Celestia you know how to pick them."

"What? You don't think she's good enough?"

"Actually the opposite, from what you told me about her, though I never noticed it before, she sounds nice." She then walks up to him and oats him on the shoulder and says "And if you need any help just ask me ok?"

"Ok thanks Fleetfoot."

After she left Soarin then shakes his head and starts on his letter to Dash.

Night Fury walked into the building after a hard days work last night. When she walks through the lounge she noticed Shade walking out the room. She raised an eyebrow at this and remembered that Rainbow should be back. She then walked towards her room. When she arrived she could here what sounded like crying. "Wait! Dash never cries."

She then knocks and she then hear what sounded faint. "Come in."

As soon as she enters she sees Dash on her bed with signs of her crying. "Let me guess, Shade?"

When Dash nods her head Fury then growls and slams her hoof into the wall "Dear Luna! How mess up can this team get?"

Dash doesn't say anything and stares at an envelope with a letter to Soarin. When Fury sees it she walks up to it and says "Let me guess, that's to your coltfriend?"

Dash again nods her head and Fury then smiles and replied "I can deliver it for you if you want."

Dash then smiled and hoofs her the letter and Fury takes it and heads out. "Wonder what it says? No, can't look at other ponies mail."

She then stuffs it under her wing and walks down the hallway that leads towards a mailbox outside.
> Chapter 8: Young Lovers

Chapter 8: Young Lovers

Two weeks later Soarin is waiting at the same spot that he and Dash agreed to meet up. Also he has a worried look because the letter he received made it sounded like she was having trouble with this Shade colt. Though he can't seem to understand why this Shade wants her. He us glad though that Fleetfoot was able to cover him and he can now meet Dash.  He was waiting until he hears something and when he turned around a blur jumps out and him and this pony rolled until they landed in the lake.

When his vision cleared up he then sees Dash right above him smiling down at him and he smiled back.

"She's even good looking wet."

"Miss me Soarin?" She said

"Maybe a little." He replied

She then giggled which Soarin founded cute. Dash then gets up off of him and starts to jog off yelling back at him "Try to catch me Soarin!"

Soarin then gets a hunter like look and gets up fast and starts to run after her.  Both of them run about halfway around the lake before Dash seems to slow down and before Soarin can stop he then tackles her and he finds himself on top of her.

"Did you allow me to catch you?" Said Soarin

"Maybe." Replied Dash giggling

Before he could to anything Dash then wraps her hooves around him and pulls him close and hug him. Soarin gets a confused look and asks "Is everything alright?"

He then hears Dash sigh and say "It's just that Shade came at me again."

"What did he do this time?" He said with a bit of venom in his voice

"He, he tried to get me to do what he wanted."

"Don't worry Dash, you don't have to tell me." Soarin said pulling her in close. He thinks for a bit. Though most of it is about Shade and what he is going to do to him if he harms Dash. He then starts to pet and oat her head and sits up with her on his lap.

"So Dash, what do you want to do now?" Asked Soarin

"Well, how about we just sit here for now."

Soarin smiled at this and says "That sounds alright."

Soarin and Dash then sat there holding each other and just sitting there. Though unknown to them, a pair of eyes were watching them from a nearby bush with an evil look right at Soarin.

Later that evening both Dash and Soarin walked towards a tent that Soarin seemed to had set up himself. Dash inspects the tent for a bit and seems a bit impressed by it.

"Wow Soarin, I didn't know you went camping before."

"I didn't. I bought the stuff from Ponyville this morning." Said Soarin

All Dash could do is be even more impressed. When she opens it she looks inside and sees at one side there's some bags, a lantern, some canteens and one big sleeping bag in the middle. When she sees that it could fit two ponies she sort of blushes a bit and giggles and walks in and gets on top of the bag. Soarin then walks in and sees her there and smiles as he closes the enterence of the tent.

When he then turns around he sees Dash on her back with her hooves stretched a bit upwards. He then starts to blush a bit which made her giggle a bit. Soarin then shakes his head and heads towards her.

Outside though just a few feet away from the tent, the unknown watcher glares even more from what he is hearing from the tent. All he could hear is laughter, giggling and some moaning. The pony even started to grind his teeth and says in a very low whisper "So Dash, that's your coltfriend. You just made a big mistake Wonderbolt."

He then walks off thinking what to do.

The next day Soarin finds himself awake and the sun in his eyes. He covers his eyes a bit and when his eyes finally adjusted he sees Dash on top of him with her hooves and legs all around him and even his tail is around her tail. At the sight of this he smiles and gently moves her off of him and he then stretches a bit. He then walks up to the entrance of the tent and opens it and after he heads out he closes it halfway. He then walks off towards the lake to clean up a bit.

As soon as he arrived he dunks his head under water for a bit and as soon as he brings it out he then shakes his head for a bit. Any water that's remaining is flowing down his neck and onto his shoulders. He has his eyes close for a bit remembering last night and thinking about what him and Dash could do.

But when he opened his eyes he catches a dark shadow behind him and before he could react everything goes dark.
> Chapter 9: The Stalker

Chapter 9: The Stalker

Rainbow Dash wakes up and rubs her eyes for a second and when she finally opens them she looks around and sees Soarin isn't around. She also sees that the tents entrance seems to be left a bit opened. "He must be outside for now. Maybe I'll just wait a bit."

She then stretches for a bit with her back towards the entrance not noticing a shadow of some pony is coming towards the tent. She then starts to hear the zipper of the tent and she smiled "Well Soarin what do-"

She then suddenly stopped. Right in front of her is Shade. The pony that was stalking her.

"Shade! What are you doing here? And how did you find me?"

Shade then laughs and says "Oh Dashie, I've been keeping a close eye on you. And when I found out you had some vecation days coming up, I just simply did the same and followed you."

Dash then mentally face hoofed and says "Look you better leave or Soarin will-"

"Will what Dash?! He won't be doing anything now."

Dash now is in fear and is backing away from him. She then tries to plan how to get out and pass him and make a fun for it. Shade though seemed to know what she is thinking so he decided to jump right at her causing her to try to jumped to the side of him.  But Shade noticed this so he grabbed her by her mane and brought her to the ground hard. Before a Dash could respond Shade then gets on top of her and seemed to made sure she doesn't move a lot.

"So Dash, where should I start?" He said in a seductive like tone glancing over her body.

Dash tries to struggle some more until Shade kisses her on the neck and nuzzles her shoulder and sniffs her. "Lavender, what a sweet smell." He said "And something else, guess it doesn't matter now."

He then moves up her neck slowly kissing her on the way. Dash tries to move her head away until he started to kiss her on the cheek and moves up to nibble on her ear. Dash moans a bit. Though she regretted it because Shade took it that she's enjoying it and keeps on doing it.

He then stops for a bit and is about to kiss her on the lips when she gets a hoof free and hits him hard. Unfortuantly his head was smacked to the side and when he turns back he had an angry look that made Dash shiver a bit. "You shouldn't gave done that. I was going to treat you nicely but I now gave to be rough."

He then hits her across the face with a hoof and whispers into her ear "Try anything like that again and I'll cause you more pain." He then sets himself on top of her and bites her neck and this time Dash moans out in pain. Though Shade took it as pleasure. He then moves down and over to her wing and starts to lick her feathers. Dash then tries to move out of his grip until he then folios her on her belly so fast she bumped her chin on the ground.

He then leans in close to her ear and says "Can't let you do that."

With one hoof he holds her down while the other moves down her back towards her flank and tail. When he gets to her tail he then pulled on it hard which made a Dash scream a bit.

"P-please stop Shade." Said Dash crying a bit

Shade then laughs and doesn't say anything and kisses her on the neck. "Oh Dash you really turn me on." He then moved himself on top of her and positions himself with his fore hooves under her shoulders. Dash's thoughts start racing knowing what he's going to do. "Soarin, where are you?"

Shade then smiles and starts to wrap his back hooves around her flanks saying "Well Dash, you've been good so far."

Dash can't seem to find her voice and tears come out of her eyes.

Soarin awoken suddenly and rubs his head. He then looks around and sees a branch to one side and what appears to be hoof prints that lead up to him and heads off towards the tent.

"Dash!" Yelled Soarin

He then runs off towards it until he sees the tents flap is open and what he hears he will never forget: he can hear Dash screaming and moaning. And not in a good way. He then quickly cones up to it and what he sees shook him to the core: An unknown pony is on top of Dash. And before he could say anything he then runs in grabs the pony by the mane and was able to loosen him off of a Dash and throw him out the tent. Shade then flew out and made a skid mark on the ground.

He then gets up and sees Soarin at the tent. He then laughed and says "Well Soarin, I guess you can recover fast."

Soarin just glared at him saying "You will pay for hurting Dash!"

"Then bring it blunderbolt!" Yelled Shade

Soarins animal like instincts kick in and he charged at Shade screaming.

Chapter 10: Wonderbolt vs. Shadowbolt

Soarin crashed into the ground when he charge at Shade. And Shade lifts his head up laughing and says "Come on! I thought you were Dash's knight in shining armor."

Soarin then gets up and shakes his head causing some dirt to come off his mane. He then looked back at Shade glaring at him. Instead of charging at him again he then circles around. Shade after seeing this does the same thing. Both Soarin and Shade circled each other for about five minutes until Shade charges forward and tackles Soarin in the chest. Soarin stumbles backwards a bit until he regains his balance and slammed his hooves down on his back which caused Shade to go on the ground.

Shade kneels down for a bit and then uppercuts right at Soarins chin. Soarin stumbled onto his back and and when he opened his eyes he sees Shade jumping up and has his hooves up like he was going to hit him hard. Soarin then quickly rolled to one side and as soon as Shade slams into the ground Soarin then kicks him in the head and got back onto his hooves. Shade then tuns his head and wipes blood off of him.

"You are good Soarin. But I'm better."

Shade then charges at him and punches him in the chest. Soarin winces in pain and punches him in the gut also. Both Soarin and Shade then traded punches one after another. It contined for minutes until Soarin pulls back one hoof and before Shade could do anything Soarin then brings it forward and punches him so hard he flew backwards into the lake. Shade tries to get up but Soarin gets in top of him and blindly punches him in the face.

Shade takes blow after blow until he punches him in the gut which Soarin stumbles backwards and both Soarin and Shade kneeled in the water now trying to get some air. Soarin looks up at him still with anger in his eyes and tries to think what to do next. Before he could do anything he hears a snickering from Shade.

"Come on blunderbolt at least make this fun." Sneered Shade

Soarin barely moved knowing that he may fall for something. When Shade sees he is not coming at him he decided to do a different approach. "Hey Soarin, Dash sure is pretty."

Soarin then raised an eyebrow at this. "Now what is he up to? And why bring up Dash?"

"I'm sure she was pleased with what I did to her."

"No way!" Shouted Soarin "She never even liked you!"

"Well she was having a good time with me. So good that in fact she wanted more of me."

Now Soarin is so mad that he flew right at Shade that when he hit him, Shade was a bit surprised. Both of them then rolled on the ground and into the lake again that when they came up Soarin had Shade in a choke hold. Soarin was about to choke him until Shade barely says "Hey Soarin, if you must know she was so pleased that she cried out my name."

Now what happened next nopony could've saw. Shades plan was to get Soarin to loosen his grip but instead Soarin did something unthinkable.

"GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

*SNAP!*

Shades body falls to the ground with his head turned a way that it shouldn't turn. Soarin is on all four hooves breathing heavily and looking at Shades limp body. ""What, what have I done!?"

Soarin then sat there upset and slamming his hooves into the water. "Wonder if Dash would understand? Heck I wonder if anypony would understand."

He then gets up and starts his way towards the tent.
> Chapter 11: Bad News

Chapter 11: Bad News

Rainbow Dash awakens and the first thing she noticed is that she isn't in the tent. She then sits up and rubs her eyes and looks around. The first thing she noticed is that she's in a cloud home and that it's morning by the suns position in the sky. She then looks beside her and noticed that there's some medical supplies on the nightstand next to her. She then sees a calendar and notices that she must've been asleep for a entire day. She then tries to get up but seem she can't.

She then sees that one eye seem to be shut. She then looks into a mirror and on one side of her face is some bandages. At first she doesn't know what happened until all of it comes back in a flash. She then puts down the mirror and shudders thinking she's with Shade. Before she can think the door opened and her heart started to beat fast until in comes Fleetfoot with a tray. When Fleetfoot sees her up she smiled and says "Good your awake."

Fleetfoot then walks up to one side of the bed and puts the tray in front of her and on it is a daisy sand which and a cup of apple cider.

"Where...where am I?" Said Dash confused

"You are in a cloud house that Soarin bought that's outside of Ponyville." Replied Fleetfoot.

Dash then takes a better look out the window and sees the small town as clear as day. She smiled at first, but she then friend and says "But where's Soarin?"

Now it's Fleetfoot turn to look worried "To be honest, I hadn't seen him since yesterday when he came to get me to come here. Seems like he was guilty about something and brought you here. Though when I tried to ask him what's going on he just hung his head and says nothing and flew off."

After hearing this Dash then hung her head for a while until a thought comes up "Wait. How and when did Soarin get this house?"

"Seems like he found this house like a few days ago and found out it was for sale. So he used his own bits so that Spitfire or any other pony will know."

"So what about the team?"

"Strange thing, Spitfire gave everypony a two week vacation. Don't know why and she said that this morning."

Dash was about yo ask something when a BatPony, whom Dash recognizes as Night Fury, comes crashing through the door with a newspaper in her mouth which she's pitted out and says "

Dash and Fleetfoot look and what they see shook them to the core: On it is a picture of Soarin in front of the court house in Canterlot being escorted by some royal guards towards it. And above the pic shook them even more.


Wonderbolt charged with murder!

Dash, Fury and Fleetfoot arrived at Canterlot after hours of getting ready and hopping the next train to the city. Though when they started out Fleetfoot advised Dash shouldn't be up. But Dash would hear none of it and all Fleetfoot and Fury do is go with her and make sure she is ok during the trip.

When they arrived the first thing they noticed is the many ponies around that probably heard the news are are here to find out if it's true. Dash and her friends continue onwards while trying not to stand out by wearing simple hats and scarves.

When they gotten where Soarin is being held thanks to Fleetfoot by asking a guard and giving him an autograph for his daughter for the info. They then head towards the dungeons which is in the lower part of Canterlot. When they arrived they noticed about six guards in the front and about eight seem to be on the roof.

"Wow, this many guards for one pony?" Said Fleetfoot

"Yea. Soarin isn't dangerous. Just misunderstood." Replied Fury

Dash ignored them and walked up to the fate and says "Hey, I'm here to see a friend."

"Name of prisoner?" Said the guard

Dash bites her lower lip and thinks until she finally says "Soarin."

The guard looks at her with a surprised look "Why should I let you in? Many of his fan fillies came by saying the same thing."

"Please, let me see him. He's a very dear friend of mine."

"Yea right and I'm the princesses son. Now get lost missy."

Before Dash or any of her friends could say anything a navy blue stallion with a brown mane and tail comes up and says "Dont worry officer, they are with me."

The guard seemed to recognize him and nods his head and allows all four of them in. As soon as they enter the building Fleetfoot comes up to the stallion and says "And you are?"

The stallion turned to her and replies "Oh sorry, I'm Mister Soarins attorney of this case."

"Well at least somepony knows he's innocent." Said Fury

"Well to be honest, this is not my first case."

"Well are you at least successful?" Said Fleetfoot

The stallion didn't replied and before Fleetfoot could repeat the question all four of them arrived and sitting at a table alone Dash sees Soarin. She then smiled and ran up it him and hugged him suddenly. Soarin with a shocked look sees her and says Rainbow! What are you doing here?"

Dash then pulls back her head and looks into his eyes and says "Well I received this mornings paper and you were on the front page."

All Soarin could do here us roll his eyes and looks towards the stallion and says "Hello Attorny Ace."

Ace sat down across from him and lifts a briefcase onto the table and opens it and says "Well Soarin how about we get this started."

Soarin then nods his head as Dash, Fury and Fleetfoot sat down.

"So tell me Soarin, seems like this is a problem. Though there hasn't been a murder case like this for over a thousand years." Said Ace

"But I did it in self defense." Said Soarin

"I know. Though seems like every other pony thinks differently."

Soarin then hangs hugs head. When Dash sees this she then wraps Soarin around with one of her wings and says "But how could they? I mean it was just Soarin and Shade alone."

"Yea I know that. That's why I need to know why and how Soarin and Shade were alone in the middle of some random place."

"Well I assure you he is innocent."

Ace then raises an eyebrow at Dash and says "And what is your relationship with Soarin?"

Before Dash could say anything Soarin then says "This doesn't concern Rainbow."

"Ok then Soarin. I just assumed you two were a couple." Said Ace

Soarin and Dash looked at each other nervously and this seemed to tip off Ace and he then says "Wait, you two are a couple?"

"Well yea we are. Just don't say anything." Replied Dash

"Ok I won't."

"Whys that?" Asked Fury

"Well the press will even have a bigger field day with a story of a Wonderbolt and a Shadowbolt being in a relationship." Replied Ace

"How good are you?" Asked Fleetfoot

Ace then rubs his head saying "Well, to be honest I never won a case."

"What!" Said Dash "And we are supposed to put our faith in you!?"

"Look, all you have to do is have faith."

Before a Dash could say anything Soarin puts a hoof on her shoulder and says "Dash, I have faith in him."

"Why Soarin?" Asked Dash

"Don't know but somehow something told me to choose him."

Dash then sighs and simply put her head on her shoulder. All the while Fleetfoot rubs her chin and says "Has Spitfire come in Soarin?"

"Yea she did. She was mad about what I did and wondered why I did it. And no Dash I didn't tell her. Though she was angry when she left. Heck she even questioned why I chosen Attorney here. She even tried to get me on bail."

"Wow, what's with this Spitfire?" Said Fury

"Don't know. But I know she has a temper." Said Soarin

Ace then sits there thinking until an idea pops into his head "Ok, maybe we can do this. We just need to convince Celestia that you did it in self defense. Though to be honest we may have to tell her and everyone there about you twos relationship."

"Well if it comes to that, I guess we will have no choice." Said Dash surprisingly

"Well we are all in agreement." After he sees all of them nod their heads he then smiled and says "Well then the court is in two days. And I should het my assistant Twilight working on the research about something."

After he gets up and walks off Fleetfoot then says "What does he mean by something?"

"I don't know." Said Soarin

Chapter 12: Court Case Part 1 

Rainbow Dash is laying in a bed in a hotel she went to the day before after she visited Soarin. Though it is morning she didn't feel like going to the courthouse. So her two friends Fleetfoot and Fury decided both of them will go to it and tell her about it later. Though she agreed to it she just lays in the bed bored and still tired and hoping Soarin is going to be okay.

While at the court house in Canterlot many ponies are gathered around and even reporters, photographers and journalists are outside. There are even some of the royal guards outside to keep the crowd under control. While inside is somewhat empty with only a few ponies outside talking to each other. Even further down is two large doors that leads into the room. And on both sides are seats for different ponies to sit. Though in this case the room is divided into two sides. One side thinks Soarin is innocent while the other thinks he's guilty. A small barrister also is in the middle with two tables on each side.

Ace is at one table with Soarin and his assistant Twilight. At the other table is a blue unicorn, whom is a lawyer for the Shadowbolts and the Shadowbolts captain Night Wing is sitting beside him.

Soarin could only gulp at this and feels worried. The Shadowbolts lawyer, whose name is Sneaky Rich, is rumored to be the type that gets things done no matter what. Some say he bribes others to make things easier for the Shadowbolts. Soarin then looks to the front and Celestia walks in and everypony rises including Soarin and when she sits behind the podium everypony sits.

Celestia then clears her throat and says in a angelic voice "Now, let us begin."

The Shadowbolts lawyer Rich then gets up and comes up to her and says "Your majesty, we all know that you are busy. So I promise to make this short. You see Soarin over there is charged with killing an innocent pony and I can assure you that he should be punished."

After he is done Ace then gets up and clears his throat and says "Your majesty, my client may have killed a pony. But Shade, whom is the ponies name is, was reported for sexually assaulted a innocent mare."

"Objection!" Yelled Rich "My client wants to point out that he has no proof about Shade."

Celestia shakes her head "Sorry, but if you have evidence please present them."

"I don't your majesty."

"Then keep your accusations to yourself."

Ace then pauses for a second the continues by saying "Well then just as Rich said, I don't have proof. But neither does he."

Behind him, one of Richs ears twitches at this remark and Twilight is the only one to noticed it. Ace then says "Also Soarins reason for his actions is reasonable. Like say he was defending a mare."

Rich then walks up and replies "Well then who is this mare that he was defending?"

"Sorry, the mare wishes to remain nameless."

"Or maybe she is made up." Said Rich

"Enough! I will not let you two argue like a couple of foals." Exclaimed Celestia

"Yes your majesty."Both of them replied

Afterwards she then nods her head and Ace then says "Well then if you will allow me, I would like to call Fury too the stands."

"Granted." Said Celestia

Ace then turns around and nods his head and a BatPony mare walks up and sits in a chair next to Celestia.  After she came up she then sat down and Celestia turns too her and says "Fury, what can you tell us about Shade."

Fury then clears her throat and says "Well, first time I met him he was a fine stallion. Until at one show we did after it I saw him backstage coming onto a mare."

Rich then gets up saying "Well it's no secret that Shade is a bit of a playcolt."

Fury then continues on "Well that's what I thought first. But after a while one mare he came onto refused him and he got mad and hit her."

"Again she has no evidence." Shouted Rich

"Silence!" Yelled Celestia

Rich suddenly sat down fast after hearing her voice and kept silent. She then nodded to Fury while the Shadowbolts captain glares at Fury. She then glares back thinking at him "So what if I'm going too be kicked out. I'm staying by my friend."

"Well, you see I have a coltfriend in the guard and well I asked a favor of him and he found some things that is interesting."

Celestia raises an eyebrow and says "What things?"

"Well," continued Fury "Shade has had an affair with many mares. Some whom are married. He even sexually assaulted some of them and-"

"Stop that Fury!" Yelled her captain "Don't say anything else."

"You sir will sit there and keep quiet!" Shouted Celestia "

Fury then smiled and says "If I recall this isn't the first case where somepony said they were assaulted by him. Though I wasn't there the case was dropped for some reason."

Many whispers could be heard among the crowd and Celestia at first seems calm but only a few ponies could see anger in her eyes.

"And how did you Mister Ace and Fury come by all of this?" She said in an unnerving voice

"Yes your majesty. I would like Detective Shinning Armor to come up and explain it all." Replied Ace

She then nods her head at this. And when a white unicorn comes up towards the stand that Fury left, Night Wing and Rich both are getting nervous and are talking in hushed whispers to themselves. Twilight notices this and decided to cast a spell on her ears and points it towards them.

"This could be trouble! Are you sure you hid everything?" Said Night Wing

"Don't worry. What could that detective find anyways?" Replied Rich

Twilight then rolled her eyes and whispers "You two most definitely faced my brother."

After Shinning sat down he clears his throat and says "Well your majesty, I started on this case nearly three months ago when some suspicious activities were reported about the Shadowbolts. At first they were rumors until one too many cases of theirs were dropped and I took it upon myself to check up on them. Then when I heard about a few rumors that Shade was after Rainbow, well I just had to look into it."

"Hold on, I would like too know where those rumors came from?" Said Night Wing

"Sorry, I can't reveal that. Though let's say when he and Dash were seen in public it's kind of hard to miss how he was acting around her." Said Shinning

Though no pony can see it Twilight could tell the captain and his lawyer seem to know they are in trouble.

Chapter 13: Court Case Part 2

After Shining Armor presented his case Rich seems too have upped his game and presented some evidence that tells Celestia that Shade was a bit of a play colt he never harmed any mare. He even went as far as telling Shining Armor to bring forth any proof of this. And this keeps on and on for what feels like hours until Celestia stopped both of them and says "Alright! Let us take a thirty minute break."

So both parties left the room and Soarin, Ace, Night Fury, Shining Armor and Twilight went into an office to discuss their next move.

"Well, this is tougher then I thought." Said Ace tapping his chin

"Yea, that Rich seems too have a trick and an excuse to everything we have." Replied Shinning

"If only we could have something that would blow them away they can't think up of anything to counter."

So all five of them sat down thinking hard until Twilight went wide eyed and says "Well, if we could prove that Shade raped another mare we may win."

"I doubt that would work. All the mares he slept with could've been fans that wanted a chance to sleep with a Shadowbolt. I should know, many stallions wanted the same with me." Said Fury

"True, but what if he made a mistake and ran into a mare that he sexually assaulted."

"Where are you going to find this mare sis?" Said Shining with a confused look

Twilight ignored him and went up to Fury and says "Fury! Was there a time where Shade came back maybe different or came back from a hospital?"

Fury now is confused and says "Well, one time in Manehatten we were there for a show and he did went off after a mare. But I don't know who. Though he did come back the next day with a black eye and some scraps. Though all he said he had some fun at a bar."

"That's it! He probably assaulted a mare and was beaten up by her!" Said Twilight excitedly

"Huh?" Said everyone at once

"I'll be back. Just stall them until I'm back." Twilight said after running out the door.

"Twilight! If you must know that happened about ten years ago okay!" Shouted Fury

"All right."

Shining Armor then got up and ran after her. "Wait up sis! I'm coming with you."

Manehatten

Twilight and Armor arrived in the city in an instance after Twilight teleported them too the city. Armor shook his head and says a bit dizzy "Whoa Twilie, you sure are getting better at this magic stuff."

"Thanks." Twilight said with confidence

Both of them then walked around the city looking for the hospital even though Manehatten is a bit known for it. After nearly twenty minutes they finally arrived at the hospital. At first glance it's a bit small and seem too have barely any pony around. When they walked inside aim front of them they see a desk with a pink nurse behind it. Twilight comes forward in front of her and asked "Excuse me miss, I was hoping too get some medical records from about ten years ago?"

The nurse then looks up at her and says "Sorry. That is patient confidentiality."

Before Twilight could say anything Armor then comes forward with a piece of paper and slams it in front of her shouting "Miss! This here paper from the head detective Fancy Pants, grants me the right too examine anything and everything that revolves around the case I'm working on. And this hospital may have some important evidence that we need. So if you would help us we would appreciate it."

The nurse then quivers a bit and pulls up a computer and starts typing on it.

"There was no need for that Armor." Said Twilight disapprovingly

"Sorry. We are in a hurry though."

Twilight just rolled her eyes as the nurse stops and says "Well, ten years ago is a long time ago. What month would that be?"

"Mid Summer."

The mare again scratches her head and says "Well, there was only a few new foals were born around that time."

"Any one of them by chance from a mother whom is single?" Said Twilight

The mare again looks back at the computer and surprisenly says "Well yes there is only one single mare here that reported in."

Both Shining and Twilight looked at each other with a bit of surprise on their faces and Shining then says "And who is this mare?"

"Well she was just a young mare at the time and she moved too Ponyville. And her name is Applejack."

"Shining, are you sure you know where this Applejack lives?"

Shining and Twilight arrived at Ponyville on the fastest train too there and they been walking around for what appears to be minutes until Shining gotten directions from somepony he asked.

"Yes Twilight, it's just down this path that mare told me."

Both of them then found the dirt path that leads out of the town and in the distance they see a red barn surrounded by apple trees. Shining and Twilight then walked towards the barn until they see two red coated earth ponies by some trees bucking them and apples fall down. Shining then walks up to them and greeted them saying "Hello. I'm Shining Armor. Can one of you tell me where an Applejack is?"

The bigger red pony, whom is a head taller then Shining, looks down at him and says "Hello. And what may you need with my daughter?"

"Well I just need too ask her some questions about something."

He then looks at him with some confusion and then says "Big Mac, go find your sister."

"Eeyup." Said the smaller, whom is as tall as Shining, went off further into the orchard.  "Oh where are my manners." Said the stallion "I'm Apple Crisp." He then extends a hoof which Shining then took and shook it. Twilight then looks around and says "So Mr. Crisp, what goes on here?"

Apple Crisp then smiled at this and says "Well miss as you can see we harvest apples for a living. And we also make all sorts of apple related foods."

Before Twilight could say anything else they see Mac coming back and beside him is a orange mare wearing a Stetson hat.

"Thanks Big Mac. Now let us go help your mother and sister."

"Sure pops." Said Big Mac

After they left, the three of them then went into the barn and sat down at the table. "So you two wanted to talk too me." Said Applejack

"Yes." Said Shinig "Ten years ago in Manehatten you were assaulted by a Pegasus named Shade right?"

Applejack suddenly gets a surprised look and it turned into an angry look "Yes that no good son of a diamond dog! He raped me and when me and my family brought it to court it was suddenly dropped. Hope that monster gotten what's coming to him."

"Well thing is he raped another mare and well her coltfriend defended her and well killed him in self defense."

Applejack is surprised again at this and smiles a bit "Well then what do you need me for?"

Now Twilight then says "Well evidence is a bit thin and we think their lawyer and the Shadowbolt team are corrupt and if we can expose that then well we may win this case."

Applejack then taps her chin and before she could say anything a young orange filly comes in towards the kitchen and says "Hey mom, I was wondering where we keep the apple seeds?"

"In the cabinet above the sink."

The filly then nods and flaps her wings and hovered up to the cabinet and gotten the seeds and head back out. Twilight and Shining were surprised too see this and Shining then says "I assume that filly was the one that was born ten years ago?"

"Yep. Her name is Scootaloo. The only good thing that came out of him." Replied Applejack

Twilight then smiled at this and Shining also smiles and says "Twilight, I think I know how we can win this."

Chapter 14: Court Case Part 3

Later in the afternoon the case resumes with everypony coming back in including Shining and Twilight arriving after every other pony arrives. Twilight old be seen with what seems too be a bunch of files in her magic. Ace looks at her and she then sat beside him and whispered into his ears. And what she said too him made his eyes go wide and before he could say anything she then winks at him and whispers to him "Good luck. You'll know what to do."

Now this caused Ace too get nervous but also gain some confidence in him. He then straightens his red tie and takes a quick peek at the other table and sees Rich and the captain seem to be in a hushed discussion. Ace then gathers his papers and thinks "Well time to get to work and show everypony what justice can do when it works hard."

Celestia then enters and sits in her seat and says "Let us get this done. The offense can go first."

Rich then gets up and stands in front of Celestia saying "Your majesty, we all know you are busy so I'll keep this brief and short. As I was trying to explain before, my client wishes that we punish Soarin too the fullest extent of the law for his murderous actions against Shade whom was an honest citizen and yes I agree some of his actions were questionable. But I would like too point out he acted like any celebrity."

He then bow his head and Celestia then looks at Ace and says "Do you have anything to say defense?"

"Yes your majesty." He then walks up too her with the files and says "Well just like the offense said, Shade maybe was an honest pony. But at some point I got to thinking, what if Shade participated in actions so bad and looked down upon not even his team knows about it."

Celestia then raises an eyebrow and says "What do you mean defense?"

"Well I'm just saying what if Shade sexually assaulted other mares?"

Suddenly hushed whispers can be heard in the crowd and Rich stands up and says "Objection! This is just something they are making up!"

Ace then points a hoof at him and says "And I object too your objection because I have proof about certain things. Like Shades medical records and something that was interesting. Like a pattern of sorts."

Ace then pulls out a group of papers and hoofs them to Celestia saying "See here? Shade was diagnosed with a sort of mental disability. Something that only appears when he was younger but yet never in his Shadowbolt record. You could say it's the type of disability of a pony that seems to developed of a pony whom was sexually assaulted themselves when they were younger."

More hushed whispers can be heard until Celestia got them to quiet down and say "So Shade was abused when he was younger?"

"Yes your majesty. And thanks to detective Shining Armor, he found out it was his mother whom did the assault and from what I learned, his father actually left them which caused his mother too do this. So as you can see he had this condition and it might've took all his will power to control himself. Until he sees a mare with something that is familiar to his mother. Like visit color, mane color, eye color and anything else."

Rich again stands up and says "That's nice and all. But that doesn't prove anything."

"It proves a lot because Shade has a daughter. A daughter of another mare he raped ten years ago!"

"And where is this young filly?" Said Celestia

"I would rather not say. But we did get her DNA and when a friend of Shining took a look at it it's a match too a part of Shades DNA."

Now Night Wing can be seen sweating and even Rich is shaking in his hooves. And when Ace gives Celestia the DN A a evidence she is shocked and says "So, you are saying that whomever this other mare that Shade was about too rape recently may have been assaulted also like this mare ten years ago?"

"Yes. And this mare is the marefriend of my client whom could've defended her unlike the mare from ten years ago. Whom had no pony to protect her." Ace then takes a deep breath and continues saying "And in accordance to a certain law if evidence were too appear saying that if pony were to say kill or harm another pony in self defense then all charges would be dropped."

Celestia then puts a hoof to her chin and thinks for a bit and says "In light of this recent evidence seems like the guilty party is none other then Shade and Soarin is innocent. And a full investigation should take place into the Shaowbolts too see if they knees of this of not."

Night then nervously gets up and says "But we have nothing to hide!"

"Then you have nothing to fear. If you are innocent then you are. If not then me and Luna must take drastic action."

She then slams the gavel down and says "Case closed."

Cheering then could be heard and  Soarin then breathes a sigh of relief. Ace then sat on the floor and Twilight came up to him and wraps a hoof around him and says "Well now, you won your first case."

"You mean 'We' won our first case."

Both of them then laughed at this and hit up and heads on out. Rich and Night can be seen in a heated discussion outside. And Shining is also seen talking to Fancy Pants. Soarin, Fleetfoot and Fury then walk out of the building smiling and laughing.

"Well that was interesting." Said Fleetfoot

"Yep. Twilight and Ace are good." Replied Soarin

Fury then taps on his shoulder and says "Well I know of a certain mare that would be glad too hear about this." She then nudges his shoulder and winks at him causing his eyes to suddenly get a look of rememberence and he then flew off.

"How much you want to bet those two are going to make out when he arrives?" Said Fleetfoot

"Hmmm, I think they are going to talk first, head off somewhere then make out." Replied Fury

Both of them then laugh and Fury says "So want to hang out?"

"Sure. There us this one place I know we can go too where we can grab us a couple of stallions and have fun."

Both of them then laugh again and walk off.

Chapter 15: Soaring Rainbows

Soarin raced to the hotel that Fury told him where Rainbow is staying. While also dodging any of the paparazzi. "No time for that! I need too see Dash!"

When he finally arrived he then went in and gotten her room number. By the time he arrived he is out of breath and he then decided to rest a bit and took a few deep breaths and smoothed out his mane in the process. While he was doing all of this he was trying too think of what to say.

"Come on, just go for it."

He then lifts a hoof and knocks on the door and waits for a minute until the door opens a little then suddenly opens fully. Soarin then sees Dash standing at the doorway with her mane in a mess and what looks like she was crying.

"Dashie, are you alright?"

Dash stands there for a second until she quickly rubs her eyes and says "Well actually I am now after seeing you here. Guess it went good?"

"Yes Dash it did."

She then smiles and comes up to him and hugs him by putting her front hooves around his neck and nuzzles his neck. Soarin then pats her back and says "How about we head to my place in Ponyville?"

Dash then looks into his eyes and says with excitment "Yes! I would love too. But why?"

"Just to get away from the press and for us to spend some time together alone."

Dash giggled and went back inside and packed a few of her things and both went off out of the building and just in time since in the distance they can see dome popperazzi ponies looking around. Both Soarin and Dash then ducked into an alleyway and flew off.

After an hour of flight both Soarin and Dash arrived at his home and Rainbow finds herself leaning into him as he opens the door. But as soon as he did standing in the living room is Spitfire.

"Captain! What are you doing here?" Said Soarin surprised

Spitfire then walks up too them and says "Well, when the news of the case reached me I was worried. Though from what I see everything is well."

"Thanks for that. Now what else do you want since I see news travel fast."

"Well I just want to say sorry for anything that happened between us. And well I suspected you were seeing a pony just never knew who."

Dash then comes forward and says "So now that you know, what are you going too do?"

Spitfire then smiles and says "Well nothing. Since I can see you two are happy and belong to each other. Just one thing, what are you two going too do?"

Soarin and Dash looked at each other and he says "Well, me and Dash were thinking about quitting both teams."

Spitfire then shakes her head and replies with a sigh "Well, I know both teams are going to lose two very talented pegasi."

She then walks up too them and hugs both and says "Well good luck you two. Hope you have a good long life." She then went out the door and closes it after her and flies off smiling.

Soarin and Dash then looked at each other for a minute until Dash says "Well, Spitfire seems nice."

"Yea. Guess after what almost happened to me she had an attitude adjustment."

Both of them then laughs until Dash wraps a wing around him and says in what appears to be a sultry voice "So my strong pegasus, what shall we do now?"

Soarin then blushes at it and stutters out "Well, I was thinking some dinner."

"With dessert?"

"Depends what you want as dessert." Soarin said with a smile

"Dash then smiles and traces her tail along his back and under his chin as she walks towards the bedroom swaying her flanks and saying "Hope you don't mind if we have dessert first."

Soarin blushes a bit more so much that his face resembles an apple. "O-of course. Dessert is my favorite."

He then follows her into the bedroom and he sees her on the bed and he smiles and then closes the door after him.

Epilogue

It has been a year since the incident. The Shadowbolts were caught in a huge scandal that Night Fury is the new captain and her first job is trying to rebuild the team that took a lot of work. And now the Shadowbolts are back too their normal selves with a new team and new ponies like Lightning Dust, Thunderlane and many others.

Twilight and Ace both became the most famous tag team of lawyers that there ever was. Both were able to find things and put criminals to justice. With the help of Head Detective Shining Armor. Even Celestia and Luna are impressed by them.

Spitfire now is a better pony. Though that doesn't stop her from being hard only on any new cadets that comes her way that want to join the Wonderbolts. And Fleetfoot is her new Co-Captain on the team.

As for Soarin and Rainbow Dash, Soarin is the head weather pony in Ponyville and Dash became his second. Though rumors are both are finding ways too be alone together since everypony knows they are a couple. After three months of dating Soarin and Dash gotten married and all of their friends came too the wedding and to wish the new couple well.  They even invited the Apple family since Dash and Applejack became friends since both of them went through similar experiences in the past.

Both Soarin and Dash find themselves at the little cottage that both know full since a year ago both met at the same place in secret. Both also decided it's the perfect spot for their honeymoon. Soarin is holding Dash in his lap and both are watching the sunset together. Soarin has a hoof of his rubbing her belly while the other is holding one of her hooves. Both of their tails are even around each other. Dash sighs and Soarin noticed and says "What is it Dash?"

"Nothing. Just thinking how much we went through together."

"Yea." He replied and kisses the top of her head.

Dash giggles and suddenly flips over and pushes him too the ground. Though Soarin doesn't mind and pulls her in for a passionate kiss and Dash returns it. Both of them stop for a bit and Soarin says " Love you Dash."

"Love you too Soarin."

Both of them then continued laying on the ground both with smiles on their faces.
