Twilight Sparkle sat quietly on the stool, carefully pouring the contents of one test tube into another. She was about to pour another test tube of purple liquid into the one she was levitating when she heard something going thump, thump, thump behind her. As she turned to see what it was, she saw Pinkie Pie, falling down the stairs, with her other four best friends walking carefully behind her.

"Girls! I'm so glad you could make it!" Twilight cried, running up to greet her friends and help Pinkie up from her unusual position that she had fallen into, with her feet inside her tail and her nose touching her flank.

"It took us a while to find this place." Rainbow Dash replied. "Spike was asleep and the door to this place was locked so we had to find the key. But it was all worth it to see your AWESOME lab! But... do you think it was a good idea to invite Pinkie Pie?"

"You mean, 'Do you think it was a good idea to invite RAINBOW DASH!?!'" Pinkie shouted, looking Dashie in the eye and smiling cheekily.

Rainbow Dash pushed her head up against the pink pony's and growled. Pinkie jumped up onto Fluttershy's neck in mock fright, all four feet off of the ground. Fluttershy couldn't handle the earth pony's weight, and toppled over, falling into a shelf and causing jars of bugs to crash to the floor next to Rarity's hooves. Rarity jumped backwards, knocking into another shelf. She fell down onto her back, knocking her head on the ground and causing her horn to shoot a blue laser beam at Applejack. The beam hit Applejack square in the chest, knocking her into another shelf. This one was full of books. The books fell onto Applejack and Rainbow Dash, covering them completely. Twilight rushed to help them. As she started to pull the books off of her friends, one last book fell from the shelf and hit her on the head, knocking her to the ground.

As Twilight lay on the cold concrete floor looking at her friends rubbing the sores they had inflicted on themselves, she realised that this was going to be a long day.

Magenta flicked a switch, turning her spaceship onto autopilot. As she leaned back in her chair, she decided to go over her unauthorised mission.

She was going to Dreamland to assassinate King Dedede. The other two star warriors that mission control had sent there, Meta Knight and Kirby, had not completed their goal yet. Kirby was too kindhearted and young, while Meta Knight was under strict discipline training, and so was unable to kill anybody until he finished it, unless the world he was protecting was under direct threat of being destroyed.

Kirby also had the downfall of not being able to read, or speak native tongues. This ability had been replaced by his copy ability; the ability to be able to transform into any non-food item he ate, so he could only speak the language of the star warriors.

Magenta herself was a skilled swordswoman, much like Meta Knight, but without the help of wings. She was also a master of disguise and had a sharp mind and quick thinking.

As her ship drew closer to Dreamland, she smiled. This will be as easy as taking candy from a baby. She thought. Or, taking life from an overgrown penguin...

Twilight Sparkle had found the perfect solution to her problem. She had frozen the hooves of her five friends to the ground with a special magic spell, and had also frozen Pinkie's mouth shut, just to be sure that she had no distractions.

"OK!" Twilight said out loud to her friends. "I shall be conducting a very, VERY important experiment. I need total concentration. One wrong move, and Equestira could be in for a disaster, got it? Good. Now, If you'll excuse me..."

She turned around and continued her experiment. She was just about to pour a bowl of extremely spicy sauce into a test tube when she heard a soft voice from behind her.

"Um, excuse me..."

Twilight got so startled that she dropped the bowl of sauce. It landed face down on the table, making the other test tubes jump around in their holders. The spicy condiment, being made out of mostly acid, made a hole in the table and dripped onto the floor, making a sizzling sound as it ate through the concrete.

Twilight spun around quickly, a look of frustration on her face. "What?!?!" She asked gruffly, looking the yellow Pegasus in the eyes.

Fluttershy shrank backwards. "Um... I was just wondering... um... what would happen if the experiment... um... went... wrong."

Twilight sat back on her haunches and threw her front hooves into the air. "I don't know!" She shouted. "Maybe a bunch of adorable but dangerous creatures would appear, and we would have to catch them inside little red and white ball-like capsules and use them to battle other creatures so that we could catch them too!"

She then produced a ball of blue light from the top of her horn. It went speeding off towards Fluttershy. Before the shy pony had time to even blink, her mouth had been shut tight.

Twilight looked at her other friends. "Now..." She said. "NO MORE INTERRUPTIONS!!! Understand? Good." The last thing she saw before she turned back to her work was the frightened faces of her friends.

There. She thought. They won't be talking again for a long time. A very long time...

Kirby sat on the hill, slowly chewing the delicious cake that his friend, Fumu, had baked for him after he had defeated the vicious sorcerer, Yin-Yarn. It was a delicious cake; a sponge cake with jam in the middle, covered in homemade whipped cream and lots and lots of different fruits.

As he finished off the last few crumbs, he noticed a sparkling object flying in the sky. After closer inspection, he noticed that it was a spaceship, much like his own, and it was heading straight for him!

Kirby quickly ducked as the spacecraft flew over his head, almost knocking him out. It crash-landed on the other side of the hill.

Kirby, as curious as ever, rushed to see if he could find anything interesting.

Once at the bottom of the hill, he saw something very strange. It looked exactly like him, only a darker, more purple colour rather than pink. The star warrior also had longer eyelashes, and orange shoes instead of red, like his.

At first Kirby thought that he was looking at a strange, discoloured mirror. That is, until the strange person stepped forward and shook his hand.

"Hello there." The girl said. "You must be Kirby."

Kirby nodded his head.

"Good." The girl responded. "My name is Magenta, and I need you to help me with something..."

Twilight was trying her hardest to keep her head. In the past minute, she had to freeze all of her friends' mouths shut, due to coughing, sneezing and loud sighing that interrupted her work.

She was just about to add the final ingredient to her test tube, one drop of dragon spit, when she heard a loud humming sound coming from where her friends were.

Twilight spun around quickly again. Her hair had become messy and her face was red with frustration. Then, she saw what was wrong.

Pinkie Pie's face had become completely red. Twilight noticed that the ice she had made to cut off the sound from her friends mouths and the ice on their legs had grown. The ice on Pinkie's face had grown to cover her nose, and she couldn't breathe.

Twilight became very worried. She quickly grabbed a book from a nearby bookshelf, knocking down the other books that she had just finished replacing in their proper order.

She quickly flicked through the pages of the paperback. "Where is it where is it where is it where is it..... HERE!!!" She shouted as she found the page that contained the reversal spell. She quickly cast it, removing the ice from her friends' legs and faces.

Pinkie Pie took a deep breath. Twilight lent forwards, waiting to hear what the pink pony had to say. Pinkie didn't say anything. Instead, she fell sideways. The earth pony had fainted.

Twilight got back to her work. This is going to be a tough one to figure out...

Kirby listened as Magenta explained what she wanted him to do.

"You see," She said, "King Dedede and I are... good friends. We like play a little game together called "Surprise Surprise", where we go to each other's house and leave a surprise. We need to hide it somewhere where we think that the other person will never find it. The person who finds the surprise the fastest wins! I'm the champion. I found mine in only 5 minutes! But, I have somewhere to be, so I don't have time to hide my surprise for him. Could you do it for me?"

Kirby stared at her for a moment, letting all the new information sink in, before nodding his head vigorously.

"Good!" Magenta smiled, handing a small gift to Kirby. "Now, make sure that you have a good hiding spot for it, and then see me back here at twenty-four hundred hours."

Kirby stared at the girl blankly.

"That means midnight." Magenta giggled.

Kirby nodded, and took the gift. It had a small tag on it, with words that Kirby couldn't read. He didn't mind, though. It was probably just to tell Dedede what it was.

As Kirby bounced off happily, Magenta smiled to herself.

"Now that Kirby is out of the way, it's time for the second stage..."

Twilight had finally found a permanent solution to her noise problem that didn't involve freezing her friends. She simply put up a magical sound-proof barrier that sat between her and the other five ponies. Now she could finally finish her potion in peace...

The CMC walked along Main Street with their heads lowered. They were bored. Very bored.

"Why wouldn't sis' le' us come with 'er ta watch Twilight do ha' ex-per-i-ment thingy?" Applebloom whined.

"Maybe she wanted us to work on getting our cutie marks?" Sweetie Belle asked helpfully.

"Yeah, right." Scootaloo replied. "More like they want us NOT to get our possible cutie marks for potion making."

"Yeah, that's kinda funny," Applebloom added, "'Cause Zecora didn't let us either. I wonder why..."

Sweetie Belle stopped walking suddenly. She had seen a rat sneaking around in an alleyway. Then she had an idea.

"We could get out cutie marks as rodent exterminators!" She cried, grabbing her two friends by the necks and pulling them into a big hug, the thing she usually did to get their attention.

The earth pony and the Pegasus stared at her for a moment before their faces burst into huge smiles. Sweetie let go of them, happy that her idea had been acknowledged.

The three fillies put their hooves together. "CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS RODENT EXTERMINATOR CUTIE MARKS!!!"

Kirby was having trouble thinking of where to hide the gift.

Well, first thing first. He thought to himself. This gift is going to need a disguise...

He suddenly noticed a Waddle Dee walking past, and had an idea. He quickly spat out a piece of paper that he had swallowed earlier, as well as a couple of crayons, and started to draw.

This is what he drew:

He then spat out a pair of scissors, (Goodness knows how he managed to swallow those.) and cut it out carefully. He then stuck the picture of the Waddle Dee to the front of the gift.

"Perfect." He said to himself, although he knew nobody would be able to understand him.

He took the present and started running to Castle Dedede...

Meta Knight stood on the top branch of a tree. He had finished his day shift, and was enjoying his half hour break before his night shift. He had taken his mask off, and it was lying next to him. It wasn't very often that her got a chance to have some fresh air. Whenever he got the chance to have a break, it would constantly be interrupted because he was constantly asked to help the townsfolk with their problems. And, he didn't know it yet, but that was exactly what was going to happen again...

"Meta Knight! Would you come down here?"

Meta Knight sighed and put his heavy, iron mask back on. He then floated down out of the tree, using his wings to control the speed of his fall.

Once he landed, he soon saw who had called him. It was a pinkish-purplish female star warrior.

"What do you want?" He asked gruffly.

"My name is Magenta. I saw Kirby earlier this day, you see. He was carrying a small present. I asked him what it was and he said that it was a big surprise for King Dedede. I heard it ticking, and I think that it might be a bomb!" Magenta cried.

Meta Knight stood where he was. "I don't think that Kirby would want to harm anybody, not even the king." He replied simply.

Magenta stepped closer to him. "Well," She said, running a hand down his cheek, "If things go wrong, I know you will do the right thing." She giggled.

Meta Knight could feel his cheeks glow red. "I... You have my word, m'lady."

Magenta walked off. "Ta-ta!" She cried out. "Teach that Kirby a lesson!"

Twilight was sweating as she added the final ingredient to the test tube.

One drop out of place and it could explode! She thought, tipping the tube containing the clear liquid of the dragon spit sideways slightly. One single drop fell out, and then...

BANG!!!

A cloud of blue dust came out of the tube.

"I'VE DONE IT! I HAVE DONE IT!" Twilight cried, jumping out of her seat.

She quickly got rid of the magical barrier letting her friends out so they could see her achievement.

"Um..." Rarity mumbled, getting closer to the blue cloud rising from the tube. "What exactly is it supposed to do?"

"I HAVE NO IDEA!!!"

Kirby quietly tiptoed into Castle Dedede. All of the Waddle Dees were mysteriously asleep, but Kirby didn't care. He was having too much fun.

As he walked inside the main throne room, he pondered on where to hide the cute little gift he had been handed. He finally decided that the best place to hide something was in clear view, and placed it in from of the throne, the drawing of the spear Waddle Dee facing the main door.

Kirby quickly raced out of the room. Dedede is going to enjoy this! He thought.

He couldn't be further from the truth...

Twilight and all of her friends, excluding Pinkie Pie who was still in a state of unconsciousness and was lying on the stairs, leaned in closer to get a good look at what Twilight had created.

The blue cloud slowly spiraled around, making an oval shape in mid air. Then, a yellow cloud started to grow in the middle. This cloud also spiraled outwards, making something that looked like this:

The five mares ooohed in unison.

"What is it?" Asked Rainbow Dash.

"I think it is a portal to another dimension!" Twilight exclaimed.

Rainbow raised her hoof up to the portal, only to have Twilight to smack it with a rather hard book.

"Are you crazy?" Twilight yelled. "Don't you know anything?!? Dimension hopping is dangerous!!! VERY dangerous!"

If I can say one thing, it's this; always listen to Twilight. The main six were about to find that out the hard way...

Kirby sat on the hill, the same hill on which he first saw Magenta. The pinkish-purplish star warrior had moved her spaceship, and they were nowhere to be seen. Kirby didn't mind, though. He was too caught up in wondering what the gift was.

Was it a cake? A small toy? A diamond?!? Kirby admitted to himself that he would probably like the cake better, but, then again, he was not Dedede, and Dedede was not him.

He suddenly heard a muffled boom sound, coming from Castle Dedede. Kirby, as curious as ever, rushed to see what had caused it.

As he got closer, he heard some shouting.

"When I find that Kirby, he is gonna be in such big trouble!!!"

Kirby recognised the voice. It belonged to Dedede. Kirby didn't think much of it, though. King Dedede was always blaming Kirby for everything. It was better to just keep calm, and flutter on.

When Kirby came into Dedede's sights, he was instantly attacked by a herd of Waddle Dees, which the star warrior soon got rid of by jumping over them and letting them beat up each other.

Kirby had landed safely on the ground when, suddenly, he was picked up by the top of his head, and lifted so that he was face to face with a very angry King Dedede.

"So... try'en to blow up me an' my castle, are ya?!?" The king shouted. "Luckily, I was out for some special business! What does you have ta say for ya'self?"

Kirby didn't say anything. He didn't have time to. He had been knocked out of Dedede's flippers by...

"Meta Knight?"

Kirby stared up at the masked knight, who was currently standing on top of him.

"You don't believe King Dedede, do you? You know that I would never do such a thing!"

Meta Knight didn't answer. Instead, he threw Kirby a crumpled box, wrapped in white paper with a red bow, Identical to the one Magenta gave him, only squashed.

"I have reason to believe that this belongs to you..."

"No! It.."

"But you did have it earlier this day?"

"Well, yes, but..."

"And it contained a bomb..."

"Yes, but... Wait, A BOMB?!?!"

Meta Knight drew his sword from it's holder. He tried to stab Kirby's head, but the pink warrior was too fast, and rolled out of the way. The sword became stuck in the ground. Meta Knight tried to pull it out, but it was held tight. Kirby saw this as an opportunity and body-slammed the knight in the side. As Meta Knight was flung sideways, the sword flew out of the ground and landed next to Kirby. The young warrior sucked it into his mouth, and transformed into Sword Kirby. Meta Knight had a spare sword, and drew that one out of the holder as well. He swung it at Kirby, who blocked the attack.

While that battle was taking place, Magenta had snuck up behind Dedede, who was thoroughly enjoying watching the events of the battle take place. She drew a knife out of midair, and stabbed the penguin in the back. At least, that is what was supposed to happen. Dedede had heard the purple star warrior, and blocked her attack by flinging her into the air with his big hammer, just as she made her move. Magenta was a rather good acrobat, though, and landed on her two feet, unharmed. Using magic, Magenta then made her knife longer, transforming it into a sword. She swung at the king, who dodged her attack.

Kirby noticed the lady star warrior attacking the king, and so rushed up to help him. Meta Knight, confused as to why the pink warrior was running away, chased after him.

Just as Magenta was about to swing her sword and Dedede again, Kirby pushed her, hard, causing her to fall to the ground, and for him to fall on top of her.

That's when it happened.

A blue and yellow spiral suddenly appeared in front of the four. It began to suck them in, like Kirby sucking up a cake until in flies into his mouth. The four tried to run away, but the sucking was too strong, and they were sucked up.

One of the Waddle Dees from the herd of Waddle Dees that had attacked Kirby rushed up to the spiral, trying to save the king. It didn't work so well, and he got sucked up as well.

And with a small thwoomp! the portal closed.

Twilight was explaining to her friends about how dimension hopping is dangerous, and boring them to tears, when, suddenly, the group of five mares where knocked out by something that flew out of the portal.

Pinkie Pie suddenly woke up. She was very surprised to see her friends in a pile, with a small pink ball lying on top of them.

The pink ball suddenly woke up and looked up at her, rubbing his eyes. That pink ball happened to be Kirby. When he saw Pinkie, the jumped backwards in fright, giving a small shout.

Pinkie flinched backwards. "Hold on, there!" She said, "I'm not going to hurt you!"

She took a few steps forward. "What's your name, little guy? My name's Pinkemena Diane Pie, but you can call me Pinkie!"

Kirby stared at the hyperactive pink pony for a while, before responding. "My name is Kirby!!!" He smiled, jumping up and down. Then, he stopped, remembering that nobody would understand him unless they spoke the language of the star warriors.

Pinkie Pie, though, seemed unfazed. "Well then Kirby..." She said. "Would you mind getting off of my friends?"

Kirby looked down. He was standing on a bunch of other ponies. He chuckled sheepishly before jumping onto Pinkie's head.

"Thanks!" The pink pony replied. "You know, I think my friends will really like you! We just need to wait until they wake up..."

Meta Knight awoke in a dark place with a big headache. When his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw that he was in a dark alleyway, and that his mask was missing.

"Finally awake, I see." Said a voice behind him.

Meta Knight turned around. Magenta was sitting on the floor, polishing his mask with a cloth. He walked up to her.

"Can I have my mask back, please?" He asked, before covering his mouth. He never tried talking without his mask on, and his voice had lost it's deep tones completely. He sounded just like Kirby.

Magenta chuckled. "Here you go." She said, throwing it at him, hard. He flew backwards and hit the wall of the alley. The mask rolled back to Magenta.

The magenta coloured star warrior walked up to Meta Knight calmly. "You know," She said, "You're really cute without your mask..." She leaned in and placed a small kiss on his nose, causing him to blush.

Meta Knight waved his arms around wildly. He looked a bit dumb, but it did what it was supposed to. Magenta jumped back in fright, tripped on the mask, and fell to the ground. Meta Knight put his mask back on, and then went and helped the young lady up.

"Wow," Magenta chuckled. "Real chivalrous of you, cutie. Scare me away and then help me up. I can never understand boys."

Meta Knight didn't answer. Partly because he didn't know what to say, but mostly because he saw three small figures standing at the mouth of the alley...

Waddle Dee number 17, or Steven, to his friends, was having a very bad day.

After jumping through the strange portal looking thing to save King Dedede, he had fallen into a strange place. Soon after, he was caught by three black, male unicorns in suits of armour and brought to his knees in front of two alicorns, one white and the other blue, both with flowing, ethical hair.

"Strange creature," Celestia said to Steven, "What are you and where do you come from?"

Steven got up from his knees. He would've opened his mouth to answer, but he didn't have a mouth. He didn't need one back in Dreamland, because all the Waddle Dees and Doos talked to each other in sign language, or through charades.

Let's just hope that these ponies are smarter than they look...

He started acting out what he was by waddling like a penguin.

"Ooh!" Smiled Luna. "Are we doing charades? Let me guess... Penguin? No. Duck? No, you wouldn't be a duck, would you? Um... Waddling..."

Steve nodded quickly.

"Ooh! So you're a Waddle?"

Steve nodded, and then started acting like he was singing.

"Um... singing... Opera? A Waddle Opera? No, that doesn't sound right... Sound! La? Do? Dee?"

Steve nodded quickly again before the princess could guess again.

"Ooh!" Luna giggled. "So you're a Waddle Dee! The fun has been doubled!!!"

Celestia groaned. He sister was having more fun than she should be.

"This is going to be a very long day..."

The Cutie Mark Crusaders were standing in front of a rather large alleyway. They were trying to find rats, but all they found were...

"Um... Giant beach balls? With arms? An'... clothes? That... talk?"

Scootaloo shook her head. "I don't think that beach balls talk, Applebloom. Or have arms..."

"But teddy bears do!" Sweetie Belle smiled. Her friends stared at her.

"Um... you know, those ones that sing when you pull the cord?"

"Oh, tha's ri!" Applebloom smiled. "I use ta have one o' those as a baby!"

Scootaloo squinted into the dark. "I don't think that those are teddy bears..."

Sweetie Belle didn't listen. Using the little magic that she had, the grabbed her two friends by the hair and pulled them besides her as she slowly walked into the alleyway. After a while, Scootaloo and Applebloom got tired of having their feet dragged painfully across the ground, and trotted up in front of the overenthusiastic unicorn, stopping her in her tracks.

"We can walk, you know." Scootaloo told her.

Sweetie Belle blushed and let go of their forelocks. Suddenly, she heard a shuffling noise coming from behind the earth pony and the Pegasus. The two quickly jumped behind her, springing into their "Rat Exterminator" poses.

Sweetie Belle suddenly burst into laughter. Her two friends stared at her. "You... You're scared of a couple of rats and two teddy bears?" She laughed.

While the three fillies where distracted, the teddy bears, Meta Knight and Magenta, started to back away slowly.

"I don't think that they're hostile creatures, Meta Knight." Magenta whispered in the language of the star warriors.

"You can never be too careful." The blue knight whispered back.

"Well, I guess I'm just going to have to take a chance..."

Twilight awoke from her uncomfortable position, only to almost faint again at the sight of Pinkie Pie playing cards with a pink beach ball with red shoes and hands.

"Pinkie? What are you doing? What is this thing?" Twilight shouted, jumping out of under Fluttershy and rushing towards the duo.

Pinkie and Kirby dropped their cards and looked towards Twilight.

"Oh, hiya, Twilight!" Pinkie smiled, getting up. "This is Kirby! He came through that weird portal thing you made. Say hi, Kirby, and tell Twilight what you told me."

"Hi!" Kirby said to Twilight, although it came out more like a cute ya!

"Aw... he's so cute..." Twilight giggled, patting the star warrior on the head. "I could just eat him up.... Wait. Pinkie, did you say that he came through the portal?!?!"

"Yes, but..."

"Pinkie Pie! I told you already! Dimension hopping is dangerous!!!"

"Hey!" Pinkie shouted. "It's not his fault! Kirby, tell Twilight about what happened and how you came here."

Kirby did as he was told, but Twilight didn't understand a single word.

"What the hay does all that mean?" Twilight asked.

"You mean, you don't understand him?" Pinkie asked. "Or are you just pretending that you don't know because you want this to be a dream? Because it's not a dream."

Pinkie sighed. "He says that he is from a land called Dreamland, which is in another dimension. He and his friends, Meta Knight, Magenta and King Dedede were brought here to Equestria after being sucked into a portal, identical to the one that appeared in your lab. And now we need to round them up and bring them home before anything bad happens. He also told me that, whereas he can't speak our language, his friends can."

"And you're the only pony from our world who can understand him?"

"Pretty much, yeah! Um... what were we talking about again?"

Twilight jumped onto the desk, knocking a couple of jars off in the process, and raised her hoof into the air triumphantly. "Kirby," She said, "We will get you and your friends back to Dreamland no matter what!"

Unfortunately, things are never that easy...

Will the main six be able to re-unite Kirby with his friends (Including Steven)? What will happen if they don't? Will they even be able to find a way for them to get back to Dreamland? Also, where the hay is Dedede? Find out next time in Act 2: Dedede's Crystal Labyrinth!!!

Act Two: Dedede's Crystal Labyrinth

View Online

When we last left our heroes, they where in multiple different sets of problems. Kirby had only just managed to become friends with the very worried Twilight Sparkle, Meta Knight and Magenta were trapped inside an alleyway with the CMC blocking their way out (I know, REAL scary!), Steven, or Waddle Dee Number 17, was trying to make the princesses understand him using only sign language and his terrible charade skills, and Dedede was nowhere to be seen, and probably still unconscious, or maybe even dead! Will Twilight be able to find the Kirby's friends before something bad happens to them, like getting tickled into submission by the CMC? Find out!

Magenta calmly walked forwards, towards the CMC. Meta Knight tried to stop her, but tripped over his cape and fell on his face.

The CMC started backing away as Magenta got closer. Seeing this, Magenta started to speak.

"We mean you no harm." She said, "My name is Magenta, and my colleague here is Meta Knight. We are from a peaceful land called Dreamland, and we need your help..."

King Dedede awoke in a very strange and scary place. It was a dim cave, with millions of holes and glowing green walls. The holes seemed to be crawling with bugs of some sort, with green eyes. This place was definitely not Dreamland.

He was suddenly picked up off of the ground by the top of his coat.

"Hey! Put me down! I am the king and I demand you to PUT ME DOWN!!!" He yelled.

He was suddenly spun around. He came face to face with a tall, green haired, black alicorn with bug wings, cat-like eyes, holes in her legs and horn, and very sharp teeth. Dedede was being held up by one of her front hooves. He became terrified.

"A king, you say?" The Changeling Queen cackled. "The king of what?"

"D-D-Dreamland." Dedede stuttered. "I'm the king of Dreamland."

Chrysalis looked Dedede up and down for a bit, but then almost dropped him in surprise. "Why, you're a penguin!"

Dedede crossed his arms. "So what? If you don't put me down, I'll set my Waddle Dees on you!"

Chrysalis put the angry king down. "You're not from here, are you?"

"So what if I'm not?" Dedede answered. "I'll just overthrow the monarch and begin my reign of terror!"

Chrysalis smiled. "Not much of a lover, I see."

Dedede shook his head.

"Well, then do I have a proposition for you..."

Waddle Dee 17, or Steven, was on a chariot in the air. He had finally finished telling the princesses Luna and Celestia about himself, and they had decided that a certain Twilight Sparkle would be able to help him to find Dedede and get home.

The two white pegasi at the front landed gracefully in front of the library. "This is your stop, Mr Dee."

Steve hopped off of the chariot and watched it fly away.

As he turned around, he noticed something very strange about the library. It was a tree!

He opened the door and peeked inside. Nobody was there. Walking inside, he noticed something sleeping on a pile of books. Curious, he went and poked it...

"Mmm... *snort* Ug... wh- what? AAAHHH!!!!"

Spike awoke suddenly, scaring Steven and causing him to fall over backwards.

"Twilight!!!" Spike shouted. "I'm being attacked by a orange beach ball with eyes!!!"

Steven tried to calm the baby dragon down by waving his arms. It didn't work.

"AAAHH!!! NOW IT"S TRYING TO HIT ME SO THAT I STOP YELLING!!! IT HAS ARMS!!! ARMS ARE SCARY!!!"

Waddle Dee 17 started to wonder what could've made the little dragon so loud, and why he was so easy to scare. He was a fire breathing dragon! He shouldn't be scared of anything! Steve wondered who was more scared; him or the dragon?

His thoughts were interrupted by footsteps, coming from the staircase...

Meta Knight and Magenta were on their way to Twilight's library, riding on the backs of the CMC. They had been asked many questions by the little fillies about things like where they came from, what they were, and who Kirby and Dedede were.

The group suddenly came to a halt. "Good news, everyone!" Applebloom said. "The library i' just down the road!"

The three fillies started running, only to be stopped by two other fillies, a pink one with purple hair and a grey one with grey hair. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.

"I thought that you were too old to play with toys anymore, Applebloom." Diamond Tiara mocked.

"Toys? What toys?" Applebloom asked, before realising that they were talking about Magenta and Meta Knight. "Oh, those toys. Those don't belong to me, they belong to..."

"Her cousin!" Sweetie Belle said.

"Yeah," Scootaloo continued, "We're bringing them back home because she didn't want them to get dirty!"

"Sure, your cousin! And... who exactly is this cousin of yours, Applebloom?"

"Um, er, ah.... Jerald Brown!" Applebloom answered. "Yeah. He's very young, only two years old! I didn't even know him until this morning!"

"I thought that you said that it was a she." Silver said.

Magenta, who was sitting on Sweetie Belle's back, whispered something into the white unicorn's ear.

"I also cut myself!" Sweetie said suddenly.

Magenta quickly got a knife out of mid air and cut the filly on the flank.

"Really?" Diamond asked. "Let's see it."

Applebloom and Scootaloo looked at her, wondering how the unicorn would be able to get out of the mess she made.

Sweetie turned around, showing the pink pony her cut.

Diamond scowled. "Well, I guess you should go then." She mumbled unhappily. "Come on Silver."

As soon as the two fillies walked off, the CMC sighed.

"That was a close one." Scootaloo said. "If they found out that you guys were inter-dimensional-whatever-it-is-you-call-yourselves then they would probably try to steal you, or something like that!"

"Luckily, they didn't, then." Magenta smiled. The fillies laughed, and then continued on their way.

Twilight rushed up the staircase.

"Spike!" She shouted. "What happened? Are you OK?"

"I'm up here in the bed!"

As Twilight got up the stairs and into the main room, the noticed a lump under the covers of her bed. Suddenly, Spike's head popped out.

"It's over there! Look!"

Twilight looked to where Spike was pointing. Behind a pile of books was an orange beach ball. It looked scared.

Pinkie walked out from behind Twilight, with Kirby on her back. As soon as the pink star warrior saw the frightened Waddle Dee, he jumped up and ran towards him.

Spike became hysterical at the sight of this. "AAAAHHH!!! There's more of them!!!!! We're under attack!!! Everypony and dragon for him and herself!!!"

He ran out of the library, quickly, before anything bad could happen. Or at least that is what he would've done, if he hadn't tripped over the first step of the staircase and fall down it, only coming to a stop when he was levitated by Rarity.

"Oh, you poor thing! Are you hurt?"

"Not anymore." Spike smiled.

Pinkie laughed. "Kirby is not going to hurt you, Spike! I don't think his friend will, either..."

She looked towards Kirby, who was currently hugging a very confused Waddle Dee 17.

Twilight came closer to the duo. "Don't worry, we won't hurt you." She said to Steve, patting him on the head.

Suddenly, Pinkie jumped up. "Where are the other two? Kirby said that three of his friends followed him!" She shouted. "We have to find them before somepony else does!!!"

The main six were about to get up to go look for them, when suddenly the door burst open.

The CMC came rushing into the library. "Twilight!" Scootaloo shouted. "You'll never guess what we found!"

Pinkie Pie jumped with joy when she saw Magenta and Meta Knight riding on the backs of the CMC. "You found Kirby's friends!"

The two star warriors jumped off of the CMC's backs, only to quickly get ambushed by one of Kirby's hugs. Well, Meta Knight was ambushed, at least. For some reason, Kirby seemed to really dislike Magenta.

"Well," Rainbow Dash said. "That was easy! We already found all three of your friends! Now, let's get you guys back home!"

Magenta blocked her from getting to the door. "King Dedede is still not here!" She told her.

"Why do you care about what happened to Dedede?" Kirby asked. "You're the one who tried to kill him!"

Magenta sighed. "I still stand on my decision, but when you're stuck in an alternate universe then sometimes you have to team up with your enemies."

Kirby crossed his arms and turned away. "Meta Knight," He said, "Tell Magenta that I'm not talking to her."

Meta Knight didn't do anything. He was on the other side of the room, being examined by Fluttershy.

"Ooh, what's this?" She asked, lifting up his cape. "Wings? Ooh, they would be useful, wouldn't they?" She walked in front of him, and tapped his mask. "Is this thing a part of you, or can you take it off?"

Meta Knight started to get annoyed, and so wrapped his cape tightly around himself, disappearing from view. This surprised Fluttershy.

"Where did he go? Was it something I said? Is he angry at me?"

Magenta chuckled. "It's his invisibility cloak. He'll follow us, I'm sure of it."

Rainbow Dash flew up. "What are we waiting for?" She asked. "Let's go find King Dedede!"

Applejack stopped her. "Now, hold on just one second!" She said. "If we're look'en for Dedede, then who is that lil' fella there?" She asked, pointing a hoof at Steve, who was being tickled into submission by the CMC with Twilight's quills.

Kirby whispered something to Pinkie, who translated it for the rest of the ponies. "That's a Waddle Dee; one of Dedede's minions. This one is called Steve."

"Well," Applejack asked, "If that's not Dedede, then what does he look like?"

"Whatever he is," Twilight told her, "It can't be as weird as what we've already seen..."

"So, you think that we're weirder that a giant penguin who wears a red cloak and wields a giant hammer?" Magenta asked, leaning against the wall with one hand.

"No, but... Wait, what? A penguin?"

"Well," Applejack smiled, ignoring Twilight, "Now that we know what he looks like, we better go find him! Yeeehaw!"

"We wanna come, too!" Applebloom said to her older sister.

"No, Applebloom. It's too dangerous. You stay here with Spike. We need somepony to look after the pets while we're away."

Spike suddenly dropped down in front of Applejack. "NOOO!!!! Please! I beg of you!" He cried, remembering what happened last time he was asked to look after the pets.

Scootaloo, feeling a bit cheeky, decided to put Spike into even more misery. "What he means is that he doesn't want you to go, because he doesn't want you to get hurt!" She said.

Rarity came up to the little dragon. "We'll be fine, my little Spikey Wikey!" She said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Just stay here, and we'll be back in no time!"

And with that, they went to find King Dedede. The main six where about to find out that finding the king was going to be easier than they thought. It was getting him back home that was going to be a problem...

"So let me get this straight..." Dedede said after listening to Chrysalis's proposition. "I help you take over this world, and in return I get to get rid of my lifelong enemy, Kirby?"

"Indeed."

The king pondered over this for a moment. "You have a deal!" He said finally, taking the changeling queen's hoof and giving it a firm shake.

"Excellent!" Chrysalis exclaimed. "Because phase one is just about to begin..."

The main six ran to the outskirts of Ponyville, with the star warriors and Steve riding on their backs. They had heard from a few of the locals about the sighting of a strange penguin (Well, OK, it was only one of the locals, but still...). They went along with it, even though it was only a very vague explanation from Derpy Hooves.

"There's a penguin over there." She had said simply, pointing off into the distance. It was the only clue the main six had, so they decided to roll with it.

As they reached the top of the hill, they saw Dedede, standing on top. Kirby, happy to see the king, ran up to him.

Meta Knight noticed something, suddenly. Dedede was... flickering?

"That's not the king..."

(Put THIS music on while reading this part. It adds a energetic atmosphere. End it when you see the *)

The ten suddenly heard powerful laughter filling the sky around them. Before you could say "Poyo!" they were suddenly split into groups of two by walls made of crystal. Since there was no roof, Rainbow Dash instantly tried to fly out of the trap. But she was instantly flung back to the ground with a zrrrch sound.

"Nice try, rainbow hair!" Dedede laughed from what seemed to be a speaker that had suddenly appeared in front of each pony. "There's a force field! Sentient creatures can't pass through it."

"What in tarnation are you doing, Dedede?" Applejack shouted. "We've gotta get you back home, and all you're doing is delaying the inevitable!"

"Be quiet, you country bumpkin! All you gots to do is get through this here labyrinth without die'n! Simple!"

But, as you know, nothing is ever as simple as it seems...

Meta Knight walked along the light blue crystal hallways, Fluttershy trotting quickly behind him. The little Pegasus was whimpering with fear every time she saw something new, like when she saw a strange shadow.

After getting scared for the tenth time in a row, Fluttershy curled up into a ball. "I can't do it!" She cried. "It's too scary!"

Meta Knight turned around. "We don't have time for this..."

Fluttershy lifted her head slightly. "I-I'm sorry... Go on without me..."

Meta Knight sighed. Note to self. He thought. Candy coloured ponies do not make good partners... I think I prefer Kirby...

He walked up to the shivering Pegasus. "Listen," He said, "I'm not going to let anything hurt you. Just follow me, and you'll be fine."

Fluttershy looked up at the star warrior "O-OK..." She got up and gave the blue knight a hug. "Th-thank you, Meta Knight. I appreciate it."

Meta Knight, feeling a bit uncomfortable, broke away from the yellow mare's arms. "Let's just get going."

Neither of them knew, but the end of the labyrinth wasn't that far away. Not far at all. It was getting out that was going to be the tricky part...

Pinkie Pie hopped happily through the labyrinth, with Kirby riding on her back.

"Why do you think that Dedede would do what he has?" Pinkie asked Kirby, hopping down another corridor.

"I don't know." Kirby answered. "Maybe he wants to know what the cake tastes like in this dimension, and so he is stopping us from going home until he gets a piece. That's what I would do."

The two giggled at the thought of this, but their happiness was soon interrupted by a loud rumbling.

"Wha-a-a-a-a-at's ha-a-a-a-a-a-a-apne-e-e-e-e-e-ening?!?!?" Pinkie said, her voice vibrating due to the ground shaking.

Suddenly, the floor gave way.

Rainbow Dash flew slowly through the corridors, still a bit sore from flying into the force field. She would've gone much faster if she didn't have Steve with her.

"You don't talk much, do you little guy?"

Steve shook his head.

"Can you even speak at all?"

Another shake.

"Why not?"

Steve stared at Rainbow, a look of bemusement on his face.

"Oh, right. No mouth. But then how do you eat?"

Steve was about to somewhat answer the question when about twenty robotic arms came out of the walls on either side of the corridor, each of them with a big hand on the end.

"WHAT THE....?!?!?"

The hands tried to grabbed the two. Rainbow Dash bucked one, ripping the hand off of the tube like arm and knocking it into another one, ripping that one off it's arm too.

"Oh, yeah! Two for the price of one, grandma!"

Steven quickly reached backwards, grabbing two star shaped things. Rainbow Dash soon realised that they were ninja stars. Steve threw them with a surprising amount of skill. They crisscrossed, cutting two of the hands off of their arms, before returning to Steve.

"Whoa! What else can you do?"

Steve winked at her, and then jumped onto her head. He suddenly pulled out a rake, which he swung around like a windmill.

As the hands got closer, they got ripped out of their sockets.

Rainbow Dash smiled. "You keep them away, and I'll find a way out! Hold on tight!"

She started zooming down the hallways, with Steve knocking away anything that the maze threw at her. The duo soon turned a corner, coming into a room that was much wider than the others. The roof was also taller.

They heard a phwoomf behind them. As they turned around, they saw that a door had blocked their way out.

But, that wasn't the bad thing. The bad thing was that they had a giant metal manticore standing in front of them...

Twilight trotted quickly through the labyrinth. She was panicking. Magenta was doing her best to calm her down.

"OOOOHHHH!!!! What if something happens to one of them!?! What if they get hurt?!?! What if...... What if...!?!?!" Twilight started to hyperventilate.

"Whoa!" Magenta said. "Calm down! Nothing bad is going to happen to them! I know that Meta Knight is a skilled swordsman, Kirby has amazing powers and the Waddle Dee probably knows how to take care of himself. I don't know about your guys though..."

Twilight took a deep breath. "Well..." She told the star warrior. "Rainbow Dash does seem to know how to use her strength to her benefit, Applejack has a rather strong buck, Fluttershy can do "the stare" and Pinkie Pie... Well, she's just Pinkie Pie! I'm not too sure about Rarity though..."

Twilight turned to Magenta. "Why doesn't Kirby like you?" She asked.

"Well," The star warrior answered. "It might have something to do with me trying to assassinate King Dedede...."

"You did WHAT?!?!"

"Never mind about that!" Magenta answered, trying to get off the subject. "What matters is that we find out why Dedede is doing all this."

Twilight nodded. "I don't think that he's doing this on his own." She said. "He probably has some sort of help from a pony. How else could he have made this giant crystal labyrinth so quickly? Unless for some reason the portal made him go back in time before he came here... Buuuuut, I think it's the first one. Better not to complicate things."

The two were suddenly stopped by a sound.

RRRRRROOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRR......

The two slowly turned around.

"Oh.... NOVA...... What is that thing?!?"

"That's... an URSA MAJOR!!!!"

Rarity and Applejack ran though the crystal maze, occasionally stopping to catch their breath.

"Why did this have to happen to me?!" Rarity moaned as they ran down yet another corridor.

"Shut your yap and run!" Applejack shouted back. "The faster we do this, the faster we can go get Dedede and bring those strange creatures back ta their own world!"

"Well, at least this place is pretty..."

Her thoughts were interrupted by a giant hammer coming down in front of them. Applejack stopped Rarity a only few inches from where the hammer landed.

"What in tarnation?!?" Applejack cried. "Is Dedede try'en to kill us? What's with the hammer?"

She was interrupted by a sound behind her. The two turned around. More hammers were appearing out of nowhere and crashing to the ground with tremendous force.

"RUN!!!"

The two ran as fast as they could to avoid getting squashed. They soon came to a dead end.

"What are we going to do?!?" Rarity cried. "WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!?!?"

Suddenly one last hammer came out of the wall and crashed to the floor, only centimeters away from them. A giant crack soon appeared, making it's way in between the two mares.

The floor underneath Applejack and Rarity suddenly crumbled away, dropping them into a large, black hole...

Now, before we see if our heroes make it out of the labyrinth alive, let's see what is happening back in Dreamland...

Escargoon paced quickly up and down the hall.

"What are we going to do?!?" The snail asked himself. "Without the king around somebody has got to take over, but who?"

Suddenly his mouth burst into a sinister smile. With the king gone, there's only one person left for the job... He thought to himself.

Me.

He shouted out to a group of Waddle Dees that were playing cards on the other side of the room.

"Get up, you slackers! Just because Dedede is gone, doesn't mean that you don't have jobs to do! GO!!!"

The Waddle Dees ran off, scared. Escargoon smiled.

"I like this job." He said to himself. "A lot. And I think that I'll be keeping it..."

Meta Knight and Fluttershy walked down calmly through the labyrinth, the star warrior holding tightly onto the Pegasus's wing.
As they came into a big room with a tall roof, Fluttershy noticed something sitting in the corner.

"Is that a... kitten?!"

Sure enough, there was an orange kitten sitting in the corner, licking itself clean.

"What is this kitten doing inside this labyrinth?"

Suddenly a powerful laugh filled the room. A speaker on a pole lowered itself down from the ceiling.

"That's not just a kitten!" Dedede's voice said. "It's also part Scarfy!!! Watch out, it has a very short temper!"

Meta Knight's eyes glowed red through his mask. "Fluttershy, run."

"B-but..."

"RUN!!!"

The yellow mare did as she was told, and flew up to the corner opposite the strange hybrid.

A small canon, only as big as Angel Bunny, came out of the ground. With a small ping! it shot a small pebble at the Scarfy-cat.
The kitten looked at it, then suddenly roared, showing its fangs. It suddenly grew giant, it's claws became huge, it's teeth became like those of a Ursa Major and its two cute beady eyes became one big eye. Even Dedede got a fright from seeing it.

Fluttershy hid her face under her hooves, too scared to watch. Meta Knight attacked it, realizing that it would kill them both if he didn't get rid of it. Flinging his cape off, he flew up to it's face and stabbed its eye with his trusty sword, Galacta.

The Scarfy swiped at Meta Knight with one paw and held his eye with the other. The blue warrior dodged the first attack, but the second swipe caught him off guard and sent him flying towards the ground. The Scarfy then wrapped its tail around Meta Knight and brought him up to his face.

"You'll pay for what you did!" The Scarfy hissed, bringing his paw up and taking Meta Knight's mask off. He then started squeezing, like a boa constrictor squeezing his prey. The star warrior tried to fight back, but he had dropped Galacta and was now defenseless.

The Scarfy soon got bored and flung Meta Knight into the wall. The star warrior dropped to the ground, limp and lifeless, and a light blue colour, the sure sign that he was hurt.

Fluttershy peeked out from behind her hooves, only to see the Scarfy laughing at the fallen warrior before raising his paw to finish him off. She became furious.

"HOW DARE YOU HURT HIM!?!?!" She shouted.

The Scarfy looked up, only to see Fluttershy dive-bomb him in the face. As he rolled backwards, the mare grabbed his front paw and threw him to the other side of the room. He hit the wall, hard, and turned into a pile of dust.

Fluttershy flew quickly to the fallen knight's side. "Oh, are you OK?! Please tell me that you're OK!!!"

Meta Knight opened one eye and looked up at the Pegasus. "I-I'll be fine... Th-thanks to you."

Fluttershy started crying happily as she pulled him into a hug.

Suddenly there was a loud rumbling from behind them. The two looked, just in time to see a door open. On the other side, there was grass and the sky.

Fluttershy lifted the knight onto her back and walked outside. As soon as they were out, the door shut.

The two lay on the grass, Meta Knight laying his head on the Pegasus's back. His midnight blue colour was returning. Fluttershy looked back at the labyrinth.

I hope that they're OK. She thought.

And now, there was nothing left to do, but wait...

Unfortunately for both you and Fluttershy, we won't be finding out about what happens to the others until the next act. But, before we end this story, lets take a small look at something happening on the other side of Equestria, in the middle of the desert near a small town called Appleloosa...

He woke up to total darkness. Who is he, you ask? Well, he didn't really know. He was supposed to be dead. Twice. But that didn't matter right now. What mattered was finding out where he was.

He soon realised that it was dark because he was lying face down in some sand, and so he decided to get up. Now would be a good a time as any for me to describe him to you.

He was a light lavender puffball, sort of a Twilight Sparkle colour, if you can imagine. He had large, violet eyes that were currently half opened as he tried to get used to the change in lighting. Two golden wing-like metal appendages (or arms, I guess) came out of his sides where a normal puffball's arms would normally come out. (And of course by arms I mean stubs.) These wings (let's just call them that for now) had two claws each in the middle, hanging down. They also had big heart shapes at the ends, which he mostly used to control his flight (yes, he could fly). Each wing also had a number of brightly coloured and quickly flashing crystals hanging off of them, that of which were currently dragging in the sand as he propped himself up with his claws. Also, he had a pair of sharp fangs inside his mouth.

His clothing consisted of a red and blue two-pointed jesters cap upon his head, decorated with triangles and circles, a red bow-tie around his neck and two brown and slightly scuffed boots with yellow laces on his feet. A bit of a freak if you ask me. (But don't ever say that to his face, or we're both dead, alright, dear reader? And it won't be pretty.)

The jester, for that is what he was, managed to get up on his feet. As he did so, he looked up. The clouds looked... strange... nothing like he had ever saw in Dreamland. And where was he, exactly?! Raisin Ruins? Rock Star?! Some crazy under-grown part of Green Greens?!? Well he didn't care. As long as he didn't run into that horrid puffball, Kirby. After what happened (and only NOVA knows exactly,) he never wanted to see that menace again.

Then suddenly...

"Hey, you!!!"

That voice wasn't him. Oh no. It had come from behind. It was a female voice, too. Maybe it belonged to Fumu, that annoying girl who thought she was smarter then everybody else. Or maybe it was that demon beast, Lalala, and her brother, Lololo, who used to be one entity, Lola. No. As he soon found out, it wasn't any of these Dreamlandians. Heck, this person wasn't even from Popstar, or Gamble Galaxy at all!

It was a young female buffalo.

"Are you lost?" She asked, tilting her head to one side. "I don't think I've ever seen something like you in Equestria!"

The jester blinked, confused. "I'm sorry, where did you say I was?!"

"Oh! You can talk! Well, to answer your question, you're in Equestria! Where else do you think you would be?!"

He didn't answer. A plan had just popped into his head.

This place is definitely nowhere near Popstar. He thought. Maybe I could take this planet over. There's no Kirby to stop me, no stupid comet messing up my plans and bringing me back as a horrible monster... It just might work!

He suddenly snapped out of his train of thought as the buffalo spoke up and asked another question.

"My name is Little Strong Heart, but you can call me L.S.H. for short. What's your name? Do you even have a name?"

The jester smiled at the buffalo, a red and blue flash dancing across his violet eyes.

"My name..." he said, "Is Marx."

What is Marx doing in Equestria? How did he get there? Didn't the portal close? And, maybe more importantly, with Twilight and the others be able to make it out of Dedede's labyrinth alive? And what does Discord have to do with all of this?! Will the author ever stop her ranting and random notes?! Find out the answer to most of these questions and more next time in Act 3: Attack at Appleloosa!

Act Three: Attack at Appleloosa

View Online

When we last left our heroes, they were trapped inside a labyrinth created by Dedede. Will they be able to get out alive, with all the manticores, Ursa Majors and whatnot? Also, Marx is in Appleloosa, and nobody knows! (Well, other than Little Strong Heart...) Will he succeed in taking over Equestria? Why do I feel that Dedede and Chrysalis are going to be involved in some way, shape or form? Why do I keep mentioning Discord? We shall see, dear reader... We shall see... But first let's see what is going on in Dream Land...

"WHAT?!?"

The scene was comical, to say the least. A Waddle Dee with a bandanna was standing next to a table, and another was standing near the door, only this one had a sailors cap. Cards were scattered all over the floor, and some on the table. Why? Simple. The Waddle Dee with a bandanna was building a house of cards when the Waddle Dee with a sailors cap burst in yelling that the kingdom was falling. In short, the house of cards had fallen down and now Sailor Dee was an inch away from being stabbed in the throat with a very angry Bandanna Dee's spear.

"Aaahhh! Nononononono, don't stab me!" Sailor Dee cried, in a slight Scottish accent. "I swear, it's important this time!!!

"Really? You said that last time as well." Bandanna answered angrily. He was normally a very calm Waddle Dee, but he had really had enough of all the interruptions. The first time, Sailor Dee had burst in claiming that all the Waddle Dees were being turned into paper. False alarm. Then Bandanna Dee had to leave for a special meeting, only to come back to find half the castle blown up and his house of cards destroyed. Now was the third time it had fallen down, and Bandanna Dee was considering using glue, both to keep the house up and glue Sailor Dee to the ground so he couldn't destroy anything.

"This time, it's for real!" Sailor Dee cried. "Goonie has gone mad, and he thinks that he's the king!"

Bandanna stared at his friend for a while, before laughing out loud. He removed his spear from next to Sailor's throat, stepping back to give the Waddle Dee room to stand up.

"Escy going mad?!" He laughed. "Seriously, if it wasn't for the fact that you're being completely ridiculous and making me laugh, I would pin you to the wall like I did to that Bonkers the other day!" He stopped laughing for a bit, happiness sparkling in his hazel coloured eyes as he remembered how scared the purple gorilla-like creature was. "Who even told you this?" He continued. "It's obviously a lie. You would have to be stupid to believe something like that! Yet again, you are a bit gullible..."

Sailor Dee, having gotten up, grabbed Bandanna by the shoulders and pulled him so that their faces were pressing up against each other. "Let me repeat." He said, looking Bandanna in the eyes with his sky blue ones. "ESCARGOON HAS GONE MAD. We need to get out of here. I'll explain everything later, but now we have to go."

Bandanna pulled himself away. "What? No. We're not going anywhere without Ninja Dee, alright Shawn?" He said, using his first name so that he would realise how much he was insisting.

"And, anyway, Dedede can stop Goonie, can't he?"

"That's the thing!" Sailor Dee - or "Shawn" - cried. "Steven is gone, Andrew. So is Dedede. And Kirby. And Meta. THEY. ARE. GONE. Poof! Just like that!" He said, spacing out his words so that his friend would get the full impact.

Bandanna Dee - or "Andrew"- blinked, confused. "J-Just like that? Gone? Poof?! W-Where do you think he went?!" He asked, his stern demeanor breaking down back into his shy one.

"I don't know." Sailor answered. "Simi said that they disappeared into a portal of some sort. But now we need to get out of here before Goonie find us! You see-"

"That's KING ESCARGOON to you!" Cried a voice from behind.

The two Waddle Dees turned and faced the door. Their friend, Escargoon was standing there, wrapped in one of Dedede's fur cloaks, with many Soldier Waddle Dees standing around him. One of the Soldier Dees was holding a rope that was wrapped around a small storybook-wizard-looking thing. A Simirror. But not just any Simirror. It was their friend, Simi.

Bandanna Dee adjusted his bandanna, his angriness returning. "Escy, what are you doing?! You can't be the acting king, not unless Dedede appoints you as one! It's logic!" He shouted.

Escargoon frowned. "Well, with the king supposedly dead, there's nobody else to take the throne. As his adviser, I am the only one good enough for the job! Logic!"

Bandanna grabbed his spear and pointed it at the snail. A look of fright gathered into Simi's golden eyes. "Bandy! Don't fight with him, just ru-MMMPH!!!" The Simirror's mouth was covered by another Waddle Dee, and the one that was holding the rope hit her hard upside the head, knocking her pointed hat over her eyes and bringing her to her knees. This enraged Bandanna Dee.

"HOW DARE YOU HURT SIMI!!!" He yelled. "She didn't do anything, you... you... DEMON BEAST!!!"

Sailor tried to stop him, he really did, but Bandanna was too quick. He rushed at the snail, the tip of his spear and his eyes glinting with a sense of malevolence against the gastropod. In short, English words; he was angry.

The Soldier Dees tried to stop the Waddle Dee with a bandanna, but their attempt was futile. In English words; it didn't work. Bandanna jumped onto the table and over their heads, stepping on a few, before landing right on top of Escargoon, knocking him down. He then attacked the Soldeir Dee that was holding Simi captive, as that Waddle Dee was standing near the door because he didn't rush to try and fight Bandanna when all the others had.

The Soldier Dee, no. 274, Mickey, gulped. This was going to hurt.

Bandanna Dee jumped over the frightened Dee, confusing him, but then he kicked backwards, knocking Mickey to the ground without hurting him. Much.

He then pulled the rope out of Mickey's paws, before picking up Simi with one hand (his spear was in the other), slinging her over his shoulder like a firefighter and rushing back towards Shawn.

The Soldiers tried to stop him again, jumping into the air to stop him from going over. So Andrew went under instead. Logic.

When he was in the clear, he dropped Simi, still holding the rope. Andrew then pushed his spear into it's holder on his back before taking Shawn by the paw and rushing towards an open window, his two friends being dragged closely behind.

"Andy, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Sailor cried. Bandanna Dee just smiled.

"Trust me." He said.

And with those last two words, he, Sailor and Simi jumped out the window.

"What in the name of Celestia?! What the hay is this?!"

Steve and Rainbow Dash were standing in front of a giant metal manticore. Steve was giving Dashie a deadpanned look, almost as if he was saying, "It's a giant robot. What else did you think it would be? A cupcake?!" Which is ironic because in actual fact this is precisely what he was thinking.

Rainbow Dash was getting bored of staring at the metal masterpiece and started to walk back towards the doorway, not giving a damn that the door had closed. (Look how many damns she's giving! That's right! NONE!) She was planning to kick it down anyway.

Steve continued to stare at the lion-like creature for a few seconds, before following pursuit of the rainbow haired pegasus.

"How do you think we're going to escape?" Rainbow asked, completely ignoring the elephant in the room.

Steve shrugged.

Suddenly, the elephant in the room roared.

The pair turned sharply just in time to see the manticore's eyes light up gold.

"HOLY CELESTIA!!!"

The two jumped at just the right moment, managing to dodge a heavy blow from the metal beast's huge paw.

A laugh suddenly echoed from a speaker.

"HA HA HA HA!!!! Do you like it? We thought ya would!"

"What do you mean, we?"

Dedede clicked his tongue. "That's for me ta know and you ta find out, sweetie!"

The penguin cleared his throat. "Now, I'm controlling this baby, and the only way ta get out is ta deactivate it! Let's see how ya do, huh?"

The manticore moved again, going after Dashie. She flew out of the way, weaving around it and picking up Steve, putting him on her back.

"Do something! At least try to make a scratch!" The rainbow haired pony cried desperately.

As the manticore turned and leaped at them, Steve pulled out some shurikens and threw them at the beast's nose.

They didn't seem to affect the manticore, even though they got stuck into the metal armour.

The manticore snapped at them, almost grabbing Dashie's tail.

As soon as the beast landed, it swiped at the group with it's big claws, scratching Rainbow's hind leg.

"OW! Oooh, that's it!"

The pegasus flew up to the top corner of the room, before dive-bombing the beast, with Steve hanging onto her for his dear life, extending his rake to add extra damage to her attack.

Just before she hit it, she reared back up a bit, so that she kicked it instead of headbutting it. Steve adjusted his weapon.

They made contact. Rainbow kicked his head back, and Steven's rake pierced through the metal, ripping of a chuck as the manticore's head was flung back by the force of the kick.

Unfortunately, as the metal beast was flung back, it grabbed onto Dashie's tail, pulling them both to the ground.

The force of landing on its bum caused a chunk of metal to fall off of the manticore's back, reviling a red button. Dashie and Steve, however, were left with only a few scratches as they landed on the crystal floor, although Steve had fallen off of the rainbow haired pegasus' back.

Dashie soon noticed the manticore's new development.

"Steve! See that button? It might do something! Come on!"

Steve was hesitant. Dashie didn't notice. She flew up to the beast while it was still down and pressed the button.

The manticore, who was halfway between getting up and swiping the pony away, suddenly collapsed, its gold eyes fading into black.

"Oh yeah! We did it!" Rainbow cried, landing in front of Steve. The Waddle Dee wasn't so sure.

It wasn't long before they heard a rumble behind them.

Dashie turned, expecting to see a door open to the outside world. It did. Expecting some kind of dramatic second phase of the boss? Well, you're not getting one.

...

Just kidding.

Just as Rainbow Dash arrived at the door, it shut closed in her face.

"Hey! What's the big idea?!"

Dedede's voice echoed from above.

"Ha ha ha! Meet stage two of Metal-Manticore 1.0, that is, Metal-Manticore 1.33 and 1.66! The Manticore-Twins!"

Just as he had finished speaking, the impossible happened. The manticore split in two, and extra arms and legs came out of where it had split, making two manticores of equal size. Their eyes lit up; one had blue, the other one red.

The battle had only just begun.

Twilight and Magenta stared up at the Ursa Major. Twilight gulped, sweat running down her face.

"W-why isn't it attacking?!" she cried. "It should be attacking!"

"It's not attacking because I am controlling it!"

That voice wasn't Magenta's. No, no... that would make her overpowered, which would make her a Mary-Sue. No, this voice came from next to the Ursa.

"She only listens to me, and my master!"

A pony came out of the shadows. She looked like... no wait, that couldn't be right...

...The pony who came out of the shadows was an exact replica of Twilight Sparkle!!!

The real Twilight gasped. Magenta took a frightened step back. This couldn't be possible, could it?

The only difference between the two Twilights was that one was wearing a whistle on a string around her neck, and had green eyes.

Fake Twilight laughed.

"Don't you worry. We won't hurt you. Not yet, anyway!"

He voice was smooth, and almost identical to... if only a bit higher than... no... it couldn't be... Chrysalis?

"My name is Minerva. And I was hired by Dedede as a test for you."

Magenta clenched her paws into fists.

"That fat lard ball can go eat his stupid tests, we're busting out of here!"

While Magenta was being sassy, Twilight's head was filled with thoughts.

What does she mean by "master"? And why is her voice so familiar? And how could Dedede know to hire somepony who looks exactly like me? ...Chrysalis couldn't be involved in this, could she? ...No, she's dead... Right?

"... and you'll have to face our wrath!"

Twilight snapped out of her daydream.

"I'm sorry, could you say that again? I didn't hear you."

Minerva laughed mirthlessly.

"You guys are just as thick than master told me. And she said that you're the smart one!"

She cleared her throat and started walking circles around the two.

"Our little game goes like this: I give you three riddles and you have to answer them correctly. Get any wrong, and I'll set Dusk here on you."

She nodded her head towards the Ursa Major, who roared happily.

"Get, them all right, however, and then I will give you the hardest question ever. Get that right and we'll let you free. But we know that's never going to happen."

Twilight gritted her teeth. This was going to be hard, she could tell.

"First riddle! What do you lose if you share it?"

Twilight blinked. This one was particularly easy! She didn't know the answer, but it was still easy!

She sat on her hindquarters and thought a for bit. OK, less than a bit. Magenta answered before she got a chance to do anything.

"A secret. The answer is a secret."

Twilight and Minerva both stared at the Ponyan.

"How did you figure that out so fast?" Asked the emerald eyed unicorn.

Magenta smiled and sat down.

"I've had my fair share of secrets stolen and given to me. I think I should know how easy they are to lose."

Minerva growled, and then started to pace up and down, thinking of another riddle.

Twilight glared at Magenta.

"What?" The puffball asked.

"Just... just be more careful. You could've been wrong, and then we would've ended up as Ursa dinner!"

Magenta smiled.

"I could've been wrong, but I wasn't!"

"WHAT IN TARNATION!?"

Applejack shot up from where she was lying down. It was pitch black all around her, the only light coming from the hole in the ceiling which shone down on her like a spotlight.

Rarity was nowhere to be seen.

"Rarity? RARITY! Where are you? Can ya hear me?!"

"Of course, Applejack. I'm standing right here."

Applejack turned to see Rarity standing behind her.

"I found a way out." The unicorn said simply.

"Yeehaw! Let's go and get dat dere Dedede back where he belongs!"

Applejack followed Rarity down the tunnel and into darkness.

Somewhere nearby, the real Rarity was tied and gagged, surrounded by Changelings, trying to scream and warn her friend.

But it was too late.

"Now, where's the end?" Asked Applejack.

Rarity started laughing. Only, it wasn't a happy laugh. It was an evil one.

"Your end is HERE!!!" She cackled.

In a burst of green flames, Rarity changed. She changed into a tall, green haired, black alicorn with bug wings, cat-like eyes, holes in her legs and horn, and very sharp teeth.

"Chrysalis?! What? But you were dead! You..."

She never got to finish that sentence, because she was suddenly knocked out with a magic beam to the back of her head...

Ooh, that's not good. How is everybody going to get out of their problems now? Also, where are Pinkie and Kirby? Well, we'll soon find out. But first, to Appleloosa!

"What in tarnation is that thing?!"

Sheriff Silver-Star was hanging onto Braeburn's neck, both of them cowering in fear from the sight of this strange creature.

L.S.H. smiled sheepishly. The creature, who happened to be Marx, stood there, arms crossed, giving the two a deadpanned look, tapping his foot impatiently.

"And you call yourself a sheriff..."

Strong Heart spoke up.

"There's no need to be afraid! This is Marx, a visitor from another dimension!"

Silver-Star didn't seem to like this idea...

"Another dimension?! Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no... Don't ya remember the last time we had a visitor from another dimension?"

Strong Heart cocked her head to one side. "What do you mean, last time?"

Braeburn was there to bust the sheriff's theories.

"We've never had any visitors from any other dimensions!"

"We haven't?" Asked the sheriff. "Well then, sure as daylight this lil' fella can live in our town!"

Both Marx's and Little Strong Heart's eyes lit up with happiness and surprise.

"Really?" the buffalo asked.

"Sure!" Silver-Star smiled. "As sure as I'm dead! OF COURSE HE CAN'T STAY!!!"

"Why not?!"

Silver-Star didn't answer. He turned away.

Marx sighed.

"Alright. I know where I'm not wanted. The Popstarians didn't like me around either... But I guess it's OK... I'll just go find another town... and some other pony who won't shoot me because they think I'm an alien... It'll be hard but I'm sure I can manage... I think."

He started walking off, his head hanging low in sadness. Mock sadness of course, but they didn't know. Yet, there was maybe a bit of truth in his words... Maybe.

"Sheriff, you can't just let him off like that!" Braeburn protested. "He won't survive out there in the desert on his own!"

"Please let him stay!" Pleaded Strong Heart. "Our Chief didn't let him stay in our settlement, and he really had nowhere else to go!"

Silver-Star's heart softened a little.

"Well, OK. But you guys are giving him the tour, and if he ends up being evil... well... don't say I didn't warn ya!"

He was soon glomped by an overenthusiastic buffalo.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!"

"Alright there, lil' missy. Don't get too excited now, you may regret it."

"Pft, nothing's go'n ta go wrong, sheriff!" Braeburn assured him.

"You hear that Marx? You can stay!"

Not for long... the Noddy thought to himself. Not if I can help it...

"DUCK!"

Steve just barely managed to dodge a deadly blow from Metal-Manticore 1.33.

Dashie was wrestling with a rather agitated Metal-Manticore 1.66. Literally. She had gotten on top of the machine and was now trying desperately to rip off most of the metal while avoiding being thrown to the ground.

"It's no use! We're never going to beat these things!" She cried. "It's like trying to break a crystal with a toothpick!"

Steven suddenly had an idea. A risky one, but an idea nevertheless.

We might not be able to break a crystal with a toothpick, he thought to himself, but we might be able to break the wall of this labyrinth with a giant metal beast!

He changed direction suddenly, and M-M 1.33 followed him.

The Waddle Dee soon found himself cornered. Perfect.

The manticore pounced. This was his chance. He quickly turned and slid under the manticore.

Now, normally this wouldn't have happened, but it did, and it was mostly due to good luck. Because Steve had gotten out of the way, M-M 1.33 had nothing to stop it from sliding. He crashed, head-first, right into the wall, making a big crack run up it, and in turn making it crumble and fall onto the manticore. Now, here's where the luck came in. If M-M 1.33 had turned so he crashed into the wall with his side, the crack wouldn't appear. So Steve was really lucky. And M-M was really unlucky.

Now, that might be interesting, but it's not as interesting as what was behind the wall. And it wasn't daylight...

Somewhere outside, two cute little creatures awoke from their nap due to a loud BOOM coming from inside the crystal labyrinth.

"What do you think that was?" Fluttershy asked.

"I don't know," Meta answered, a little bit self conscious due to the fact that he didn't have his mask... and that he sound like a child. "But it's probably not good."

"But what can we do?"

Meta sighed. "We can't do anything. It makes me feel so weak that I am unable to help."

Fluttershy hugged him reassuringly. "Don't worry. I'm sure they'll be fine."

"What?!"

Chrysalis stared at the hole in the wall with wide eyes.

How in the wide realm of Equestria...?

Rainbow Dash and Steve stuck their heads through the hole.

"WHAT?! CHRYSALIS?!"

The two peered into the dark room. It was filled with Changelings and... hold on... in the middle of the room there was two chairs, and tied to those chairs were Applejack and Rarity!

Chrysalis's eyes widened.

"Um...uh... RETREAT!!!"

The Changelings did as they were told, and rushed past Steve and Dashie through the hole... only to find a Metal-Manticore waiting for them.

While the Changelings were figuring out an escape plan, Dashie and Steve ran to untie their friends.

...

And almost died broke some bones by tripping over something metallic.

"What the-! Is that Meta Knight's mask?"

... Just then they noticed that the door to the outside world was opened. Turns out Chrysalis had to use it to escape, but forgot to close it.

And that is how Rarity, Applejack, Steve and Dashie escaped, only to be glomped by an overly excited and relieved Fluttershy.

Now, before we see what's happening with Twilly, Magenta, Pinkie and Kirbs, I say we should go and check on a certain draconequus...

Discord was dis-bored. There was nothing to do, and everything was too quiet for his liking.

Before he gave up on finding fun and adventure, however, he decided to go visit a certain friend. Not Fluttershy, Twilight.

"Hello?! Anypony home?!" He called as he opened the door to the Golden Oak Library. No response. He walked in anyway.

"Well, this is boring." He muttered, looking around the rather messy room. It wasn't long before he discovered an open door, with stairs going down.

"Ooh, that's new!" He smiled, trotting down, hopping over one or two fallen books.

When he came to the bottom of the steps, however, he was stopped in his tracks.

"What is that?"

He slowly waltzed up to the test tube on the desk. It was filled with a blue and yellow striped liquid. He picked it up with his tail and took a good look at it.

"Why, this is... odd."

Suddenly, without warning, a white bullet flew out of the tube. It bounced around the lab before flying out the door. Discord teleported after it, only to find that it had gotten out by the window. Teleporting once more, he followed it outside, just in time to see it hit a cloud and open up into a big, spiraling portal.

... And that's the end. Forever. Thanks for reading. Bye.
