In Ponyville, like the Summer Sun Celebration, all of Ponyville was getting ready for an event that they would have to stay up all night for. All of Ponyville was getting ready for one of the most rarest events in history.
The Blue Harvest Moon.
An event when the moon that a blue glow of light all around Equestria that ironically makes the moon glow blue, but also has an effect on the wildlife and on occasions, ponies too.
"Almost time Spike." Twilight said grabbing her telescope.
Spike grabbed a book of astronomy, by Twilight's request. "I sure hope that it will be the best ever? I've never seen a Blue Harvest Moon."
"Neither have I Spike." She used her magic to levitate Spike and place him on her back. "The Blue Harvest Moon rarely ever happens. Princess Celestia told me that Princess Luna was really excited to finally preform it once again." She and Spike then headed out to join the rest of Ponyville.
All the ponies of Ponyville gathered at City Hall to await the arrival of the Blue Harvest Moon. The Apple Family brought apple snacks for the pony folk. Rainbow Dash and the other pegasi cleared the sky of clouds so that way they can all see only the clear sky. And, knowing about the moon's effect on the animals, Fluttershy, having a hard time of doing it, separated all the animals in groups.
"I do hope that everypony is ready." Mayor Mare said. " In a few minutes, the rare Blue Harvest Moon will appear."
In the crowd of ponies Twilight, Spike, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders were waiting for the event to happen. "This is will be the first time I've ever seen a moon like tonight's." Sweetie Belle said.
"It's a first for all of us darling." Rarity said. "If what is said about it true then all of Equestria should be bathed in a beautiful blue light."
"Not as beautiful as you in the night." Spike said to Rarity.
"It better." Rainbow Dash said. "I had every pegasi clear the sky because of clouds so we can see the light."
"Don't worry Rainbow Dash it will happen." Twilight said. "I'm just glad to know that Princess Luna is also excited to preform it after 1,000 years."
"I bet Celestia is glad to stop preforming it after 1,000 years." Spike said sarcastically.
They looked over at Fluttershy and saw that she looked worried. "What's wrong Fluttershy?" Apple Bloom asked.
"I know about the moon and heard about its effects on animals." Fluttershy said. "I'm just worried about what will happen to the animals I take care of when it happens."
"Exactly what happens to animals during a Blue Harvest Moon?" Applejack asked.
Twilight grabbed a book about astronomy and placed it in front of them. "It says that the effects of the Blue Harvest Moon on animals makes them act differently."
"Meaning?" Applejack asked again.
"Meaning that they act as there opposite." Twilight said. "Those that act nice, act cruel and those that act cruel, act nice."
"Which means Angel will finally act nice?" Spike said half sarcastically and half serious.
Rainbow then decided to join in. "And Opalescence will stop clawing everything." Rainbow Dash laughed.
Hearing that made Rarity only half angry. "I would strongly disagree with you Rainbow Dash, but I do agree with you on her clawing problems."
"You really think that Rarity?" Sweetie Belle asked.
Rarity then grabbed her bag that she was carrying and pulled out a hat that she made. Her hat was full of claw marks and some parts of it ripped off. "You tell me?"
"I just hope that things won't be really bad when the moon appears." Fluttershy said very softly.
"Is it because you mostly take care of cute, cuddly, and nice animals?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Exactly." Fluttershy said still in a soft voice.
Rarity put her right hoof on Fluttershy's shoulder. "Don't worry darling. If something does happen then we will help you threw it."
Fluttershy then smiled. "Thanks."
Twilight looked in her telescope and saw that Princess Luna was about to summon the Blue Harvest Moon. "Girls! It's about to start."
Every pony looked up at the sky awaiting the Blue Harvest Moon to appear. Fluttershy remained calm about the animals at her cottage, but still felt weird about not going to help them. Before she had a second thought about that The moon then literally turned blue and surrounded Equestria in a nice and beautiful blue light.
Every Pony stared in awe over what they saw. Rarity felt all jitty, feeling the moons blue rays flow through her skin. Spike stared at Rarity in the blue light which to Spike made her look more beautiful in the light. Twilight felt that she didn't need her telescope anymore and decided to just look at the moon without it.
"It's so gorgeous." Twilight said not looking away from the moon.
"Yes! Yes she is." Spike said not looking away from Rarity.
Applejack looked over at Fluttershy and remembered that she was afraid of the animals. "You know sugercube, you can go to your cottage now if you want to."
Fluttershy had her eyes closed for a while but then opened them revealing that instead of having blueish-green eyes, she had whitish-red eyes instead. She then looked around her and saw every pony too focused on the moon.
"The Blue Harvest Moon!" She said in a much darker voice. "Perfect!"
"Fluttershy?" She heard Applejack talk to her and then all her friends looked at her. "What was that you said?"
Fluttershy looked at the ponies around her. She remembered that they saw her as something kind. "Oh nothing." She said in her usual voice. "What was the question again?"
"I asked if you would rather go back and take care of your animals again." Applejack repeated.
"And miss this, sorry but I think I would rather stay. After all this light makes me feel like it's been a while since I've seen Equestria with my own eyes." Fluttershy said. "But I think it would much better if I could be somewhere else so I can get a better view of the moon." With that Fluttershy then left the group and landed on one of the buildings. "So that way I'll be away from all of these pathetic ponies." She said to herself in a dark voice again.
They all looked at Fluttershy as she flew away from the group. "Well that was a little weird." Spike said. "Also has Fluttershy's eyes always looked like that."
Back at Fluttershy's cottage the most weirdest thing has happened. All the animals that would seem innocent and nice are all acting naughty towards one another and those who weren't so nice are completely nice that they were afraid of the others. For example, a bear is hiding from a squirrel that was acting mean to him. Angel was trying to help the others but most of them were not listening to him while others were hiding from the others.
The thing that every animal didn't think would happen was that Fluttershy would come back even though she told them that she would be gone for a while. Apparently she got bored of the moon and went back home. However when she got home all the animals were looking at her to see if she was going to give them treats or something. A chipmunk, who is acting naughty due to the Blue Harvest Moon, demanded something to eat and expected her to obey.
It didn't expect her to whack him to the fence causing it pain.
"If you're so hungry then why don't you eat bark from a tree and don't bother me." Fluttershy said in a dark voice. She then looked over at the other animals and saw that they were all looking at her differently than they used to. "In fact, I'm feeling hungry myself. So why don't you all quit your staring and get me something to eat."
Even though he started acting different himself, Angel knew then and there that something must have been wrong. This wasn't the Fluttershy that he knew and he thought that the moon only affected the animals and not ponies. He didn't know why her eyes looked different, why her voice was different, and more importantly why she was acting so cruel.
Fluttershy then looked down at Angel and used her stare on him. "Did I not make myself clear? You better do what I say and get me something to eat." Angel then ran to do what she ordered him to do, but was actually running to go get help. Fluttrshy didn't know what he was doing but all she need to know was that she wasn't going to let anything disobey her. She then turned around and started laughing evilly.
Deep within Fluttershy's soul the original Fluttershy, the kind one, was looking around and saw nothing but dark, misty space all around her. She didn't know what happened or why she was here. The last thing she remembered was watching the Blue Harvest Moon, but that was the last thing she remembered.
"Um...hello!" She started calling out but got no response. "Is any pony around?" She started looking everywhere but she couldn't see any pony or anything. She couldn't even see the ground that she is standing on, but then she started to wonder if she is even standing on ground. "Discord is this one of your tricks? If it is then, if it's alright with you, can you please stop?"
"Why do you want it to stop?" Fluttershy looked around but didn't see any pony. "This should be enough punishment for contaminating Discord with your, ugh, kindness." Somehow the voice she heard sounded familiar. She didn't know any other pony with a voice like that, but she did recognized it. "After all, who really cares about being kind to others anyway." Then something came from the mist and it horrified her. "I know I don't." She couldn't believe it. She thought she was rid of this cruel pony but here she was.
The pony she saw from the mist was herself.
"No, no it can't be." Fluttershy said to herself as she was backing away from the cruel Fluttershy. "You were gone, I got rid of you."
"I guess you were just too kind to get rid of me." The cruel Fluttershy said in a sarcastically dark tone. "You've been around for years and still you don't understand. Nothing in Equestria will get you anywhere when you're nice to ponies."
"You're wrong." The kind Fluttershy said to her cruel self. "You can't just be cruel to every pony. They didn't do anything wrong."
"Yeah and let's keep it that way." The cruel Fluttershy started trotting toward the kind Fluttershy in a threatening and scary way. "As long as they don't do anything they are nothing but pathetic worms for me stomp on, and that goes triple for those pathetic princesses, all four of them." The kind Fluttershy thought it was bad enough that she said that Celestia Luna, and Cadence were pathetic, but saying Twilight was pathetic was once step too far. "I mean really, if Celestia truly loved Equestria then she should be the one that protects it, instead she has attack dogs like you."
"She does care about Equestria, every princess does." The kind Fluttershy said quiet but strong. "And they are not pathetic. How dare you say something like that especially when you're also talking about my friends."
The cruel Fluttershy only smirked at what she said. "How dare I, how about 'how dare you'." The kind Fluttershy didn't understand. "Although I don't expect a weakling to understand. You think that I'm so bad and stupid and cruel, but there is one thing you don't understand."
Basically everything she said was something that she didn't understand since she didn't really get her cruel self at all. But the next thing she said makes her heart stop and everything in her mind go blank.
"I AM YOU?!"
It was the one thing that The kind Fluttershy knew was true about the cruel Fluttershy. All throughout her fillyhood she knew about another personality that she had but didn't like. No matter what personality it was that controls her body the fact is that all personalities are still a part of the same pony.
"I'm just the better one since I know to take care of myself and care not for others." The kind Fluttershy didn't want to hear anymore of what the cruel Fluttershy had to say. She couldn't take anymore of this. Whatever her cruel self was doing she wanted it to stop. "What is it that you want?"
"I think even you should know what that thing is. But just in case you really don't then fine I'll tell you." The cruel Fluttershy trotted up to the kind Fluttershy and got right into her face. "Control over this body." Hearing that made her start to fear the worst back when she was filly. "So in that case." Just then the cruel Fluttershy punched the kind Fluttershy in the face knocking her back. She felt her face and felt a bruise on it as she saw her cruel self walk away. "Face it worm, your part in Equestria is over now." With all that said she walked away leaving the kind Fluttershy there crying.
The celebration was still going on since the Blue Harvest Moon is still out. All of Fluttershy's friends are still there all not knowing of Fluttershy not being there since she said that she wanted to be alone. However, their attention was caught when they saw Angel coming their way.
"Is that Angel?" Pinkie Pie said being the first to talk before any of them could get a chance.
"What's Angel doing all the way out here?" Twilight said. "Shuldn't he be back at Fluttershy's house?" Angel then made his way to them. They didn't know what he was saying since they can't understand them but they didn't need any words to know that he's trying to say that something is wrong. "I think he wants us to follow him."
"Well then let's go." Pinkie said already up and leaving. They didn't know how she could move so fast but decided to leave that alone and follow Angel.
By the time they finally made it to Fluttershy's house they saw something that they have never seen since the time Discord was first free and trying to spread chaos in Ponyville. They all saw Fluttershy treating every animal like trash. Pushing them to do what she told them, hurting them if they don't do it or fail to do it, everything they see it wasn't they way they used to see Fluttershy.
Twilight really couldn't believe what she was seeing. This was nothing like the Fluttershy that she knew. "What is she doing? Why is she acting like this?"
Rainbow Dash just stood there. Not only did she see something that she couldn't believe, but she was also looking at something that she believed was very familiar. The way she acted towards the animals, she couldn't help but notice that she saw this before. Just as Fluttershy was giving another order to one of the animals they all heard her whistling a tune that was very unique. It was right then and there that Rainbow Dash's suspicions were confirmed.
"I don't get it." Twilight said to herself. "She was acting fine earlier." It was then that she saw Rainbow Dash looking so scared. "Rainbow Dash?" Rainbow Dash's irises were slowly growing as all her memories from when she was filly all came to her like a train crashing into a building.
"This can't be happening." Rainbow Dash said forgetting that all her friends were there with her. "Not again."
