> lionhearts story > by liondragon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > intro > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the city of Ponyville lives a griffin with black feathers and tip of his tail is black as well but, the rest of his coat is white. He is called Lion Heart. He loves nature and has a friend who has always been very secretive towards him called Kaiko. This griffin will tell the story. But firstly, you need to know some facts. The story will start at a Hearts warming eve, when he invited Kaiko into his place after he went home. During this event she was drunk and Lionheart thought she wouldn’t remember. Well, going home isn’t the right word, he went back to his family. After what he knew he would never see it as a home. Since he didn’t agree with the leader of his tribe. This tribe had fought a great deal of monsters on its own, before and after they had been “conquered” by Equestria. If the Equestrian forces would help and not only boss them around, the griffin tribes could have tolerated and even accepted that they were “conquered.” Yet they didn’t. This is something that would spark a rebellion, with the most well trained tribe at the top. The tribe to which Lion Heart belonged. In his youth he was the master over the beasts, master over the monsters, he was basically the most strategic minded there was and he never hurt them. Not even a hair. He was just like the other men, not given a choice, he would have to join the griffin army whether he liked it or not. This changed his perspective on the world in many different ways. He thought less of his tribe, he longed more to his friends in the surrounding tribes. Nevertheless, he was doing his basic training. The other tribes joined the pact for several reasons, first of all, because of the possible domination of his tribe, secondly, because of their legendary skills in holding of monsters and lastly, because they were just as sick of the oppression as his tribe. He wasn’t treated any different because of this. > chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Kaiko, just listen to me OK.” She reacts with something in Nipponigo/Japoniese that I can’t make out. I will just start telling the story. I roll my eyes. “Well, the rebellion of the griffins won’t be peaceful I know for certain. First thing they told me at training was: be merciless. While when I started training griffins I said: ‘don’t be too hard on yourself but I challenge you to show mercy since it’s harder to do and can have greater rewards’. but, I will continue on that later.” I am interrupted by Kaiko “Nande?” I replied with: “Because it isn’t relevant for the story yet." She says “nyan.” Which in this case means fine and I continue: “At that moment all my friends were scattered over all the tribes and the funny thing was that they all had, … have a high up position. And they all think the same as I do about how the elders want to attempt the rebellion. I was at the moment of choosing my specialty. Since I hated and still hate the practice of tearing, I chose: scout, minimum confrontation and fighting training. This gave me a serious eye for detail, some extra speed and learning skills and it even learned me something about keeping diaries. You find it annoying don’t you.” Kaiko cocked her head up and nodded in agreement to what I said. I know how annoying she finds it when I don’t give her a chance to fool with me. “Although I was best at close combat, survey, fleeing and almost all of the skills except for slashing. They found and still do find slashing to be my biggest problem. They said I did it too little, that I feared it. I didn't, I just hated doing it.” I demonstrated what slashing was on one of the pillows. I continued: “Not a pleasant sight to see? They recognized that it was the reason I didn't specialize myself in command or just as a regular soldier. Because as a scout you are always upfront, always first on the scene. I was the best at all the rest even set a record for gaining intelligence with a little help from friends. And with help, I mean they came to me at a central place and gave me the intelligence I needed. I rushed there, asked them what I needed to know and then rushed back in 30 minutes, while most of them take over three hours to get the same done.” She reacted with “Dou?” “They had high up places in their tribes, so they knew a lot about their tribes.” I explained and then looked at her, she nodded. “Because I was the pride of the tribe, I was the first to be send out to Equestria, to scout here.” Kaiko cocked her head. “I was send here at first. But, I asked to be stationed here after my first few weeks and they couldn’t say no because I was the best and famous scout.” She reacted with her “nyan.” I continued once again: “I loved the whole experience I got while I was here. I gave reports to my general. I told friends of mine how Equestria was and that I’d rather live there. The reason being that I asked to be stationed there. They had regret, but knew that it was my own choice. Some came to visit me, we laughed, played. I helped them practice and they helped me.” I start smiling a bit. “One of them is one of the best generals and I learned how to beat him. That actually seems helpful, now I think of it.” Kaiko interrupts yet again me “Nande?” I reply by saying: “being dominant in griffin culture is being stronger than the rest.” She nods like she knows how it is like. “I might want to start the story of what I did the first months in Equestria in more detail?...” > chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Well my first months here were my first mission, my first journey far away, my first city, since I lived at Canterlot at the time. It basically was my first attempt at so very much. My first job not having to do with fighting or animals.” Kaiko reacts as if this was a miracle me not doing something with animals while yelling “Nani” I smile and say: “on my first months in Canterlot I worked as a trainee blacksmith and I practiced all other skills as well. I didn’t need the money, I thought it would make a good cover. This all to make sure I wouldn’t get caught and that I got valuable intel.” She nodded. “I really enjoyed my first three months here I came here ended and had all of my earnings from helping the blacksmith out I was to report to the head general and I asked to become permanently stationed here. They agreed but I had to report every three months the first few years and after a while they said that I could report every half a year and this ended to be around Hearth’s Warming eve and in the middle of the summer. After I returned for the first time reporting was the day that you could sign up for university and I actually got enrolled with both of my studies biology and medicine.” She once again interrupts me questioning the fact that I could have studied simply by saying: “Nani.” “I did for two years, but I only finished biology because medicine didn’t meet my expectations. O I learned more than I could dream of and I still put it to the test every day. I even received a job keeping track of fauna and flora of the Everfree. A job I gladly do, although I only just started it since I just finished my studies. The first few months were great but that Germanimus…” I start grunting. “That general sent clearly not thinking, one of his inexperienced guys. That guy asked every griffin where I was and then asked about: what they knew and if I was supporting the revolution. I had to fix that mess he made and as a result he almost blew my cover…grr if you ask me he was trying to blow it and he does that every now and then if he does this one more time I will not know what I will do to him and that kid. Huhh he actually hates me. He knows what I am planning well he assumes that he knows. He really thinks that I am a traitor and he is right about that….. but he always has been suspicious of me. I think he is just jealous and because of that he doesn’t trust me.” Kaiko seemed to have a clear moment because she said: “Like someone could be jealous of you. You…” She started laughing. And with this last sentence she fell asleep. I carried her upstairs wished her a good night. She half woke up to pull my cheeks after that I went to sleep.
