> Doctor, Derpy, and Family: Episode 2: The Alicorns Have the Phone Box! > by sharkray24 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > There She Isn't > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Run!" shouted the Doctor. He trotted through the streets of Canterlot after the Royal Wedding was over. "Why?" asked Derpy. The Changelings are all gone. "Yeah." commented Amethyst Star, carrying her little sister Dinky on her back. "I know, but something's not right." The Doctor ran as fast as his hooves could carry him. Something was wrong with her, he knew it. He wasn't picking up Her signal, and She wasn't answering his telepathic messages. This couldn't be happening. "Hey!" Dinky squealed. "Race you to the TARDIS!" Dinky then jumped off her sister's back and darted off to where the Doctor had parked the Tardis. She ran only to slam into a brick wall where the TARDIS was supposed to be. "What the?" "No..." The Doctor muttered. "What is it Doctor?" asked Derpy with concern. "What's going on?" Asked Amethyst catching up with the rest of the group. "The TARDIS, she's missing." the Doctor said. "Wait did you just say 'she'?" asked Amethyst. "The TARDIS is a vessel so yes, 'she'." Replied the Doctor. "Well where could she have gone?" asked Dinky. "Well I have an idea. I just need my Timey-Wimey Detector...which is on the TARDIS." "Wait a 'Timey-Wimey Detector'? What the hay is that?" Asked Amethyst. "Yeah! It tells me whenever there's something Timey-Wimey going on." Replied the Doctor beaming. "It goes 'ding' when there's stuff!" "Well what now Doctor?" asked Derpy. "I have an idea, but it is very dangerous, and risky. It could potentially destroy the universe but that's a risk I will have to take." answered the Doctor. "Allons-y!" And with that the Doctor was off on another adventure with Derpy, Dinky, and Amethyst Star. > Seeking Self-Help > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Doctor was running frantically towards the last place he saw him. He was his only chance to get back to his TARDIS. The Doctor was looking for a blue pony, he didn't quite remember what race, though that wouldn't matter. In his rush he hadn't realized some of his company was missing. In all the hullabaloo of the TARDIS gone missing and ponies going home in crowds from the wedding, The Doctor and Derpy had lost Amethyst and Dinky. The Doctor had gotten three fourths of where he was going before Derpy landed on him from above with a large thud. "Doctor! Doctor! I can't find them! I lost them! What am I going to do?" Derpy shouted frantically. "Who? What?" "My daughters! Doctor we have to find them!" Derpy shouted. "We will. Don't worry. Once we get the TARDIS back we'll all be together again." Reassured the Doctor. The Doctor got up calmly and brushed himself off. "Well, we're here." And there before them stood the TARDIS, though something seemed a little different, to Derpy at least. The Doctor pushed on the door only to find it locked, "Bloody, insecure devil. Leaving the TARDIS locked. Nopony is going to look inside." the Doctor muttered getting out his TARDIS key. He unlocked the TARDIS door and entered surprisingly cautiously and flipped on the light switch. The TARDIS was VERY DIFFERENT! It was very white with circles on the walls, and the engine was not even a quarter of its normal size. Over half of the gadgets were missing and there was only one door and one monitor in sight. "Um Doctor, this isn't YOUR TARDIS, is it?" "Well yes and no." said the Doctor strolling around quietly, with a glimmer of nostalgia in his eyes. "Ah the benches, the little wooden benches." he said with a giddy giggle. "Priceless!" "Ey you!" boomed a voice from behind them. "What do you think you're doing?" "Oh you...you're such a doll." Replied the Doctor. "You watch your mouth!" the figure stepped into the light revealing a blue earth pony with a white collar, red bow tie, dark yellow mane and tail, a red bow tie, white hat with red brim, and a stalk of asparagus pinned onto his lapel. "I've tried that, not really much fun, but oi! What are you doing!" The blue earth pony had tackled the Doctor and was wrestling him on the floor. "No physical contact! NO PHYSICAL CONTACT!" "Says who?" "First Law of Time, Gallopfreyan codes!" The blue pony stood "Oh no...you're..." "Yes let it out." "You're a fan!" "Yea- wait no I'm not a fan I'm you!" Boomed the Doctor making Derpy giggle. "Preposterous!" "Hello, Doctor pay attention to this mane style, cause one day you'll be brushing it!" The blue pony stood there staring blankly at the Doctor. "Oh no." "Oh yes." "So you're..." "yes." "And I just caused a paradox?" "Yup." Just then loud sirens started booming and lights flashed red. "That would be my cue." The Doctor stepped up to the controls and took over and after a long series of complicated actions the buzzing stopped. "How did you? I can't even...Nobody can." "There you are right." "So you only knew how to do it, because you remember being me watching you do it?" "Precisely! Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey-Wimey!" "What?" "It's nothing really, but um I need help finding my TARDIS." "No problem." "So he's you? Okay." Derpy butted in. "Yes. Number Five." "And you would be?" asked the Fifth. "Eleven." "Okay then, getting a little old are we?" "Pft don't remind me." Replied the Doctor. "And is she..." Said the Fifth motioning to Derpy with his head, "River?" he muttered under his breath. "No no nooooooo!" replied the Doctor blushing. "Okay then, radar says there's another TARDIS right there." said the Fifth. "Thank you Doctor. Let's go Derpy! Allon-y!" And then the Doctor and Derpy were off. > Two Sisters and a Night on the Big City > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dinky! Dinky!" Called Amethyst through the large crowd, "Where are you Dinky?" Amethyst was getting really worried now, she started breathing heavily and her head started spinning. Her knees felt weak. She thought she might pass out as she spun around and around when suddenly. "Weeeeeeeeeee! This is fun sis!" Squeaked a voice from behind her. Amethyst turned around quickly, but to no prevail. Her sister was no where to be seen "Weeeeeeee!" squeaked the voice again from behind her. Amethys kept turning only to result in making herself dizzy. She stopped to catch her breath. "Aww why'd you stop?" commented the squeaky voice. Amethyst turned her head and almost jumped when her sister's face was less than an inch away from her own. "Dinky!" "Yes?" Dinky replied. "Where have you been." Amethyst asked scolding. "Here." said Dinky with a huge smile. "On my back?" Amethyst said. "Yes!" Dinky replied with her chest puffed out. Amethyst drooped her head in embarrassment, irritation, and relief. "Okay, hop off. We need to find Mom and Da-" she cut herself off, "the Doctor..." "Okay." Said Dinky obliviously as she hopped off of her sisters back. The two set off looking for the Doctor and Derpy. It was already dark, and they could hear the music and partying going on at the castle from the wedding. They looked up and saw Luna flying overhead toward the castle. "Princess!" called Amethyst, but Luna kept flying the only hint that she had heard them was that her left ear twitched. Amethyst and Dinky continued walking through the dark, dank alley. There was putrid garbage piled up on the sides, the stink made the inside of your nose feel like it was on fire, that was ignited by lava from a sulfurous volcano. The hollow chimes of store bells blown by the ice cold night wind sounded more like the clatter of bones. The air was so cold that it cut straight through you, and the wind felt as if it would pull the skin off of your bones. "Look at that pretty statue." said Dinky running up to an old, mossy statue. The statue was that of an Alicorn, and had razor sharp teeth. It was wearing a robe which almost looked like armor, and silver shoes. The eyes were big, and the mane was short. "It's so pretty." said Dinky reaching a hoof out to touch it. "Dinky! Stop that. That statue isn't yours, so leave it be." scolded Amethyst. "Ugh fine!" wined Dinky trotting away from the statue. "Let's go this way." said Amethyst pointing with her hoof toward another alleyway opposite the statue. She didn't know why, but she didn't trust this statue. She looked back at the statue through its reflection in a store window, it seemed to have changed, just slightly, but it still changed. Amethyst didn't know how or why she thought the statue had changed, maybe it was...no, everything was the same, the pose, the location, the armor, the face still had the big eyes and the sharp-toothed smile. But was it just her, or was the smile bigger now? They had gone around in endless circles for at least an hour now when they finally came to a dark alley filled with shops, Amethyst was distracted, arguing with a shop keeper over the price of a necklace when Dinky heard a familiar voice. "Doctor look out!" cried a voice from down another alley way. Dinky looked and saw her mother flying and the Doctor running away from a tumbling wall. Dinky did the first thing that came to her mind which was to run. She ran towards the doctor and right as the rubble was about to crash on top of the Doctor, Dinky used her magic, more magic than she ever thought she had, and prevented the rubble from falling. Sweat rolled down Dinky's face as she struggled to hold up the rubble. "Dinky!" called Derpy and Amethyst at the same time. both heading for the small unicorn filly. "Stay back!" Dinky warned. "I'm not sure how much I can hold it." "Doctor do something!" cried Derpy, helping the stallion back to his hooves. "Right...um, yes! Alright, everypony close your eyes." Said the Doctor after looking around, inspecting the surroundings. "But Doctor what about the thi-" Derpy started. "Precisely." said the Doctor. "But what will happen to Dinky? Where will she go?" asked Derpy. "What are you talking about?" Amethyst asked concerned. "Trust me I have it all planned out now just close your eyes!" commanded the Doctor. They all closed their eyes and after but a second, there was a sound like the wind and then the crash of the rubble. They all opened their eyes, the rubble was not that bad, the only thing that seemed to be damaged was the ground. But there was no sign of Dinky anywhere. Then there was fine grey dust, and bits of dark grey rock and green moss in some places. But no sign of Dinky. > Meanwhile > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Doctor and Derpy had just left the fifth Doctor's Tardis when its engines started whirring and it disappeared into thin air. "Where's he off to?" asked Derpy. "Who knows?" said the Doctor. "Uh...you do." replied Derpy. "Well I'm sure it's not important, but anyways, Allonz-y!" The Doctor ran towards the location that the Fifth had shown him on the map with Derpy right behind him. When they reached the spot, there was no TARDIS to be seen. Only a couple of garbage cans filled to the brim. "This doesn't make any sense." said the Doctor. "Maybe another Doctor took it?" said Derpy. "No, can't be that...there are skid marks here, as if the TARDIS was dragged. It would have to be really strong, and really...fast..." the Doctor looked up at Derpy. "I think I know who we're up against." "Who would that be?" Derpy asked skeptically. "A lonely assassin." replied the Doctor. "And I say one, singular, because there are skid marks, little as two lonely assassins could easily pick up my TARDIS with the shields down, which they might have been." "Wait!" interrupted Derpy, "You're telling me you left your shields down!?" "Well, yes but-" started the Doctor. "That has to be the most stupid thing I've ever heard! This is all your fault for not putting up your bucking shields in the first place!" Derpy was about to tackle the Doctor when there was a loud bang from around the corner. The Doctor and Derpy peered around the corner to see a statue with moss growing on it. It had large eyes, and a toothy grin, It wore armor and silver shoes. It resembled an Alicorn, but none of the princesses. "There it is." whispered the Doctor. "The lonely assassin." "And the TARDIS" whispered Derpy. Sure enough, the TARDIS was right behind the statue. "Now Derpy," Said the Doctor not taking his eyes off of the statue. "Whatever you do, do not blink. Don't take your eyes off of it for more than a second." "But it's a statue." commented Derpy. "Right now it is, but the moment you look away, turn your head, blink, it's not a statue anymore. It's a hungry, living, lonely assassin." "But...it's a statue. It can't hurt us." "That's the thing, they have this defense system built into their genes, they turn to stone whenever they are being observed by any sentient being. A stone can't hurt you, but the you turn your head, you look away, you blink, and then yes it can, and yes it will." "How does it," Derpy gulped, "Kill...its victims?" "Well you see, Lonely assassins feed off of potential energy, that means when you are touched by an assassin, they send you back in time. Not any random amount either. What they do is take however long you were going to live after that point, and send you back that amount. They let you live to death. You should, in theory, die on the day that you were touched, but you live much longer. Do you understand what I'm saying?" "Yes Doctor." replied Derpy. Derpy was very scared, but she didn't let it show. "Now we just need to sneak around it without touching it and get into the TARDIS." said the Doctor. They snuck around the statue, going between it and the brick wall. Just a little further and they would be there. But suddenly, Derpy tripped which knocked back the Doctor face down. Derpy flew up as the lonely assassin punched the brick wall causing it to collapse. "Doctor! Look out!" The rubble was about to fall on the Doctor when Dinky came out of no where and used her magic to hold up the bricks. All that was left of the lonely assassin was fine grey dust, and bits of dark grey rock and green moss in some places. But no sign of Dinky. > The Sun is Setting > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derpy and Amethyst were searching frantically through the rubble but to no prevail. There was nothing but brick and stone. Suddenly they heard the whirring engine of the TARDIS, and suddenly a second TARDIS appeared. Out hopped little Dinky, perfectly unharmed. She was followed by none other than the Fifth Doctor. "Why hello there everypony." said the Fifth Doctor. "Found this little lass wandering about so I asked her where her mum might be and she told me here, so here we are." Derpy dashed over to Dinky and gave her a big hug. "Thank you so much! Are you okay muffin? It didn't hurt you did it? How far back did it send you?" "What is going on?" asked Amethyst. "Well you see," said the Doctor, "I knew that the lonely assassin was desperate to feed, and would go after an easy food source like dinky, but the moment it touched her, Dinky was sent back in time, cancelling her spell, and crushing the lonely assassin! It's brilliant isn't it?" "Then I, found her and brought her back." said the Fifth. "And how long ago was that?" asked Derpy. "Well it was just now as you witnessed." said the Fifth, "Well this has been fun, but look at the sun. I must be off." He jumped into his TARDIS and left as fast as he could, revealing a nice sunset. "Okay, everypony safe and accounted for? Good! Now let's go." the Doctor said prancing around his TARDIS. "Doctor." said Derpy. "Yes?" he replied. "When was it that he found her?" Derpy asked. "I don't know." "Yes you do you were there." said Derpy. "Yeah and who was that guy again?" asked Amethyst. "I'll explain it later." said the Doctor. "But Derpy I don't remember, that was lifetimes ago." But the Doctor did remember, even if he had to be reminded telepathically by the Fifth, "I found her yesterday."
