First and Only Chapter That Gives You No Time To Think, Breathe or Understand Anything
"998, 999 1000!" Pinkie shouted, coming to a halt and looking at Rainbow Dash, who was sitting on a bench nearby, staring at her with wide eyes.
"That. Was. AWESOME!!!" The blue Pegasus shouted, jumping off her seat. "How did you manage to do that? Aren't you dizzy?"
"Nope." Pinkie replied, running off towards Sugar Cube Corner to tell her friends about her latest achievement.
Unfortunately for her, she didn't notice the lamp post in front of her, and ran straight into it.
"PINKIE PIE!" Rainbow shouted, rushing to the aid of the pink earth pony. "Are you OK?!?"
Pinkie's eyes spun around her head as she looked up at Rainbow Dash. "I'm fine." She answered, her eyes coming to a stop far from where they were supposed to. "But," She continued. "You really shouldn't use that mirror pool. It's dangerous."
Rainbow Dash became rather confused. "Mirror pool? What are you talking about, Pinkie?"
"The mirror pool in the Ever Free forest." Pinkie Pie insisted, sitting up. "You know, the one I used to make copies of myself?"
Rainbow's confusion grew. "I haven't been cloning myself, Pinkie!"
Pinkie stared at the confused blue Pegasus. "If you haven't." She asked. "Then why are there two of you?"
Rainbow suddenly realised what was wrong. "Oh no." She muttered. "TWILIGHT!!!"
Pinkie watched as her friend flew in the direction of Twilight Sparkle's library, before turning around and coming face to face with a yellow haired, grey pony.
"Why, hello Derpy!" She smiled, taking a step back to get a better look at the grey mare. "Did you take a visit to the mirror pool too?"
Derpy smiled and shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about." She said simply.
Pinkie Pie scratched her head as she looked around at the other passing ponies. "That's funny," She mumbled just loud enough for Derpy to hear. "It seems like everypony is cloning themselves!"
Derpy's face lit up. "You mean, you're seeing double?" She asked.
"I guess you could put it that way."
Derpy suddenly hugged the unsuspecting pink pony. "I thought it was just me. Now I have somepony else like me!" She cheered.
Pinkie Pie laughed. "I had just finished breaking the Equestrian record for spinning around without messing up and then suddenly everypony had a double!"
"Oooh!" The grey mare crooned. "You broke the record? Could you show me?"
"Sure!"
2374 spins and 1.5 hours later, Pinkie Pie had managed to break the record again with a total of 1003 spins completed without messing up.
"In fact," Pinkie Pie told Derpy. "This was when I started seeing double! I just walked into this post and bam! Double!"
To prove her point, Pinkie ran into the lamp post again, knocking herself to the ground.
Derpy hovered over the pink earth pony. "Are you alright?"
Pinkie Pie sprang up. "I'm better than alright!" She shouted. "I've stopped seeing double!"
Derpy stared blankly at the earth pony for a few seconds, before her face burst into a huge smile.
And so, for the next 3 hours, all the new best friends did was spin around and run into poles. It was the best fun they ever had in a long time, even though it caused many a pony to stare at them with a worried and confused look on their face.
The two ponies had just finished running into the lamp post for the 83rd time, when they heard a shout.
"Pinkie Pie!"
The mares turned around to see Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle rushing towards them.
"Took you long enough!" Cried Pinkie as soon as the rainbow haired Pegasus got within earshot.
"Well," Rainbow Dash replied. "Twilight was off in Canterlot doing dumb royal business. Go figure. I had to argue with the dumb royal guards and convince them to let me in. It wasn't until 4 hours later that Twilight found out I was there and let me in."
Twilight was about to add something to the Pegasus's vague explanation, when she noticed Derpy.
"Oh, my gosh! Derpy! Your eyes are better!" She cried.
"Yep." the yellow haired Pegasus replied blinking proudly (If that was even possible). "I just did this and it was all better!"
She ran into the lamp post again to demonstrate, but ended up knocking herself out cold.
After taking a deep, annoyed breath,Twilight stared at Pinkie Pie, who had a large purple bruise on her head from bashing it repeatedly.
"You guys better go home." She mumbled, levitating the unconscious mare above her head. "It must have been a very long day for you guys."
Pinkie Pie agreed, and trotted back to her room on the top floor of Sugar Cube Corner. Once there, she got out a quill and piece of parchment and started to write.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I broke the Equestrian record for spinning around without messing up. I also strengthened my bond with one of my best friends, Derpy Hooves. It's funny how one thing can lead to another, and how good things sometimes come by accident! Together, we discovered the cure for lazy eye, and somehow managed to freak out everypony in Ponyville. It was very fun. I'm going to try to break another world record tomorrow and, who knows, I might just make a new friend! In a nutshell, I learned something, but I can't really explain what it is in words. So I'm going to do it in song instead!
I was spinning round and round 'til I was dizzy,
Then I met my old friend, mother of Ditzy!
I found a cure to her annoying lazy eye,
and running into poles was how we spent the night!

She slipped the letter under her pillow.
"I'll save that for Spike to send tomorrow." She mumbled happily to Gummy, who was sitting on the end of her bed.
Yawning, she slid under the soft, balloon and streamer covered blanket, singing her song quietly to herself, adding a new verse.
I was spinning round and round 'til I was dizzy,
Then I met my old friend, mother of Ditzy!
I found a cure to her annoying lazy eye,
and running into poles was how we spent the night!
I hope that tomorrow it will happen all again,
But off to dreamworld we will drift, 'til then.
"Goodnight, Gummy. Goodnight, Mr and Mrs Cake. Goodnight, Pound. Goodnight, Pumpkin. Goodnight, Derp...y... Goodnight… to… every… pony… in… Equestria…Zzz."
And with that last goodnight, she drifted off to sleep.
