Where are my peaches!?” Twilight screamed from her study as her stomach rumbled, “I NEED PEACHES!” “Sorry! Just… gotta… reach for this peach…” Spike said. He rolled his body over 90 degrees, and stretched out his hand, reaching for the peach. It’s so close, Spike thought. Upon further observation, Spike realised that the peach was, in fact, more than 3 arms lengths away from him. “Hang on Twilight! Gotta stand!” Thrusting his hand deep down into the wood, he slowly lifted his dragon body up as he shifted his feet under him. Now in a kneeling position, he crawled over to the bag of peaches, and slowly picked up some of the peaches that were on the floor. With about 1 peaches, woops, 1 peach in his hand, he threw it in the general direction of up, and hoped that it made its way to Twilight. He slumped back on the floor and took a peach. Munch. The peachiness enveloped Spike’s mouth. Munch. The smell, released from its skin, floated around the air while Spike breathed it all in, all the peachy goodness. “You missed!” Twilight shouted back, her stomach rumbling more than before, “try again!” “Wan Shec-… shecond!” Spike’s belly started to hurt at this point. Too many peaches… he thought to himself. Too little peaches… he corrected. He turned his head towards the peaches. The blurry mountain of peaches were now within arms length. Picking up another peach, he aimed for Twilight and threw the peach at her. The peach, leaving the hand of Spike with a velocity of 4 metres per second, at an angle of 50 degrees, was destined to reach the study. Spike’s hand imparted just enough force to accelerate the peach to that velocity, and when it was released, it was no longer in anyone’s control. The fate of the peach, was to be determined solely by the laws of motion. Gravity constantly pulled the peach back down to Equestria. As the peach slowly lost vertical velocity, the direction the peach was traveling slowly decreased. 40 degrees. 20 degrees. 10 degrees. Finally, it reached its peak and started tumbling back down towards the wood. 10 degrees. 20 degrees. The peach reached its final destination. It gently pushed against Twilight’s head; decelerating quickly and bouncing off the head, the peach fell to the ground of the upper level. The force on Twilight’s head knocked her out of her stasis, as she tried to focus her eyes on the book, then the peach. It dawned on her. Her vision went black for a full second. Disoriented as her attention was brought away from the world, and inwards into her mind. Oh no… Twilight could only think. Oh no no no no no! How could this be! Truly, the biggest mistake I’ve ever seen in my entire life! Why did I let this happen! Oh Celestia I have failed you. I’m so sorry. I should’ve saw this coming. I should’ve never ever ever done this in the first place. How could I have not foreseen this? I should’ve asked Peachy Keen to bring a sack of peaches to the study! Now my peach is too far away for me to eat it! Calm down, Twilight. You can do this. It’s a simple levitation spell. Focus the energy, create the paradoxes, easy! Twilight focused her magical energy, and created the paradoxes required to cast the levitation spell on the peach. The energy was transferred from her to the peach. Now to lift it towards me… The peach exploded. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- The door shuddered as gentle taps on the door alerted the inhabitants that someone was here. Spike, being a reliable secretary, identified the knocks. “Twilight? Twiliiiight” “…” “Twilight? You there?” “I’m here…” Twilight mumbled. “No you aren’t, Fluttershy is!” “Flutters? Fluttershy!” “Can I come in?” Fluttershy’s sweet voice vibrated the air gently. Such sweetness could only be returned with one response. “Yes!” Twilight said. “I mean no!” Twilight corrected. “What’s wrong Twilight? We’re all genuinely worried about you. We can’t even open the door and neither can Celestia! For goodness sake, what’s been keeping you in there?” “I think I casted a psychic spell that only lets people who have permission into the library. Sorry but it’s closed. You know, peach and quiet… I mean peace and quiet! No peaches here! Heheh” “What? Anyway, please let us in, you haven’t left here in 200 days!” “Mmm peaches…” Spike mumbled. “What was that? I couldn’t quite hear you.” “Shh Spike! Quiet!” Twilight whispered “Did you say something? Twilight?” “…” “Twilight?” The door seemed to magically open. Well, of course, it was enchanted with magic after all. Twilight’s friends whispered amongst themselves, as the door creaked open, bit by bit. A peachy sight was revealed. Rainbow Dash walked in and said, “what’s this thing? A fruit with fur?” “I think that’s a peach,” Fluttershy suggested. “Oh everyone knows what a peach is, haven’t you heard? It’s the craze in Canterlot right now.” Rarity said. “I’ve never seen a peach before. Are the stories true?” Celestia wondered aloud. “Ah think they are, Princess!” Applejack said, “the stories that when you take a single bite, the peachy goodness fills you up with absolute joy. Ah’ve never seen one before.” Rainbow Dash’s eyes filled up with peachy goodness. She had taken a bite. “PEACHES!” The six mares each took a bite of the peaches, and slowly, the door of Golden Oak Library closed. Bit by bit… 100 days later, 300 A.P Peachy Keen opened the door to the Golden Oak Library. “Here’s your monthly supply of peaches!” “Thank you Peachy!” everyone replied with eyes of peach and peach alone. “Thank you so so much.”
