John woke up, not knowing where he was, as he did not see his cieling over his head,he never expected to wake up in Equestria, or more specifically, on the edge of the Everfree forest near Ponyvile.
my first story!
John wakes up without his cieling above him, he was suprised to see what he saw, when he got up he saw he was in Equestria. He was a big fan of My Little Pony, and allways said if he could live in Equestria, he would. All his friends stopped seeing him much, so he didn't really have any real friends. This is his story of how his mysterious time in Equestria, made him realise what true friends are, and that anyone can become a hero, if they just do the right thing
As this is my first ever story about mlp to be published, I thought i should add some info before starting.
Our main character is John and the main 6, other ponies and creatures from the show might make an appearence. I also might make ponies from other stories make an appearence, and credit will be given to the creator of the pony, as well as a note to what story it is taken from.
Criticism is ok, as long as its not over the top. Like forgetting big letters after periods. And other smaller details that is easy to miss.
It will be updated every now and then, so dont expect a new chapter everyday,if all hell breaks loose, or i get transported to equestria, i will put it on hold, or say in author note what im gonna do, and for how long, so you know when to expect the next chapter.
Also, some chapters are bound to be longer than others, but i do expect to have some decent length chapters(1500 words minimum).
IF i do use a OC pony but forget to give credits please write a comment and i will fix it ASAP! i dont want credit for a pony i did not make. Also if i use a pony, and you dont want me using it, tell me, and i will rewrite the chapter/story so he/she wont be in it.
If text appears as 'this' then its a though, even in the middle of a sentence, but only if it has ' and is in this way.

NOTE: slow progression, not much happening in the firts 4 chapters.
Now the intro is out of the way, lets start the story.
John woke up remembering he was trying a new drink down at the bar before going black.
"I have got to stop trying all the new drinks, I can’t handle them!" he shouted out to no one in particular. As he opened his eyes, he was a bit confused, he expected to see his apartments cieling, not a clear blue sky with a few clouds.
'why am I not in my bed' he thought to himself as he got up, still feeling a bit sleepy. He tried looking around, and was a bit confused about the scenery.
"I have got to be dreaming, because that forest behind me is the Everfree forest" he looked around some more before almost screaming "and there is Ponyville!" he started to walk towards Ponyville, seeing as how he was a fan of the show, maybe his mind was playing tricks on him. He was however stopped by a blur of cyan flying past him, only inches from his head. "JESUS CHRIST!" he yelled as he looked behind him, only to see Rainbow Dash standing there, looking at him as if he was a threat. "Okay this dream is getting weird." he said out loud, Rainbow Dash just looked at him with a slightly confused face. They just looked at each other for a few moments until Rainbow Dash decided to ask him
"What are you? How can you talk? And why did you come out of the Everfree forest?" He looked at her with confusion in his eyes
"So I’m not dreaming? This is real?" he asked back, Rainbow Dash just looked at him, unsure of what to say.
"You came out of the Everfree forest, and a moving towards Ponyville. Give me one good reason not to attack you right now!" she said looking at him.
"Okay, but before that" he said looking at her with less confusion, "is Twilight around? She would love to ask some questions, if I’m not mistaken" Dash just moved closer to him.
"You know Twilight?" she asked.
"Not really, I just know much about this world, now is she around?" he said back “I still don’t trust you, even IF you know twilight, I’m not just going to let you walk into ponyville.” Rainbow dash said, still looking like she was ready to fight.
“And I can understand that, but I can safely say, I don’t mean anypony any harm, otherwise I would have attacked you already.” He replied, in a calm tone.
“Maybe you are just waiting for the right time to attack me, or the other resident of ponyville, I’m not going to let you do that.” She said, looking like she was getting ready to attack.
“Calm down Rainbow Dash, I don’t want to hurt you, but I might have to if you attack me” he said back, getting into position to fight back.
“How do you know my name?” she said, looking a bit more confused.
“Well I know a lot about this world, and some of the ponies in it. Mostly the elements of harmony, and the cutie mark crusaders.”
“Wait, you know about the elements of harmony!?” she asked raising her voice a little.
“Yes I do, and I also know you are the fastest flyer in all of Equestria.” He said, looking as rainbow dash blushed a bit.
“Well at least you have that info correct, but I still don’t trust you enough to just let you walk away.” She said back, still blushing a bit.
“Well I’m not going to stay here all day, so either you attack me, or let me pass, either way I won't hold it against you.” he said, still standing ready to fight back.
“Okay, you asked for it creature, I won't hold back!” she said as she lunged towards him, hoping to catch him off guard. Unfortunately for her, he was ready. She tried to hit him with her front right hoof, which he barely dodged as he caught her hind left hoof, forced her to the ground, and held her down.
“I told you I might have to hurt you, now calm down before it might start to hurt.” He said with a calm tone.
“I won't hold back, I’m not just going to let you walk into ponyville, and possibly hurt my friends!” she said as she started to flap her wings, hitting John in the face, which forced him to let go. “You are not as tough as I though, or maybe you are just holding back?” she said, now hovering a bit above the ground.
“Well, like I said I don’t want to hurt you, but you might leave me no choice.” He said, getting a little mad.
“Come on, how bad can it be, you can’t even hold me down for more than 2 seconds.” She said laughing a bit
“Well, that was because I was trying not to hurt you, but how about you come down on the ground and we settle this? I won't hold back this time” he said, laughing a bit at the end as well.
“Oh so now you are getting serious, this is going to be fun.” She said, showing a small smile as she landed. John lunged forwards, grabbing her around the neck, but was met with her front left hoof in his stomach.
“Ouch, that hurt you know” he said with his smile getting bigger, still holding around her neck.
“That was the plan, giving up” she said.
“Not anytime soon, but you might!” he said, as he lifted her up, and threw her towards the ground.
“This is really fun, you ok Dash?” John said as he looked at her just lying there.
“Ow, I thought you said you didn’t want to hurt me” she said, catching her breath.
“Yeah, but I did say I would not hold back this time” he said as he lend her a hand to get up.
“Well you have had plenty of opportunities to do some serious harm to me, yet you don’t, why won't you?” she asked John.
“I told you, I’m not here to hurt anypony, I actually don’t know why I’m here, the last thing I remember was going home from my local bar after trying a new drink” he said, sitting down on the grass.
“Wait, you are not from the Everfree forest?” she asked with confusion.
“No, I’m not even from this world, but I think twilight might have an idea what happened to me, since I woke up here.” He replied.
“well, let’s get going then, like you said, she must have a million questions about you and where you are from.” She said as she got up, and started to hover a little above the ground.
A few minutes later they arrived at the library, in the meantime he had found out how tall he was in comparison to the ponies. Rainbow dash, was only as high as his chest. So he was taller than the ponies, although he was still unsure about his size in comparison to Celestia or Luna, as they are Alicorns and larger than your average pony. Dash knocked on the door, and Twilight quickly replied
"Just a minute". The door swung open and Twilight walked out and saw Rainbow Dash floating outside. "Hello Rainbow Dash, what do you want? Let me guess, more Daring Do?" she asked with a small smile.
"No, not today, I found this Thing just outside the Everfree forest, and it wanted to talk with you" she said pointing her hoof at John. Twilight let out a small eep, as she looked at John.
"Don’t worry Twilight, I’m not here to hurt you, or any other pony for that matter" he said with a calm tone. She looked at him with a bit of confusion in her eyes.
“It only hurt me because I forced it to, so it can’t really be blamed for it."
"What are you?" she said.
"I’m a male human, or homo-sapiens if you want the scientific term" she looked at him with a big smile on her face.
"Oh wow, I have never seen or heard of a 'human' before, where are you from, what are you wearing, and how did you know my name? Oh I have so many questions to ask you" she said with an even bigger smile on her face.
"Yes I know that, but before that, don’t you think you should write to Princess Celestia about a new creature?" he said with a small smile, since he had seen the show.
"How did you know about the princess?" she asked him with confusion in her eyes again, but decided to write to the Princess anyway.
After a few minutes the Princess arrived in a bright flash outside the library, along with twenty royal guards. John went outside to meet with the princess, but was knocked into the ground by one of the guards. "Well that’s one way to say hello" he said sarcastically. The princess then noticed John and asked the guard to release him.
"I’m sorry for my guard’s behavior, I hope he did not hurt you" she said.
"No big deal , I was prepared for that" John said as he got up, then bowed to the Princess "it’s an honor to finally meet you Princess Celestia" he said before returning to a standing position. Shining Armor turned around, looked him in his eyes and said.
"If you hurt my little Twily, I’m going to hurt you so bad you wish you were dead!" John simply replied.
"I would not hurt Twilight, even if my own life was on the line, so back of Shining Armor" Celestia looked a bit confused and asked.
"How do you know about Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle?" John looked at Celestia and replied.
"I know a lot about this world, more than you might think, but just so you can all feel safe, I would like to be taken into custody and put behind bars, just for a few days, this will also be a great way for me to adjust to this world"
"And why would I do that? you have done nothing wrong, or hurt anypony" Celestia said, John got a small smile on his lips.
"well i have hurt Rainbow Dash" he said. Celestia looked shocked. "now then, it is just for the other ponies to feel safer, and it is also a way for me to learn a bit more about this world 'and figure out how far the timeline has come', have no fear I will follow quietly and be a good prisoner for however long you decide, but I wish for you to put me in prison for at least 3 days. Just because I seem nice does not mean I was not sent here to kill somepony, that I was just acting nicely to get close to somepony, such as yourself Celestia" Celestia looked at John, still a bit confused by it all.
"very well, you will be placed in prison until we decide to let you out again, now are you ready to be taken down by twenty guards?" she asked with a small smile on her lips before they jumped John and held I’m to the ground, as he passed out the last thing he saw was the small smile on Celestia's lips.
Three days have passed, John is still in the Canterlot prison. He has gotten more used to being in Equestria. Twilight has visited him every day, asking him questions, as well as answered questions. He has found out the timeline he knows from the show, is not quite the same as it is here but it is very close, Twilight is still only a unicorn so it's before the season 3 ending, though he is unsure of how long until Twilight will become an Alicorn. They now also know how his parents died in a car accident where he was sitting in the backseat, and his current age, which is twenty two years old. He has only told Celestia and Luna about how he knows what he does about Equestria, and they have agreed to withhold that information for now, as they are unsure of what consequences in might have. The guards have gotten used to John, and he has been let out of the prison a few times, with escort of course, to see Luna and Celestia, so they can learn more about what he knows. Pinkie pie was a bit mad about how he had to stay in the prison a few days, because she wanted to have a party, welcoming him to Equestria, but for now applejack and rarity was able to convince her to wait.
“Good morning John, how are you today?” Twilight asked as she came closer to the cell.
“I’m felling quite good, I have gotten used to you, and it seems like you have all gotten used to me, maybe Celestia will let me out within the next few days” he replied. “So what questions do you have for me today?” he asked back.
“I don’t have any more questions for you, no matter how hard I think, I can’t come up with any questions.”
“Well, that’s a surprise, and a first as far as I know.” He smiled back at her.
“You still haven’t told me how you know so much about our world, you have only said you are from another one, where many other humans live.” She said with a small frown.
“Well, as Celestia and Luna have told me, after I told them how I know what I know, I should keep it secret, at least for now. So there is not much I can do, don’t want the sun goddess or moon goddess mad at me.” He chuckled.
“Even so, can’t you tell me just a little bit? I promise I won't tell them, and the guards are changing shift soon.” She said, making puppy eyes as she looked at John.
“Sorry, but for now I won't tell, when the time comes I’m sure Celestia will tell you herself.” He said, barely resisting her.
“Anyway the princess has told me, that you will be let out today, and so far are going to stay with applejack, more specifically in the barn. Since its summer, the temperature shouldn’t drop too low for you. We still haven’t figured out what to do when winter comes, but Celestia is working on it” Twilight said.
“At least I will get out of here, it's starting to get boring in here, don’t get me wrong, it's nice talking to you, but it was getting into the same routine, making it boring.”
“Well I can see why, you don’t have much to do in here, but that will soon change, for now you have been assigned a job at Sweet Apple Acres to buck apples, or however you do it.”
“At least I will have something to wake up for in the morning.”
“If you need something, a talk a book or a letter sent to Celestia, just tell me, I’m a good listener, and since I live in the library I can recommend some books, and spike can send letters directly to Celestia, but you already knew all of this.” She said, remembering he knew most of the things about this world.
“Attention!” one of the guards shouted.
“Relax, I am just here to set our ‘prisoner’ free” she said with a small smile.
“I hope you are talking about me, a little bird told me I was getting out today.” He said winking at Twilight.
“Well that little bird has heard correct, guard open the cell” she said, looking at the nearest guard.
“As you wish Princess” he said. As his horn lit up, the cell door swung open and John walked out. Taking a deep breath he said out loud.
“Man it's good to be free again, it was getting rather dull sitting in a small confined space most of the day, even though I asked to be put in here, it's still great to be out again.”
“I’m glad to hear that, has the bird also told you what you are to do for now?” Celestia asked.
“Yes, it's quite a smart bird, I am going to work at Sweet Apple Acres with Applejack to Buck apples in the best way I can, and I sleep in the barn during this summer, though it's still unclear about when winter comes.”
“You are quite correct, I must find out who the little bird was, so she can get a treat.” Celestia said with a smile.
“Shall we get going? I really need to see the outside again, and breathe in some fresh air.” John said, as he started to move towards the exit. As soon as he got out, he looked up, took a deep breath, and shouted at the top of his lungs “FREEDOM!” Celestia and Twilight just looked at him with confusion in their eyes.
“What was the point of doing that?” Twilight asked.
“It's just something I have always wanted to do, it was a part of a movie I once saw, though I can’t remember the name.” John replied. “Where to? And when is Pinkie’s party?” he asked.
“To the train station, the others are going to be at the train station, waiting for us and we have about fifteen minutes to get there. And Pinkie’s party is as soon as we arrive in Ponyville. ” Twilight replied.
“Well then, let’s get going then” he turned to Celestia “it was nice being here Princess Celestia, please give my thanks to Princess Luna.” Celestia looked at him.
“How many times do I have to tell you John, just call me Celestia, and my sister Luna, there is no need for formalities, we are friends are we not?” she asked John.
“Of course we are Celestia, I just like to joke around sometimes, and it's not every day you can joke around with a goddess of the sun, so I got to take advantage of it when I can.” He said, smiling at Celestia.
“I certainly can’t blame you for that” she chuckled.
“Let’s get going Twilight, don’t want to miss our train, otherwise we won't hear the end of it from Pinkie.” John said, looking at Twilight.
“Hello my name is John, it's nice to meet you all. I hope to become your friend, and I hope you want me as a friend too” John said, as he introduced himself to Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.
“Well howdy, so you’re the fella who’s going to stay at the farm, I hope you’re not afraid of hard work or getting your hooves dirty, or whatever you call it.” Applejack said, holding her hoof out, John shook it and said.
“As long as I can do it, I will do my best, though I might not buck them, I might try doing something else.”
“As long as you get them apples into the baskets, I don’t care how ya do it.”
“You got it Applejack.” John said, looking to Rarity.
“Why hello there darling, you seem like someone who knows how to treat a lady.” She said smiling at John.
“Why yes I do.” He said taking Rarity’s hoof in his hand kissing it lightly “though I don’t have many chances to show the gentle side of myself in my world, as being a gentleman has slowly been turned into someone trying to flirt with the person he is being nice to.”
“My my, such manners, I think our friendship is certain to be, and if you ever need clothes, come by my boutique the.” She said as John cut her off.
“Carousel Boutique, I know of it, though I can’t yet reveal my sources, I will gladly accept, seeing as I only have this set of clothes.” John said, as he looked over to Rainbow Dash.
“We still have a fight to settle, to see which of us is better than the other.” Rainbow Dash said, smiling a little.
“And we will, but maybe we should wait till after Pinkie’s party, she might be mad if she can’t get it held soon.” And as if cued, Pinkie jumped on to John’s head.
“Hi I’m Pinkie Pie, your John right?” she said with much joy and energy.
“yes I am John, nice to meet you Pinkie, but if you don’t mind” he said grabbing her and placing her on the floor “would you mind not doing that too much, even though you are smaller than me, you are still rather heavy compared to what I can lift” Pinkie looked over at John with a smile.
“Noted, so are you looking forward to your party?” Pinkie asked.
“Yes I am, I can only hope to imagine how it will turn out.” He said with a smile.
“Don’t worry, it will be lots of fun, and cake, and other snacks. I’m sure you will like it.” Pinkie said, her smile growing even bigger. John then looked to Fluttershy. Who was slightly hiding behind Rainbow Dash.
“Hello Fluttershy, I’m John, it's nice to meet you.” He held out his hand in a friendly way. Fluttershy walked over, held her hoof up and said back.
“It’s, uh.. Nice to meet you too.” She said, letting out a small eep as John grabbed her hoof, shaking it lightly.
“Well that was the introduction, how long until we arrive at Ponyville?” John asked Twilight.
“About thirty minutes, why?” she asked back.
“Well, I have to prepare for Pinkies party, maybe get some new clothes, which means getting my measurements taken by Rarity, and I have to get familiar with Ponyville, so I can find my way around it.” He said back.
“That sounds like a good idea, do you want me to take your measurements now darling?” Rarity asked.
“not right now, but before Pinkies party, that way I can get some clothes before getting to work with Applejack, Though I will keep one item on at all times, as human physiology is different from ponies.” John replied, blushing a bit.
“As long as I can get accurate measurements I suppose its fine, it's not like I can force you to take it off.” She said, smiling a bit.
“I’m just going to ignore that smile for now, and hope you are not thinking what I think you might be thinking.” John said with a nervous look on his face.
“oh, oh I forgot to put your name on the cake John, so it might take about 5 minutes before the party gets started, hope you don’t mind.” Pinkie said, looking a bit sad.
“It's ok Pinkie, then I can get my measurements before the party, without too much rush.” He said, slowly brushing her mane, sniffing in a bit, trying to confirm a myth from the internet. Her mane does smell like cotton candy, it smells good
“oh, that felt really great, can you do it again sometime?” Pinkie asked.
“Well, since I have fingers, it makes it better, and yes I can always do it again, also on you.” He said looking around the group. “Just ask if you want to try it out.” He said smiling.
“I feel like trying now, if you don’t mind.” Twilight said.
“Sure, I do have two hands, and I can multitask pretty well.” He said, still smiling a bit.
As the train arrived at Ponyville, they all got off, Johns hand was a bit numb from all the mane brushing, but he did not mind, as even Fluttershy wanted to try in the end. They all split up, Twilight heading for the library Rarity and John heading for the Carousel Boutique, to get his measurements. Pinkie headed straight for the Sugarcube Corner to finish up preparations for the party. Applejack walked towards Sweet Apple Acres, Fluttershy towards her cottage, and Rainbow Dash flew up on a sky, possibly to take a nap. Rarity of course took the measurements and had a small black jacket with a red stripe down the back, made within 10 minutes, she really is skilled with a needle and thread. he thought as he admired the jacket, fitting perfectly.
“So, how did I do? Does it fit all right?” Rarity asked.
“Yes it fits me perfectly. And I love the colors, I might want another one made soon, with a specific pattern I have in mind, but for now let’s get some nice clothes for Pinkie’s party, how about some pants in the same style, with a red stripe down the back of each leg?” John said, imagining how it would look.
“I must say, you do have a great sense of style darling. Are you sure you were not a fashion designer back in your world?” Rarity asked.
“I am quite sure, the last thing I remember about fashion, is how all the people who asked me about it, told me how little sense I have about it, but that’s because the fashion in this world and the fashion in my world are very different from each other.” He said looking at rarity, who already had the black pants made, just needed the red stripes. “You have incredible speeds, in my world something like this would take about an hour, for something very high quality, but here it takes less than a minute, even though you haven’t made any clothes for a human before.”
“It must be because I have to be prepared for any request and therefore I have learned to make clothes with high quality, in the shortest amount of time.” She said, just putting the finishing touches to the pants, before handing them over to John, who then changed behind a curtain.
“Just like the jacket it fits perfectly, and they look awesome as well, shall we get going towards the library, so we can pick up Twilight before going to Sugarcube Corner?” John asked Rarity, who was putting her tools down.
“I have to change too you know.” She replied, looking at him with a small smile.
“Oh right, I forgot you all have nice clothes too, on a side note, where is sweetie belle, and the rest of the Cutie Mark Crusader’s? I haven’t seen them yet.” John asked, looking around a bit, not touching anything.
“They are camping in their clubhouse for a few days, but I’m sure you will meet them tomorrow when you are bucking apples, they usually hang out around the barn and try all sorts of things to get their cutie marks.” She chuckled. About a minute later she came down wearing the same dress she had on at the grand galloping gala.
“Wow, it's quite something to see it like this.” John said as he looked at the dress. Rarity blushed a bit.
“Well it's not every day pinkie holds a party for a new creature in Equestria, and I was not really using it much anyway.” John and Rarity left for the library, meeting Spike, Twilight, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Applejack just outside Sugarcube Corner, all of them wearing the same dress as the one they used at the Grand Galloping Gala.
“I’m starting to feel underdressed here, spike has a fancy tuxedo, the rest of you all wear the same dresses as the Grand Galloping Gala, which looks really good on all of you, and I’m just wearing a fashionable jacket with matching pants.” John said, with a slight smile.
“You don’t have to fear, I’m sure Pinkie is not wearing her dress, when she is in a party mood, she usually just parties in whatever she is wearing.” Twilight said.
“I’m still feeling underdressed, but I still can’t wait for the party to start, I have always been wondering what it's like to actually be at a Pinkie Party.” A few seconds later, music started to play inside Sugarcube Corner.
“Sounds like the party is starting, we better head inside.” Twilight said. Just as we headed inside, the song changed
“Wow I have heard this song before, it’s in my world too.” John said, before seeing the great amount of ponies who stared at him. “Right, forgot I’m the only human around.”
“Hi John!” Pinkie shouted as she ran up to him and gave him a hug. “I hope you don’t mind, I invited all of my friends”
“I don’t mind Pinkie, I had just forgotten for a second that I’m not in my world, shall we get the introduction out of the way, or is there cake hidden somewhere” John chuckled at the last bit.
“You should start with introduction, it might make it easier for everypony to understand what you are.” Twilight said.
“Ok then, pinkie could you find a microphone? That way they can hear me in the back too.” John said.
“Sure I will just ask Vinyl for one, she usually brings one so she can get the crowd singing along.” Pinkie said as she hopped away.
“Should we come with you darling?” Rarity asked.
“No it's ok, if I get attacked and need help I will call for it.” John said.
“I don’t think anypony would attack you.” Twilight said.
“Even so, they might due to me being a new ‘thing’ in town, so I’m just saying this in case something happens.”
“Ok then, we won't help unless you call for help, or collapse on the floor.” Twilight said. Pinkie returned with a wireless microphone, and handed it to John.
“Thank you Pinkie, as soon as this song ends, I will introduce myself.” John said, before walking towards the stage.
The song ended and everypony cheered. John got up on the stage, looked at Vinyl who simply nodded back, then turned to the crowd. “Sorry for stopping the music, but don’t worry, I won't take long.” He said, as he looked around the room, noting where the cake was placed, as well as the drinks. “My name is John, I’m a human and so far the only human in Equestria, I’m going to work at Sweet Apple Acres with Applejack, and I just wanted to say hello.” John then looked around at the different ponies as they studied him. “if anyone has a question, I will be near the cake as soon as I get down from here” he turned to vinyl and nodded, as he did, the music came back on, and John made his way to the cake, where Twilight and the rest of the group was standing. “I didn’t expect questions from you all so soon.” He said laughing a little.
“We are not here to ask questions John.” Twilight said with a small frown. “We wanted to say great introduction, short and straight to the point.”
“Thank you, but I don’t really deserve any credit for it, I’m not good at making speeches so I just said the most useful info.”
“You still kept a good posture, and looked like you knew what you were doing darling.” Rarity said.
“Ya even said were you are going to work, not exactly important info.” Applejack said with a smile.
“I didn’t know what else to say, I have never had to introduce myself to anyone before.” John replied.
“You still did a fantastic job at it.” Pinkie said as energetic as ever. John took a piece of cake, and took a bite.
“Wow, really good cake Pinkie.” He commented.
“Thank you, it's a standard birthday cake, but with a different text on it.” She said.
“Even so, it's still very tasty.”
“Excuse me, John?” a mare asked.
“Yes, any questions?” Jon replied.
“Yes, how old are you? If you don’t mind me asking that.” The mare said.
“I don’t mind questions, I’m 22 years old, in human years. Not sure how much that is in pony years, any other questions?”
“Just one, would you mind if I interview you a news article?”
“Nope, I won't mind one bit.”
“Thank you, when is it best for you?”
“I think I have tomorrow free, so why not tomorrow at noon?”
“That would be great thank you” she said as she turned around.
“Hey wait, what’s your name?”
“My name is Daisy Sprinkles.” she said, as she walked away.
“Ok then, interview tomorrow at noon.” He confirmed with himself.
The next day arrived, John was interviewed, Twilight had already asked most of the questions, so it was not hard for him to answer them. It took around two hours to complete the interview.
“John, could you be a darling and come to my boutique for a moment, I have some new clothes for you to try on” Rarity called out.
“Sure, I would love to see what you made me.” John replied. A few minutes later they arrived at Rarity’s shop.
“Ok then, what have you made me?” John asked excited.
“Some more clothes in the same style as the ones you already have, but in different colors.” She turned to John. “And I would like to see the pattern you talked about.”
“Of course, I almost forgot about the pattern.” About an hour later, the jacket was done, with a cool pattern, with multiple colors blending into each other.
“How do you like it sweetie? Personally I love it, it's new, but still very fashionable” Rarity asked.
“It looks even better than I thought it would, you really are fantastic with a needle and thread, and some magic.”
“You flatter me John, but yes I must say it looks incredible.”
“I better get going, Applejack said something about meeting the Cutie Mark Crusader.”
“Just remember, if you need some more clothes, or need some of it fixed, just tell me.” Rarity said, as John left the Boutique
“Don’t worry, I will.” He said, waving as he left. After ten minutes of walking, John suddenly fell to the ground, felling some hooves on his backs.
“What is this?” he heard a filly voice. Who he quickly remembered as Scootaloo
“I don’t know Scootaloo, but it might be what Applejack was talking about.” He heard Sweetie Belle say.
“This may not be the best impression we could make.” Applebloom said, as the three fillies jumped off his back.
“It's ok, I was not expecting you to put me to the ground, but I was expecting to meet you.” John replied to Applebloom, before getting up, and dusting himself off.
“Are ya sure it's ok? Did we hurt you?” Applebloom asked.
“Yes I’m fine, takes more than that to take me out, and no, you did not hurt me, only my pride”
“Are you sure?” Sweetie Belle asked.
“Yes I’m sure, you are not heavy compared to other things that I have had on my back.” John replied
“And I’m Applebloom.” They then started in unison “and we are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!”
“Great to meet you all, I’m John, the first and so far only human in Equestria, and I’m going to be working with Applejack at the farm.”
“Cool. We better get going, we have lots of crusading to do today, see ya later John” Applebloom said before rushing off with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
“Bye, see you all later” John replied. He then noticed twilight running up to him. “Hey Twilight, something wrong, or perhaps a new question?”
“something might be wrong, since you have arrived I have been sensing some strange magic, but it seems to fade whenever you are not around, and when I get near you, I can sense it again.” She said, sounding a bit worried.
“Wait a second, let me get this straight, I have magic?” he asked.
“Maybe, I can’t tell for sure before you try to use it.”
“Ok how do I use it then? I don’t have a horn to channel the magic through.” He said pointing to his forehead.
“Try doing that, with your finger.” Twilight said.
“Pointing? Ok then, but I still don’t know how to use magic.”
“Don’t worry, since I’m really good at magic we can start with a simple spell, try levitating that little rock” she pointed her hoof at a nearby rock.
“Ok, how do I do that, just point my finger at it and think levitate?” he asked sarcastically.
“Actually yes, it's the most simple spell there is, the first one most unicorns learn to use.” She replied.
John was now spending more time with Twilight, since he found out he had magic, though it's not very powerful. It took him about an hour to master levitation, and he found out he didn’t need to point his finger, he just had to focus on the object he wanted to levitate. Twilight was of course very curious, since he said humans don’t have real magic, yet he had magic in Equestria. Applejack didn’t mind him learning magic, with his help the apple orchard was quickly harvested, and work was done for the day. He almost sprinted towards the library to learn some new magic.
“I’m here Twilight!” John shouted.
“Hey john, already done with work?” Spike asked.
“Yep, it's going faster since I can now carry objects using magic.”
“Hi John” Twilight said as she came down the stairs.
“Hey Twilight, I’m ready to learn some more magic, what am I going to learn today?” John asked curiously.
“Today I’m going to teach you a summoning spell, it will be hard, but it should allow you to summon whatever object you want.” Twilight replied, and looked at John who was almost jumping with joy.
“So I can summon any object? Even one from my world?” he asked.
“Maybe, I’m not so sure about objects from your world, but another spell might get you objects from your world, but that’s for another time for now let’s get that summoning spell out of the way.” Twilight replied.
“Ok, what do I need to do? Obviously focus on what I want right?” he asked.
“Correct, focus on what you want, and where you want it, try with a small rock.”
“Here goes nothing.” He said as he focused on a small rock. A few seconds, and a bright light later, a small rock was now on the table.
“Very good, now try something a bit more difficult, like a bigger rock, or maybe a gem.”
“You got it, one gem coming up.” John said as he focused once again. This time however a very big gem appeared, because he forgot to think small, Spike didn’t seem to mind though as he started too droll.
“Not quite the size I was thinking of, but it's a gem.” Twilight said
“Can I eat that?” Spike asked, eying the big gem.
“I can’t see why not, it looks like a gem, and feels like one.” Twilight said “so try a bite, if it tastes like a gem, then you can eat it all.”
“Awesome!” spike shouted as he took a bite of the gem.
“Well, does it taste like a gem should?” John asked, curious if he summoned a real gem.
“It tastes very good, a little like a sapphire, but it looks like an emerald.” Spike said.
“Then I guess it's safe for you to eat it, just don’t get a tummy ache.” Twilight said as she snickered.
“Thank you.” Spike said, before starting to eat the gem.
“You are catching on fast John, why don’t you try something from your world, and let’s see if it works.” Twilight said, taking a seat in the couch.
“Ok, I’m going to try to summon some duct tape, never know when I might need it.” He said before focusing. A small flash appeared, and on the floor was a roll of duct tape. “Sweet, you don’t have this here do you?” he asked Twilight.
“I haven’t seen it before, we might have something similar.” Twilight replied.
“Awesome, should I try something else just to be sure?” John asked.
“Why not, I’m curious to see what your world has.” Twilight replied.
“Ok, I’m going to summon something used for war, but it's not going to be working, unless I summon it wrong.” He said, before thinking hard on a certain weapon he had seen in a lot of movies. a small flash appeared and he was now looking at the floor where the weapon was laying.
“What is that?” Twilight asked.
“It's a weapon from my world, it's very popular and is called an AK-47.” He said picking up the weapon, without a magazine in it. “It looks just as it does in my world, so it might work if I get some ammunition for it.” He said, examining the functions.
“Why did you summon that weapon?” Twilight asked curiously.
“I have always loved it, it's simple, easy to use and as far as the legends go, never jams.” He said, cocking it, and pulling the trigger, hearing a click. “It seems to be fully functional, so I can summon things from my world, good to know.” Twilight just looked at him in confusion.
“How does it work? And what does it use for ammunition?” she asked.
“It uses a small round that shoots out of the end with more than one thousand feet pr. Second and hits the target you are pointing at, it's very deadly, which is why I did not summon ammunition for it.” John said.
“So it's a little like our magic rifles, but instead of shooting magic, it shoots a small object.” She said, a little excited about the weapon.
“Yes, that’s how it works, but I might be able to convert it to use magic, or some other form of ammo, once I have gotten good enough at using magic.” John said, looking thoughtful.
“The magic rifles can only stun, this sounds like it kills, are you sure it can be made safe?” she asked.
“Like I said, I need to get better at magic, before I can make whatever I want, but it should be possible to make it only stun.” He said, putting the weapon down. “How do I make things un-summon?”
“That’s a simple removing spell, just focus on the object you don’t want, and focus on it being gone.” He did as instructed, there was a small flash and the weapon was gone.
“Now it's out of reach by anypony, and so far only you me and spike know of it in this world.” He said, turning to Twilight “And I would like to keep it that way, at least until I can make it safer.”
“You got it, I don’t want anypony hurt.” Twilight replied with a smile.
“Same here, it's a secret.” Spike said.
“Good, now then, any other spells I can learn today?” John asked, looking to Twilight.
“We can try an illusion spell, almost the same as the summon spell, except you think of it as being fake.” Twilight said, demonstrating with a pair of glasses. “These glasses are fake, only I can interact with them, but others can see them, now you try, glasses tend to be the easiest to do it with” a few seconds later, John was standing with a pair of glasses in his hand.
“Interesting, I can’t really feel them, but I can see them just fine.” He said, examining the glasses.
A new day started like any other, John got out of his bed in the guest room at Sweet Apple Acres. Applebloom had asked if he could use the guest room instead of the barn, since she thought it was unfair to let him be in the barn, while they all slept in beds inside the house. He put on some clothes, got to the toilet to take a leak, got down stairs, where Applebloom, Big Mac, Granny Smith and Applejack was sitting at the table eating breakfast. “Morning, sleep well?” Applejack asked.
“Yep, what’s for breakfast?” he asked as he was walking to the table.
“For you there’s some toast and eggs, for us there’s some good old hay.” She replied, as John sat down.
“It smells really good, and looks almost as great.” John commented as he was about to take the first bite. A few minutes later, they were done with breakfast.
“Are ya ready to do some work?” Applejack asked John.
“I’m as ready as I can get.” He said.
“Got a minute?” Big Mac asked John.
“Sure, what is it Big Mac?” John asked.
“I just need a hoof around the back, won't take long.” Big Mac Replied.
“Sure, I’ll come as soon as I’m done Applejack.” John said as he followed Big Mac. “So what do you need my help for?” he asked curiously.
“I just need a talk, male to male.” Big Mac said, as he turned to John.
“Is something wrong?” John asked.
“I dunno if you noticed, but mah sister has taken quite a liking to ya.”
“Ok, so Applejack likes me, how much would you say she likes me?” John asked, as he tried to think.
“A lot, I dunno how much, but the way she’s looking at ya tells me she wants to be more than friends.” He looked John straight in his eyes “and I want ya to know, I’m not against it, as long as she is happy.”
“Wow, hold up a minute, I’m not sure I’m ready to take that step, or if I will ever be ready to do it.” John said nervously.
“If ya don’t like her, just tell her.” Big Mac said, trying to calm down John a bit.
“It's not that I don’t like her, it's just that I’m not sure I can do it, she would be my first girlfriend, or marefriend.” He said, looking down to the ground. “I might not be ready for it, the last time I loved someone, she.” He paused “She turned me down, after spreading a lot of rumors about me, that was 7 years ago, since then I have had a few problems with girls, I haven’t forgiven her for spreading the rumors, since the rumors were about me and children, if you know what I mean.” He looked at Big Mac.
“I think I know, but I hope it's not what I think it is.” He said
“It is, because of that I had to move to another city, just to avoid getting my windows smashed every day.” John said, his eyes tearing up. “So it might take a while, but I will either turn her down, or accept her love, but not now.” He said, clearing the tears from his eyes.
“Alright, I won't bring it up again, seems like a very bad memory.” Big Mac said. “Let’s get back, Applejack might be suspicious if we stay here too long, well pretend it was about her birthday present.” He said, calming John down a bit. Shortly after John took some hay and put it in his face. “Why did you do that?” Big Mac asked.
“I got some hay in my eye, which was why I had tears in my eyes.” He said, smiling at Big Mac.
“Good point, let’s go.” They headed to the Orchard.
“What took y’all so long?” Applejack asked.
“We had to talk about a certain mare’s birthday present, and I lost my balance and got hay in my eye.” John said with a smile.
“Why did ya lose your balance? Can’t walk on two legs?” she teased.
“I can walk fine on two legs, I tripped over something.” John replied.
“Well, as long as ya can work it's fine.” She said, walking towards the first tree.
“I can work just as well as you can, I got my magic more under control now.” John said as he started to levitate the apples from 5 trees into a few baskets near the barn.
“I can see that, we’ll be done in no time.” Applejack said with a smile.
