this is the story of the Head admiral of the new lunar republic who fights simply to stop all that the solar ponies due to make the true ruler of equestria a hindrance on every day life
Where should I begin before all the destruction and mayhem began? Hmmmm…. I guess the beginning when I was a young colt in Clouds-dale watching a race with a pony id never know would have so much effect on this colt’s life even in the end. And that pony’s name was Rainbow dash the fastest Pegasus I know to this day (fade out to Clouds-dale) “Another race imagine that” I said with a heavy sigh. (Loud booming sound) I look up and a sonic rain boom with a rainbow being made behind that pony.
The pony I met after that had just earned herself a cutie mark. I and she became friends not the most easiest of ways but then one day (3 pony’s surrounding a yellow and multi colored mainly blue Pegasus) I continued on head-butting the first pony I saw after that I was pummeled hoof after hoof I blacked-out and a woke in a hospital bed where two ponies were asleep I folded the sheet and blanket signed out and continued home that night. The next morning on my way to flight school at the entrance stood two ponies I recognized one yellow one blue the next thing I know the blue one rushes over and tackles me saying “hey you what’s the big idea “she said. “You saved us and then didn’t even thank us when we carried you all the way to the hospital.” She said while looking angrily at me. I replied with a heavy sigh and grabbed my side in pain.
“If you don’t mind my ribs are shattered.” She got off watching as I walked by the yellow friend of hers I whispered to her friend “thank you.” She blushed and turned toward her friend and said “he’s okay” the blue one shook my hoof and said “your welcome and thank you I couldn’t have beaten up those guys and saved Flutershy my friend there.” Pointing at the yellow Pegasus she smiled shyly. I looked at them both emotionlessly sighing I said “your welcome and good day.” They both pondered for a moment as I walked toward the entrance building. The blue one came up to me and said “So what’s your name?” I sighed and said “What’s it matter?” she replied with “gosh don’t have a cow just tell me.” I then said “I’m mid-wing.” She replied “I am Rainbowdash and that’s well I guess you already know hehehehe.” I sighed and said “look I don’t want to be your friend I just don’t accept segregation of anypony.” Rainbowdash then said “What does that mean?” “It means nothing to ponies like you.” I said we then hear the bell ring and all say in unison “Oh Celestia! We are late.”
During 3rd period after the bell I head to flight instruction my best class and whoa and behold there was 2 ponies I didn’t want to see at all they were waving as the instructor looked me up and down and said “Can you fly looking like that?” I replied with anger in my voice “I can do more than that.” After I flew through the rings in no time flat as I landed I could hear the cheering and the whistle ordering silence the instructor asked me where I got my strength and I replied with sadness from my dirty secret “anger and hatred.” He looked at me quizzically and so did the students I then left as the rest of the students preformed and tried to come close to me only that annoying but adorable pony beat me the one called Rainbowdash.
The instructor put us in a 5th period advance class where once again I had to fly and prove my worth but while flying in the sky my wing became painful and I started to fall to the land below the clouds I saw so many ponies flying towards me to save me I smiled and whispered into the wind “good riddance.” But I felt the hooves of a pony touch mine and say mid wake up! Wake UP! And then I opened my eyes and was floating in the sky with dash my savior she smiled and put her muzzle against mine and said you ok kid I smiled and said thanks and passed out still conscious I heard the ponies land and say is he ok? The instructor then said your good Rainbowdash after that the doctor said I couldn’t fly for a while after that I went home and dash was sitting on a little cloud above me she swooshed down and said hey you ok? I looked at her and said I won’t fly again she was on the verge of tears and said I am so sorry if I was quicker if I was faster you’d I laughed rolling on my sides and saying ouch the look you got laughing she was angry and started to punch me and said that wasn’t funny mid I stood up and whispered in her ear I’ll be fine and thanks and like that I was gone before she could turn around blushing the whole way home after that me and her became the greatest of friends till Gilda came along and they were friends I left to join the royal guards and she went on to ponyvile. I had heard she was working with another friend of mine Twilight a unicorn with magical powers I guarded due to the fact Shining armor and Celestia told me to.
Good morning guard from behind me I heard I turned and saluted Twi and her brother then we all three laughed and we stood up and talked about our days then Twi said something unexpected me and spike are leaving me and her brother jaws opened wide and said what! She then said how her teacher isn’t aware of nightmare moons return and I have to do something that same day I sat in the barracks waiting for a letter during mail call a pony named Derpy came to me and said letter for you sir guard I gave her sum change and read the letter after that a higher up came in and said I need sum guards for the new princess I volunteered immediately and followed him put on my new darker armor and sword and met her the one who led so many to our new world and led her sister to the real truth of Equestria after 2 years of guarding her I was promoted to head of her highnesses royal guards. The letters from Twi quit coming after that and shining armor was married during the changeling fight me and the royal guards were guarding Luna who had escaped due to her sisters request we all left to the Everfree forest where we fought Manticores and many horrible creatures.
I was left on the ground with a wolf biting the edge of my sword the princess and what was left of her guard running to the castle Canterlot was saved but when I had slayed the wolf I was knocked out and awoke in a house it was a shack with earth ponies who were opposed to the empires will. Tears of joy came from my eyes as I hugged the family tightly after some reminiscing I left to Canterlot where I watched my own funeral and hid behind sum trees everyone I knew was there Twi the princess and the one person I never wanted to hurt Rainbowdash and many more the eulogy given by Luna tears in her eyes.
"Mid-wing my captain was under a wolfs gaze and was bleeding horribly yelled out to me to run and ordered his men to follow me there I stood being pushed back to the castle and so many had died may he find peace with his ancestors wherever he may be.” I turned around to a branch breaking there stood the daughter she looked like she was pushed through a chimney and told me they were gone with tears in her eyes and royal guards chasing her I pounced on the guards tearing a helmet from one and knocking them out with an arrow in my side me and my new sister left the forest on our way she collapsed I ran to ponyvile where the mayor stood.
She gawked at me and said what happened I said “please save my sister Please!” she took my sister to the medical ponies in the distance I left to make the guards follow my tracks in my mind I thought why this what’s happened who is gone then I saw a blaze in the forest my new home the cottage my new family on fire then it clicked why order her sister in to the forest why put so few guards on her why not keep her hidden somewhere safer then and only then I decided that there had to be a change in this land. Then I decided to start a resistance to this enemy called the solar empire I started the NLR that day and no one even knew.
Rainbowdash! She heard a pony yell it was twilight she looked at her with tears in her eyes dash! I flew down to her saying “What’s wrong?” Twi then said the most horrible thing I ever heard “Mid-wings gone!” my eyes swelled up I couldn’t hold back the tears and then said quickly “he’s gone? But but but I didn’t even get to see him again since graduation.” The next thing we did was go to rarity and asked her to make us to mourning gowns she looked at us and said what’s wrong? I then replied “my friend is gone and the princess is making a speech and ceremony for him rarity freaked out as usual I smacked her and said calm down! “We just need two simple gowns” Twi then said “Yes rarity please for us?” Rarity looked at us and said of course girls give me till tomorrow ok? We left and sat in the library sharing stories about mid-wings dorky and his serious sides.
Twi’s was of him when he was older and mine about how we met and how we became friends. We laughed and cried all night the following morning me and her left for the ceremony. Just as we got off the train Shining armor and Princess Candice greeted us in all black saying how it was good to see us. And when we got to the great hall in the castle they tried to point out the wonder bolts but I didn’t care and they frowned and even spit fire a grade A flyer said at the empty coffin he was a great flyer he will be missed.
As it was my turn I rubbed my muzzle against the coffin saying I’m here Mid I miss you tears fell from my muzzle as I was sitting next to twilight and her brother I heard the door open and then Luna came into the room with tears and a face as sad as mine armor told me how he had just been made her guard captain and after the eulogy I stood on the balcony just staring at the empty night sky Luna couldn’t bring out the stars she was so sad I cried thinking of us as we played in my memories of him then Luna came out and said to me “He missed you he always said if he was gone that he didn’t want anyone to cry and here we are all with tears in our eyes.” I looked at her and said “Is that really how he went out?” She looked at me and nodded her head yes I flew off into the night just to go home then I stood at his grave for hours just crying and thinking what I wish I could of said to him.
All of a sudden I noticed that twilight and her brother were drinking tea over at a gazebo I joined them they were sad and told me about him being a great guard and everything but then when I asked about his mission they had blank faces like they knew something but couldn’t tell me. I went to bed after pondering about I didn’t sleep though I just cried even the guards saw me and I thought how uncool of me to act like this Mid would want me to stand tall even if I was there he would just be his usual self the jerk we went home me and Twilight we then heard about how some stallion with an arrow in him brought a filly to the town after we had left the filly said her older brother came home from Cloudsdale where he lived and then how some ponies were setting fire to the house ponies I never saw and how he came to her rescue and carried her all the way here but when the mayor told her he left she cried and said what about his legs they were hurt and his wings one was hurt she shook her head and said “We have a lot of ponies out looking for him don’t worry we will find him.” I told her
“Well I’m glad you’re okay I’ll go look for him okay.” The filly said hurry he might be dead. I took off as fast as I could to the forest and looked for days but couldn’t find him I gave up and came home greeted by a lot of ponies I just flew up on a cloud to cry and be alone but then I heard pinkie pie yelling for me she said that they found the stallion and he was hurt bad I took off to the clearing and the stallion looked just like mid-wing but the scar on his eye and the cutie mark had been burned everypony took off home after he had been brought then I heard his sister crying she was in there by his side I went to sleep and slept all night and day into the next morning when flutershy found me and shook me and said he’s gone!
The stallions gone and left a note you need to read I read the note out loud to everypony and it was as follows “Thank you all for taking care of me but I have to go I have a cause to fight for a meaning to live.” I took off screaming after him he was gone and when I came home I talked with the filly about how she never met her brother before I told her everything I knew about someone who was like my own brother and she smiled and was happy the mayor asked me to take care of her and I decided I would for mid-wings sake and then I realized I didn’t know her name and she told me it was Clover.
I started recruiting anypony that would join my cause for equality the New Lunar Republic was spreading fast as a fire and wasn’t going to stop well then this is the beginning of the founding so let me tell you about those who helped found our admirals board first with my second in command ST. Louie named after his father he and I came across each other while I was practicing my swordsmanship in the forest he had told me how his family was exiled from Canterlot because of how the ponies looked at our family of earth ponies not being unicorns I told him that we should team up and change the world he scoffed at me and then I told him how I was serious and the story of the beginning of my adventure to where I was now he didn’t believe me but then realized that the princess didn’t even stop the unicorn from chasing us off.
“Why would Luna be any different?” I told him “Because I met Luna and know what she wants to do.” He looked at me and said you’re that guard pony every one respected when he died and I laughed and said I don’t know do I look like a ghost pony he snickered and said no then he said “If I join you what will happen to my family?” I pondered this for quite some while and replied “they won’t know a thing about it till it is done okay?” He replied with alright and we had then went off and decided to start an admirals board a democracy about the groups actions I agreed and he showed me to his house where we ate and came up with the great idea to wear armor that hides our cutie marks and helmets he was a blacksmith now and made armor that suited us well enough he made himself a shield and sword and we went on our way to recruit all night we made posters and wrote contracts we then left for a place I wanted to see with all my heart we marched to it all day and finally we arrived Louie looked at me and said “Is this it?”
I replied with “Yes my sister’s and friends are here but they can’t know I am alive ok?” he nodded and we went onward as we entered we were met with curiosity and well sum hostility when we reached town square someponies came out with a lot of weapons and a unicorn led a group of ponies another unicorn two Pegasai and an earth pony wearing a strange hat they looked at us and I realized who they were they were Twilight’s and Dashes friend’s Louie started to draw his sword I told him to stand down.
They approached us cautiously asking who we were and what we were doing in such a strange get-up. I spoke first “I am head admiral of the Lunar Army.” The ponies faces changed and then Twi said “What do you want with ponyvile?!” Louie stated why we were there and what for after our speech a few ponies sat down with us but not Dash or Twi they told us to leave when we were done and never to return and then a pony I hadn’t seen in months ran to me and asked me if I had seen her brother Dash instantly grabbed her up and said “Those are bad people clover don’t go near them.” I told the filly I had and both ponies stopped and asked where with tears welling up in me I told them a lie one to kill their hope “I met the one you seek he was bleeding to death in Everfree I tried to help but I was too late I buried him there and prayed that he would be with his ancestors in the stars with the almighty moon.” They left with tears I just couldn’t help it I yelled to them wait when I returned with flowers he was gone after thanking me.
We left with 6 other ponies and told the mayor that we thank you for your services and letting us stay here she looked angrily at me and said that’s the courteous kind our princess is. I replied with the same one who killed my family under my breath she then left dash smiled and waved at us the Louie asked were they the two? And I replied with yes and a heavy heart with it. The other ponies asked “where is our base?” I thought hard and decided “It’s in the mountains we went to the ruins of the old wizard unicorn kingdom immediately the other ponies asked who we were we told them our ranks and that when they had enough ponies we would have 7 more admirals to join us in council but first the base had to be fixed up and then we would have to figure out how to get supplies and make armor it would be tough but we would build our nation from here on we then circled each other and said “For Luna!”
It had been months since we made our new nation and we had secured supplies from both Cloudsdale and information from Canterlot we also had weapons made for everypony and then we decided it was time we made a new admiral we decided on the unicorn Crane she was as pink as the bird Crane and she had a lot of magical power and good with our money so she is in charge of our money and supplies. Louie didn’t like the idea of a unicorn but he had no arguments after hearing how her family had to struggle to survive they became friends very easily. I still worry about how Luna will take our cause but then again we are about equality even if we don’t have Luna on our side we can always keep her as our figurehead. During our second recruitment visit we had to pass through ponyvile we asked for permission and received no reply we gathered our gear and started once we got there however it looked like a warzone and we marched into town with weapons at the ready that’s when we met someone I never wanted to run into A rampaging spike he was as big as an original dragon I told the others to retreat and go around not to get caught by the wonder bolts when they arrived I was herding him away and they ruined the plan and almost got killed doing it poor spitfire didn’t even recognize her old student when the ponies of ponyvile came back with royal guards princess Celestia met us and next to her stood our princess we saluted our hooves to our chest to Luna and the other guards stood at the ready to attack us we drew our swords and shields to defend ourselves and then I saw him my old friend Shining armor I threw him off his game by saying. “What a shiny horny for a fancy unicorn.”
I and Louie and Crane stood there waiting when Crane lit her horn Luna came up to us and said “Why do you fight not serve our empire here?” I replied with something only she and I would know “The sun will never be as beautiful as the moon” She then turned to her sister who said “How do you know that saying?” I told her I heard it from a mutual friend and she said I do not condone your actions. I then said what saving the Wonder bolts trying to save ponyvile and stopping this baby dragon from killing everypony here. The guards stood down and then my own brother Armor said “Thank you” Spit-fire came to our group and said I haven’t seen flying like that since my friend died I told her thank you and she went to the other guard’s and then Applejack one of Dashes friends ran into our group yelling for Applebloom I asked if it was the red mane filly over there pointing to the statue in middle of town she ran to her in tears Crane was healing her with her magic and said we are only passing through we will leave now your majesty.
Princess Celestia bowed her head we all said “Her majesty Luna.” That was blushing and bowed her head and while we walked away Twi ran towards us to thank us for not killing her friend spike I told her you’re welcome and left to go to our next city Cloudsdale to recruit more Pegasai. We made a cloud stair case to get everypony to the academy where we recruited so many Ponies word had spread about us and we left along with 30 ponies we rode a large cloud to the castle and introduced everyone we admirals voted on another admiral his name was Nightgazer he was black as night and had a cutie mark of what looked to be a constellation of a pony.
Then we had our first ceremony of the admirals where we discussed our next action we thought of many things where our next recruitment will be and where we should assault first many things were discussed. But overall we had decided to argue about the leadership and how I was only one fit to lead and then I told them the only true leader is Luna and they looked at me with great surprise. I then gave my speech “We who work to bring this empire to the ground and bring up our republic where everypony votes for the betterment of our cities our homes our brothers and our sisters all that we hold dear and only Luna can bring that change only she can fight her sister whether she knows it or not.” As soon as the gaping mouths were gone I then said “Admirals dismissed!”
Today the NLR saved the wonder bolts and ponyvile but yet when the royal guards came along with the two sister princesses they only saluted Luna and marched onward to god knows where. Me and Clover and even Twilight still think of what would Mid wings doing where he might be if he’s hurt everything but then just as we were eating the sound of hooves and wings filled our ears from the forest and as we looked an army of ponies were marching into the forest another recruitment why do so many follow that man I thought and then from corner of my eye I saw it. The man who leads the resistance and Clover running to him he picked her up and said something then she came back and said “He hasn’t seen brother either. “I told her it’s ok Clover we will find him.” Then a pony from the ranks ran to ponyvile he was someone who use to live here he hugged some ponies and left along with 3 others who I am guessing decided to join them and even 2 fillies who were turned away by the admiral who patted their head.
As they had passed many ponies started arguing that the war was coming and that we needed to prepare for it of course they also stated how they just want to change they won’t harm anypony. And then a mysterious pony dressed in rags came to the center and said “Long live Luna!” as the ponies turned to the pony everypony started staring at the pony him and some other ponies in robes started to turn towards the area where the NLR had entered the forest and many ponies watched as they walked into it and left we started noticing that posters were being hung ones of Luna and others of Celestia and some of Head Admiral in his armor. Things were getting hectic in all of Equestria. And then Derpy came to us wearing a NLR hat.
“Letter to the friends of Rainbowdash and Twilight and her brother.” It read as follows “My friends you are hereby invited to the NLR one year anniversary in our grand hall.” Just then it said P.s. “Your friend will be there the one you look for the most along with your dearest princesses.” We began walking with our 5 friend’s in tail we walked all day and night and finally met the guards at the entrance. As we entered the hall the ponies all looked at us including the guards the 10 of us walked into the grand hall intercepted by four heavy guards covered in armor with lances at the ready. “Invite!?” we showed them the paper and were led to a table near the balcony may ponies danced and even some of the guards were drinking and talking with the royal guards and just as we got our food and drinks the admirals came down the long stairs but only two of them wore armor and we knew who they were.
The ponies danced except the head admiral and his second just then he announced something no one would ever guess. “Everypony sit down and listen close to our head admiral who has something to say!” Everypony sat down at their table and listened to the words leaving his mouth through the armor “My subordinates my friends my family.” Every pony was in a quiet hush saying family? Then “We have gathered here to give you something truly special our princess graces us with her absolute beauty and her being here it is time that I decided to reveal who I am and my second if he cares to join me?” Everypony was in an uproar some of the girls were blushing and looking at him with anticipation and then the second admiral grabbed his hooves and whispered something to him and then said “I will go first” he removed his helmet to reveal a pony I didn’t know but then.
“I am St. Louie the old heir to the family of Louie.” Then the head admiral was about to reveal his face when the ponies dressed in hoods busted in and approached the head admiral and told him what had happened in the griffon kingdom “Sir the response form them is that they would rather fly into a volcano then serve with us.” Before he knew it he said out loud prepare the ships we leave at once to respond about this insult then he told the guards by the princesses to take the ponies home then we were escorted to our homes where me and Clover were sad that we didn’t get to see our dearest pony who we were hoping to meet. Saddened that I didn’t get to reveal my identity I stood at the dock to head towards the griffon kingdom to gain an audience with the parliament they have set up to help our princess gain control of our country with the help of the griffon’s carrying supply’s to us we will never need to ask in ponyvile or Equestria again.
As we entered the fleet we all began to get ready for sail I sent two ships ahead to get inside the city and tell me what the defenses are like. As we approached another ship crossed our path it was one of those darn lunar guards ships I had completely forgotten the Princesses were friends my plan still was in action though even if she was there the ship boarded us and asked what we were doing we simply explained that we were here for supplies nothing more the guards then discussed it as the one pony came aboard it was princess Luna everyone on board saluted her the guards looked at us with suspicion and then Luna asked to speak with me I approached her and went to captains quarters where she sat down and looked at me with curiosity asking “Who are you?” I replied with I can tell you but once I do id only have two options either go to war with Celestia as fast as possible or kill you of course the second I would rather be executed and dishonored before that your highness. But I guess I should reveal it but you must keep this the most heavily guarded secret you carry.”
She nodded and I took off my helmet and she sat there jaw widened she looked upon me like a ghost from her past it has been almost a whole year since anyone but Louie learned my identity and she hugged me and said “please come home with me Mid we can tell Celestia it was just to increase our military might to keep the dragons at bay or anything.” I replied while putting my helmet on “it’s not that simple your highness.” She said “it never is with you.” I’ll be waiting for you in the city I will discuss with the princess after this okay?” I nodded and said “Remember our secret?” she nodded and left I saw a tear fall before the door shut and then I felt a part of me feel like it had been cast off as the princess was taken to the city I sent out the word to all ships to follow and follow me to the royal palace where the royal family will meet. The princesses met us at the gate with an army of guards in silver armor I bowed my head and saluted my princess who mumbled something I couldn’t make out but we were invited in my men sat at the gate as I conducted business with his majesty who only had this to say “How dare you invade our homes you impudent pony we will crush you!”
I then removed my helmet drew my sword and threw it to the king and said “if I displease you then attack or would you rather not get your hands dirty with a hero’s blood.” He then recognized me as the pony guard who saved his precious angel from the tower she fell from playing with another guard who had no wings when he saw this face he immediately agreed to help me with my cause I then took my leave with my 100’s of pony’s an army unmatched and returned to our ships where we left filled with supplies and a written agreement to receive them on a regular time every month till we can gather our own food from the farmlands and mines.
We returned home when we saw smoke I ordered the Pegasus to push the sails forward as hard as possible we returned to see a dragon attacking our castle we out flanked him throwing spear after spear pushing clouds into him to hide our forces swords and all attacking him we had finally slain the beast only a few had been buried the rest were treating for in our grand hall when ponyvile saw the smoke a lot of family’s gathered at the gates to see who had been hurt they offered us aid in our time of need when we had helped them but I kept them outside the main building in case of sabotage we had an emergency meeting of admirals to discuss the incident we had decided that we needed to fortify our position and build evacuation points throughout the castle and small village we had just built we then discussed the idea of training fillies I was against the idea but was out voted 3 to 1 even Louie had betrayed me in my mind I thought maybe we needed to go all out and find the princess but I’d be out voted again that’s when I decided to bring in ponies only I trusted as guards for me I feared politics would become our way poison and assassination are inevitable in any society I guess at least for the royal breed I then decided it was time I see my sister and the pony I always had a place in my heart for Rainbowdash.
As I had taken less than 4 steps out the gate the other admirals ran towards me asking where I was going I told them to speak with a friend in the royal palace they looked at me with great suspicion then me and my four trusted guards came with me we walked into ponyvile where the weather had become confusing apparently Twilight had to fix what happened to her friends I stood at the ready to help I sat in the gazebo in center of town where a strange enemy I would find to be my greatest ally came to me and said the most confusing thing ever “my name is applejack you are invited to the coronation of her new princess twilight.” I couldn’t stop laughing.
Then she said “I know it is at the palace and you don’t like them there but she invited you so don’t disappoint her.” She said with a scowl on her muzzle. I told her that I would leave immediately me and my guards entered Canterlot with all eyes on us when I got to the castle the guards drew their lances and told me to turn around I told them I was invited they laughed and my guards drew their swords I told them to be calm then a voice behind me told the guards to move a side they are welcome here it was that applejack pony who told them and they stood aside we followed her in and a pony I considered my brother drew his sword with his magic and threw it at me he yelled “You fiend how dare you enter the palace at such a time.” Then his sword was at my throat when my unicorn knight put a sword against his and told him to stand down we had been invited she was a dear friend who saved me from that dragon.
The stallion I called friend put his sword away as his wife came to the balcony and put him beside her then princess Luna came to the entrance and told me to come in we went to her chamber where we shooed both our guards away except for my friend and captain of my own guard Summer with her helmet off she saw me and the princess hug and she looked at us suspiciously as I removed my helmet she turned around I told her it was ok to look she saw me the dead night guard captain.
Who risked his life for Luna she then told me she was one of the best guards ever what happened I told her “It is very tough for me to talk about and very long of a story but I will tell you one day you are the only other pony besides my second who knows my identity please do keep it secret.” She nodded and let me and the princess talk we discussed the incident with the king of griffons where I discussed the incident months before Luna had been freed from her imprisonment on the moon when I was just a guard and a hero to the king that’s when a knock at the door came I quickly put my helmet on when an alicorn Twilight appeared with a angered look on her face yelling “You what are you doing here?”
Quizzically I looked at her and said you invited me she looked at me puzzled I did no such thing I showed her the note and she was as confused as me and Luna told her it was her who invited him after that Twi said “I see well keep your dog on a short leash.” I growled at her she took off to the ceremony as did I and my guards at the reception I hear the whispers about me from everypony there including those who I thought to be my friend but since I hid my identity when a rock was thrown at me my guards became angered I did not care I told them to leave it be its just their way they sat still with shields drawn when a young filly came towards us she said are you guys really an enemy of all of Equestria then I smiled looked at her and said “No I’m an enemy to all ponies who think it’s ok to punish those less fortunate.” She smiled and said “Good but why are pony’s like that?” I looked at her and said “Its cause all ponies have their own opinions and ideas some are just very wrong to us and others are completely good.”
The filly left when her mother called and then princesses came to my table I ordered the guards to leave and they went and got some drinks. The 4 princesses sat in front of me asking me one question “Are you the leader of your new nation?” I pondered this and said “We have no leader other than her majesty we only give orders till she will recognize us and lead us.” The Alicorn’s looked at one another and asked why Luna? I smiled and said Why not then I stood up the guards rushed to my side with hooves on their weapons I told them I am just getting ready to leave they calmed down and walked with me out the castle when suddenly somepony shot an arrow at me my guards instantly took to arms and drew their swords and shields I told them it’s fine we are leaving every guard looked at me with surprise as I let the pony go he tried to draw another arrow I threw a knife at his bow and said “Only cowards hide in shadow’s” He then rushed at me with the knife I had my guard’s push him to the side and knock him out the other ponies rushed to his side took his pulse and whispered about his idea and other ponies from NLR came down from the sky in a frantic voice the admirals looked at me and yelled “What are you doing here do you have any idea how freaked out we were?” I then got on board the cloud and we took off to the home base I got off my ass and flew outside with the guards and they were embarrassed of the idea they needed help to control the cloud but I told them I just needed to stretch my wings.
As the new princess Twilight moved to the castle we ponies were sad till pinkiepie threw a party and we saw the sun sink me and clover went to sleep. The following morning I awoke to applejack knocking on my door apparently a pony looking for clover came into the town and we rushed to see who it was when I got there I thought it would be him but it wasn’t it was some unicorn in NLR armor she had apparently come to take her to her brother we surrounded her she smiled and said the one thing only he would know “Good riddance.” I smiled and said she is sleeping everypony looked at me with a gaping jaw we walked and talked she said he wanted her to be safe and out of his enemy’s reach and that the admirals were discussing about schools and that he wanted her to be with the first class.
I had to think about it and asked her to send him instead she told me that if he came that others would know who she was and that it was imperative she not be discovered then I told her it was only way I would let her go. Of course she left and said she would be back at midnight with him. As clover left to say goodbye to her friends and the cutie mark crusaders all gathered together for a little party but then my friend Gilda came to me telling me about how the Griffon kingdom had joined with the NLR and we talked about the past when all of a sudden the sun had set and it was time as a large group of ponies gathered applejack pikiepie and flutershy were with me and rarity was with her sister who was crying when he stepped out of the forest in his usual armor it was him the head admiral Clover was backing away when he and his guards had stepped out of the Everfree forest they were bruised and battered some were bleeding but no pony rushed to help them but they waved to her the pony I considered part of my family she ran to me and I hugged her and yelled “Well where is he?”
they looked at each other and the head admiral told her to say “He is here but he cannot come out he is hurt.” Me and clover ran to the forest looking but the ponies looked at us and the head admiral had put his hoof to his muzzle and shook his head saying “jeez you two are exactly the same.” When he heard other ponies coming he picked up clover and gave her to one of his guards and told them to run he looked at me straight in the eyes and told me to tell the other ponies to run when 4 ponies draped in red appeared faces hidden by hoods with swords drawn he attacked them I yelled for my friends to stay back when one of the red ponies attacked the admiral and his guards behind our people they jumped out with weapons at the ready the admiral fighting two of them in the forest the sound of metal hitting metal when it stopped the guards were furious they stepped forward shields and lances at the ready the red ponies were shaking with fear when a rock hit one of the red ponies from behind he stood there with his armor in pieces and his sword destroyed and all but his helmet shattered he took on of the sword and fought the other ponies back to the forest when he turned toward us an arrow had been shot and was sent through his body every pony tried to get to him when the guards pushed them back they put their muzzles to his side and yelled “medic, Doctor anyone!?”
when the doctor came to the front of the pack she told them to carry him to her house when they got there two guards stood at the door scaring anypony from going near there but we all gathered at the front they wouldn’t even let the mayor in they were like wolves guarding a new pup and the other two sat at his side at certain times they switched places till a griffon came covered in armor he stood at the door guarding it me and Gilda stood there wanting to go inside but the guard wouldn’t allow it. It was an order from his highness when Twi and her brother appeared things got awkward. They ordered the griffon to move but he refused and Twi told him it was a royal order but still would not move that’s when twilight guards drew their swords then the four guards came out with their lances drawn ready to die for him then Luna came and said something to the unicorn who told the griffon it was ok after the 4 saluted and bowed to her.
The guards retreated inside but you could feel the anger from the house and the royal guards with Twi and her brother sat outside waiting when the unicorn pony came outside telling the princess her brother the griffon and all of us to enter including clover. When we entered the stallion sat there in the bed telling us to shut the doors and the curtain after that he told the griffon one thing “Hover” He smiled and left taking off by the sound of the wings flapping outside but I didn’t get it that’s when Luna appeared with her two guards then Twi demanded he take his helmet off but before she could finish the sentence he coughed up some blood and said what sounded like “I plan to your royal bossy.” We all sat gazing at the moment anypony would kill to see when his helmet came off it revealed him my dearest friend and the only pony I could love.
Everypony gasped at what they saw and Shining armor ran to his side apologizing for what he had apparently done to him in Canterlot and me and Twi were in tears and hugging his legs Clover was hugging him but the one pony that Twi me and every pony stared at was her royal highness Luna who knew it already we yelled “Why didn’t you tell us?” he interrupted us by saying it was very tightly kept secret even some of his own guard were open jawed about who he was we saw it but after some questions me and applejack sat outside she sat with me as I waited to talk to him again she’s a very good friend and I know what she was thinking but I don’t think she knew how to ask. I told her out loud “I’m leaving with him this time.” She looked sad but was smiling and hugged me other ponies looked at me with questionable looks but I didn’t care and even pinkiepie didn’t know what to say she just hugged me.
As me and him got ready to leave I followed him we took many breaks he refused to let anyone but him carry his sister even me we didn’t talk but took many breaks to help with his injuries it took us two whole days to get to the castle where he introduced us to the admirals and said something surprising she is my new guard captain I was open jawed and the unicorn was furious but he then said in a vigorous voice “And my previous head will be the admiral of our internal security I hereby and hence forth as head admiral of the New Lunar Republic promote thee to admiral seat to enter all our meetings and sit with a voice of authority the other admirals were angered but Louie didn’t mind he nodded and greeted her with respect I had to glare at the others to make them greet her.
The new admiral then had her own four guards with her twin brother sitting with her at the meeting the twin knights of Canterlot Hansel and Gretel very big names to anypony who is at the royal melee’s. They were unstoppable in both archery and swordsmanship except by maybe some of the real battle veteran guards who thought it was childish to participate in such a celebration. We were finally ten thousand ponies strong and ready to set up a new fortified base we voted it was decided on Saddle Arabia where we would find new ponies to recruit and train and learn new skills. I sent dash to investigate of course I wasn’t about to just leave her out there but I would join her when I had done the opening ceremony to the military education center for young ponies to train to aid our republic both in military and civilian matters.
With the classes they will take separated by their race my own earth pony sister clover is taking the lead in a project already it makes me proud but no one knows about her being head admirals sister other than Luna, Twi, Dash, and their 8 friends. So I’m not sure who else they have told but I assume no one they seem trustworthy occasionally that farmer pony seems to visit her they seem to be good friends but I have not gotten the chance to even just sit down and talk to her and when we are alone it seems awkward and we don’t talk unless it’s actually about protection detail’s as we walk through Saddle Arabia recruiting for our cause assassins and mercenary’s join us and try to bring shame onto our name we weeded them out quickly. Also dash loved making those damned sand ponies try and race her no matter what she won. Many of the original guards are mad she got such a big bump but I keep my eyes peeled for danger even if I can’t protect her and hold her like I want I still would jump in front of an execution squad for her.
My first day of my new school with my picture of me and the friends I left behind in ponyvile I’m so close to the entrance I can see everypony standing in line waiting to give their papers to the academy pony guards there is also griffon and even a few zebras I can’t wait to try and make so many new friends but dash and brother are gone I see the way they look at each other and I hope they have a family together cause I love them both. As I entered the gate and saw 3 guard’s one taking papers and two standing at the ready all three were earth ponies just like me. I was happy my first friend Starcloud he was a Pegasus from Canterlot where his dad was a mason who built walls for the royal castle and the royalty who apparently always acted like jerks to him and his dad but he’s like a scorpion he looks mean but I can tell he’s just scared.
My first period class my instructor for drill was Captain jewel who was one of my brothers guards till he decided to teach us as a request from the head admiral but I’m not supposed to tell anyone that he is my brother. But I didn’t get to see my friend till 5th period when we ate lunch together with his griffon friend Gertrude who was kind of shy but opened up to him and me it was wonderful to see my new friends smile and laugh till somepony named herald who had a bugle cutie mark came over and took our table cause he was one of the children of the admirals I hated it but I knew better than to cause a ruckus but my friends had other plans and the guards came over and broke us up and we were taken to the admirals office where the only other pony who knew about me was sitting I was open jawed and she smiled at me then got serious yelling at us and telling me to stay back where we talked “you know your brother would be ashamed of what you did but also very proud.” She said with a somehow mean tone but I then smirked and said “I am grateful you’re here but I don’t even really know my brother anymore.”
She frowned and said “I am sorry you have to learn how hard life is at your age no pony has ever come close to the suffering you and him have endured but I will always be here to talk to you my young filly friend.” The door shut behind me as I left for my 11th period where I could return home afterwards but it was a class I wasn’t prepared for or even sure what to do (fade in chalkboard with the words swordsmanship 101) the words instructor Starblossom one of the fiercest and most veterans soldiers who followed my brother and Louie from Ponyvile “The sword will only follow the will of the wielder not the force of the swing.” The lesson still didn’t help me I couldn’t even pick up the real sword only the Everfree wood sword it was heavier than the jungle wood that most ponies who were not earth ponies had to use but even then at my age Star said I needed to work out more but I had the class with both my new friends and when brother comes home I can’t wait to introduce him cause he said he would be here for family day where all the ponies bring in a family member and I can’t wait.
Brother couldn’t come home but dash did and she said she would be my family which was great because it seems I knew her better than my own family but I was happy. When we got to school all the guards saluted her and when I entered the homeroom the bell rang and dash and me were sitting next to each other when herald walked in he and his dad the admiral sat next to me dash saluted the admiral and so did I he sat down rubbed my head and said I would be just as good as her and when the parents stated talking about their jobs dash told the whole class how she was protecting the head admiral everypony even the adults were in awe but the admiral stood up and said that she was the greatest royal guard captain he ever saw with most sincerity in his voice he was a weird Pegasus with a unicorn child but he was cool he talked about how he and brother would have coffee and do many things together when he was finished and the bell was about to ring my brother walked in I ran to his side he wasn’t wearing a helmet or any armor but herald said loudly
“Your brother ha he’s not even in the military” but then the emblem on his robe showed pass the door and everypony knew what it was he was a inquirer one of the meanest and most hardest ponies jobs but even admirals resected them they were our religious guards and only took orders from her highness or Head admiral and anyone below those titles bowed to them I was happy he was here and he hugged me and smiled and told all the ponies how he was the third pony who joined our society and founded the NLR he even said besides Louie he was the only other pony who knew the identity of well himself it almost made me giggle and every pony wanted to talk to him but another hooded person appeared it was his holiness Harkin the high overseer of the order and my brother bowed to him and talked to him before leaving after hugging me and dash goodbye at lunch me and dash had hay fries.
I introduced her to my friends they asked where my brother went and I said I didn’t know but he must be doing something important but as the word left my mouth a hoof touched my back it was my brother I spun around and hugged him and both my friends bowed but he said “That’s very unnecessary any friend of my sister is a friend of mine.” They jumped up and introduced their fathers but then Starcloud’s dad asked where our family was the three of us went from laughing to sad in a matter of seconds when my brother said “They were burned alive in Everfree forest and then almost everypony in earshot turned and silence was all over and then dash and my brother and me turned to leave when the admiral came to my side and told me that the Head admirals family was the same and that he wished he could of found the red hooded culprits when he said that my brothers eyes were lit a blazed but he said something that only the admirals knew “Good riddance.” When he whispered that I was shocked and cried to dash when we got home after school.
She told me it was like a password to admirals but I knew it was a lie. I woke up in the middle of night in the castle my brother was crying but dash was holding him and all I saw were their muzzles meet and they got up and went somewhere I couldn’t see one of the guards asked what I was doing I told him I was just checking on my brother he blinked and said come on little one let’s get you off to bed. The following morning when I left for school my usual secret route that same guard from last night ran into me and asked “why are you hiding Clover?” I told him the whole story and how it was a secret I lived in the castle and then he led me the whole way to school I made a new friend and he was named Tiger cause he was a zebra from saddle Arabia and he once fought a young tiger when he was going through his warrior ceremony and earned his name for his ferocity and courage. He led me to school every morning my friends met him and even talked with him.
Dash and Tiger met one day when my brother was leaving for some sort of meeting with the princesses in Canterlot and a peace summit with the dragons near the old Luna castle he couldn’t hug me cause he was the head admiral then but Dash hugged me and told me that she and him had a surprise when they come back I couldn’t wait. Tiger was my appointed body guard to school every day till they came back he was happy about it always smiling and laughing with me in the castle. But one day while the peace summit was in action Tiger got sick and I didn’t have a guard one morning and a man wearing gold armor like that of princess celestia’s guards ran into me with a funny look he apologized and asked if there was anypony who could carry a message to Head admiral and I pointed him towards the Barracks and told him to ask for Tiger and he nodded and trotted on to the barracks and then flew off to I don’t know where but Tiger ran out of the barracks to the castle and did not stop when he got there Louie in his armor took the letter from him and told him to leave and he was shocked and ran into the castle with an alarmed look on his face.
Herald ran into the class room saying that Dash and Brother had been kidnaped I immediately stood up and ran out the school my friends behind me but they couldn’t follow me into the castle where I lived and I met with Tiger he told me the whole story. When I had entered the castle the admirals surrounded me but Louie yelled at them for trying to scare me but Heralds father sat there watching me I think his name was Night something but I didn’t care I just wanted brother home Louie took me to my room where I waited and it was voted that they would send their new recruits from Arabia to save him with their powers to hide and be invisible they would be useful for a stealth operation till my brother and or Dash came home I wasn’t allowed to leave except for school the admirals thought I would be a security risk but the enemy leaders already know who I am and who brother is why hide it then a knock at my door came it was my friends Louie had let them come play with me we had fun spending the night together I even slept next to them they could tell Dash being gone I was sad so they stayed.
Held prisoner by barbaric dragons them and their stupid warrior ways I kept fighting to keep my guards alive they pitted me against dragon’s who had tried to earn their rite to kill but I slaughtered any enemy they put me up against but I received my lashes when the fight was done Dash kept close to me when I wasn’t fighting and the other guards were being held in another cage the stupid lizards kept choosing me to fight thank the gods otherwise they would look weak I guess but thankfully our stealth teams came when it was feeding time the dragons were distracted and they slaughtered our guards to free us they used their weird magic that I had never even seen a unicorn do.
They freed us and took us to a ship on the coast where we were saved the dragons would be angered they lost their best challenge but they won’t live long enough to find out why I’m the best but they will fear me for all eternity when I had returned home the admirals gathered around me giving my guards trouble for not taking responsibility but I told them “Shut it they are alive cause of what I went through I will not lose a man to a impudent jewel sucking lizard.” Prepare the ships were destroying the nest and their little party before weeks end.
Before I knew it we had entered the southern coast where the mountains would hide our dark sails and ships we had started to climb the mountains our Pegasai were walking with us or hover real low when we appeared the peak we surrounded the young tribe of dragons me and 50 my best walked down the peak to speak with the high elder dragon he was scarred from many a battle and we spoke insults to each other when his wings raised every pony and griffon drew an arrow or prepared a spear to throw he put his talons down and I told him.
“I slaughtered 12 of your finest warrior tribesmen what could the leftovers do to a thousand more trained just like me.” He angrily gazed at me and said “Celestia let us hunt in peace in these mountains and we didn’t eat her servants but I yelled back “don’t you dare lie to anypony here I saw the bones of many dead ponies griffons and many other creatures if I wanted to I could destroy your tribe with a whistle from me and I would sleep like a foal the next night but don’t you dare say you never harmed anypony.” He replied with they were trespassers and foolish hunters.” “Then why is there a foals and younglings bone as well. I’m no doctor but I know the difference.” With my anger about to burst I ordered the slaughter of the dragons but before I could whistle the stupid Twilight guards appeared with her dragon friend spike my anger would not subside and she saw that she galloped the whole way but my own guards stopped her I told her.
“Do not stay here princess this tribe will burn for the suffering they brought upon me my kin and those who no longer can receive the kindness your princess promised them.”
She sat there a moment and said “You are not a monster would you kill them to satisfy what happened to you?” I yelled at her to look at these bones when I drew my sword her unicorn guards lit their horns ready to defend her but I planted it in the ground and put one of my guard’s helmets on it and gave my prayer to every poor soul whose heart’s was gone from such an evil place. As I sat there tears leaving the bottom of my helmet I turned around and looked back at the dragons I slammed my hoof and arrows, spears and guards assaulted the vermin spike and Twi screamed for us to stop. But I stood there watching them bleed the elder dragon laid there with his dying breath and I looked him in his eyes and said “I will take up your hatred and destroy it.” A young dragon with fire breath flew towards me I grabbed its nose and slid my dagger across its belly and let its insides pour out
