Nothing bad, dangerous or scary was happening, no, Ponyville was completely peaceful. And totally boring. Daring Do groaned, falling backwards on the soft grass. She had learnt from Rainbow Dash that clouds were very good for napping, advice she had soon taken to heart, but now she couldn't rest on them and had to use the hard ground instead. Sure, a vacation from the dangerous jungle had seemed a good idea at first, but now she sorely missed her action-packed daily life. What she wanted more than anything was to take off, flying as quickly as she possibly could back to her home. And she would, too, if it wasn't for one thing... Rainbow Dash. Once she had ditched her fan girl adoration, Rainbow Dash had proved to be a great companion for Daring Do. She was brave, loyal, and by Celestia's mane was she fast! The competitive side of her wanted to challenge that, to be better, but she knew she couldn't really. Daring was a quick flyer, sure- she kind of had to be to escape from things like erupting volcanoes- but it was Rainbow Dash's special talent. Apparently she'd done a legendary Sonic Rainboom too, which wasn't actually that hard to believe. In short, Rainbow was, as she would put it, awesome. But while she liked hanging around with her awesome best friend and getting into competitions, she knew what she needed was the jungle, where every day was a new adventure. And yet, Daring Do couldn't just leave Rainbow Dash, and she couldn't try to make her come with her either. She had her own life and friends and wouldn't drop it all for her. The very least she could do, Daring decided, would be to say goodbye in person. Daring Do got to her hooves, already feeling better with a plan of action in her mind. She had no idea where she was, but her house seemed a good a place to start as any. Unfurling her wings, she took to the sky and headed off. Her flight was uninterrupted and soon enough she was landing on the soft landing, rainbow falling into a pond to her right. She chuckled slightly as she remembered splashing around in their with her friend in there, both coming out soaking in color and looking more alike than ever. Daring pushed the door and it swung open smoothly, revealing the inside of the cloud house, naturally dim-light from the slit windows carved in the walls. "Dash?" She called. There was no reply. Hesitantly, the mare trotted inside. If she's not here, I could always leave her a note, she dismissed the idea immediately- it needed to be more personal than that. I'll just have to wait for her to return. Although the idea of waiting made her cringe, she sat on a plump cloud sofa. The silence in the room was deafening, thick all around her. Daring Do soon grew tired of this plan. Well, surely she won't mind taking just a little look around, will she? She flew up an ornate flight of stairs, past many little side doors, continuing her journey. For a mare who cared little for anything fancy, Rainbow Dash sure had a fancy house. Finally, Daring reached the top of the house, the smallest part of it by far. It seemed to be Dash's bedroom, with a blue bed surrounded by posters of those Wonderbolts she loved and a stack of of dog-eared Daring Do books, obviously read again and again. She grinned at the last part. Then, she noticed something else; a stack of loose papers on the top of the pile. Curiosity getting the better of her, she went over to have a look. On the first page was a hoof-drawn picture of Daring Do and Rainbow Dash alongside her, both dressed in her traditional pith helmet and vest. At the top of the page, written in big, bright letters it said; "Daring Do and Rainbow Dash." She held what seemed to be a story between her hooves. Although she was very tempted to read it, she knew Dash would be angry if she found out. Biting her lip, she glanced around. It didn't like Rainbow Dash would be home for a while, anyway. One little look wouldn't hurt... she flipped the page and began to read. Rainbow Dash flew above the humid jungle, her eyes scanning the thick undergrowth for Daring D a certain pony. It was a very hot day and she was suffering, sweating. At least the air was very cold so she wouldn't be so hot for a while. The pegasus flew down into the trees (not crashing into any off them) and began to look around for that certain pony. Finally, she found her. She was a sexy yellow pegasus with a compass cutie mark and magenta eyes called Daring Do. "Wait, what?" she was now lying on her back on Dash's comfortable bed, frowning at the scribbled words before her. "Sexy?" After a while she shrugged and continued reading. She was bent over and digging at the ground making mud go everywhere. As the yellow arceologist archoloist searcher dug, the other pegasus found herself admiring her strong legs. Daring Do's cheeks warmed as she read it. What the hay, Dash? Why would you write this? Trying very hard now not to dwell on it, she moved on. Daring Do straightened up. She was holding a golden thing covered covered in mud. "Rainbow Dash!!" she gasped when she saw her. "I didnt see you there." "I'm sorry if I scared you." the pegasus was very respectful of her and she didnt want to make her angry. "It's okay look what I found." she showed the golden object to her which turned out to be a little cat statue. "This is the cat statue, it's really rare and I have been looking for it ages." "Wow thats really great!" Rainbow Dash was excited and she flew a little bit. Daring Do laughed. "you know, your really cute Rainbow Dash, come here." Rainbow Dash flew to the mare, who gave her a big kiss on the lips. "Woah!" Daring Do held the story away from her like it had bit her. Shakily, she put it back where she had found it and sat on the bed, contemplating what she had just read. Dash wrote a story about us, together, a strange tingling feeling spread through her. Does this mean she has a crush on me? A scene of an extremely-cute, blushing Rainbow Dash confessing feelings to her rose to Daring's mind. She giggled, her own face flushing with warmth. If she really did have feelings for her, she would definitely be able to return them. She held her hoof to her chin, thinking of what she could do with the new information. I'm still leaving for home, a pang of regret and sadness shot through her, but still a soft smile graced her face. At least I'll leaves in style. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rainbow Dash tugged the last pale grey cloud into place, glancing around at the down beneath with a grey. The slightly rain-filled clouds wouldn't yet release their load, so she wouldn't have to return later to set up the rain. Certain she wasn't about to be called on for even more weather duties, she turned and swiftly flew through the air, setting a course for her beloved cloud home. Maybe after she'd rested and grabbed a bite to eat, she and Daring Do could hang out? Rainbow gave a filly-like squeal, doing a loop in the air. Sure, she had ditched most of her fan-love, that didn't mean she wasn't still slightly in awe that she hanging out with one of her heroes, and recently crush. Rainbow Dash swung open the door of her house, kicking it shut with a hind leg and flying to the kitchen. After wolfing down a daisy sandwich, she headed in the direction of her bedroom- she hadn't written much in her own Daring Do and Rainbow Dash story. She trotted in through the door, only to recoil in surprise. "D-daring, what are you doing here?" She squeaked, her voice reaching very high octaves. "Hey Dash," Daring Do purred silkily, dropping from the bed and sauntering slowly over. "What took so long? I was waiting for you." Her eyes flickered to her story, to to her seductive friend, and finally settling on those magenta eyes identical to her own, short eyelashes fluttering. Before she could form any coherent words, Daring pressed her warm lips onto Rainbow's. If possible, her eyes widened even further, her cheeks turning a burning red. Finally, she let her eyelids slid closed and melt into the kiss before she pulled away. "What... what is this all of a sudden." Rainbow Dash said, slightly out of breath. Daring Do sighed. "It's... I've got to leave, I don't belong here, y'know?" yet again, she wasn't given a chance to answer. "But I really like you, so I figured, before I left, we could spend some quality time together, hm?" As she allowed the words to process, a small smile slipped onto her face. "So you want to spend your last night with me?" She smiled. "Yeah, of course I do." She suddenly gave a large grin. "Well then, you're going to have the best night of your life." Rainbow Dash pulled Daring Do into another kiss, hugging her tightly. That morning she would leave, but for now they had all the time in the world.
