Chapter 1
Rainbow went to Rarity's to model for her today. She owed her a favor for the mess she caused crash landing in the middle of her busiest work day, ruining her dress she had been working on for days. In all honesty Rarity was making her uncomfortable with her staring. Even though Dash usually enjoyed attention the looks from Rarity were just making her feel awkward. After she had finished modeling for Rarity.
Rarity asked "Would you like to accompany me on a picnic next Monday?"
"Sure." Rainbow said but quickly added "No modeling ok Rarity."
"Yes, I would presume there would be no modeling during a picnic." Rarity said.
"Well I gotta go see you Monday." Rainbow said walking out of the Carousel Boutique.
"Oh, I almost forgot It will be at Sunset. See you then darling."
Rainbow disregarding the fact she called her "darling" considering she called many ponies darling went to Sweet Apple Acres. She and Applejack were going to have a horseshoe competition to settle their whole Iron Pony debacle which Rainbow was still not over with. When arriving at the Sweet Apple Acres she was relieved to not be ogled by a pony even though it was uncomfortable and awkward she kinda liked it. Rainbow dash shook her head getting the thought out of her mind.
"Howdy there Rainbow." Said an excited Applejack.
"Hey A.J." Rainbow waved "Ready to lose!" The cyan mare joked.
"No way you're gonna beat me Dash!" Retorted the blond mare.
The game began with Applejack winning, but Rainbow hot on her tail. It was the last throw of their last game. It was tied three to three. The rainbow maned mare lost last round by being surprised as Applejack shook her flank in a suggestive manner distracting her on her last throw. Rainbow looked back at Applejack who quickly averted her eye to something.
Though this didn't fool Rainbow who asked. "Something interesting A.J?"
Blushing and looking away Applejack said "Nope." While her eyes looked from side to side.
Rainbow knew this to be her tell. After their game, which was abruptly ended by A.J being busted. The earth pony asked Rainbow "Would ya like to come next week same time?" Still blushing slightly.
Without thinking about her plans with Rarity she said "Sure. I'll see you then I have to go train to join the Wonderbolts."
Applejack asked "Do ya need anyponies help?"
"No its ok Fluttershy promised to help me, but thanks anyway." Said the cyan mare.
"See ya later RD." Said the now staring farm pony.
"Bye A.J" Rainbow said flying away.
Well, that was weird. I wonder what's up with A.J and Rarity. Thought the fast flying pegasus. She saw Fluttershy sitting in wonder on the hill they said to meet.
"Sorry i'm late." Said the cyan pegasus.
"Eeep!" Shrieked the timid pegasus jumping in the air. "Oh. It's just you Rainbow." she said now calming down.
"I'm sorry I scared you, Fluttershy." Apologized Rainbow dash.
"I-it's ok Rainbow, I was just daydreaming of you, AND she quickly corrected hoping Rainbow wouldn't notice her slip up." Much to Flutteshy's relief she didn't say anything even though she heard her.
"Ready to start?" Rainbow asked Fluttershy.
"Uh, yes, um sorry what is it you wanted me to do again?" Fluttershy asked shyly.
"Ok, I need to cheer to get me pumped up ok Flutters." Rainbow said.
"Um, ok. I'll try my best." Fluttershy said meekly.
As Rainbow took to the sky Fluttershy cheered "yay" in a voice not very loud to most., including rainbow, who was just happy to see her trying. Which she realized to be uncharacteristic of herself. Looking down she noticed Fluttershy wasn't cheering anymore but just staring at her with a smile that was showing she was daydreaming again. Finally landing lightly next to Fluttershy she asked softly "So, how was the show?"
The timid pony jumped up again making an eep sound and blushed "So-sorry rainbow I-I-I..." she trailed off hiding behind her mane.
"'Shy, it's ok I know my awesome moves can leave a pony speechless." Rainbow boldly stated.
Flutteshy blushed and giggled hiding behind her mane more. The soft mare asked "If you don't have anything planned or are busy would you like to have tea with me next week, if you don't mind.
"Sure Shy, when should I come over?" Rainbow asked.
"Um, Monday at seven, i-if it's not inconvenient for you?"
Rainbow realizing her schedule for Monday being pretty busy but, not wanting to hurt her shy friends feelings said "It's no problem Shy." "Thanks for cheering for me today Shy i'll see you later I going to go pull some pranks with Pinkie Pie."
"Ok, just don't hurt anyone, please." She said timidly
Confused yet happy Rainbow dashed to Sugar Cube Corner to meet Pinkie Pie when she landed she was met by a glomp from a Pinkie Pie energetic as usual.
"Hey...Pinkie...air." Rainbow strained to say.
"Oh, sorry Rainbow i'm just superduperalleyuper excited to see you." The party pony said "Not that i'm not always superduperalleyuper excited to see you whenever you come, just today i'm even more superduperalleyuper excited to see you than normal. I'm really excited i'm actually superduperalleyuper nervouscited because..."
She was cut off by the sound of a grumble coming from the pony below her.
"OHMYGOSH you must be starving let me get you some really yummy cupcakes I've been working on, you'll love it!" yelled the pink pony. As quick as she was gone she was back and picked up rainbow maned pegasus and bounced into the Sugar Cube Corner. Sitting Rainbow dash down and giving her the cupcake.
"Wow thanks, that's a great looking cupcake, Pinkie." Said Rainbow relieved not be in the crushing grip of Pinkie's hug.
"And it tastes delicious. What did you put in these?" Asked a pleased Rainbow dash.
"It's a secret and I may tell later." Said a taunting Pinkie Pie.
Having finished her cupcake Rainbow asked "Ready to start some pranks Pinkie?"
"I'M ALWAYS READY FOR SOME PRANKS!" Shouted an excited Pinkie grabbing Rainbow, and a wagon of supplies that seemingly came out of nowhere .
"So Dashie who is our first victim?" Pinkie asked in a very evil voice proceeded by a giggle.
Dash rolled her eyes at being called "Dashie"
Hmm thought rainbow dash "Right there". as she pointed to Derpy the mail mare who was delivering mail.
"Now don't play too mean of a prank maybe something like a fake snake in a mailbox that springs out like a snake in a can." Dash cautioned Pinkie who happily agreed.
Three mail boxes down they set up the trap and put the little red flag up and when Derpy got there she opened the mailbox and spring went the snake. Seeing Pinkie and Dash laughing in the bush a little ways away Derpy, having a good sense of humor laughed as well. Then they went to the next place to prank the next pony. After they set everything up they hid in a bush a little bit away they giggled at the anticipation of the next victim whom ever it would be. As they waited Pinkie stared into Dash's eyes as Dash saw here lost dreamily she asked "You ok, Pinkie?"
Being shocked out of her stupor Pinkie Pie felt a weird combo coming. One she had only felt once not knowing what it meant. This time it was more dramatic and then it stopped Rainbow asked "what does that mean?"
"I-I-I don't...I don't know her hair still puffy she just had a shocked face and was too confused and shocked to say anything else or notice that their trap went off. Rainbow chuckled a bit at the pony covered in pie but was worried about Pinkie who now seemed better and had a smile in her face and asked rainbow "I want to no I need to have a party next Monday and I need you to come will you please oh please oh please Dashie!?
Dash realizing this may be a bit too much for her to juggle and wondered why Monday but, decided not to ask and she didn't want to hurt her friends feelings so she agreed to go.
Dash said to Pinke "I have to go help Twilight with a spell to turn a pegasus into a earth pony and back she lied know well enough she would never be part of a spell that could make her lose her wings. Pinke didn't act as Rainbow would have expected. She seemed more um angry or jealous, or something else Dash couldn't put her hoof on it. Well in order not to make Pinkie suspicious she went to Twilight's.
At Twilight's house Rainbow knocked on the door and waited for a while to be greeted by Spike, Twilight's assistant, who looked like he was having a rough day.
"Hey Rainbow, nice to see you, what brings you over?" Spike said not very cheerful but, seemingly relieved.
"Nice to see you to spike is Twilight home?" Rainbow asked curious of why the little dragon seems so exhausted.
"Yeah, she is in a bit of a bad mood and I think she really needs a friend to help her out of it. That's why i'm glad your're here. She refused to have me go get somepony to see her." Spike said fast yet clear enough for Rainbow to get most of it.
"No problem Spike i'm glad to help out a friend." Rainbow said striking a pose like a hero which was dissolved by a loud shout.
"SPIKE!" They heard a loud voice shout
Spike looked at Rainbow with pleading eyes and asked "Please help, I don't want to go up there."
"I'm not sure I wanna go up there either but, somepony has to and i guess will be that somepony." gulped Rainbow.
She went up to Twilight's room and blushed as she saw Twilight reading a book on pegasi. "SPIKE HURRY UP I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO... to...to... " she trailed off her eyes got big she shoved her book in her pillow and blushed she asked "Hey Rainbow... how much did you see and hear."
"Well enough to know you need Spike up here for some reason and that someone may want to know more about pegasus" Rainbow said .
"What did Spike tell you?" asked Twilight nervously
"That you need a friend and somepony is being a bit grumpy. Well, the awesomest pony in Ponyville is here to help a friend in need. So what are you trying to figure out and i'm gonna assume its about pegasi considering the book in your pillow." Rainbow dash said flying over and grabbing a book out of the pillow seeing the book mark she began to open just to be stopped by magic grabbing the book from her and sending it down stairs.
"Haha uh, Rainbow will you help me out that book probably doesn't have as good information as the greatest flyer in Equestria." The alicorn gushed hoping her pegasus friend would ignore what she may have seen in the book.
"You got that right I am definitely the greatest flyer in Equestria!" Agreed Rainbow not noticing Twilight sigh in relief.
"So you wanna know about your wings and more about them i'm assuming." Dash said
"Um, well, yes." Twilight said sounding much more like Flutteshy then herself.
"Ok this may be a little awkward and feel good but, just bare with it." Dash said as she went up to Twilight
She gently rubbed her wings explaining the anatomy and how each part reacts and works with things other than flying. Seeming like a roll reversal between the two Twilight not listening well as Rainbow explaned in great detail only to realize that Twi's wings had gone stiff. Telling her what that means Twilight thought of the night before she went through the mirror to the other world and her failed relationship with the stallion Flash Sentry. Rainbow blushed as she realized she was rubbing her the purple pony's wings sensually as she heard Twilight fail to stifle a moan. "Sorry Twi." Rainbow apologized "I kinda forgot what i was doing."
Twilight quickly responded "Oh, thats ok you gave a great example of how the wings react to certain movements." They both blushed quickly looking away.
"Well I gotta head home and take care of tank." Rainbow half lied
Twilight looked down slightly saddened but, perked up when Rainbow said "I'll teach you more next Friday ok Twilight brightened hearing this but, then looked down as she remembered that almost all week she would be in Canterlot with Princess Celestia working on expanding on her views now that she is a princess.
"Is it ok if we make it Monday, because I have to work with Celestia next week and..." She trailed of.
Rainbow smiled softly and said ok but, I have a lot planned so we may have to make it short.
She then Flew home to go to bed and think this whole crazy day over.
