> Your Friendly Neighborhood Draquonequus > by Inyoface > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > DISCORD PARTY! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hello? I know you're there." Discord rang the bell a few more times, but still no answer. He examined his claws nonchalantly as he waited at the counter. He gazed at the ponies hiding under every chair, table and potted plant in the cafe. "Look, I just want my frappuchino, and i'll be out. Is that really too much to ask?" He explained to the cashier cowering behind the counter. She finally raised her head and spoke to the Lord of Chaos. "Umm,... will....that b..b..be all..s..ss.. sir?" The terrified pony at the register shuddered. She braced onto the counter as if Discord was about to blast her into another dimension. He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yes." "Eh...Eh...Eight b..bits p..p...p...please.." She was on the verge of crying. Nine bits materialized on the counter. "Keep the change." Discord said. After much angst and ridiculous amounts of pressure and scowling, the Frappuchino was finally handed to Discord, and he , with a snap of his fingers, popped out of the shop. As he floated away, sipping his frozen, caffeinated drink, he could hear sobbing from inside the cafe. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Nobody hates you! They just haven't had the pleasure of getting to know you yet!" Fluttershy beamed at Discord. He had taken his little cafe story to the only pony he knew that would actually listen or care. His best friend, Fluttershy. "Oh, I wish. The way they all look at me, the way they avoid me, or scream whenever i'm around! They definitely hate me." Discord replied. It was rare that he ever cared about these kind of things, but he sure was getting tired of it. "You know what we need?" Fluttershy chimed. "what" He replied non-enthusiastically. "A little help from our friend, Pinkie!" "Ugh." He grunted. "Not some party!" "Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Fluttershy said reassuringly. "Fine, but no kids!"He said sternly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discord scowled as he watched the children run around the punch table. "I said, no.Kids!" He muttered angrily to himself. The thought of any annoying children at his party made him quite aggrivated. He didn't like the decor either. Large banners with pictures of his face and the words DISCORD PARTY! hung from the ceiling. Multi-colored streamers adorned the spaces around the banners, and confetti littered the ground in some places. Most of these things were not very Discord-y. It was his party after all. As for the party guests, they really didn't know whether to be nervous (due to the fact of it being a DISCORD PARTY!) or excited (due to it being one of Pinkie's famous parties). So they were mostly just confused, but they still had drinks and snacks. Generally enjoyed themselves. Discord was hiding himself for fear of scaring the guests, and had integrated himself into one of the banners. he was having quite the time keeping to himself, but then... "I see you, you know." The young filly stated. Discord looked down at the child. "Oh really now, my little pony?" "Yeah, really. What are you doing? It's your party, why aren't you mingling or something?" she asked as she took a sip of her drink. "Good question." Discord snapped his fingers, and appeared on a small throne under the banner he recently occupied. The majority of guests shrieked, Fluttershy blocked the door, and Pinkie calmed the guests down.Discord looked back at the filly. "point taken." "I'm not going to hurt you!" He called out to the cowering ponies. The ponies eventually resumed the party, albeit a bit more on the nervous side. "So, who exactly is Discord, anyway?" the young filly asked him. Discord leaned in and eyed the filly. "Excuse me? You mean to say that you came to this party not even knowing who I am?" Discord was shocked. "Yes. I just came because it's one of Pinkie's parties." she said. Discord scowled "And you're not afraid of me? Not even a little?" "What do I have to be afraid of?" she said. "I'm the lord of chaos!" He slammed his fist down on the arm of his throne. Another wave of fear shuddered through the crowd. "Cool. And I'm the ruler of Fondaska in Elder Mares Five." She chimed. "Not. Funny." Discord snapped. He floated up from his throne, which promptly dissapeared, and hovered towards the punch and snack table. discord fixed himself a drink, and a snack. He was feeling quite contempt, until, that is, a certain young filly that had been bothering a certain Lord of Chaos, approached that certain Lord of Chaos and continued to bother him. "So, how come I've never seen you around before? you would think I would remember someone like you." "Where are your parents?" Discord asked, clearly done with the child and her bothersome ways. "I don't have any." The young filly said. The Draquonequus nearly spit out his drink. no parents? No matter how hard he tried to put it off, he couldn't help feeling sorry for the kid. Discord frowned. "Sorry to hear that, I guess.." Discord muttered. "I get that alot." Discord materialized a chair under the filly, lifting her up to eye level. "You remind me of someone, I know..." Discord whispered to her. Meanwhile, the guests began to leave, and it was getting late. The stars were coming out and Discord knew exactly what to do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miles, and miles away, a certain Lord of Chaos, and a certain young filly apparated atop the roof of the tallest tower in Canterlot along with beach chairs, and a huge telescope. Tonight they would enjoy the display of stars that shimmered in every night. "Woah! Where are we!" The filly gasped. "Canterlot." Discord grinned. The filly stared at the skies in wonder. And The Lord of Chaos, for the first time not making ponies unhappy, felt happy making other ponies happy. A totally new concept to him. It felt good. Really good. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So how did you like the party?".Fluttershy asked. A scoreboard appeared out of thin air. "I give it a... six." He grinned at his best friend. The scoreboard flashed six points. Fluttershy flew up to a potted plant and poured some water into the pot. "Just a six?" Fluttershy asked cheekily. "Fine. " Ten points flashed on the scoreboard. "Really?" She asked, eyebrows raised. "But it was nothing legendary..." "Sure.." She smiled at him.
