She looked back at the letter held in her newly learned levitation spell, glowing green just like her emerald colored eyes. “Do you really think I got the audition?” she asked, tapping the letter with her front hoof. Just a few days ago, Belle signed up for a professional musical after earning her newly discovered cutie mark of a music note with a pink heart at the end of it along with two black music notes on each side. But the play, about a little filly discovering her talent of singing through adventures, had too much ponies signing up for it each year, so the presenters of it picked out some random ponies from the sign ups. This was done so the judges of the audition didn’t waste valuable time. After they picked the people they sent a letter to everyone who signed up saying they either got the audition or they didn’t. This letter that was floating in a green aura before Sweetie Belle was that letter. Belle looked back at her friends and sister, back at the letter, then to her friends and sister. “I-I’m just nervous…” she stumbled. “W-what if I don’t get in?” “Relax, Sweetie! If I were you I’d just rip that letter open! And if I didn’t get in? Well they’re missing me!” Scootaloo boasted. Sweetie Belle giggled slightly at her friend’s unending humor. Even if they were older, they’re childish acts would never end. She looked back at the letter. “Well, here we go.” Taking one last look at the pure white envelope closed up by a stamp, Sweetie used her magic to open the letter carefully yet fast, soon seeing the letter folded into the opening. The green aura took the letter and unfolded it, making the words imprinted on it all readable. Finally, she read the mail. Dear Miss Sweetie Belle, We are happy to inform you that you have gotten the audition to try to perform in our newest play, “Sing it Long, Live it Loud”! The audition is at the Manehattan Theater at 2 ‘o clock PM on December 30th. Sincerely, Manehattan Performer Company Sweetie Belle couldn’t believe it. She took a quick look over it just to make sure it was true. Her heart was beating a mile a minute. Her cheeks tugged her lips into a large smile. Her crowd of friends could only stare at how big Sweetie’s smile was getting. But she popped. “I HAVE AN AUDITION FOR A PROFESSIONAL PLAY!” The white unicorn bounced around wildly and hugged her friends tightly. “I might even get the part!” she shouted a few seconds after she shouted the previous stated yell. “That’s great Sweetie! Ah can’t wait ta see ya in that play!” Apple Bloom said as she trotted over to give her an extra hug. “Yes, Rarity does so agree,” stated a fancy voice coming from Belle’s back as she hugged Apple Bloom. Breaking the hug, Sweetie Belle started bouncing again in the most exciting way. “Now I can see Manehattan for sure now! Not just those blurry old memories from when I was a WAY young filly! But I’d probably need to get a hotel there for a while if I were to get to the play on time, but its okay! So I’d get a nice room in a hotel there, get the part, perform it, become famous, and voila! My life is…” Sweetie’s rambling was stopped by an orange hoof covering her mouth. “Hold up, hold up,” Scootaloo said. “Get in a hotel Manehattan? Like, for a big while? But that’s way too long and far away!” Sweetie Belle blushed, smiled sheepishly, and flattened her ears. “Right… I’ll visit though!” “But wait a minute,” Rarity interrupted. “You mean by yourself?” She frowned. “But Rarity! I am much more mature than I was when I was a crusader! Please? I can do this!” Rarity put on a fiercer frown. “What about food? Water? Where will you find the bits for that? I’m sure the last time I looked in wallet you had only three bits in there.” Sweetie saddened and looked to the ground. “Oh... I just wanted to get in this play but, my sissy wissy doesn’t want me too…” with that, the white pony put on the saddest and cutest puppy face she could manage. Rarity felt her heart shatter into pieces. “I-I didn’t really mean it that way… I’ll give you bits, yes! From my own bank account and wallet! I do have a lot and it doesn’t really hurt to share… Or maybe even a small gem! That always does the trick! And...” Before the fancy unicorn got to finish she felt the curls of her sister’s mane on her shoulders and white hooves wrapped around her neck. “Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!” Belle said continuously. “I love you Rarity! You’re the best sister ever!” The fashionista picked up a hoof and patted her sister’s back while at the same time urging her to get off. Eventually, the young mare climbed off her neck. Rarity said a quick goodbye to Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo before leaving home. Once she left the old crusaders laughed and played until the sun was beginning to set. By that time, they all went home. *************************************************** Sweetie Belle looked back at all of her friends waving goodbye to her. Granny Smith, the CMC, Twilight and her friends, and Rarity who just HAD to invite all the fillies at her school all waved and smiled at her. But at least she was lucky enough to not see that Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were not there. Finally, Miss Cheerily thought it was a good idea to come as well. She was on the platform to get on the train to leave to Manehattan. The engineer gave a last call to get Ponyville-leavers to go to the city of proper and fine quality. “ALL ABOARD TO MANEHATTAN!” he called out. “LAST CHANCE!” Belle wiped a tear from her eye. “Well, I guess this means goodbye,” she stated, sniffling. Rarity, however, was full out crying. “I’ll miss you Sweetie Belle!” she said. “Don’t forget to visit us!” Apple Bloom and Scootaloo said at the same time. “I hope you get the part!” Miss Cheerily said, the whole class calling out byes, Twilight, Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie doing the same thing; calling out “Goodbye, Sweetie Belle!” The white unicorn thought it we as quite noisy though, really. Just a blur of voices speaking to her. She got on the train and waved one last goodbye before finding a seat and putting her luggage on table that was tugged in between the two seats in one car, being available for four ponies. Sweetie laid down on one of the seats, hoping to catch a nap before she got all the way to Manehattan. Sleep found her, and she drifted into a lovely dream. ~Dream Mode~ It was dark. Sweetie Belle could almost feel the shadows creeping up her back. She could hear the crowd roaring. The spotlight singing. The host calling her name saying that she was on the spotlighted stage next. She was sweating. But it wasn’t hot; she was just nervous. As the crowd called to her, she walked on to the stage. She smiled, and began to sing. Singing to make her calm. Singing to calm the crowd. And singing to fill the room with pure joy. The song was over. The contest was over. And she won 1st. She took the trophy in her hoof- ~Out of Dream Mode~ “COME GET OFF THE TRAIN TO GO TO MANEHATTAN!” the engineer called. Sweetie rubbed her eyes drowsily. Yeah, thanks for ruining my dream, buddy, she thought, grabbing her luggage off the table and getting off the train. She shivered as the crisp cold air blew coldly at her skin, stinging it and freezing her. “I didn’t know it was winter over here,” she muttered. Belle grabbed a scarf out of her bag and wrapped it around her neck. She then began to search for a nice hotel in the big bustling city. The closest she found to what she was looking for was a tall hotel with nice condos that already had nice furniture, dishes, silverware, and other basic stuff you would need to live. She was quickly set into a condo where she was left with her bags, money, and some long-lasting food Rarity gave to her at the last minute. Sweetie set up everything and settled in the next few days. She mostly used her spare time either practicing or cleaning the room. But it was when she was practicing that a certain thought came to mind: Why did I leave Ponyville so early? The audition was almost a month away. But the thought went as soon as it came, and Sweetie Belle continued practicing as she desired. But one other thought came to mind as well; What if Apple Bloom and Scootaloo left Ponyville as well, looking for their own desires in farther cities? Would she ever find them?
