Prologue

1,000 years ago...

It was vary late into Luna's night. Two dark coated pegasi were making their way to the edge of the Everfree forest after being summoned by Princess Luna to meet her there. One, a pegasus with yellow stripes which were identical to those of a zebra, and the other a pegasus with a mane and tail consisting of red and black which shined white in the bright light of the full moon.

The pegasi remained silent, not to lose focus on arriving where the Princess had told them to meet her, until the yellow striped pegasus spoke. "Shadow Dash, my brother! Why do you think the Princess requested an audience with us? Especially at some place such as the Everfree forest, with all of its monstrous creature that reside in it's darkness?"

Shadow Dash did nothing but look directly ahead and sighed. "I don't know, Dark Thunder. But if it's the Princess asking to meet us, it must be important. But remain aware of what she does. The Princess has been acting very strangely recently. Who knows what she might do to us. So be careful!"

Dark Thunder nodded in agreement and replied, "Right brother! I'll stay about my wits! You be carful as well, brother!"

Shadow Dash nodded as they continued on their path to the Everfree forest.

---------------------------------------

They arrived at the edge of the Everfree forest and, as she said she would, Princess Luna was there waiting for them, the look of anger coursing though her eyes.

The brothers landed a few feet in front of the Princess of the Night. They stood in awaiting scilence for a few seconds before the Princess greeted them. "Thou hast arrived late! No matter, 'tis is of extreme importance! Thou brothers hath been chosen to guard something very unique. It's magic is unlike any other. Thou hath been our most loyal subjects. We hath chosen thou to guard this."

The two brothers now stood next to each other standing straight with pride and intent on listening to what their mission will consist of. "Thou shall travel deep into the Everfree forest in search of a mystical fountain with the aide of this map." She hoofs them over a rolled-up map. "Thou art to keep all things, big and small, away from the fountain. Thou must then stay there, unless otherwise informed." The two brothers stared at each other in shock of what the Princess was expecting of them.

Dark Thunder opened his mouth ready to speak until the Princess interrupted him and said, "Before thou begins, there is one more thing thou must know. Neither of thou art permitted use of the fountain. Do we make ourself clear?!" The brothers nodded their understanding. "Now, while our night is still young, begin thou quest and protect thy fountain."

The brothers gave their salutes as they simultaneously said, "As you wish your majesty." before they began to gallop into the Everfree forest, fearlessly, in search of the mystic fountain.

Chapter 1

Present day...

"Fluttershy, I've been wanting to get something off of my chest for a while now and I just wanted you to know that... I-I can't stand to be away from you, Fluttershy! And... I love you... There, how was that?" Rainbow Dash was in her room talking to a picture of Fluttershy which she taped onto the shell of, her pet tortoise, Tank. Who was shaking his head in response to Rainbow's question. "Well thanks for the load of confidence." She closed her eyes and bucked the cloud wall right next to her in angry frustration. "Oh hourseapples! I'm never gonna get this right! Urg!" She finishes with an extra strike to the wall next to her which deformed as she hit it before it sprung back to it's original position.

She took a deep breath and calmed down before she looked at her calendar which had this day circled and written within it, read 'Confession'. 'Oh Celestia help me.' She thought to herself wishing she had more time to prepare. She looked over to her clock. "I'm late!" She said realizing that she spent to much time preparing for the moment about to come.

"Tank, don't blow-up the house while I'm gone." She said as she took off flying through one of her open windows and headed to Fluttershy's cottage for the plan she had been working on for months. She would have done it earlier, but every time she tried it would be either Fluttershy would be to busy or one of their friends had insisted to join them. It would usually be Pinkie Pie thinking that there was going to be a carriage load of fun where ever Rainbow Dash was going with anypony else. But this time was different. This time Fluttershy had nothing to keep her busy and Rainbow made sure that their friends wouldn't interrupt them or ask to, as Pinkie would say, "...join the party!" It was just her and Fluttershy. And she wasn't planning on letting this one in a million chance get away from her. Her heart was long set for this day. Now if only her brain can come-up with what words to say.

-----------------------------------

Fluttershy was in front of the mirror on her dresser trying misurably to give herself more confidence for what she was planning to do. "Come on Fluttershy! Just do it! Rainbow Dash, …I-I love…" She started to panic and looked around frantically and desperitly for something that she could change the subject to. "I love ANGEL!" She said lifting her pet bunny to the mirror.

Angel Bunny was not amused by this, crossing his arms to show his disapproval of how Fluttershy was torturing herself.

"Oh shoot! Not again!" She said frustrated at herself for being so shy. She put down Angel Bunny and apologized. "I'm sorry Angel. I just can't do it. No matter how hard I try I just can't bring myself to tell her that I lo-"

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

She was interrupted by a knocking at her door. "Fluttershy, open up! It's me, Rainbow Dash!" Shouted her crush from behind the front door.

Fluttershy's eyes widen as she panicked, her heart sped up, looking from side to side in search of her calendar which read 'Spend the day with Rainbow Dash'.

"Oh no. I forgot that was today." She whispers to herself before addressing her rainbow maned friend outside. "Oh! Um, coming!" She flew down to the lower level of her cottage then to her door.

She hesitated a moment before she opened the door. She took a deep breath and opened the door to see Rainbow Dash standing behind it. At the sight of the cyan mare, a small smile etched it way onto her face.

"Well, it's about time ya opened the door. Now come on. I got somewhere I want to show you." She started to fly off of Fluttershy's porch before she stopped and turned around to wait for Fluttershy.

The cream colored pegasus stepped out onto the porch and called to her little white companion. "Angel! Don't get into any trouble while we're out!" She closed the door and took to the sky to follow Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash began to lead her friend towards the Everfree forest before Fluttershy stopped and said, "Y-you're taking us into the Everfree forest?! But it's so dangerous."

Rainbow Dash stopped and turned around to say, "Yeah, I know Fluttershy. And if anything try's to hurt you in any way, I will buck it to the moon. Besides, there's a clearing I found a couple of weeks ago that I know you'll just love. It's a great spot for sleeping and none of the 'big and scary'
creatures of the forest ever seem to go into it. So you have nothing to worry about. Okay, Fluttershy?" She finished looking into the pink maned pegasi's cerulean eyes.

Fluttershy tried to hold back a blush and giggled a little before saying, "O-Okay, Rainbow Dash. I trust you."

The cyan pegasus pulled back and said, "Good! Now let's get there already!" She began flying in the same direction she was flying in before.

Fluttershy followed soon afterwards and replied, "R-Right behind you, Dashie."

Rainbow Dash looked back at her cream colored friend. "Dashie? You haven't called me that since we were fillies."

"Oh! Uh, sorry." Fluttershy apologized feeling stupid about what she had done.

"NoNo, you don't have to be sorry about it. I actually kinda miss that." She said trying to reassure her friend.

"Oh! Okay." Said Fluttershy feeling happy about being able to call Rainbow Dash by her old nickname.

---------------------------------------

They traveled over the Everfree forest before Rainbow Dash pointed at a small clearing to land in. Once they landed, Fluttershy took her time to admire all of the beautiful plant life that grew in it, untouched by anypony else. It was breath taking to say the least. "Wow. It's so beautiful." She said forgetting everything and just admiring the amazing flora.

Rainbow Dash, only staring at Fluttershy replied, "Yeah, you are."

"What was that?" Fluttershy asked, barely hearing her cyan friend."

Rainbow shifted her vision elsewhere rapidly rubbing a hoof behind her head. "Ahahah. I-I said... 'More '!"

"More?"

"Y-yeah. I just thought, I wish I could have showed you this more often." Rainbow said trying to cover her own tracks, so to speak.

Fluttershy smiled at her friend before looking back to the plants and saying "Well thank you for bringing me here. It's so beautiful."

Rainbow took this opportunity to fix what she said earlier. "I know. When I saw this place it made me think of how much you might like it."

"Well thank you Dashie. Its certainly wonderful." 'Almost as wonderful as your lovely, toned body.' Fluttershy thought to herself.

Cleared her throat. "Um, Fluttershy? There's something I wanted to talk to you about."

Fluttershy turned to face her cyan friend before asking, "What is it, Dashie?"

Rainbow Dash began to blush. Her heart was beating uncontrollably. She opened her mouth to talk only to have the words get stuck in her throat. Unable to look Fluttershy in the eyes, she began to look at the ground next to her, but then came to the realization that she HAD to look her in the eyes. Just to make sure that Fluttershy understands that it was coming from Rainbow's heart.

Rainbow Dash looked up into those wide cerulean eyes and finally said, "F-Flu-Fluttershy. Ever sense the day I met you... back in flight camp... I was always able to count on you to be my friend. No matter how tough things got, no matter how much trouble either of us got into, you were always my friend... And Fluttershy... I just wanted you to know... that... that I..." This was it. There was absolutely no chance of coming back from this. Rainbow Dash pulled out ounce of courage and every molecule of will-power she had within her body to finally come out and say it. "I love you Fluttershy! I've always loved you. I just needed to know… Fluttershy? Do you… do you love me?" The cyan pegasus let out a tear as she finished in fear of what her friend might say or do.

Fluttershy was in an utter state of shock. She never expected that her best friend would be the one to admit her love for the cream colored pegasus. Fluttershy nearly didn't believe that moment had even happened, but there, standing right in front of her, was Rainbow Dash. The mare of her dreams. The mare she had wanted to admit her own love to for a very long time, was standing in front of her waiting for her friend to answer, tears slowly trekking down her face.

This was too much for Fluttershy. She couldn't bring herself to tell Rainbow Dash that she loved her back. She opened her mouth but was completely speechless. So instead of talking, Fluttershy lunged herself into Rainbow Dash, bringing her into a long passionate kiss.

Rainbow Dash was surprised by the shy mare's reaction. But soon she melted away into the embrace. She was doing it. She was sharing her first kiss, with her first love, who happened to be her first real friend.

Fluttershy was at a lose of words for her experience. Despite this being her first kiss as well, she was having an experience that she had only read in romance novels. Except, she didn't feel any fireworks. No. This was to amazing to be described by something as simple as fireworks. She felt as if she was soaring higher then she had ever soared in her life. Higher then the clouds. Higher than the sky! She was soaring through the stars, their peace and stillness just filling her with a sense of true safety, protection and a closeness to another that she has never felt before.

Fluttershy wasn't the only pony feeling something from this kiss. Rainbow felt as if the entire world itself had stopped just for the two of them. In this single moment, the world just stopped. And it felt so... serene and peaceful. It was as if she were laying down in a soft meadow field which brought her ease of mind and a calmness never experienced by the speedster. She didn't need anything else to happen, she was happy how she was this very second.

Unfortunately, this moment came to an end when Fluttershy pulled away. She took a few breaths and looked at the crimson eyes of Rainbow Dash. "Dashie. I love you too." Fluttershy immediately went back to the embrace they shared before, satisfied with finally giving Rainbow Dash an official answer. Now they COULD stay like this for as long as they want. Nopony was going to stop them.

The two pegasi remained there kissing until they grew tried and sleepy. The two pegasi laid down next to one another. The creme pegasus resting her head on the warm shoulder of the cyan pegasus while the cyan pegasus rested her head on the head of the creme colored pegasus until they both drifted into a peaceful nuzzling each other until they each went to sleep.

Chapter 2

Fluttershy woke up the next morning feeling something soft, warm, and heavy on top her head. As a matter of fact, she felt it all along the side of her body. And it was breathing. She suddenly came to recall the events of the protruding night. She let a smile come across her muzzle as she realized who it was that was sleeping along side her.

Rainbow Dash woke up with the sun forcing it's way through her eyelids. She noticed that she wasn't sleeping on her fluffy cloud bed. Instead she was sleeping on some patch of grass somewhere. And that's when she noticed it. Something soft and warm shifted slightly underneath her. She opened her eyes to the sight of the flowing pink mane of her friend blowing slowly in the soft morning breeze of the forest. She stayed there for a moment taking in the sight of the beautiful pink hairs flying just in front of her muzzle before she lifted her head to stretch out her muscles and allow her friend to rest in the warm glow of the sun. But her pink maned friend was already up and was waiting for her wake from her peaceful slumber.

Finally, Fluttershy got up and let out a quiet yawn before saying, "Good morning Dashie." She leaned into Rainbow's neck and began to nuzzle it with care.

The cyan pegasus brought her head closer to the top of Fluttershy's head and began to return the nuzzle. "Good morning Fluttershy. How'd you sleep?" She asked softly without breaking their embrace.

Fluttershy smiled and let out a little giggle. "It was perfect, Dashie. Just perfect." She brought her hooves around Rainbow's neck to pull her in closer.

Rainbow did the same. She brought her own hooves around Fluttershy to share the embrace. "So were you, Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash tightened her embrace pulling the pink maned mare closer to her.

Fluttershy pushed out of the embrace to ask, "So what now? I-I mean, I know that we're gonna have to tell our friends but, what are we to each other? A-Are we recently dating? Are we marefriends? I mean, we both love each other but... what are we?"

Rainbow Dash just looked at the questioning mare before leaning in and kissing her quiet friend on the lips. "How about we wait a while before we let them know about us? That alright with you." She said pulling away from their kiss.

Fluttershy looked at her cyan friend, a small smile shaping her face as she replied, "Oh. Okay. I like that plan." She re-embraced Rainbow into another passionate kiss as all of the little creatures of the forest began to awaken into the peaceful morning.

------------------------------------

23 dates later, the two pegasi were taking the long path back to Fluttershy's cottage after a night out in the town. Rainbow Dash was holding Fluttershy in a wing hug when she came to a stop, stopping Fluttershy as well.

"Dashie? I-Is there something wrong?" Fluttershy asked worryingly.

Rainbow just look at the ground shyly and replied, "O-Oh. Uh. I-It's nothing... Um, Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy looked at her lover, a concerned look on her face. "Y-Yes, Dashie?" She asked cautiously.

Dash continued to look at the ground as she said, "W-We've been going out for a while now and I-I was wondering if..." She cleared her throat as she lifted her head to look at Fluttershy and pulled out a small jewelry box from her closed wing. "Fluttershy.... W-Will you marry me?" She opened the box to reveal a necklace with a medallion which resembled her cutie mark.

Fluttershy raised a hoof over her mouth to cover a gasp as she was taken aback as her eyes widened. She began to tear up from the sheer joy of the situation. She had never been asked to marry somepony before. She paused a moment but eventually answered, "Yes! YES!!! Oh! A thousand times, YES!" She rushed in to kiss her newly proclaimed fiancé as her wings came around to envelop Rainbow in a loving wing hug.

They stayed in their embrace for what seemed like forever, when suddenly, Rainbow Dash herd hoofsteps from behind her. She pulled away from their embrace and took a look as what was behind her to see another pony watching them from the darkness of a nearby alley. "Who's there?!" Rainbow said in a panic.

The pony began to run away and Rainbow Dash chose to chase after them. Only pausing to say, " Wait here Fluttershy! I'll be back! Promise!" She continued on her chase when she finished addressing Fluttershy.

"Get back here!" Rainbow dashed off towards the alley that she saw the pony in. She entered the dark alley only to find that pony turn the corner. "I see you!" She zoomed to the corner and came to see a temporarily blinding light. Once she regained her vision Dash frantically looked around. "Where they go?" Not finding anypony, she took to the skies. She looked over all of the roof tops in search of the pony. "Alright then. Where are you?" But she didn't have to search long. She heard hoof-steps running away from where she was. She looked in the direction of the hoof-steps to find the same pony running away. "I've gotcha' now!" She dived down after the pony but as soon as she was about to tackle them to the ground, the pony spread a pare of wings and kicked up into the air to evade Rainbow Dash who crash into the ground below. But being one to crash a lot, she quickly recovered and pounced the strange pony, pinning it to the ground. "Gotcha! Wait! It's you?!" Just the another flash of light appeared and the pony disappeared.

Rainbow Dash remained staring at the ground for a few seconds. She was in disbelieve at who was the one to find them out. She shook her head and took to the sky to return to Fluttershy. On the trip back to her fiancé, Rainbow thought about what they were going to do about the pony.

When Rainbow arrived back from her chase Fluttershy ran up to her and lunged herself into Rainbows chest, which she began to nuzzle as she asked, "Wh-Who was that?"

Rainbow rubbed her hoof on the back of Fluttershy's head as she softly replied, "I-I think it was Twilight."

Fluttershy stumbled back a little. "Twilight?! Oh no! We have to talk to her!" She began to run in the direction of the Ponyville library when she was stopped by a hoof on her shoulder, which pulled her back.

Rainbow Dash turned Fluttershy to make sure that she was looking at her. "Hold on Fluttershy. It's really late. We should be getting home. We can talk to Twilight in the morning, okay? Come on." She paused to give Fluttershy a small peck on the lips. "When we get home, I'll make you some of your favorite tea..." Another peck, this time on her cheek. "...make you a warm bath..." Another peck, this one was on her cheekbone. "...then I can give you that massage you asked for this morning." A final peck on her neck. "How does that sound?" She softly said to Fluttershy.

"Mmmm. Dashie, you should be this romantic more often." She replied swooning and leaning into Rainbow as they stared back down the path to their cottage. Rainbow decided to wrap a wing around Fluttershy and smiled at the amount of affection she was getting from her fiancé, not realizing that it was her that was being affectionate.

------------------------------

The next morning, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash began doing what was now their daily routine. They would wake up, stay in their bed a few minutes as they cuddled with each other, ate breakfast, then they got ready for their day. But today was a little different. While they ate breakfast, they planned on what to do with their friend Twilight, considering what had happened the night before.

"So, here's what we do. I'll go get Pinkie Pie and tell her to go get Applejack and bring her to the library. You'll go get Rarity to come and we'll all meet up at Twilight's. Alright 'Shy?" Rainbow directed her fiancé.

Fluttershy nodded but than asked, "Well, while we're confessing, do you think we should also tell them that we're engaged? I mean, if you don't mind." Fluttershy asked looking into Rainbow's crimson eyes with her own turquoise ones.

Rainbow Dash paused, feeling week in her fiancé's gaze, unable to bring herself to tell her 'no'. With a bright red blush on her face, brought out by her fiancé's cuteness, she replied, "Alright Fluttershy. You win. We'll tell them we're getting married... Heh. I can just imagine Pinkie Pie when we tell them. 'Oo! Oo! Let me plan the bachelorette party...'," Rainbow stopped when she realizes that they both are mares. "Uh... parties. Heh heh." She chuckled.

Fluttershy chuckled a little when she pictured the pink pony jumping up and down, rambling about parties. "Well, at least all we'll have to worry about is the wedding." She replied jokingly. "Speaking of which, don't we have to get you a necklace with my cutie mark on it too?"

The cyan pegasus smiled as she leaned in to kiss her cream colored pegasus before saying, "We will. First thing after we get all of our friends up to date on us. And than we can come back here and I can give you another one of my famous back rubs." She paused to quickly kiss her fiancé's lips before adding, "How does that sound?"

Fluttershy began to relax at the idea of getting a back rub as she said, "That would be just wonderful Dashie."

Rainbow chuckled and pulled back away from Fluttershy, saying, "Come on. Let's get ready for that talk with our friends."

Fluttershy got up and started following Rainbow Dash. "I'm right behind you."

--------------------------

Rainbow Dash landed on the door step of Sugar Cube Corner. She was about to knock on the door of the delicious looking bakery when it opened widely to revile an over jubilant pink mare who bounced out and started bombarding Rainbow Dash with a greeting. "Good morning Rainbow Dash! Why are you here so early? Are you here for some of my cupcakes? Or maybe you're here to tell me about a party you want me to plan? Or mayb-Muuhh hhuuhh huh hhhuh huhm!" She was stopped abruptly by a hoof that was shoved into her mouth.

"Uh. Hi Pinkie. Um. I need to talk to you and the rest of the girls. Could you go and tell Applejack to meet us at Twilight's?" She asked as she cautiously removed her hoof from the party pony's mouth.

Pinkie Pie closed her eyes and replied, "Okie dokie Loki!" before jumping up and dashing off towards Sweet Apple Acres, as Rainbow Dash politely requested.

Rainbow chuckled a little before beginning to fly in the direction of the library.

---------------------------

Meanwhile at Carousel Boutique, Fluttershy was beginning to knock on the door. She waited a short moment before the door opened to reveal the white unicorn who lives there. However, Fluttershy near instantly realized something odd about her. She was wearing a hat that a certain orange friend of their's wore everyday.

Rarity looked at her shy cream colored friend before saying, "Oh! Good morning Fluttershy, darling. I'm sorry but I'm a little busy at the moment." Rarity looked nervous behind the door which she barely opened to show only show her face.

Fluttershy looked at Rarity with a confused expression as she began to say, "Well, um, Rarity? I was wondering if I could talk to you and the others. C-Could you please come to Twilight's library. I-I mean, um… if it's okay with you, that is."

"Rarity? What's takin' ya so long? Come back intah bed with meh!" Said a vary familiar sounding voice with a thick county accent. Fluttershy soon realized who's voice it was. The pony that told Rarity to come to bed to her was none other than Applejack herself. 'THAT explains why Rarity's wearing her hat.' Fluttershy thought to herself.

Rarity blushed and began closing the door as she said, "And that's when I must go. I'll meet you at Twilight's library a little later, darling. Right now I have to deal with this little problem." She walked away from the door closing it behind her.

Fluttershy just stood there dumb founded by what she just found out about two of her friends. All she could do was shake her head to recollect her thoughts and turn around. Than she started walking in the direction of the Ponyville library, unable to forget about her friends, Rarity and Applejack.

----------------------------

As Rainbow Dash was flying towards the library, her quiet fiancé fell into place besides her. "Hey Fluttershy! 'S Rarity coming?"

Fluttershy hesitated and blushed as she remembered her brief interaction with the white unicorn. "W-Well, yes but... sh-she's a little busy... w-with Applejack." She stuttered.

She used the rest of the flight to the library to explain what she experienced at the Carousel Boutique. Her fiancé, Rainbow, was shocked by the news and she couldn't help but respond, "Are you serious?! If I were to guess that Applejack or even RARITY had a crush on somepony, I would guess that APPLEJACK had a crush on ME. And that Rarity would have a crush on... Well, YOU. But that just shows just how beautiful you are, 'Shy." She finished saying as they landed on the door step of the Ponyville Library.

Fluttershy couldn't help but blush and look the other way at the sudden compliments that her fiancé was giving her. "Oh Dashie." She giggled before continuing. "So, we're here. You ready Rainbow?" She said looking back at her cyan lover.

Rainbow Dash just stood looking straight to the door before saying, "Ready as I'll ever be." She gulped then raised her hoof to knock the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Weeeeell, she's not home. Let's go Fluttershy." She said turning away from the door and hastily walking away.

Just then the door, now encased in a magical purple aura, opened up and the two pegasi turn around to see the purple alicorn that saw them the previous night. "RAINBOW DASH?! FLUTTERSHY?!" She paused and gave a nervous chuckle. "W-What are you girls doing here?" She asked, poorly acting like she didn't see what happened the night before.

The two pegasi slowly approached their alicorn friend. "Don't play dumb Twilight. You know why we're here and we'd thought that we'd make a confession."

Just then, a tall dark figure emerged from Twilight's bedroom. The two pegasi look at the figure to come to the realization that it was none other than Princess Luna. "Twilight, love, we're going to the castle to get some work done. We'll be back soon." The Princess said making her way across the library towards the entrance where they all stood. She gave Twilight a kiss on the cheek before walking out the door and saying, "We love thee, Twilight Sparkle!" She flew off in the direction of Canterlot and the castle, leaving the pegasi bewildered and Twilight with a bright red blush on her cheeks.

Twilight looked to her shocked friends, who were looking in the direction of Princess Luna, before saying, "I think you should come in. It looks like I have some explaining of my own to do too."

Chapter 3

The two pegasi walked into the library and the purple alicorn closed the door behind them with her magic as she made her way to the kitchen. When she entered the kitchen, she grabbed a tea kettle, filled it up with water and set it to boil, all with her magic.

The purple alicorn returned with three cups of tea and the tea kettle on a levitating tray. "Spike. I need you to go to your room. We're going to have an adult discussion." The Princess ordered the baby dragon. Spike put up no argument as he went up the flight of stairs to his room.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Just as the door to the dragon's room closed, there was a knock at the front door. Twilight set the tray down on the table before she trotted over to the door. When she opened it, she saw her friends Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rarity standing there waiting to enter. "Good morning, darling. Fluttershy asked us to come here. I do hope that's alright with you. We might have something we would like to tell you." Responded the pristine white unicorn.

"You're not the only ones." Twilight said before she stepped aside to let her friends walk in, with the exception of Pinkie Pie who bounced instead of walk.

Once her friends were seated at the table, Twilight went back to the kitchen and returned with three more teacups. Filling them up before placing a teacup beside each of her friends. Suddenly remembering something she forgot she ventured back to the kitchen only to return with a bowl of sugar cubes.

Pinkie saw an opportunity for a good laugh and pushed the small bowl over to Applejack. "You want any sugar cubes... Sugar cube?"

Everypony stifled a giggle except for Applejack who was oblivious to what was going on. "Why don't mine if ah do."

After everyone got their giggling under control there a small silence which was only broken by the purple alicorn who decided to speak up. "So... wh-who should go first?"

Rainbow gave a small glance at Fluttershy, who gave a small nod of approval, before she replied, "I-I guess we are."

"And who is this 'we' ya'll are speakin' of?" Questioned Applejack looking toward the cyan pegasus with a curious look on her face.

Rainbow Dash closed her eyes and took a deep breath before admitting, "Fluttershy and I... we've... we've been dating... for a while now." She paused at the sound of Applejack giggling.

"Sorry. Sorry. Please, ya'll were sayin'?" Apologized Applejack.

"Anyways, last night we were walking home when I... I decided to..." She sighed and admitted, "I asked Fluttershy... I asked her... I asked her to marry me." She looked toward her fiancé who was looking back at her.

That's when everypony took notice of the necklace hanging around Fluttershy's neck. Rarity gasped deeply, a huge smile etched itself onto her face. Then she said, "Oh! Congratulations! Rainbow, you are lucky to be marrying a wonderful mare like Fluttershy. And Fluttershy..." She said looking at the creme colored mare. She paused to glance at Rainbow Dash before turning back to Fluttershy and saying, "...good luck." She laughed to herself quietly. "Now now dear. I was only joking. Honestly Fluttershy... you couldn't have picked a better mare. You were a match made in the heavens. Best of luck to both of you. Now, I assume that you'll be wanting my talent to make the finest of dresses for the big day?"

"Actually. I was thinking that... I could... You know... not wear a dress." Rainbow Dash said hesitantly.

Rarity jumped back at her request. "Not wear a dress?! But it's your wedding day. Wouldn't you like to look beautiful on that day, of all days?! You most certainly must dress for the special occasion! No exceptions!" She exclaimed, perturbed and confused about her friend's odd request.

"You see, I want to look beautiful but I don't want to be wearing a dress the whole time. So I was thinking that you could make a suit for me instead and that I could take on the duties of the groom and such. 'Cause I don't wanna outshine Fluttershy with my awesomeness." Rainbow turned her head to look at her fiancé. "SHE should be the one everyone is looking at as she walks down the isle, because she deserves it. To outshine her would be a crime against everything good in the world." She finished, as she looked deeply into her fiancé's eyes.

Fluttershy was blushing. Hard. A very deep red showed very noticeably from beneath her coat. She kissed her fiancé before shifting into a hug. "Oh, Dashie. You're just the sweetest... Thank you." She pulled back from the hug to give the cyan pegasus a long and loving kiss.

Rarity sniffled and wiped away a tear before saying, "Alright then. One dress and one tuxedo. I'll make sure they both look astonishingly beautiful."

"That was very lovely, you two, but we have to continue. Now, who would like to make their confession next?" Asked the purple alicorn realizing that her friends were beginning to forget they still had some more confessions to go through.

Rarity spoke up, "Well, I guess we'll go next."

Applejack sighed. "Alright, alright. Ah'll say it." She started. "It all started that first night when Twilight invited us in to stay over at her place 'till that big ol' storm settled down enough for us to mozy on home. Both Rarity and ah were caught in the storm and had to stay here overnight if we weren't wannin' to get sick and all. But at the time, we weren't exactly seein' ah to ah (eye to eye) and with Twilight tryin' to do everything "by the book" we sorta' went into an all out war against each othah. While we played truth or dare we just started to jab at each other like a wood-pecker hittin' a tree. When we tried to get into bed, we hogged the blanket away from each other. But when the tree fell into the.. Um.... tree... we had to set aside our differences to get rid of it and when she turned the big part of the tree in the room into all of those beautiful figurines, ah knew that ah would never want to stay away from her for too long. So ah made every excuse ah could just to spend some time wit' her. Shoot, ah even let Rarity use me as a model for a dress she was makin'. And ya'll know how much ah myself hate to wear dresses. But to tell ya'll the truth, ah'm very glad ah did, 'cause the very next day, ah came back to Rarity's boutique to finally ask her out on an official date. On the way there ah was busy preparin' my self for the most rude awakenin' in my life. But when ah herd Rarity begin to ask me out on a date, ah had nearly fainted. Ah jumped at her nockin' her down and pressed my lips against those soft, warm and inventin' lips of her's. It was the single most greatest time in my life, especially sense neither of us pulled away until we desperately needed some air."

Applejack was amused by a soft loving hug coming from the pristine white unicorn who was now behind her. "Oh Love. I just admire it when you tell that story."

"Ah only told it this once." Applejack replied in a whisper.

"And it was beautiful."She whispered something into Applejack's ear that nopony besides Applejack herself could hear.

Applejack's ears perked up when Rarity spoke softly into her ear before rushing to say, "Alright, who's next? And could ya'll hurry it along?"

Rarity hit Applejack lightly on the shoulder to stop her as she said, "Oh, please do be patient, my love. Go ahead Twilight. Pinkie. Do either of you two have something to admit?"

Pinkie Pie spoke up with a mile long smile across her face threatening to tear it appart. "Nope! Not a thing here! Except for the little incident that happened to me at a dance club. Well, more of a dance party. But I can't remember any thing from that night. Only waking up in bed the next morning with Berry Punch. Did you know she's actually very nice? She makes a wonderful breakfast. OH! And she said she's gonna take me out. Whatever that means. But if it means I get to spend more time with her, then I'll do anything. Especially if there's cake involved. nopony can ever have enough cake! How 'bout you Twilight?"

'Pinkie, you are all sorts of clueless.' Rainbow Dash thought to herself.

Twilight choked up and froze when she was asked that question. "I-I... um... Well... W-When I became a princess I started to research what I should be doing as a princess and it didn't look easy. Just the idea of all of my new responsibilities were making me stressed." Twilight's hooves were shaking from the memory of her stress. "I tried to ask Princess Celestia about what I'm suppose to do specifically and for some help until I get used to it, but she always seemed so busy. So instead, I would just wander the halls of the castle thinking of ways I could handle all of my new responsibilities. When one day, I noticed that the door to Princess Luna's room was open. I decided to just take a look through the door, but before I could even make it to the door, she told me to come in. I had no idea how she knew that it was me but I did as she said and I walked into her room. When I walked in I noticed her laying down on her bed reading a book. She closed it and asked me to tell her why I look worried. She just had this look of concern, safety, caring and hope. So I told her everything. From the moment I first got my wings, to that moment when I noticed that her door was open and by the end of it she had me in a wing hug. I don't even remember either of us moving but their she was, trying to comfort me. Then she started to tell me things. I can't remember what she said but it calmed me down. And she was so gentle and caring that when I looked up at her I couldn't help but kiss her. Right then and there. And what surprised me was that she kissed me back. Instead of pulling away and giving me the cold shoulder for the rest of eternity, she actually kissed back. And from then on, we started to see each other more and we've even gone on a few dates in public." Twilight began to cry tears of happiness as she finished her story.

Pinkie Pie decided to summarize what everypony just said. "So Dashie is marrying Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity have a thing going on and Twilight and Princess Luna are a public item. This is just the most super-tastic-nevousiting-rollercoaster-riding-cupcake-making-extra-ordinary thing anypony can throw a super-awesometastic-exilerating-super-fun-awesome-conffetie-canon-cake-exploding party ever!!! Oh! And RaimbowShy! Can I plan your bachelorette party... -s?" Pinkie Pie rambled out.

Rainbow Dash couldn't help but ask, "Who's 'RainbowShy'?"

Pinkie Pie, with a huge smile on her face, laughed and said, "It's the two of you silly! I just took your names and combined them into one. RainbowShy! You could also make FlutterDash but I think RainbowShy sounds better. It catches the best of the both of you. Don't you think?"

Rainbow looked at the cream colored pegasus sitting next to her and told Pinkie, "Yeah. I guess you're right Pinkie." She paused and turned her head to look at Pinkie Pie. "And of course you can plan the bachelorette parties. We kinda' thought that you were already going to ask us to do that."

Pinkie Pie jumped up and screamed in mid-air, "WOOHOO!!! You two are going to have the best bachelorette parties EVER!!!"

Chapter 4

It took two years of planning, buying, reserving and inviting, but the day finally came. The wedding of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy has finally arrived. Pinkie Pie had hosted some fun bachelorette parties the night before. For Fluttershy she had a peaceful dinner with a couple of friends and for Rainbow Dash, she had a huge extravaganza with tons of ponies. And she also brought a few private dancers for the lucky mare. But enough of the bachelorette parties, it was the time to unify two mares that are deeply in love with each other.

Fluttershy was busy putting on her custom made wedding dress, which Rarity made for her, with the help of Rarity and Applejack while Rainbow Dash, who was in a separate room, was busy putting on her custom made suit, which Rarity also made, with the help of their friend Twilight. Pinkie Pie was busy helping Spike with greeting and seating the wedding guests, over-excitedly showing each and every guest to their seats.

"Hold still Rainbow Dash, before you make me rip this thing!" Twilight ordered as she tried to get the suit onto Rainbow Dash. She was tugging on it as Rainbow Dash struggled to get her head and wings in through the right holes.

"You're pulling to hard!" Retorted the cyan bride. Finally getting her head, hooves and wings in through the holes she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and turned to face the mirror next to her. "Finally! How does it look Twi'?"

The purple alicorn took a moment to look over Rainbow Dash before answering, "NOW you're ready to get married." She quickly paused when she noticed that her tie was crooked. "Just let me..." She trailed off as she focused her magic onto the tie to straighten it out. "There you are! Perfection!" She said in a voice with the same accent as their friend, Rarity.

Rainbow Dash turned to face her royal friend before embracing her in a friendly hug. "Thanks Twi'. You're a good friend."

Twilight returned the hug and said, " No Rainbow. YOU'RE a good friend. You don't have to thank me."

Rainbow released Twilight from the hug and looked at her before replying, "Thanking you is the least I can do for you. I still can't believed that you convinced Princess Celestia to let us have the wedding in the palace. I thought that there was no way that she would let us have our wedding here."

Twilight laughed a little before saying, "Rainbow. All I did was ask her once and she agreed instantly. She even asked to be the one to wed you... Oops! Looks like I spoke to much." She rubbed the back of her neck with her hoof as she accidentally let out a surprise that Celestia and her had planned many months ago.

Rainbow Dash looked at Twilight with wide, surprised eyes. "OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOShOHMYGOSH!!! Twilight! You're the best!" Rainbow said as she embraced Twilight in another hug that went into the air.

"You're... welcome." Twilight let out, unable to breath.

-------------------------

In another room, Fluttershy was easily getting into her dress with the help of Rarity with Applejack on stand-by incase they needed help.

When she got into her dress, she turned to look at herself in the mirror as Rarity placed the vial onto her head. "Oh. Thank you girls b-but do you think Dashie will like it?" She asked starting to feel the stress every bride gets on her wedding day.

"Are ya kiddin'? Knowin' Rainbow, she might faint with how beautiful ya look." Applejack replied in disbelief before turning her head to her marefriend and saying, "Ya'll did an amazin' job on that dress Rarity. I wonder how beautiful ya look on OUR wedding day." She finished by reaching into her dress, pulling out a jewelry box and presented it to Rarity.

Rarity couldn't help but let out a gasp and raised a hoof to her mouth as she realized what was happening.

Applejack continued as she dropped onto her knees, "Rarity, love? Would you do me the honor of marrying me?" She asked in her Manehattan accent, which she hadn't used in years.

Fluttershy just remained there, standing in her wedding dress as she reminisced about the day that Rainbow Dash proposed to her. A tear of happiness began to crawl down her face as she continued to watch what was happening right in front of her.

Rarity just stood there in shock with her hoof over her mouth for what seemed like an eternity before letting her own tears of joy run down her face. She pushed herself into Applejack and embraced her in a strong and loving hug as she said, "Oh, Applejack. Yes! Yes! Yes!" She began to rapid fire kisses all over Applejack's face.

Fluttershy was smiling widely as she said, "Oh. Congratulations you two. I'm so happy of you!"

Applejack began to hug Rarity to stop the barrage of kisses and reply, "Thank ya kindly Fluttershy." She turned her attention to Rarity. "Well, put it on, so we can see how yah look. Then we can keep helpin' Fluttershy." Rarity picked up the necklace, which had Applejack's cutie mark on the medallion, with her magic and put it around her neck. Applejack couldn't help but let out a, "Wow" as she realized that her cutie mark around Rarity's neck, looked better then she ever imagined.

Rarity took a look at her marefriend and said, "Why thank you Applejack. It's beautiful. Now, that aside, let's get back to the matter of helping Fluttershy. It is her wedding day after all. It is very rude to take the attention from her on the day that everyone's attention should be on her."

"Righ'. We'll keep this on the down low for ya Fluttershy. Ya hear?" She agreed turning to Fluttershy.

"Oh. Thank you girls. But you don't have to do all that for me. I-I mean, if you don't want to." Replied Fluttershy shying away.

"Piss-Posh Fluttershy. It is like I said, this is your wedding day. This should all about you. We can wait until later to let everypony know. For now..." Rarity lifted up the medallion part of the necklace and slid it under her dress. "... I'll keep this hIdden as to not attract any more attention to it. Now, let's finish up. We do have a wedding to attend."

-----------------------

A while later, Rainbow Dash was standing at the alter, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her bride. When the last of the bride's maids got into position, the musicians changed the music from the peaceful background music to the orchestrated song, 'Here Comes the Bride'. Rainbow's hooves began to shake because she knew that she was about to see the one she loved most come through those doors, so that they can be together for the rest of their lives.

The wait was nerve racking. Rainbow Dash could hear her heart beating. Getting louder and louder as time went by when suddenly... the doors opened up and Fluttershy was in everyones view. "Wow" was all Rainbow could say when she saw Fluttershy, for the first time, in her wedding dress.

When the doors opened up, Fluttershy was able to see everyone she cared about. She saw everyone from, not only her family, but Rainbow's as well. She saw her many cousins, many of which she hasn't seen in years, she saw many of Rainbow's cousins, she got to see all of their aunts and uncles, she saw pictures to represent their Grand parents, none of which were alive to see this life-changing moment, she saw Rainbow's parents and finally, she saw her parents, both of them with proud smiles on their faces that said, 'That is my daughter. That! Is MY! Daughter. And that will never change.' She started to become very nervous, but the she noticed the one thing that could give her strength, courage and pride, Rainbow Dash. She was looking right at her mouthing the word 'Wow'. She found the courage she knew she would get by looking at her and began her path to the alter.

They stared deeply into each other's eyes wanting nothing more than to be together. As Fluttershy made her way to Rainbow Dash, the Cutie Mark Crusaders bounced in front of her dropping rose petals onto the white carpet of the isle. As they reached the end of the pathway, the Cutie Mark Crusaders dispersed to the sides to make way for the beautifully shy bride. Fluttershy walked until she was beside her handsomely dressed bride who only took her eyes off of her when she blinked. As Fluttershy got into her position, a regal figure began to descend from above. It was a white alicorn who shined as bright as the morning sunlight.

Fluttershy nearly fainted when she realized who was coming to pronounce them as mare and mare. "P-Princess Celestia?" She said softly to herself with a very surprised look upon her face. She pulled her head back down to look at her fiancé. Rainbow Dash was just looking at her, smiling because she was able to surprise her with something this amazing. Fluttershy's eyes began to tear-up from the amazing surprise that Rainbow planned for her, despite the fact that it was Celestia herself who had planned it. She just wanted to reach over and just give Rainbow the biggest, longest and most loving kiss that could ever be given, but she knew that she had to wait. So that's what she did.

Princess Celestia landed behind the two mares and began to great everyone. "Welcome, my little ponies, to the wedding of these two mares. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy." She proceeded with the rest of the ceremony.

After few minutes.

"If there is anyone who does not agree with the unity of these two, speak now or forever hold your peace." There was a short pause which seemed like an eternity for both Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. The voice of the regal princess ended the dreadful silence. "Now, do you, Fluttershy, take Rainbow Dash, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do you part?" She questioned said pony.

Fluttershy, still looking at the love of her life, continued to smile lovingly while simply replying, "I do." Her heart beating faster out of love.

The Princess nodded and continued. "Do you, Rainbow Dash, take Fluttershy, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do you part?"

Rainbow Dash, out of sheer joy, didn't hesitate a single second to reply to the Princess. "Oh, you bet I do!" She replied her heart pounding with love for Fluttershy.

Princess Celestia nodded and raised her head before she proclaimed, "Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you, mare and mare. You may now kiss the bride."

Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy gently leaned forward to enter the loving embrace which unified them together forever.

The crowd then rose and applauded the newly weds as the couple pulled away from their unifying embrace. Then came the wedding reception and, with the help of Pinkie Pie and Rarity, they had the most amazing reception since the wedding of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. For their first dance as mare and mare, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash pulled out this amazingly complex dance number to a song that they put together themselves. With Rainbow Dash being an extreme athlete and Fluttershy knowing who knows what in her "bag o' tricks". Using their wings to their advantage, they were able to pull off dance move which were sought out as impossible to the most professional dancers. But with the elegance of Fluttershy and the awesomeness of Rainbow Dash, they made it possible.

They started in each others hooves in preparation of the dance. When the music started they began swaying along to the slow music. They then pulled up into the air making there slow dance on the ground become a slow aerial routine. Then it became more complicated as Rainbow spun Fluttershy around so that they were facing the same direction. Normally, this would be impossible as the one that was spun around would not be able to flap their wing, but with Rainbows athletic strength and Fluttershy's lighter weight, Rainbow was able to easily, steadily, and gracefully fly for both of them as they continued to sway in their new position. Then, when the music sped up slightly, Rainbow proceeded to spin Fluttershy away from her. When that happened, Fluttershy spread her wings so that as she spun away, she would slowly glide to the floor spinning. Rainbow lowered herself accordingly along with the descent of Fluttershy. When they reached the ground Fluttershy took quick light steps back to Rainbow Dash. When she reached Rainbow, her wife spread her wings up high and wide and stepped along side Fluttershy creating a more angelic look to Fluttershy. After a quick second Flutter spun to face upward as she began to fall to the ground which at that point caught her and kept her from hitting the floor as they continued to step quickly. When they stopped Rainbow tossed up Fluttershy into the air to which she opened up her wings and kept herself up in the air. She then proceeded to spin herself as she were a floating ballerina. Rainbow seemed to mirror Fluttershy from the ground as she spun around like her wife above her. The then proceeded to step quickly in the direction they stepped from before pirouetting every few steps completely in synchronicity with each other. Rainbow stopped a few steps before Fluttershy. Rainbow them began to fly up as Fluttershy let herself drop into the arms of her ascending wife. Rainbow caught Fluttershy and proceeded to fly upwards in a smooth manor. After rising a few feet Rainbow and Fluttershy broke apart from each other and proceeded into a backwards descent. They both then completed their sort of backflip and proceeded to fly toward each other at a fairly quick speed. When it seemed like they were about to crash they swerved and reached out a hoof to each other. They both grab on and remained in the air as the spun vertically at the point where their hooves met creating a display of a large blue and yellow circle with a pink and rainbow outline. They then broke apart and made their way to the floor to which they both landed on their hooves a good 25 feet away from each other. They then stepped quickly towards each other. Nearly colliding, they slow down to slow walk around each other with a single hoof softly on the other's cheek. When they stopped walking Rainbow pulled in Fluttershy into their original starting position with the same swaying motion as before and just before the song ended they entered into a long loving kiss which signaled the end of their first dance together as a married couple.

When they finished their dance routine, the crowd applauded and cheer for the most amazing and the most beautiful performance they have ever witnessed in their lives. After the applause died down and everypony in the crowd dispersed to their appropriate tables Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy searched the tables for their parents and they found them doing what seemed like what was going to be impossible for them to ever do. But their, at the same table, were the parents of both mares laughing talking and having a good time in each other's presence.

Before the wedding had occurred the couple went to visit both parents as a couple to personally invite them to the wedding. They only wished that it went better then it had.

--------------------

Three months ago:

They first went to the home of Fluttershy's parents. Rainbow held her marefriend's hoof as they knocked the door and waited for somepony to answer.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The two of them waited patiently, hoof in hoof, when the door began to open. When the door was completely opened, the couple were able to see a large, muscular, light-brown pegasus stallion with a crimson red mane and close to his side was a light-blue pegasus mare with a mane as white as the winter's snow.

"Fluttershy, my little girl! How are you? You haven't come for a visit in a really long time. To busy with your animals to come visit your parents every now and then?" The stallion greeted his daughter with a loving hug.

"Hi, Daddy. I'm sorry I wasn't able to visit you. We were actually busy saving Equestria from evil." Fluttershy said returning the hug she was receiving from her father.

When they released each other from the welcoming embrace, Fluttershy's mother replied, "I hope you didn't get hurt."

"I'm fine Mom. Really, I am." She replied to her caring mother while being released from the embrace with her father. She took a step back to stand next to her marefriend before continuing, "Mommy, Daddy, I'd like you to meet Rainbow Dash."

"Ahh! So this is the famous Rainbow Dash we've been hearing about since you were a filly, huh?" The light-brown stallion turned his attention to Rainbow Dash. "Well, it's very nice to actually meet you." He extended his hoof forward to greet the cyan mare in a hoof shake. She quickly returned the gesture as the stallion continued. "I'm Crimson Angel and this is my wife, Snow Fall." He gestured to the mare standing beside him.

"It's very nice to meet you."

"It's great meeting you, too. Um, may we come inside? There's something we'd like to talk to you about." She asked before the conversation became any longer.

After a quick glance at each other, the to lovers moved to the side to allow their daughter and her friend pass through.

After they entered, Rainbow Dash followed Fluttershy to the living room. They sat together on the love seat as the married couple entered and sat on the couch before them.

"So what did you want to talk to us about?" The lovely blue mother asked.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash shared a quick glance with each other before Fluttershy spoke. "Um, Mommy. Daddy. I-I'm getting married." She said, her heart pounding for fear of what her parents may say... or do.

Fluttershy's parents were very surprised. Her father, eyes wide and mouth in a shocked frown, nearly collapsed and fainted while her mother was putting a hoof over her smiling mouth as she gasped for air and jumping back a little before saying, "Oh, congratulations! Oh my little Flutters is growing up so fast. Next thing you know, you're gonna have a foal or two of your very own."

Her father decided to get straight to the point. "So who's the lucky stallion?" He asked not knowing of Rainbow Dash's actual reason for being there.

"A-Actually... it's not a stallion." Rainbow Dash answered for Fluttershy as she rubbed the back of her neck with her hoof.

The stallion's expression changed from shock to a perturbed look with the added look of worry as he asked Rainbow Dash, "What do you mean 'Not a stallion'?"

Rainbow Dash recoiled a bit at the stallion's change of tone. Fluttershy then spoke up, grabbing Rainbow's hooves with her own. "I'm going to marry Rainbow Dash."

Fluttershy's mother changed her smile to a frown behind her hoof as her father remain silent in shock and rage. They all stayed silent and motionless for what seemed like an eternity until Fluttershy's father got up from where he was sitting and left the room. After a moment, they heard the front door open and slam shut. Which wasn't very loud, considering it was made out of clouds.

They looked to the door expecting to find any sign of the stallion. Then Fluttershy's mother began to talk. "You know, despite what your father may think or say, I've kinda always know you had a crush on Rainbow Dash. I've known ever sense you came back from your first week of Flight Camp. You wouldn't stop talking about 'Rainbow Dash this' and 'Rainbow Dash that'. You Father knew about it too but he just trying to deny it. You know, he's not exactly mad at the fact that you're...well... you know... fillyfoolers. He's just mad that he was wrong about you."

"So what do we do? We wanted to come and tell you about the marriage and to try and get your blessings but it looks like that second part ain't gonna happen." Replied Rainbow Dash beginning to become crest fallen.

Snow Fall looked to the couple and said, "Well, you have my blessing. And as for Crimson Angel, just let me talk to him. When he's ready I'll take him to come talk to you. I assume you two living together, right?"

Rainbow Dash felt a wave of relief pass through her as those words left Snow Fall's mouth. Fluttershy's heart also lightened up as she said, "Um, yes. Sh-She moved into the cottage with me. She sold her cloud house just so she won't have to worry about it. It was a nice home too, but I just couldn't leave my animals alone."

"Alright. Then we'll visit you at your cottage soon. Oh, and Rainbow Dash... Treat my daughter well." Snow Fall told Rainbow with a stern look on her face.

Rainbow just gazed into the light-blue pegasus' eyes out of happiness and said, "Th-Thank you Mrs. Fall. Thank you. And I promise that I'll do my best to protect Fluttershy. Shoot, I'll Pinkie Promise that! Cross my heart. Hope to fly. Stick a cupcake in my eye." She said with the correct hand movements to accompany it.

Snow Fall just stared at her wondering what the cyan mare was doing. 'That is and odd pony. But if my Fluttershy is in love with her, than I can't hold it against them.' She thought to herself. "Thank you Rainbow Dash, that was very..." She paused looking for the right word. "entertaining."

They then said their good byes, leaving an invitation to the up-coming wedding, and left to begin the trip to the homes of Rainbow Dash's parents.

-------------------------

After a good ten minutes of flying, the couple had arrived at Rainbow Dash's childhood home. Rainbow Dash let out a deep breath and stood straight up with a look of determination on her face before knocking on the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Rainbow gulped as she lowered her hoof and had begun trembling as she took a step back, away from the door. Fluttershy took notice of this, so she pressed up against the cyan mare and nuzzled her neck to calm her marefriend into a more easy going state. When she nuzzled her back, Fluttershy knew that she was already feeling better, so she decided to pull out of the nuzzle before the door opened. As if on cue, the door began to open and revealed a red pegasus stallion with an orange, yellow and red mane. 'Looks like Dashie gets her mane from her mom and the other half from her dad.' Fluttershy thought to herself.

The stallion look at the couple before him for a moment before his eye widened. "Rainbow? Is that you, Rainbow?" Questioned the stallion. He took a step closer to the rainbow maned pegasus.

Rainbow's face began to blush, remembering how little she sent a letter to him as she replied, "Yeah dad. It's me."

The stallion envelop his daughter in a long, over-due hug. "I haven't seen you in years you silly filly! What? To busy being a Wonderbolt to come and see your old pony?" He joked pulling away from the hug.

Rainbow Dash rolled her eye and replied, "Dad. I'm not a Wonderbolt yet. I actually came here to tell you something. Now, are you gonna let us in or do I have to FIGHT my way in?" She now was in a fighting stance ready to take on her father, if he accepted the challenge.

The stallion got into his own fighting position preparing himself for an attack from his daughter. "I'd like to see you try." He taunted.

Rainbow launched herself into her father and they both fell to the floor of the cloud house. Manes in a mess of hues, they two pegasi wrestled each other, neither of them able to over power the other. After a well fought minute, they got up off the floor, shard a laugh and hug each other again.

"You've still got it, dad." She said breaking away from their playful embrace.

"I'm not as young as I use to be. I use to be able to easily over power you. But enough about that, I see you brought a friend." He said, now turning his attention toward Fluttershy. "Hi. I'm Blaze Burner."

Fluttershy, cowering a bit from the brief fight, jumped back a little at the self-introduction made by the stallion before looking away and shyly saying, "M-My name is..." She quickly paused before nearly inaudibly mumbling, "Fluttershy."

"I'm sorry. Would you mind speaking up?"

Fluttershy stayed silent as she hid behind her mane. Rainbow Dash took note of this and cantered over to her side to comfort her before saying, "Dad, this is Fluttershy."

Blaze Burner looked from his daughter to the mare standing next to her, a surprised smile plastered upon his face as he said, "Ooh. So THIS is the pony you kept writing about in your letters back when you were in flight school. I must say that it's very nice to finally meet you." He turned his attention back to his daughter. "So what, she your marefriend or something? I must say, you've got an eye for the cute ones." He said jokingly.

"A-Actually dad..." She stuttered.

Blaze Burner stood their, staring at the two mares. He began to turn around and walk further into his house than said, "I think you two better come inside. It looks like we have some things to talk about."

The couple did just that, following the stallion into the depths of his home.

-----------------------------------------

"So let me get this straight. YOU TWO... are getting married in THREE MONTHS... and you're telling me this NOW. Did I miss something?" He questioned the mares.

Both of them stayed silent as they nodded their heads in acknowledgment.

Blaze then leaned back in his seat, threw his hoof up into the air and happily said, "Great! Is their any way I can help pay for the wedding. Maybe I can pay for your dresses."

The two mares couldn't help but look at each other in shock. Rainbow then looked towards her father and asked, "A-Are you serious?"

Blaze Burner looked at the two mares for a second then looked at the coffee table between them and said, "Well, yeah! You're my daughter, which means that I will love you, no matter what you do with your life. Plus, I knew you had a little crush on her since you were a filly."

"D-Dad..." Rainbow retorted, now embarrassed and blushing a bright red.

Blaze Burner cut her off. "Now don't you try and go denying it! You're freaking marrying that filly!" He gestured a towards Fluttershy as he spoke. "If that ain't love, I don't know what is."

Fluttershy giggled as she looked at Rainbow Dash with a loving stare. When Rainbow Dash looked back to see Fluttershy staring at her, she smiled and just stared back at her. After a while of lingering in each other's gaze, Fluttershy shifted her focus to the stallion watching them silently and said, "Th-Thank you for your offer. We will defiantly let you know if, o-or when, we need it."

Than Rainbow cut in again and finally decided to get to the second reason they were there. "There is one thing though." She started. "We not only came here to invite you to the wedding but also... to get your blessing." She said nervously.

Blaze Burner just looked at his daughter and laughed before saying, "Dashie. Of course you have my blessing! Weren't you listening to our conversation just now?!" He paused to take a breath and laugh. "I'll be there. I'll be the one standing saying to the pony next to me 'That's my girl! That's my Dashie!'... Well, her Dashie."

Rainbow Dash, moved by what her father said, walked to him and pulled him into a thankful hug, then said, "Thank you, Daddy. I love you."

"I love you two, Dashie."

They all then said their good-byes and the couple left the house with a warm feeling covering both of their hearts. But now they had one last house to go to and something about it made Fluttershy very nervous. Even by Fluttershy's standards.

------------------------------

As the two pegasi saw their objective in sight. They began to descend at a steady pace. As they arrived at the home, their descent had brought them to meet with the front door of the porch allowing them to get a good look at the home. It wasn't a very big home but they figured that there was only one pony living there. Despite the small size of the home, it was still well maintained. The cloud walls were the purest of white and the windows shined in the late light of the sun, which was beginning to fall past the horizon.

"It'll be night soon." Fluttershy said, breaking the long silence which drafted over them as they flew.

Rainbow Dash, with her head hunched over, took a deep breath, then said, "I just want to get this one over with."

Fluttershy noticed this and pressed her side toward Rainbow's as she concernedly asked, "Dashie, what's wrong?"

Dash remained looking at the ground and answered, "Let's just say, I didn't have the best mom ever." She paused to take a deep breath and lifted her head before continuing. "Alright. Let's get this over with." She then stepped forward, raised her hoof and knocked the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

After a shortly waited minute, the door swung open, reviling an older cyan blue mare pegasus with a green, blue and violet mane.

'Yup! I was right! Half her mom's, half her dad's.' Fluttershy thought to herself, realizing her hypothesis was correct.

The older cyan pegasus began to look at the couple when she stopped suddenly on Rainbow Dash, a look of fear and sadness now on the older mare's face. "R-Rainbow Dash?" She stuttered. The mare raised her hoof over her mouth and began to let tears run down her face. "Rainbow Dash." She let out a sob. "I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry. I didn't mean to leave you. I... I just..."

"You just left! You just left me there! On the train!" Rainbow Dash interrupted.

The mare jumped back and said, "I was gonna come back..."

"You didn't even look for me! I saw you on the station! You looked back at me, turned around and you just... left!" Rainbow was looking downwards, starting to cry. "You just left... And you never came back."

"But I did come looking for you. I had to leave you. I told your father to pick you up at the next train station. I couldn't let you see what I was about to do." She stopped to wipe tears away from her face. "I was in a lot of trouble, Rainbow Dash."

Dash's expression became more angry, turning away from her mother. "Yeah. Trouble. What kind of trouble makes you abandon a helpless filly on a train, all by herself?!"

The mare started to turn into her home but stopped half way to say, "I think you should come inside."

The two mares did as asked and followed the older pegasus into the depths of the home. They were lead to the living room where the couple, once again, sat in the love seat as the older mare sat across from them on the couch.

She finally noticed the shy and quiet pony and decided to introduce herself. "Oh. Well hello. Rainbow, I didn't know she was with you. Um, my name's Winter Breeze."

Fluttershy began to hide behind her mane as she nearly whispered, "My name is Fluttershy."

Winter Breeze sat up suddenly as she spoke out of shock. "Fluttershy?" She smiled. "Looks like you found your old friend Rainbow."

Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy as she said, "Yeah. I was lucky to find her." She stopped herself from kissing Fluttershy and turned to her mother to ask, "So what kind of trouble were you talking about?"

Winter Breeze turned her head away from the couple before confessing, "I was one of Cloudsdale's most wanted. The day that I left you on the train... was the day I turned myself in. I just wanted to spend my last moments of freedom with you. I'm sorry I had to leave you, but I didn't want you to see what I was gonna do. I'm sorry." Tears began to run down her face once again.

Rainbow Dash remained in shock from what her mother had told her. "W-What were you wanted for?" She asked in a worried tone, leaning forward in her seat.

The look on Breeze's face changed from one of sadness to one of fear for a moment before she went back to drenching her face in tears. "I-I... I was part of a gang. We did the dumbest things." She sniffled. "We gambled, we stole, we did drugs, but they worst thing we've ever done... nearly killed you." Rainbow froze from what her mother said. "We were in a gang war, fighting over territory. I was leaving the house and I was telling you to stay with your father. But you were to much like me... a rebel. I should have known you would follow me."

"I-I remember." Rainbow stared blankly at her hooves as she recalled the near tragic memory.

Breeze looked up at her daughter, face drenched in tears and mouth open unable to let out the word which caught in her throat. Full of emotions, she pulled her head back down and let out a few more tears. "I... I got mixed... up with the wr... wrong crowd." She let out a sob. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you Rainbow Dash. But I promise, that from now on, for as long as I live, I will always be there for you. No matter what you do."

Rainbow lifted her head to look at her mother. Tears shooting down her face she stared at her worriedly and let out a sob filled, "Mom." She jumped out of her seat and lunged towards her mother. She had embraced her mother in a hug. For the first time in years, Rainbow was finally back in the arms of her mother, both unable to stop the tears from poring down their faces. "I missed you so much."

Breeze broke away from the embrace after a few minutes of staying in each other's arms and wiped away the tears from her face before declaring, "Alright. I think it's time I heard why you came here in the first place."

Rainbow then got up, wiped the tears from her face and sat back down on the love seat with Fluttershy. "Right. Well, Mom, I'm getting married." She admitted to her mother.

Winter Breeze's smile grew wider as she heard the news and asked, "Oh! Congratulations! Who's your special somepony? Is it someone I know?"

Rainbow then shyly grabbed Fluttershy's hoof and blushed. "Yeah. They're not far away."

Breeze smiled and lightly laughed to herself before saying, "Considering what you told me about her when you two were fillies, it would be an honor to have her join our family."

The couple both smiled widely before Fluttershy said, "Oh thank you, Miss Breeze."

Winter Breeze smiled at Fluttershy and replied, "Oh. Dear, you don't have to call me 'Miss'. Just call me Breeze."

"Alright... Breeze" Fluttershy laughed to herself.

Breeze then looked at both of them and said, "Now, I know I don't have much, but if there's any way I can help, please let me know."

"Mom." Rainbow started saying crying tears of joy. She walked over and, once again, hugged her deeply. "Thank you."

They remained in their embrace for a few minutes before Dash was able to pull herself together. "Alright, as much as I'd love to stay and catch up on all those years but it's about time Fluttershy and I get going." She said getting up off of her mom.

"I understand. Please, take care you two." She said as the couple began to leave.

However, Rainbow stopped before she left and turned her head to tell her mom one last thing. "Mom? Dad still lives at our old home. I'd think he'd like to talk to you."

"H-he..." Breeze spoke before she stopped and let a smile cross her face. She sighed. "Thank you Rainbow. I'll be sure to see him soon."

"I love you Mom." Rainbow said as she made her way out.

"I love you to Rainbow Dash." She replied just before said pony left. She looked at a picture she had on her wall of her, Blaze Burner and Rainbow Dash as happy as a family could be. She sighed and a tear ran down her face as she replied, "...My little rainbow..."

Back at the wedding:

By the end of the festivities everypony had their chance to dance, eat some cake, congratulate the newly weds, wish them the best of luck and mingle with the other guests.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were finally married and it seemed to them as if the road ahead would have no problems they couldn't face together. But what they didn't know was that their greatest challenge was yet to come.

Chapter 5

"Fluttershy, you know that's not possible. How would that even work, anyways? Besides, it can either be mine or the your's, not both of ours."

"But Dashie, I want it to be both of ours. I don't want either of us to feel left out."

"I know Fluttershy and you know that I want this just as bad as you do, but there's no way it can happen. It's impossible."

It has been two years sense their wedding. Fluttershy had just suggested that they both do something together that was seemingly impossible.

Fluttershy had began to cry in correlation with her wife's response. Rainbow noticed this and came up with a quick compromise to make Fluttershy happy. "Oh, come on Fluttershy, please don't cry. You know it kills me to see you cry. ...Tell ya what. We can go talk to Twilight tomorrow. She might know something about a way to make it possible. Alright?" She suggested in a very sincere voice.

Fluttershy looked up at her wife with tear-filled eyes that was starting to lighten up, nodded with a smile and hugged her wife. "Thank you Dashie."

Rainbow hugged her back, helped her off of the ground and said, "Come on. It's late. We should get some rest if we plan to talk to Twilight tomorrow. You know how she can be, once you get her talking, she won't stop." She finished with an amused smile, looking at Fluttershy.

Fluttershy giggled a little before she placed a kiss on Rainbow's cheek.

In retaliation, Rainbow turned her head and returned Fluttershy's kiss with a prolonged kiss on her lips. After they broke apart from the kiss they then walked upstairs and into bed, Fluttershy leaning on Dash's shoulder.

------------------------

The next morning, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash went to go talk to their friend Twilight to see if she would be able to help with their predicament. The door to the library opened to revile the little purple dragon, Spike, who greeted them. "Oh. Hey Rainbow Dash. Hey Fluttershy. You two here to meet Twilight?"

Rainbow replied to the question. "Yeah. She here?"

"Yeah. Come on in." He replied, moving out of the door way to make enough space for the couple to enter.

"Spike! Who is it? Oh! Hello girls. What brings you here ?" Twilight said coming out of her room and down the stairs to meet the two mares.

Rainbow looked at her wife before tuning back to their friend and replied, "Well Princess," Rainbow started jokingly. "Fluttershy and I... We want to have a foal and we were wondering if there was anything you know that would let the kid have me AND Fluttershy be its moms?"

Twilight smiled at the news of them planning to have a foal. She replied, "Well, first off, let me congratulate you two on making the decision on having a foal. That's not an easy decision to come to. Second, I'm sorry to say that I don't know any way to have even the slightest chance of both of you being the biological parents."

"But WE do." Said the majestic voice of Princess Luna as she walked out of Twilight's room and made her way down the stairs and toward the small group of ponies.

"P-Princess Luna!" Said a surprised Fluttershy as both she and Rainbow Dash bowed to greet the Princess.

Luna accepted the greeting and said, "You may raise. We overheard what you were saying and we may have a solution that will grant you what you wish."

The couple stared at Luna in both surprise and happiness at what the Princess said. "A-Are you serious?" Asked Rainbow out of disbelief, letting a wide grin of joy etch its way on to her face.

"We are most certainly serious. There is a fountain of sorts that grants wishes. If your hearts are pure and your spirits are true, your wish shall be granted."

Rainbow Dash nearly fainted at the pure amount of joy that she had while Fluttershy's joy froze her in place. Twilight looked towards her marefriend in disbelief. "Why didn't I know about this? I've read everything in here and in the Canterlot library and I've never read anything about a wish granting fountain. That's something straight out of a children's book."

Luna looked at Twilight and replied, "That's because any written document about that fountain was sealed away and hidden within the castle. If that information were released into the public, we fear many ponies would abuse it's power."

"Then why are you telling us?" Rainbow asked breaking out of her trance.

Luna just smiled and said, "Well, first, you are the bearers of the elements of loyalty and kindness. That alone not only makes you reliable with knowledge such as this, but also puts us in your dept. Let's just call it, 'repaying the favor'. Second, we know who you are and we know that you won't abuse the power of this fountain. You two are very trustworthy ponies. You, Rainbow Dash would go far out of your way to help others. While you Fluttershy like to believe there is good in every living creature and kindness spread to those around you. Third, we have heard your wish and believe that you will do whatever it takes to have this wish come true. You would go to all the ends of this world in order to complete this task. Finally, Twily-bear might reward me for being so generous and helping a couple of her best friends." Luna smiled at her mare friend who was looking at her with an annoyed smile that told her, 'Really? It couldn't just be from the goodness of your heart?'. Luna continued, "So for that, we shall bestow on you a choice. If you accept, we will give you a map that will show you the path you will need to take to arrive at this fountain, but be warned, the path to the fountain is a very dangerous one and your will, courage and faith will be tested. If you decline the offer, you will never again be able to receive the map to the fountain, leaving you to continue your nearly hopeless struggle in finding a way to have this child. So... do you accept?"

Rainbow and Fluttershy turned their heads to look at each other. They stayed like that for a few seconds before Rainbow broke the silence by asking, "Fluttershy. What do you think? It seems like this is gonna be dangerous and I don't want you to get hurt. So I'm leaving up to you. If you want, we'll go together. And if not, we'll just find some other way. We won't let this stop us. So what do ya say?"

Fluttershy stared into the deep crimson eyes of her mare and felt a rush of pride and loyalty come from them. She turned to face the Princess with her answer. "We're going." She said with the up most confidence. "I-I know it's going to be scary and that it's very dangerous, but if I'm with Rainbow, then I know we'll get through it together. Whether it's manticores, dragons, hydras, or even a gigantic lizard thing, we'll get through it no matter what."

"Fluttershy... are you sure?" Asked Rainbow, not believing what she heard come out of her wife's mouth.

Fluttershy continued looking forward and put on a, rarely seen, brave face. "Yes. I'm sure. If we don't try to do this, we may never get the chance to have our baby. We're doing this."

"Fluttershy..." Rainbow said softly before becoming serious. "Hmph. Awesome! So when do we start, Princess?" Rainbow asked as she fought the urge to envelope Fluttershy in a hug and smoother her with kisses for her bravery, as she tried to play it cool.

"You shall start when we arrive back from Canterlot." Princess Luna began to say. "We have a small amount of business to attend to and you will need a map that we hold secret within the castle. We shall return within a week's time. I advised you to use this time to prepare yourselves. As we said, this journey is not only long but dangerous as well. One does not know what dangers lay within the Everfree Forest."

With that said Luna took her leave and teleported to the Royal Castle in Canterlot. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash also thought that they should get going, so they thanked Twilight for her help, said their good byes and walked back to their cottage.

--------------------

When they arrived at the cottage, Fluttershy got to work doing her chores while Rainbow read one of her Daring Do books to get some "survival tip"... and to find out what happens to the brave adventurer.

"Mom?!" Came a familiar voice from a room upstairs.

"I'm on the couch hun!" Replied Rainbow Dash, temporarily taking her eyes off the page to look at the stairs. The sound of hoof steps walking down the stairs kept Rainbow waiting for the voice from upstairs.

"Mom!" Exclaimed Scootaloo as she appeared from the stairs.

------------------

Rainbow Dash was out buying groceries in town while Fluttershy stayed home taking care of the animals that visited their cottage.

Rainbow was finished getting all the groceries on her grocery list -with a couple extra snacks- and was heading home. However, on her way back she noticed a certain orange filly looking exhausted, hungry and worn out walking into one of the few allies in PonyVille. Almost nopony goes into the allies, which made Rainbow Dash wonder what a little filly would be doing walking into an ally so she followed her.

What she saw when she walked in there was an image she would never forget. Rainbow Dash saw a scooter placed up against the wall of the ally behind a beat up cardboard box. However, when she looked closer to the box she saw that it was on its side as if someone had tipped it over and there was something coming out of them. It was a small purple tail. It was Scootaloo's tale.

Hundreds of thoughts ran through Rainbow's head all at once. 'What's Scootaloo doing here?' 'Why is she in a box?' 'Is she sleeping here?' Rainbow couldn't handle any more of the questions so she walked up to the box slowly and laid herself next to it so that she can look directly into the box. Inside she saw Scootaloo laying down under a newspaper blanket and resting on a backpack pillow shivering and... crying?

Rainbow couldn't stand to see her like this. She reached into her saddlebag, which is what she was carrying the groceries in, and pulled out an apple. She then gently rolled the apple to the shivering filly who jumped as she felt the apple touch her back.

The little filly tuned around to see what had hit her but was instead met with a very concerned looking Rainbow Dash. "R-R-R-Rainbow Dash?! H-H-How did you find me?" Asked a very scared Scootaloo now shaking even more.

A very gentle and caring Rainbow Dash said, "I saw you walk in here and I followed you. Scootaloo? How long have you been living like this?"

"A-About a year now. I-I'm not sure. I can't remember. I-It was so long ago." Replied Scootaloo now on the verge of tears. However, she didn't have any strength to hold any tears back, so she just cried into her hooves, unable to do anything else.

Rainbow scooted over to lay next to Scootaloo and wrapped a wing around her. Not thinking at all, Rainbow let her emotions take control of her. "It's okay Scootaloo. It's okay. Everything's gonna be better from now on, okay?" A gentle, near motherly Rainbow Dash said.

"H-H-H-H-H-How... is everything... gonna... gonna... be... alright?" Asked Scootaloo between sobs.

"Because you're not going to live like this any longer. Come on, let's take you home." Rainbow Dash nuzzled Scootaloo before motioning to her to hop onto her back.

When Scootaloo got on Rainbow's back, Rainbow went around and collected everything that the little filly had with her which just turned out to be a back pack, her saddlebag and her scooter. After Rainbow had all of Scootaloo's things, she opened up her wings, took off into the air and flew them back to her cottage.

----------------

Fluttershy was busy washing the dishes that Rainbow had promised to wash that morning when she heard the door open and close. "Dashie? Are you home?" She asked walking into the living room.

She stopped in her tracks when she saw her wife carrying a still crying Scootaloo on her back. Rainbow then place Scootaloo gently onto the couch before walking up to her wife and giving her a quick hello kiss. "Hey 'Shy. Listen..." Rainbow proceeded to tell Fluttershy about how she followed Scootaloo into the ally that she was living in, if you could call that living. She also told her about their brief conversation. "...and so I brought her here." Rainbow glanced back at Scootaloo who had fallen asleep when she stopped crying. "I want her to stay with us for a while. She deserves better then sleeping in a cardboard box."

"Dashie... why would she run away from her parents?"

"The orphanage." Rainbow corrected her wife.

"Orphanage?"

"She was living in the PonyVille orphanage. But I don't know why she would run away." Replied Rainbow Dash now looking at the ground.

"Dashie, you know we have to take her back."

"No. We can't." Retorted Rainbow Dash sternly. "If we take her back all she's gonna do is run away again."

"But this is technically foalnapping." Fluttershy said with obvious fear in her voice.

"Not if we adopt her."

After that Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash argued and debated about adopting Scootaloo. Though neither of them had gotten angry or even yelled at each other, the arguments were still very strong. So strong that they sought out help from their friends to see whether or not they should adopt poor Scootaloo. Within a weeks time, they came up with their decision.

When Scootaloo got woke up that morning, in the bed that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had prepared for her, she was greeted by a familiar friend at the door.

"It's about time you got up! Come on, breakfast is waiting!" Rainbow Dash, who had leaned on the door frame, gestured for the orange filly to head to the kitchen.

"Good morning to you too, Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo said sarcastically.

"Oh I'm sorry. Did you say that you DON'T want your chocolate chip pancakes? Oh well. More for me." Rainbow said jokingly, walking out of the room.

"No! Wait!" Scootaloo hurried out of bed and made a dash for the kitchen only to stop next to Rainbow Dash and give her a quick hug. "Thank you." She then let go of Rainbow Dash and continued her sprint into the kitchen.

When she reached the kitchen, she slowed down enough to literally hop into her seat. "Oh. Good morning Scootaloo." She was greeted by the gentle voice of Fluttershy who had turned her head away from the stove to see who had ran into the kitchen.

"Good morning Fluttershy." Scootaloo paused for a moment. "You know, I'm still not used to saying that."

"You're not the only one squirt." Rainbow Dash said walking into the kitchen towards her wife. She gave the cooking mare a quick kiss on the cheek followed by, "Good morning beautiful."

"Good morning Dashie." Fluttershy turned and returned Rainbow's kiss on the cheek with a kiss on the lips. This elected a few giggles from their young spectator.

"Well, I'm glad someone's happy." Rainbow Dash joked. She walked over to the table and took a seat near Scootaloo. "Hey, squirt, me and Fluttershy over there have a surprise for you."

"Really?! A suprise?! For me?! Where is it?! What is it?! Did you get me a pony?!" Scootaloo asked excitedly.

"Did we get you a...? Scootaloo, you are a pony." Rainbow corrected said filly.

"Oh. Right." Scootaloo let out a small laugh as she smiled out of embarrassment. "So, what did you get me?"

"You're just gonna have ta wait 'till after breakfast. Besides, it's not here. It's like near the middle of town." Rainbow said grinning the whole time.

"Oh. Okay."

And so she waited.

-----------------

After breakfast, as promised, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy took Scootaloo into town. Scootaloo was buzzing her wings in extreme excitement. However, this excitement didn't last.

As they were reaching their destination, Scootaloo noticed something familiar about it. Like she had seen it before and she didn't like it. Then it hit her. It was the PonyVille orphanage and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were heading right to it.

"W-W-Why are we going there?" Scootaloo said scared out of her wits.

"Scootaloo..." Rainbow looked directly at Scootaloo. "Scootaloo, I need you to trust us. Can you do that?"

"B...Bu-But... why are you taking me THERE?!" Scootaloo asked, crying from fear of abandonment.

"Do you trust us Scootaloo?" Asked Rainbow Dash with a face of pure loyalty.

"I-I.. I do but-"

"Then you have nothing to be afraid of." Interupted Fluttershy. Seeing where her wife was going with this she decided to not be left out.

"Come on. Let's keep going." Rainbow said getting up from her seated position on the ground. "The sooner we get there the sooner we get done."

With that said Scootaloo calmed down, wiped away her tears and continued the walk with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, staying in between the to in seek of comfort.

When they arrived at the orphanage they went inside and talked to the pony in charge of the orphanage. Needless to say, she took one look at Scootaloo and thought she was seeing a ghost. Being gone for a year everyone at the orphanage thought Scootaloo was alive. It seemed the only thing that calmed her down was Rainbow's explanation of how she had found Scootaloo in an ally.

"Oh, you poor thing. Why didn't you just come back if you were living like that?" The Care-Taker asked with the most sincere voice she could muster.

Scootaloo didn't reply. Her only reaction was moving behind Rainbow Dash and shake as she kept herself from crying.

Rainbow Dash broke the silence. "Anyways, Ms..."

"Foster. Foster Care." Replied the Care-Taker.

"Well, Ms. Foster, me and my wife, Fluttershy, would actually like to adopt Scootaloo." Scootaloo's ears perked up at this and her shaking stopped when she heard what she had said.

"Y-You mean..." Scootaloo tried saying.

"That's right hunny. We came here so that we can adopt you." Replied Fluttershy who lowered herself to be at level with Scootaloo.

"There is no way in Equestria that we were gonna leave you! How else are we gonna get Fluttershy to keep making her delicious pancakes?" Added the rainbow maned athlete.

"So you're... You're really..." She got the answers to all of her questions by the looks Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash had on their faces. "Oh..." She pulled both of them into a hug and started crying. "Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou, thank you."

"I'll just go grab the paperwork." Ms. Foster said as she left the soon-to-be family to go grab the necessary paperwork.

And they've been a family ever sense.

-----------------

About a year after the adoption.

"Mom!"

Scootaloo ran to her mom and leaped into her hooves. "Where were you this morning?" Questioned the distraught filly.

"I'm sorry Scoots. Me and your mom had to go talk to Twilight about something important." Admitted Rainbow Dash in a motherly tone.

"What did you talk about?"

Just then, Fluttershy walked in through the door. "I think you should ask her." Rainbow whispered into the filly's ear.

"Mommy!" Scootaloo jumped out of the cyan mare's hooves, ran to her cream colored mother and hugged her.

"Hi, hunny." Flutteshy said returning the hug.

"Mommy? What did you talk to Twilight about?" Asked the small orange filly pulling away from the hug.

Fluttershy then looked at Rainbow with an expression that said 'You told her?'. Rainbow shrugged in reply. Fluttershy sighed before asking. "Hunny. How would you like a little brother or sister?"

Scootaloo's eyes widened with shock. "I...I'm going to be a...a big sister?" Fluttershy smiled in response. "Woohoo!" Scootaloo started bouncing around chanting "I'm gonna be a big sister! I'm gonna be a big sister! I'm gonna be a big sister!" Scootaloo then stopped suddenly and tried to act cool. "I mean, um, yeah, I'm gonna be a big sister. That's cool."

"Yeah, but there's something you need to know." Scootaloo looked at her cyan mom with a questioning expression. "You're gonna have to stay with your Grandpa for a while."

"Rainbow, did you even ask him..." Fluttershy was interupted.

"The old guys retired. He gets board all the time. He could use the company."

"Why do I have to stay with Grandpa? Are you going somewhere?" Questioned the confused filly.

"Well, for you to be a big sister, your me and your mom have to find something in the Everfree Forest. No big deal." Replied Rainbow Dash.

"Why can't I come?"

"It's the EVERFREE FOREST. It's dangerous in there."

"There's nothing in that forrest that I can't handle! Just give me 5 seconds with anything in that forrest and I'll make it go crying back to it's momma!" Came a rebuttal from the purple maned filly.

"I'm sure it would, but you're still not coming."

"But-"

"No 'but's!" Rainbow Dash interrupted. "Accept maybe this one." Then, as Fluttershy was walking passed them, Rainbow gave a playful slap on her wife's flank, electing a small "Eep!" from the shy mare. Rainbow and Scootaloo laughed about this as Fluttershy continued to make her way to the kitchen. "...but that one's all mine."

"Okay, okay. At least I have some news to share with the girls today."

"There you go! And isn't Babs suppose to be visiting today?"

"Oh yeah! Wow, is SHE gonna be supprised."

"Breakfast is ready." Came Fluttershy's voice from the kitchen.

"Well you better eat first. Come on, lets go see what your mom made for us this time." Suggested the rainbow maned pegasus.

------------------

After breakfast, Scootaloo ran off to go meet the other CutieMark Crusaders.

"Fluttershy, I'm gonna make a quick run to Cloudsdale and talk to my dad about this. Let him know what's going on and stuff." Rainbow told her wife.

"Okay Dashie. Be careful, okay?"

"I'll make sure of it." She shared a quick kiss with Fluttershy. "I love you."

"I love you too, Dashie." With that, the rainbow maned pegasus walked out the door and took off, leaving Fluttershy in the house alone. Fluttershy looked around her noticing the absence of both Angel and Tank. "Now where did those two get to.

A little ways away, Angel was napping on a tree in the middle of a race between him and tank while tank was crossing a finish. The cheering of animals woke up Angel alerting him of his loss. 'How is it that every time I race that turtle, he beats me?' Angel asked himself.

Chapter 6

A week went by and Twilight and Luna were waiting in the library they called home going over what Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy need for their dangerous quest.

"Luna, are you sure you have everything they need?" Asked a worrying Twilight.

"Yeees." Answered a less than enthusiastic Luna.

"Do you have the maps?"

"Yes."

"Do you have their compass?"

"Yes."

"Do you have their royal medallion?"

"Yes."

"Do you ha-"

"Yes." Interrupted Luna.

"Luna!"

"Yes?"

"Stop that!" Shouted a highly annoyed Twilight. "You know I don't like it when you interrupt me. Or when you repeat yourself."

Luna sighed, got up from her chair and walked over to Twilight. "We're sorry Twi-bear, but you've been asking us these questions sense we arrived home." She said as she hugged the stressed mare. "And you still have yet to reward us like you said you would.”

Twilight pulled away from the embrace with a blushed smile on her face. "You were the one who said that, Moon!" Retorted Twilight using the translated version of her marefriend's name.

"Aren't we brilliant?" Luna said jokingly.

Twilight laughed. "Fine. I'll reward you." With that Twilight got up and walked into the kitchen.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

While Twilight was still in the kitchen there was a knock at the door. Luna got up and answered it to find an expected guest. "Ah. It's you. Welcome. It's been far too long."

----------------------

"Fluttershy, are you sure we need all this? If I know Twilight she probably has all the stuff we need packed and ready for us to pick up." Argued an uncooperative Rainbow Dash carrying two heavy saddlebags. Both she and Fluttershy were in front of the cottage making sure they had everything they needed.

"Dashie, come on. It's not that heavy, is it?" Fluttershy tried to lift one of the saddlebags off of her wife but was unable to even raise it one inch higher than it was. "Oh my. Maybe we should leave one of them."

Immediately, Rainbow Dash released one of the saddlebags, literally taking a load off, moaning in relief. "Now this I can handle! Alright, let's only take what we need in this one so that you can carry it." Rainbow rummaged through the saddlebag on the ground throwing things out of the bag that seemed useless. "Don't need this, don’t need that... I don't even know why we have this..." This went on for about a minute before Rainbow put the lighter saddlebag onto her un-expecting wife, making her jump. "Relax. It's only the pony you trust most.”

"O-Oh." Fluttershy blushed from embarrassment. "W-Well... Is everything done? Do we have food?”

"Check."

"Water?"

"Check."

"First aid kit?"

"Che--" Rainbow stopped mid-word and quickly stuffed something into Fluttershy's saddlebag.

"Check."

"Are my animals gonna be looked after?"

"Applejack's lookin' after them."

"Is Scootaloo with your dad?"

"Yes!" Came a voice from behind the two of them. The two mares turned around to see who it was. It was Rainbow's dad and he had Scootaloo riding on his back. He walked up to them. "You two goin' through your final checklist?”

"Just about finished." Replied Rainbow Dash who gave her father a quick hug. "OH! I forgot to ask you this last time. Dad, did you talk to Mom yet?”

"Uh, yeah. Well, about that... she came over one day and... Well..." Replied a nervous Blaze Burner.

"Dad? Are you telling me that--?"

Blaze interrupted his daughter. "Yes."

"...And she's--?"

"Yup."

"...So you're--"

"That's right."

"...And she's gonna--" She pointed to Scootaloo.

"Surprise!" He said in a hushed yet cheerful tone. "She's waiting for us right now. Probably getting Scootaloo's room set-up or maybe baking a pie. Oh, I hope she's baking a pie." Blaze began to drool in the idea of eating one of Winter Breeze's delicious, home-made pies.

"Dad? Dad! And we lost him." Rainbow let out a sigh. "Oh Dad. You and you're food." Rainbow turned to the younger filly on his back. "Hey Scootaloo, were you listening?”

"I was trying to until you started speaking in some weird code. And is he gonna be alright?" Scootaloo asked poking his face.

"He'll be fine. Just give him a minute and he'll be back to normal. Anyways, long story short, you're gonna get to meet Grandma.”

"Wait, I have a Grandma? How come you've never told me about her?" Asked a surprised Scootaloo.

"Well, I only really have two memories of her. A good one and a bad one. I don't really know much about her except for the fact that she loves all of us." Replied Rainbow Dash who finished by looking directly into the eyes of Scootaloo. "Besides, if anything happens he'll be there too." She pointed to Blaze.

"I'll be where now?" Asked a confused Blaze.

"Welcome back Blaze. How was your trip to Pie-land?" Asked Fluttershy trying to join in on the conversation.

"Oh, ha-ha. I get it. Tease the only guy here." Blaze noticed all three of them staring at him and began to panic. "I... I don't like my odds here. I'm gonna leave before I say something I regret. Good bye girls. I'll see ya when you get back.”

Scootaloo reached out and hugged her moms starting with Rainbow Dash. "Bye Mom."

"Later Squirt." Rainbow hugged her back.

Scootaloo shifted over and hugged Fluttershy. "Bye Momma."

"Bye Hunny." Fluttershy hugged her back. "We'll be back in a few days, okay sweetie?"

"Okay. Just come back in one piece." Scootaloo replied. "I love you."

"We love you too, Scootaloo." The married couple returned.

"Take care dad." Rainbow hugged her father. Then she pulled away and gestured to Scootaloo.

"And make sure this one doesn't get into trouble."

"Hey!" Protested the little orange filly.

"Don't worry; she won't give me any trouble. I took care of you when you were little. How bad could she be compared to you?" Blaze said jokingly.

Rainbow laughed. "Bye Dad."

"Bye Rainbow."

Fluttershy came over and gave Blaze Burner a hug. "Good bye Blaze. Do take care.”

"Don't worry, Fluttershy. It's us who should be worried about you. So you take care. And make sure my daughter is safe," replied the older pegasus. "Alright. This 'Good-bye' is long enough. I'm off,” with that Blaze Burner and Scootaloo were off to Cloudsdale, leaving Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash by themselves.

"We should get going, too." Fluttershy suggested.

"Right." Rainbow agreed and they began walking to the PonyVille library.

------------------------

Twilight Sparkle exited the kitchen with a plate floating in her magic after finally finishing her task.

"Okay. Luna, here's your reward." Twilight levitated the plate over to a patiently waiting Luna who had been sitting at the table reading a book she pulled off one of the shelves. "As promised, one moon pie. Just the way you like it.”

Luna looked at the chocolaty, marshmallowy dessert in a completely elated state. She just stared at the moon pie as she seemingly tasted it with her eyes. She momentarily took her eyes off of the beautiful dessert to stare at the mare who created it. Luna found her equally, if not, more beautiful than the dessert itself and, without warning, pulled Twilight over to her in her magic and embraced her with a loving hug. "Oh. Twilight, we thank you greatly for the reward you have granted us. However, no matter how beautiful a treat you may create, it is nothing compared to your own beauty.”

Twilight accepted the hug, wrapped her legs around her midnight blue marefriend and let a blush cross her face. "Oh, Luna. Surly I'm not-“

Knock. Knock. Knock.

A knock at the door interrupted Twilight. "Oh! That must be Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy." The lavender mare said as she exited out of the embrace. "You enjoy your reward while I get the door." Twilight said as she walked away from her royal marefriend.

When Twilight reached the door she opened it using her magic. When the door opened Twilight was able to see her two pegasus friends. "Hello FlutterDash.”

"Urgh! You too?! Pinkie Pie's been telling everypony to call us that." Claimed Rainbow Dash in an annoyed tone.

"Oh Dashie. It's not that bad." Fluttershy reassured her.

Rainbow let out an aggravated breath before walking into the library and saying, "Whatever. So, where's Princess Lu-" After Rainbow walked into the library, she noticed Princess Luna wildly devouring a now disfigured moon pie.

Luna hadn't noticed the cyan mare until she finished her chaotic eating habit. When she did notice Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, who had joined her wife in her nearly unconscious stare, she froze in place. The embarrassment of somepony, besides Twilight, watching her eat like some sort of wild animal was so potent no one dared talk.

That is, except for Twilight. "So... You girls ready to start this adventure?" This statement brought everyone out of their statuesque state.

Rainbow was the first of the three to speak. "Uh... Uh... Yeah... We're here like you said."

Luna worked quickly to wipe off as many crumbs from her face as she could. "Ah yes. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, we believe that everything you would need is in..." Luna levitated a saddlebag over to the couple. "...here. We both thought of everything you might need on your trip. You are ready to head off on your quest. You do still wish to go, correct?"

Rainbow turned her head to look at Fluttershy. "It's still your call Shy'. We don't have to go if you're not ready."

Fluttershy nuzzled her wife's neck. "Thank you Dashie. I appreciate you looking out for me but..." Fluttershy suddenly took on a serious attitude. "...I still want us to go. Nothing will stop us as long as we have each other."

Luna nodded in understanding. "Very well. If you are ready, we will escort you to the edge of the Everfree Forest. But that is as far as we will take you. The rest is up to the two of you." Luna then proceeded to walk to the door.

Rainbow looked over to her wife and quietly asked, "Ready to go, ‘Shy?"

Fluttershy let out a sigh. "Ready as I'll ever be." Then they followed the Princess out of the library, leaving Twilight alone.

Twilight gazed at the now closed library door. "I hope those two will be alright." She then looked at the table where her marefriend was eating and noticed the mess left by said marefriend. "Urgh! She could have at least cleaned up before she left!”

Just then the remains of the moon pie floated up in a blue aura and flew over to a trash bin. Twilight smiled. "Hmph. That's more like it." She trotted over to one of her book shelves, pulled out a book and proceeded to read it.

-----------------

On the outskirts of PonyVille, near the edge of the Everfree Forest, stood three winged mares, each staring into the depths of the darkened forest.

"This is where we part ways." Announced Princess Luna, breaking the silence. "May you travel safely."

Fluttershy was first to respond. "Thank you Princess." Fluttershy turned to look at her wife and noticed that she was staring into the forest with a not so determined look. "Dashie? Everything okay?"

Rainbow turned to her wife quickly, as if she had suddenly been released from a trance. "Oh! Um, uh, y-yeah. Everything's awesome. Come on, we should get going." Just then Rainbow jumped up and started to head above the forest.

Fluttershy started to follow suit when she stopped and shifted her attention towards the Princess. "Goodbye Princess and thank you again."

"Good bye and safe travels, my little pony." Luna then looked towards the ground and sighed. "You may need it."
