> Twilight Sparkle in the Pokémon World AKA Probably a Pretty Unoriginal Idea > by maxdoss > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapitre 1: Je Ne Parle Pas Français (AKA I don't speak french) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning in Ponyville shimmered. The morning in Ponyville shined. At Twilight Sparkle knew for absolute certain that everything was certainly fine. And it was. Rainbow Dash was clearing the clouds, Apple Jack was bucking apples, Fluttershy was playing with animals, and everything was normal. Twilight Sparkle woke up to this sense of serenity, and immediately she noticed it as she looked out the window. "Wow," she said aloud. "Ponyville is just... normal. Nothing looks immediately wrong with it." With how frantic Ponyville was recently, the peacefulness was a huge breath of fresh air to her. Twilight trotted out of her room and down the stairs. However, she heard the sounds of metal tapping against each other coming from kitchen. When Twilight entered the kitchen, she was greeted to Spike, in his chefs hat, mixing up ingredients, and he clearly didn't know what to do. "You're up early," Twilight noticed. "Well, it's for a special occasion!" Spike answered. "What occasion?" Twilight remembered in her schedules that nothing of utmost importance was today. "I'll never tell. It's a surprise!" Spike cheered. "Is it a surprise meeting with the Princess?" Twilight asked enthusiastically. "Nope," Spike pushed on. "Is it for a party?" Twilight questioned Spike. She really didn't know. "Warmer..." "A birthday party?" Twilight was dying to know. "Even warmer..." "At Sugarcube Corner?" Twilight was starting to put the pieces together. "You're on fire..." "For one of my friends?" "Close enough." Spike sighed. "Well, who is it?" Twilight was dying to find out even more than when she was about five seconds ago. How could she forget her friends birthday? Now she just needed to know who so she could buy the appropriate present. "How could you forget it? It's one of the most important ponies in your life," Spike sounded exhausted. "Well anyways, I need to practice my teleportation spells. I have an important meeting with the Princess on Tuesday, and I want to impress her by teleporting there. Got to go!" Twilight went off on her way. Spike sighed and continued trying his best attempt at something edible. ________________________________________________ Even though Twilight was already pretty good at teleportation spells herself, she still couldn't teleport all the way to the Canterlot castle. She could maybe get a good halfway there; she's never really measured it. Twilight walked into a clearing just north of Ponyville, and started channeling her magic. She could hear the sounds of Rainbow Dash flying off in the distance. It didn't bother her, as she had grown accustomed to it. Twilight really had to think about hard about where she wanted to go, and she focused all of her concentration on it. Clenching her eyes, she bit down on her lip, and made some groaning noises. Meanwhile, Rainbow was flying faster and faster, trying to break her personal record of 1897 Mph. She was gaining and gaining speed faster than ever before. For sure, she was going to break her record. The sound of the air rushing past her whizzed by her ears. She was about to pull of a Sonic Rainboom, and it would be on the perfect day. The perfect spot? Not so much. She reached her maximum speed and then the rainbow ring flew out from her, making a large boom sound. This sound was right above Twilight Sparkle, and losing all her focus, she pulled off the teleportation spell in a bright flash of light. _________________________________________________ Twilight woke up in a grassy forest. She surveyed the area around her. She couldn't be in the Everfree; the trees were too different. The air also smelled different. This was unlike any other place she knew. After wondering around for a little bit, she suspected she wasn't in Equestria anymore. "Hey, a Pokémon!" Her suspicions were confirmed. She wasn't in Equestria, and she had no idea how to go home. > Chapitre 2: Bienvenue à la région Kalos! (AKA Welcome to the Kalos Region!) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Fennekin, come out for battle!" The person said. He threw a white and red ball and out came Fennekin. "Use Ember!" The Fennekin shot out some fire from it's mouth. Twilight dodged out of the way just in time. "Hey!" she scolded. "You can talk? I thought Pokémon can't talk. SCORE!" he shouted. "I'm not a Pokémon!" Twilight yelled. "You're not?" He asked. "Fennekin, return." He took out the ball and Fennekin disappeared back into it in a stream of red light. "Of course not! I'm a pony from Equestria." "Equestria? Is that some far off region" "What do you mean by region?" "You know. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, etc." "I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't know where I am. So, where am I?" "Well, this is the Santalune Forest, in the Kalos region. You're not from here, are you?" "Do I look like I'm from here?" Twilight asked. "No," he scratched his head. "I'm Calem, and you just met Fennekin." "And I'm Twilight Sparkle. Now if you excuse me, I have to teleport back home." Twilight focused all of her energy like she did before, and a white flash emitted from her horn, but quickly faded. "Huh?" She tried all the spells that she could, from fireballs to turning over a leaf. Her eyes started to tear up. "Oh no. My magic isn't working! I'll never be able to go home." Twilight broke out into tears. "Don't worry! I'll help you." Calem assured. "Wh.. why?" Twilight sobbed. "Because it's my duty as a Pokémon trainer to help those in need!" Her eyes started clearing. "Thank you. Now, can you tell me more about this place?" "Well, welcome to the World of Pokémon, more specifically the Kalos region." He pulled out the white and red ball again. "This is a Poké Ball, and they hold creatures known as Pokémon." He explained to Twilight what Pokémon were and how he was a human. "Humans and Pokémon have been together for as long as we've wrote on cave walls. The bond Pokémon and Trainer is one of the strongest ever imaginable. The goal for a Trainer is to bond with your Pokémon, fill the Pokédex, and become the Champion of the region. Also, you should meet new friends, have plenty of battles, and discover a world you never knew!" "Wow. I'm sure all my friends back in Ponyville would love to hear all about it." Sighing, Twilight slumped onto the ground. "How about you join me on my journey. We could discover whole new things we never knew about, and became great friends." The word friends unsettled her even more. How was she supposed to make friends when all of her other friends were someplace else. "So, what do you say?" Calem stuck his hand out. Twilight slowly took out her hoof and touched it to his. He firmly grabbed it, and at that point, they became friends. > Ponyville Interlude 1: Where are you, Twilight Sparkle? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This day was going to be perfect. All the decorations were set up, the food was ready, and all the party guests arrived. However, the most important guess was nowhere to be seen. Twilight Sparkle was missing on her birthday. "Hurry up, already!" Rainbow Dash complained. "It's been one hour since the party started, and she hasn't arrived yet!" "Jus' be patient, everypony," Applejack said. "She's probably been so busy studying that she lost track of time." "Um, Spike," Fluttershy whispered. "When did you, um, last see Twilight?" "While I was making her cake this morning," He responded. It was his best friends 20th birthday, and he wanted to make the cake himself. "She said that needed to practice her teleportation spells. I'm sure she'll be here soon." "WAIT A MINUTE!" Rainbow Dash yelled. "While I was practicing for a "private flight show" for her birthday, I managed to pull off the Sonic Rainboom. I also saw a flash below me as I pulled it off, not unlike the type that appears when she does a teleportation spell." "I remember I tried doing that spell once," Rarity explained. "Sweetie Belle interrupted me, and I managed to go to a completely different place than what I wanted to. Completely drained me of my magic for a few days, too. So in other words..." "Uh-oh." They all said in unison. Twilight was missing, and they didn't know where. > Chapitre 3: L'appel de Passerouge (AKA Fletchling's Call) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Wow, Calem," Twilight said. "This new world sounds pretty cool!" Twilight was now excited by the idea of Pokémon. I bet Fluttershy would love these things! She thought to herself. "Thanks, Twilight," Calem responded. "My goal is to become the Champion of the region, and to be the very best that no one ever was!" Calem's joy was interrupted when they heard the sound of rustling grass. "What's that?" Twilight asked. She looked at the spot where the grass shook. "Ah yeah!" Calem cheered. "That's a wild Pokémon!" Out from the tall grass, a small red bird emerged. "Go, Fennekin!" Calem threw out his Poké Ball, and out shot his Fennekin. "What Pokémon is that?" Twilight wondered. Calem pulled out his Pokédex. "Fletching, the Tiny Robin Pokémon," the Pokédex said. "These friendly Pokémon send signals to one another with beautiful chirps and tail feather movements. However, they are merciless to those who invade their territory." I bet it thinks we're invading its territory, Twilight thought. "Fennekin, use Ember!" Calem commanded. Fennekin was quick to do so, and shot out many tiny bursts of flame out of it's mouth. Fletchling dodged and flew up into the air, only to dive down and strike Fennekin with it's mouth. Fennekin was knocked back and hit the ground. "Get up and use Tackle!" Calem shouted. Fennekin quickly got back up, and tackled the Fletchling. "Yeah! Now use Ember!" Firing out a burst of fire, Fennekin jumped off from the Fletchling. "Go, Poké Ball!" Calem threw another Poké Ball, this time aiming towards Fletchling. It hit the Fletchling and opened up, and it the Fletching disappeared into a red light which led into the Poké Ball. It shook once... twice... now three times, but then it broke, releasing the Fletching. "Augh! Almost had it! Fennekin use Tackle!" Fennekin tackled once more, and Calem threw another Poké Ball. Again, it shook once, twice, and now three times. However, instead of it breaking, it sealed shut. "Yeah! Fletchling, caught!" Calem cheered. Fennekin jumped up in the air with glee. "Good job, Fennekin!" Twilight said. Fennekin smiled. "Hey!" Calem said. "Sorry," Twilight responded. "Fennekin, return," Calem said, holding out Fennekin's Poké Ball. Fennekin returned to it's Poké Ball in it a flash of red light. "So, now what?" Twilight asked. "I say we continue on our way to Santalune City. Let's go!" > Chapitre 4: Échapper à ces singes élémentaires! (AKA Escape Those Elemental Monkeys!) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hmm. It seems to be getting dark," Calem said. He put down his backpack and took out what looks like a folded up tent. He quickly unfolded it, making a small tent. "Sorry, but I don't have another one. I didn't anticipate having company for a while." "It's okay," Twilight said. "I'm not exactly used to it, but I can manage." "I do have an extra blanket though. You can use that." Calem took out an extra blanket from his backpack, and set it onto the grass. "Thank you, Calem." Twilight nodded and fell onto the blanket. "Good night, Twilight," Calem opened up his tent, and quickly changed into his pajamas. He took both Fennekin's and Fletchling's Poké Balls and put them in his bag. "Good night, you two." With that, he pulled up his sleeping bag, and went to bed. _______________________________________________________ Twilight was shaking and stirring, barely able to fall asleep. What if my friends just think I disappeared? What will they do? Twilight's stomach growled. "Hmm. I guess I haven't eaten at all today," she whispered to herself. "Might as well find some berries." Twilight stood up, and checked Calem's tent to make sure he was asleep. He was snoring. Twilight started walking away deeper into the forest. Wow, these trees are much different than the Everfrees. She found a fruit hanging from one of the trees, and took a bite out of it. Hmm... Tastes like apples. This really reminds me of Applejack. She finished up eating the fruit, and took out the seeds. Might as well take it back to Ponyville when I return home. If I return home... She found a larger leaf, and fashioned it into a small pouch to store seeds. Twilight searched around the forest a bit more, finding and eating more fruit, storing the seeds as she went along. Eventually she came across a tree larger than the rest. She looked up to it, and saw some funky looking fruit. She jumped to grab it, and barely caught onto the stem. She came crashing down, taking the fruit with her. But something landed on top of her that wasn't a fruit, but it was a green monkey. It quickly jumped up from off of her, and let out a shriek. Two more monkey's came down from the tree, this time they were blue and red. All three of them yelled, and started chasing after her. "AHHH!" she yelled, and ran away. She quickly approached the campsite, yelling for Calem. He emerged from his tent with a look of confusing on his face. Twilight ran onto him and they toppled onto the ground. "Ugh. What happened?" He asked. "Just listen." The monkeys shrieked again, and approached the campsite. "Quick! Go get Fennekin and Fletchling." Twilight commaned. "On it!" Calem ran into his tent, and got out his bag, just as the monkey's approached them. "Those are Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour! Go, Fennekin and Fletchling!" He threw out both Fennekin and Fletching. "Fennekin, use Ember on the Pansage, and Fletchling, you use Tackle on the Panpour!" Fennekin shout out a fireball at the Pansage, while Fletchling jumped at Panpour, knocking to the ground. "Fletchling, use Peck!" Fletchling flew up into the air, and dived down onto the Panpour, knocking it out. "Good job! Fennekin, use Tackle!" Fennekin tackled Pansage, and Fletching dived onto the Panpour, knocking it out too. "That's the teamwork I want to see! Both of you use Tackle, and then use Ember, Fennekin!" They both nodded and tackled Pansear, and then Fennekin used Ember, and that took out the Pansear. "All right, team!" Calem kneeled down onto the ground, holding out both of his hands. Fennekin hit it with his tail, and Fletchling jumped onto it. Calem started laughing. "I'm so impressed that they show such dedication to what they're doing," Twilight observed. "Animals back in Equestria usually don't listen unless trained, while that was the first time you even used Fletchling, and it listened to you just fine." "Well, I guess I'm just that nice of a guy!" "Oh cut it out, Calem. Also, I'm sorry about waking you guys up. I couldn't sleep, and I was hungry." "Don't worry about it. I just hope you can fall asleep now. I know I'm tired. Fletchling, return." He took out Fletchling's Poké Ball and Fletchling zoomed back in. "I think I'll have Fennekin stay outside from now on. Would you like that?" he asked Fennekin. He nodded, and smiled. "Sweet. Good night, Twilight." Calem said, while Fennekin jumped up and made a cheerful sound. "C'mon. Let's go back to bed." Calem re entered his tent, and quickly fell back asleep, with Fennekin at his side. "Good night," Twilight whispered as she fell back onto the blanket. This time, however, she went right to sleep. > Chapitre 5: Combattre Types pour Twilight (AKA Fighting Types for Twilight!) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight and Calem both woke up with a good's night sleep, even if they had been interrupted the night before. "C'mon. Let's hurry out of the Santalune Forest," Calem said. "I got a Holo Caster message last night from Serena to meet us at the end." "Holo Caster? Serena? What are they?" Twilight asked. She knows that Serena is a name, but doesn't know what a Holo Caster is. "I'll show you." Calem took out his Holo Caster, which was a small, circular metallic device. He pressed a button, and it started ringing. Soon, a hologram of a female trainer appeared. "Hi, Calem!" The trainer said, who was presumably Serena. "S'up, Serena. I got your message last night. I'm just about to pack up my campsite and leave. Also, I have a special friend I want to show you." It seemed that Calem always loved to brag. "Can't wait! Bye!" "Cya!" Calem hung up the Holo Caster, and put it back into his bag. "Wow!" Twilight enthused. "We have some technology in Equestria, but nothing like that! The closest we probably have is the Flim Flam Brother's Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000." "The what?" "I'll tell you later. Anyway's, lets pack up and get moving." Twilight picked up the blanket she slept on, and put it on her back. Calem folded up the tent, which revealed Fennekin still sleeping. "Fennekin looks to be a heavy sleeper. Just like Rhyhorn!!" Calem said. "What's a Rhyhorn?" Twilight asked. "Is it a Pokémon?" "Yeah. My mom used to be a champion Rhyhorn racer. I'll have to show you the next time we have the chance to stop at my house. Anyway's, should we wake Fennekin up?" "Nah. Just let him get some sleep. Here," Twilight showed her back, which was covered with the blanket. "Put him there." Calem gently picked up Fennekin and set him onto Twilight's back. "Let's go." They both started walking, eventually reaching the end of the forest. Serena and three other trainers were waiting with her. "Hey!" Serena shouted out, alerting the other three. "Serena! Tierno! Shauna! Trevor!" Calem started running towards them, with Twilight Sparkle closely following him. "The gangs all here!" Tierno said, who was a tall and chubby trainer with a black shirt with an ice cream Pokémon on it. "And someone extra. I'd like you all to meet... Twilight Sparkle." Calem moved out of the way so they could all see her clearly. "Oooo. What Pokémon is that?" Trevor asked, pulling out his Pokédex. He seemed to be the smallest one, with ginger hair. "Huh? It's not registering." "That's because I'm not a Pokémon!" Twilight yelled. "I'm a pony! From Equestria." "Equestria? What's that?" Shauna asked. She had darker skin from the rest, with brown hair and a pink skirt to complement it. "Sit down. Let me tell you." Twilight said. She told the story about all of her friends, their adventures, and how she came here, with the occasional Fennekin snore interrupting them. "Ahhhh," Shauna whimpered, tearing up. "That's so sad!" Serena added. "Don't worry about me. Just focus on your journeys, and making the memories you want to," Twilight said. "How about we have a picnic," Tierno said. "Y'a know. To lighten the mood?" "That's a great idea, Tierno." Calem said. "Twilight picked some fruit last night. We could eat those." "Let's do it!" They walked out of the forest, entering Route 3. Twilight folded the blanket on her back onto the ground, for them to sit on. Calem took out his bag and got out all of the fruit, and there were 15 in total. "That's two for each of us, and the rest for the Pokémon!" Twilight said. They all sat down on the blanket, and grabbed a fruit. Fennekin was still sleeping, snoring on the ground. "Fennekin, time to walk up," Calem whispered. Fennekin barely turned over. "There's food......." Fennekin opened his eyes, and quickly sprang towards a fruit, swallowing it whole. The whole gang laughed. "Why don't you give some food to Fletchling?" Twilight suggested. "Good idea!" Calem took out Fletchling from his Poké Ball, and handed him a fruit. Fletchling started pecking at it, and ate it slowly. Twilight was about to take a bite of her fruit and a small, but humanoid looking Pokémon jumped out from a bush. It grabbed Twilight's fruit and took the rest of the fruit that hadn't been eaten. "Hey!" They all yelled. A trainer soon came out from the bush. "Have you seen my Riolu? It ran away from me, and I can't catch up to it." "Yeah," Twilight said. "In fact, it took our food! I'll go get it, if you don't mind." "Thanks. I need to have a word with it. Also, my name is Garret," he said with a stern sound in his voice. Twilight stood up, and ran through the bushes that Garret's Riolu ran through. "Riolu! Come out, come out wherever you are!" Twilight was never the best with animals, or in this case, Pokémon. That was always Fluttershy's job. Eventually, after walking around for about 5 minutes, she found it, grubbing on the berries like it hasn't been fed in weeks. "Can you come back with me?" Twilight asked. The Riolu shook it's head no. "Is it because you don't like me?" Riolu shook it's head no, again. "Is it because of Garret?" Riolu finally nodded his head. "Don't worry," Twilight assured. "I'm sure everything will be all right. Riolu stood up, and gave Twilight Sparkle his last fruit. "Thank you! Let's get back." Twilight quickly gobbled up the fruit, and walked back to the picnic. "There you are!" Garret yelled. "Get over here, now!" The way Garret was treating Riolu made her feel uncomfortable. "Don't you ever do that again. Do you understand?" Riolu put his head down, and walked away with Garret. "Do you understand?" He continued to yell as they walked away. He put his hand up, and he was about to hit Riolu. He started to swing down, but was fortunately interrupted. "Stop!" Twilight yelled. "No person or Pokémon has the right to be treated that way, no matter what they do!" Riolu started running towards Twilight, with tears streaming down it's face. "Fine! Let's have a battle! The person who wins get's Riolu." "Deal. Since I don't have any of my own, I'll use Riolu. Is that okay?" Riolu nodded. "Uh.. fine. Go, Butterfree!" Garret threw out a Poké Ball, which contained what was a Butterfree. "Calem, what moves does Riolu have?" Twilight asked. "Uh... Quick Attack, Counter, Feint, and Endure." "Got it. Riolu, use Quick Attack!" Riolu ran towards the Butterfree, and jumped up into the air to hit it. "Dodge and use Confusion!" Butterfree aimed a small beam of energy on Riolu, knocking it onto the ground. "Don't give up! Use Feint!" Riolu jumped up again, this time being able to knock Butterfree onto the ground. "Now use Quick Attack!" Riolu dived onto the ground, landing right onto Butterfree, knocking it out. "No!" Garret screamed out. "If you want Riolu, you can have him!" He returned Butterfree, and took out Riolu's Poké Ball, and dropped it onto the ground. He stepped up, and smashed his foot on it, smashing it. Everybody gasped. Garret soon ran away. "So, Riolu, are you ready to join my team?" Twilight asked. He nodded. "Calem, hand me a Poké Ball," Calem took out a Poké Ball, and gave it to Twilight. She threw it up in the air, and Riolu jumped up. He touched the button on it, and entered the Poké Ball. It shook all three times, then locked up. "Yeah! Wait a sec, I don't have a place to put it. I guess you're staying outside for now!" She picked it up with her mouth and threw it back on the ground, and Riolu emerged. He jumped up onto Twilight's back. He pulled out something, which looked like a wallet. "You took his wallet!" Calem noted. "I think he can go without it for a while, if you know what I mean," Everybody laughed. "I think that's enough drama for one day," Serena said. Riolu cheered. > Ponyville Interlude 2: I'm Sorry > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ponyville was sad. Really sad. Everypony all had their heads low, except Pinkie Pie, who was failing miserably at keeping everyponyy happy. Nopony could get over the fact that Twilight Sparkle was missing. It was just so... odd. Whenever there was a problem, Twilight Sparkle was always there to fix it, and she could certainly solve problems herself. Rainbow Dash soared into Ponyville, and softly landed in front of the Carousel Boutique. Rarity saw Rainbow Dash arrive, and galloped to the doorstep. "Did you find any clues on where Twilight could have disappeared to?" Rarity asked Rainbow Dash. "Well.... no. I checked Saddle Arabia, but I couldn't understand any of them," Rainbow scratched her head. "What about you? How is your research going along?" "Not good either. I checked all of the Ponyville Library, but I ended up getting distracted by Spike. Poor guy hasn't done anything but cry his little eyes out since she disappeared. My little Spikey-Wikey needed somebody to comfort him," Rarity smiled. "Oh please," Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "Spike can manage himself, even when Twilight's not there." "I guess. But he was the closest to Twilight, and can barely live on his own. It wouldn't be right to not help him a little bit. The saddest part about it is that she disappeared on her own birthday." "Anyways, I really need to get some sleep. I haven't slept in a few days, and I have a big race coming up," Rainbow Dash flew up back into the sky, and set off towards Cloudsdale. "I better get some sleep, too. It's late and I need to get my beauty sleep," Rarity said to herself. She trotted back into the Carousel Boutique, and didn't even waste time getting herself ready. She just fell over on the bed and immediately fell asleep.
