(This is a revamp of a revamp. It was a old story I had and I wanted to revamp it and make it better. If you dislike tell me why. I love positive feedback. All art made by me and my friend! )
This Saturday was great! I played Gmod most of the time on my computer with my friends Nico and Gabi. We played mostly on Gmod mini game servers like Gmod towers. But when I looked at the clock after a game of mini-golf, it was already 10pm. Then Gmod towers crashed again. Which made us all disconnect.
“You know what I’m done!” Nico said.
“I think I am too.” Gabi said afterwards.
“WAIT! Lets join one more game. But lets play sandbox with no one on it.” I said.
“Why?” Nico said.
“I was gettin’ to that! Anyways lets join a empty server so no one bugs us.” I said once more.
“Sounds good to me.” Gabi said.
“Oh, fine I’m just getting tired of the servers crashing!” Nico said right after Gabi.
I started looking through sandbox servers until I saw one server that peeked my interest the most. The Ip was 01.245.982. But the description fascinated me the most. “A place where you will find yourself.”
“Were waiting!” Nico said.
“Here join this server no one is on it.” I said then posting the Ip in chat. “Let’s join together. Ready? 3. 2. 1.” I counted down then we all clicked join. I started feeling a pulling sensation from the computer like someone had me on a rope and was pulling me in. The pulling got worse and worse. I had to grab the chair so hopefully I don’t get pulled in. But that wouldn’t help me my legs were already in the air. I yelled for someone to help me. “HEEEELP!!” I screamed. But it was too late, I had already let go. I hit my head on the desk and passed out. Before I knew it I started to regain my consciousness again. I felt a cold ground underneath me. I opened my eyes to see bright blue sky above me filled with a few clouds. I sat up and looked ahead of me. I was on a tile platform in the middle of a grass field. I put my hand on the back of my head. “Gosh, how did I end up on old gm_flatgrass.” I said to myself. I looked down at myself to see I was wearing a white lab coat, white t-shirt with a black tie, black dress pants and black dress shoes. I got up onto my feet and looked around for anything else. Then I noticed Nico because of his outfit. He had an old cowboy hat, leather jacket, cowboy boots, beaten down jeans and an orange shirt. I walked over to him kneeled, and then slapped him. “Wake up partner.” I joked.
Nico jolted awake. “Who you callin' partner, boy.” Nico said to me. Then he looked down at his outfit. “What is this? I look like a snake in a barrel suit.” Nico said.
“What?” I questioned his statement.
I looked around some more and spotted Gabi on the other side of the tile platform. I ran over to her and I noticed her unfitting outfit as well. It was a fancy white dress, a white scarf and black high heels. I tugged on her scarf.
She grabbed my hand and moved it away quickly. She opened her eyes and shook her head in disapproval. She got onto one high heel then she tumbled over.
I quickly dove in and grabbed her before she fell.
She got up onto both feet, but barely. “Stupid high heels.” She said when walking to us.
“You, in high heels. That’s as crazy as a bear in a push pin barrel.” Nico said.
“Where did you get that annoying accent?” Gabi questioned.
“Yonder when I got here.” Nico said.
“Anyways does anyone know why where in the game?” I said
“ Ye reckon it’s some sort of wrangle fangled prank those yungins’ would say.” Nico said with his hands in his pockets.
An ethereal light started to emit in the middle of the platform. The light started to enlarge, covering more area by the second and was also getting much brighter. Then it just suddenly stopped and a white pale man in a blue tuxedo with a shiny black briefcase was there. It was Gman. Just after appearance he instantly started talking in a slow and steady monotone voice and he said, “Not that I wish to imply, that you have been slacking on the job. No one is more deserving of a rest. But the wrong people in the right place makes all the difference in the world. Now it is time for you to wake up you three. Wake up and smell the ashes.” Gman said straightening his tie every other word and slowly fading out like a shadow as he ended his sentence.
Then everything went black, until only a second no less, a huge flash of light and color went off then everything came back to view. I was laying on soft grass looking up at the light blue sky while the sun was shining bright and bathing me in it’s rays of heat. I sat up to see dark green hedges nicely trimmed all around me and in every direction as far as I could see. I got up onto my feet. “Nico! Gabi! Where are you?!” I yelled. I waited to get a response. All I got back was silence. I stood and put my hands in my lab coat. I could feel something inside of my right pocket. I pulled it out to see I was holding the handle of a gun with an LED screen and tons of wires. I knew what it was immediately...it was the tool gun. In shock I let go of the grip of the gun. It fell only a few centimeters then stopped. It slowly started dematerializing into a brown and dark grey cloud. Then it zoomed into my right hand. Pain started to grow immediately. More and more of the cloud went into my hand. The pain was getting worse and worse until, I passed out.
I started to gain consciousness again. I felt a nice soft bed underneath me with a nice soft fleece blanket on top of me. I opened my eyes to see a white painted ceiling. My right hand throbbing every ten seconds. Every time I tried to moved my hand, immense pain shot through me. I tried to sit up but it was too painful to do so. All I could do is move my head and look around. Only to see I was in a hospital room with the curtains covering the view of my left and right. I started hearing light steps coming towards me. I started to see a white pony with light pink hair walking over to my bed.
“Oh finally something is awake.” She said then walked over to my bed.
“I’m the only one awake?” I asked curiously.
“You and the other two were out for 2 days.” She said while writing a couple notes on the clipboard at the end of the bed.
“Can I ask your name ma’am? Also where I am?” I asked her once again.
“It’s Nurse Redheart and you're in the hospital at Canterlot… which is located in Equestria in case you didn't realize. We found three of you in the maze garden outside the castle. We couldn’t pick any of you up for a while, since every time we did you had a seizure. But, we got you three here eventually. Can you please tell me your name, race, and are you a herbivore or carnivore?” Nurse Redheart asked.
“My name is Nathaniel, our race is human, and we are herbivores.” I said.
“Ok.” Nurse Redheart said then finished up her writing on the clipboard. “Do you want anything to eat or drink?” Nurse Redheart said then pulled back both of the curtains.
I looked over to my right to see Gabi sleeping. Then I looked to the left to see Nico also out cold.
“Hello?” Nurse Redheart said.
“Oh, sorry. I would love some water and some salad and with some nuts please. Do you have thousand island dressing?” I asked snapping back into reality once more.
“What?”Nurse Redheart said with a puzzled look.
“Just forget it. It’s a human thing.” I said back to Redheart, then she left the room.
Then I heard a moan over on my right. I looked over to see Gabi finally waking up. “What happened to you?” I asked.
“The tool gun! That’s what happened!” She said angrily.
“Dematerialized and caused extreme pain?” I asked.
“Yep, did it happen to you as well?” Gabi asked.
“Yep, well this embarrassing.” I responded.
“Now what do we do?” Gabi asked.
“All we can do is just wait for all of us to heal.” I said.
All in one go nico jumped awake. “The accent is gone! Thank goodness!” Nico said then he moved an inch then winced in pain.
“Looks like someone’s finally up.” I said outloud.
“Ya… and in pain.” Nico said.
“You’re not the only one” I said gesturing to myself and Gabi
Suddenly the door creaked open and Nurse Redheart entered the room with a tray carrying a glass of water and the salad I asked for. She looks at all three of us. “So you are all finally awake. I need to get Shining Armor.” Redheart said heading towards the door.
“Wait why? Oh come on...she left with my salad.” I said but she had already left.
“Welp. That went well.” Nico said with extra sass.
“Oh, by the way Gabi I said that we were herbivores.” I said.
“YOU DID WHAT?! BEEF JERKY IS LIKE MY LIFE!” Gabi yelled trying to get up, but was then overcome by pain.
“Sorry Gabi, you know that ponies are herbivores, you don’t want them to think we're going to make them into a souffle!” I said in quick response.
“Oh whatever!” Gabi said angrily.
“Are we done arguing, cus’ we have guests.” Nico shushed both of us.
A white colt walked into the room, he had a dark blue mane with a light blue stripe through it and his cutie mark was a shield. His name was Shining Armor and was captain of the royal guard. “Oh these must be those hu..mans?” Shining Armor said to Nurse Redheart when she came into the room after Shining Armor.
“Yep that is correct!” Nurse Redheart responded quickly.
Shining Armor trotted over to my bed then put his front hooves on the front of the bed. “Where did you come from and what are you doing here!?”
“Calm down Mr. Armor. We really don’t know how we got here or why. All I remember is waking up in a hedge maze.” I said politely.
“Well tell me this mr innocent! Why do you have so much chaotic magic in your body? There is only one other being with chaotic magic!” Shining Armor said in my face.
“Well in our world we are all run by chaotic magic.” I responded quickly.
“Fine let’s see what Celestia thinks of you! She will be here in ten minutes.” Shining Armor said angrily, then stomped out the door with Nurse Redheart.
“No! My salad!” I yelled.
“Well who took a dump in your corn flakes?” Nico questioned.
In the middle of the room a large red door appears out of thin air with an aura like glow coming from it. The door opens and a creature of mixed animals begins walking in. “Ooooh whoops this isn’t fluttershy’s house!” Discord said then he looked around and spoted us. “Yay chaotic buddies! I have waited quite sometime for a species that has the same magic as me.” Discord said then the door disappeared as well as him. Discord reappeared in front in my bed in a wheelchair with a cast on his arm and leg. “It’s just too bad that you’re in so much pain.” Discord said sarcastically. He then disappeared again and appeared over by the left side of my bed with a thermometer in his hand. “Lets see you’re temperature!” Discord said then put the thermometer into my mouth for a few seconds then took it out. “Oh it looks like your Chaotic magic is low according on my chaos meter.” Discord said then showed me that the liquid was low next to a sad face. “Let me find the nearest chaotic being.” Discord said and the thermometer was gone and replaced by a compass. The compass magically flew around and then stopped with fireworks launching out of the compass. “Oh my, looks like I’m the only one that can transfer some magic. Better get into uniform!” Discord said then he snapped his fingers and a wardrobe appeared and then he jumped into the wardrobe. “Stay back witch!” Discord yelled through the door. He jumped out of the wardrobe with a doctor uniform on, only to be followed by a huge amount of snow flakes. “Wow, it’s chilly in there!” Discord said then walked over to me. “Looks like its time for you to take your medicine, one pint of chaotic magic coming up!” Discord said then a small cloud appeared as he raised his paws and then he split it into three clouds and each chaotic cloud entered chaotic energy into our bodies. “Your welcome chaotic buddies!” Discord said then disappeared.
The three of us lied in our beds for a minute or two longer while the chaotic energy was ridding us of our pain, until we could finally stand up. We all got up slowly and groggily and tried to get the blood flowing to our legs again, and be ready for Celestia’s arrival which would be in a few minutes. The short time we had flew by and before we knew it princess Celestia had arrived. I sat back down on the bed waiting for Celestia. Celestia slowly walked into the room, she was levitating a small plate with a slice of cake on it, she was also levitating the fork she was eating with. Thats so lazy, but genius. Following her into the room was her sister, princess Luna and behind her was Shining Armor and Nurse Redheart. Once all four of them had fully entered the room the no doubt interesting conversation was about to begin.
“So you three are the little trouble makers around here are you.” Celestia said pausing with a bite of her cake. “Well, I’m glad to have you three here as guests just as long as you don’t cause any REAL trouble.” She said with a smile, taking another bite of her cake.
“If I may ask, how are you three standing up already!? My, you humans make a fast recovery!” Nurse Redheart said with excitement
“Yes it is impressive, but i’ll bet it wasn’t solely because there human. It’s because of their chaos magic...you can feel it.” Luna said with a neutral glare
“Yeah and it’s stronger than when I was last in the room” Said Shining Armor nervously
Celestia swallowed another bite of her cake. “I know they have chaotic magic Shining Armor but they are humans, there different from us and I don’t think they're here to cause any damage or harm.” Celesia said.
“I don’t want to intrude but I don’t how we got here or why.” I said. “But, I know this, we were sent fo-” I started to say but when I stood up I did so too quickly and pain instantly shot through my legs and sent me onto the floor. I could hear a giggle from Nico. “That hurt a lot! Well guess thats what happens when your in a coma for three days and stand up too quickly.” I said while sitting on the floor.
“I’ll get you a wheelchair.” Nurse Redheart said then walked out of the room.
“Are you ok Nate?” Gabi asked.
“Ya my legs are like jelly.” I said. “What was I saying again?”
“That you were sent here for something.” Celestia said with a piece of cake in her mouth.
“Oh...RIGHT! I was saying, I know for one thing...all three of us were sent for a reason. I don’t know THE specific reason though… soooo, until I do, I can’t say.” I said.
Luna nods in disappointment. “Sister, don’t you think it’s a little suspicious that these three appear after Tirek was defeated only a week prior.” Luna said to Celestia.
Celestia looked at her sister. “Don’t be so rash they are guests to the Equestrian Empire. It’s not everyday we get visitors from a different dimension.” Celestia said to Luna.
“Guests or not they breached the castle walls and were in the hedge maze without an invite. That’s a direct violation of equestrian law in section 45 paragraph 9 and is not OK!” Shining Armor said to Celestia.
“Oh, don’t be so uptight Shining Armor.” Celestia said clearly starting to get annoyed by Shining Armor’s persistent suspicions.
Nurse Redheart walked into the room pushing a wheelchair in front of her. “I got the wheelchair for you.” Nurse redheart said while rolling the wheelchair over to me where I sat on the ground.
“Thank you so much.” I said then used my arms to lift my self into wheelchair. “It’s a little bit small.” I said then rolled myself over to the window. I could see the hospital garden. But there was something odd, Gman was there talking to a green earth pony. I can’t make out what they're saying.
“Hey Nate, Celestia is talking towards you.” Nico said.
“Oh, sorry there was something outside that caught my eye.” I said taking a glance in Celestia’s direction then looking back outside. Gman was gone. A shiver went down my spine. What are you up to Gman?
“Can you not spaceout.” Gabi said to me.
I turned around to face everyone and rolled over in front of Celestia. “Alright can you please repeat what you said again.”
“I was asking you if you could complete a task for me, if you’re up to it that is.” Celestia repeated for my thick brain.
“Oh, um...sure!” I said “What kind of task?”
“I need you three to check out a crash site.” Celestia said in response
“What kind of crash site, what’s over there?” I questioned, puzzled by the task she’d given.
“A chaotic tool of some sort. I can’t really say what since it’s out of this world.” Celestia said.
“Um, Couldn’t you just move it from the site?” Nico asked.
“No, one does not just simply move it, it has too much chaotic energy imbued in it to be able to move it.” Luna said.
“We’re going to have someone go with you as well.” Celestia said
“Sister, do not send HIM with them.” Luna said to Celestia
“But he is the only one that knows chaotic magic as much as me. Discord must go.” Celestia responded.
“YES!” Nico yelled
“Have you already met him?” Celestia asked.
“You can say that.” Nico said
“Alright it’s settled then you three and discord will set out tomorrow at midday.” Celestia responded quickly. Celestia threw the fork and plate into a nearby trash can before heading out the door. Wow, what a waist. Those weren’t even disposable. Luna followed her sister out of the room along with Nurse Redheart, leaving Shining Armor in the room.
“I’m watching you.” Shining Armor said annoyed before leaving the room.
“Well that went well.” Nico said with sass.
“Yup.” I said. Looking at my hand. Only 10 minutes earlier it was throbbing every 10 seconds, but its fine now. I clutched my hand like I was holding the tool gun. Huge amounts of pain were shooting through my hand, it felt like ten bee stings at once every time the pain surged. I winced. The gun materialized back into my hand. There it is, the tool of creation and destruction. But the screen was black.
“Hey how did you do that?” Nico and Gabi asked in synchrony.
“Clench your hand like you’re holding the gun, but be c-” I started to warn them about the pain but they already went ahead with it.
“AHHH!” Nico and Gabi yelled.
“Shh. Are you trying to get all of the hospital to hear you?! I angrily asked.
“Sorry, man. The pain... it was so sudden. I couldn’t help it!” Nico hissed.
“Mm sorry.” Gabi said.
“Why is the screen black though.” Nico asked.
“I really don’t know there must be someway to turn it on.” I said then I pondered for a while and it hit me. “The joystick on the handle!” I said then pushed down onto the joystick.
*Click*
An L.E.D. loading screen came up. There was a loading bar at the bottom left hand corner. The chaotic energy started to surge through my body. It felt warm at first then the feeling was gone. All pain was gone. I got up onto my feet with no trouble.
