Prologue
All had been peaceful and quiet in the quaint town of Ponyville, apart from the daily chaos that seemed attached to the elements of harmony like metal to a magnet, since the so called 'Great and Powerful Trixie' had left six months ago. Twilight had just been made into an alicorn, but still resided in Ponyville with her friends, and Trixie had been completely forgotten, until one fateful autumn morning, when she returned...
It was another cold, dark and normal autumn morning in the small town of Ponyville, it had been the normal night too with all that could be heard was the faint breeze and Owlicious and his owl friends, that was near the eastern boundary of the Everfree forest; the novelty of a new alicorn, that was living in Ponyville itself, had just about worn off.
Bitter breezes blew through the almost silent town, knocking on closed windows and doors, gently rustling the red, purple and yellow leaves on the trees, whistling quietly as it went. Making a delightful tune, the rustling of the leaves merged with the singing of blue, green and orange birds to make a perfect harmony to prepare all of the sleeping mares, stallions, filly's and colt's for the day ahead. It was a steady high pitched tune that lured you awake And outside somehow.
Squeaking and creaking noises could be heard above all of the other noises, when it was nearing about 6 am, as an old, rickety, run-down looking cart appeared on the top of the huge, vibrant, green hills leading into the little-known town. Precariously, balancing on top of the fragmented cart, pulled by two colts one blue with an orange mane the other orange with a greeny blue mane, was a light pink unicorn mare with a purple and white striped mane, her huge insincere smile didn't at all put you in your comfort zone around her. She may have seemed normal if she had not got bright red, glistening eyes and a eerie air of familiarity.
Slowly, the mare and her somewhat servant like colt's, reached the bottom of the sixty foot high hill and into the centre of Ponyville. Exhausted the colts collapsed into the harnesses attached to the cart, that was painted with a familiar sign on it. The mare jumped off the roof of her cart and onto the stone pavement of Ponyville's town center, only she landed on her face not her hooves like she intended. She blushed rapidly and used her faint pink aura of magic to dust the tiny specks of dirt off of her spotless pink coat.
Unphased, she got up and addressed her growing audience, who were laughing at her previous misfortune,"It is I the Great and powerful Trixie, did you all not recognize mio, it is a brilliant disguise if I do say so myself!" Six ponies, and one dragon, in the audience narrowed their eyes at the pink pony in front of them. Trixie gave haughty snort and started walking through the audience, pushing aside the ponies that stood in her path, to get to certain purple unicorn with a navy blue mane that had purple and pink streaks in it. The purple unicorn narrowed her eyes and glared at Trixie, her horn starting to glow with a powerful magical surge.
After about a minute of the two unicorns staring each other down, Twilight, the purple unicorn, turned her head away.
"What do you want to prove Trixie, that I can beat you a third time, because if that is what you want you're going the right way to get it!" Twilight sighed, staring at the unicorn in front of her. Suddenly, five ponies, two earth ponies, two pegasi and one unicorn, burst into the little bubble of space the crowd had formed around Twilight and Trixie.
"The Great and powerful Trixie, will not be beaten a third time. And anyway the second time wasn't really fair, you cheated!" Trixie whined, ignoring the unimpressed look on Twilight Sparkles face.
"Oh and you didn't cheat..."
"I uh, I just wanted to beat you!" The pink unicorn fired back, non to her prevail.
"But that is no excuse for behavior that could put anypony else at risk and not to mention ruin their extreme fabulosity, darling" a voice shouted from the crowd, stunning Trixie so much, that she was silent for a moment.
"Go away Trixie, you're just a mean-mean-meanie-pants!" Pinkie Pie, a bright pink all over earth pony, threw her favourite insult at the stunned pink unicorn. The four other ponies stood by Pinkies side, a orange earth pony with a blonde mane, a white unicorn with a stunning purple mane, a yellow pegasus with a light pink mane and a cyan pegasus with a cropped rainbow mane, followed by a panting dragon that ran right up to white unicorn, staring at her in a loving manner.
"W-w-what did you just call me?" asked Trixie curiously. "Because the Great And Powerfu-"
"Yes we all get it! But what are you doing back in Ponyville?" Rainbow Dash, the rainbow maned pegasus, cut off Trixie, casually tapping her hoof on the grass. Her expression said it all, she was not pleased to see Trixie.
The yellow pegasus hid behind her long pink mane squeaking, "C-co- If you woul-wouldn't mind could you maybe, eeeeek!"
"What Fluttershy here is tryin' to say, is could you please move away from Ponyville!" the orange earth pony stated bluntly, looking away from Trixie and at Rainbow Dash who was next to her.
Trixie trotted out of the circle and towards her minions. "I won't be gone forever! I will have my revenge!" she screeched as the cart was slowly pulled back up the steep hill by the two exhausted colts...
