The early morning sunshine went through Twilight Sparkle's window as she began to wake. Taking in a deep breath, she wandered to the far window to be greeted by Ditzy Doo, the mail mare. Twilight ran outside and began greeting everyone, running past the mayor and her entourage and then over to the tables near the Quill shop.

"Morning, kid!" said Davenport as she passed. Twilight carried on through Ponyville and further down to Rarity's Carousel Boutique.

"Oh, doesn't my sky look smashing, darling?" Rarity asked.

"Rarity?" Twilight was confused. Her sky?

“Do you like it?" she asked again.

Twilight was beyond confused now. "What do you mean your sky Rarity?" she began. Then she looked down to see that Rarity had a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt for a cutie mark, instead of her usual three diamonds. "Wait…that’s Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. Oh, no." Twilight quickly turned around and headed back for her library. Today is definitely not fine.

She arrived back at her library minutes later, soaked by Rarity’s checkerboard style rainstorm. "Spike, I need your help; something did go wrong last night." She looked over to the glass case that held the elements of harmony and found that they were all different. "That spell corrupted the elements and changed everypony’s destinies. SPIKE!!!"

The little dragon came tumbling down the stairs in a rush."Wooah, woooaahh. Ow! What are you talking about, Twilight? Oh, right," spike looked at the case and realized what she was talking about. "What can we do? Is there any spell to reverse this?"

"I don’t know! Wait, do you remember that black grimoire that Princess Celestia gave us?"

"Yeah?"

"I think there is a spell in there that could fix this. Grab it and let’s sort this mess out." Spike stumbled through a pile of books until he came across a sizable black hardback book, nearly as big as him, Twilight grasped the book in her magic and levitated it in front of her. The book opened as it flipped through its pages. "Aha! This is the one! Now Spike, I want you to stand over there just in case something happens; this book was in the restricted section of the Palace library. Even the Princess had second thoughts of giving me this." Spike toddled over to the door so he was out of the way.
Taking a deep breath, Twilight began the spell. "Connected from one to all, true destiny shall be revealed, brake the heavens with thy plea, lest thy destiny be everfree!" suddenly Twilights eyes glowed bright white as she rose into the air, just a moment before Celestia flashed into the room.

"No, Twilight! I’m too late." Twilight began to scream in pain as the magic reverberated against the walls of the library. "Spike, get out of here, now. I will contain Twilight." He obeyed, sprinting out the door with tears in his eyes. "I am so sorry, I wasn't fast enough," Celestia opened her wings wide as she made a protective orb around Twilight to stop her magical rampage. It did not, however, stop her from hearing her student’s almost animalistic screams. It stopped as quickly as it began, and Twilight’s body dropped to the bottom of the orb, lifeless. Celestia began to cry.

All across Ponyville, the other Elements got their own destinies back and turned to face the library. They knew Twilight had something to do with it, so they all five rushed to the library, where a disheveled alicorn lay holding the lifeless body of their friend. One by one they broke down. Seconds turned into minutes, and still Twilight lay without quivering.
"I am sorry my dear little ponies; this is all my fault. I was testing her in this trial to see if she could ascend, but she used a spell only an alicorn could perform and it ki-" a sharp breathe came from Twilights body “Twilight!" Celestia quickly inspected her student’s body. Her chest rose up and down ever so slightly. "She needs a hospital, quickly!"

Waking from the darkness

Twilight was awoken by a faint beeping. "He.....hello?" No response. Where am I? This doesn't feel like my home. She moved and felt pain coming from her face, and moved a hoof up to her left eye. Soft bandages could be felt. She tried the right, with the same result.

"Miss Sparkle?" A sudden stallion’s voice made her jump. "Oh, I’m sorry; I didn't mean to startle you. Do you have any pain? Can you hear me fine?"

Twilight thought for a few minutes before answering, "Yes. It hurts a bit, but I can hear you fine. Where am I? Last I remember I was at the library."

"You are at Canterlot hospital, my dear. My name is Dr. Heart Med.

"Why am I here? What are these bandages for?"

A shuffling of hooves could be heard as the doctor’s voice became more heartfelt. "When you first came here, you were dying. It’s been three weeks, and the bandages are nearly ready to be removed, but…" the doctor became quiet for a minute before carrying on, "but when we checked your eyes, the optic nerves within them were damaged beyond repair. I am sorry, but you are blind. I’ll come back later to check and see if the bandages are ready to come off." Hoofsteps could be heard moving out of the room as a light switch was pressed.

Twilight sat there for hours, thinking. She could not feel her eyes, but still tears formed in them. Her patches became damp and pressed on on her face as she cried. Many hours later, the doctor came back to replace the old bandages and gave her news that another week she could have them taken off and go home. But everything had changed now. No more books, no more spells. It wouldn't be a normal life anymore; it wouldn’t be her life. What about my friends? Then she cried herself asleep.

Unknown hours later

Light noises of weeping could be heard. Twilight turned her head in the direction of the crying. "Hello?" her voice was raspy from dryness. The weeping stopped as a hoof came over to Twilight’s.

Then a voice came. "I am so sorry my dear student; I never meant for this to happen. I should have never gave you that grimoire…" sniffles came again.

"Princess Celestia, this isn't your fault." Tears came to Twilight as well.

"No, Twilight, it was. It was a test to see if you were ready to become the next alicorn princess of Equestria. I had very little doubt that you would succeed, but then there was that book. That was something I did not foresee, and I arrived too late to stop you"

A silence filled the air for many minutes until Twilight finally spoke. "I would have become an alicorn…" Celestia shifted from the bed. "This just shows I wasn't ready, what has happened was meant to. It was never your fault; it was me who used the book." suddenly Twilight was grasped in a tight hug as she felt trickles down the side of her face as Celestia cried. After a while they broke the embrace.

After a while, more hoofsteps could be heard again and then Celestia spoke. "Hello Velvet." A slap could be heard. "I deserve that. I will leave you and your daughter alone." Celestia could be heard leaving. "I will come by again tomorrow Twilight." then she left as the door closed, two sets of hoofsteps came to the right of her bed.

It was a stallion who spoke first. "Hello sweetie. How are you feeling?"

"Hi daddy. I'm okay, it’s still a bit itchy though," a small giggle could be heard from Nightlight. "Mom I.....It was my fault, please don't blame the Princess for my accident"

"It wasn't you who was egging yourself on to use magic now, was it?" Velvets voice was braking. "Now my little baby is blind…" Twilight felt her mother hold her hoof.

"No one egged me on; it was of my own accord that I used the spell." A sad smile creeped onto her face, "and it was my fault that this happened, nopony else’s"

"Fine, but after you are released from the hospital you’re moving back home to Canterlot. Alvin can care for you again. We may be of low nobility, but we can hire him again."

"No mom, you can’t. My home is in Ponyville....."

"What, you stay there and run a library? You're blind now, you can’t even use a library properly. Can you, Twilina bella Sparkle?"

"I..I..I don't know, but..."

"But nothing! There’s nowhere else that you can go, sweetie. You must come home." at this point another set of hooves could be heard that sounded like Celestia’s.

Twilight turned her head in the direction of the sound, "Princess Celestia, I thought you went home."

"I am afraid that my sister did go home. I have come for a different reason involving you, Twilight"

"Oh, sorry Princess Luna. You sound quite a lot like Princess Celestia when you move."

The hoofsteps came to the left of the bed. "It is quite alright; it is not the easiest of things to recognize somepony by the sound of their hooves. Now, Miss Velvet, I am afraid I have other plans for where Twilight will be staying."

If Twilight could have seen her mother’s face, it would be very shocked. "I'm sorry, but where would that be? My child has just been blinded by your sister! You may be royalty and our princesses, but that certainly does not mean we trust you!"

"I cannot express how sorry we are, but it would be best if I take Twilight. There is a way for her to be able to see again, but it will take time." Another set of hooves came into the room. "I will give you all the paperwork of where she will be. It is an old, trustworthy friend of mine. She will be able to help Twilight."

"I have not agreed to this, but for Twilights sake, I will hear you out. We will discuss this another time. I have to go now sweetie, but we will be back soon"

"See you soon honey."

"Goodbye mom, dad." They left, leaving Twilight and Luna alone, "I am so sorry. Please forgive my mother; she’s just hard headed. It was my own fault for using the spell. It was meant for high mages and Celestia said most of the spells must be ran through the 'Order' before being used, but I used that one without permission."

A sigh could be heard escaping the princess. "It is alright, and just between you and me, please call me Luna. The spell was actually one my sister made. Even if the greatest mage in history tried the spell, they would not be able to use it; it would kill them, which comes to my next point. You survived"

"What do you mean?"

"It was supposed to be impossible for a normal unicorn, even with your innate ability, to use a spell of this fortitude. The spell should have overloaded your body and shredded every single cell of it. To be blunt, you escaping with merely blindness is nothing short of miraculous. I have tried to see your dreams since the accident, but I cannot enter them. The only other pony that I cannot do this with is my sister, this is another impossibility. Finally, is your magical prowess: it has changed. What was once an overflowing fountain is now comparable to Neighagra Falls. Even more, it is growing every minute.

"Wait…can you actually see my magic?"

"It is odd to explain .think of this, only a miniscule amount of unicorns are able to do this. Your horn can do more than focus your magical power onto the world. With practice, it can sense the miniscule amount of magic inside of everything. This is the reason that I want you to meet my friend. She will train you in the more spiritual essence of being a mage. not many unicorns think this is proper practice and completely ignore this side of being a castor."

The door opened as the doctor strode in, "Am I intruding, Princess? I’m here to take Twilights bandages"

"No, no, just a conversation. We can carry on after you are done."

"Thank you. Now Twilight, am I safe to touch your face whilst I take the bandages away?"
Twilight just nodded her head in reply. She then felt a hoof over the patch on her left eye, slowly the patch lifted, and the cool air could be felt bracing her eyelid. "Now just try opening your left eye for me please." For a few seconds all the lid did was twitch, but then with pain she opened her eye. "Hmmm. A little swelling, but nothing major. No problems apart from your eyelid is still black. Now for the right eye and then we'll slip the bandages off." Once again slight pressure could be felt as the patch came up giving the eye room to breathe. "Brilliant. Much better. It’s not as swelled as the last. Aaaand there we go. The bandage was pulled over her mane and taken off. "Just a few days of rest and you can be released.

"Thank you, doctor." He then exited the room. "As for what you were saying?"

"Another time Twilight; you need your rest. I will be back when you are to be released. Good night."

The alicorn left, leaving Twilight to her own thoughts. Days passed and her recovery came more easily than the doctors expected; only four days and Twilight was ready to leave the hospital. As she said, Luna came and took her to Canterlot, after getting her parents’ consent. It will soon be time to see this mage Luna was talking about. What will be in store for Twilight?

The Minds Eye

It has been two days since Twilight had been taken to Canterlot, Luna has kept her company most of her spare time, she would read Twilight books whilst they get comfortable upon the cushions in the Canterlot Library. Time seem to pass by extremely fast when she was with Luna, she eased her sadness, she equaled her feelings so that she did not fall into the pits of regret.

Most of the time now Twilight never left Luna's quarter without her, Princess Celestia hadn't visited since the day she arrived in Canterlot castle, more so wouldn't come in the presence of Twilight for the guilt she had. Twilight was hurt about her mentor not being able to be around her anymore but she could do nothing to ease her relationship with her Celestia, what could she do?

Twilight let out a long breathe, bored from having no company "what time is it? I can't even tell anymore," She laid on her bed in Luna's room, waiting for her to come back from her duties, only Luna would talk to her normally anymore. All of Twilights friends tried there best to act normal around her but those who visited would end up treading on egg shells throughout their visit, she hated that they would act differently due to what happened at her library even though it was something that couldn't be ignored, she couldn't really blame them, hopefully after a while they would be able to talk naturally again.

The latch of the door could be heard at the far end of the room making Twilights ears turn in that direction as she called out, "Luna? is that you?" She asked into the darkness hopeful for someone to talk to.

A young mares voice much lighter than Luna's came though, Twilights ears drooped slightly at this, "I am sorry Miss Twilight, it is Miss Tea Leaf, I am here to take you to the dining room to meet Luna for your meal, I was told to assist you there" the mare could be heard moving closer to Twilight until she was right next to her.

Twilight turned her head to where she thought the mare was, "I.....I'm sorry, well then I guess we better get going then, we can't keep Luna waiting" Twilight stumbled off the bed into the direction of the door, feeling a hoof brush hers she grabbed it and began to walk, "I am sorry to have to make you do this all the time, Tea"

Miss Tea Leaf was one of Luna's personal maids, when Twilight first came a few days earlier she helped with all the things involving Twilight, "Its quite alright, it will take time to adjust and we don't expect you to be able to walk around by yourself, whatever you need just ask of me and I shall assist Twilight," Miss Tea said.

Miss Tea's voice was very calming but very cautious, As Twilight thought she still wouldn't open up to her, the injury just seemed to stop ponies from talking to her normally. There are the eggshells again, will ponies always be like this from now on, guess it can't be helped anymore and I can't blame her either, even my friends had trouble with this....... this disability, "So how come we are meeting in the Dining halls today, for the last two days we have been eating near Luna's room," Twilight asked, making Miss Tea turn and look at her, even though Twilight wouldn't have noticed.

Miss Tea then turned back forward as she began what Princess Luna had told her, "I won't lie Twilight, Princess Luna said it would be best for you to get as much exercise as possible so that you don't feel pent up in your daily routine, I mean no offence but you have been looking a lot more thinner and your coat has become more rugged and dry, that along with you not doing any exercise what so ever in the last month has taken a large effect on your body," Her voice grew more quiet at the end of the sentence, Pity was deep in her voice.

The rest of the walk to the Dining halls was in silence, Twilight was contemplating what could be happening to her, its impossible to become skinny, to at least a degree where I get pity in a month, what could have done it., she thought of many different ways this could have happened but from all the books and references she could remember she had no clue what could be happening.

Fifteen minutes before, Luna waiting in the Dining Hall

When Twilight came to Canterlot her sleeping pattern was very different due to her accident and had nearly completely changed to the night time. The early evening went by quite fast, the usual duty of raising the moon and then listening to the odd snob from the nobles nobles that governed the night life, quite new to Luna really was the whole idea of clubs and other entertainment that her subjects had created but she found that a club called 'vintage' where the DJ Vinyl Scratch hosts was really fun to visit, quite different from a thousand years ago but fun non-the-less.

After the night court Luna would usually do more paper work or something else to pass time, that's the thing about Alicorn's, they actually do not need food to survive, it is just something to be eaten by mortals but she did have to attend meetings and garden parties where she would eat just to keep appearances, she was not like her sister who quite adored sweets such as cake. Since Twilight had come to the castle though she felt the need to eat with her, even if the mare was blind it still felt wrong to just watch her eat, although she did love watching her, for the longest time Luna has had a crush on Twilight but never brought herself to say anything. When the accident happened, Celestia had found Luna crying into her bed sheets at the night, wailing in pain at her loved ones hurting, wishing to take her place, to take her pain away but the best way to help her now is with the magic of the minds eye, a magic that lets you see without the physical, to peer into the minds vastness.

Just because she had the magic though she did not know how to teach it, it was there since birth, only one alive to date could teach Twilight, but how do I say I want to take her hundreds of miles to an abandoned Island that has only one inhabitant, with the ability to see without seeing, all of a sudden the doors to the dining room opened making Luna turn to that direction, a soft smile crossed her face as she saw Twilight.

Miss Tea Leaf lead Twilight around the large dining table to where Luna was sat, "This way miss Twilight," Twilight felt the seat and sat down waiting for Luna, "Well then, Twilight, Princess, I will take my leave," bowing, she turned to leave, Twilight heard hoofsteps leaving the room and then the doors closing.

Twilight turned her head right to left trying to see if she could hear which direction Luna was sat, "L-Luna, which side are you on," Twilight asked.

Replying with a hoof, Luna placed a hoof on Twilights arm, "this way Twilight. How are you feeling," When she answered Twilight she saw her smile widely and calm down.

Accepting the arm, Twilight held it whilst she talked, holding onto Luna's arm was a thing she got use to now, Urm, I feel much better now but I have to ask, Miss Tea mentioned about how I looked and it is worrisome, o you have any Idea what is causing this."

Luna cringed slightly, thankful that Twilight could not see her reaction to what she said, "I am afraid not but for now don't worry we will find out what has happened, your muscles have toned down and you look very ill, I also have tried to give you my magic over the last two days but you keep getting weaker," Luna was shocked when Twilight replied with a 'yes I know', Twilight knew that her magic was depleting and it didn't trouble her, well it didn't sound like it did, "Are you not worried," Luna asked.

Twilight looked saddened but sighed before answering, "I would be lying if I said no but I think it will be fine soon, I can spend my time with you," I knew my magic was depleting but I never knew she was supplementing me with her magic, Twilight shifted a bit as a sound of a door could be heard from the opposite direction that Miss Tea left.

A blond maned Stallion had come up to the right of the two, "Mademoiselle's, might I take your order," His french accent was very strong but he could speak quite clearly so there was no trouble with understanding him.

Luna moved a hoof to her mouth and coughed slightly, "Un beau matin pour vous, to you, Creme' Caramel," Luna said in as best french she could.

The chef let out a hearty laugh as he smiled, "Oh ho ho, your majesty, your french gets better by the day, so then, what do we want today, something sweet, or something filling, anything you wan' miss Twilight?" He asked.

Twilight put a hoof to her chin in deep thought, putting her tongue out slightly, Luna chuckled at how cute she looked, Creme is always great at making pancakes, but I had that yesterday, oh forget it, I'll have them again I cant decide, Twilight turned to the direction of where she heard Creme', "Please could I have pancakes again, creme?" she asked with a smile.

He nodded as he jotted down something on a piece of paper before looking up at them, "Of course my dear, back toot sweet, I will make the greatest pancakes we have to offer," he left for the kitchen, leaving them both alone yet again.

Time passed by, the same conversations they usually had, Twilight conversed on what she thought on subjects that happened throughout Luna's day, she liked to hear about what had happened in her day, making a mental image of Luna, at her desk with a quill in magical blue hue, marking sheets one by one. Only stopping for the sweet smell of syrup coming into the room.

Twilight let her mind drift into the sweetness of the smell, "Oh wow, it smells so good," the only problem now was that, since she could not see, she could not use her magic to eat, so now it usually was Luna who helped her, even though Luna says its a servant who does it but she won't let them since it was her guilty pleasure of feeding Twilight. Twilight recognized Luna's magic though but never said anything about it because it made her feel happy, her friend was doing so much for her, although she didn't know what the true meaning was.

In a hushed voice Luna said, "So cute," as she helped Twilight eat.

Twilights ears flickered from the small whisper, "What was that?" Twilight asked.

Luna nearly dropped the fork in her magic as her face turned bright red, she stumbled the words out, "Oh nothing," the blushing grew furiously worse, "let me get that for you," Luna picked up a cloth and wiped a bit of escaped syrup, the patch where it was left a sticky mess, "I think we might need a shower after this," she said putting the cloth back down and carrying on assisting Twilight.

After swallowing the last bit of pancake, Twilight said, "Thank you Luna," she leaned over to Luna and put her arm around her, making the princess turn a brighter pale of red but she then leaned into the embrace accepting the gesture.

After all the food, and mess, both left the dining halls to go the the bathing area, not far from Luna's quarters but it was good to walk off the breakfast, "well then, we'll get cleaned up and then we can talk about the trip I want to take you on," Twilight looked confused at this.

"Trip?" Twilight asked.

Luna cleared her throat and began speaking, "Yes, I said I had somepony to show you how to see again, she knows a way to get you to see but it won't be the physical kind of seeing" Luna pushed the door open for Twilight to walk in, "First things first though is to get your fur clean, come this way," using her Tail she pulled Twilight over to a huge round bath, placing her in the middle.

Twilight hit the water that began filling the bath, "AHH! that's cold," jumping slightly at the water, it still needed to warm up, "Finally, its getting warmer," Luna then sat next to her in the bath as it started to fill more, "I'm so sorry you have to do this for me everyday Luna"

Luna lent into Twilight to comfort her, "Don't worry, its my pleasure to do it, trust me, I would do anything to please you, ask and I will assist you," earning a blush from Twilight, she began to lather Twilights mane, being careful to not get any near her eyes, "you are one of my dearest friends, you are my best friend Twilight, I have no one who is as close to me, I would give you the world," That sounded a bit flirty, oh no please don't take it that way, she quickly made herself busy by turning the taps off.

Twilight slightly mumbled, "Oh well um, thank you Luna," Her speech came out awkwardly while she blushed.

The rest of the bathing was in silence, quickly over with bathing both mares leave to head to Luna's room, on arrival there is a table set up with tea and snacks that the maids prepared, "Twilight, you sit here and then I will get started, okay," A quick nod was her only answer.

Luna cleared her throat before carrying on, "Okay, when I first came to pick you up in ponyville I had wanted to take you straight away but I could not do that without your consent, so I will ask you, would you trust me to take you to a far off continent where a magical witch doctor will teach you to access your inner spirit." she stated bluntly.

Trying to process the information Twilight blurted out, "M...m-my what? Inner spirit? I am confused," She said.

Luna placed a hoof above Twilights, "I am basically saying to teach you to see again, I have the ability but not the knowledge to teach, so this pony is the only one I have known to have this ability, during my stay on the moon when Nightmare moon had her grip on my sanity, in the deep regresses of my mind I was contacted by this individual and when I finally awoke thanks to your help I had visited her, so will you let me do this, will you let me take you to Caecus Island," she more pleaded, than asked.

Many things ran through Twilights head but one thing struck true, Luna has done so much to help me, I guess trusting her with this would be more than enough, I owe her my sanity. I would go crazy without her at the moment., "I.....I-I trust you, I'll go,"
Twilight replied.

A loud *EEEEEE* was heard from Luna, "we shall help thee Twilight, *cough* I mean, I will help you, we can leave soon but first, tea and cookies," Luna said striking a hoof in the air.

Voodoo?!.......... What?

After yesterdays events was over it pretty much went like the rest of the days, Luna had kept Twilight company until she fell asleep but she had some thoughts running through her head all the time she did keep her company, today she had to fess up what was on her mind that worried her, "Okay, so you did agree yesterday but I think there will be a bit more to this," Luna admitted to the smaller lavender mare who was sat with her having morning tea.

Twilights ears perked up, as Twilight became confused, "Luna, what are you talking about?" Twilight asked with genuine wonder..

Luna began explaining as Twilight fiddled with her cup, trying to lift it with her hooves, "Well first would be, I don't know how long it will take for you to learn this ability, that is if the pony I am taking you to will even teach it to you. I had some of the guards prep the airship this morning so that we could set off, come this way and we'll move to the airship," Luna said as she picked up Twilight with her arm, making said arm nearly drop the now empty cup but luckily caught it and placed it down before getting up.

Luna quickly took off with Twilight at her side, "Sorry about that but if we wanna get moving it will take a while to get there, okay then first there is actually a great amount of danger, the reason why this island only one inhabitant is due to the predators and carnivorous plants that make their homes there, I found it really strange that this seemingly normal elderly mare could live here but when I finally met her I understood how, she was not normal by a long shot. She was well past her years and had much vast knowledge in the practices your friend Zecora," Luna began explaining in further detail.

Twilight between breathes from the rush tried to ask as best as she could, "So what your saying is that, first when we get there we could be eaten before we get to her, second if we do get there she might not agree to teach me and then we would have to get back again through the dangers, I thought you could speak to her through you're ability to go into ponies dreams? Also how can a seemingly normal unicorn live as long as you say she had?" they were nearing the east side of the castle where the royal chariots and air ships would land.

Luna replied answering the questions in turn as best she could, "Well I can communicate in dreams with her yes but the fact is she only would talk to me when I was the one sleeping, I know it sounds weird but I mean only when she entered my dreams would she speak, plus for the fact she really is not normal. The age she has is nearing a few hundred years for how long I had been conscious of her being alive," Luna said with a bit of regret knowing her answers were not adequate but would have to do for now until she let Twilight meet the mare.

As they began to slow down to a light walking pace Twilight caught her breathe before saying, "Well that's........... rather awkward but okay, still if there is a chance that I can learn this I at least want to try asking her whether she would teach me," That is if the mare is really able to, I'm not even sure if Luna knows if she really could, Twilight felt an ache in her shoulder blade, only a small ache so she pushed it to the back of her mind.

On the Air Ship

It was a new sensation of sounds to Twilight, she had never been on one before, air spat the pistons that pushed the doors open, buzzing could also be heard from the underbelly of the craft. Being lead onto the ship by a guard who had met them at the east entrance to the castle both Twilight and Luna came to the front where ponies would usually sit but for this trip they would be the only passengers, Twilights ears liked the new sensations but she was much happier with the quite of this new room, "Its much less noisy here thankfully, how long do you think it will take to get there Luna?" she asked gaining Luna's attention from where she watched the workers move crates and do their jobs.

Luna turned and moved her hoof to Twilight, who gladly accepted it, "It shouldn't be too long, around five hours or so, for a trip that far is quite fast, over a thousand years ago we never had these contraptions," wonder in her tone of voice, it was clear to Twilight that she was fascinated with how her generation began making new technology, she also found out that Luna had spent a large amount of time on a handheld game, it was fun at the time getting little bits of information on Luna from Miss Tea.

Twilight sighed at having to wait so long to get to her destination, Oh well at least this means I get to spend the day talking with Luna, she is usually to busy during the day, "Well since it is going to take so long what do you want to do in the mean time?" she asked, Twilights ears flicked up at the sudden movement of the vehicle as the air craft departed it's station.

Luna glanced over to the satchel she brought with them, she carried it in her magic as they came to the ship, "Hmm, how about a few stories to pass the time, I brought along some books to read you," Luna moved her wing to grab the satchel, It held three books of different colors.

Twilight scrunched her nose and stuck her tongue out again, unbeknownst to her this was becoming a common tick she was getting that Luna really liked, "Let me guess, the next of Doctor Whooves: Plague of the Cyberponies," Twilight chuckled as Luna turned red, lucky for her Twilight couldn't see her Princess looking like a tomato, "It truly surprised me to find out that you were a hoovian Luna but it was a good thing to me, we have more in common,"

Both mares chuckled, Luna began reading to Twilight as they both talked and chatted on the subject of Doctor Whooves adventure. Hours passed as they ran through the books one by one until a call on the ships speakers, called over the radio, "Caecus Island in sight, ten minutes until landing, Crew get to positions, that is all," Closing the book and placing it on the table Luna stood and helped Twilight to get up, then headed towards the back of the ship.

Both Twilight and Luna received protective equipment and waterproof satchels with rations for their journey to where ever this mare called home, Twilight heard a Stallions voice what was slightly muffled by the racket of the engines, "Okay Princess, we will wait here for you both to get back, we will have to float in the distance away from the land, here is your flare, he pointed to the holster on the bags. When you have accomplished what you to do, be sure to point it in the air around this side of the island and we shall come back to this spot, If you aren't back within thirty days we shall send our best in to retrieve you both, good luck," Suddenly Twilight shook as she felt the craft hit the water and skid to a halt on the beach of the island.

Luna nodded to her guard who had fulfilled his duty, now turning to Twilight to help her off, "Lets go Twilight," Luna pulled upon Twilight as they left the craft, soft sand could be felt brushing up against their hooves as the craft departed the island, "okay, stay close, its going to take a while to get there, maybe a day and a bit," Luna took the buckle that dangled on Twilights satchel and clipped it to her own buckle.

Twilight nodded her head, "Okay," There was a harness placed around Twilight so that even in case that she had fallen or anything else that would cause the satchel to come off it had less chance of doing so, "What is that," finally getting her senses back after landing Twilight could feel an energy emitting in front of her. Almost as if a large entity was pulsating in front of her, "What are we staring at?"

Luna looked to the Forrest in front of her and then back at Twilight, "As I said before Twilight, this is an island that was inhabitable for some reasons, one being it had its own wildlife and that wildlife being able to use its own magic, come on now lets get moving," Luna moved forward from the beach were a wall of trees began the forest.

In the dense terrain of the jungle

Hours passed of moving through the humid jungle, presences lingered in the distance never coming close or leaving their side, the jungle was beginning to take a tall on Twilight as she was slowing down quite a bit, her shoulder from earlier in the day was also making itself known by its searing heat and pain striking through her like a dart, "Luna, wait I have to rest I can't keep up like this," Being an Alicorn meant that Luna had in nearly no amount to her stamina when it came to a light stroll in a jungle.

When Luna turned to Twilight it was hard to keep a straight face, something was happening to the lavender mare, she was getting extremely thin. Not the thin like before at the castle, it was much worse seeing this little mare gasping for breathes and her bones clearly poking her skin but her magic wasn't depleting so it shouldn't be happening, Luna cringed slightly as she focused on Twilights ribs move in and out as she breathed, "Okay its quite dark now so I think we should rest for the night, you will have to bare with me a bit longer Twilight, we have to find somewhere dry," she looked around the forest seeing a far off opening that seemed promising.

They moved quick, finding a rock formation that made a dry patch of field underneath it for them to make a small fire, the forest was quite like that of the everfree meaning any form of magic that they held now was quite literally useless so Luna used some of her supplies to create a fire for them to use, "just wait and we can get you something to eat," Luna began digging through the satchel, seeing her friend looking like she was on deaths door never felt right, the last time she was in this position she was a very different being and she would not let another she loved die.

Twilight after many pained breathes and filling her body to the best of her ability was fast asleep after finishing letting Luna watch over her. As she began to dream she saw Orange and red that flitted the forests pitch black, eyes of predators awaited the prey to sleep, Luna never did, she wouldn't.

Inside the Darkness

Twilight woke up to nothing, not nothing but still nothing, she could feel a presence but not see it, no surprise there I'm blind, she thought into the darkness.

All of a sudden a voice shot from the darkness, making Twilight jump, "You make yourself blind, pull yo' head out of your behind," hoof steps drew closer, "what you see with yo' eye is but an illusion, look with yo' mind to stop the confusion," The mares voice was groggy and sounded very old.

Twilight fwipped her head in both directions in vain remembering she was blind, "Who are you, wheres Luna?" a low growl came from her on instinct.

The mares voice was calm and collected but sounded very foreign, "Who am I, am me, who ar' you is the question, the answer has been answered but it is not I that needs it, it is yo' that is in need of it," the mare said in a confusing riddle.

"What are you talking about?" Twilight blurted out, annoyed that she could not see her and now that she was talking in riddles it all seemed the more annoying.

"You are but a pupa, you need to spread your wings and fly but you know not how to, you are caged by yo' own mind child, free you I will, but first you must pass my test, only then will I let you truly rest," her voice echoed back into the darkness.

The quiet pitch black was back but now something vibrated throughout the air around Twilight, what was it, magic, it was as if the magic in the air was dancing and weaving through the air toward Twilight, she could see the colors that the Magic held, Wait I can see that, All of a sudden a large mass of orange magic started hurtling toward Twilight.

Then she awoke................

Twilight could tell that Luna was stood in front of her holding what sounded to be a large creature, Luna's voice echoed into existence as her ears rang, "TWILIGHT!! we have to run, quickly," Whatever it was it was after them, being pulled by Luna both mares began to sprint............ flickers of light began to form in Twilights mind........ red ............ blue............. a green leaf............... as they rushed faster Twilights blood pumped through her faster, somehow she knew when to dodge what was in her path, Tree branch........... bark on the floor.... another branch....... bush's.... she could see colors slightly that popped in her head, "Keep moving, were nearly out of its reach," Luna looked back and was amazed at how Twilight was moving, almost as if she was dancing and not running, she weaved behind her.

Suddenly Twilight saw that the images stopped, the floor beneath her had disappear, both mares screamed at the suddenness of the drop as they hit rapids, no longer could she see any images and once again she was blinded to the world, she grasped onto Luna, " Luna...... LUNA!!," Luna wasn't moving, as they were pushed downstream the jagged rocks battered into them like they were a ball of a pinball machine, cuts and scrapes began to riddle them both, slowly losing conscious and grip of Luna, Twilight finally gave in to the cruel fate the world gave her............... then she felt a large paw rap around her sides and pull her out of the water, How much more cruel can you make my death, first rapids now a bear, then she passed out.

Out of the Darkness

Warmth, that was what could be felt, crackles could heard, and a very sore shoulder blade, Am I dead, the smell of food, GURGLE!! Guess not,Twilight felt her stomach twist at the thought of food. She lifted her head and immediately regretted doing so, pain shot through her head, she moved a hoof to her head and felt nothing, there is nothing there, nothing.............. my horn, Twilight began to panic as she felt only a nub where her horn was, it must have snapped whilst she was in the rapids.

A old raspy mares voice came from a close distance, "Calm yo' noggin ya' stupid pony, every time I av' yo' as company they always freak," it was the mare from the dream.

Twilight lifted her head through force as she snarled in the place she thought the mare was, "WAIT!! its you, you did this, WHERE IS LUNA!!!" only now realizing she didn't know what happened to her friend.

The mare gave an audible sigh, "I tel' ya' nopony listen anymo' huh, ain't dat right Munkey," a loud screech from an animal sounded as the mare finished her sentence, "Don'y ya' worry bout im' he be armless' to ye'"

Twilight kept her ground, not knowing where Luna made her very agitated, "Where have you put Luna, Where are we?"

"Fine ya fuss, we be in mah' hut, Munkey and Furgus helped me bring ya ear tah' help yah' eal', Luna is over ere', she needs to rest or else her life might be at test," The old mare moved Twilight over to where Luna was laid to calm her, "Just rest and then we can carry on Twilight, very soon it will be time for you to take flight," she stated with a smile.

Finally calm about where she was she moved closer to Luna and laid down, falling asleep again. Once again she starred into the deep vast darkness, it was a cold color, one deprived of life. "you know how to do it now child, look without seeing, see without looking," the voice echoed into the reassesses of Twilights mind as she began to focus on the magic around her, first came a sharp brown that was bounding around and wasn't as big as a pony, next she could feel a large orange but not like the one before. The orange sat still, finally the was the white one that had green magic surrounding it, it was pony sized, "you have finally completed step one child but you av only began to scratch the base of dis ability, soon you will be able to see as clearly as when you had eyes," she said before letting Twilight rest in sleep again, real sleep this time what made Twilight happily accept the gift.

Hours later

Numerous hours pass as she slept, she trained in the corner of her mind, trying to figure out how to keep the images from disappearing, she could hold the images of the light in her mind for a while, The elderly mare kept her in this state with magic so that her subconscious mind would not take over and start making her dream.

She woke up again, this time her stomach was painful, she needed some food and at the moment Luna could do nothing to help her, Luna was just next to Twilight, slow ragged breathes escaped her lips, Twilight could feel the heat emanating from her friend, "H-hello, I think Luna needs some help................ Hello?" she asked, she was very exhausted and felt very weak, her shoulder luckily didn't feel too bad though making Twilight get some pleasure from a good rest but the worry for Luna soon won over the debate of wether her own pleasure mattered right now.

She heard the door and a clatter, "Jus giv me ah sec child, Oy fergy, Oy you big orfe," Twilight heard large thudding, presumably the
bear from yesterday, "Take this ere' chicken and shuv it in de pot fer me will Ye'," An audible but calm roar was heard, "Thats mah boy, now, how do ye feel girl, hungry I spose'"

"I am but that doesn't matter," she lied but was more concerned for Luna, "I think Luna has gotten worse," Twilight said as she nuzzled her friends neck to see if she responded.

Hoof steps came closer, "Don't you worry about this one here, she be tough, she is fine. The reason she seems so sick is that you ponies need to use you inner energy to heal but out here that is blocked, meaning you can only use your natural healing capabilities," she stated more clearer when explaining what would happen to Luna.

Twilight cocked an eyebrow, didn't really look too good, "You know that sounded really smart and well spoken," Twilight said confused, "but whatever, is there any way we can help her, there must be something we could do, my friend Zecora had studied medicinal hurbs and Luna said you knew the same about it, isn't there something to give her to speed her recovery," she pleaded.

"No child, it is what it is, she be fine soon, just a small fever," the smell of food drifted into the room, "Oh fergy that's smelling good, Keep it up an ye' might be getting a treat," she stated, making Twilights tension fade slightly as she placed herself near Luna to comfort her, getting a calming sigh as a reaction from her.

With her worries answered Twilight now wondered about the light, before now she could not have a proper conversation about it, "Erm..... I'm sorry but your name eludes me," she asked.

"Equanza but you can cal' me Q," Q told her, Twilight was surprises by the odd name but shrugged it off.

"Well then, Q, I was wondering about this ability, it seems really simple to use but I cant even seem to grasp it now, there are no colors or shapes, nothing, is it to do with my horn breaking?" Twilight asked.

An audible sigh came, "You know, fer somepony who has a brain the size of a juju fruit you really not that smart girl, I will explain it, What do you think when you here the term see?"

Twilight thought for a second, "Using my eyesight for the definition of seeing someone or something," text book answer usually.

"Spot on child, that would be if we were talking about ye' eyeballs, one in a dream do you use your eyeballs physically?" she said sarcastically.

Unlucky for Twilight she still had a lot to learn and didn't catch how the mare said it, "No but what does that have to do with anything?" Twilight questioned, another roar came from the smell in the kitchen, making Twilights ears twitch.

"Be there in a tic Fergy," She answered the bear, "So since you haven't physically moved your eyeball when you saw these, it tells you it was not sight that picked up these magical signatures, what really happened was, your body when sleeping opens up to the natural magic that surrounds you. The subconscious mind does this as your conscious mind is being distracted, that is usually in dreams but what we did with you is force you into realizing it in your dream and then try to rip it into your conscious mind as you awoke, sadly the coldness of the rapids shook your mind fully awake and broke the mold we were putting in your mind"

Hoofsteps wandered off into the distance, a few minute later they came back as a thud was heard on the wood in front of her, a wonderful smell drifted up to her nose that made her stomach grumble, "Whats this?" not really catching on from being slightly drowsy from her injuries and being exhausted.

"Food you crazy pony, now eat before the food goes cold on ye', after that I will explain the rest," Q said.

As asked Twilight ate the meal in silence, so did Q, a few minutes later when they had finished Q came over to Luna and slowly fed her so that she did not get any weaker than she already was, apparently even when a body doesn't need netrients from food, when in a place such as this forest it became a necessary to eat, "Okay, back to explaining, your main question was how to use the ability while awake, that for now is not possible for you, as I have said the answer is there but you must discover it. The answer comes to your conscious mind at a later date, think about how to use your senses to feel around you, the smell, the sounds and finally the magic that is in the air, it shapes the world and binds it, this is where we shall start"

Once again Q came closer to Twilight but this time pulled her up to stand, "Follow me and we will begin your training," they moved out of her hut, a few minutes passed and Twilight could hear water off in the distance, "I am going to take you to a place rich with magic, your job is to be able to use this magic"

"But my horn its broke, I really can't see me using it anytime soon, it'l be at least three or four months before the bone begins to grow back," Twilights face contoured in pain and anger at what had happened to her beloved horn.

"Again you are thinking with sight, what is the physical form is but an illusion, your horn might have broke but that does not take away the ability to sense and use magic, the only thing it stops is your magic, what we need for you to learn is to use natural magic, the magic that surrounds us all," finally the sound of water was loud and Twilight could feel the light breeze the water carried, the area also felt very powerful, "Train here, no animal comes near here, you will be safe, remember to not try to see but to feel, once you have felt the magic we can begin step two"

Twilight took her place on a rock as Q began walking away, confused because she could already feel the magic but she thought again about what she meant and decided best to meditate and try to touch the magic and try to use it, "I will be back in a few hours, and don't worry about your friend she will still be safe," with that Q left Twilight to the calm nature, there she began her first steps of training.

A spectrum of colors that cannot be seen.

The air buzzed with magic, the water ran fast and quick as the breeze came off of its surface, the fur on a lavender muzzle flicked in the wind as the mare it belonged too was as still as the rock she sat upon. It had felt like a week or so had passed since Twilight had started training, Luna was still not awake but she was sounding a lot better, she slept soundly and her coughing had gone. For the week Twilight had spent her days at the waterfall, slowly she was beginning to get into a state where the colors of her surroundings had become more visible in her mind.

Twilight breathed in and out slowly as she let her mind drift, her subconscious wandered to the front of her mind as she remembered memories of past, then came the colors. Two silver blobs, blobs because she could not fine tune the image like Q said she will be able too after training, these two blobs were in the vast of the blue magic that was flowing and running very fast just next to her. She sighed as she began to move trying to keep in the state of mind she was but bringing it to her conscious mind, much like static on her old Panascony Branco she used to own the image became even more of a mess. Q told her that it was like a muscle that has never been used and it needed to be trained, push too hard the muscle will rip though she was warned.

It wasn't long before Q came back to pick Twilight up, she was actually a very wise and interesting mare, although a tad cooky to Twilight but nevertheless fun to talk to and learn from. It was either her or Furgus that picked her up, she also found that Furgus was quite a nice bear, she wouldn't have thought that a logical response without the name 'Fluttershy' entering the sentence but one night when she was shivering from the cold after giving Luna her own quilt from her shivering he had come over and made her jump at first but then laid down next to her to keep her company. A familiar roar brought her completely out of her trance as she turned her head to the direction of the noise with perked ears.

Twilight turned around completely, "Heya Furgus, here to pick me up, I was kinda getting hungry," Though I barely have a stomach to fill now, Twilight moved forward to find a big fuzzy bear, "Is Luna up yet?" A low grumble from the bear is all the answer she got, Not yet then, I hope she wakes soon, Furgus lead down the path back to the hut, Twilight would probably go straight to Luna like she always does.

It didn't take long to get back, Twilight even bet without sight she could get back by memory but Q wouldn't let her, she said it was best to have either Furgus or her walk her back, Twilight knew it was the right choice but seemed to be a little bit.......... bored of sticking to rules which kind of worried her. In all of Twilights life she lived by a schedule, followed the Princess' orders and lived a really fun life with never having thought anything would bore her, it's strange but since she enter the jungle she was feeling more alive, outgoing eve but she couldn't shake that out of body worry that domed over her like an anchor.

"Child, how goes your trainin', any look on that magic yet?" Q asked as both the bear and Twilight entered the hut, "not as easy as it looks is it, this is nearly seven days, anye' av'n had no rest either, for tonight why don't yah keep Luna's company, we have to run some errands anyway,"

Twilight took careful paces over to where she knew Luna would be, "I-I still can't grasp the magic, I guess a small breather would do good and I think that looking after Luna shouldn't be too hard, what errands you got?" Twilight asked.

Q giggle, Ever curious this one, "I am in need of some erbs', we ran out of some califrei and bunsai so me and Munkey are heading up into the denser forest to get some, should only take around four or five hours," Stating like it was just a regular walk in the park.

Twilight tried her best to look as shocked as possible but she wasn't so good at facial expressions anymore, somehow it helped to see how you looked every now and then, "F-four hours, just for flowers, even when I was helping Zecora it didn't take up that much time,"

Q giggled again, "Twilight, where you came from was but a village, we are at an island full of undiscovered animals and plants, twud' do ye' wonders tah' realize that soon or you'll end up in a balazor's mouth girl,"

"Whats a balazor? I'm guessing its a big and nasty, and for some reason orange"

"You wouldn't be wrong on that one deary, nasty critters that will take yer' left hoof and then return for seconds the next day tah' spite yah'," Q said in a dark tone, "Promise me girl you will never go out in the woods without Furgy or me, It's not safe"

"I Pinkie promise, cross my heart and hope to fly," she began doing the action Pinkie had taught her years before, "stick a cup cake in my eye, I promise that I won't ever break it"

In the distance a very familiar shriek shouted, "EVER!!" then the noise went back to birds chirping leaving both Q and Twilight a little surprised.

"Do I even wanna?"

Twilight deadpanned, "Nope, trust me on that one, anyway when do you set off," Twilight asked.

Q was moving about the hut as Twilight could hear things shifting, "around ten minutes or so, its around midday now so I'm afraid that I will be back just after sunset, can ye' handle the fort while i'm gone girl," she said sarcastically.

"Don't make light of this here unicorn, I might be blind and magic.... erm............ magicless?" she said half questioning the word, "but I still can scream pretty loud, plus we have your wards up, I'm not worried and don't forget Furgus, right Furgy," Twilights face was met with a fish smelling sopping wet tongue to the cheek, "Argh! Furgy that gross, hehe"

"Alright you two, I'll be back soon, C'mon Munkey!! lets get rolling," as Q walked off Twilight rubbed away the slabber and sighed in relief, even though she put up a tough act she felt like she was breaking inside, her bones ached and felt extremely hot, maybe I'm getting the cold Luna had, I hope I do because then she would wake up faster, that reminds me Rarity once said that..... k-k-kissing passes it on faster but I would never......... no I-I wouldn't, Twilight paused as she could hear Luna's breathe from where she lay, slow steady breathes came from the alicorn, Twilight moved closer to her and bent down placing her cheek on Lunas to see if she was too hot. Ofcourse she hot, not what I meant, calm down sparkle. I-I can't can I? NO! she is my friend there is no way, w-what.... what if its for science.

That was a new low for Twilight and she knew but she really didn't care, when she thought of Luna she couldn't keep her mind from wondering how tender her lips would be, how sweet would it be but she was vulnerable and it was unfair, it ate at Twilight to think of doing this but it ate at her at the thought of not doing it. For science Pointless, for friendship it wasn't like that, but then............, then Twilight did what she thought she couldn't, she lent down.

Luna's breathe tickled Twilights muzzle, it was a surprisingly sweet smell not at all what she thought it would be, Twilights mind race of all the possibilities. What if she wakes up or she doesn't and I never tell her or....or....... Oh bugger it, Twilight pushed forward not thinking straight, their lips entwined as the taste of Luna entered her senses, it was amazing, like a drug Twilight didn't know what this feeling was, she felt the happiest she ever was but....... but saddened that Luna was not awake to share the experience. A few seconds pass as Twilight begins to notice she was quickly running out of air, she began to pull away but Luna's arm rapped around her pulling her into an embrace, Don't wake up, Luna no please no, unfortunately she never found out if Luna woke up or not, she passed out.

Here again, really? is the world really out to get me, I bet Luna thinks I am really weird now, Twilight sighed into the darkness, "What can I do to fix this?"

"How about you turn around first and talk?"

Twilight immediately span around and saw Luna, Wait, I'm seeing her, "I can see you, L-Luna I can actually see you"

"Yes well we are in my mind but I am still trying to figure out how you got here and why your in darkness over there?" Luna said, genuine wonder in her voice.

"You mean you don't know what I did"

"What? what did you do?" Luna asked.

Twilight stumbled to get her words out, "W-well I....... I kind of.......w-well.........erm, I fell over banged my head and ended up here, Yep, nothing else happened," Twilight lied through her teeth and not very well as Luna picked up on it.

"Riiight~" Luna said, suspicious but she wouldn't press the matter if the one she liked looked so troubled over the matter.

Twilight felt like this was a dream come true but as she took in her surroundings she found it to be a little disturbing how different the two sides of the world were, on Twilights side there was a black liquid that made up the floor, it was solid but it moved like water and the sky was black, not just black but literally black, darkness incarnate. Luna's however was the complete opposite, gardens and flower beds as far as the eye can see, stars and the moon donned her sky, Twilight moved forward over to Luna's side slowly.

Just before the crease where Luna's world met Twilights she stopped, she was scared of this border, one line was stopping her from entering to Luna's mind but what would happen once she did but why did she think this, she had done this before, when she was a child she had done training in the same way but back then her world or mind was much more, well more.

She slowly inched toward the line as Luna watched on, for some reason even she felt tense and something wasn't sitting right with what was happening but she was too focused on Twilight to stop her, finally Twilight began by placing her hoof down on the grass of Luna's mind.........................nothing happened. Thinking it was safe she began another step and then felt her first hoof was weird.

She removed her second hoof and moved back to look at her first, her eyes spread wide in shock, her hoof had dissolved into white orbs of light, she quickly retreated and as her hoof passed the line the white orbs aligned and built her hoof back together. Twilight lifted her hoof to look at it, "What happened to it, it-i-it dissolved, you saw that right, I think your mind just attacked me"

Luna was shocked running all the way to the crease and mumbling, "No I would never do that to you, never you, no! Believe me Twilight, I don't know what happened," Luna hesitantly stretched her hoof over to the border between the crease to hold Twilights, Twilight moved her hoof up and slowly pressed it against Luna's, a spark of magic made them jerk back. Unknowing to both mares the instant they touched, something passed from Luna's world into Twilights.

They decided on just talking for now, even if it felt weird not to be holding each others hoof, it became a natural occurrence now and they felt naked not doing so, even when they are already naked. The hours passed and after a while they had parted, Twilight had awoken to the darkness again as Q came back, she noticed she was really comfy and warm, a soft warmness was on her right and a big fuzzy body was on her left and were both still asleep.

Q walked over and bent down talking in a hushed tone, "Hope you had fun whilst I was gone, I got mah' supplies so for tonight we don't have to do anythin' else, unless you want to practice for a bit," Twilight just shook her head and closed the eye that had peeked open on reflex, it seemed weird to be able to see clearly in her mind, maybe that was what she would be able to do soon, "Well then child, I'll be sleeping then, mornin' come we will start Stage two of the training"

A burden too great, words come unbeknownst to the one who speaks them

A few days had passed, Luna was still out for the count but for some reason whenever Twilight slept she could enter a world that connected her and Luna's mind's, so it wasn't like she was in any bad condition, rather she was just peachy but she said she needed to recover her lost magic before she would wake and she said that would take around another week. She began her second step of training, Q said that it really wasn't any need to touch the magic yet, she just wanted Twilight to be able to attain the state to see magic.

Twilight now was training to build magic from outside of her body, strangely it was now quite easy in terms of how fast she was learning, true she wasn't the master of gathering magic but she now was quite adept at natural water magic, its very strange. Twilight when she was studying under Celestia had in fact learnt about the color of ones magic, it represents ones soul but now she understood it was more than just a soul, it held a second color, one the eye cannot see, one color is for you mark, your magic, and the one that is unseen is the type of magic you are most adept with. This one fact made it quite clear, the first time she saw Q she had the colour of green floating around her white, the white was the color her magic had when seeing it but since her other color was green she learnt she was best with magic that involved plant life and the earth they stood upon.

Luna on the other hand was a pale blue but the magic that slowly emanated from her horn was pure white, Q had said that no one she had know in all her life has had pure white Magic because it represented the celestial bodies that Luna and Celestia inhabit on this earthen plane, this was the point that was confusing, Q admitted that there was one and only one non-alicorn who had actually got Pure white magic, It was Twilight herself.

The indications were astronomically ridiculous, she was not and had not ever been anything close to a celestial being, she never would be she was just you average maybe slightly really good Unicorn who used magic extremely well, why wouldn't she she was the student to one said alicorns but this could not and would not prove to be useful as to why she held celestial magic.

For now though she concentrated on the two fish who had become accustomed to their silent visitor, Twilight stuck her hoof in the water and laid her head down facing her submerged hoof, the Two silver outlined fish swan up to the hoof giving light pecks upon it, investigating and recognizing the creature. She did not disturb then in the least, it was weird, a week before she would do the same and the fish in the small pond that banked away from the river had stayed as far away from her, now all the fish and animals that were of kind nature seem to flock to her.

Twilight sighed, "whats happening, my body feels horrible but my mind is as clear as day, truthfully I would usually be making up crazy ideas of what will happen usually but now I feel calm and at ease, strange isn't it," all she heard in reply was a blurb as bubbles rose to the top of the water, "guess you don't know either huh?" even with everything that was happening she was calm and it used to scare her but now she didn't know what to think of what she felt.

At the hut

Q began to meditate next to Luna, she awoke just across from her in her hut, not any different from the one her physical body was in, "Your majesty, it is nice to see you,"

"As I you, but please just call me Luna, I am but a simple mare, no titles," Luna said with a grim disposition but quickly made way for a smile, "How is Twilight doing"

"That is why I am here, the child is growing adept in the ways of outer magic but I am afraid she doe's not have long," Q grimmaced as Luna's face dropped.

Luna stomped forward into Q's mind, "Explain! Now!"

Q stayed calm and composed even in the face of an alicorn, "It is not easy to accept but I am afraid that her body is dying, that I am sure of, I keep checking on her magic level without her knowledge and there is no edge to it anymore, it is not a sea but a vast universe of magic and I am afraid that is the cause her body is failing. Just yesterday she only ate one small baby potato out of a full bowl of soup, it truly filled her though, I am worried, this has never happened before and from your reaction you have never seen this either"

A lump was slowly forming in the Princess' stomach, getting bigger as she rolled the information around in her head, "So what now, we just sit here or do we tell her, what is the point in her training? its pointless now without hope, we need to find a way to heal her ailment"

Q shook her head as she sighed deep fully, "The only thing keeping her alive now is the training itself, soon she won't be able to stop her trance just to keep alive, I suspect in five days she will be fully integrated into her subconscious and no longer able to make her way back, after which she will slowly deteriorate back to Equine where her soul will be born anew, there is no chance of survival, I have checked, I tried many remedies, I even went up the mountain for specific roots that were used upon your sister many years ago," Q stated.

Luna's world behind them went from luscious fields of many hues to one of a dark ice ridden wasteland, her sky was blocked out by dense clouds as it stayed there, "So what, we keep her in the dark and let her die, NOO!! she boomed in the Traditional Canterlot Voice before collapsing to the ground with tears pouring out, "What.... what do I do?"

Q moved to the Alicorn and pulled her chin up, "Child, my dear for the age you are you are so young, the years tainted your heart but it planted anew and set the buds of life into a beautiful flower, why not pass that flower to the one who most appreciates it"

Luna looked slightly confused but caught on after a second, "it might not be long but it will be ours," she said sniffling, "When she comes back tonight I will confess my feelings, all of them, my gratitude, my honest feelings of looking up to her as a role model and finally the feeling I had locked away for many years under the dark cold tundra that was Nightmare moon," Luna began to cry slightly, "M-my heart"

Q moved back from the embrace, now that the alicorn knew what to do it was time, time that Twilight knew what was going to happen no less than a week from now.

Back at the pond

Twilight had fallen asleep with her hand still in the water, instead of sleeping though she found herself back in her mind, her subconscious mind. Twilight wasn't all that surprised at her little piece of world she now had gotten used to, now though it was different, by different she literally meant the word, the vast black of the sky was now an unparalleled pure white that would blind anypony if they saw it with equine eyes, not a big change but a change no less, as she looked around she found herself looking to the floor or should I say the sea beneath her. The water that was black was now a vast pale pink of glitter dust that swam the water beneath her, something caught her eye, it was a fish, no incorrect two fish that were Identical apart from there color. One was a lavender color and one was Pure white but somehow was black as well, both fish had swam just close enough to circle Twilight, it was beautiful. It was quite a sight but on closer inspection Twilight noticed that the Lavender fish's scales were dulled and it swam without vigor almost as if it was slowing down, unlike the lavender fish the white one was fast but whenever it came next to the Lavender fish it kept pace not to make it feel unwanted, Unwanted?.

Twilights thought caught her off guard, even if that's possible which Twilight deduced usual isn't at all but it did nonetheless she thought about what she meant, why was the fish being thought of as unwanted, She sat for a while watching the fish play noticing they both glowed ever so slightly, although the white dd so more. Then they came right in front of Twilight and made a circling movement and they blended at the speed they were moving, all that was left was a tinted purple circle with white specks all around it, it felt ominous but calming, something didn't feel right but it just was, i-it was now but not before.

Then once they stopped circling she noticed that only one fish was left, remnants of the lavender fish had somehow blotched onto the white fish, it still looked beautiful but this actually scared her, it made the lavender fish disappear and didn't bat and eye, if it could, at doing so. It delved deeper and deeper into the vast ocean of pink, pulling the dust as it did, draining all color like a plug that was pulled it disappeared replaced by emptiness once again, that is when she awoke in the grips of Q as she shook her body.

"Twilight, Twilight! wake up ya' damn filly, you can't do this yet, not so soon"

"Do what? I don't feel so good," she turned to her left sensing the silver fish, now she wish she hadn't, one of the fish lay there at the top of the pond a black blotch in the colors of the magic as the one silver fish swam around it in mourning. She cringed and looked away, somehow she felt the fish's feelings of sadness.

"Never mind child, a-are you okay, how do you feel," Q asked checking over her, slightly gasping at what she realised, This is not good, she really does not have long, no less than around two days now, WHAT HAPPENED!!, "Twilight can you stand, we have to get back," A small growl behind her what was low but not scary alerted them that Furgus had followed.

"Hello Furgy. I think I will be able to stand," Twilight began to move until an audible crunch made her fall to the ground and wince in pain, "My shoulder, i-it h-hurts so m-much"

Q quickly looked over the joint, then going wide eyed, there............ there is no joint there anymore, Twilights joint had ground itself to dust as her body now started its deterioration, "Furgus, carfully lift Twilight, we have to take her back, there isn't much time left," A small tear escaped the elderly mare as Furgus picked up Twilight as carefully as his pad's could do so.

They had rushed at a pace that wasn't dangerous to Twilight but it wasn't a stride but more of a fast walk, Twilight was now breathing heavy, her breathes came out raspy and wheezy, suddenly she coughed, only Furgus noticed the blood and alerted Q by a set of growls he learned, "This is really bad, her time is unpredictable, it matter not now, if she doesn't get to Luna in time it will all be in vain, hurry," They picked there pace up and arrived in the hut after around five minute, maybe six they did not know from rushing.

Furgus moved to Luna and placed Twilight next to her, Twilight opened one eye and smiled as a tear dropped from her face, she tried to lift her hoof over to the alicorn but the joint in the arm snapped making it flail to the ground, so Furgus carefully pushed her to Luna, where Twilight lay her head over Luna's in content as she moved to sleep and enter the trance.

Moment later she was back in her mind, no more white no more black, it was a literal sense of nothing, across from her stood Luna in her wasteland, tears that riddled her face seeming to dry up in an instant only to start again, Twilight moved without moving her legs, more glided down to her than anything. Luna was first to speak, "I-I have something to tell you, it won't take long, will you listen," Twilight nodded, not having much strength she chose not to speak, "I really didn't think that this would happen so soon, I-I," slurred words and tears that riddled her face grew tenfold, "I don't want this to happen Twilight but I can not do anything to stop it, your, you......," Luna was stopped by a hoof Twilight had risen, in this world she had no bones that was broken because that wasn't her body, her eyes told Luna that she already knew as one tear fell from her face.

Luna steadied herself for a second knowing herself now from Twilights reaction there wasn't much time, "Twilight for the next things I will be honest, the most honest I have ever been, not even Celestia has heard what I will tell you, I have never admitted it," Luna moved to the edge of the wasteland where the drop into nothing began, "Since you had released me from my darkness I have never been so in debt and grateful to anypony before, you might say I owe you nothing but I really do, you Twilight you are my role model, Twilight I-......I," she breathed one last breathe.

"I love you," Luna looked on as Twilight smiled.

Twilight came closer to the barriers where her tundra started and pushed over the line walking to Luna, the corrosion had already began on her hooves, "NO! Twilight, stop, go back you'll disappear," Twilight just smiled and calmly walked towards the Frozen Alicorn, until she was just in front of her.

Twilight finally lent forward and wrapped her arms around Luna, putting her muzzle right next to Luna's, "Luna," she began in a quiet voice, "I love you too," the alicorn began crying, Twilight moved back from the hug and stared in Luna's tear riddled face, then she lent in and pressed her lips against Luna's.

Luna accepted this as the one moment she will never truly forget as long as she lived but it was short lived as Twilight began to changes to bright white light, it started slow, moving up her legs and then over her barrel, all the way until it met where they were kissing.

Luna cursed Immortality for being so cruel, Twilight had dissipated into billions of white lights and drifted back into her nothingness and disappeared from her, that is when she awoke.

As she opened her eyes, from the blur she could see dots of light drifting into the air away from her, the last magic of her loved one as she returned to the source, the Equine plane, she cried.

A few weeks later back at Canterlot

Luna had thrown herself back into work after the loss of Twilight, it was the only way she could stay sane. When she left the Island Q had asked her to stay and learn. away from the business of society to calm her, she felt angry at her suggestion of simply training to calm down but she realized that what she was doing no was no less different, she ignored the subject.

Celestia hadn't come out from her room since she heard the news, she stopped court and had not even talked to her closest subjects, Cadance had come to govern for now, even when she and Twilights family were grieving, she would be strong because she knew her favorite little filly wouldn't want her to be saddened but it was a hard task, the hardest she has ever had to do.

They held a ceremony for her, as student to the Alicorn of the sun, it was held at noon during the day, though there was no body they made a small monument in her name, Twilight Sparkle, Brilliant student, the best of friends, and the one star brightest in the night sky. It now sat in the middle of a large field, it was secluded only for those that were related to the crown, she may as well have been directly.

The ceremony took a lot out of many ponies but the ones it hit the hardest was Twilights friends, they had left Twilight in an awkward way and guilt took hold on there minds, Luna did have anger at how naive and small minded they were to do what they did but she knew Twilight would never blame them, they were her best friends, for many years they were together in fun times, tough times, sad times but throughout it all they always helped Twilight and she was sure after she had gotten back, if they had gotten back they would have realized what they did was wrong, and they did just that although now it was too late.

That's the thing about immortality though your life will go on, even when those you hold dear past it is a cruel and jealous existence that takes those you hold dear into blissful sleep that you will never be able to join, all she could do now was hope Twilight was sleeping peacefully without regrets.

In Luna's quarter, just before the sun, creating the Twilight

Luna sighed as she looked out from her balcony, Celestia would still do her job, the sun began to set under the horizon, It's time I guess, Luna decided when she got back that all her grandiose look of a Princess was not needed, her star mane, sliver regalia and her tone of voice were all but gone, stripped naked for all to see, Well lets get this done, Luna moved to the edge of her balcony as she watched the last rays of the sun disappear, then she shut her eyes and began pulling the moon and stars up to the point where she needed them to be, though she was having a little trouble with the stars, they were reluctant to come out tonight it seemed. "Please don't do this to me, I have had enough grief without you acting up," Like a chaild being told off by its mother the stars resisted for a second but then released their hold on there bed chambers, "Good"

The moon and trillions of stars adorned the nothingness that was the sky's blackness, "It reminds me of Twilight," A small tear dropped from the side of her face as she began to turn to lay down, thats when a twinkle in the side of her eye caught her attention, "w-whats that?" she stared at the star that seemed to be moving, I thought I just told you not to do that, she sighed but the star did not stop but kept moving fast, EXTREMELY FAST............... "OH BUCK!!" the star fell at hurtling speeds directly at Luna, she tumbled back in dust, blue flames and landed in the wall at the back of her room.

Her head ached, this hadn't happened in over a millennium, So embarrassing, Luna tried to get up but found something rather big and heavy kept her down, the dust and flames though themselves beginning to calm down blocked her view of said object, after the dust cleared and the fire went out she had to rub her eyes, and again................ and again, "Am I dreaming"

A familiar voice came from above her but sounded distinctively older and had an echo like numerous people were talking, "I'm afraid not Luna, Hi, I;m back," the Mare smiled down to Luna who just fainted from shock.

The Light in the darkness

Canterlot was busy, it always was but with the sudden loss of their Princess' Student, who was a big part of Equestria, already was lost to this plane due to unforeseen and unknown illness, Canterlot had calmed down while their Princess' grieved. That is until this happened, the sun was setting on the sky as Ponies everywhere were either packing up or setting up to their jobs, it was always magical to see the sun and moon move across the sky but tonight it looked more so, the moon had glided across the sky up to where it usually sits. The stars however had other plans, many stopped and saw how the stars were creeping over the horizon after a couple minute though they began their ascent following the moon, everypony sighed in relief that today was not the day an impending doom would happen.

That, however, did not last long, those who decided to watch the stars make their trip all the way saw something so odd, so out of place, it horrified them. Next thing they knew they are looking to the tower that held their night Princess, well now you could barely call it a tower, more of a smoldering big piece of blue flame that is breaking apart. Many ponies screamed, many rushed about for the new impending doom and then there was the Ponies who flocked to the gates of their Princess' palace.

Luna lay there in a daze, it was a wonderful dream but something is poking her back, I must have slept with the chocolates again, I am going to get addicted to chocolate just as my sister is to cake, It was one of the best dreams, somehow Twilight had come hurtling directly at her in a big blue ball of fire but she looked a lot more like an alicorn now, except she was made of the stars herself.

Luna got up from where she was half asleep, then she felt an itch in her nose, suddenly what was left of the roof was now also dust as the alicorn had sneezed hard enough to do so, she blinked and rubbed her eyes. The she turned around and saw a pony as large as herself and Celestia sat, waiting for her to wake, smiling that gleaming smile full of twinkling little pink and purple dots, suddenly her eyes went wide as she recalled what had happened, That wasn't a dream!!!, Luna couldn't move, couldn't look away and couldn't breathe, lucky for her alicorns didn't really need to breathe.

The Lavender star clad Pony moved closer to Luna and pecked her on the cheek, shaking her of her stupor, "Y-you dare touch me after nearly killing me, w-who are you," more than being angry and accusing the pony in front of her it was to check whether or not this mare, no this was no mere mare she was much more than that, she was made of the stellar that adorned the sky.

The stellar pony nodded to her, then she began to speak, her voice was calm and collected with the tone of a thousand lifetimes of knowledge, "It is we Luna, we hadst waited quite a long time to return to thee," this made Luna deadpan, right there and then she broke down trying to comprehend what had happened, though the mare just got close to her and hugged her.

"TIIIIIAAAAAA!!!!!" she boomed in the Traditional Canterlot voice, once again for good charm, no screw that, "SUUUUNNNNYYYYYBOOOOOTTTOOOOMMM!!! GET YOUR FLANK HERE NOW!!!" she screamed, it didn't bother the mare that dangled from her neck who was seeming to vibrate slightly with a hum much like a heart beat.

The tower was in pieces, literally on its last leg, this however blew the leg apart and melted it down, of course the one who did it teleported every sentient being apart from those at a certain point from the tower before doing so, "NO ONE CALLS ME THAT!!" no more tower, Luna and the mare sat in the now glass room a few flights down.

Luna blew the piece of baby blue mane out of her face, as she looked over to the mare and smiled, it was a perplexed smile, she was happy, confused, delusional, hungry and her personal favorite afraid, she was loving that she was afraid, that meant this was real but it meant that she didn't want to ever let this mare go ever again, she would never ever let, "Twilight," go again, Twilight looked up and smiled leaning further into the hug.

"Twilight? do not make folly of her name for what you just said Luna," a very angry Alicorn made her way through the steam coming off the newly made glass, "you are not just going to the moon! I will make you the new moon as I will reshape it to the size of you butto-" then she went silent as her eyes laid upon this... this, miracle, it was indeed Twilight Sparkle but she looked so... different, she was as tall as herself. Her body adorned stars, no it was made of stars, much like an Ursa Major was but she was pink and purple, she was back, the little filly who she had let down not once but twice was back, no more will she let them down, not Twilight nor Luna.

Celestia smashed into both mares with a smile as wide as Pinkie's and tears of the finest kind, her beloved student was back, her sister had no need to grieve any longer, all of the problems that seem to last over these last coupe months seem to wash away not that she was back and was... wait, what is she?, "Twilight," Celestia asked, making Twilight turn her head but not all the way, as if she was still finding her, "Twilight, where have you been?"

"Thine question is but a blip in the footnote of history, many a millennium has past and I would have no words for what I have seen, it didst take quite some time to get back to the present state and was't the one true hardest thing to retain most of my personality, though now I am sure itst will be but a boon for welcome home, we shall celebrate with cake, shall we not, I have not had this for so long it hadst been in my dreams for too long a time," Celestia throughout the whole entirety of Twilight’s little speech had her mouth opening and closing, as is Luna, she broke down.

The guards of the Castle

Current captain of Canterlot, ex right hoof of the last captain was now currently trying to calm an ever growing crowd, "Please, calm down, the Princess' are safe," he shouted to the crowd, then turning to another guard he whispered, "They aren't taking this well, its down to what happened to Princess Celestia when she lost Twilight I'm sure but we need to find out how to calm them down," he said.

"Everypony please remain calm, Princess Luna is an immortal, there is no wound that could be of any harm to her," One or two ponies had heard him but when the next sound boomed they all stopped dead quite.

One random mare near the front of the crown went, "sunnybottom?"

Next thing they know is an large Alicorn with flaming red hair had busted from her own balcony, teleported a rather large amount of ponies to the court yard a good distance away from where any loose rocks would fall and went on to demolish the last of the tower, the Alicorn who was residing in that tower had just fallen straight down and it looked like she had a new color scheme of Pink and purple in her mane.

Next came silence, no one would speak, then the guards moved out, they moved up through the castle to the nearest exit that could still be used, what they saw, no surprise had most of them dumbfounded too, there sat a pony shaped Ursa Minor in a pink and purple body rattling on about many assorted deserts, sweets and cakes without stopping for air, next to said Ursa sat the Princess' who at the moment seemed to have turned to stone, both with their mouths moving up and down mechanically.

Then said Ursa turned to the entering crowd and waved, "I met you great, great, great grandfather, Tinker, feel lucky you never got his teeth Mr. Cog"

"Do you know this mare Private?" Glint asked his guard who furiously shook his head.

"Oh and itst be the nicest of occasions to meet thee again sir Glint," Twilight said with a nod of her head.

Glint scrunched his nose, "How do you know my name, thing!" he glared at the stellar speckled mare.

"Thine eyes must be as blind as mine twas if you didst not recognize me," Twilight began to look over her body, "Oh, it seems I had forgotten this in my time trans-versing time," Twilight said as she began to glow, fur began to grow upon her legs as she concentrated, it crept up her legs, over the barrel and up to the head and tail making her hair grow again, although it retained most of the stars this time.

"T-twilight?"

"We once went by that title yes, that wouldst be be I," Twilight replied.

"But you.."

"Died, yes, but as my tutor had told me, the physical is but an illusion, it is what the mind retains as a view or a glimpse into what we want to see, now I wish to feat on the delicacies if you excuse me," Twilight began to walk through the guards as her body drifted around their armor, "now if I remember correctly it twould be this way," she said as she was moving away happily humming.

Glint shook himself from surprise and barked his orders, "Follow her, don't leave her side, make sure no one harms it, well at least try to," he then turned to the delirious Alicorns and moved to them, he went to Celestia and whispered in her ear, "I heard the chef personally made a nine hoof high cake with your name on it," her ear flicked slightly, now for the whammy, "it would be the best cake yet, but I lied, there is no cake," Special words to get the Sun Princess out of any stupor.

"You LIED!?! That was my cake," she said quickly bolting to the kitchen after Twilight, this pulled Luna to her senses.

Shooting right behind her sister, "Twilight!," she called as she ran.

In the kitchen

The chef was having a good day before his little visitor had came around, baking the Princess' cake's was one of his joys but when another unicorn as big as Celestia walked into the room asking in what seemed to be very old pony tone wanting cake then having big blobs as twinkling pink protrude from said mare what devoured all the cake in the room almost instantly made him scared so it was justifiable that he held her at knife point.

"I am afraid that thine utensil's do nothing for our pallet, we find that steel tasted bland," she moved through the knife as it passed through her neck, moving to the reserves of Princess Celestia.

Said Princess had followed a tad bit late, she saw her chef Creme' stood watching the open door of the reserve in Awe, something had kept his attention snapped thoroughly because he didn't even turn when she pushed past him, what she now saw she had realized what he was looking at.

Twilight was laid on her back sprawled out as she belched from eating all the food in the reserve, Celestia moved in now a little wary from her strange actions, "Twilight? Are you alright"

"Quite Tia, very much so," that sounded very familiar to Celestia so far but Twilight never called her Tia, "So hadst you gotton over sunneybottom? or are you still sore with what I came up with all those years ago?"

"Now I'm really confused"

"As am I sister," Luna said as she just heard what Twilight said.

Celestia walked forward, "Galactica? is that you?"

Twilight giggled, "Oh by kalgors beard I have not heard that name for two millenniums, you were cute foals"

Luna, even more confused, "but aren't you Twilight," she asked with worry that she mistook this mare for Twilight.

Twilight rolled over and sat up with anther belch, "Pardon our rudeness it has been a while and my constellations are rather rugged when it comes to cake, as for your question dear Lulu, yes I am and no I am not, confusing no?"

"Quite?" Luna said, "Care to explain?"

"All in due time, first I think we best qualm your nation of ponies, they are getting quite high rate," Twilight suggested.

The meaning of life and everything, book one ore rather life one

After calming down the nation, rather a daunting task when you have to explain that the reasoning would be told at another date later down the line but there were more matters to attend to such as her student becoming the one who raised her and then becoming, well they don't know yet but they are soon going to find out.

Twilight and her two Alicorns had sat in Celestia's room due to the latter in questions room now was sadly being cleaned up from the court yard, "My story will confuse you, you may have had large lives but on the whole of existence so far you have had very little, normal ponies much less and other worldly beast would vary, the thing I need you to understand is that we... I am Twilight Sparkle," The mares voice did resemble her students but it was distant and wise now, it will be very hard to accept what is going to be the future, "I myself am here to warn you of something that will happen in the not too far future, as for this body and Twilight Sparkle soon she will be the only inhabitant again but do not expect her to be coddled, she will still retain all the knowledge we have gathered"

Luna spoke up next, "So you're not using the royal we but the actual we?"

Twilight sighed, "Thus is the problem it is very confusing, here is the simple version, I have lived an uncountable amount of lives that repeat throughout many worlds that are the same equivalent of this one, they call this the parallel space, I have decided that this world is the best to retain all my knowledge for what has to come, before I get into that though let me explain these worlds," Twilight said.

Twilight looked upwards as if she could see the universe itself, "The first question that pops to mind when thine eyes came upon my being was it not what I was, it is as I look, I am as much the universe as the Universe is I, strange but true, on every Parallel world I am born from a tragedy that is about to happen to get the body ready for whatever it has to do, but doing so kills the body so we may communicate with each other but now there is no need for that ability sadly but that will change if we win"

She let the Alicorns process the simple information before she carried on, "As you know I could explain every last detail of how I move between worlds and what-not but the answer is really simple, I do not, when my counterpart is born onto a world they are sent to the start, The start literally, they watch the world being born and watch how the life around them evolves, they take notes of the minute details of all the subjects they see and when it comes time to guide the chosen few we raise the first to guide their kind into a new age where they can fight against the evil, that my sweet children was you two," Twilight gave a motherly smile, "Though I am afraid it was not Twilight who was conscious for the most part at that specific time, later when you were older she came into it and her feeling overrode most we have for you Luna," she said to Luna who blushed.

"Yes I was a mother to you both but that was as Galactica, when we noticed back in our worlds that this one is our best chance we grabbed our towels and came through to this world to join our newly born counterpart, and it is with great regret I say that our worlds are lost to the sands of time, our noticeable bodies on the other worlds are also gone also, Finally the threat we must warn you of, Twilight knows what it is but she cannot... No more like she will not tell you anything due to it being able to change history, even if she is the one to protect it," her demeanor became all the more serious as she spoke of the next part, "Due to the amount of time you have as I said, it is only a minute blip in existence, you will have a mere two years to ready Equestria for the coming tragedy, hopefully not all ponies will die in its wake,"

Celestia shook her head not believing what was being said, "You say you warn us to protect us of what is coming but then you say you hope not all ponies die from the evil's wake, that is to say we can't do anything?" Celestia asked.

With slight Trepidation Twilight nodded, "I am afraid so, in every universe the evil has eaten the constellation and planets that inhabit them, all sentient life from all planets in this universe will not last agains't this without our last line of defense, we are waging this very war on the multi-verse in the hand of Twilight Sparkle, she is a very talented mare, the most actually as of yet and ever will, she has a small chance of keeping you two alive to reverse the effect's in the other worlds and this one, as long as the evil cannot consume one universe in it entirety it breaks its laws and reverses its process, placing all Universe back with inhabitants all sentient and below will be returned, the evil I cannot tell you about though, this is something you two must find out when it comes as Twilight will not tell you and you must not pry this information away from her, we have seen this happen in other ways and it already ended with the death of those verse'”

Both Alicorns looked at each other, worry clear on their faces but eventually they nodded and agreed, this has to work and for it too work they will not disturb Twilight from her duty, Luna and Celestia moved forward as Celestia talked, "Mother, it was so good to hear you again, I would have never of guessed that you would have been Twilight, even now it seems very strange..."

"Yes Twilight is your mother, but not by blood and that was quite a while ago, Twilight loves you both dearly and in a weird way she thinks of you Celestia as her mother and you Luna as her lover, a strange family it is but a happy one nonetheless," Galactica walked forward for the last time in this world, her wary thoughts finally able to lay at rest, she placed a hoof on both Alicorns, both were smaller than her, at her motherly touch neither could hold their tears as they cried like foals saying goodbye to their mother, "I love you both very much, know that, Celestia, Luna, it is time I joined my brothers and sisters in the void, look after Twilight for us, she is very special to all of existence," they both nodded, once they did they heard their mothers last words, "Goodbye my daughters, I will see you again," When she did Twilight collapsed to the ground.

The fur dissipated and her constellation riddled body became a blotch on the floor, slowly it made a shape, a sleeping Twilight Sparkle, just a little smaller than Luna but the most noticeable thing was not her star shining hair, it was a pair of wings, wings that looked like windows to the universe, far off stars and planets drifted past upon her wings, the wing itself wasn't made of feathers but had more of a look that the changelings possessed, more insect like, still very beautiful. Both Alicorns stood in wonder as the smaller sleeping form of Twilight moved slightly as she breathed, Luna used her magic and moved her onto her back, Celestia followed her through to her chamber where all three curled up on Celestia's bed around Twilight.

Twilight mumbled slightly as her eyelids scrunched, then she got comfortable and warm and slept soundly, all three drifted off into the hold of sleep.

A certain Princess had just found out what had happened, its hard ruling two countries

In the candle light of the royal spare room a certain pink Alicorn toils the day away signing documents in the place of her aunt, her small pair of glass' began slipping off her nose as her head was slowly nodding from exhaustion, she had been supporting her auntie for a few weeks. Understandable when you had just lost the closest thing you had to a daughter, though she herself was in grief from the loss she could not detour from her her duties but for now she thought it best for rest for tonight, that was until she heard the explosion making her fall backwards off the chair she sat.

Cadence stared at the door leading into her room for a few seconds, noticing that the guards didn't come in meant something really bad had happened, I hope auntie Celestia and Luna are okay, Obviously they would be no matter what, so she began picking herself up from the floor. She brushed herself off and opened her door, nopony at all, they had probably ran to the explosion, even if this was worrying she did not show it on her face but she did in fact run as fast as she could outside to see what happened. When she got outside there was a few ponies here and there at the gate, apparently there was a crowd wanting to see what happened but one of the guards told her that her auntie had eased the situation and then asked why she couldn't have heard what Princess Luna had shouted.

Now with the knowledge that everypony was okay and what had happened on the outside it was time for answers, specifically answers for why now there is a large amount of materials and money are going to be needed to rebuild a tower but she was not angry, just frustrated.

She made her way up Celestia's spires, up the stair's all the way to the very top where the royal chambers were, then began her way to the room, three hoof left, two... one, then she craned the door open. Cadence collapsed to the floor, a disheveled mess, tears stormed out in brigades, snot burst open as she began to ball out into the night waking the three inhabitants of the room. Then she felt arms rap around her, lavender arms, those sweet sweet little arms of her dearest sister, and she lent into the embrace.

"Cadence, whats the matter, what happened to you? Has somepony hurt you?" Twilight asked pulling away from the hug, making Cadence cry even more when she saw Twilight's face.

Cadence mumbled words as Celestia and Luna walked up slowly to them, "I-I-Is it r-really you, T-twilig... but how can, whatever your back and I'm not letting you go," Cadence grabbed hold and held tight as she looked to her aunties who were smiling and nodding in confirmation that, yes this was the true Twilight sparkle.

"Wait, weren't we on Caesus Island a minute ago?" Twilight asked turning around but still not looking up, "What happened, last I remember was hugging you in our voids, Void?" she seemed to question herself, she had memories not what weren't her own, "What is... Princess I am in trouble, no we are in trouble, where is Galactica and Kalgor?" this made Cadence very edgy, Twilight wasn't making any sense to her but her Aunties looked calm and collected.

Celestia moved forward placing a hoof on Twilight's shoulder that seemed to sparkle purple dust on touch, "She has sadly left this world to join the others in the void"

"So that’s it... I'm the last star child," Twilight winced in pain, it wasn't physical but her form was sparking energy ripples from the sadness that her race was now near extinction, "Why? Why did you leave my side Galactica, Kalgor," Twilight whimpered, confusing Cadence even more..

Cadence stood up, "What is happening, I don't understand whats happening," Cadence asked, though all she got was a saddened smile from Luna and Celestia, finally Twilight got up and moved next to the balcony, everypony in the room watched her as she sat down and looked up, there it was again, it looked like she was seeing the universe again.

Twilight turned her head slightly and looked at Cadence with her two milky grey eyes, "I will tell you what happened to me soon Cadence, not now though I wish to sleep, I have started to look through the memories I have been given, I shall be back within two days," this confused everypony as Twilight stood up and turned to face the sky, at that instance she returned to her celestial form and dissipated to the winds drifting into the skies above.

"Care to explain why my little sister just dissolved in front of my eyes just as we got her back?" Cadence asked, both the other Alicorns sighed warily, Luna moved to the balcony and sat in wait as Celestia motioned Cadence to her table. Celestia over the next hour told her about Twilight, what had happened to her mind and body and who she was in relation to them both, "So Twilight is like my Grandma and my sister all wrapped in one?" Cadence was very confused.

"No, although she raised us she isn't related in blood As you I and Luna aren’t either but it is true that she first lived her life, died, re-birthed as her sentient Celestial life form and then came through history to raise us Alicorns, she is our mother but more than that, that was Galactica, this is Twilight, my beloved student and Luna's other half," Cadence looked shocked, not from the whole mother daughter situation but from Luna, she had an inclination a year ago about who she loved but that was way off, it was Twilight.

Then the three began their long wait for the prodigal daughter to return to her castle, technically this was her castle and she was queen, as Twilight was the one who started Canterlot and after so many years she left to let Luna and Celestia rule as one. That subject though would be sorted when Twilight came back though... Now it was time to wait and sort preparations for her arrival.

A few days later

Luna did not move from Celestia's balcony, the only movement she did in the past few days was use her magic to raise and lower the moon. Celestia had begun doing her paperwork again, as the days passed they sent invitations out to the many ponies who were related to Twilight, they needed to be here as she got back, it was drawing near the time, on the second day during the Twilight of the suns decent and the moons rise she would be back.

Many of the ponies arrived, Twilight's parents, her friends from Ponyville, Spike had come along but he did not look healthy it was really worrisome to Celestia but Fluttershy just shook her head at the ruler to stop her from interfering. Once everypony was here, they moved further into the castle, and into an open sky dome room where Celestia took the stand to explain why they were here. She explained what had happened nights before, many looked disgusted at what they thought was a cruel prank the Princess was doing, Even Pinkie Pie shouted out for her to stop sullying the image of her friend but Celestia took it all in and asked them to wait for sunset.

Although most were very hurt at the idea of the Princes' saying this they held onto the little hope they were right, then came sunset, the moon rose into the sky and at the very peak of its climb white light shone into the dome but there was no Twilight, minutes passed as Twilight's parents couldn't last any longer, Velvet began to cry losing hope. That's when a small speckle of pink floated past her eyes making her blink, all around the room, pink, purple and White swirled around in the dome before they flung together in a swirling motion next to the stand where Celestia was.

Now stood the star child, a mass of purple stars that swirled in the shape of a pony, it smiled at the ponies as it began to take form of its disguise, it grew its lovely lavender fur, streaked hair, muzzle and tail, and finally those beautiful milky eyes that seemed to see everything in front of them, "Hello everypony, It is so nice to see you again," Twilight said as calm as she could, eliciting whimpers from the crowd of ponies who followed her movements, she first bowed to Princess Celestia and then moved to where Luna was and hugged her, "I am back, I won't be going anywhere anymore," she released the hug and walked down to the starstruck ponies in front of the alter. She saw her parents faces, as they began to well up on tears, then they bolted forward grabbing her in a vise grip of love.

Once she broke the embrace she moved over to her friends, her movements were now very graceful and light, every one of her friends were crying but would not move, then she felt something touch her fur, Looking down she found two beautiful green eyes staring back at her, "Hello Spike, I think we need to feed you some more huh," she gently nudged his stomach, "You look a little thin," the dragon burst into tears and grabbed her leg as the rest of her friends rushed forward and also hugged their friend.

"We thought we lost ye' fer'ever darlin' we're so sorry for what we did," Applejack cried out between sniffles and snot that ran down her face.

Rarity did not care for all the grubby mess, in fact she did only one thing a one thing only, "Twilight, oh Twilight, don't ever go away like that again, we are sorry, please don't do that again to us, we will never leave you again"

Twilight enjoyed the embrace but then moved back slightly, "I am sorry girls but I still won't be coming back, I will have to find the true bearer to the Element of Magic, once I have we can be together again, I promise," the room went cold, confused faces everywhere, even Celestia was solid until the crack in her voice let out.

"What do you mean true bearer? you are the element of magic, we know that," Twilight just shook her head.

"You should know by now that what I am is not of this plane of existence but a medium, I could power the tiara because of my abilities but that does not mean I am the bearer, within these next two years, I will find and train them, then we will be ready, but first we must make the races of ponies whole again, I think we shall start with the Flutterpony race."

"Flutterpony?" Celestia said, "What?"

Daily Life

Blue light shimmered against the crystalline black wall, a low buzz in the distance. A queen sat looking through old tomes reminiscing of past times. Chrysalis since her attempted invasion had decided to lay low, now it was just her and the drones waiting until the date came.

She was set in the information center of her hive, an uncountable amount of books, scroll's and tomes were littered everywhere that could easily equal Canterlot library's very own set. It was a big collection but to the changelings only one tome within this room held any real worth. It was a tome that held a date, a place, and where the one who writ it would be. To them this one individual was their everything. The one who wrote the tome was none other than Chrysalis' own mother, Flutterheart. She had been taught how to lead her subjects all those millenia ago, now though they were a different species and she didn't know if her mother would accept that with open arms. She lay there and stared at the words on the book. She read the date once, twice, three times just to be sure, she knew it was correct though. She had read the same line again and again for around two weeks now.

It read that Chrysalis was to meet her in the Whitetail woods, east of Canterlot at sundown of the fourth month of this year, the first of that month, meaning, today. Chrysalis' face was contoured in worry over the thought that hours from now she would meet the originator again, the one who trained the Queens before her and the ones before them. Flutterheart wasn't just her mother but the goddess of the flutterponies, no, there were no more flutterponies only Changelings.

She sighed and got up, "This day is going to be annoying," A drone came up to her with a worried look, "Do not fret my child, we will see this day end soon. Hopefully the all-mother will let us live for our," She looked upon herself and winced, "Transgression's, even if they weren't ours to begin with," The drone nodded in a cheery mood.

Most drones didn't show much emotion, it was not their nature. Cold calculative beings were changelings. Though this one drone seemed to radiant happiness, "Would you like to join me on a stroll to Whitetail woods little one," She cooed to the drone who nodded and smiled a toothy grin, in turn Chrysalis smiled back, "Good. Follow me then.”

Canterlot Castle

"I cannot believe what Twilight is doing! How foolish can one be to go and face an army of thousands by oneself,"

Luna walked over to the sun goddess who just watched Twilight leave, "Have faith sister, she is no filly you and I know that now. Our rank of goddess' are no match for hers, she knows what she is doing," she said in a calm demeanor.

"But that does not mean I do not worry. We just got her back, you just got her back, aren't you worried she will be attacked," Celestia asked.

Luna had face-hoofed, "Tia, sometimes you aggravate me. You know her body is not physical, nothing could hurt or inflict pain against her, even less than what we can feel," Luna said with half closed eyes.

Celestia stared at her front hooves like she did when she was but a filly, "I know, I really do but there are things out there we don't know. Twilight knows and I know she trusts us but... but I feel there is something else she hides from us, its the way she left," Celestia said turning to Luna.

"What? The gotta go, nearly late for the time, you guys stay here I'll be right back just gotta pick up Chyssy? Which I am sure is Chrysalis. Don't worry, she knows what to do now. She has lived enough lives to know so anyway"

"I hope your right sister... Wait did you say pick up?"

"Oh, I did didn't I. Well, what do we do now?" Luna asked, though it was rhetorical and whimsical as she directed it at nopony at all.

In Whitetail woods

Chrysalis and the happy drone walked at a slow pace as more drones had begun a protective oval around their Queen, "Please will you not do this? No harm will come to me, it is stated clearly by the all-mother. Now stop making that awful racket up there," The drone in question was flying, buzzing his wings as hard as he could so that he could stay in the air, suddenly he dropped down looking slightly saddened but retained his composure, "Thank the all-mother that it is over. Ah were nearly here little one," She turned to the small drone. The drones eye's were bright and shone like a star, all her subjects had beautiful eyes but this ones were something quite spectacular.

Whitetail woods, quite an awe-spacious place. The air simmered with magic here, dragon magic to be in fact. Her mother had taught her when she was a filly flutterpony was the art of transformation, it was one of the most fun things to d., She would often try to turn her teal coat the shade purple so that she would look like her mother. Of course she knew even at that age that she was not her real mother, she was the one who came from above the clouds but that did not matter to the filly. It was very fun back then until Discord was born unto the land, mountains erupted, lakes turned to acid and the sky hailed fire inferno as it raised the ground they stood upon. Before this happened they were a prosperous country of fun and loving ponies that was helping neighboring countries develop to the stage they were at with all their technical wonders. Even the newly created Canterlot was a brilliant site to behold even if their rulers were quite naive and forthcoming about their needs.

Before all this started she had another name, one her subjects adored, one that made their hearts flutter, Chrystelle. She loved that name but it was now a dry husk that held her chest together a new casing had grown over it. Chrysalis, a name that stroke true fear into the hearts of her enemies and those that would hurt her subjects.

She watched as the moon begin to rise, This is it I guess, time to see if our god will accept us, then she felt the drone from earlier holding her shivering body. When did she begin to shiver she wondered. The drone was comforting her, the other drones though were looking at the little one with venom in their eyes.

"My Queen that is not one of the brood," One drone stepped forward hissing, "She smells different from us"

This made the Queen curious, no feelings of any darker emotions came from the small drone, she only felt the love from her like any other drone. She went to move the drone as another from the crowd shot forward, "Are you a spy?" as another agreed, "Yeah! A spy?"

The drone giggled, "Oh Chryssy, your brood has most definitely changed but I sense they love you dearly. Too bad that Discord has bottle-necked the hive, you can't cycle the love of your own people anymore can you," Chrysalis hadn't told anypony about that little nickname, only the one who gave it her knew.

She stared downward as the drones form shifted into one larger than hers, "M-mother?"

"Yes child, and the rest of you too. It is so good to see the hive mind flourishing even in these difficult times, I have something to tell you today, will you listen," she asked as she was suddenly hugged by all the Changelings, Chryssy included.

"Of course dear all-mother, we would do anything for you," Chrysalis replied.

Twilight swung her arms around the changelings embracing them, "Good my children, first would be this," Suddenly she burst into blue flames as she reverted back to being Twilight Sparkle.

This confused Chrysalis, "What does that mare have to do with anything, you just changed your looks again didn't you?"

"I am afraid not Chryssy, this is my true form. The last time I saw you in this form was before you were born, strange isn't it?"

Chrysalis looked dumbfounded, she was trying her best fish impression, wasn't the only one as a few changelings did the same. "But all-mother could never be, Eh?" said one of the drones.

Twilight leaned over to a changeling and whispered to him, "I think I broke her a little bit," And then retracted back to standing, "Chryssy, I know its hard to understand but, I lived as Twilight Sparkle before I ever came to love the Changelings as Flutterheart. I have had many personas and I assure you some were a lot more different but that does not mean I care any less for the hive. I love all of you dearly and I hope you don't forsake me for being Twilight Sparkle because of this"

Chrysalis looked down to Twilight, small droplets of tears threatened to fall, How could mother be Twilight? Well I'm sure mother would have stopped us from invading and capturing ponies but... but Twilight Sparkle of all ponies? Sure she is intelligent, beautiful, dutiful, a bearer of the elements, very adept in magic and could sense who I was immediately, something clicked on in Chrysalis' head, she did notice me right away and now she is able to transform. There is no doubt she is the all-mother but why her. "So then all-mother, would you tell us the reason we have to be here, is another Queen to be chosen to ascend the ranks?" Chrysalis said regaining her regal posture.

Twilight shook her head and looked around at all the changelings smiling, "I am afraid not my dear," Twilight looked back to Chrysalis, "I want you to move to Canterlot to help me"

"WHAT!?!" Chrysalis screamed.

Twilight simply nodded.

"Are you being serious all-mother? Those stuck up prissy Princess' are there, and we did kind of invade their country not too long ago, plus the blue one scares me" Chrysalis said looking at the floor.

"What was that last part?" Twilight asked with an eyebrow raised.

Chrysalis snorted in shock as her carapace went red slightly, "Nothing all-mother. Can I ask why we have to move from the mountain in the desert to Canterlot though?"

"You could, all I can say right now is, being there will help with the End," Twilight stated.

"The End? to what?"

"The world, everything we see, hehe, I mean you see will burn. The Princess' in the prissy castle, my friends, their country, your hive, everything. They will all burn unless everypony joins forces, meaning you and your sisters will have to get along," Twilight said smirking slightly.

I hate it when mother smirks, "Sisters? But all I had was Pupa and she ended up in Saddle Arabia," Chrysalis asked..

Twilight walked up to her, "It's funny, now that I think of it. I am not your mother but I still am, thus meaning we have quite a large family. You have today who you can see two sisters, one niece and nephew and a few royal relations, oh also you are actually classed as a Princess"

Chrysalis stomped her hoof, "Mom I have always been Queen!!" she huffed before her carapace went even more red, coughing slightly, "What do you mean I am actually just a Princess?"

"Well your sisters are, so how can you be the Queen, sure you are the eldest but that doesn't give you right of the throne, plus with us all being immortal you will have to rule as one," Twilight said.

"But who are these sisters of mine, really all mother I have no other siblings"

"You really don't catch on Chryssy. You really have to get some common sense this millennium. Your sisters are Celestia and Luna, Princess' of Equestria, so your title is of course Princess Chyristelle of Equestria," Twilight said proudly.

Chrysalis' face dropped as she started to pout, "As if they are my sisters, we have been at each others throats for near two millennium. Even if they are I can't see us getting along too well," Chrysalis said, turning to one of her changelings who was shivering slightly. "My changelings are becoming cold in this night air, we must return soon all-mother"

"Yes I understand, so lets go then"

"Where?" Chrysalis asked reluctantly.

"Home of course, back to the castle"

"You are kidding right? I mean yeah you drop the F bomb on us and you tell us that we are related to those Princess' but you instantly want us to go straight there to their castle?"

"Ours and yes I do," Twilight deadpanned. Chrysalis stared on until Twilight grabbed her hoof and spread stardust upon her changelings, "Lets go then," Twilight began to glow until it nearly looked like Chrysalis' carapace turned white and then they all flashed out of existence leaving star dust to drift slowly upwards.

Celestias room

Celestia was pacing back and forward as Luna watched on, "I don't believe Twilight," she huffed, slowly her old self was being dragged to the surface, "She would bring that... that monster here after what she did to us?"

"To you"

"Yes to me, to be so presumptuous that I would let her in this country so easily Twilight must be on a high," Celestia huffed again.

Luna shook her head and looked toward Celestia, "You are acting like you did as a filly Celestia, are you jealous that Twilight has gone to talk to the Changelings alone, not trusting you anymore with the finer details like she used too?"

Celestia whipped her head around at Luna, "NOO!" she said making Luna giggle slightly.

Luna moved forward watching Celestia turning pink from blushing, "She will be back soon. You heard what she said, she needed to bring the Changelings here to re-integrate them back into society. Before our ruling they were vast in numbers much like our ponies and thrived on other things from feelings, unless you were not listening to her when she said it," Celestia's eyes flicked from right to left quickly, Luna sighed, "What were you doing when she said that?"

Celestia shuffled her front hooves, "I couldn't help it, I am just so glad she is back, I just kinda lost track"

"A Princess losing track? What has Equestria come too when Sunnybutt loses track"

"OY!! Shut up Moonbutt!"

"SUNNYBUTT" Luna screamed getting closer to Celestia.

"MOONBUTT" Celestia did the same.

"SUNNYBUTT" Luna just in front of her sister said again.

"MOONBUTT" Locking horns.

"SUNNYBUTT" Luna began glaring.

"MOONBUTT" Celestia glared back until a spark of white light and several Changelings popped up in the room, at which they both began to blush, "Hello Twilight, how nice of you to drop in, we were... ere-"

"Talking," Luna said moving away from Celestia brushing herself off, "I am guessing everything went okay?"

Chrysalis snorted and pulled a hoof to her mouth whilst tilting her head back, "I'm so sorry for interrupting your little marriage spat, what happened di-"

CHYSTELLE! First impressions matter and you just kicked it out the window!" Twilight said as the changeling Queen slunk under the pressure of her gaze.

"Sorry mother"

Both Luna and Celestia did a full one eighty at that, both shouting, "MOTHER!?!" Celestia moved forward slightly, still keeping her distance though, "What? There's no way right?" she asked with a hopeful grin, only for it to turn into a frown.

"Yes, girls meet your big sister Chyristelle," Chryssy blushed as she looked down at her side, one hoof rubbing her other front leg, "Now be nice, first we will have some tea and then we will get down to business planning how to get what we need to get you back to your original state," Chrysalis' eyes bolted open as she looked over to Twilight.

Slowly stuttering, "W-we can b-be changed back?" she received a nod.

Celestia slumped down to her rump, "I still don't get it. Big sister?"

Twilight facehoofed as she walked over and looked up at the bewildered alicorn still stuck in her thought process, "You two are just as bad as each other with common sense. You aren't related by blood but I was the one who raised you both thus making you step sisters," Celestia began shaking her head.

"I won't be the little sister to this... this...-" She stopped as she looked at Twilight, she stared at her daring to start something to get told off for, "This is a little weird"

Chryssy walked forward until she was behind Twilight, "You're telling me, finding out the one who fell your kind is the one who created it was even weirder if you ask me. Though everything about you is already weird so-"

Twilight turned, "Chyristelle, what did I ask of you?"

Chryssy put her head down and sighed, "Fine but I still don't like this," She looked up and moved toward Celestia who she herself took a step back in caution, "I am sorry about earlier and the invasion and for all the other times I have annoyed you before hoof," Almost gagging because of having to apologies but getting a nuzzle from Twilight for doing it quelled her tumbling stomach although there is nothing to come out.

Luna stepped forward, "So we can go back to our prank war from a thousand years ago then? I assume you haven't forgotten about that Chryssy?"

Celestia whipped her head around at her little sister, "Excuse me, Luna what do you mean by this?"

Luna shuffled slightly, "Well when you started to ignore me I kinda started wandering around at night, then I found Chryssy one night and kinda got to being friends with her. Albeit being a weird relationship since half the time she kept asking me how to get into the castle easier to prank you"

"Wait you mean that was you all that time? I had the guards searching for who was doing that to my cake, dammit Luna!" Luna and Chryssy started laughing as Celestia's face turned red, "It's not funny! I had blue teeth for eight weeks and then after that was up you somehow made a rainbow spectrum out of my teeth," Luna's cackling grew louder as she fell to the floor holding her sides finally being caught for what they did those many years ago.

After a few minutes their laughter died down as Luna began to get up, a hoof wiping away a tear, "I am sorry sister but it was so funny, you would not talk to anyone but me for a while and that brought me joy so I will not apologize"

While they chatted Twilight had moved to sit down, somehow making one of the maids at the side snap from her frightened state of there being changelings and even more surprising being able to go and come back with a tea set, "Old memories are wonderful but they are old, we must look to the future," all others in the room turned their heads to look at Twilight who had seated on a red cushion, some changelings sat near her, she looked... regal as she sat there, "Now have a seat as we have many thing to discuss before we make preparations for our trip north"

"Trip?" Celestia asked before sitting down, suddenly a poof at the other end of the room sounded as her moving mane turned into a sickly green, "DISCORD!!"

When Celestia turned around she was met with nothing, turning back she saw Discord behind Twilight shaking in fake freight, "Please stop her Twilight, she will turn me to stone again"

"Right on time as always Quint, I expect you will change her back before I have to repress your magic?" Discord shot up and snapped his fingers before taking a seat rather fast, "Thank you Quint," Celestia turned checking her mane for anything wrong, thankfully it was back to flowing in the cosmic winds as the colors was hers again.

Discord put on a toothy grin, "Wow, four of the gods out of seven, all we needs is the glittery ones and then ones who love clams. I am sure you have already had the boring talk about them right? No? and I am guessing this is about Kha'rune?"

"No... Yes... and yes, we need to have the amulet back with their essence," Twilight asked.

Discord huffed slightly, "You know, talking about all this is confusing the reader, I am sure it is," he said as he looked to his left, everypony followed his gaze as they stared for a second, "To clarify," he started to explain to the rest of the table, "The amulet is not in my possession as I do not rule over Kha'rune. He has become independent and near as powerful as a god, so I am sorry but I am not helping on this one Twilight. The windigos were one thing because they annoyed me but with this you are on your own Queeny"

Twilight sighed, "Fine but we still need the activation key to the rune, that is the least you can do or I will turn you into a fish and watch you swim away down stream," Discord seemed to ponder the thought before raising her arm.

"If I do this, you owe me Twilight, agreed?" with a nod her grinned, Snap, "One key to Middle Earth!"

"Wrong universe Discord"

"Live a little"

"I would but we might get sued," Twilight said as she grasped the stone structure in front of her.

Discord pondered a thought, "You know you could have just stopped me from ever changing them"

"But that would alter history. I will not mess with the fabric of time, I am just a sentient lifeforms that will watch over this verse if you don't remember"

"You say that but when you had a temper tantrum years ago because I annoyed you, you turned the mountains into lakes of molten lava," every pony in the room turned to Twilight.

Celestia looked over and looked mostly like a lost puppy, "So why is Discord here? I am very confused, from what it sounds like-"

"We did," Discord said.

Celestia went wide eyes, "You didn't, Twilight how could you?"

Twilight shrugged her shoulders, "He was different back then, more rugged and manly but now I have Luna who already knows this. I wasn't keeping it a secret it just never popped up in conversation"

Looking around the table there was one changeling Ex-queen now turned princess blushing, one night princess blushing whilst staring at Twilight lovingly, one sun princess looking much like a fish out of water, the one who brought chaos where ever he was taking pictures of said Princess of the sun. "So with that, lets get to planning" Twilight said.

The tea session had ups and downs as some of its members were arguing. It didn't help that three of the tables occupants were pretty much at each others throats for one reason or the other but when Twilight told them off they stopped. It surprised many of the guards and maids to see this happen, their Princess' conversing with the embodiment of chaos and a changeling Queen and the fact that a normal unicorn could make them bow when she glared at them all. Some giggled at the reactions of Celestia and Chrysalis when it came to talk about where the changelings would live.

It wasn't long before they decided that at the base of the mountain had a wide area to grasslands and wide open lakes, beautiful scenery and such is where they would move to. After all that they finally discussed Kha'rune, a mythical creature created by Discord to keep the essence of the changelings in an amulet hidden, it was up north near the crystal kingdom hidden behind the forgotten mountains. Twilight explained how the north use to look like a warm utopia before Discord did that. He created many different creatures but Kha'rune was the most troublesome.

Much like a dragon but made from aspects of the planet, a false created soul and a temper, it would be dangerous. After that day they spent the next week planning as to what they would do. The changelings slowly moved their colony a few hundred at a time, Discord disappeared. Chyristelle hated the regalia but was forced to wear it by Celestia, both were still at each others throats but Luna qualm them most of the time. Getting ready for the trip they sent a letter to Cadence and Shining and began selecting who to go. Some of Chyristelle's avaunt guard were going, Celestia's and Luna's personal guards could be coming and only Luna and Chyristelle would be joining Twilight to north leaving Celestia to look after the royal duties of the kingdom. Celestia wanted to go but eventually gave in after a while. She had been regressing much to her needy attitude when she was younger and Twilight thought it was adorable.

They began their trip north, it took five days to arrive at the Crystal Empire. They were greeted by Shining, who only scowled when he saw Chrysalis, Chyristelle was indifferent to it as she ignored his stares. After a day in preparation for traveling to the forgotten mountains and the fact that it was weird of Cadence to slowly warm up to Chyristelle throughout the day, they set off again but with Shining and a few of his guards toward the huge pillars of black rocks that towered above the clouds.

Shining trudged through the snow in his gear. Many of his guards struggling to keep up, he looked up at the mountains in front of him, "Twiliy, you say that the creature is behind the mountains but there is no way to climb that"

"Were not going to climb it, were going to pass through it. There is a rune that activate a tunnel leading beneath the mountain" She said as she walked, Shining looked over and became slightly confused, Twilight was walking on the snow but wasn't sinking in or making a hoof print.

"Erm Twily, why are..." he pointed at her hooves, which she followed and noticed what he was on about.

Twilight looked back up, "Its just something I picked up over the years. I can make a print if I wish to but I find it easier to stay in my weightless state"

"Oh, okay," Still slightly confused but accepting it as a Twilight thing he carried on walking, they were nearly at the wall. The black of the mountain was covered in what must have been a few meters thick of clear ice, thick enough to actually challenge somepony's magic at getting through it.

Twilight walked up to the ice and placed a hoof on its surface, she began to phase through the solid ice and wander toward the mountain. Chyristelle looked over to Luna, "If she can do that, why do we need the rune for the mountain? She could easily just walk through the whole thing," She said as Twilight came back out.

"The reason why Chyristelle is that the ice still was clear enough to see in front of myself, I might be able to move through objects but that doesn't mean I can see through a solid does it?" Chyristelle just shrugged.

Shining moved forward and tapped the ice with his metal clad hoof, "How are we going to find the rune then? It'll take years if we have to search it by eyes," he turned and looked at the group who had come to similar conclusions as Twilight pulled the key into existence.

"This is how we will find the opening," She stated as the keys almost obsidian rock shifted making light emanate through it, the key levitated as a blue orb surrounded it and began to moved slowly towards the mountain, "I am afraid the whole mountain is the rune, anywhere the key touches will become the tunnel. Now shall we go about catching us a molten breathing creature in the depths of this volcano?"

The group retracted slowly, Shining gulped and looked at her, "Volcano? Twily, this is an ice mountain there can't be lava in ther-" his voice caught in his throat as the mountain began to shake on contact with the key, melting a hole in the ice where the key had pushed through. The ice on the wall began to steam as the black rocks slowly turned orange and red in different blotches. Suddenly some of the ice began collapsing away from the wall as Twilight put up a barrier to protect them, Shining joined her for extra help even if she didn't need it. Massive slates of ice collided with the ground with enough force that craters began forming, after they fell the group noticed orange and red blobs falling from above before some of the mountain cracked open for lava to rush out.

The lava slammed into the ice which in turn became steam almost instantaneously upon contact. The lava pooled around there barrier and down into the craters. Shadows ran up the mountain as the leaking heat slowed to a dribble, finally in front of the group they saw a passage way into the mountain large enough to fit them in. Twilight withdrew the shield as no more lava surrounded them that was a threat. When she did they were blasted with heat, nothing that could kill them but it was very hot. "Are you ponies ready? This is where the hard part begins, time to speak with Kha'rune," Twilight turned and began walking into the gap in the mountain.

The rest gulped, even the immortals knew something was going to happen inside this cage that held a monstrosity that the world hadn't met yet. Looking around the group they nodded to each other and began to follow Twilight into the opening. After they went in lava flowed over the gap and cooled covering the hole from being seen. The road to Kha'rune begins.

From the pits of darkness a new light is born.

Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you.

Have you ever looked into darkness and thought something looked back, that feeling of sudden coldness you get when you see it, the area you are in is the blackest of night but it still lingers on the edge of your vision. The feeling of something moving in the background, something unexplained but it is there peering into your very existence, waiting for you to come into its grasp.

Many of the group was used to darkness, many could usually see within the darkness, this though was different, when the tunnel opening closed true darkness surrounded them. They could not see anything inside this cavern, not until Twilight create an orb of light, at this most gasped while looking at the walls. The rocks on the walls shifted and moved around them, looking around they found a meter difference in ever direction but one, leading away from the opening that was there with a slight incline upwards.

Many of the guards, even the most brave shook at being enclosed in this moving rock, they were at its mercy. Shining took point and moved forward cautiously at the path the walls created for them to move down, as he did the further end of the path extended as he drew closer, he stopped and looked back at the rest, "Seems we have to go up," Twilight nodded and passed him as the rest followed.

After walking for around forty minutes the air was becoming thinner, the guards even with their athletic bodies became quickened for breathe, even Shining was having difficulty. The three immortals noticed this since their bodies didn't have so little resistance to this little amount of oxygen, Twilight stopped and turned on Shining, "We will have to part here, I thought this might happen, with the altitude and amount of heat this place is radiating the oxygen is thinned. Wait here for us, keep a barrier held and I will place a barrier myself"

"Twily, we can carry on, we aren't weak"

"I am not saying you are but I am afraid any further and we run risk of guards dying from just moving to the top of the mountain, look at your guards shining, they can't keep going like this," Shining looked aback and saw many of his guards stood at attention but panting heavily, some looked about ready to collapse.

Shining sighed and looked back, "What about these walls, won't they close on us?"

Twilight levitated the key back to Shining, "This will stop the walls from closing, I will force our way through the rock, now stay here and regulate breathing. Make sure to be careful with your water amounts, open a bottle and most liquid evaporates fast here," Twilight said, Shining nodded as all four sets of guards dropped, Christelles guards were going to retaliate but she stopped them from their pleases to come along. "We will be back soon, don't fall unconscious no matter what, the key will only stay active if you empower it with magic. It doesn't take much magic but if you all lose consciousness the walls will collapse on you, we will be back soon BBBFF, hold tight," with a nod Twilight turned.

"Are you sure we can do this?" Luna asked, slightly worried about just barging through the rocks.

Twilight moved forward and lit her horn, the rocks only moved forward to a certain point away from the key, when it stopped she began channeling magic onto the rock, "We can but this will be a longer journey up because of it, brute force was never something I liked but I shall do it when needed," Twilight finished as the rocks snapped off and began sizzling before they moved out of the way.

Christelle looked back and sent her guards a reassuring thought over the hive mind to quell their worries for her, <It is fine my children, we shall be back soon>

Twilight looked back and smiled, <She will be fine, I will let nothing happen to her>

<you can still use the hive mind then All mother?> Christelle asked rhetorically but got answered with a confusing answer.

Twilight looked forward, <yes and soon all others shall be able to as well>

Christelle accidentally let her words loose, "Others?" this caught Luna's attention as the wall behind them closed back up.

Luna raised her brow, "what do you mean others?" She asked in confusion.

Christelle blushed slightly at her word slip, "Nothing, just a thought I had with my hivemind, just a question one of my brood had," She laughed awkwardly but Luna took it with suspicion deciding to ignore it for now. After that point the three walked in silence, Luna and Christelle were behind Twilight as closely as possible as they had to run through the rock as it close really fast around them. It took nearly another hour before they were near the surface of the mountain crust, the rocks became harder and more hot.

Nearly there they felt that the oxygen was so little no living thing should really be able to live there, luckily being immortals breathing was more for appearances than a real need, finally they broke to the surface. As they cumbered out of the hole they peered out over the vast amounts of lava, a small rope bridge that somehow was there and should have been burning lead over to an opening that looked closely to a dragons head, the wind on the mountain was freezing. As the wind blew across the surface of the lava it momentarily became solid rock before liquefying again, the sky was pitch black and had numerous thunder clouds, it was beautiful but horrifying at the same time.

Twilight moved forward and took a careful step on the wood, "Its seems safe, even if it breaks we can fly across," She said looking back to the other two.

They fell in line behind Twilight as they started across the bridge, Christelle looked over the edge of the bridge at the lava, something seemed to move, "All Mother, it looks like we are not alone on this mountain and I don't think that is Kha'rune," the bridge began shaking as some wooden slats fell and sizzled to nothing in the lava below, "Definitely not alone!" she said taking wing to the air, luckily enough the heat rising was enough to stay afloat with relative ease, when she got airborne she noticed the lava below swirl until something leap out onto the other end of the bridge.

Twilight and Luna immediately took to the air, Luna flapped her wings as Twilights back grew cosmic wings, the creature snarled as more came from the other side. The bridge dropped into the lava as the beast walked forward to the end of the rope, its view never leaving its flying prey, it leaped into the air only to be swatted away in a magical green hue.

"YOU WILL NOT TOUCH THE ALL MOTHER YOU MUTT!!" Christelle screamed, the other creature began barking in a gurgling noise, soon to join their member in trying to eat the newly appeared prey, "Brainless fiends, lay to rest back from where you came," Christelle shouted once more as both hers and Luna's magic crushed the creatures back into the pool of lava.

Luna huffed at the gurgling lava, "You aren't ever going to touch Twilight with your filthy claw thingies"

Twilight floated over, "Claw thingies? Really?" Luna blushed whilst Christelle giggled slightly, below them the eyes of the lava dogs peered up and watched them as they moved to the opening of the cave, not trying to eat something so powerful again, "Well lets go find Kha'rune, hopefully there won't be anymore set back," the three entered the mouth of the cave, it was a drop straight down. They all released their efforts on staying afloat and plummeted down the hole, crystals and diamonds riddled the walls of the hole that Rarity would die to get, Slowly the dot of orange came closer into sight as they were flung into what seemed another dimension.

When they came out of the hole there was still a drop that seemed as large as the mountain was outside until they hit the ground, of course instead of falling any more they flew forward, Twilight lit her horn and scanned for magic, when she found her target she changed course as the other two followed, "This way, it won't take long to get to him," She said as they dodged the large stalactites that dangled from the ceiling. It was strange, even in this cave there was clouds and lightning, due to the lava it was very hot and the walls steamed.

Beneath them they saw the lava jumping from where it lay as small explosions happened, finally coming close to their destination a wide plane of earth had solidified around a huge crystal that lay in the middle of lava, Twilight stopped and flew down landing, "We are here, that crystal holds Kha'rune," She stated.

Luna moved next to Twilight and looked out over the edge of the plane they stood upon, "How do we wake him, first off how did he trap himself in that crystal?"

Twilight looked to the ground and shifted some of the ash, looking around at their surrounding to see if there was anything distinct, she finally found what she wanted, "As to how he got there, he made a bed out of the crystals and entrapped himself to slumber, as to how we are going to talk follow me," they moved over to one of the towering rocks that towered over the crystal. "Use you magic to push the rock over, it will crack the crystal," She said lighting her horn.

Christelle jumped in front of her, "All mother don't you think waking one up as such would bring wrath back down upon us?"

"Do not worry, it won't hurt him and I am sure I can quell his anger once he is awake, now push with all your strength, that crystal is very strong, all we need to do is make it shake so he wakes," Twilight said as they all lit their magic, a swirl of purple, green and blue swirled forward and made impact on the rock, slowly it began to crumble and tip. It was like slow motion, the rock as big as manehattan's tallest building, maybe taller colliding with the crystal caused a booming echo throughout the cave as the stalactites came loose and fell from the ceiling of the cave. Rock after rock collided with the crystal before it glowed red and began to crack itself, flames escaped the cracks as an arm smashed through the crystal and smashed more away with a swing, once its head was out it screamed, "KRUTE VAAS KORGAAG KHAZAT!" An archaic tongue even both Luna and Christelle did not know.

Twilight stepped forward as it finally stepped out and moved forward, It was huge, "Karine, tiiu vruck chaa'"

"VRUCK CHAA', GECK! VAN TUU GECK, SNERIL!!" HE BELOWED.

Next surprised both Luna and Christelle as Twilight started to grow, quickly becoming as large as the creature, her wings splitting into six, "vruck chaa', how very-" still talking in the archaic language, "rude of you, that is not a word you say to anypony"

"What do you want creator of worlds? If you are here to slay me I will fight for my life!" he said as balls of molten lava sludge in his hands, "what is it you seek from me?"

Twilight slowly sat down as both Luna and Christelle flew up to her head hovering at either side, "something you hold, I need it back, my child needs it. In turn I will grant you your freedom from this place albeit in another form"

"And what makes you think I will comply creator?" he asked as lava dripped from his mouth.

Luna turned to the huge pitch black eyes of Twilight wondering what they were saying, Christelle somehow was nodding along to what they were saying.

Christelle had asked her mother if she could listen using the hivemind, doing this translated the language, <I have to agree all mother, what makes you so sure that this creature would comply?>

Twilight moved her hoof us as it dissipated into stars and constellations that floated over to the creature, Kha'rune did not move but kept an eye on what was happening, "I have seen it in many universes, you are known as a terrible beast who would slay all that approached but never really did any, you are kind hearten and I know that. You have protected a races essence for nearly three thousand years when you could have easily destroyed the ceiling and be done with it, still you stayed, that is how I know you will co-operate," Twilight said, Kha'rune shifted and moved to sit where he was.

The rocks crumbled under his weight, "even if I am of kind nature, I was born from chaos, my flesh kills animals, my looks horrify the sentient life forms of the world. My creator was evil and made me for the purpose of mischief, how can you rub all these sins from my very soul, if I truly have a soul?"

"Everything born unto the world, even beings created by Quint have a soul, the soul is the conscious a being has. You thought of how to protect the world from you and trapped yourself withing crystal, even now your heat is rising from being in the air, soon it will start to boil the atmosphere. This shows you have a soul, you are a lost child who needs a helping hoof in his first steps in the world, let me show you what you truly are as you shed your bonds of this place." Twilight calmly spoke, her body's cosmic lights twinkling ever so slightly as she spoke, waterfalls of her mane beginning to drift in cosmic winds. "Let me free you of your shackles, the amulet holds your true form, it stops you from being what you are"

Kha'rune contemplated the idea looking around at the other ponies in the room, "Are these your children creator? they are quite small, which one is the changeling, I have not seen one of the new life forms yet. Why do they not burn in my presence?"

Twilight giggled, though it sounded very loud to all instead, "the few in this room are immortal and therefore can stand much more than the normal sentient beings you have seen, as for who is my changeling daughter," Twilight turned and looked at Christelle, who was still listening through their link, "This is Christelle, Discord used his magic to steal the essence of changelings two Queens before her, that is why I must correct this imbalance in the worlds populace back to as it were"

"Discord never told me what the amulet was but he told me that when I give it up I will inevitably die, if this holds true how would you save me? I am afraid I will have to decline the offer creator, I am scared, all I know is this cave that holds me in its embrace"

Kha'rune began to get up and move away as he felt a tug upon his arm, the stars were holding him in place, "What is this creator, first you mean no harm and ask, now you wish to take it by force?"

"No, I merely wish to show you what will happen if we don't get that amulet," She moved forward as the stars that held her horn together glowed bright as it touched his head, images flew threw his imagination as he saw the mass of darkness around Equestrias skies, "That will come if we do not correct what will happen today, I will recreate you into another body, one that does not kill without reason to," Kha'rune became dizzy as he moved back, as he shook his head lava flew to the ground with a big splash.

Kha'rune got his thoughts back together as guilt came over his conscious mind, "So you plan to make me see, without this amulet that is our future, no war, no continents that can resist the darkness, just death and destruction. That is preposterous, how can you be so sure that doing this will save this planet? you showed me the end of some of the other worlds, mere seconds passed as all that was left was the cosmic dust of its aftermath, what point is there when all there is, is darkness?"

"Hope... hope is the one thing that holds a country and nation together, hope is the one thing that everypony can hold dear when all seems lost. Hope is all we have Kha'rune, do you not wish to have hope for the future, a future where you stand by me in the face of true darkness. I can give you solace in coming times, if just one world survives the darkness will lose hold in the multiverse and retreat back to its own universe, I know this well"

"How, how would you know, how can you tell me these things with confidence?"

"Because I am that darkness," Christelle and Kha'rune looked shocked, well as shocked as a huge piece of moving lava could be, "all will be explained in full when we go back to where you belong, will you accept my help?"

Luna was very confused now as she saw both of them look so shocked, she knew Christelle knew the language now but what troubled her most was the faces of terror they held whilst looking at Twilight, "Twilight, w-what are you saying?" Twilight looked to her side at the confused alicorn, a small trickle of her manes stars accumulated as a small Twilight came into existence and moved to Luna placing her horn on hers, "WHAT? but you can't be!"

"It is true, one of my many personas from another verse was one of many of the first to realize we each in turn existed but when most found it exhilarating to know the knowledge from other universes some became scared, a few were angry that some had better lives and one of us was the worst. We were all scared of her, she dominated her planet making its inhabitants bow under her power, finally realizing that there were other universes to concur she became thirsty for power. Using her abilities she tore through the fabric of space time and entered one of our sister verse's area, that is when she started her path of destruction, she became a moving black hole that swallowed galaxies and held their inhabitants captive under her rule. It has been nearly 674,447,290 years since she started to inhabit other worlds, time was a thing of the past as we were one with all time, I can still converse with myself from before this talk but I cannot manipulate it. Thus with that she has had to spent more time transverse through the pockets and wormholes to get to other verse's making her the longest living entity of my being. If we stop it from killing one world it would in theory break the laws of the multiverse reversing all current and past alterations to the universes. Its confusing but basically we were made to watch a universe, not mess with its fabric, somehow she could do just that but when we stop her it will all unwind back on her," Twilight said.

Kha'rune looked down at the ground, milling through his thoughts, "how much of a chance will this work if we can gather all the necessary components to winning her?"

Twilight shook her head, "do not ask that, I will not delve any deeper into changing fate as I have telling you what comes, the chances are something you need not know," Twilight moved closer to Kha'rune as both Luna and Christelle kept in line with her, "So what will you do, wait for the land and lives to be torn asunder or be reborn and help us, the choice is yours as I cannot force you to do anything, I am but a spectator in this worlds affairs," She said in a more saddened tone.

Kha'rune immediately responded without any hesitation, "I will help!" his confidence and true nature shone through, he cared for all living things, one thing no one can change is how you view life. "I will help, how can we attain this amulet, Discord never told me where it was"

Twilight nodded, "Kha'rune, if you ae truly ready you must open your heart to me, accept me fully, don't be afraid. Any resistance will stop the amulet from appearing, once we have it I will recreate your body and place your soul in there, do you trust me?" once again without hesitation he nodded.

"You are the creator, I shall trust in our god, I shall trust you," Kha'rune closed his eyes as he felt an embrace surround him, massive arms held him. As he was told he did not resist, leaning into the embrace as it pierced his rocky flesh, he opened his eyes as it got to the center of his being.

The orange glow his body turned bright blue as his heat rose, his bodies rocky formation liquefied, slowly the embrace took him into a slumber.

The mind of one so frail.

A small filly played in the garden, a mare walked over and held her in a loving grasp as a stallion walked up behind them but the stallion had a mask on, a crying mask.

Kha'rune watched the scene unfold, the group of ponies played all day in front of their stone house, the beautiful little filly was so full on energy, the mare sat lovingly near the stallion as their filly chased the butterflies.

As he watched he noticed a purple mare walk next to him out of the darkness, "Do you know where you are?"

"I am in my dreams, this dream has been my worst, it has happened a few times and every time I am confused as to why it hurts so much. Its not this part that hurts though, this makes me happy, its what happens next," Twilight nodded as they turned back to the family, they were laughing and playing, the father of the filly lifter her up in magic as she giggled, the high pitched giggle that would send shivers down your spine in happiness.

Soon that happiness though turned to dread as the sky turned black with clouds, orange illuminated the back of their house, the three ponies heard their neighbors screams and ran to see what was happening, when they rounded the house they saw it. The black clouds rose from the mountain as the red liquid traveled its sides, house after house became engulfed in flames as the inhabitants screamed to be released from their pain. The stallion covered the fillies face and tried to stop her from hearing the screams.

The two knew they could not outrun the liquid fast enough, it has happened before as the tormentor had rained fire on many small towns and villages, now it was their turn. The mare held her filly tight as the stallion covered them from sight of their oncoming death. The fillies eyes were staring into her fathers, her last words made both Kha'rune and Twilight weep, "Daddy, are we going to die?" Tears running down her cheeks, her father swallowed and nodded as he kissed his fillies head under her horn one last time before being embraced by the quilt of red.

It was not the end, not for the stallion, A demon traveled the surface of hardened rock. Reveling in his destruction of more innocence, he moved over to one particular spot and pulled out a shiny green amulet that shined, black smoke came from his hand as he snapped his claws. The smoke pierced the rock and dragged something up, something that should have died, half a stallion. The stallion had been brought back to life by the demon to do his bidding, his skin melted and most of his muscles gone but the crying mask still held. The demon brought a claw down gripping the stallions skull and lifting him, "Thou shalt be the darkness, I have many plans for thoust to partake-" that was the end as it went black, Kha'runes face leaking lava as he cried silently.

"Why are we here creator? What is this dream that haunts me so?" He asked looking up to see Twilight just before her embrace.

"It is to remember who you were, now we must go further," Twilight said as a new image started.

The scenery was of a huge grass land with farmers and other ponies doing their daily duties to their small village. Many looked to be happy even when doing this strenuous work. These ponies though held no such things as wings or horns, they were earth ponies. The group carried on as normal before a milk curdling scream emanated from a mare in the field, the field was for rice so it held water, slowly the water turned misty as she ran to get away from the field. A few others screamed after her and ran for the bank of the dirt, upon arrival looking at their hooves they saw scarred skin with no fur as their hooves had melted slightly. The water had turned acidic, on the horizon they finally spotted what was the cause, a massive titan made of lava walked across the planes of their fields coming closer.

It may not have been the giants intent to hurt anything but the village inhabitants screamed and ran as it drew closer, houses set alight with fire as he came closer, tears of lava fell onto the fields. Kha'rune watched on in horror as he saw his past self mindlessly walk through a living creature habitat, even hurting them.

"It was never your fault, it was Discord, you must learn to forgive your sins to release the amulet, now for the last memory," She said as the scene changed yet again.

This time they came across a battle field, thousands of unicorns and pegasus joined with earth ponies held him back at the edge of their city, he didn't even really want to come near but they rose against him, finally the unicorns channeled magic creating a barrier of black rocks that rose around the titan, the walls closing upon him and trapping him. without being able to do anything he let his will go and became entrapped. Thousands of years passed like this as the mountain formed, the sides becoming ice and the top unknown to any other becoming lava from his heat, he had shrank down quite a lot as he made a home in his cave finally entrapping himself in crystal to stop the heat spreading further. Over the next few thousand years pony kind forgot his existence as an empire flourished in the cold northern temperatures, that was until discord also made it disappear along with its own set of problems.

"This is where I sealed myself, I could not bare to keep searching for help, I entrapped myself to keep others from being hurt," He said as his voice quivered.

Twilight took a step forward and lifted his head, unknown to him becoming more equin, "this is the last of the memories, you must release yourself from the cage you created, free your heart from burden. Do this and I promise all will be in clarity when you awake once more," She said embracing the creature, he fully leaned into the comfort as his chest glowed, "you have finally opened up fully, once I take the amulet it will leave you with a sense of need, after we retrieve it I will help you"

The cave shakes in the wake of its masters epiphany!

Twilight placed her hoof on the creatures chest as the green amulet was released, Kha'rune slowly began to drop but was caught in her magical grasp, attaining her item she set her horn alight and placed the item in a pocket of space, now turning to the creature who was slowly fading she lit her horn once more as the room lit up in a bright light.

Purple lights danced around Kha'runes body as he became the light itself, the form shifted and twisted as it became smaller, all the way until it was as small as a colt, when the light dissipated it left a small winged, horned colt with a black coat and red mane. Twilight shrunk back down as Luna and Christelle flew down with wonder upon their features as to what the small black dot was, when they got close they gasped in confusion.

Twilight strode over and gripped the colt in magic, levitating him to between her wings, the six wings becoming very small themselves before joining back together. The colt stirred and opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the beautiful smile of lavender as it moved to nuzzle him, "Hello Basalt, welcome back to equine, how do you feel," Twilight said in plain Equestrian, surprising both the two other immortals with this.

"Surprisingly good, though I feel rather small, wait.... this language?" Basalt said in a more high pitched voice.

Twilight giggled slightly before putting a hoof over her muzzle to cover her laughter, "Is Equestrian my dear child, Discord had implanted Archaic language in place of your Equestrian," she said lowering her hoof back down, "I will explain more but for now I suggest we get moving, the magic in this place is dissipating and the cave will soon begin to collapse," Twilight said as a few streams of lava began to pour down from the ceiling of the cave.

The floor began to break apart and stalactites plummeted to the ground, the towering pillars of stone and solidified magma began collapsing, shifting the ground in the wake of destruction. The group quickly took the the air and made way to the exit they had came through, dodging the falling liquid and the projectiles of rocks, dust so thick they could only see a few feet ahead. Reaching the opening was easy but getting out would be more so, the hole in the roof was now home to growing crystal shards that would all of a sudden sprout from their perch they were held. They began the climb, getting higher and higher, dodging the jagged serrated crystals by a hairs width. They were nearly out until Luna caught her side on a crystal, letting a yelp of pain out, Twilight turned and caught her in magic.

Christelle slowed down as she came next to Twilight, Twilight turned to her, "Take Basalt quickly, get out of here to the top of the mountain," Twilight asked, Christelle quickly snatched the colt up in magic and carried on the accent. Twilight channeled some magic to use telepathy, "Shining, quickly move back down the mountain," She said as she levitated Luna onto her back, the cut was just under the wing. Although quite a big cut it will heal but she could not fly on her own for now, Twilight beat her wings as hard as she could trying to get out of the hole. Christelle was already out and waiting.

Christelle watched on as the smoke rose from the dragons mouth, suddenly the rocks of the jaw began to crack and web across its body, breaking and collapsing on the holes opening. Twilight saw her exit being blocked and tapped into her magic reserves, her horn lit up in purple hue as she stopped, the rocks making their way down the hole as they thundered against the walls. When the rocks were about to hit them they sparked out of existence in a bright white light only to appear outside the cave, "Shining is on his way out, the bottom of the mountain is more stable and it wont take as long going down the mountain"

Both Twilight and Christelle carried their passengers as they weaved around the towering spurts of lava that erupted the surface of the mountain top, racing to the edge, that was until a thundering crack was heard. The mountains surface began splitting down the middle, a long opening where the running lava fell, the surface shifted as the far end of the mountain began to rise up as the front lowered. Christelle stopped momentarily looking at the rise in the mountain and the direction it tilted, "All Mother, if the mountain rises this way, the empire below will bathe in this lava. We can't leave it like this," Twilight who had stopped as well, albeit still keeping an eye on their surroundings.

"I understand but I can do something if we get to the edge," Christelle looked over and nodded, they carried on flying to the edge, finally making it.

The surface was now at a very dangerous angle, luckily Shining had gotten out of the mountain at the bottom, he starred up at the group noticing something small on Christelles back but it might have been anything at that distance. With a warning from Twilight he and the other ponies moved a great distance from the mountain side, pooling lava began to drop off the edge of the now tilting mountain, it made its way down slow because of its small size for the moment.

Twilight lit her horn and asked for Christelle to hold Luna, her wings split once more as they glowed pure white, swirls of energy built at the top of her horn. She directed her horn at an angle as her eyes turned black, the black split onto her muzzle as her power grew, her body slowly shifting into her cosmic form. Soon there was a large swirling sphere of energy at her horns tip. With everypony out of the way, the mountain side now had streams of lava about to pour over its sides, finally she let loose the energy from her horn. Directing a beam of light from left to right at the base of the mountain, dirt and bedrock shifted as the lava tumbled down into the pit, she kept the line going all the way to the edge of the mountain as it filled.

Slowly the light above her horn faded with the last residual amounts of energy were released, the lava now evening and the mountain slowly breaking down at a much more slow rate, now with no threat from the mountain it was safe again. Twilight turned to the group and flew down to join Luna, Christelle and Shinings group, "That should stop anything reaching the crystal empire, Shining I think it best though for now for a few days to have the shield up for precaution"

Shining nodded and looked around, no pony was affected by the large quantity of magic that Twilight had just emitted so that was good, his eyes drifted over the group until his eyes met something in between Christelles wings, "What is that"

"What?" asked Twilight.

"That," He said pointing to the small black bundle on Chryssy's back, "what is tha-" he stopped as the little black bundle stretched and turned to face him, beady black eyes and a red mane, a little nub of a horn and a pair of black wings. "An alicorn... really... How?" he asked dumbfounded.

"Oh you meant Basalt, well I will explain everything when we get back to the castle in the empire, come on then. The Volcano will still be active for a few days so we need to have a shield prepaired just in case it decides to erupt once more, come then, "She said walking next to Christelle and looking down at Basalt, "We will show you what the new age of ponies looks like," she said with a motherly smile before cantering forward as the group shuffled after her.

Slowly the lava heated the mountain and field in front of where it now laid, the snow melted as luscious grass slowly crept ever closer to the boarders of the empire, summer would soon be back in the northern hemisphere of Equine. The group arrived back at the castle, not long after Cadence had attempted to take Basalt away from Christelle to hug but reluctantly left him in Chryssy's hooves as she was very protective for some reason. Basalt looked to be sad but in wonder at the same time, never in his life had he seen such beauty as the Crystal empire, spires of art, ponies coats shimmered. The towns ponies flourished upon the high street as many greeted them before looking out at the huge orange lit clouds at the now smaller mountain.

Minute later, the castle could be seen, guards parted ways for the large group as they moved through the courtyard. Now all Twilight could think about was how they would take the next part, how would the rest of the world loom onto the changeling race when there true form is revealed, will it accept them. This thought was very troubling as she has seen many versions of the day they turn back, some were not very good experiences, others she would not wish on anypony, hopefully this is not one of those times. Only the morn will tell the truth, back in Canterlot when all is gathered, there the race will once again be revived. A new age is ushering in for pony kind and it could either be the downfall of their hope, or the last slither of it to find the other lost races, this was her last thought before they got to the throne room.

Now it was up to Twilight to offer them their choice, stay as they are, or become something new that they have long forgotten how to be.

The group entered into the throne room as they pooled around the red carpet, Twilight ascended the steps and looked down, her face looked to be contemplating something that was on her mind but soon changed to a more neutral look. She turned her head and looked down at Christelle who knew what was coming due to the link, <If I tell them, there is no going back, they could in fact take this all the wrong way. Those thousands of years ago only few would live near your kingdom due to this fact, do you still wish for me to reveal the true nature of the Flutterponies? The choice is yours my child> Twilight said, looking directly at her, only to receive a nod to carry on.

Twilight sighed before standing tall, "Today we have retrieved the amulet to release the curse upon the Changelings and have also freed a gentle soul of his chains that bound him to a cruel fate. Today I present you a choice, if you accept the world will be altered, it is not my choice but your own as fate would decide. Now choose, would you want the changeling race to be part of your empire after you know there true nature? or will you forsake their kind like I have seen you do so many times, the choice is yours!"
