> Don't go into the woods > by Rangeralex92 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Disappearances > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a cool October night in Ponyville. Everything was quiet accept for the occasional rustle of leaves from the wind. Very few ponies were out even though it was still early in the night when usually everypony would be out having dinner at the local restaurant, shopping, or coming home from work. What few ponies that were out were hurrying to get to where they were going. Why were they hurrying? They were afraid. But afraid of what? They were afraid because lately ponies had been disappearing like nopony's business. Why were these townsfolk disappearing like this? Where were they going to? There were so many questions that went un-answered. But this wasn't the only thing that had been happening. A few days after the ponies disappeared, they would come back to town. This may seem good, but it was not. In fact, some of the townsfolk say that it would have been better if they would have stayed gone. Why would they wish such a terrible thing on these ponies? The reason why is because they would come back different than they usually were. The first pony this happened to was a pony by the name of Shimmer Mist. She was normally a quite happy and chipper pony, acting much the same way Pinkie Pie does. In fact, her and Pinkie were good friends. But that all changed one day. It was a Monday afternoon. Shimmer had gone out to do her weekly shopping at the market plaza in downtown Ponyville. She had stopped at all the stands she normally did, in the specific order she had. She started her shopping out at Sugarcube Corner like she normally did. She walked inside the door to the fragrant smell of freshly baked goods. She walked up to the display case and browsed the large selection of baked goods ranging from cupcakes to danishes to freshly baked bread. "Whatcha' looking at Shimmer," said a high pitched voice. It was Pinkie Pie. Pinkie trotted over to Shimmer to see what she was doing. "Oh, just seeing what kind of wonderful things you have in your case today. I was hoping to find some fresh hay rye bread, but i can't seem to find it" said Shimmer as she looked up at Pinkie. Pinkie looked through the glass for a minute before realizing that they had run out. "Oh my! I'll get some baking for you right now" replied Pinkie. "Already on it" came Mr. Cake's voice from behind the counter. "So you want to hear about what I saw the other day, Shimmer" Pinkie questioned. "Well maybe another ti..." Shimmer was cut short by Pinkie, who was going to tell her anyway. "So when I was going to Sweet Apple Acres the other day, I saw something. This wasn't any ordinary something like a chicken, or a flower, or a flying pig, but a not ordinary something!" Pinkie grabbed Shimmer's head and pulled Shimmer close to her. "It was a weird something, Shimmer! Weird!" "What was it, Pinkie" questioned Shimmer. "It looked like a pony, but it wasn't a pony. It was like a ghost, or a zombie, or a crawly clown! Normal clowns are okay, but not those crawly clowns! They're just weird. But anyway, I saw it going toward the Everfree forest. I haven't seen it since, and I don't know if I want to" Pinkie told. "Your bread is ready, Shimmer" said Mr. Cake as he brought out a fresh baked loaf of hay rye bread and gave it to her. Shimmer smiled and nodded, handing Mr. Cake the bits for the bread. Shimmer looked back toward Pinkie and said, "Well, that was a very ravishing story, Pinkie. Maybe you can tell me more about it later!" "Okey Dokey Lokey" Pinkie excitedly said as Shimmer walked out the door. Shimmer made her rounds to all the other stores and stands she usually went to, and ended at her last stop, Applejack's apple cart. As she walked up to the cart, she got the sweet, fragrant smell of apples and apple goods. It was one of her favorite smells. She approached the cart to be bombarded by Applebloom trying to sell apples to her. "Would ya like tah buy some apples? Of course ya do! Who doesn't like apples? Nopony! Ah sure love em" Applebloom rambled. "Ah'm mighty sorry 'bout that, Shimmer. Applebloom just gets a little too excited sometimes" Applejack apologized. Shimmer smiled at AJ and said "Not a problem! Besides, she's just trying to be like her sister. Anyway, I'm just here to get an apple pie and a couple fritters." Applejack walked back over to the cart and got them for her. "How much do I owe you AJ?" "Ah, don't worry 'bout it, sugarcube. We're friends, and Ah feel like being nice today" Applejack laughed. "Be careful on your way home! There's a weird thing tha'ts been roaming around lately" said AJ. Puzzled, Shimmer turned back to Applejack and asked "What kind of thing?" AJ replied with a statement that shocked Shimmer. AJ said that it looked like a pony, but wasn't a pony. Maybe like a ghost pony. Pinkie had said the same thing earlier. Now Shimmer was a little scared. Shimmer made her way home, being careful to look out for this so-called "ghost pony". She lived down a long back road that was right on the edge of the Everfree forest. As she reached her road, she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She looked to where she had seen whatever it was, but there was nothing there. 'Must be my mind trying to scare me' she thought. She began to walk down the road again, only to see that thing again. 'Ok, brain, you can stop now. You've scared me enough now' she thought. She began down the road again, but faster this time. Then she heard something behind her. It sounded like a hissing, growling sound. She stopped dead in her tracks. She was terrified. Did she dare turn around? When she turned around, she saw the ghost pony. Everything in her body told her to run, but she felt like she was glued in place. The ghost pony appeared as a black cloud of mist, but solid. It stood at least a head taller than Shimmer. Shimmer finally began to run as fast as she could, not looking back. After what felt like an eternity, she could see her house in the distance. She could no longer hear the ghost pony, so she stopped to breathe, thinking it was safe. Every breath she took burned her lungs because she was so exhausted. She stood there for a minute to gather her bearings, and then began to walk to her house, which was now very close. But something wasn't right. She stopped and turned around. There, just inches behind her was the ghost pony. It grew tentacles out of the side of its torso and grabbed Shimmer. Shimmer let out a bloodcurdling scream as it dragged her into the woods. For a few days, there was no sign of Shimmer. She hadn't come by any of the shops and she hadn't been seen around town like normal. But out of nowhere one day, Shimmer came back. But she was different. Her coat was a dull, blue color (whereas it was normally a sky blue color), her mane was matted and tangled like she hadn't taken a bath in a few days, and her eyes were a faded, almost white, grey color. When she spoke, she spoke in a very monotone voice things that sounded like they had been scripted for a play. She wasn't normal. After a while, this started happening to more and more ponies. They would mysteriously disappear, and a few days later, they would return like Shimmer did, dull coats, messy manes, and grey eyes. And every time it happened, it happened at the edge of the Everfree forest. Word had gotten to Canterlot about this, so Princess Celesstia put out a decree that read: "Due to the strange disappearances and reappearances happening here, the Everfree has been declared off-limits to all ponies unless on official business appointed by the Royal Equestrian Council." The main message, Don't go into the woods! > The Book > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As this happened to more ponies, Twilight became intrigued with the matter. She began doing research on the matter. She began to read old news articles on missing ponies, books about finding lost things, and other such things in hope of finding something that could explain the problem. With every book and news article, she found herself disappointed, fining nothing of any use to her. "What could be causing these ponies to disappear and re-appear like this?! I'm looking in all the places where there should be an answer, but finding nothing" Twilight grunted as she tossed another book on top of her mountain of books and articles that she had read. "I just don't know where to look!" She laid her head on the floor with a look of defeat on her face. Spike entered the room and walked toward the lavender alicorn. He spoke to her in a gentle manner: "Twilight, are you okay? You have been looking for three days now! Don't you think it's time to give it a break? Maybe if you take a break, you will be able to find something without being so stressed out." "No, Spike. I'm not going to quit searching until I find out what is going on and why these ponies keep disappearing" said Twilight as she stood up. She walked toward the bookshelves again, hoping to find another book that might give her an answer. All she came to find was an empty bookshelf. Twilight paced back and forth in front of the shelves, looking high and low for something else. A book. A magazine. Anything! As she was looking, something caught her attention. There was a small rectangular, off colored spot on the back of one of the bookshelves. 'What's this' she thought to herself. She reached out and touched it with her hoof. When she touched it, the spot drew back into the wall and slid to the left, revealing an old, large book. "I haven't seen this book before. What is it?" She read the title aloud: "'Septimus Sigmus's Guide to Spirits, Curses, Daedra, and Other Mythical Beings'." "I don't recall seeing it in here either, Twilight" said Spike as he flipped the book over to see the back cover. "In fact, I don't think I've ever even heard of this book before! I wonder what's inside." "Nothing but a bunch of mumbo-jumbo that somepony wrote to trick other ponies into believing in ghosts and goblins" Twilight ranted as she took the book out of Spike's hands and began to put it back. But before she set the book down, something made her stop and just hold the book there. She felt as if there was a barrier between the book and the shelf. She began to think, "What is in that book? Could there be something in there that would be useful to me? Nah, like I said, its just a bunch of made up ghosts and goblins. Nothing of my interest." She put the book back and looked at the clock. It was already 10 P.M. "Wow it's late! We better get going to bed, Spike" said Twilight as she began to walk upstairs to her bedroom. Spike followed after her and literally jumped into bed. "Maybe I'll find something in the morning. Maybe." Twilight drifted off to sleep and began to dream. * * * * * * * * Twilight began to run. She didn't know why she was running, but she was. She felt like something was chasing her and she couldn't get away from it. She didn't dare look behind her. She didn't have any clue where she was or how she had gotten there. All she knew was that she had to keep running from whatever was pursuing her. She ran for what seemed like an eternity. She still didn't know what was chasing her. She made the decision to look behind and see her pursuer and immediately regretted it. When she turned around, all she saw was a black cloud. But this was not any ordinary cloud. This cloud was a cloud of pure evil, looking to devour anything it came in contact with. Why was this chasing her? All she knew is that she had to keep running. She turned around again to see that the cloud was gaining on her. She ran faster, but it was no use. The faster she ran, the faster is came toward her. She turned around once more to see that it was merely feet away from her. She tried to use her magic to teleport herself, but her magic would not work. The cloud caught up to Twilight, and before she knew it, the cloud had consumed her in all its pure evil. She let out a shriek as everything turned to black. * * * * * * * * Twilight woke up in a puddle of sweat. She was terrified. She thought to herself, 'What just happened? Was that a dream? It felt so real! Did that actually just happen?' She jumped out of bed and looked around. She was in her library. Nothing was chasing her. Everything was normal. "I need to find Zecora. She's the only one who can help me." Twilight grabbed her saddlebag and of all things, the 'Spetimus Sigmus's Guide to Spirits, Curses, Daedra, and Other Mythical Beings'. She felt that she needed to bring it. "Zecora might be able to tell me about this" she though. Twilight exited the library and then began to run towards Zecora's house as fast as she could. > Zecora > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight ran through the Everfree Forest, constantly checking behind her to make sure that nothing was following her. After that dream, she was paranoid. That dream not only felt real, but it felt like it meant something. But what? That's why Twilight was going to Zecora's. Zecora, being the only one who knew about these things, was the only one who could help. And maybe she could tell Twilight more about the book she had found earlier. Before she knew it, Twilight had arrived at Zecora's home. She knocked on the door. It took Zecora a minute to get to the door (seeing as it was 2 in the morning). Zecora opened the door. She was still half asleep. She did not look pleased to see Twilight standing at her door. "Yes, Twilight? You coming in the night gave me quite a fright" said Zecora in her usual rhyming pentameter. "I need your help. I had a dream, no, a nightmare and I need to see if you can interpret it. And i also have a book i need you to look at" Twilight told the zebra. Zecora looked at Twilight with a confused look on her face, but then smiled and said, "Come in, my friend! To your need, we will attend!" Twilight followed Zecora into the hut. There were different potions, plants, and ingredients lined up on shelves on the wall. Twilight sat down at the table in the center of the room. Zecora brought over two cups of her home-made tea. It was Twilight's favorite. Zecora sat down across from Twilight and looked at her as if she was studying some sort of new species of animal. "You had a dream that frightened you" asked Zecora. She was in deep though thinking about what could have scared Twilight so much. Twilight was sobbing quietly into her hooves, holding back tears. She had never been this terrified before. "Yes. It wasn't just any regular nightmare though. I felt that it had a deeper, darker meaning. It felt as if I were actually there" Twilight said in a quavering voice to Zecora as she began to drink the tea. "I knew that you were the only one who could help me." Zecora pondered what Twilight had said. She had heard of dreams that felt real, but this was different. She sensed that the dream not only felt real to Twilight, but it also felt real to her. It felt as if something had been controlling Twilight's dream, causing this fear to be instilled in her. Zecora could feel the presence of a darker force causing this. "I have an idea to see what it means. But first, we will have to enter your dreams" said Zecora as she walked over to her wall of potions. "Enter my dreams? What do you mean, Zecora" asked Twilight, who was obviously confused at the zebra's plan. Zecora poured a bottle of a dark colored liquid into her large kettle. "I mean exactly what I said. We will have to enter into your head" she stated. "This brew will let me enter into your dream and help you find what it means. But you seem nervous it seems." She was right. Twilight was nervous. She had no knowledge that something like that was even possible. But it was also Zecora we're talking about here, so it didn't surprise her that it was possible. "But don't worry! We will be out in a hurry" Zecora said with a smile on her face, trying to calm Twilight. "What do you mean 'we'" exclaimed Twilight in a harsh voice. "I thought that you would be able to do it on your own!" Twilight was getting even more nervous now. Not because Zecora was going into her dreams, but because she would have to relive the whole thing again. She didn't like the thought of that. It was terrifying enough the first time! But she also knew that the only way to find out what was going on was to do this. "I need you, my friend, to re-enact the dream. Besides, we are a team" Zecora told Twilight. Zecora brought over two cups of her brew and set one in front of Twilight. Twilight was hesitant about doing this. "On the count of three" said Twilight. "One, Two, Three." They both downed the potion and everything went dark. * * * * * * * * Twilight began to run. She was back where she was before, but only this time, Zecora was with her. They both ran as fast as they could, trying to keep away from this black cloud. Twilight didn't dare look back, even though she knew what was following them. Zecora looked behind them and saw the black cloud. She turned back around and even had a look of fear on her face. She could feel the pure evil flowing from this mysterious cloud. This was serious. She had never seen anything like this before. They continued to run for what seemed to be an eternity. Twilight then realized what part of the dream this was. "Zecora! It's going to catch up to us! I remember this! Run" Twilight yelled to Zecora. As soon as Twilight said that, the cloud engulfed them both, and everything turned to black. * * * * * * * * Twilight and Zecora woke up terrified. Even Zecora was frightened by what had just happened. "You said you brought a book. May i take a look" asked Zecora. Twilight pulled out the book and gave it to Zecora. She recognized the book as being a book written by one of her own kind, a zebra named Septimus Sigmus. Zecora opened the book and began to look through it. She spent about 20 minutes searching through the book. Suddenly, something caught her eye. She closed the book and gave it back to Twilight. "Look at page 214, it will help with you with your dream" said Zecora. Twilight took the book and put it in her saddlebag. "Thanks Zecora. I will look at the book in the morning" said Twilight. She left Zecora's hut and headed home. When she arrived home, it was 7 A.M. and Spike was making breakfast. "Hey Twilight! Where have you been? i made you pan..." He was cut off by the sound of Twilight snoring. "Oh Twilight. You go ahead and sleep. I'll just eat your pancakes!" > Twilight's Terror > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight found herself in a state of confusion. She didn't know where she was or what she was doing there. There was a stench to the room that made Twilight want to vomit. She tried to stand up, but she couldn't move. She had been tied down to some sort of table."Where am I" she said, hearing her voice echo. She then heard the sound of hoof steps echoing throughout the room. "You're in my party room, silly" replied a familiar voice. "Pinkie Pie? Is that you" Twilight questioned the voice. "Yep! It's me" replied Pinkie. "What am I doing here? Why am I tied down? What's going on here" Twilight frantically asked. Pinkie stepped out of the shadows and in front of Twilight. She was wearing some sort of dress that had wings protruding from the side of it. The fabric had many different patterns on it. But something wasn't normal about the patterns. They all looked like...cutie marks! Many of them Twilight recognized. "Your dress...it's...it's..." Twilight was lost for words. "Wonderful? Pretty? Fantastic" Pinkie answered. "Here, let me turn the lights on and we can start the party!" She turned the lights on. It was worse than Twilight could have ever imagined. Dead ponies hung from the walls, most of them only beheaded torsos. Blood caked the walls and floors. There were spikes protruding from the floor, each with a ponies head on top. Each of the heads had their eyes gouged out, which left blood stains running down the faces. Twilight had been tied down at every point possible. Her wings were spread out and had been tied down, her legs were restrained, and her head was being held down with a strap. "Enough with the idle chit-chat and let's start the party" said Pinkie, as she pulled over a cart. The cart had a medical bag on top of it. Pinkie reached into the bag and pulled out a scalpel. "What are you going to do with that? If I did something to make you mad, I..I'm sorry! Just PLEASE don't hurt me" shrieked Twilight. "Oh, Twilight, I just want to play with you! First, i want to make an addition to my dress" said Pinkie as she put the scalpel to Twilight's flank. "Please Pinkie! Don't do this" said Twilight, trying to hold back tears. Pinkie pressed the scalpel and began to cut at Twilight's cutie mark. Twilight screamed in pain, feeling every nerve be severed. "Stop squirming! We wouldn't want the edges to be crooked" Pinkie said, slowly cutting a straight line down Twilight's flank. Twilight began to feel the blood dripping down her leg and onto the floor. "Allright, now to remove your cutie mark" said Pinkie as she slowly ripped off Twilight's flesh from her body. Twilight let out a bloodcurdling scream, no longer holding back her tears. Pinkie began to cut off Twilight's other cutie mark, using the same cutting and ripping procedure before. "Oh Celestia, please stop Pinkie! Let me go and we can forget this ever happened! I won't say a word to anypony" cried Twilight, trying to get Pinkie to let her go. "Aw, you're no fun! I threw this party just for you, and what do I get? Nothing! I threw this party for YOU, Twilight, and you want to leave? I don't think so" screamed Pinkie, obviously angry. Twilight was losing a lot of blood. She looked down to see a large puddle of her own blood below her. "Allright, Pinkie, I've had enough of this! I'm getting out of here!" Twilight's horn flared up with light. She tried to loosen her restraints, but before she could, Pinkie slapped her across the face. "You will NOT leave this party until I say you can! Now, we can't have you trying that little trick again" pinkie said, raising a hack saw up to Twilight's horn. She began sawing off Twilight's horn. Twilight screamed in pain, and then vomited. After a minute, the sawing stopped, and Pinkie was holding Twilight's horn in her hoof. Twilight began sobbing loudly. She could feel the blood from where her horn used to be dripping onto her face. She looked back toward Pinkie, who was bringing a large butcher's knife toward her. "Now, lets get those pretty wings off! They'll make a great addition to my dress" said Pinkie. She swung the knife, striking Twilight's wing. Twilight screamed in pain, as she could feel every hit of the knife against her. Blood splattered everywhere, covering the walls, floors, and her's and Pinkie's face. "This is fun, don't you agree, Twilight?" Twilight was in too much pain to speak. Finally the chopping stopped, only to be followed by Pinkie ripping Twilight's wing from her body. Pinkie placed the wing on a table, and then began to chop off the other wing. Twilight screamed in pain, and began to feel the blood dripping down her side. Pinkie ripped her wing off and placed it with the other. "Now, let's finish this up" said Pinkie in her normal, happy voice. Pinkie grabbed the scalpel again and placed it against Twilight's chest. "Thanks for playing with me, Twi! You lasted a long time! But, all good things must come to an end sometime." Pinkie smiled and said "Goodbye, Twilight." She cut downward, letting all of Twilight's intestines and other internal organs hit the floor. Twilight felt every nerve being severed as Pinkie cut. But, the pain started to fade away as life began to slip away from Twilight. Everything faded to black. Twilight was dead. > Pink Frights > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie woke up to what seemed to be a normal morning. The babies were still asleep, so she had to be careful where she stepped so she could avoid waking the babies by stepping on a creaky floorboard. Pinkie gingerly stepped past the babies' room and went straight to the bathroom. She carefully opened the door, again, to avoid waking the babies. She stepped in and started her morning routine. Pinkie always started her morning off by taking a shower to wake herself up. She turned on the water, reaching her hoof in to feel the water temperature. "Brrr, too cold" she said, recoiling by the surprising chill of the water. She turned the handle, making the water warmer. She finally was able to get the water to a perfect temperature. As she got in, she noticed a rubber duck, and being Pinkie Pie, she just HAD to play with it! After her shower, she brushed her teeth and mane, and started to head downstairs for breakfast. By this time, the Babies were up, so she didn't have to be quiet anymore. "Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Cake" Pinkie said in a chipper voice. "Good morning Pinkie. I made you some breakfast. It's sitting on the table" said Mr. Cake. "Thank you" Pinkie said as she began to eat the danish and muffin that had been set out for her. After breakfast, Pinkie headed out to start her day. She had so much planned! She was going to go to Twilight's to help her with a new spell, and then her and Rainbow Dash were going to go play some pranks on ponies, and then she was going to go see Rarity so she could model a dress for her, and Fluttershy had asked if she could help feed the animals today. After she did all that, Applejack had invited her over for dinner. Pinkie went and did all the things she had planned. She helped Twilight with her new spell (which turned out to be a spell that could turn anything into ice cream), and her and Rainbow Dash played an awesome prank on Big Mac by replacing his cart with a huge block of swiss cheese, and Rarity made a beautiful new dress for her, and Pinkie loved all the animals at Fluttershy's! The only thing she had left to do was go to Sweet Apple Acres to have dinner with Applejack and her family. Pinkie started her way over to the farm, wondering what they would be eating for dinner. As she was hopping along thinking about all the delicious foods they might eat, something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. It looked like something had just moved very quickly past her. "Ah, just my mind playing pranks on me. Brain, we already played pranks on Big Mac, remember" she said as she giggled at her own joke. But as she started hopping again, she saw this thing once more. "What was that" she asked to herself. Pinkie began to cautiously walk toward the farm again, looking out for this thing. As she was walking, she heard something walking in the nearby woods. Pinkie stopped and looked over to where she had heard the noise. What she saw was not what she was expecting it to be. She was expecting a deer or a squirrel, but no. This was definitely not a deer or squirrel. What she saw was a black cloud, roughly in the shape of a male pony. It stood at least a head taller than Big Mac (who is already a head taller than Pinkie) and was wider than a normal pony. He looked like a ghost, but he also looked like a real pony that you could touch and feel. Pinkie stood there motionless, not sure if she should make a run for Sweet Apple Acres, or not move at all, hoping to not be noticed. She decided to slowly walk toward the farm, keeping an eye on the pony. At first, the ghost pony had not noticed her, but when she began to move, it snapped its head in the direction of Pinkie, and let off a horrific, bloodcurdling scream. It began to charge at Pinkie. Pinkie ran as fast as she could, putting every ounce of strength she had toward her legs. She turned around to see that it was still following her. After what seemed like forever, Sweet Apple acres came into view. Pinkie turned around once more to see that the ghost pony had stopped following her. She ran to the door and knocked. Applejack opened the door, and before she could even say hi, Pinkie ran in. "What in tarnation is going on with you" AJ asked frantically. "You have GOT to hear what just happened to me" said Pinkie. As they ate dinner, Pinkie explained to Applejack what had happened. "That sounds like a mighty crazy story, sugarcube" said AJ as she ate the spaghetti Granny Smith had made. "Why don't ya have Big Mac walk ya home later? We wouldn't want ya to be chased by this thing again" inquired Applejack. Big Mac let out a grunt. He was still not happy with Pinkie about the whole 'replacing the cart with cheese' prank. "Oh, git over it, ya big red baby" Applebloom chimed in. "Well, Ah guess it was pretty funny. Allright, Ah'll walk ya home, Pinkie" Big Mac agreed. After they had finished eating dessert, Big Mac and Pinkie left, watching out for the ghost pony. They saw no sign of it. Finally, they reached Sugarcube Corner. "Thanks Big Mac" Pinkie said. Big Mac replied with his classic "Eeyup" and then started going home. "That was one crazy day. All I want to do now is go to bed" Pinkie said as she yawned. She walked up the stairs and into her room. She laid down on the bed, and immediately fell asleep. > The Night Never Ends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie was disoriented. The whole room seemed to spin around her. Pinkie tightly closed her eyes, hoping for relief from the dizziness. She opened her eyes again, but this time the room was stationary. She looked around to see where she was. She was in some sort of cellar. She didn't recognize the room, but there was something familiar about it. She couldn't put her hoof on what it was though. She took a deep breath, smelling the musty, damp air. She looked around the room, hoping to find something that showed where she was. There was no indication of where she was, but there was a hallway at one end of the room. 'Well, might as well start there and try to find a way out' she thought. She walked down the long corridor for what seemed like an eternity, before she reached two doors, each one with a sign on it. "Maybe there is a way out through one of these doors" she said, as she approached the first door. She read the sign aloud. "Some things are never forgotten, only pushed away." She gave a confused look. "Now, what in the hay is that supposed to mean" she questioned. She pushed open the door, to reveal a familiar room. It was her bedroom at the rock farm. There was two beds in the room. On each bed lay a small filly. Pinkie looked at the fillies, recognizing them as herself and her sister, Maud, as fillies. They were both sound asleep, not moving a muscle. Pinkie walked into the room and looked out the window. It was raining outside. Then Pinkie heard what sounded like hoofsteps coming from the hallway where she had just come from. "What was that" came the young Pinkie's voice as she sat up in bed. "Oh, it's just me, Pinkie. I'm you from the future" said Pinkie to her younger self. She didn't even notice."I don't know" said Maud. The hoofsteps got louder as they got closer. Pinkie turned around to see a brown stallion with a hat step in the room. The two young fillies screamed as he entered the room. He quickly rushed over to Maud and lifted her up with magic, indicating that he was a unicorn. He silenced her screaming with his magic. The young Pinkie backed herself into a corner as the stallion approached her, keeping his grip on Maud, whom he was levitating behind him. He lifted up the young pink filly. As soon as he did, their father stepped into the room. "You put my girls down, or I'll kill you, you bastard" Pinkie's father said, lifting a sledgehammer they used to crush rocks. "Now, let's not do anything rash, hm? We wouldn't want something bad to happen to these sweet little girls, now would we" the unicorn said. Pinkie's father was even more angry now. "I've had enough of your shit. You put them down NOW or I WILL kill you" her father said. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Besides, where I'm going to take them will be SO much better than this boring rock farm" replied the stallion, who was strengthening his grip on the fillies. Pinkie's father let out a scream, and smashed the unicorn's head with the sledgehammer, causing him to lose his grip on Maud and young Pinkie. He screamed in pain, as blood started to run down his face. The unicorn shot a burst of magic at Pinkie's father, who avoided it with ease. Her father charged at the bleeding stallion and slammed him against the wall. He raised the hammer again, and struck the stallion in the chest, breaking his ribs with an audible crack. Her father struck the unicorn in the head again, breaking off his horn. The unicorn cried out in pain. "P-P-Please stop!" He was now severely bleeding from his head and chest, making puddles of blood on the floor. Pinkie's father raised the hammer once more, and smashed the unicorns' head, which burst open, spilling his brain and blood onto the floor. Pinkie closed her eyes, and began to cry. When she re-opened them, everything was gone. She was all alone, no one around. The images she had just seen was a memory that had taken place in her childhood. She had pushed that memory to the back of her mind, never thinking about it. Having to relive that incident again made her want to vomit. That had to have been the worst thing she ever endured. She was terrified to find out what was behind the second door. Pinkie walked across the hall to the second, final door. This door didn't feel like the other door. This one had a darker, more sinister feel to it, like there was a dark force behind it. Scared of what was behind the door, Pinkie read the sign. "A child has prayed unto his mother, and made a contract, sealed with blood." This terrified Pinkie. She cautiously opened the door, revealing a dimly lit room. Pinkie entered the room, and saw something that confused and terrified her. It was a young filly sewing flesh onto a pony's skeleton. The child then picked up a knife, and began to stab the corpse while chanting "Sweet Mother, Sweet Mother, send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear." Pinkie didn't know what to do. She stood there and watched, not moving for fear of being killed by this filly. Then, out of nowhere, came a pony, dressed in black robes. He had a black mist that radiated around him. She could tell he was nothing but pure evil. "The g-ghost pony" Pinkie said to herself. "You have called upon me, Child of the Night. Whom shall I kill" said the ghost pony to the filly. The filly then turned around and pointed at Pinkie. The ghost pony then began to walk toward Pinkie. Pinkie ran out of the room as fast as she could. She looked behind her to see the ghost pony right on her tail. She began crying out of fear for her life. She turned around once more to see that the ghost pony was no longer behind her. She faced forward again, and ran into something solid. She hit the floor hard. When she looked up to see what she had hit, she saw the ghost pony. He then revealed his blood-stained, razor sharp teeth. Pinkie screamed as he lunged forward. He bit into Pinkie's head, and everything faded to black. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pinkie shot up in bed, and immediately ran to the bathroom and emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet. She looked up at the clock on the wall. It was two in the morning. Mr. Cake rushed into her room. "Pinkie, are you okay?! We heard you screaming! Is something wrong" he said as he came to Pinkie and pulled her in close to him. "I'm fine. I-I just had a really bad nightmare" she said. But she knew they were just more than nightmares. They felt too real to be just nightmares. She needed to go see Twilight.
