Twilight groaned as she looked at the grayish versions of what her friends had become. They definitely weren't too happy right now, she noticed, but she didn't care.

"I don't believe this..." Twilight said. Her friends all looked at her with sour expressions on their faces and she sighed.

"I can't believe all my friends... Have turned into complete JERKS!" she shouted.

Pinkie, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity all smiled at her smugly and Twilight sighed again, scrapping the dirt on the ground.

"Well, this means that... Discord's won."

Her friends looked at Twilight with unconcerned expressions, expressions that showed they probably didn't even care. Which is the case, it seemed.

Spike was now in view of Twilight with Rainbow Dash's element necklace on when he asked, "Wait Twilight, what about Rainbow Dash?"

Twilight looked at Spike with the element on and jingling as he walked a little closer to her. "Rainbow Dash is gone, Spike. They're all gone," she replied in a hushed voice.

Twilight had the saddest look planted on her face which seemed to stab Spike right in the heart. "But Twilight, don't just want to try to beat Discord?" he asked with sad, big eyes.

She shook her head as an answer and sighed once again. She definitely had no idea of how to stop Discord without the elements of harmony; Without her friends.

"Ah don't see why we have to, Ponyville looks so much nicer this way!" Applejack lied, biting her lip and widening her eyes afterwards.

Twilight groaned. This was most definitely not going well.

"We don't have to, guys! Twilight's just a big party pooper!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, folding her hooves in an uncaring at all way.

Twilight looked at Pinkie curiously, since when did she start caring? She'd been quiet this whole time!

"Yeah, well... Who needs YOU GUYS!" Twilight yelled, hurt by Pinkie's comment.

Pinkie smirked and laughed at Twilight's hurt expression, and the rest of the gang followed. Twilight sniffed injured and Spike put his clawed hand on her side, he glared at the girls.

The rest of the ponies smirked and walked off, and Twilight's ears drooped. She cried out in frustration and sadness.

"With friends like you... Who... needs... Enemies." Twilight whispered as she started to cry.

Rainbow Dash flew off in search of Cloudsdale. She was so worried, her home was going to be crushed by Discord's magic! She had to get there as soon as possible.

She smiled as she finally reached home. She flapped her wings and called out, and many ponies cheered. She didn't seem to realize that it was all inside her own mind.

She sighed out in relief as she flopped down onto the small cloud that she thought was Cloudsdale. Smiling, she decided that this would be the perfect time for a celebratory nap.

So she took one.

Twilight was still crying. She had been crying for what seemed like hours now. The pain in her heart had not stopped, it felt like the whole thing was being ripped appart.

She sobbed as she got up shakily. It was dark out now, but she had no idea what the actual time was, Discord's magic had screwed everything up. Even the fabric of time.

Sighing, Twilight walked slowly up the stairs and entered her bedroom.

She looked at the purple and green blob on the floor that she knew must be Spike. Her vision was very blurry though, from all her crying. It took awhile for his from to show up clearly.

She was right, it was Spike and he was curled up on the fetal position on the floor. Twilight sighed as she cast a healing spell on him and he jumped up in surprise, knocking what looked like letters from the Princess everywhere.

"Spike! What are you doing? You should be packing." Twilight ordered.

Spike looked at her in confusion, packing? What was Twilight talking about?

"Um, why?" Spike asked with a shrug.

Twilight groaned and lifted her suit-case from underneath her bed.

"Because, Spike. There's nothing left for us here. We have to move somewhere else." Twilight replied.

Her idea seemed great in her head, but she actually had no idea where they could go. It seemed like running away.

Twilight frowned at Spike who was still confused. "But the Princess sent all these letters, I think she wants you to read them." Spike said smiling.

"I don't have time for that, Spike!" Twilight replied.

Spike's smile fell and she frowned at him. "Why don't you help me pack up?" Twilight asked briskly.

Spike nodded sadly and got her saddle bags out from the drawers. He sighed and looked at Twilight sadly, she was packing tons of books and had a very angry glare on her face.

It kind of scared him.

"Twilight, don't you care at all!? Equestria could be ruined by Discord!" Spike explained, he was hoping to get Twilight to read all these letters.

He sighed as she shook her head in response and sighed sadly.

"I'm sorry, Spike. But without my friends what chance does Equestria have?" Twilight replied bitterly.

Spike was surprised, he had never seen Twilight so lost and depressed before. She looked hopeless.

"So, we're just giving up?" Spike asked, even though he knew what the answer was.

Twilight nodded and sighed again. "Yes, Spike... It's over." She replied.

Spike's hope shattered, he turned gray just like Twilight and sighed sadly.

"Well, what do we do now?" He asked.

Twilight smiled sadly at Spike, it looked liked he had finally joined the rest of them. She shook her head as she lifted the Element of Magic crown, she put it into the trash and it hit the bottom with a thump.

"I told you, Spike. We're leaving, I don't know where we'll end up though." Twilight reminded him.

Spike just nodded absently, Twilight watched as Spike picked up the crown and began to shine it with his claws.

"Uh, yeah, that's great.... Hey Twilight? Could I have this since, you know, we're not using it anymore?" He asked.

Twilight shrugged, she didn't really care if Spike held on to the crown. She knew she didn't even need it anymore anyways.

"Sure, Spike. I don't need it anymore." She replied after a while.

Spike chuckled and placed the crown on his head, nothing happened. Not even a little spark. Spike didn't seem to mind though.

He smiled as he admired himself in the mirror.

"Okay, Spike. You ready to go?" Twilight asked him.

Spike nodded and grinned as him. Twilight and Spike walked down the stairs and left the library.

There is No Hope

Discord laughed heartily in his throne. Chaos was everywhere, and it was brilliant. He was content with this, sitting in his throne watching all the fun antics around him.

But something was missing, he wasn't sure what but there was something he seemed to have forgotten about. Something important.

He shrugged and he watched the dancing buffalo in pink tutus as they trotted by, in a pirouette. He laughed and wiped his eyes afterwards, his stomach hurt from all this laughing.

"Oh, chaos is so sweet!" He exclaimed.

He snapped his fingers and a glass appeared, he smiled as he grabbed a pink cotton candy cloud. He squeezed the cloud and chocolate milk came rushing out of it, filling the glass and getting his fur wet in the process.

"Well, now what do I do?" Discord asked himself.

He was alone Ponyville's center, and having nopony around to torment wasn't very fun. So he got up and stretched, looking around him at all his chaos. Ponies were nowhere to be found, it was getting annoying.

He sighed as he walked towards Twilight Sparkle's library, perhaps she would be a good source of fun. For now. He smiled to himself as he walked along. He had never seen so much chaos in his entire life, and his life had been long.

As he reached Twilight's library, he noticed something odd. All the lights were turned off, and there was an 'out of business' sign on the door, the sign was crooked like it had been hung up hastily.

"Well... That's odd." Discord muttered.

He smiled lazily as he entered the library, it hadn't been locked. He walked into the library and looked around, the place was deserted. He grinned as he walked over towards a glass case. It held the Elements of Harmony.

His smile grew ten-fold as he opened up the case. They all were in here, excluding the Element of Magic. This made his smile fall, he needed that one for his plan.

He chuckled to himself as he walked up the stairs. The Element must be in here somewhere, Twilight wouldn't take it with her if it didn't work anymore. He knew that the Element of Magic needed the others to work, but now the other's were under his control. So it wouldn't work, for her.

For him though, it would. It would turn into The element of Chaos. His element. He smiled as he reached Twilight's room, which was open.

He quickly slid through the door and looked around for the crown. He stopped when he looked at the garbage pail, there were letters from Princess Celestia thrown haphazardly inside of it.

He grinned as he picked up the letter, this one must have been the last one Celestia had sent Twilight. Because it seemed desperate.

Dear Twilight,

Please for the love of Equestria, do not give up!! I'm still here for you. I have been sending letters about all you're accomplishments, and you're friends too. They have done so much for you, and you would be foolish not to see that.

Discord is still out there, and he's probably growing stronger now that you have abandoned me. You and you're friends were our only hope for survival, now that you're gone... I'm not sure what I'll do.

Luna has decided to go with 'plan b'. I have to warn you though, I'm not sure what it will do to Ponyville, or you're friends. But since you're not around... Since you have abandoned me, abandoned us... I have no choice.

I'm sorry, Twilight.

Love,
~Princess Celestia

"YES!!! I'VE WON!!" Discord shouted, the crown was temporarily forgotten.

Twilight cried the whole way out of Ponyville. Spike was getting annoyed with this, but he did his best to try and cheer her up. But she wasn't making it easy.

"I just d-don't understand, Spike." She sniffled as she cried.

Her body was an even darker gray then it had been in the library, Spike noticed. He was really worried now, Twilight shouldn't be like this, she should be trying to stop Discord. But he knew she couldn't do that in this condition.

"I thought friendship was supposed to be magic. I guess I was wrong." Twilight whispered.

She sounded more depressed than she'd had in the library, this made Spike worry even more. He smiled meekly at her.

"Why can't you just find new friends?" Spike asked softly. Twilight looked at him curiously, then sighed.

"No, Spike... Those ponies were my only friends. They were the only ones who truly understood me, my feelings and my desires, who else could I want? Only them." She replied, her head hanging so low it almost hit the basket's floor.

Spike looked at Twilight's sad form and he slumped down on the balloon's floor. He felt deflated, like Twilight's depression was somehow rubbing off on him.

He sighed as Twilight cried, the balloon floating towards Canterlot.

Princess Luna watched as the stars twinkled in Canterlot's sky. In a few minutes though, they would be gone. She had no control over them, she had tried and nothing happened. It was driving her crazy.

"Princess!!" A guard shouted, running towards her.

She looked at the guard who was rushing towards her, he looked rather concerned.

"What is it? Is my sister alright?" Luna asked.

Celestia had been so tired ever since Discord's return. Her powers were slowly draining, she had gone into a deep slumber and she had not woken up. She had been asleep for three whole days and nights. She was still sleeping, well she had been when Luna had visited her.

"I, I'm not sure you're highness. It's just... Well, one of the guards had seen a balloon in the sky. He said it looked like a Ponyville balloon, Princess." The nameless guard explained as he started shaking.

He was afraid of Luna, but he hoped she couldn't see it.

"A Ponyville balloon!? Is he quite certain? We cannot have any more follies around here." Luna replied stormily as she looked the pony in the eye.

Why was he shaking, was he afraid of her? Luna sighed as the guard smiled meekly at her and nodded and began to speak.

"Y-yes, Princess. I'm quite certain he said it reminded him of a Ponyville balloon. He w-was from there so of course he would know." The guard replied, stumbling over his words.

"Where has it landed?" She asked.

The guard smiled meekly.

"I-I don't know, you're majesty." He replied, not looking at her.

Luna was outraged, she frowned as she looked at him in the eye. He shuddered under her glare.

"HOW DARE YOU COME UP HERE JUST TO TELL ME A FALSEHOOD!?" Luna shouted, using her Equestrian voice.

The guard stumbled backwards and fell on his haunches. He looked up at Luna with large, fearful eyes. This was why he was so afraid of Princess Luna.

"N-No, you're highness!! It's not a lie! I just don't think it's landed yet!!" The guard replied, cowering as she reared up in front of him.

Luna calmed herself as she looked at his widened eyes. They looked very frightened and she felt bad, she really didn't like it when she scared other ponies like this. Why couldn't she just be like he sister? Be loved instead of feared?

"Oh, well.. Very good then. I shall see it gets intercepted and that it lands at Canterlot's landing zone, thank you good sir." Luna replied and she smiled.

She was hoping for a smile back, but the guard just nodded curtly, got up off his backside and walked off. He looked like he was still shaking.

"Well then. I guess this will have to wait." Luna told herself as she smiled.
The task was a lost cause anyhow, and it was becoming draining. She walked off muttering complaints to herself.

Twilight and Spike's balloon was magically intercepted around Canterlot's center landing zone. The balloon was suddenly trapped in a magical purple aura and Spike's hopes of the magic being controlled by Rarity were crashed when he and Twilight saw that their were multiple ponies controlling the balloon.

They were the guard ponies of Canterlot.

Twilight gasped and staggered back into the balloon, her heart was racing. All these ponies were glaring at her and she had a pretty good reason why. She was sunk.

She groaned as the balloon hit the ground. The guards all came around the balloon and some were coming up into it, it looked like they were coming towards her.

"Twilight Sparkle?" A guard asked, he had a deep voice and she winced.

"Y-yes?" She asked, putting her head up a little.

The guard frowned at her and she gulped, she did not like the look in his eyes. It was so, disappointed. But how could Twilight have disappointed him? She didn't even know this guy!

"Princess Luna would like to see you. Now." He replied curtly and he nodded towards Spike who was cowering in the corner.

"He has to come too."

The Elements of Disharmony

The guards guided Twilight and Spike over towards the palace. Twilight was still depressed and gray looking, Spike wondered if anypony even noticed. It didn't seemed like they did. He sighed as he picked up the pace as a guard poked him in the side.

"Ouch..." Spike complained, the guard just grunted and continued poking him. He seemed unconcerned.

"Why are we going to see the Princess anyway?" Twilight asked. She was still sounding depressed.

Spike smiled at her sadly, he was worried about her, but he didn't know how to help. He frowned as the guards just glared at Twilight.

"You have been summoned by Princess Luna. There will be no more questions." The guard replied.

Spike sighed, this was going nowhere. He wondered how much trouble they were going to be in. Probably a lot, he figured.

Twilight was still feeling depressed so she just continued walking and crying softly.

Luna sighed as she paced back and forth in the throne room. Celestia wasn't getting any better, and her powers were now becoming drained as well. She had tried to convince Cadence to come and help her sister, but no luck. Apparently, Discord's influence had reached the Crystal Empire.

"Any sign of her yet?" She asked one of her maids.

The maid shook her head and sighed.

"I cannot see them, my lady." The maid reminded her.

This was the second time Luna had asked her this, and it was getting annoying. Luna just sighed in annoyance and tapped her foot impatiently.

"I cannot wait to lay into Twilight Sparkle for what she did to 'Tia." Luna muttered to herself as she continued to pace.

Discord's laughter died out and he gasped for air. He'd been laughing for about an hour, and his sides were aching. But he didn't care, he'd won!!

"Now, where did you put that crown Twilight Sparkle?" Discord asked himself.

The room was in shambles. Discord noticed, everything was out of place, which was making it harder for him to find the crown.

Twilight's room was filled with scrolls and letters, Discord had read each one of them and he'd found them hilarious. As if Twilight would care about these lessons in 'friendship', now that she had no friends.

Discord enjoyed the one that AppleJack had sent the most;

Dear Princess Celestia.
I didn't learn anything! I was right all along!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Discord had ripped off the rest of the letter. He found the beginning so hilarious he decided to frame it, he'd probably hang it up somewhere in his castle-once he got one that is.
Oh, AppleJack; You're too much. Discord thought and smiled as he looked through the drawers.
Twilight hadn't put the crown in them. No, that would've been too easy. Discord realized.
He frowned and sighed, this could be much more difficult than he thought. He flopped on Twilight's bed and began to think. He knew Twilight had a dragon, he suddenly remembered. He also knew that dragons loved shiny things, and tended to horde and steal them.
So why not give the crown to her little dragon? It was perfect!
"That's how Ah defeated Discord!!" AppleJack lied as she smiled towards AppleBloom.
Her sister was looking almost as gray has her. Her cute little yellow coat was now an uglier shade of dark yellow. Her hair was a grayer shade of red too.
AppleJack thought it looked swell.
"Really!? You defeated 'im? All by yerself?" AppleBloom asked.
AppleJack smiled and nodded, her sister believed anything she told her now. Just this morning she had told her that the best way to get a cutie mark was to try and wrangle some cows, which were now huge and had razor sharp teeth.
"Eeyup, all by myself. Ah just gave 'im a whoppin'!" AppleJack replied with a punch to the air.
AppleBloom beamed at her big sister. AppleJack didn't lie, so it must be true. Everything AppleJack said was true, right? AppleJack smiled back and laughed with her as she saw Big Macintosh dig himself through a hole.
Rarity smiled as she hugged her diamond necklace close. She giggled to herself and threw her element necklace into her jewel box. She laughed as she looked at all her gemstones and jewelry.
She had gone into a gem-finding spree after Twilight and her friends had gone their separate ways. It was a little difficult without Spike, but she found them anyways, it just took longer.
She didn't even have to worry about any Diamond Dogs either, Discord's magic had made them so tiny, they hardly seemed worth caring about.
"It looks like I need some more emeralds. I love emeralds. They're so sparkly and shiny..." Rarity noticed, picking up one of the bigger gems.
The gems light was a bright green and it shone in her eyes. She smiled.
"Ooh, perhaps I can get some pearls and diamonds too! Can't have too many of those!!" Rarity continued, still talking to herself.
She grinned as she walked off over towards Tom, her huge shiny diamond, which was actually a boulder.
She rubbed it and smiled, she felt like this diamond was the best gem she ever found.
She laughed and trotted towards her little cart she used to collect gems. She used her magic to pull the cart with her out the door and into the night, which was probably only going to last for a while.
The ground was weird now, but Rarity could find so many more precious stones underneath it. The ground was bright pink and it had an odd checkered pattern on it, like a chessboard.
Rarity's horn started to glow and she giggled wildly, and her coat and mane turned a darker gray while she did so. Not that she noticed.
"Ooh, this looks like an excellent spot!" Rarity said as she began to dig.
The ground came away easily and she laughed maniacally as she looked upon her find. There were so many shimmering gems, she could hardly believe it.
She grinned as she put all of the gems into her cart and smiled as she continued dowsing. The only problem going at this speed was that at this rate, her house would probably be full of gems and pearls. Not that she minded.
Fluttershy snickered as she watched the beavers chop down a tree. The beavers were working much faster than before. Which was good.
"Good job, now how about some of those pesky dams over there? I think Sweet-Apple Acres looks much better flooded."
Fluttershy giggled as the beavers slapped their tails in agreement.
"Alright then... It's over there." Fluttershy instructed. Pointing at said dam.
The beavers eyes glowed a bright red and she laughed as she watched them chew up the last dam that held the reservoir's water storage. She giggled as the last of the wood broke up and the water gushed over the dam.
"Good little beavers!!" Fluttershy exclaimed and the beavers began to chatter wildly as the water streamed into the orchard.
"Who's up for a swim?" She asked jokingly.
Pinkie sighed as she pulled a strand of her mane. She was so bored, she had no idea what to do. All of her 'friends' were gone so she didn't have to worry about them.
Still, it was boring with nothing to do. She thought as she flipped the strand back into place. Her mane and tail was as straight as it ever had been in her whole life, and she wondered why. Why is this time different? She sighed as she tried, and failed, to figure it out.
"Well, sitting around doing nothing won't do me any good." Pinkie said as she climbed off her bed.
She smiled to herself as she looked into her mirror, her normally bright pink color was now an ugly grayer pink and her mane and tail were darker pink too.
"I kind of like this new me." Pinkie said to herself as she smiled a little into the mirror.
Her smile dimmed as she thought about all the times that her friends had laughed at her, she frowned deeply and turned away from the mirror.
Her mind was wandering again, this always happened when she was depressed. The room seemed darker somehow and Pinkie sighed sadly.
Did her friends hate her now? Did they always? She wasn't sure. The pain of those thoughts made her start to cry and she put her head into her forearms on the floor and began to sob.
Twilight, Spike and the guards entered the castle. A forlorn feeling was sweeping over them both as they entered the dimly lit foyer.
Princess Luna greeted them in the middle of the room with a stormy glare and Twilight gulped. She felt really scared, she had never seen Luna this angry before.
"Greetings, Twilight. I assume you know why you're here?" Luna said, still frowning at her.
Twilight looked up at the Princess. She looked different somehow, her once beautiful dark-blue mane was now dull and gray. The stars in her mane had vanished and ugly black spots had appeared in their place.
Twilight looked down hastily, she didn't want to offend Luna by starring.
"Y-yes, you're highness. I think I know why I'm here." Twilight answered glumly.
Twilight knew she was probably going to get into trouble, major trouble. But she didn't care about that too much, she was to sad right now.
"Do you have any idea what you've done!?" Luna shouted at Twilight, who flinched in surprise.
Luna didn't speak to Twilight all that much, let alone yell at her like this. But then again, Twilight knew she probably deserved it.
"Yes, Princess... I know what I did." Twilight replied slowly.
Luna gave Twilight a surprised and angry look, "Oh, you do?" She replied.
Twilight nodded sadly and looked up at Luna. Luna gasped, her eyes that were usually so full of life and laughter, were almost completely blank. Luna starred back at Twilight, waiting for her answer.
"I'm here because I'm in trouble, right?" Twilight asked sadly hanging her head down.
Luna glared at Twilight, it was like she didn't even care anymore.
"Well, you don't seem to care that my sister is probably dying as we speak!" Luna replied sadly.
Spike gave Luna a curious look. "Can alicorns even die?" He asked.
Luna sighed. "I'm not sure, but she's very weak..." She replied.
Spike looked at Luna's worried expression and then to Twilight's depressed, hopeless one. He sighed and shifted his feet, he had no idea what to do. It was annoying.
"So, what are we supposed to do?" Spike asked, clearing the awkward silence.
Luna's ears perked up and she smiled a tiny smile. It seemed somepony still cared. Even if that pony was a dragon.
"Well... Maybe if Twilight doesn't give up on her friends?-" Luna began, but she was cut of by Twilight stomping her hoof.
"No! I won't do it!!" Twilight cried, she glared at Luna, who looked back at her with a surprised expression.
"My friends all abandoned me! Why would I ask them for help? I don't need them anymore!!" Twilight continued.
She kept glaring at Luna and she shook her head.
"Why, Twilight?! I'm surprised at you! You're acting foalish." Luna replied.
She used the nagging tone her sister used when she was in trouble as a little filly. It didn't seem to work.
"Oh, come on!! Discord's won, why can't you see that!?" Twilight replied furiously.
She glared at Luna with so much anger in her eyes that the Princess flinched backwards in fear.
"Well... I'm sorry to have to say this, but I suppose I have to start up plan B." Luna replied, looking down sadly.
Twilight was confused, what in Equestria was plan B?
Plan B
View Online
Twilight gave Luna a curious look, she had no idea what plan B could be.
Luna sighed and shook her head. She took a step closer to Twilight who blinked in surprise and backed away.
Luna's horn began to glow a bright blue color and Twilight gasped as she shot her with her magic. She tried to get out of the way in time, but she didn't.
A spell hit her with all its force. It wasn't a painful spell, which was what she was expecting. It was a spell that made her feel different somehow, she couldn't put her hoof on it, but she felt happier somehow.
Twilight's eyes sparked as the spell reached her mind. It showed her all of the lessons she had made with her friends. She smiled and the light continued to glow.
Discord frowned as he silently slithered his way through the shadows of the Canterlot Castle's garden. He had followed Twilight's balloon here and he was not happy about it.
He grumbled to himself as he passed by another pair of guards. The castle's security had increased since he had began his new rule, and this was the third group he had to sneak by.
It was getting tiresome.
He sighed with relief as he finally got past them. The castle was looming over him now and he smiled as he got closer to the door.
The castle was somehow unaffected by Discord's magic, but he figured it was because of Celestia and Luna's combined powers. It would make sense to have a very strong protection spell on the castle.
"But I can still get in, really Celestia, you could have tried a bit harder." He murmured to himself as he sneaked further into the castle.
He hadn't been here in quite sometime, and the layout was a little confusing. He sighed as he tried to remember where the throne room was.
He grinned as he found it. The room wasn't even empty. It held Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle, with her little dragon friend too.
Oh this is just perfect! Discord thought to himself as he concealed himself once more.
He smiled evilly as he neared Twilight. She looked diffrent, she looked grayer somehow. He didn't know why, but he figured it must be because she was depressed or something.
The idea made him happy. Very happy.
His smile grew as he neared Twilight. She was still surrounded by the spell and Discord took great care not to touch any of the sparking blue light, it could be painful.
He carefully grabbed the floating Twilight by her shoulders and picked her up higher off the ground. Luna looked at this in confusion, she had no idea Discord was the one behind it all.
"What is going on here?" Luna asked herself quietly.
She didn't know her spell could lift Twilight up that high, and Twilight was still being lifted. She looked on in horror as one of Twilight's legs moved by itself and she began to dance.
Discord snickered as he made Twilight do the 'can-can'. He was getting carried away, but this was actually very fun. He smiled to himself as he watched Luna's horrified look, and he laughed even harder when he saw Spike's look of confusion.
He had forgotten to be quiet while he was doing this. He shut up as Luna raised an brow and looked at the space curiously.
"Who's there!? Show yourself you coward!" Luna threatened.
Discord gulped silently. He had to act fast, he was losing time.
He smiled as he picked Twilight up even higher than she already was and threw her. He threw her all the way towards the comer of the room and she landed with a hard thump.
"Twilight!!" Luna screamed.
Discord smiled evilly as she checked Twilight's pulse, she looked rather panicked.
"Well well, Luna a bit in over our head are we?" Discord asked showing himself finally.
Luna gasped and Twilight's eyes slowly opened. Discord was standing over Luna, he towered over the Princess and she stepped backwards.
Luna was actually scared, it had been a long time since she had seen Discord this powerful and he was huge. It was only an illusion though and he quickly changed back to normal. But he still glowered at her.
"Discord! I should have known it was you!" She exclaimed furious with herself for thinking otherwise.
Discord laughed heartily and smiled at Luna. His smile was not a genuine one, it was one full of sarcasm and Luna frowned deeper.
"Well, hello Luna dear. Long time no see... You're looking rather, gray." Discord replied causally.
Luna huffed and deepened her glare, if that was possible, at him. "You of all creatures should know why I am like I am now, Discord. Your magic has done this!" Luna replied hotly.
Discord chortled and frowned slightly.
"Well, that's a shame. I've always loved you're beautiful mane, Princess." He replied.
He actually meant this complement, Luna's mane now was gray and splotchy. It was ugly and awful to look at.
"Do not give me your pity, Discord! I want you to stop all of this nonsense right now!" Luna said, still angry with him.
He didn't blame her for being angry, he had changed everything about her and her sister's beloved Equestria, but he had no reason to change any of it. He liked things much better this way.
He laughed and smiled again. "Oh, I'm afraid I can't do that, your highness." He replied.
Luna's eyes widened and she snorted. "Why not?" She asked.
What, she really has no idea? Discord thought surprised with Luna's absentmindedness.
"Luna dear, I control chaos!! I cannot take it back, even if I tried." He lied.
Luna bought it though, her eyes widened and they became bleary with tears. She cried out in anguish at him.
"B-But if you do not, dear sister will...She will..." Luna couldn't finish her sentence because she had begun to cry.
Discord clucked his tongue on top of his mouth and sighed sadly, he knew what she meant.
Luna looked at him with surprise. "You mean you don't care!?" She said sadly.
Discord smiled an evil grin and he shrugged. "Why would I?" He asked and Luna starred still in shock.
"Celestia and I have been enemies for centuries. It would not be a shame for me to see her go. In fact, I'm surprised you're not already clamoring for the crown yourself Luna." He replied making his voice hypnotic and soothing.
Luna gasped at this, he didn't even care in the least bit if Celestia died? What a horrible creature!! But what he was saying to her now struck a cord, why should she care so much about her sister.
They had both lived for a very long time and Luna knew Celestia would like to see her sister on the throne if she did indeed die, but she felt a little bad for admitting it to herself.
"N-no! Discord, your magic will not work on me!! I am the Princess of the Night! I am supposed to be second in command next to my sister, who shall live because you will not!" Luna cried.
Discord tried to continue his hypnotic spell, but it didn't work. Luna was overcoming his power and he grunted in surprise as the furious alicorn was now standing over him, glaring.
"H-how!? How could you of all ponies have possibly defeated my spell of chaos!?" He cried out, still trying.
His concentration was shattered as Luna stomped on his tail. He yelped out and he whipped it back behind him. Luna snickered and continued to harm him, he cried out in pain as she had stepped on his paw, it was more sensitive than his claw she had realized.
"Do you really want to know the reason why I can withstand you!?" Luna demanded.
Discord nodded meekly and starred at her imposing form with big eyes.
"I have spent a thousand years on the moon. A thousand years, Discord!! It is a long time to be without ones self, without your usual self. I wasn't myself back then, I was like you... Evil and corrupt. I believed myself to be more powerful than my sister, but I was wrong and she banished me..."
Discord whimpered out something Luna didn't hear and she continued on.
"So, I was banished.. But through that time I was still a little corrupted. I hated my sister for what she did to me, I thought she had stopped loving me. I was wrong, I was proven wrong when Twilight and her friends reformed me. I thought Celestia would have punished me further so I was hesitant to show my true self at first, but she didn't.
She told me later on that my banishment was punishment enough and that she still loved me. That love in my heart for my sister is why I can resist you!" She was crying as she said this.
Her memories had come back to her in a flood and she was becoming overwhelmed with guilt and love all at the same time, it was rather confusing.
Luna's glare was leaving her now and Discord was white in the face with shock. He had no idea this was how she really felt and it certainly did surprise him, but what surprised him even more was Twilight Sparkle.
She was back and she had heard every single word that Luna had said.
"Oh, Princess!! It's alright now you don't have to cry!" Twilight exclaimed as she rushed over to Luna.
Luna was on the marble ground sobbing and she looked up in surprise and saw Twilight standing beside her, looking brighter than she had before.
"Twilight!! You're alright!!" Luna exclaimed, shocked and a little confused.
Twilight grinned at her and nuzzled her close, she had felt so lost before but Luna's words had awoken the power of love and friendship that was still inside her heart.
Luna gasped with joy and hugged Twilight close.
Twilight giggled and looked at Luna. "Those words... They were so moving, Princess!" She said, complementing the sad Princess.
Luna sighed and shook her head. "It does not matter now, Twilight Sparkle." She replied.
Twilight looked at her she was very confused. "Why not?" She asked.
Luna showed Twilight the place where Discord was before. "Because, Discord has vanished."
Twilight gasped and Luna frowned sadly.
The Return of The Elements of Harmony
Twilight healed Spike of his discorded state right after realizing Discord had escaped. Spike shook his head and looked at Twilight with surprise. He looked like somepony waking up from a bad dream.
"W-What happened, Twilight?" Spike asked deliriously.
It seemed he had no recollection of himself before his healing as Twilight told him what had happened with Luna. She herself couldn't remember what happened while she was in Discord's control.
"Twilight, how come Discord escaped? Doesn't he want to rule Equestria? Why didn't he just stay and get rid of Luna while he had the chance?" Spike asked.
Twilight thought about this for a while, it was a valid point. Why would Discord suddenly leave when he had two of the most powerful ponies in Equestria right in his grasp.
"Maybe he was afraid...Luna did look really angry." Twilight said, shuddering as she remembered.
Spike tilted his head. "She did?" He asked.
Twilight laughed, she guessed he didn't see her furious look at Discord, or hadn't cared at the time. Twilight smiled at Spike's frown and hugged him close.
"I'm so glad you're back, Spike." Twilight said.
Spike laughed happily as he hugged Twilight back, she was alright!
Twilight and Spike made their way to Sugar-Cube Corner in a rush. They had to get rid of Discord, and the only way to do that was to get their friends back one way or the other.
Twilight had hoped Pinkie Pie would be the easiest, but getting closer to the bakery she wasn't too sure of this anymore. Her doubts were confirmed when she opened the door and a gray looking Mrs. Cake opened the door.
"What do you two want!?" Mrs.Cake demanded as Twilight and Spike strode in.
"Um.. Well we're looking for Pinkie Pie." Twilight replied.
She had no idea of what discorded Mrs.Cake was like so she decided to tread carefully.
"She's upstairs... Don't see why you need that useless girl though. She hasn't stopped cryin' since this whole thing started." She replied angrily.
Twilight blinked in surprise. She had no idea that Mrs.Cake could be so mean, but then again she was probably in control of Discord so Twilight didn't take her too seriously.
"Thanks! I'll just uh, go upstairs then!" Twilight replied.
Winking at Spike she and him rushed up the stairs towards Pinkie's room.
Pinkie was feeling so sad now. Her anger had decreased and was now a very deep depression. She was on her bed and she was crying when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
And a voice, a very familiar voice. Her ears perked when her name was called.
"Pinkie!! It's me, Twilight! I'm here to help you!!" Twilight called, hoping Pinkie would open the door.
Pinkie sighed and rolled over, she was not falling for this again. Her mind couldn't control her anymore. She was better than that. The Twilight she knew and loved was gone and all her other friends too.
"Go away!! I don't listen to you anymore!" Pinkie cried.
She put her hooves on top of her head, like she was trying to muffle a sound. She thought the voices were inside of her head, but they weren't this time.
"Pinkie.. ugh this is ridiculous!" Twilight exclaimed.
She sighed and rolled her eyes and Spike looked worriedly at her. "What if she doesn't come out?" He asked.
Twilight had a plan for this outcome. She bucked the door with all her might and it slammed open. Pinkie was on the bed and she looked at Twilight with awe. She really was there, and she looked diffrent, she looked better!
Pinkie's smile was small at first but it grew larger as Twilight hit her with her new and improved memory spell. This gave Pinkie all of her old memories, everything she had done with her friends came flooding back to her and she beamed as all her color came back and her mane poofed up again.
"Oh, thank Celestia!!! I was soooo tired of being all gray and sad all the time!!" Pinkie exclaimed as she hugged Twilight.
Twilight's eyes widened and she sighed, Pinkie was only being Pinkie after all.
"Well, I'm glad you're back Pinkie! But we have to help the others too!" Twilight replied.
Pinkie smiled brightly and nodded.
She Twilight and Spike walked out of her bedroom, Pinkie was leading and she was hopping.
Twilight was so glad she was back to normal.
AppleJack was next on Twilight's list. She seemed pretty easy to deal with, what with Pinkie's logic to back her up. But she was wrong. A.J. was lying constantly and it was really annoying.
Twilight gritted her teeth as AppleJack continued on with another dumb lie.
"Did y'all know pigs can fly!? Ah've seen it myself." She exclaimed and Pinkie groaned.
"Make it stop!!" She cried.
Twilight laughed and A.J scowled at her. "What are yeh doin' here, Twilight? Ah thought Discord had made you his minion." She asked.
Twilight smiled confidently.
"I broke his spell and I'm gonna do the same for you AppleJack. Pinkie get her." Twilight said nodding to Pinkie who smiled brightly.
Pinkie laughed as she grabbed a piece of rope and began to twirl it like a lasso. AppleJack saw this and her eyes widened.
"Oh no you 'aint!" She shouted.
She tried to get away, but Pinkie was too fast for her and she caught her quickly. AppleJack grunted as her haunches hit the floor. She struggled against the tight knots.
Twilight walked over to her cautiously, she had no idea if this spell would work again but it was worth a try. She closed her eyes and concentrated on AppleJack's forehead. Her horn began to glow and she cast the spell.
It seemed to have worked. AppleJack had stopped struggling and was now smiling a little smile just like Pinkie had done before her, but hers didn't grow quite as much as she regained her right colors and her memories.
"What in Equestria is goin' on here, Twi?" She asked as she got up.
Twilight laughed joyfully and gave A.J a tight hug, surprised A.J hugged her right back.
"Seriously though, what's up?" She asked again.
Twilight giggled and she along with Pinkie told her all she needed to know as the gang headed out to Fluttershy's cottage, for Fluttershy was going to be a lot harder to get back to normal Twilight thought.
Fluttershy was nowhere to be seen. Her cottage looked empty and Twilight sighed.
"Are yeah sure she's here, Twilight?" AppleJack asked for the second time.
Twilight sighed with annoyance. "Yes, I'm sure. She wouldn't go too far away from her cottage." Twilight replied.
But the truth was, she wasn't so sure. Fluttershy she knew, but Discorded Fluttershy? That was a whole other playing field and she was a little worried.
Spike noticed this and smiled at her encouragingly. Twilight smiled back, she was so grateful for Spike. She wondered if he knew how much she cared.
"Don't worry Twilight, you can do it!!" Spike said, pumping his fist in the air.
Both Pinkie and AppleJack nodded at her and Twilight sucked in a breath as she opened the door of Fluttershy's cottage nervously.
The room was pitch black and there wasn't any sound. Twilight's heart was beating a mile a minute as she walked into the dark living room.
She used her magic to make an orb of light glow on the tip of her horn and she gasped as she saw Fluttershy right in front of her. She had an evil smirk on her face and she laughed.
"BOO!!" Fluttershy cried.
Twilight screamed and Pinkie and AppleJack heard it from outside of the cottage and came rushing in to aid their friend. Pinkie shielded her with her body and AppleJack did little circles around the two of them.
"Ooh, I see you brought our friends. Gee, did you need a good laugh, Twilight?'' Fluttershy asked with a pointed look at Pinkie.
"Hey!! That's not very nice!" Pinkie shouted.
Twilight stared at Fluttershy and she starred back at her. "Darn it, Fluttershy! Come back to me!" Twilight snapped.
Fluttershy just laughed. "Do you really think you can beat me at staring!? I'm the world champ!" She replied.
AppleJack whistled. "Ah think that sounds an awful lot like a challenge." She exclaimed.
Twilight gulped. A starring contest!? What had she gotten herself into!?
The contest had lasted for about an hour or so. Twilight was surprised at how long she held out, she guessed her reading so many books helped.
She had finally gotten Fluttershy to hold still and, with the help of Pinkie holding her down she cast the spell on her.
It worked almost instantaneously and Fluttershy gasped and flew into the air, making Pinkie and Twilight fall over backwards from the force.
"Ooh!!! Goodness, what happened!? Is everypony okay!?" She asked, her voice very high.
Twilight laughed with Pinkie as she flapped down to her friends. They all got into a group hug and walked out of the cottage. Spike was there waiting for them.
"Good job ,Twilight! I knew you could do it!!" Spike said when he noticed Fluttershy.
Twilight giggled as she watched Fluttershy give Spike a huge hug that squished the small dragon.
"Thanks, Spike but it wasn't just me. Everypony helped." She replied.
Spike gasped for air and nodded as Fluttershy guiltily let him go. She smiled at Twilight and walked beside her.
"Who are we gonna help next?" She asked timidly.
Twilight sighed, this pony might be a little more challenging.
"Rarity of course." She replied as they walked.
Fluttershy squeaked.
Rarity and Sweetie Belle were arguing as the group tried to get into the Boutique. The door was stuck and it took all of them pushing on the front door to make it open just slightly.
Twilight's eyes widened in horror and in awe. The place was almost full of gemstones. It looked like there was hardly any room left to stand in the place.
Every single type of gem was scattered throughout the room and Rarity and Sweetie Belle were standing in the middle of it.
"I don't care if you need your bedroom for sleeping!! I need it for my gems!!" Rarity complained.
Sweetie groaned and stomped her hoof, sending gems flying.
"Oh come on!! Don't you see you have pretty much filled all of the rooms here!? It's like we're swimming in them!" She replied angrily.
"Well I digress. I need that room! This place isn't big enough!" Rarity demanded rather lamely.
Sweetie just rolled her eyes. She brightened a little when she heard the door creak. She tried to wade through all the gems to get to it and Rarity followed, she wasn't through with her yet.
"I also need a room for Tom! I don't want you and your little friends dirty hooves all over him! He's too valuable just to be left in the middle of a room!!'' Rarity cried.
Sweetie groaned and she finally got to the door.
"You do realize Tom's a boulder, right Rare?" AppleJack said as Sweetie opened the door.
Sweetie Belle laughed as she looked at Rarity's face as she opened the door. Her friends were all there and Rarity couldn't stand the sight of them, they had all abandoned her. But she didn't need them anymore. She had her gems, her precious precious gems...
"HELLO!! Earth pony to Rarity!!'' Pinkie cried.
She waved a hoof in front of Rarity's face and Rarity sighed as she saw her. She was the most annoying of the bunch, she didn't need her right now.
She was already stressed out.
"Girls, you came to help me move my gems!! How sweet... but nopony takes any of 'em!! They're all mine I say!! MINE!!" Rarity exclaimed, her eye twitching at the end of her rant.
Pinkie flinched back and her ears drooped and she giggled nervously as Twilight stepped forward.
"Alright, Rarity... Are we gonna do this the easy way or the hard way?" She asked.
Rarity glared at Twilight for a while, she had no idea what she was going on about but she didn't really care. She sighed and picked up a gemstone with her magic and started to rub it gently, making it shine.
"Twilight, darling I really do have no idea what you're talking about.'' She replied.
"But if you ever would be so kind and could-" Rarity was cut off as Twilight hit her with a spell.
It wasn't a painful spell, it was sort of nice. Her body began to glow and change back into its original white and she regained her memories.
"Oh my, Celestia!! How did all of these gems get here!?" Rarity asked incredulously.
The girls all laughed and hugged her close. Her sister was included in this hug and she hugged her hardest of all.
"Oh, Sweetie I'm so sorry! Let's promise never to speak of this again!" She said
.
Sweetie Belle laughed and hugged her sister. Her coloring was also coming back.
"It's okay, Rarity!" She replied.
The girls and Spike all laughed for a while before Twilight realized who was left, she would most definitly be the most difficult to help.
Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow was in Cloudsdale napping, well it wasn't exactly Cloudsdale. It was a cloud she thought was Cloudsdale. But she had successfully saved her Pegasi brethren and she had taken an exhausted nap afterwords, she deserved it for being so awesome.
She was right in the middle of an awesome Daring Do dream, starring herself as Daring of course; when she was rudely woken up by a yell.
Huh, that sounds like Twilight... I thought she had given up. She thought.
Her thoughts were confirmed when she opened up her eyes and saw all of her friends looking up at her. Twilight was smiling at her.
"Oh, hey guys!" She said waving a forearm and turning around nonchalantly.
Twilight's smile grew bigger. "Rainbow! Can you come down!? We need your help!" Twilight called.
Rainbow stiffened and turned around. "What for?" She asked.
Twilight sighed and rolled her eyes. "Uh, we need your element of harmony to help save Ponyville, remember?'' Twilight said.
She was trying to invoke memories of what had happened with Discord, but it seemed not to work. Rainbow just laughed and smiled.
"Why would I help you guys!?" She said. "I'm staying here in Cloudsdale, where everything's awesome!!"
Rarity rolled her eyes. "How can she think that tiny cloud is Cloudsdale?" She asked.
AppleJack snickered. "The same way Discord got ya to believe that big ol' rock was a diamond!" She replied with a smirk.
Rarity's eyes widened. "I thought we promised never to speak of that again!!" She replied with a huff.
AppleJack laughed and Pinkie smiled. Fluttershy looked at Twilight with concern.
"How are we going to get her down, Twilight?" She asked softly.
Twilight thought about this for a moment, there was only one possible way. If Rainbow would come down to them... They would have to go up to her. Wouldn't they?
Twilight's eyes sparked as she got an idea. The girls looked at her with a curious expression.
"Girls, I know how to get Rainbow back!" She exclaimed.
Twilight's plan was simple, really. They had all gotten into an air balloon and they were now in the sky. Rainbow was still on the cloud but she noticed them and took off right when they got near her, but Twilight was prepared for this.
"AppleJack! Throw a rope!!" She called.
AppleJack nodded and threw a rope out like a lasso, she tried to catch the speeding Rainbow but she missed as she dogdged quite easily.
"That's the best you could do!?" Rainbow shouted from behind her.
AppleJack gritted her teeth and tried again. This time though her rope was attached to Pinkie's leg and Pinkie was right beside Rarity.
They both got caught up in the rope and the two mares squealed.
"Pinkie-ee!! I thought you secured the ropes!" Rarity squealed dangling from the basket beside Pinkie.
Pinkie giggled awkwardly. "Heh, oops." She replied with a sheepish look.
"That was the second last rope, there's only one more left, Twi!!" AppleJack called over the wind.
"Well, we'll have to make it count!! Fluttershy, you have to fly faster!!!" Twilight demanded.
"Yes Fluttershy dear, you need to fly faster!!" Rarity called from the basket.
Poor Fluttershy was already flying the fastest she had in years and she squeaked when Twilight yelled this.
"I-I c-can't." She replied with a squeak.
Twilight groaned. "If you don't then Discord will win again!!" Twilight yelled.
This sparked something in Fluttershy and she growled, chewing on the rope.
"That. Big. Fat. MEANIE!!!" She yelled as she kicked up a burst of sudden speed.
Twilight yelped in surprise as the basket lurched forward. She smiled and cheered along with the others as Fluttershy continued her pace.
"Woohoo!! That's our girl!" AppleJack hollered.
Twilight laughed happily as they closed in on Rainbow. They were almost close enough.... "NOW APPLEJACK!!" Twilight screeched.
AppleJack complied and threw the lasso. It landed around Rainbow's neck and Twilight fist pumped as the she came to a stop.
"Alright girls, we got her!" AppleJack said happily as the balloon came to a stop.
Twilight smiled as the balloon began to descend. Maybe they'd actually have a chance.
Discord muttered to himself as he walked back and forth in front of his throne. Things had taken a surprisingly bad turn, and right when things were going so well. He had no idea how, but somehow Luna had managed to save Twilight.
It was infuriating.
"I mean come on!! How could anypony believe that after all this time... Luna has got not one last bit of hatred left for her sister. She said so herself a thousand years is a long time.'' He said angrily stomping about.
He sighed and plopped on his chair. He snapped his fingers and a glass appeared.
Well if I am going to be defeated, might as well do it with some class. He thought as he poured chocolate milk out of the cotton candy cloud.
"There you are Discord!" Twilight called.
Discord spit the chocolate milk out of his mouth and stared. Twilight and all of her friends were standing about three feet away from him and they all were back to normal.
Twilight's spell had worked on Rainbow and she smiled brightly at him.
"Surprised to see me, Discord?" She asked with a grin.
Discord sputtered and gulped. The ponies were all glaring at him, they all had their respective Elements on.
"We're not afraid of you anymore Discord!" AppleJack yelled out.
The girls all nodded and Twilight smiled.
"Well, well, well... Congratulations, Twilight.'' Discord said, clapping his hands on every 'well.'
Twilight scoffed. Discord smiled evilly.
"I'm sure you know of the state your Princess is in right now, Twilight." He said.
Twilight nodded sadly and the girls gave her questioning looks.
"What's wrong with the Princess, Twilight?" Rainbow asked.
Twilight shivered nervously and Discord laughed out loud.
"You mean you haven't told them!? You haven't told them that the Princess is dying because of you!? Wow, Twilight some friend you are. I mean really." Discord jeered.
Twilight squeaked as her friends gave her a look. It wasn't an angry or mean look, it was more of a disappointed look.
"W-well.. I was gonna tell you guys but.'' Twilight was cut off by AppleJack who smiled at her.
"It don't matter now, Twilight. 'Cause we're gonna whop Discord and give 'em a one-two!" AppleJack exclaimed, making Twilight smile in relief.
"Yeah!! Discord's goin' down!!" Pinkie replied, copying AppleJack.
Twilight and Rarity laughed and Rainbow smirked.
Discord's eyes almost fell out of his head, why weren't they fighting? Didn't they even care that their Princess was dying!?
Twilight saw Discords look of disbelief and she smiled she had got him surprised, this was what she needed. She grinned as her friends all came around her, getting in position.
"Why? Why are you all such great friends even though Twilight has done all this wrong?" Discord asked, still in shock.
Twilight smiled. "Because, Discord. We're friends for life and they know I've done wrong.. but I'm about to correct this wrong. That is why my friends still are my friends." Twilight replied.
Her friends all nodded and Twilight's eyes welled up with tears. She was just so thankful for them all.
Discord scowled and sighed, clearly annoyed. "Oh, well get on with it then."
He knew this couldn't possibly work.
His eyed Twilight suspiciously as her eyes became bright, white orbs and she began to float in the air. Discord watched, now amazed as the five friends surrounding Twilight began to do the same thing.
"You know what I've learned Discord?" Twilight said, her eyes were still glowing.
Discord shuddered and shook his head, he wondered briefly if Twilight could see him still. He did this anyways.
"I have learned that there is no doubt that friendship is worth fighting for, no matter how bad or bleak things may seem it is your true friends that will always be there for you. You're friends will always be there no matter what!" She exclaimed.
Discord howled out as Twilight and her friends zapped him with a rainbow that came from their elements. The rainbow collided with Discord and he continued to scream in pain as he turned to stone. He was completely solid when the ponies were though.
Discord's magic had vanished along with him, a net of bright light white had appeared along with the rainbow and it had covered Ponyville, the light had changed everything back to normal.
Twilight smiled as her hooves hit the ground and her friends all came up to her and hugged her tightly.
"You did it Twilight!! You really did it!" Fluttershy exclaimed with a smile.
Twilight smiled back and hugged her. "No, we all did it girls... All of us together as friends." She replied.
Rainbow broke the hug off suddenly. "Hey, what about the Princess?" She asked.
Twilight gulped she hadn't thought of that.
She shuddered of the trouble she was bound to be in and she sighed as she walked with her friends towards her library.
"I'm not sure, Rainbow. I hope she is okay."
Celestia awoke with a gasp and Luna was standing over her, smiling.
"Oh thank goodness you're alright!" Luna exclaimed nuzzling her.
Celestia smiled as she got up and nuzzled her back. "How long was I asleep?'' She asked worriedly.
Luna thought about that, Discord hadn't ruled for too long, but it was long enough for her to lose track of the time. Worring about 'Tia didn't help much either.
"I think about a week, but I'm not sure." She replied.
Celestia gasped and started to pace. "A WEEK!? Where was my faithful student during all of this!? Why wasn't she doing something about it? About Discord?" Celestia replied angrily.
Luna chuckled nervously, this was going to be hard to explain.
"Yes, well about that. Sister, Twilight and her friends all got corrupted by Discord's magic, so they couldn't be counted on to save Equestria. Twilight had to be snapped out of it by me. I almost used Plan B." She explained.
Plan B had failed. That was what the reforming spell was for, but thankfully Luna didn't have to use it on Twilight. She and Celestia only used it in extreme emergencies.
"What!? You almost used the reforming spell!? What were you thinking?" Celestia replied.
The reforming spell was not used often, and it was very powerful and advanced magic that only the two sisters could properly perform together. She was only concerned about Luna's safety and she said so.
Luna smiled in return to this. "But I didn't use it, dear sister. I didn't have to. Twilight heard my little speech about you and how much I loved you and that snapped her out of it." Luna replied
Celestia's eyes widened and she walked over to her sister and hugged her close. "You don't hate me still, do you Luna?" She asked softly.
Luna thought about how to answer this. While it was true that sometimes the memories of what her sister did angered and bothered her, she knew that she did what she did back then for a reason. The ponies of Equestria had to have sunlight, or else they would all have starved and it would've been her fault.
"Well, no I don't still hate you. I don't think I really ever did hate you precisely, I just hated the fact that everypony was afraid of us." Luna replied.
Celestia's smile fell and she looked at her sister with tears in her eyes.
"Luna. I promise you, nopony will have any reason to fear you now. You have grown up so much. I'm very proud of you, sister." She replied as she came in for another hug.
Luna wept silently as she hugged her sister back for a long time.
Twilight and Rainbow Dash were both pacing and their friends were following them with their eyes. Pinkie made a gulping noise and she cried out in a yelp.
"Would you guys stop!? You're making me dizzy!!" She said.
Twilight and Rainbow both did stop, at the same time. This made them collide into each other and they fell on their haunches with a grunt.
"O-ouch." Twilight exclaimed, rubbing her now sore bottom.
Rainbow got up and sighed, she was used to crashing. "When's the Princess gonna come? Spike said he'd sent that letter like thirty minutes ago!" She complained.
Twilight groaned and looked at the clock. It had actually been an hour, they were all so nervous that time didn't seem to matter.
"Well, hopefully she'll be here soon." Twilight replied with a sigh.
She was actually terrified.
Celestia appeared in a sudden flash of light. It had been another full hour before she had appeared and Twilight and her friends jumped in surprise.
"Oh! Princess, you're alright!!" Twilight squealed.
Celestia smiled a little smile at Twilight as she ran to her and gave her a nuzzle, she returned the nuzzle and she sighed.
"Yes, Twilight. I am alright." She replied.
Twilight sighed out in relief, she had been so worried that she almost felt sick. She grinned as Celestia's smile grew as she took in the sight of Twilight and her friends all standing around her.
"Twilight, I am very proud of you." She exclaimed.
Twilight's eyes widened and she beamed at Celestia. "You are?" She asked.
"Of course I am, Twilight. Why wouldn't I be?" Celestia replied curiously.
Twilight shifted uncomfortably and sighed after a while. "Well, I gave up. Discord won and he took away our friendship and we all left Equestria in his hands... and you were-you almost...." Twilight couldn't continue for she had begun to cry.
Celestia thought about this and gave Twilight a sad smile. "Yes, you did. But I'm not proud of you for that. I'm proud of you because even with all of your challenges with Discord and thinking that your friends had given up on you, you stood up for your friend. Princess Luna called inside of you a spark and that spark made you remember friendship. I am proud of you for that." Celestia replied.
Twilight gushed as the Princess walked over to her and gave her a tight hug. Twilight was still crying, but she was crying tears of joy now as all of her friends, including Spike, surrounded her in a giant group hug.
