Quiet hoof steps sounded down a hallway. Five ponies walked together, casting nervous glances at each other. After what seemed like forever, the ponies reached a door at the end of the corridor. In the room, four other ponies stood, talking amongst each other. One of them looked up and smiled at the sight of the ponies.

"Girls! You're here!" the pony said.

"Twilight! It's been so long!" A yellow Pegasus said happily.

A pink earth pony bounced over and hugged Twilight. "Remember me Twilight? It's me Pinkie Pie! Ahhh! You haven't forgotten us have you?"

The purple alicorn chuckled. "Of course I remember you guys. I've only been gone for a few weeks."

"So, why are we here again?" A cyan Pegasus asked.

"Well... You see..."

Twilight was interrupted by Princess Celestia. "You see, while I was researching on the elements of harmony, I found something interesting. In one of my books, it said it was destined that the elements of harmony will be passed down to another generation."

"Yes, its a prophecy" Princess Luna added.

"A prophecy?" A white unicorn echoed in surprise.

"So..... Why are we here? " The Pegasus asked again.

"Well you ARE the elements of harmony, are you not?" Princess Cadence replied in a gentle tone.

"That's right, Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. "Your the element of loyalty, Apple Jack is the element of honesty, Pinkie Pie laughter, Rarity generosity, Fluttershy kindness, and I'm magic"

"Ya, we already knew that Twi, but I think what Rainbow here means is what does the prophecy have to do with us?" Apple Jack said.

Twilight blinked. "Ohhhhhh...." Then she looked up at Celestia for an explanation.

The white alicorn nodded to the other two princesses. "Well, you being the elements of harmony, we believe that the next generation of elements..... will be ponies that are kin to you."

"Like who?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Like my sisters?"

Cadence looked at the other princesses. "Well, we don't know anymore of the prophecy. WE barely understand it." It became silent.

"Well then" Twilight broke the silence. "I guess only time will tell..."

Luna nodded. "Thank you girls. You are dismissed" The 5 mares turned and walked out of the room. "But Princess Twilight, a few more words with you."

The purple alicorn sat down, ready to listen.

"Do you remember what we told you?" Celestia asked in a quiet voice

Twilight nodded slowly. "Yes, but, telling them about this only for them to forget about it in the future? Shouldn't they have the right to know what the future holds? Why did we have to lie to them?"

Cadence put a hoof on Twilight's shoulder. "We know how hard this is, you being extremely close to your friends and not telling them something this important. But we assure you, it's the only way to set things right.

Twilight looked at her hooves before responding. Finally, she said, "Alright..."

Luna nodded. "We're glad you understand. You may leave now"

Rays of the morning sun drifted through the windows of the castle, and into a large room. A Pegasus who was sleeping, was awoken as the lights shined on his face. He had a dark blue coat and a purple and blue mane. He opened up his magenta eyes, and sat up. "Morning already?" He yawned and climbed out of bed. He walked over to another bed, one with a marigold unicorn with pink hair. "Dawn..... Dawn" He whispered.

The unicorn groaned. "What Dusk....?"

"Celestia raised the sun. So that means... GET UP" Dusk tackled her.

Dawn squeaked and teleportated away. "Don't do that!" She yelled.

Dusk lifted up the pillow that covered his face. "Well, now you're up!" He giggled. Dawn rolled her eyes. The two walked out of the room and went down the staircase. When they arrived into the kitchen, Dusk yelled, "We're off to school!!!!" Before they walked out the door, someone behind them said, "I think your forgetting something."

Flash, their father, held up their saddle bags. "I don't think they'll let you in without these"

"Oh right" Dawn chuckled. She used her magic to levitate the bag over to her. Her brother fluttered over to grab it. "Thanks dad!" he said.

Another pony trotted over. "Have a good day at school!" She called as the fillies ran out the door. When they left, she frowned.

"Twilight? Are you alright?" Flash asked in a concerned tone.

Twlight shook her head to clear her thoughts. "No, I'm alright." She knew she was lying. When she watched her twin fillies run out the door, a thought came to mind. She remembered something, something she had forgot about until now.

Dusk and Dawn ran into the school house. When they did, they were immediately greeted by a blue earth pony with poofy pink hair. "Hiya Dusk!" He squeaked.

"Oh, hello Cotton Candy." Dusk waved at the hyperactive filly. "Why are you so happy?"

Cotton stopped bouncing around. "I dunno!" He replied, then began bouncing around again.

"Ok class!" The teacher, Cherrilee, called out. The fillies began to sit in their seats. "Now, I'm going to take attendance, and then you can go outside, ok?"

"Ok Miss Cherrilee" the class replied.

"Cotton Candy?"

"Here!" The filly said loudly.

"Dusk and Dawn Sentry?"

"Here" the twins said at the same time.

"Jet Stream?"

"Present" A light blue pegasus with shades of blue in his mane replied.

"Sapphire?"

"Here!" A white unicorn with a dragon tail and a purple mane said.

"Applesweet?"

"Um... H-here..." A peach colored pegasus with orange hair and freckles mumbled.

"Muddy hooves?"

"Here" A dark orange earth pony with a brown mane responded.

The teacher went through the rest of the students quickly, then smiled. "Ok, that's everyone"

Dawn sat on the swing set next to her brother. Cotton sat beside him, swinging extremely high.

"Weeeeee! This is so FUN!" The pony cheered as he rocked back and forth.

Dawn could see Sapphire and Applesweet playing with dolls. She could pick up what they were saying.

"Oh hello madam Purple Pink" The half pony said in a high pitched voice.

"Um... Oh hi Miss Pretty Cloud, would you like some tea?"

"I would be delighted."

Dawn smiled. She wished she could play something. Suddenly, she heard Cotton stop swinging.

"Ugh, they're doing it again"

Dawn got up and bounded over to where a few other school ponies were gathered. She recognized Jet Stream in the middle of the crowd. He was staring angrily at Muddy Hooves, who returned the ominous look.

"Why must you always argue with me?" Jet growled. "I always tell you not to mess with my stuff, and you think you have the right to take my Wonder Bolts action figure!"

"Why shouldn't I? Y'all think you can just mess with my stuff, and then I try to make you see how it feels, and then ya say you are the innocent one!!!" Mud yelled back.

Sapphire looked up from her game. "What in Equestria is going on over there?" She thought aloud.

Apple Sweet lowered her head. "I don't know, but I want nothing to do with it." Then, she looked back up. "Wait, is that my cousin in that argument?" She stood up and ran over to the crowd, which the entire class was now there. She squeezed through and whispered, "Muddy, w-what's going on?"

The colt looked at the ground. Jet looked away. "Typical farm ponies." He murmured.

Mud stomped his hoof. "Why ya gotta be so rude Jet Stream? You don't own the playground, JERK"

Jet froze. He whipped his head back and looked at the earth pony. "What did you say?!"

"You heard me..." He snarled back.

"Jet Stream, don't...." Dusk tried to stop him. Jet flew up a foot of the ground. He pulled back his hoof, ready to smack Mud. But he was stopped by Sapphire grabbing his tail. "STOP IT!" She commanded. "Do you have to fight everyday? He's right you know, you don't own the playground."

Jet landed on the ground. "Stay out of this, Half!"

"Half?" Sapphire tilted her head in confusion.

"Your not a pony. Your part dragon. You shouldn't be in a class with ponies."

The unicorn-dragon flattened her ears. "I... I"

"That's enough" Applesweet's tiny voice sounded from the other side of the circle. "Jet Stream that was rude and uncalled for!" She gasped. "Oh... Um... I'm sorry..." She slunk back into the crowd.

"Can't we just all get along?" Cotton ran into the middle of the circle. He threw confetti everywhere. "We're all ponies no matter what we look like!"

"Cotton, I appritiate this, but" Mud was interrupted by the stubborn pegasus. "Nobody needs you here Cotton Candy... Go throw a party by yourself."

Cotton looked at him sadly. "He was just trying to lighten the mood!" Mud defended him.

"Stop fighting!!!" Dusk yelled.

"Oh come on Dusk" Jet flew over to the blue pegasus. "Us pegasi gotta stick together. Who's side are you even on? I mean, I would hate to be a boring earth pony. Especially a farm pony. That's so stupid."

Suddenly, they heard a screech, and Mud leaped up and tackled Jet out of the air. Then Cotton ran over and jumped on them. "There's nothing wrong with being an earth pony!" He yelled.

Sapphire and Dawn ran over to try and break the fight apart. "Stop this at on-" Sapphire was cut off by a hoof striking her face. She stood there, jaw dropped. Then she frowned angrily. "Oh It. Is. On." She leaped into the group and started to fight. Dusk, Dawn and Applesweet stood by the wrestling ponies. Soon, Dusk joined it to try and break it up, but in result he started to fight too.

"Stop! Please! Stop it!" Applesweet begged.

Just then, they heard Cherrilee. "BREAK IT UP! NOW!!!" She commanded. The fillies and colts broke apart in a second. "Everyone, inside now. And I'm expecting to speak with your parents tonight...."
